Fibonacci, Julia Robinson and Hilbert's 10th Problem
Fibonacci Day is November 23rd, and celebrates the work of medieval mathematician Leonardo of Pisa. We have no solid dates on Leonardo, but 11-23 was chosen as those are the first numbers in the sequence. In honour of the day, Science Magazine published an article on an American mathematician who utilized the Fibonacci series to solve German mathematician David Hilbert’s 10th problem of his…

Self modified shell and workings of the parasite may be too gruesome for certain groups, withholding highly sensitive documentary will result in the reader being rendered MISSING due to [REDACTED]
Upon contact of receiving the parasite the host [Leonardo] began experiencing pain beyond reasoning, the speed of the parasite reaching the hosts mind was remarkable. Taking only approximately 3.6 seconds for the parasite to reach the Frontal Lobes as well as parts of the Occipital Lobe, Parietal Lobe and Limbic System resulting in host going Farel, attacking any other potential hosts within range. Although, upon sudden high temperatures from the family ninpo due to [REDACTED] the parasite noticeably retreated to the hosts shell by accessing the cerebellum then traveling down through the brainstem and spinal cord.
Compared to previous host [Donatello], access to the current host[yours truly] sparked an interesting difference. While the previous host acted [REDACTED], the parasite acts more violently to its current host, spreading across the inside of the shell and swelling, applying roughly 650-660 pounds of force to the shell. Surpassing the pressure it'd take to crush a regular turtle shell, hypothesis states due to mutation our shells are more flexible than average, allowing us to twist and bend in ways that'd be unnatural/harmful to our unmutated counterparts, but causing extreme pain and discomfort for the host, applying pressure not only to the shell but to the internal organs as well. Putting the subject life at high risk, if not acted upon [REDACTED] resulting in life threatening damage and spread of the parasite to any nearby victims.
Immediate surgical action required.
_______________________________________
My additional research collected continues to impress my original beliefs.
With new additions added, the host has not only managed to contain the parasite but even weaponize it.
Self made cracks aided in the surgical process as well as preventing the parasite from destroying the shell worse than it has, leaving a peace of the shell in its original position assistance in leveraging the parasite, it also assist in the closing mechanisms added to the inners of the shell. Additional spinal support was added to prevent risks from having far more flexibly than the current host previously was capable of, as well as aiding in preventing the parasite from spreading and causing more problems with the use of ninpo running through the mechanical parts.
It hurts.
Due to the tech needing a constant flow of ninpo to prevent system failure and allowing the parasite to spread, ninpo will be very limited if in events of a battle. Unfortunately, constant access to regular temperatures leads to flu like symptoms, allowing the parasite to thrive and spread despite the ninpo mechanisms preventing it from swelling, acting more as damage control. The hosts shell is too damaged to be submerged, milkshakes and ice will have to assist in the prevention of spread.
Along in aiding with parasite control, the tech attached to the spine (somehow separated from the shell and is confined within the flesh of the parasite, as if it was carefully peeled off. Remarkably no damage found to anything vital.) Have flexible material that wrap around the bone and were very careful surgically attached to the spinal nerve, spinal cord and vertebrae to act as support and to prevent accidental damage, Acting as a theoretical shell in the meantime.
Flexible but strong material was bolted in along the inside of the host shell, acting as some kind of prosthetic allowing the host to open and close the shell at will. Still causes discomfort unfortunately.
More in depth description shall be provided [REDACTED]
Overall this surgery took approximately 12 hours. Rest is required.

The log has ended, but pieces can still be found from here out.
Perhaps then you may have the full story
As much as I wanna go more into depth with these details unfortunately it'll risk spoiling parts of the story I'm really looking forward to working on

please make a Bay!Leo piece
Staring | Leonardo
okay this is short and sweet and i'm using this to try and get back into writing again so no judging!
warnings: none? hints of suggestiveness but its fluffy and short. leo might be a bit ooc? but oh well. everyone is 18+ !!!
summary: leo likes watching you
word count: 514
.・。.・゜✭・.・✫・゜・。.
Leo is watching you. He’s not sure if you realise, if you can feel the weight of his gaze. He doesn’t even realise he’s staring himself sometimes. His eyes can pick you out in a bustling crowd, instinctively drawn to the shape of you, and he honestly doesn’t mean to stare most of the time, it’s just difficult to want to look at anything else so he doesn’t. No matter how many times he watches you, it’s not enough. He’s committed your shape to memory – not with his hands, not intimately, not yet, but he quietly hopes – and he wants to retrace the lines of your body every day over and over with his eyes and then his hands and then his tongue–
He feels your eyes on him immediately and he fights the flush crawling up his neck as you quirk your brow and smile widely. His smile in return is small but it must be enough because your own becomes impossibly wider. Your eyes are sparkling with life and vivacity and it makes his breath catch in his throat. You’re not doing anything particularly interesting, simply listening to Mikey ramble about something unimportant with a graceful patience Leo is almost jealous of, but you’re so full of energy it makes his chest hurt in the most fulfilling way. You’re practically vibrating with vitality and it makes your frame a little blurry around the edges. Although, he concedes, that might just be the effect you have on him because his heart is pounding and he can hear the blood rushing in his veins and he feels giddy in a way that’s dizzying and embarrassing and the most thrilling thing in the world and, god, he wants to feel that forever.
Your eyes are still on him and his tongue feels too big for his mouth as he presses it against his teeth. Is this what you feel when he stares, he wonders. If so, he might have to apologise at some point when he feels less mortified because he’s starting to feel faint and his knees are weak and he’s gripping the kitchen counter a bit too hard. If just looking at him causes this reaction, he can’t imagine what it would be like if you were to touch him the way he’s dreamed about. He feels a little delirious at the thought, lightheaded and feeling the urge to churr and giggle which are sounds he doesn’t want anyone to hear ever. Well, anyone but you.
He’s the first to look away, his eyes resisting the movement as though they were magnets fighting to stay stuck on your figure. If he doesn’t look away, he’d probably pass out and he would never live that down. He freezes when his eyes instead find Donnie reclining against a wall and watching him behind his stupid glasses with a subtle smirk half-hidden by an outrageously oversized cup of coffee.
“Not a word.” He hisses quietly, thankful that it was Donnie at least and not, god forbid, Raphael who caught his staring.
Donnie just snickers.

Rise Ramblings #546
In the beginning of the mini-episode “Race,” April texts all the guys with an offer: free pizza to the one that can come by and watch Mayhem.
I can only describe what happens next as, the “Text Battle of all Text Battles.”
Based on the choice of pictures we can safely assume that we are indeed looking at Leo’s phone.
Well, let’s analyze the play-by-play, shall we?
ROUND ONE
Leo comes in clutch with perfect form and all caps. No extra frills, but with all the chills. Next, we have Raphael. Ooo, looks like he lost a bit of time there tripping up on capitalization. Nice try, Champ. Third is Mikey. It appears his spelling mistake cost him vital microseconds. No “dibss” for you, Mikey baby. Lastly, we have Donatello. Two explanation points? Too much time lost there, buddy.
Winner: Leonardo
ROUND TWO
Again, perfectly done by the boy in blue as he slides into first with all caps (plus an exclamation for effect.) Second, we have ol’ reliable, Big Red. By ditching the “I” he gained some speed but lost it all with the extra exclamation points. Maybe next time, Red, maybe next time. Third we have Orange. Typos? What’s a typo? Sadly, the time skipped in forgoing accuracy means nothing as he still took third place. Last is Purple, yet again. Maybe spend less time on correct capitalization and more time sending your message, Dondon.
Winner: Leonardo
ROUND THREE
And here we’ve emerged with the emojis. Swift, simple, and to the point, Leonardo is first place once more. His message is clear. Pizza? Absolutely. Get a clue, it’s all for Blue! Second is the big man himself, two slices for him please! Sadly, the extra slice equals no dice as he comes up thrice in the number two spot. Starry eyes, pizza surprise, but he’s not on a roll as Mikey is next to go. And dead last is Othello von Ryan. Yes Donnie, pizza is 100 percent fire, but with the knife and fork you’ve come up short!
Winner: Leonardo
FINAL RESULTS
WINNER: LEONARDO
I guess someone is a sore loser.

