Oh insane starbreaker is great.

Give me a Jace who is so, so consumed with grief from losing Porter that he learns a fucked up version of necromancy to bring him back.

But he gets something- something isn’t right. But it works, and it worked better than he had planned, and maybe this- maybe this could work in his favor, too.

He’s dying. In a constant state of it, rotting internally, but never actually dead. Never changing. Just always aware of it, that he’s somewhere between alive and dead, somewhere between person and beast.

But it worked. Porter is alive. Porter is there, in the kitchen, doing the dishes. He’s humming to himself the way he always had before, content to just. Live. Be with him. Jace has never been so grateful.

But Porter has questions. Questions he knows he can’t answer, can’t even start to answer because he- he’s.

Well how is he supposed to tell Porter that the reason he’s alive is because Jace is always dying? That he only way for Porter to be alive is if Jace is always, forever dying? That something went wrong, and now their lives are quite literally tied together.

How does he tell Porter that he took on his rot, his decay, his death? That he split it between them, so now they’re both just. Stable, but dying. Always. Forever.

It’s not perfect. He knows that. But it’s something. He’s living. He’s alive. Porter is alive.

Jace thinks he could be okay with this. Maybe. Porter wouldn’t, but Porter doesn’t know. Will never need to know what he did. That’s okay.

Omg Steve holding onto grudges his daughters have let go is so real. My mom told me the other day that she still hates one of my sisters ex-friends from over 15 years ago. How do you think Steve reacts if one of the girls bring a friend (reformed enemy) home? I know he would be an adult, but still a little petty I think.

Honestly same my mom still talks about one particular ex-friend of mine from when I was in elementary school who I haven't seen or spoken to in over a decade.

Yeah, Steve would be the picture of civility to the friends themselves. There's been enough fully-burned bridges for him to trust his daughters' judgement, though he definitely would be psychoanalyzing every single word that came out of their mouths.

Where it would show is when he interacts with those friends' parents because, in his eyes, they're the ones who taught that kind of behavior, and Steve has some level of awareness that he and Eddie are, to their upper-middle class liberal town, the cool gay dads. Steve's social calendar is booked solid, and wherever he shows up is the place to be in the eyes of the other parents. He will use that privilege for evil if he must.

Like, if Moe's friend Kaley excluded her from a basketball team-sleepover, Steve is suddenly chronically unavailable for all of Kaley's mom's wine and cheese nights.

Robbie might have mended fences with her friend Skylar, but funnily enough Skylar's dad never was able to work Steve into the carpool rotation again.

For the record, Eddie does not have any awareness of any of this. He's the dad who classically does not know any of his children's friends. If he woke up in a Saw trap and the only requirement was to name one (1) of his daughters' friends, he'd be completely fucked.

happily here we go:

-jace keeps his hair just a little longer than we see in canon bc he likes when the other squad members do double french braids with little bows at the ends to give it a little flair. porter also. very much likes this.

-jace has the cheer pants and the cheer skirt and wears both depending on his mood.

-porter is whatever the bloodrush equivalent to a defensive linebacker is, so he's used to getting hit and getting hit hard. that's his job, stay on defense, protect the ball, go down if he needs to. it doesn't really effect him anymore, especially since they have magic and can just do a quick cure wounds or lay on hands if anything too detrimental happens.

but jace is absolutely not okay the first time he sees porter take a hit after they start dating, and some of the other cheer squad members have to stop him from running out onto the field when a time-out is called so they can check on porter. he spends the rest of the night fussing over him after the game because he's got too much anxious energy to sit still.

-they've fucked in the locker room dozens of times, but they've only gotten caught like five times, maybe? which is a miracle on its own because they are not fucking quiet. it's always been a toss up on who threatens the poor soul who happened to walk in. most people are honestly more afraid of jace bc his magic is still very, very unpredictable at that point.

-they are very territorial over each other but they do not need to be bc everyone knows they're so crazy for each other that trying to insert themselves in their relationship is a death sentence.

-every prom they throw insane after parties. jace always spikes the punch. and they sneak off to fuck in a classroom at least twice.

-they break up once, and jace seems fine about it, but porter is a wreck. and not like... raging, throwing shit. he's just obviously so devastated and desperate to fix it, and he's constantly scanning the halls, the cafeteria, the courtyard for any sign of jace. when jace leaves his letterman in his locker, along with some old t-shirts jace had taken over the years a few days after they break up, porter openly cries about it before he goes to the gym and breaks a few punching bags. obvs they work it out within a few weeks, but porter takes it really hard and once they're back together, jace finally admits that he hadn't been sleeping much since they broke up because he didn't have anything that smelled like porter anymore and that's what had been keeping him calm when wild magic surges would hit suddenly.

