Just a quick reminder!

There is no wrong way to enjoy a media.

Whether you are in it for the story, the characters, the gameplay, the community, whatever your priority may be— there is no wrong way to love a piece of work.

Yes, even if you make "inaccurate" headcanons for characters you love.

Yes, even if you are more into the aesthetics than any deeper meaning.

Yes, even if you only engage with it through playthroughs or video analysis other secondary sources.

In the end, you and all the other fans are together in loving and supporting a piece of work. If somebody enjoys the content in a way you personally don't want to see, simply block and move on! The only "wrong" way to be a fan is to be one who is malicious and hurtful to others and to real people.

Okay, people. I need to soapbox for a hot minute.

My favorite fandom worlds are imploding on their own people, and it’s fucking ridiculous.

1) Lockwood and Co.

I hate to point this out, but I’m gonna anyway. There is no Locklyle WRITTEN ship in the books. There is an implied ship. The author confirmed that it was intentionally implied. But it wasn’t written. So you know what? There is NO canon ship.

You know what that means? People can ship whomever the fuck they want without “breaking canon”. If you write Locklyle, fine. But that makes you no better than people who are enjoying other ships. And even then, it’s a fandom. It’s imaginary shit. The way to keep the fandom alive and thrive is to NOT PUBLICALLY CASTIGATE AND PUT DOWN other shippers and their ideas, works, or conversations. If you do that, it’s YOU who is poisoning the fandom.

2) Stray Kids

Holy fuck, people! Can’t we all just be adults?

a) Do not attack people who interact with our boys in a professional capacity. It’s not helpful to the group to give them a reputation for having an out of control fanbase. It could cause their opportunities become limited just because others are scared that Stay may get offended by something.

b) If you don’t want to support the new song, don’t. Don’t buy it. Don’t stream it. Don’t get it off of a secondary site just because you can listen without supporting the collaboration.

DO keep your choices to yourself. Your choices are not supposed to apply to other Stay. We can make our own decisions. Other Stay are not lesser, wrong, unethical, Zionists, pro-genecide or any other thing you want to call them. They are simply supporting SKZ their own chosen way.

In closing, this is simple. Do what you want for yourself. Stop thinking your decision has any bearing on other people. Your ego is showing. You aren’t that fucking special. Check yourself.

Not trying to start arguments, but i see more people complaining about skk fans and hating on the ship than actual toxic/problematic skk fans. Sure, there is always misscharacterization and a lot of fanon content, but there is a difference between that and harming others by being toxic, and i don't think people realize that.

Like, yeah I know the show isn’t meant to be realistic/looked at too deeply but I don’t see the harm in letting people have fun with it, especially when the show has much more depth to it than people give it credit for

Like, Cartman being the way he is because the show needs him to be and Cartman being the way he is from the way he was raised/his environment are things that can absolutely coexist

to anyone, and i mean ANYONE who fucking goes out of their way to make fun of those that enjoy sozo because of what he turned out to be

no one knew, NO ONE fucking knew ANY of this, just as how no one knew the age order of the bishops, no one had any form of knowing sozo was someone already old, there was NOTHING on his design that indicated any form of being old, ''oh bUt whAt aBoUt his beArd'', shut your damm stupid ass mouth, im very sure most of the fandom thought that was some sort of spore mushroom thing that grew because of the side ffects of the mushrooms

to anyone who's interpretations of sozo is young still, keep it up, at the end of the day, you can always use the excuse is your AU

time in cotl is already very tricky, as followers become really old really quickly, the way i work around this is that i take every day not as a day but as months/years, weird and shit, but the other option is the crown sucking the life out of you making you age fast and i prefer the other option