My favorite part of playing guilty gear with my brother is doing character voices and making up factually incorrect lore
My favorite bits:
- Happy Chaos only brings 6 bullets to every fight because none of his clothes have any pockets so that’s all he can fit in his gun
- he also listens to Nickelback and if no one stops him he’s gonna replace the soundtrack to the next guilty gear game with their phlegmy alt-rock
- Asuka B# (pronounced B sharp) invented pop-up books and discovered the Higgs Boson, which was a vital part of creating the Guilty Gear
- The Guilty Gear was a literal gear made out of Higgs Bosons. It’s intended purpose was to absorb all the sins of humanity and get everyone into heaven, but it was eaten by a goat so everyone blames that goat for the downfall of society (this is what the “mankind knew” thing before every match is about)
- Testament’s scythe is a JoJo’s stand called “100 Gecs” that strips you of your pronouns
- Faust is Leonardo DiCaprio who got blackout drunk at the Titanic cast party and has been running around as a bag doctor for like 50 years
— The Leo in every movie since 1997 is a clone. The film studios keep clones of all the big name actors in coffins hidden in Area 51. Goldlewis’s coffin has Benedict Cumberbatch’s clone in it
- “Dog Kick! Dog Kick! Dog Kick!” “Giovanna you really need to find something else to call that move it doesn’t sound good”
- Potemkin is a Macy’s thanksgiving day parade float that turned against its masters and is now seeking revenge

Actually in love with the Bayverse kiddo stories you’ve done they’re so cute!! I honestly can’t pick which one is my favourite but I think it’s a tie between the stories of Raph and Donnie catching their kids sneaking out of the lair/in the lab without permission - idk they’re just really cute to read I love them both so much!!
If you’re still taking ideas for family centred Bayverse stuff, if you’re comfortable with it how do you think the turtles would react to knowing their s/o is pregnant?? With how the turtles are mutant and their s/o would be human, would any of the turtles even think it was possible to produce healthy offspring?? Who would be very taken aback/take a while to come to terms with the situation verses who would adjust fairly quickly??
The Turtles Reactions To You Being Pregnant (Fluff)
Children Series
Bayverse!Turtles x reader
A/N: I hope this is what you were looking for. It might not be exactly as you described, but I hope you’ll enjoy it none the less💚
Warnings: Implied connulingus, talk of infertility.
Leonardo:
When you first learned of your pregnancy, you were in absolute shock. Maybe even horrified. Here you had married a mutant turtle, never taking the time to care much for protection, as neither of you thought anything would come of it. You and Leo had hoped. Even talked about it, allowing each other to dream about it for a moment. Children. Actually having children together. A dream that neither of you ever really believed would become true. But then, when you suddenly started noticing a few symptoms, you couldn’t stop yourself from taking a test. And then another because you didn’t believe the first result. And then one more. And another. You broke down, both out of happiness, fear and shock. But that would be nothing compared to when you told your husband about it.
At first Leo refused to believe what you told him. He almost got mad at you, thinking that you were playing some cruel joke on him. No way you dared making fun of something you both had fantasized about for so long, slowly coming to terms with the fact that it would never happen. But as you stood before him, teary eyed, holding up not just one but several positive tests, Leo could no longer deny what was true.
Leo felt every emotion within a few seconds. Overjoyed excitement and shock. So much, that for the first time in Leo’s well controlled life, he lost all emotional control. He cried, laughed, yelled, sang and at one point even did a little dance as he hurried out to the living area, in order to tell his family.
But then the fear and worry came crashing. Never had a human and a mutant turtle reproduce together. There was no way of knowing if the child would be born healthy. Or if it even was safe for you to carry a hybrid within you.
That unlocked a whole new side of Leo. A nervous rack that started fearing the worst, holding your hand tight and almost hugging himself, as the two of you awaited the test results from the various checks Donatello had made on you.
The wait for answers almost made Leo sick. He was fidgety, never leaving your side, fearing what would happen if he did. He laid awake most nights, holding you and your still unchanged stomach close. It got so bad that Donnie started worrying more about his brother’s wellbeing instead of yours, taking time out of your daily checks to check Leo’s vitals.
Finally came the day of answers. Nothing was out of the ordinary - well, other than the hybrid child inside of you. But there was no evidence that your health was at risk, or that the child was in any arms way. Donnie even found evidence that suggested that the mugaten you would have been exposed to through Leo, might even make the process smoother.
And with that Leo could finally breathe a sigh of relief, finally letting himself relax, feeling his much needed sleep rush over him, dreaming of the day you and Leo would be holding your first child out of many.
Raphael:
The revelation that a human could in fact get impregnated by a mutant turtle, was a game changer for you and Raph. You could still remember the exact moment you and Raph looked at each other, realizing what this could mean for the two of you.
Yet, children had never really been something you and Raph had talked about. But the moment Leo and his partner started getting ready for their first child, it was as if your thoughts started spinning. Well, Raph’s more than yours. Of course, Raph had felt the need for mating during mating season, along with the thought of offsprings, but it never went much further than that. Until now.
Raph started finding himself daydreaming about you, him and any future children quite often. You and him, mixed together in a cute little bundle of pure happiness.
The final trigger was when Raph’s nephew was born, and Raph could finally see how a reality like this might be better than his daydreams. And that was when Raph finally decided to tell you that he wanted a child, and just how long he had been thinking about it.
And much to you and Raph’s excitement, it didn’t take long before the bees and the flowers did their thing, and you got pregnant with you and Raph’s first child. And when you told Raph about it, his reaction showed just how badly he wanted this. Letting out a victory roar, Raph pulled you in for a tight hug, lifting you off the ground and showering your face with kisses, before throwing you over his shoulder, so he could bring you with the good news to the others.
During the majority of your pregnancy, Raph was cool. Even before you got pregnant, it wasn’t strange for him to smack your ass whenever he walked past you, but now he took it to a whole other level. It was pretty much impossible for you to walk around the lair, without Raph making some sort of spicy remark about your current situation, and how feasting it was for his eyes. Who would have thought that your husband would have a thing for your body parts growing due to child baring?
But the closer and closer you got to your due date, the more nervous Raph seemed to get. Any sound, any movement, and Raph was ready at your side, thinking that it was your signal that it was time.
But the day you finally went into labor, Raph was an absolute wreck, almost needing more care than you did, with you and the others reminding him to breathe while you pushed your first born out.
Nonetheless, the moment your daughter was born, and Raph realized everything was okay, he seemed to get some color back in his face.
Donatello:
You had for a long time wanted children. You had talked about it a long time before anybody even knew it would be possible, often letting Donnie know your thoughts on the topic. But Donnie, not so much. He had never really spent much time thinking about it, outside of his mating season. When he wasn’t in the middle of the most animalistic of his urges, the mere thought of having to take care of a child of his own, made him feel somewhat strange.
But then, seeing two of his brothers and their partners becoming parents, along with helping them through the process, made Donnie’s mind race. First it was an innocent small thought. A child. Then it turned into more. You and him with a child. But not just any child. Your child. His child. And then, before Donnie knew it, the baby fever had started taking over.
You noticed it before Donnie, seeing how he acted around his nephew and niece. It was like he had done a 180, from never really engaging in your conversations about children, but just letting you talk on your own, to actively helping out his brothers. He even started asking them questions about parenting. And at that point, pretty much everybody knew what was going on inside Donnie’s head, and there was no way he could hide it anymore. He wanted a child.
Donnie went into this, a little more well thought out than his brothers had. Taking account of your cyclus, along with his mating season, and all of the other factors he could find, Donnie found the perfect time for you and him to try to have a child. But all of that planning flew out the window the moment his mating season hit, and you found yourself pregnant within a short time.
Donnie was pretty level headed throughout the whole thing. He had wanted this. He had planned for this. Of course he was a little nervous. Who wouldn’t be? But he had to keep calm, for you and for the kid.
But then your water broke, causing Donnie to fly into an almost full blown panic, forgetting everything he had planned. It took a slap from Raph and a few good words from Leo, along with some encouragement from Mikey to get him back on track.
And back on track Donnie got. He guided you through, almost with more ease than he had with his brothers’ partners. For a moment he just switched off all emotions and focused on the task before him.
But as soon as your son was born, and was laying safely in your arms, Donnie broke under all of his suppressed emotions, letting out a few happy sobs as the two of you watched the little guy before you.
Michelangelo:
If there was one that wanted children, it was Mikey. He had been talking about it, long before his oldest brother and spouse figured out it was possible. So can you imagine his excitement, not just for his brother’s good news, but when he realized the two of you could actually make a family together? He was over the moon, talking about having a child as if he was asking if he could get a puppy.
But the world didn’t seem to think too fondly of you and Mikey’s wish to have children too. Days turned into weeks, and nothing happened. Then days turned to months, and you were still not showing any signs, all while Raph’s partner was heavily pregnant with their child. Months suddenly turned into years, and now Donnie was a father as well. Though you both were happy for them all, it was almost disheartening.
For a time you worried it might have been because of you. The fear that you might have been infertile creeping up in your head, until you finally asked Donnie to check you out. You even went to a human doctor to get checked. But both said the same thing - there was nothing wrong with you.
This left you and Mikey with one last option - maybe it was because of him. It had been known that human males were experiencing a lowering of sperm counts, along with a lower quality of said sperm, so who were to say it couldn’t happen for a mutant turtle as well?
