![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/40b653d79e111a47dab94e937bf8b0cd/f8c20d09bcf0bce0-ba/s540x810/6647039d2756730e9131829b87cbb21b55838e7e.jpg)
The 96th Academy Awards, a.k.a. The Oscars®, are set to happen on March 11 at 4:30 AM IST. The celebrations of the Oscar season are at their full peak. Amid the fun and excitement - and less than 24 hours for the ceremony to start, here's a look at the movie categories and our predictions of the winners. These are predictions based on the trends, previous award ceremonies this year (like Golden Globes, BAFTA, Critics Choice, and SAG), and the winners - along with my perspective. So sit back and stay with me till the end:-
P.S. SPOILER ALERT!!!!

Prediction: Oppenheimer
It's highly doubtful that the Academy would not give the highest honor to Nolan's cinematic masterpiece of the year. Not doing so would lead to havoc.
Best Director
Nominees:
Justine Triet – Anatomy of a Fall
Martin Scorsese – Killers of the Flower Moon
Christopher Nolan – Oppenheimer
Yorgos Lanthimos – Poor Things
Jonathan Glazer – The Zone of Interest
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/0a44ef5bc2658a54636978865cff0476/f8c20d09bcf0bce0-39/s540x810/6148762f47a7a418dbb70090b7c25dda59f7cb12.jpg)
Prediction: Christopher Nolan
Nolan has given the ultimate blockbuster of the year - a period film with intense acting and technical excellence. It's time to make up for the snubs of the past.
Best Actor
Nominees:
Bradley Cooper – Maestro as Leonard Bernstein
Colman Domingo – Rustin as Bayard Rustin
Paul Giamatti – The Holdovers as Paul Hunham
Cillian Murphy – Oppenheimer as J. Robert Oppenheimer
Jeffrey Wright – American Fiction as Thelonious "Monk" Ellison
Prediction(s): Cillian Murphy
With his wins at the Golden Globe, BAFTA, and the SAG, it's time for the Irishman to get the golden man for his first role as a leading man in a Nolan (after playing supporting or character roles in movies like The Dark Night Trilogy, Inception, and Dunkirk).
Best Actress
Nominees:
Annette Bening – Nyad as Diana Nyad
Lily Gladstone – Killers of the Flower Moon as Mollie Burkhart
Sandra Hüller – Anatomy of a Fall as Sandra Voyter
Carey Mulligan – Maestro as Felicia Montealegre
Emma Stone – Poor Things as Bella Baxter
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/cac15f52894af5f451102d251fed05a0/f8c20d09bcf0bce0-d7/s540x810/5e7869d75305f4cccde0e3ab5eef8856488c5be9.jpg)
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/9cea7b9ca1ba9e10955eef2dd02040ef/f8c20d09bcf0bce0-ff/s540x810/5c91458de63ff9bcb29edc8992381f4a40b8d24b.jpg)
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/02a14e282bde4e1e39a60403d1841385/f8c20d09bcf0bce0-ae/s540x810/160d075adf6d332b4ffed7066073ba4a4c590d78.jpg)
Prediction(s): Emma Stone/Lily Gladstone/Sandra Hüller
The competition for best actress is intense - as Gladstone has showcased her method acting (which might make her the first Native American to win the trophy). Meanwhile, Stone's feminist portrayal of a woman on her purpose to stand for equality and liberation seems Oscar-worthy (with her acting wins this year). Hüller, on the other hand, has given a breathtaking performance in the trilingual thriller.
Best Supporting Actor
Nominees:
Sterling K. Brown – American Fiction as Clifford "Cliff" Ellison
Robert De Niro – Killers of the Flower Moon as William King Hale
Robert Downey Jr. – Oppenheimer as Lewis Strauss
Ryan Gosling – Barbie as Ken
Mark Ruffalo – Poor Things as Duncan Wedderburn
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/1919f3953249107a4a8716365459e137/f8c20d09bcf0bce0-3f/s540x810/a5d409d0a3833b2bc88ab7fd934c7234e1dd9629.jpg)
Prediction(s): Robert Downey Jr
RDJ might be memorable for Tony Stark/Iron Man. However, it's his portrayal of Strauss that's going to win this year. With two previous nominations (including one for portraying Charlie Chaplin), RDJ would likely be the first Marvel hero to win the Golden Man. He would also repeat the feat of Actor-Supporting Actor wins for the same film - after 1959's Ben Hur (Charlton Heston - Charles Laughton), 2003's Mystic River (Sean Penn - Tim Robbins), and 2013's Dallas Buyers Club (Matthew McCoughnahey - Jared Leto).
Best Supporting Actress
Nominees:
Emily Blunt – Oppenheimer as Kitty Oppenheimer
Danielle Brooks – The Color Purple as Sofia
America Ferrera – Barbie as Gloria
Jodie Foster – Nyad as Bonnie Stoll
Da'Vine Joy Randolph – The Holdovers as Mary Lamb
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/6ac0f385dfb6f13b02e995c2b0dcac00/f8c20d09bcf0bce0-0b/s540x810/a7620aaa19d57ec5fe323af6cafb598d8745a8b2.jpg)
Prediction(s): Da'Vine Joy Randolph
Randolph's portrayal of a grieving mother stuck in a boarding school during the holiday season involves her comedic timing and emotional depth.
Best Original Screenplay
Nominees:
Anatomy of a Fall – Justine Triet and Arthur Harari
The Holdovers – David Hemingson
Maestro – Bradley Cooper and Josh Singer
May December – Screenplay by Samy Burch; Story by Samy Burch and Alex Mechanik
Past Lives – Celine Song
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/3e9d52eacb294761317dbcd919534882/f8c20d09bcf0bce0-c3/s540x810/53e5a4c79c9ea3fc603c9b65c4d80c00e04af794.jpg)
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/a9e19a33e42515c6d6c8e93e09d55923/f8c20d09bcf0bce0-6c/s540x810/6f2f3665387fa6296e5b007f950984e227df1444.jpg)
Prediction(s): Anatomy of A Fall/The Holdovers
While the former is this year's Palme d'Or winner and Golden Globe-winning screenplay, the latter is what would become a holiday classic. It's going to be a tough contest between the two films.
Best Adapted Screenplay
Nominees:
American Fiction – Cord Jefferson; based on the novel Erasure by Percival Everett
Barbie – Greta Gerwig and Noah Baumbach; based on characters created by Ruth Handler
Oppenheimer – Christopher Nolan; based on the biography American Prometheus: The Triumph and Tragedy of J. Robert Oppenheimer by Kai Bird and Martin J. Sherwin
Poor Things – Tony McNamara; based on the novel by Alasdair Gray

