Disappointment for Sunak As He Remains an MP

There was further disappointment for outgoing UK Prime Minister Rishi "Rish!" Sunak after the conservatives lost the general election in a landslide, as he retained his seat in Richmond and Northallerton, meaning he will have to remain an MP.

The Conservative leader has long expressed apathy and indifference to the job of being a member of parliament and it had been rumoured he would retire from politics should the party see defeat at the 2024 election. Instead he will have to remain a sitting MP in the opposition.

my indifference towards voting in bourgeois states comes from the fact that, at least absent some sort of genuine socialist force having a real electoral presence, it's mostly pointless and has zero influence on most things that matter. so no, i don't care if you don't vote.

but also i can't really believe this without also believing in its immediate corrolary: that because voting is mostly pointless and has zero influence on most things that matter, it's not a big deal if you vote either. like i don't believe enough in electoral politics to think that biden would actually be pushed left on e.g. Israel from losing some of the 18-35 far-left demo. and the american left as of right now doesn't have the organization or influence to pull any sort of significant boycott of the elections.

similarly, i'm not convinced that voting for biden is "legitimizing genocide;" that would require believing that bourgeois states' policies (foreign or domestic) are representations of popular will, which idk how you'd argue for that from a non-liberal perspective.