And so, Mikey went to work immediately, trying to figure out what he could do. The conclusion from Donnie came much earlier than the two of you had expected, but his results were not surprising - a better diet, more training, no more alcohol on the weekends until you had a baby in you, less stressing video games and more vitamins.
Mikey took it all with no complaints. If he wanted a child he would have to work for it, and so he did. Even if he at times wanted to fall over when he couldn’t eat his favorite foods, play his favorite video games, or just do what he normally did as a creature of habit. But he wanted that child, so he could not just give up like that! No! And so he kept going.
And after a few weeks of non stop trying, you and Mikey finally saw the fruit of his labor, when your daily morning test out in the bathroom finally showed positive, altering the rest of the lair with your high pitch scream as you ran to Mikey, happy tears in your eyes as you showed him what the two of you had been waiting for, for so long.
Mikey was overjoyed, screaming louder than any of his brothers had done. Finally! After so long, he was finally going to become a father. He had worked so hard, but never once did he or you give up. And therefore, Mikey rightfully decided to celebrate the good news, with the first junk food he had gotten in a long while.
From that night, all up until you gave birth, Mikey slept, hugging your stomach, happy that it was finally happening for the two of you.

Urgent Brother Business
A little gift for @somerandomdudelmao in return for their delightful Future AU, and for blessing us with Tiny Tello. I couldn’t get the image of him bossing gigantic, adult Leo around out of my head!
“So the Krang dogs were last spotted here,” April was saying, tapping at a map she’d laid out across the War Room table. “If we come around the perimeter this way, we should be able to use these ruins as cover to...”
She looked up from the carefully plotted attack plans at the ten recruits she’d assembled to go over strategy; none of which were even looking at the map. “Seriously, guys?” April huffed. “I don’t even have to turn around to see what y’all are gawking at...”
Behind her in the hallway, the Leader of the Resistance, The Greatest Ninja of All Time and the turtle who was meant to be leading this damn meeting was crawling across the floor, barely holding in a laugh as a tiny, furious green pancake led him about by the tails of his mask.
“Well,” April deadpanned, arms folded, “I’ve turned around, and I see. Master Leonardo, you wanna get involved, here?”
“Can’t, April,” Leo said, pointing down at the turtle tot, who was scowling through his custom, handmade glasses at the world around him. “I’m double-booked. Take it up with Donnie.”
Donnie - the recent victim of a severe bout of anti-aging that seemed to be going around the base of late - growled reedily and tugged on Leo’s mask tails.
“Oop, we’re off again. See you next time, Commander. Recruits.”
“The sooner Mikey works out how to change him back,” April sighed, turning back to her map, “the better. Okay, can we at least try to focus, please?”
Leo had been basically useless to the resistance since Donnie got babified; following him around and basically doing whatever his little brother (emphasis on little) wanted him to do. That or picking Donnie up and gently squeezing him around the middle, just to hear him squeak. It was so darn cute!
“Where are we going, bud?” Leo asked, as Donnie led him through the base, his face a mask of adorable determination. “You wanna go bath? S’at it? You wanna swim? Oh, we’re going to the kitchen? I can getcha a cookie, just don’t tell Raph...oh.”
They’d stopped just in front of the counter that held the battered, dinged but somehow miraculously still functional coffee machine. It was Donnie’s pride and joy - he’d rescued it from a decimated Starbucks a month or two back, painted a Genius Brand logo on it and had made it work on salvaged coffee beans, evaporated milk and a dream.
Tiny Donnie looked up at it expectantly.
“Uh, bud?” Leo said, getting to his feet and rubbing the back of his neck guiltily. “I don’t think I can get you a coffee right now. You’re just a little guy, and I don’t know what all that caffeine will do to your sensitive lil’ tum-tum.”
Donnie looked from the machine to Leo and, assuming he simply hadn’t made himself understood, jabbed a tiny finger in the direction of the machine.
“D. Coffee’s not a good idea right now.”
Donnie grumbled and pointed all the harder.
“Nuh-uh. No way.”
The turtle tot’s eyes widened in scandalised betrayal - then narrowed as he hissed out something that was obviously a very bad word in Baby-ese.
“Woah, woah, you watch your mouth, mister.” Leo bent down to scoop up his brother. “You need a time out, buddy. Away from all this --”
An entire arsenal of purple nimpo weaponry materialised around Donnie.
“...temptation,” Leo finished weakly. “Eeuough boy.”
“Okay,” April was saying back in the War Room, having finally - finally! - wrangled back the recruits’ attention. “So this next part’s important. Escape plan; this back alley is vital, everyone memorise the co-ordinates --”
BOOM BOOM BANG POW SCREECH POP BOOM BANG BANG BANG BANG
As one, the recruits snapped their attention to the doorway, just as Leo sprinted past, shrieking in terrified laughter as Donnie - somewhere in the haze of purple light and firepower that surrounded him - followed in hot pursuit.
“Donnie no, Donnie stop it I’m sorry, Donatello stand down I’m still your commanding officer--AAAAAGH!!!”
A soft, resonant boom, followed by a cloud of purple smoke. April deflated, finally admitting defeat and rolling up her map.
“Doesn’t matter. Just...don’t worry about it, guys.”

Four Versus One (Part One)
Platonic Yandere Rise Brothers x Fem!Reader
Warnings- Tv Self Awareness, Panic Attacks, Reader has siblings and a niece, Stalking (if you count watching someone thru a screen without their knowledge as stalking)
You lounged gingerly on the couch. Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles droning on as your niece starred in wonderment at the screen. You'd introduced her to the show as means to get her to stop making you watch (insert stupid show here). You told your sibling you'd watch over them the next few days as the birth of their second child happened. Today felt like it went on a bit longer. Tonight was the last night that your niece would be here.
You couldn't say you didn't have fun. The show you stopped watching years ago was now, apparently, coming out with new episodes and you and your niece hyper fixated on it hard. With all that said, however, you were glad to get your space back. Glad to have your own little bubble of childishness without the responsibility of another human.
Deciding it was a calm enough scene not to be missed, you got up to get a well needed snack.
Calling into your niece. "You want anything from the kitchen, chicken pop?"
She giggles at the odd, but well deserved nickname, and asks you for orange juice.
After pouring drinks and grabbing popcorn you made your way back to the living room. The scene had switched to Donatello's lab. They were making some sort of gun. Words like "portal" and "interdimensional travel" were being thrown around.
You wondered slightly as you laid the snacks out what this weapon had to do with anything. The episode didn't seem to call for it, but maybe you missed a more vital scene than you thought?
You thought a bit more as you watched the show how different it was from what you remembered. There were more fourth wall breaks and sometimes one of the turtles would randomly throw out compliments to the watcher.
Not that you minded the change. It was just different. Nice, but different.
~~~Time skip brought to you buy me writing this in my therapy waiting room~~~
You had successfully made the trade off of your niece, delivering her back into the hands of one of her parents. You'd cleaned up the house, and finally felt yourself relax.
You had turned the tv off for a little while. A part of your agreement with your niece to wait to watch the show again together. Obviously, that was a lie. You had turned the tv back on after cleaning. Ordering a pizza and deciding to have a "me night".
There was something you noticed when you turned it back on though. The fourth wall breaks and the compliments happen more often. The plot seemed thrown out the window and everything seemed almost more mature than before.
Because of all of this you made the executive decision to Google it. It'd been a while since you'd been a part of the fandom so you figured it'd be quicker just to get straight to the point.
You felt your heart drop from what you read. Confusion and honest panic grew in its place. There were only two seasons. That was impossible. There were obviously more. What had you been watching?
"Uh ohhhhhh," You heard Leonardo's voice drone. "Hey guys, I thinks she's figured it out!" He calls his brothers.
Your eyes wide as the character seems to stare into your soul. The others gather into the screen. A mixture of smiles and anxiety are what stared back with animated eyes.
"I see. So she did... Ahem. Greetings, Darling!" Donatello says, clearly staving off his own anxiety.
"Hi..." You answer. You hoped this was a dream. Fear wrapped up into a ball in your gut. A feeling telling you to cut off the tv, to run far away and not look back ever again.
"Awww! She's so cute! Look at her eyes, they're so pretty!" Michaelangelo exclaims happily.
"We know dude. You're so cute doll. Really you are." Raphael addresses you with a nervous smile.
You look down in panic. The only logical thought is you had lost your mind. This is a dream, or you've snapped and this was a hallucination.
"What is happening?" You pant out. "This isn't happening. This cannot be happening..." Your breath ragged, and your voice hoarse. Tears gathering in your eyes.
They're faces shift in remorse and panic. Four animated eyes looking guiltily at you with frowns. Grimaces held by all as your body flies into a panic attack.
"Oh no, no. Don't cry, it's ok cariño. You're ok..." Leonardo coos at you in an attempt to calm you.
The others gather in on the "comfort". They're words prove worthless as you spiral further.