-they're high school sweethearts, basically. they grow up, they get married. end up teaching at augefort. in this au they do not ever become evil, just a weird grown up version of their a little bit fucked up dynamic from high school where its like. they're in love but maybe there is such a thing as too in love, you know?

koushi loses his virginity to childhood friend!reader because you tell him that you're scared that when you finally get a boyfriend you won't know what to do. you tell him that he's the only one you trust, and you want it to be him. he doesn't have the heart to tell you it's his first time either, the nerve to say that he's been in love with you since before he even knew what that meant, or the willpower to deny you.

he and daichi move into a little apartment in the city together after high school—suga studying education and daichi at the police academy not too far from the university. it's a good arrangement; they're already more than comfortable together after all these years, and the only way either of them could afford a place that wasn't a shoebox was to live with a roommate. you take a year off after you all graduate high school, staying at home to work part time and figure out what you want to do with your life.

you've always told koushi you want to go to school in tokyo. but tokyo is expensive, so you need time to save up. and tokyo is far, so koushi needs time to steel himself for saying goodbye.

you come to visit him and daichi in sendai often, and frequently spend the night at their place—since the departure of the last train home always seems to creep up on you too quickly when you're with the duo, especially if you've had a few drinks. and when you inevitably look to koushi and bat your eyelashes and ask if you can spend the night instead of racing to the station to catch the last train, he never ever denies you.

spending time with suga and daichi is easy. it's comfortable. even though koushi is the common link between you, daichi was quick to accept you as a part of the deal—having once referred to you as a gift with purchase, which made all of you laugh. sometimes the boys take you out and introduce you to the new friends they've made since graduating. sometimes the three of you just lounge around their living room, drinking cheap beer that one of their senpais bought for them and talking about whatever comes to mind. koushi likes those nights the best—the ones where you're relaxed and soft, and sometimes ask to borrow a sweatshirt that he's all too eager to loan you.

you sleep with koushi a few more times, but don't ever really talk about it. daichi knows how suga feels about you (and has felt about you for all these years) and he warns suga that this isn't good for him. koushi brushes him off every time, probably smiles in a way that's just a little too strained to be sincere, and reassures him everything is fine. daichi doesn't push it, but he does start to treat you a bit differently—a bit more warily, because he resents the way you're hurting his friend.

one evening you come by their apartment before suga's made it back from class—letting yourself in with the spare key he gave you—and wait for him to return. daichi arrives home first after a brutal day at school, he'd gotten a bad score on an assessment and he has a group project due and his group mates are ghosting him. he's frustrated, and seeing you sitting in the living room irritates him. he cracks a beer, and then goes out to the balcony for a cigarette.

you follow him out.

you tease him that smoking is bad for him.

he knows that, and is already kind of annoyed he's picked up the habit since starting university. his reply to you is clipped. you quirk a brow and ask him for a drag. he looks at you, barely holding back all the things he wants to say to you.

you're flirting with him.

koushi has been in love with you since you were kids. has been sleeping with you now for months. and you're here flirting with his best friend.

and maybe that's why daichi goes along with it. maybe he's just stressed out and frustrated and taking it out on you. maybe it's his misguided way of hoping to finally get the message through to koushi that you're not good for him.

he regrets it the moment koushi walks in on the two of you on the sofa the two of them each paid half for—you stradding daichi's lap with your shift off—and sees the look of heartbreak on his best friend's face.

i've always thought riven got unnecessary hate for the scene in which he storms off and announces he's going to transfer to another squad in season one. naturally, i thought i'd chime in with my two cents that no one asked for.

first of all, it is important to understand what led to his confrontational demeanor. his hostility did not stem from him being an inherently 'shitty' person or just because he had lost the race. before the race even began, riven had a pot of water dumped on him (which was more or less warranted) after which he was given a faulty helmet that resulted in his loss in the race. now, we as viewers, are aware that bloom was tricked into giving riven the helmet as an apology gift, but riven doesn't know that. given the past humiliation and his lack of familiarity with bloom, it is understandable that riven finds it reasonable to question her motives. to riven, it makes more sense that bloom must have tried to sabotage his race just so that sky could win. which, yes, sky did somehow end up winning by default.

what ultimately served as the breaking point was sky agreeing with bloom (a girl sky barely knew at the time) and taking her side over his. on some level, riven obviously felt betrayed because he's known sky longer. again, viewers know sky and others were only trying to understand the situation and not take any sides. here, riven could have shown maturity by pausing and talking things out, but by this point, he starts perceiving everything as a personal attack since no one is offering him any backing because no one (minus bloom) knew what had exactly happened. it's a bit of a tricky situation for everyone involved.

to be clear, i'm not saying riven was innocent – because he wasn’t; he kept toying with the line between bantering and being arrogant until he took it too far and provoked bloom – but to call him mean-spirited or hateful without understanding the context is ridiculous.