![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/a722987c7521a8623d67f8171d8d2355/f8c20d09bcf0bce0-0c/s540x810/a175bca97ba4bd5c5d2329d1655bef62b246f76c.jpg)
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/c454b64d3c5e35ad406a55463059809e/f8c20d09bcf0bce0-b7/s540x810/d51489fc40deb2ab8f3c503ceca8ecdbc8d945c6.jpg)
Prediction(s): Oppenheimer/American Fiction
The former might be possible with the guaranteed Best Picture & Director awards - which could make Nolan another director to win writing, directing, and producing Oscars. However, the latter would pose a tough competition - as it has already won the Writers Guild of America (WGA) Award, the Critics Choice Award, and several other precursor accolades. Its poignant exploration of race, family, and the American dream resonates with critics and audiences.
Best Animated Feature
Nominees:
The Boy and the Heron – Hayao Miyazaki and Toshio Suzuki
Elemental – Peter Sohn and Denise Ream
Nimona – Nick Bruno, Troy Quane, Karen Ryan, and Julie Zackary
Robot Dreams – Pablo Berger, Ibon Cormenzana, Ignasi Estapé, and Sandra Tapia Díaz
Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse – Kemp Powers, Justin K. Thompson, Phil Lord, Christopher Miller, and Amy Pascal
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/d1cd35d6a9c38f7a8bd1ecb33823e620/f8c20d09bcf0bce0-ad/s540x810/cbdd778838a3d981df5e502612d5f0b85105cf9d.jpg)
Prediction(s): Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse/The Boy and the Heron
It'll be Marvel's turn to preside over this category - with its innovative animation style, captivating story, and emotional connection. However, the Golden Globe-winning Japanese anime with a timeless tale of loss and resilience is a strong contender for the American animated film.
Best International Feature Film
Nominees:
Io capitano (Italy) – directed by Matteo Garrone
Perfect Days (Japan) – directed by Wim Wenders
Society of the Snow (Spain) – directed by J. A. Bayona
The Teachers' Lounge (Germany) – directed by İlker Çatak
The Zone of Interest (United Kingdom) – directed by Jonathan Glazer
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/dd55d452fd6fc122d56d3d703702236d/f8c20d09bcf0bce0-00/s540x810/d9ca39450fe7425606ae1debb9d546923c0b7928.jpg)