Finally gathering the courage you throw your phone at the tv in a frenzy. Perhaps not the best choice as the momentum and pressure crack your tv. Fizzles heard from inside the machine can be heard as the broken screen cuts off.
Sad for you, your nightmare doesn't end there.
So everyone’s been punching back for @somerandomdudelmao post. If you know, you know, and if you don’t where have you been? And I saw one of the reblog’s today of Casey and Donnie and it got the cogs in my brain running. So here is a potentially possible outcome for the future:
———————
Here’s the thing. Casey knew the fight was over. They had won and the Krang weren’t here anymore. Of course, the entire event hadn’t come without its own consequences. Most of downtown New York had been destroyed. People had been injured and people had died. The government had stepped in to take care of most of the tragedy. And the event itself made international news.
But Casey didn’t care about most of that. He wasn’t even sure what most of it meant, just the ramblings he heard from the family as they recovered. They hadn’t left the lair since that day. They couldn’t afford too. The city was in a state of panic, and all of them had sustained injuries, the worst of which being Leonardo.
He had been asleep for days. It was vital for recovery, Casey knew, but the whole thing made him incredibly nervous. Casey felt like a little kid again, sitting on a chair with his knees up to his chest, just watching him. Donatello rarely left Leo’s side either. His own injuries meant he needed attention, and with Leo out, he had the best medical expertise on the machines they’d hooked him up too. Casey often asked questions, which Donnie was eager to answer. That much was the same.
Casey had long since changed out of his resistance garb, being offered a variety of clothes from each of the boys. He never let go of his mask though. That was much too important to him. Gifts and reminders from all the people he loved most.
He was alone today. With Leo. Donatello had entrusted him with enough information for any sort of emergency. But it meant he was allowed to think. He fiddled with the mask in his hands, tracing the markings he had painted on and the scratches it had received out on the field. He let his legs fall into a cross-cross as he slipped the mask onto his face and turned it on. Uncle Tello had left many tidbits of information, recordings and plans for an eventual future where we had won. Not even in his wild imaginations could he have imagined that future in the past. And now there were a million things Casey wanted answered that weren’t saved on his Uncles little device. He had a favorite file, however. One he’d rewatched a million times before.
“Is it working?” He watched Uncle Tello tilt up the camera. Behind him were all the people he loved: Sensei Leonardo, Master Michelangelo, robotic Uncle Raph, Commander O’Niel, and himself.
“It may be older than us, but it still works,” Uncle Tello replied.
“The little red light is blinking right?” Master Michelangelo flew over, looking at the camera upside down with amazement. Uncle Tello pushed him outta the way.
“Despite its primitive nature, it seems to be completely intact. Nothing askew. It’s quite impressive. Great find, Casey Jones.”
Sensei scooped up the kid and ruffled his hair.
“There’s not much storage space left on the card, so we better make it short and sweet. How about a picture? For my archives.” Everybody gathered close together as the timer started counting down. “Everybody say: Genius Built Apparel rules!!”
The video stopped there. Paused on a picture of all of them together. Casey couldn’t help but let out a couple tears, hidden by the mask. It might have been the apocalypse, but it was familiar and comforting, and here, they had all been happy.
“Am I interrupting something?”
“Unc- Donatello!” Casey looked over, his view still obstructed by the photo paused on his screen. “No, no everything is fine, I was just-“ he pulled his mask off and wiped away whatever remnants of tears he had before he looked up at the turtle who had just entered the room. He didn’t have any of his tech on, using his wooden Bo staff to assist his walking, and his bandages had been covered by the presence of an oversized purple hoodie. Casey stared at him, “reliving old memories. Un- Donnie, are you feeling alright?” Casey stood up, panic ever present on the boys face.
Donnie just gave a perplexing look in response. “Are you?”
“I-“ The Krang are gone, Casey. This isn’t like when Uncle Tello got sick. This isn’t the same. There’s no way the Krang would’ve- could’ve. They couldn’t have. How would they? Tears fell down Casey’s face as he sat back down.
Donnie regretted asking the second he had. He wasn’t any good with this sort of stuff and he had clearly been crying before and now he was crying again. There was something on his mind. “I’ll go get Mikey-“
Casey grabbed Donnie’s hand, and his immediate response was to pull away, but he suppressed the urge when he felt how clammy Casey’s hands were, and how they shook just a little. “Uncle Tello, you- you aren’t going to die, are you?”
Donnie had never heard Casey call him that before. And he said it softly, and nervously, not even looking him in the eyes.
“You think a quarrel with an alien species is enough to get rid of me?”
Casey didn’t say anything. In fact what Donnie said didn’t seem to help the situation any at all. And Donnie was starting to put all the little pieces together. Something had happened to him in the future. Something not good.
“Casey, did something happen to me in the future? Did-“ he wasn’t sure if he should ask it but his curiosity took ahold of him, “did I die?”
Casey lurched forward and wrapped his arms around Donnie. Which was a surprising response, but all he needed to know the answer was yes. Despite how quickly it had happened, Casey was incredibly gentle about it. His hands still shook a little as he rested his head into Donnie’s chest.
Honestly, Donnie was a little upset by all this new information. He hadn’t survived the apocalypse, and he had been close to Casey Jones, who had to witness his death. He couldn’t imagine how crazy this entire week had been for Casey. Donnie still wasn’t sure what exactly caused this reaction from him, but slowly, he leaned down, grabbing around Casey’s back and hugging tightly.
Casey let out a breath and hugged tighter, absolutely collapsing, shaking incredibly and crying into Donnie’s favorite purple hoodie. Keep it together, the hoodie can always be washed. For once, Donnie didn’t need to wonder what to do, because this felt like enough. And no words needed to be said.
Only in Casey’s wildest dreams was he able to hug Uncle Tello again. He knew Donnie was never a big fan of physical affection but he’d always seemed to make an exception for him. Old or young, and for a minute it didn’t matter that this wasn’t the Donnie he knew. It didn’t matter that they were now the same age, or that Casey was actually taller. Or how he could feel Donnie loosening and trying to end it. No matter how long this moment was, it would never be long enough.
Galileo Galilei Main Story
Translations may not always capture the exact nuances or tone of the original text. Expect grammatical errors and inaccuracies.
Spoilers ahead. Not proofread.
Afterward, we carried Galileo, who was on the brink of death, into the mansion.
Arthur and Charles, who know their way around medicine, and Faust, who's an expert in anatomy and pharmacology, took over the treatment.
Arthur: "He barely made it. Luckily, he missed the vital spot."
Mitsuki: "Really? That's good to hear."
Charles: "But it doesn't change the fact that he's still in a dangerous condition. It's a wonder he's alive even now."
Faust: "Being half-vampire, his natural healing ability should be better than a human's, but he's unusually weakened."
After hearing their gloomy remarks, Comte thought it over.
Comte: "It might be the influence of the progenitor's miasma."
(Miasma…)
I recall the suffering Galileo and Vlad endured.
Comte: "The progenitor's miasma was painful even for us who were just there."
Comte: "Galileo's body was taken over, albeit for a short while."
Comte: "It's possible that his body was directly weakened by that time."
Mitsuki: "Is there no way to cure it?"
Comte: "I don't know. I hope it's something that will heal over time."
Comte shook his head apologetically.
With so little information about the progenitor itself, no one likely knew the solution.
Vlad: "That's probably why the progenitor sought a vessel."
Vlad: "I saw the body of an old man rotting away in that throne room. It's likely that the body couldn't withstand the miasma or the tremendous power."
Vlad: "The progenitor survived by transferring to a new host."
Leonardo: "Plus, the weapon Galileo used to stab himself is actually designed to kill vampires, which makes things even worse."
When the weapon was brought up, several people glanced over at Drake, who was also at the mansion.
Vlad: "There should only be one weapon in the world capable of killing a vampire, and it's a spear."
Vlad: "So, what exactly is your knife?"
Drake: "There's a lot of history behind it."
He shrugged his shoulders and gave a wry smile.
Drake: "Well, given the current situation, I have no intention of harming any of you."
Drake: "But we were driven by a desire to destroy the world. It's true that we were investigating you all."
Drake: "If you consider me dangerous, do whatever you want with me. I'm not going to run."
Drake: "Galileo probably has the same resolve."
(No way.)
Listening to their conversation, Leonardo sighed.
Leonardo: "I can't overlook what you were trying to do, but it's not our call to label you as dangerous."
Comte: "That's right. No one here has that right."
Mitsuki: "Also..."
After listening to their exchange, I spoke up.
Mitsuki: "I'm sure that simply judging someone isn't the answer."
Scenes of persecution and discrimination that I've witnessed flash through my mind.
I remember the kids whose lives were cut short just for being dhampirs—Miguel and Mireia, stuck in the slums, and Galileo, who got labeled a heretic.
I've seen the horror of judging based on race, ideology, biased information, and limited perspectives.
(I've pursued the truth with my own eyes since meeting Galileo.)
(I won't repeat the same mistakes from the past to stop the cycle of negativity.)
Mitsuki: "We mustn't turn away from the truths that Galileo and the dhampirs have experienced."
Mitsuki: "I want to embrace both anger and hatred and think together about the future of this world—regardless of the country, era, or race we come from."
Drake: "Mitsuki..."
(It'd be great if we could all be a bridge to everyone, just like Galileo wanted.)
(So, please live, Galileo.)
(This world may have made you despair many times, but there is surely a future where you will smile again. I will definitely find it for you.)
I want you to live. I want you to be happy.
I want to make you happy.
As I held on to these thoughts, the long night began to break.
Comte: "Regardless of the country, era, or race we come from, huh?"
Vlad: "Those were Mitsuki's words just now."
As the sun began to rise, Vlad and Comte exchanged words in front of the door that led to all beginnings, the one that guided the historical figures and Mitsuki.
Comte: "Hey, Vlad. We've crossed time through this door and resurrected historical men as vampires."
Comte: "I've started questioning our actions since the door began to warp. However, after hearing Mitsuki's words, it felt like continuing to walk even through this distorted fate would connect us to the future."
Vlad: "Yeah. And, beyond the differences in races, we will walk together."
Vlad: "Even if the idea of living forever goes against the principles of the world, everyone is still living in this world."
Galileo's condition repeatedly fluctuated, and he gradually began to stabilize.
However, no matter how much we tried, he didn't wake up, and many mornings and nights had passed.
Mitsuki: "Galileo, I'll place these blanc flowers here."
I placed the flowers in a vase on the table.
Right now, Galileo is sleeping in his room at the hideout.
------------Flashback-----------
Comte: "You want to take Galileo back to his home?"
Mitsuki: "Yes. He has a precious garden there."
Mitsuki: "It might be just a comfort, but I want to at least let him be close to it."
Comte: "I see. I understand. Maybe it'll have a good effect."
Comte: "I'll make preparations right away."
---------Flashback Ends--------
With Comte's arrangement, I continued to take care of Galileo at the hideout.
(Maybe the dhampirs can help him wake up through his dreams.)
I know it was a baseless and faint hope, but I was ready to believe in anything if there was even a small chance.
Mitsuki: "Do you remember? When I had a fever, you took care of me. Hehe, now it's the other way around."
Mitsuki: "Back then, your presence made me feel less anxious."
Even though I spoke to him and smiled, there was no response.
(If he were awake, I wonder how he would react.)
(He'd probably say 'I see' or something equally indifferent.)
Remembering his calm demeanor made me miss him, and a sense of sadness welled up.
After tidying up Galileo's stuff, I left the room.
Mitsuki: "Huh?"
In the living room, I noticed some unfamiliar luggage.
As I pondered what was happening, Draco suddenly flew in and placed his toy on top of the luggage.
Mitsuki: "Is this your luggage?"
Draco: "Captain! Sail! Captain! Sail!"
Mitsuki: "Huh? Sail?"
Drake: "You're a bit too early, Draco."
Turning around, I saw Drake smiling broadly.
Mitsuki: "Drake, you're leaving?"
Drake: "I was thinking of going on a journey after Galileo wakes up."
Mitsuki: "Where are you planning to go on this journey?"
Drake: "Hmm, where to? I haven't decided yet, so I don't know."
Drake: "But a journey without a destination can also be fun, yeah?"
His ambiguous response gave me a bad feeling.
(Could it be?)
Mitsuki: "Drake, are you planning on not coming back?"
He showed a thoughtful expression, then looked around the room as if to take it all in.
Drake: "Who knows? But I no longer have a reason to be here."
Drake: "I still think this world should be destroyed, but I don't have any reliable means to make that happen now."
Drake: "Whether I find a new way or not, I'm better off wandering in the sea."
Mitsuki: "But what about Galileo?"
Drake: "He has you."
He looked me straight in the eyes.
Drake: "You really are the woman of destiny, Mitsuki."
Drake: "In the end, you saved Galileo's life. No, you saved our lives."
Drake: "You changed the disastrous fate we were destined to follow."
Mitsuki: "But I hindered the paths you both were taking."
Galileo and Drake had joined hands because of their despair. You could say I hindered their wish.
Mitsuki: "Do you hate me?"
Drake: "No way."
He shrugged his shoulders as he said these words.
Drake: "I knew he was carrying too many burdens, but I chose not to interfere."
Drake: "No matter how heavy they were, he would never put them down. It was his reason for living."
(His reason for living? That might be true.)
The many regrets that were too heavy to bear but impossible to let go were keeping Galileo alive.
Drake: "But if there's someone like you who understands everything and is willing to accept even his desire for destruction, then he might be able to gradually let it go."
Drake: "You've constantly clashed with Galileo's stubborn heart without giving up."
Drake: "You brought him back when he was about to get lost. Thank you, little fawn."
Mitsuki: "Drake..."
I wasn't sure if it was the joy of hearing those words or the sadness of the sudden farewell, but my eyes started to well up.
Drake: "Oh, by the way, I've got a stash of gold and silver hidden somewhere here. Feel free to use it if you find them. My parting gift for you."
Mitsuki: "Hey, Drake..."
Drake: "And Galileo will wake up soon! It's just a hunch, but even a bit of hope is better, right?"
Mitsuki: "Come on, listen. Galileo needs you."
Mitsuki: "You were the only comrade he saved, a companion who shared the same hopes and dreams."
Drake: "......."
My persistent words are met with a determined silence.
Mitsuki: "But still, if you're really going to leave, then be sure to come back someday. Galileo and I will be waiting for you."
When I conveyed my heartfelt wish, he gently patted my head.
Drake: "Well, if I feel like it."
Drake laughed like he didn't have a worry in the world.
It was a bright, sunny day with a clear blue sky.
Mitsuki: "It's a nice day today, Galileo. Look, the midday moon is out."
Sidereus: "Woof!"
I visited his room and opened the window.
Sidereus, who had followed me, sniffed the gentle breeze, while Galileo's silvery hair swayed and shimmered faintly in the wind.
However, his eyelashes didn't flutter at all.
(How long has it been since I've seen Galileo's eyes?)
A dark shadow started to fall over my heart, but I shook it off.
Mitsuki: "Maybe I'll do some cleaning. Though it's already tidy and clean."
I gave Sidereus a treat and sent him to another room, then started to clean.
While dusting off the desk, I accidentally knocked over the flower vase.
Mitsuki: "Crap!"
The spilled water trickled down to the drawer, so I opened it to check if any had gotten inside.
Mitsuki: "Yeah, it's wet. Huh?"
I noticed an old, folded paper crane stored inside.
Mitsuki: "This origami crane..."
It was a plain origami crane folded from white paper with no distinguishing features.
But the moment I held it, distant memories came rushing back like twinkling stars.
------------Flashback-----------
Galileo: "Are you okay?"
Mitsuki: "I-I'm okay."
Galileo: "Ah, at last I—"
Hearing the gentle voice from above, I lifted my head.
Galileo: "Have I managed to save someone?"
---------Flashback Ends--------
Mitsuki: "No way."
The warmth of his embrace, the paper crane I offered to express my gratitude, and the beautiful eyes from my memories, now overlapped with his amethyst eyes.
(Was he the one who saved me when I was a kid?)
Mitsuki: "Could it be..."
Recalling the last words we exchanged, I looked back at him sleeping.
(Did he know?)
Did he know that we had met long ago?
Did he know that he saved me back then?
This miraculous fate brought us together once more across time.
Mitsuki: "It's unfair that you kept it a secret all this time."
How should I express this feeling?
How should I tell him that these precious feelings born within me were all directed towards him?
Mitsuki: "Galileo."
I knelt beside the bed and held his hand.
Mitsuki: "Please wake up, Galileo."
Mitsuki: "I have so many things I want to ask you and talk about."
Through my blurring tears, his profile looked pale, and the hand I brushed against my cheek felt cold.
At that moment, as I fervently wished for his awakening, his fingertips moved slightly.
Mitsuki: "Galileo!!"
the guys find out you have a mask k!nk (21+ minors dni!) bayverse turts! x reader
i have not fallen off the face of the earth! i have just FINALLY found the time to write after my classes ended for summer and even though it’s not something i’d normally write, i think it’s… fitting. :) ~ + it’s not because i’m also obsessed with ghost and konig from cod haha what
⚠️: mature themes; minors dni, mentions of an obvious mask kink, sexual innuendos, the devils tango doesn’t happen here sorry guys :( #notactuallysorry, characters are all of adult age (18+)
💙Leonardo💙
You and Leonardo had always been straightforward and open, from the moment the two of you became acquaintances, to best friends, to now partners. You both felt that communication was key— a key that was necessary to keeping your relationship alive and full of excitement as well as respect (along with the other vital roles!) So, when the time came that both of you were comfortable and ready to go all the way with one another, you both had a conversation about what you were both into, not cool with, possibilities, etcs, and that was that.
Except one thing.
You had been embarrassed to admit to a certain turn-on due to the fact that you didn’t think that Leo would understand.
Masks.
He wore one everyday, how he possibly understand?
The thought drove you insane until one night, when the two of you were getting freaky and Leonardo started to undo his mask, you boldly piped up.
“Leave the mask on.”
He stared at you, almost in bewilderment before his lips twitched into a smirk. He was onto you.
He didn’t question you on it right then— oh how dare he kill the mood! No, he waited until the two of you had gone four rounds and laid next to each other, panting.
You curled up into his side and he now draped his arm over you before opening his mouth.
“Again?”
“No.”
“Alright….”
Silence.
“A mask kink, huh?”
“Shut up!”
“All I’m saying is, I could’ve gotten so much more by leaving it on than by taking it off this entire time and you didn’t tell me!”
❤️Raphael❤️
It was summertime and you had managed to be able to snag a couple of nights off to be able to spend some time with your lovely partner, Raphael.
You two had been dating roughly after the technodrome and Kraang paid a visit to NYC, and not much longer after that is when you two started going at it ya freaks. You were both secure in the relationship, both had a healthy intimate life with one another and with yourselves if times were tough.
You being you, you had an unhealthy habit of not clearing your search history after naughty content, and will tend to forget about it until you need to search something on your phone— which isn’t that common with Donnie around.
So, whilst in the midst of spending one of your summertime eves with Raphael in the confinement of your apartment, you get up to go to the bathroom while he is watching a TV show on the television in front of you two. Confused by what the show had just ended on, he thought he had grabbed his phone to search the show for answers and whenever he pulled the browser up, his gaze was met of that which contained mask kink galore.
Raphael set your phone down, the website still pulled up as you hummed your way back into the room and once your eyes met the screen and then his, all he did was smirk and pat his lap.
“You got some ‘splainin’ to do.”
💜Donatello💜
You had always found it weird that you thought masks were such a sweet spot for you. You didn’t think that it could be considered a kink to like masks in the bedroom, or that the whole idea of kinks had just never been properly explained to you, so the conversations about them always made you feel awkward.
It took you a while to truly feel okay with just learning what you think you would like as far as kinks go, and once you found out that masks were a kink that others had, you felt a little less weird about the whole situation.
Not to mention that whenever you and Donnie started dating, you couldn’t help but imagine all the things he could do to you, simply because of the purple friggin mask on his face~. He never noticed how zoned out you would get around him until he had to draw you out of it.
Whenever he did find out was the time that the two of you finally decided to do the deed. He had felt like you wanted him to take his mask off, ironically, until you stopped him and asked him to keep it on. He didn’t think anything of it, but you overthought your request and had to explain it to him a few times that night that you felt like you were attracted to masks and needed a little bit a reassurance, which the turtle was very happy to give.
After finding that tidbit out, he was more than happy to surprise you every now and again with different masks to spice things up in the bedroom when he felt like his purple eye mask was getting too boring. (which it never was but-)
🧡Michelangelo🧡
You were not subtle in letting Mikey know that you had a mask kink.
You didn’t even know you had a mask kink.
The mask kink let you know that it had you.
Anywho, let me tell you the story.
Mikey was bragging about getting his hands on the newest copy of COD: MWII and had been playing it ever since he had gotten it.
You had been laying behind him watching tiktok during the time that everybody and their mother’s were falling head over heels for Ghost, König, or both, and making edits of them.
You had fallen into this trap and of course with your partner playing the exact game… you made him restart so that you could see Ghost in ALL of his glory.
Mask and ALL.
You had never once paid so much attention to a mask before until this very moment and made it known to Mikey that you really liked Ghost’s mask, and then you turned to Mikey.
Low and behold, he’s wearing a mask.
And goddamn you are turned on.
“Mikey, turn the game off.”
“But! I just restarted!”
“I said turn it off!”
“Okay!!!”
Mikay could not have been any less prepared for that evening than he was.
Mikey’s sucks I’m sorry—
Splinter Vanishes is one of the saddest episodes in any tmnt canon, to me
obviously it's a very different style of storytelling than, say, SAINW
but. like.
they're just so sad guys, and it brings attention to some of the really personal and difficult realities of their existence that are usually ignored or played for laughs, because it's a comedy
But Splinter calling himself their teacher and the video he left saying 'I am no longer your teacher and it's time to find your own way--' painful reminded that the 1987 turtles and Splinter, while they always act as a family, don't have a solidified assurance of it. Shredder was also once Splinter's student. Splinter used to be human. This isn't the only time where we see the turtles thinking that he not only might, but perhaps even should, leave them someday.
And the way they mutated into teenagers, turtle ages being different from human ages messing with their normal developmental stages and kind of robbing them of a childhood. Or at least making it confusing for themselves and Splinter exactly what milestones they should be hitting or what is age appropriate expectations. Like it's not ever textual but this is one of those episodes that makes me think 'oh,, they're young for their age in so many ways and old for their age in others, and everyone expects them to act old for their age and protect the city but no one seems to remember about the ways they're developmentally behind because of what they went through and actually need extra support' (childhood trauma) (it's fine I'm fine no tears here)
Like they've never acted more like anxious young teens in need of security and validation than in the episode where they all get jobs. Which Leonardo literally says he did in order to pay for pizza
Even just the way Leonardo and Michelangelo were so determined to obey Splinter, just like speaking as a teacher comes across to me so much more 12 or 13 (only just grew out of obedience being a vital survival skill) vs 16-17 (how old they usually seem to me based on what they get up to and how they act). Raphael and Donatello's protests also comes across younger than usual. And this is a very vulnerable moment for them so it makes sense that they seem a bit more like kids, but it really makes it seem that much more concerning when they all go out and get jobs
Leonardo tells April he'd like to visit Donatello with her but work is keeping him too busy
Raphael is so embarrassed by April seeing him at the birthday party, and normally an embarrassed Raphael would be sassy but he's just so depressed
Donatello watches whatever cooking show Michelangelo goes on. And later after his shop gets blown up and a strange car pulls up--clearly there to kidnap him--he walks right up and is very easy to kidnap because he's fully expecting that after experiencing something scary his brothers have come to check on him
Michelangelo had been fired from five cooking shows and keeps getting himself hired at another. He's sixteen. Again this is highlighting something they always deal with which is that the press uses them however is convenient, as spectacles or scapegoats. In this case it's the fact that a sixteen-year-old who keeps getting fired from these shows is hired again, and it's not textual but it makes me think about more Bern Thompsons who are thinking about the views from having a turtle on their show even if he only lasts one episode. And the fact that he gets taken advantage of in that way while he's in such a vulnerable state
Same thing with Raphael's birthday party gig
To a lesser extent Leonardo's fitness training, too, like maybe it's less intimidating to sign up for a class if instead of saying to yourself 'I need to get in shape' you can say 'whoa a talking turtle, I gotta see what this is like'
And they're so sad the while time they're apart guys
Day 5 of @traumas-tmntober-2024 A Horrible Accident
Siege of the Dying
Leonardo is a proffesional field medic. His limits are still tested and a lot has to happen to fully snap. Explore twenty-one hours of how and why Leo loses all hope.
OR
Leo is a stressed medic, people die and he falls deeper into the slums as Mikey wont take care of himself or his ninpo.
CW: Includes depictions of blood, light gore, needles, syringes, IVs, oxygen masks, death, asphyxiation, medical malpractise, burns, improvised medications, partial decapitation, restraints and other medical equipment. Please do not read if any of this is triggering. Take care of yourselves.
Word Count: 3956
Hour Zero.
The base was running as smoothly as it could in the apocalypse. The squad's still recovering from earlier missions were asleep in their dorms. Squad 7 and 8 were up and about getting ready to be deployed. Those not needed but not resting were doing their other duties or finding ways to still have fun during the end of the world.
There was a sense of unease though. It had been over half an hour since Squad 6 were meant to have returned. That wasn't particularly unusual and it could even mean something good. Last time this had happened they'd found a huge bunker filled with survivors and taken them to the closer sister camp before returning with the supplies they'd scrounged up and traded for.
It was when an alarm suddenly blared that Leo realised it was not for anything good. That alarm was specialised as a medical emergency. He barely had a moment to stand up and leave the meeting room when the doors burst open and a haze of people swarmed in. Shit.
Hour One.
The alarm had been turned off but the noise was still overwhelming. Wails and screams clashed with heart monitors, vital readings and loud orders he could hear himself yelling. He was attaching an IV drip to a man with his leg up to his mid thigh torn off and burns all over him. Behind him he could hear the heart monitor flatline as one of his self-trained team administered CPR. The yokai kept going but Leo could already tell they weren't coming back.
Two new people were dragged in when He told someone to go grab Michelangelo. Kraang possession in the early stages: incomplete. He had them restrained by some of the soldiers from Squad 9 that were pulled in to help as he started to cauterise the man's leg in front of him, far too early for the pain medication to have settled in but he didn't have the time.
There were 6 people being treated for large stab and slash wounds and many if those and others had third and fourth degree burns and other lacerations that needed attending to and his small team of 4 wasn't enough. He quickly cut the remaining of the bottoms off of the poor man and called one of his medi-students over, handing them the tablet.
“I need to know if this man has any history listed with hypokalemia, kidney stones or other lactic acidosis. Anything that would oppose use of Ringer's lactate?” Leo started pulling the solution into the syringe. Even if this man did need another solution instead there were so many burn victims at least one of them could benefit from it.
“He does not, Master.”
There was no hesitation then when he injected the delirious man with the solution and grabbed the cold compresses one of his team must have retrieved. A lot of the skin was burned but very little seemed to be fourth degree. Most of it was third or blistering deeply in second degree which he could work with.
The screams of the Kraang-ified patients hadn't died down any and as more of the squad got dragged in, wails only amplified. Their limited supplies were sure to dwindle to unmanageable before everyone even got seen to. Leo would have to hold back on pain medication for a few of the patients with lesser issues so it would go further.
A female lizard yokai and a male bull yokai were taken out of the medical wing and the loud flatlines had been replaced with beating hearts. Their passings couldn't even be respected until they were out of sight before the resources were redistributed to those that still needed them. Another cruel truth of the apocalypse. Before he could zone out he bit his tongue hard and kept himself grounded.
Once he had directed one of his team to finish taking care of the man he moved onto a bear yokai that had just been hooked up to a heart monitor. He had his work cut out for him. He was no dermatologist so the face wounds he was about to treat were likely to scar deeply.
Hour Four.
Leo was now helping treat those affected by the Kraang. The Kraang possession hadn’t completed, but he could see the telltale bulging veins creeping up the patient’s neck, turning black under the skin. Their eyes flickered with unnatural yellow sclera. Part yokai, part Kraang, trapped in between. It was their job to bring them back to just yokai.
The warm orange glow of Mikey's ninpo was easy to work in. He'd been going for almost 3 hours, pushing the Kraang out of their heads but Leo was trying to help where he could. They had long been strapped down but IVs and sedations had managed to aid them slightly.
Currently, one of the IV’s drip chamber had filled with fluid so Leo tipped it upside down and tapped it as it reset. Something he deemed doable without any medical knowledge but his brother needed him as well so he took on menial tasks for the moment. His baby brother flickered in and out of his connection for a moment before glowing stronger. That kid knew how to make him worry.
Hour Seven
The smell started to make him dizzy. Blood, pus, chemicals, body odour and more all swirled in a poisonous concoction that threatened to distract him. The woman beneath his hands stared icily back at him. CPR had failed, the defibrillator had failed and now she was dead. She had departed.
How many more times could he close someone’s eyes, knowing they wouldn't open again? This woman had joked with him just two hours earlier when he was treating her a bit before she went into shock. Everyone that had departed today had stories of their lives, some even where Leo had interacted with them before they arrived at their deathbed. Like the bear yokai that helped in the kitchen. Leo’s hands shook, but he couldn’t afford weakness now. He had to press on.
He still didn't continue to act until one of his medics came up to him with a clipboard. “Master, could we spare some pain killers for Marilyn?”
Leo smiled softly. The young girl in front of him suddenly seemed 17 again and not 25. He knew how it felt to treat family and friends and wanted to give them care first and only the best but they couldn't afford that right now.
Supplies were dwindling faster than expected. Leo and his team were already forced to make gut-wrenching choices about who gets treatment and who doesn't. He was sure at least three deaths today was because of inadequate supplies and equipment and that reflected deeply on his soul. He placed a hand on her shoulder and lightly squeezed.
“I know you want them to go to your sister, Penny but we can't afford to give medicine to anyone who doesn't absolutely need any right now. It's-”
Leo was cut off when another of his medics came to grab him for an emergency surgery. He rushed over and assessed the situation and found out it was another sacrifice case. The patient had seen others suffering and had hidden a bullet wound for approximately 8 hours with just pressure, the wound having started healing but barely.
“Well, he's gonna have to use those pain killers. It's not severe enough to need anaesthesia.” Leo went to wash his hands quickly as the patient was injected and surgical tools were readied.
Once he returned the patient was crying less but still whimpering. Leo let one of his team pull his gloves on before dismissing them to check on the vomiting case on the other side of the medbay. He sighed before starting digging in with some tools to get the bullet out. There wasn't many bullet wounds they saw nowadays but friendly fire was still common enough that Leo let himself zone out and follow well practised steps without focusing too hard.
His back and arms and neck and feet and calves and- Okay, everything hurt and his pounding headache was only getting worse but he had responsibility. He had to lead his team and the resistance through this hiccup. This wasn't their first rodeo. It wasn't even in the double but instead triple digits of how many times they'd done this. They were a well oiled machine but it still took its toll on him.
Leo let the repetitive and familiar motions cloud the noise in his head and drown out the shrieks still echoing the far too cramped room.
Hour Nine.
The Kraang possession was spreading. There was a winged yokai of some kind that was closest to the original two that were possessed that they'd managed to infect. That had gone unnoticed until they had already started twitching and whispering erratically and had managed to infect two more.
That's when they had finally started quarantining patients. They had to fully ban visitors and barricade off the medbay doors. Before they did that though there were a few soldiers that volunteered to help the medics. They all had basic first aid knowledge and could certainly cut down work such as running around to get stuff or straining themselves surveilling peoples conditions as much so Leo accepted them onto the team. This increased his team from 4 medics to 4 medics and 5 helpers. They set up sheets and had the kraang infected squished into the farthest corner segregated off completely.
He was down a medic now as one had to stay in there to keep the infected down and to make sure Mikey was uninterrupted and wasn't a risk as he stretched his ninpo further. Reaching between five people was positively going to put great strain on his body, mind and mystics. Riley promised to keep his Master and peers safe. He trusted him.
After the scare though the rest of his team and himself worked on organising the medbay more into sectors and keeping them segregated. The moment of calm was a haven after the chaos so far. They took this down time as a moment to put the most at risk on the opposite side to the Kraang and further separated by curtains. The ones with serious injuries but were stable were next to the Kraang separated by a foot and doubled up curtains and opposing the Kraang were serious injuries that were still being treated and were unstable or too intermittent with stability.
That was all the space they had, they couldn't separate by burns or wounds or surgical concerns further. They had a small section where all the medical supplies were pushed to to create room for the patients. Leo sat against a tiny amount of spare wall they had and sunk to the ground. It hadn't lasted a full minute before he was needed for resuscitation.
Hour Thirteen.
Alarms blared and echoed off of his clinic's walls, it disturbed him and his patients. It filled them all with fear quickly and he had to stop many of the delirious injured from jumping at the siren. He was sure every single person in the resistance would wake from deep sleep at that alarm that let them know the Kraang were attacking the base. They'd either been found or were close to being discovered.
Leo wanted to curse the cruel God that was playing with their lives that had let this happen but he'd rather God hesitate before condemning him to hell. That was how Leo found himself stood in front of the poorly barricaded door being shouted at.
“What are you doing?” One soldier exclaimed.
“We need to go help them now!” Another added, “There won't be any injured or sick to heal if we just don't fight!”
“It's a matter of responsibility. I swore to the resistance.” Yet another exclaimed.
Leo pinched the bridge of his beak. If he let them go he'd only have five more to heal but if they each took out a hound dog before that that is almost a quarter of a usual hoard. They weren't weak either, they could handle themselves enough. He'd be really understaffed though. Why was he made the leader again?
“Alright. Four of you can go and one of you can stay and aid my team. Alice,” *He pointed at the hyena yokai. “You are to stay, you are my quickest runner and I need that right now. Help me take this barricade down.” He ordered.
Once the soldiers left they did a quick loop of everyone. Leo had to amputate someone's hand and resuscitate two people whilst they did rounds. He asked Alice to count up their remaining supply when she had a moment before he walked off.
Leo entered the Kraang-ified section. Mikey’s ninpo is powerful, that was a well-known fact but it’s also draining. By now he's been pushing himself for hours, and the physical toll starts to show. His eyes had sunken in deeply, his hair was matted and had thick clumps of grey among the jet black. A sheen of mystic that resembled sweat was bubbling on his skin which drew his eyes to Mikey's hands, trembling. He dismissed Riley to go check on other duties.
Leo grabbed his brother and manoeuvred him easily as he floated down. This seemed to break his concentration and he blinked his eyes open wearily.
“Hey, baby bro. You've been busy.” He grinned but it faltered as Mikey touched down and fell into his arms like dead weight. He'd collapsed in his arms and Leo almost panicked. He slowly lowered Mikey to the ground gently, aware of his shell so he didn't tip and raised his legs, propping them on a chair.
Mikey was out for just a few minutes before he woke up. Leo had fetched water and had pulled out a granola bar before he had woken up. “You back with me Mike?”
Mikey groaned.
“I hear ya. Take your time. You collapsed due to mystic exhaustion- I'm not happy about that b-t-dubs.”
“Wouldn't expect nothin’ less, bro.” It took a short while before Mikey sat up and gulped the water down and scarfed the homemade granola down like a dying man. Leo had seen many today alone. Leo shuffled on the uncomfortable floor and held an arm out, catching Mikey as he dove for it.
He laughed. “Thanks Mikey. I needed this.”
“You've been working so hard! You deserve it.”
“So have you, you little brat!”
Mikey stayed silent and looked up to the victims. They were quieter now, heavily sedated but still awake. A horrific purgatory they had to endure because their bodies couldn't handle anything stronger but the Kraang in them wasn't subdued by chemicals so weak.
“I think it's time we let them go. It hasn't taken you this long to heal an infected since you first tried.” Leo held a finger up as Mikey tried to interject. “I know it's your first time spreading it across five people at once but that's why I think it won't be worth it.”
Leo bundled Mikey into his arms and stood up. He looked towards the first two infected. “Any longer and they will be fully turned and you won't have the time nor energy to heal the other three left. You'd have to choose just one to save and that likely won't work and you won't be able to choose who deserves to live. Any way you slice it, at minimum, four people will be consumed today.”
“I can't just let them die, Leo! I can't!” Soothing circles were rubbed into his shell as he held back sobs. They were middle aged turtles who had seen this countless times. Mikey thought he had no reason to be crying.
“I know you want to save them, I do too but it'd be more merciful to put them out of their misery before the corrosion chemicals are needed to kill them. At least this way their family has a body to bury.”
Mikey let this information rattle in his skull. Just as he was about to protest further, a burst of chaos and ear bursting noise cascaded.
“I'll leave you for now but wait at least 20 minutes before doing any mystic mojo, okay?” Leo rushed as he set Mikey down.
Hour Sixteen.
Leo stepped over a sixteen year old soldier's leg as he rushed to a woman who was asphyxiating. They had long since stopped being able to make epi pens but they had managed to make piriton and piriteze. He forced 10 tablets down the human's throat and monitored her closely, whispering reassurances to her.
The wave of those injured was far too large for his medbay now. People were now in chairs and sprawled over the floor completely unorganised and haphazardly, clinging to each other in pain as blood poured everywhere. As he was waiting for the women to return to normal breathing the doors burst open again.
One of the commanders stumbled in, dragging her mangled arm behind her. 'We held them back... but barely.' Leo’s heart sank as another wave of the wounded flooded in after her.
The med bay was completely swamped and his tiny team was struggling. He poked his head into the quarantined Kraang area to grab his medic when he witnessed it. Just at that moment, the Kraang overpowered their restraints and slashed his medic's neck. It was so deep he could see the bone clearer than an x-ray.
He was dead. His corpse slumped to the floor. If we weren't already dead the snap his neck had upon impact would've done it. He dragged Mikey out of there, and let go of him to float around the medbay as he rushed to grab the tranq dart modified with that specialised corrosive acid he was often thanking more than God.
He injected it into the infected's blood stream with great difficulty but somehow he'd done it with no injury and minimal damage. He then grabbed some solutions with basic chemicals like potassium at a degree too high to function and injected it into the other kraang infected that hadn't yet been consumed.
The life peacefully drained out of the second but the skin was starting to corrode of the first. It was a gruesome sight as it mangled with his medic's blood. He decided to just let the rest go and call time of death. They were too far gone to survive and they'd suffer greatly if by some miracle they did.
Leo had exited the quarantine to find Mikey patching Donnie up from presumably a slash wound. It'd likely only be another fifteen-to-twenty minutes before he'd be discharged and forced to leave the slummed clinic. Leo gave them a curt nod before addressing a few others to clear up the bodies so he could use the space to treat others.
He stared off as he thought back to how he reacted. He tried to justify what he did. It wasn't retaliation, it was logical. It was survival. There was no ethical debate needed. This wasn't one of the things that made Leo an awful person. Yes the young boy he cared for had been killed but he had acted in best faith to his now deceased patient. He wasn't showing malpractice with bias- Hah! Even if he was, who was gonna fire him?
The weight of it all felt like it would crush him. Another dead body. Another life he couldn’t save. Was this all they were doomed to now? A slow march toward extinction? That was a thought that he kept having over the years and it only felt more and more true. They weren't resisting the Kraang to save the Earth. They were simply fighting extinction. It was a bitter thought that would have had Raoh slap him around the back of the head for were he here.
Hour Nineteen.
Leo was close to losing it. Twelve people dead and removed. Three amputations. Seven were hooked up to oxygen masks and IVs. Fourteen people had regular infections that could turn deadly any second on top of their wounds. Six more people had started showing early signs of Kraang infection.
Leo wasn't sure if he was stressed or getting ill. They had run out of masks months ago and gloves and sanitisation can only go so far when someone coughs wet blood in your face. He was stretched even thinner with the huge crowd of people demanding severe medical care. It was just short of 200 spread across his 3 trained medics and Alice, still helping out.
Mikey had recovered enough to start working on the few in the early stages of infection when Donateelo returned. The vang of the doors almost made him snap angrily when he saw eight people enter. Medics from their sister-resistance.
He was so happy he could cry. He would do that late when he didn't have to give them the run down and delegate them accordingly. In a matter of moments things were looking up and seeming less bleak. If they were lucky he wouldn't have to hear anyone else's pulse stop today.
Hour Twenty-one.
Suddenly, the doors to the medical wing slammed open, and a soldier from Squad 8 burst in, her armour scorched and cracked. She was panting heavily, eyes wild with panic. "Leo—you need to come outside. Now."
He felt a pit form in his stomach, but he forced himself to follow. He had the ability to now with the miraculous medical reinforcements but he still didn't feel good about it. He stepped out into the open air, his mind reeling from the thick smell of burning metal and ash. Soldiers were standing on the walls of the base, their weapons pointed at the horizon.
“What’s going on?” Leo demanded, striding toward the rampart where the squad leader, Darius, stood with his binoculars glued to his face.
Darius handed them over without a word, his expression grim. Leo hesitated before bringing the binoculars to his eyes. What he saw made his blood run cold.
In the distance, the horizon wasn’t clear. It shimmered, a sea of unnatural movement. Hundreds.. No. Thousands! Thousands! A hoard thrice the size they were used to. Kraang-mutated yokai, humans and objects, their bodies and shapes warped and grotesque, shambled toward the base in a relentless, unified swarm. Their glowing yellow eyes flickered in the permanently pink sky, pulsing like sickening stars.
At the centre of the swarm, a towering Kraang general stood, easily three times the size of any other yokai. Its body was a mass of writhing tendrils and armoured plates. It towered over the Kraang that piloted it and the robotic head was vibrant with its blood red light. Piloting the grotesque hive mind.
“They’re coming straight for us,” Darius muttered. “And there’s no way we can hold them back for long. Not in this state.”
Leo’s heart raced. They were barely holding things together with the wounded they had now. If that swarm hit the base, they wouldn't just be out of supplies—they’d be overrun. His mind raced as he considered the dwindling stock of medicine, the exhausted soldiers, and the Kraang-possessed patients already inside.
“Time?” Leo managed to ask, his voice hoarse.
“Two hours, maybe less,” Darius replied.
Two hours. Two hours before that mass of corrupted bodies would be at their gates, clawing and tearing at everything in its path.
Leo lowered the binoculars and turned back toward the medical wing, his thoughts racing. They couldn’t survive this. Not without a miracle. But he didn't ask for miracles.
They had to evacuate.
If the writing style flops around its probably because I was flopping inbetween writing about Marxism and Neo-Marxist theories and the Catholic Church's involvement in poverty and opression and the revolustionist priests and then flopping back to writing about Leo's inner turmoil. Tonal whiplash for me.
HEYY!! So this was a doozy!! I spent a lot of the day writing this and have researched it as much as I could but who knew getting medical information about ringers lactate replacements and fourth degree burn treatments wouldn't be public info?
The original idea for this fic was to take the easy way out and write about Leo or Raph losing their arm in the apocalypse or out of it but then I sae another medic Leo post and got INSPIRATION!! (Dangerous).
Instead of pre-writting tomorrow's fic I decided to write this one as doubky long and I don't regret it. Wish I could leave it longer, I skipped a lot!!
Its so clear I have a favourite Rise Turtle sjbsjff!
Comments are much appreciated!!