With his 54th nomination (and final because of his retirement), John Williams has entertained with his latest rendition of one of Hollywood's greatest film franchises. Nominees:
Anatomy of a Fall – Laurent Sénéchal

Prediction: Godzilla Minus One
I'm deeply offended that Oppenheimer didn't get a nomination in this category. However, with the nominees, I'd have to pick Godzilla - with its first-ever nomination in the franchise - and also because it is a visual spectacle besides Oppenheimer this year.
That's all for now. Let's see who wins what this year. See you at the Oscars.

Congratulations Netflix! You chose well on this one! :D Why not chip in so ‘Second Cycle’ can start production?

(Hopefully by this point you’ve finished all 12 minutes of ‘Cosmos Laundromat: First Cycle’, the kind of person who isn’t bothered by spoilers, or are just deciding if you still want to keep watching.)

One thing that struck me? The title. I keep referring to the film as ‘Cosmic Laundromat’
Are you excited about ‘Second Cycle’ too? Here’s the link you can pass on to make it happen quicker:
PS: What kind of animal is Eeyore? Because aside from him....I couldn’t think of instances when a sheep is melancholy.

Okay but about experiment Steve I was thinking about how he could be like Vanya in a way from TUA and like...imagine Steve just loosing control and streetlights bending around him or trees or having sound waves just blast around him 👀
SHUT UP HOLY SHIT!!!
This is GENIUS, except Billy would be nothing like Leonard 🤮
Seven’s powers are concentrated at first, he learns to control them quickly because Dr. Brenner punishes him if they get out of control. But then as he gets older, maybe around thirteen or fourteen they begin getting out of hand, he gets moody, as teenagers do, and his powers spiral.
It starts small, cracking a window breaking here and there and of course he gets punished, but it wasn’t more extreme than the punishments he’d had before. But then it escalates to breaking heavy machinery, blasting expensive equipment across the room, busting out of his room, even killing a few of the other doctors. That’s when Brenner makes the ultimate decision to lock him up.
Seven kicks and he screams, sobbing as they drag him into the soundproof cell. The walls shake, ceilings crumble, but they get him in, only needing minor repairs.
He’s locked in there for four years, four fucking years, before he breaks out. Before he learns how to harness his powers and break out of the prison.
He runs, bolts before they can catch him. When he gets outside of the lab he doesn’t know where he’s running to, but he’s running. through forest, over gravel, on hot asphalt. He trips a few times and he’s pretty sure he has a broken ankle, but he can’t stop, he won’t, until he runs head on into someone.
Seven falls back flat onto his ass, butt of his hospital gown dirtying from the forest floor.
“Shit,” he hears, quickly blinking his eyes back in focus to look at the person he ran into, the person he wasn’t expecting to run into because they were in the damn forest.
Seven just swallows, taking in the boy in front of him. They looked about the same age, not that Seven really knew what age he was seventeen, eighteen, nineteen? Something. He was built also soft looking, solid tummy behind a thin layer of fat, blonde, blue eyes, wearing nothing but basketball shorts and a pair of beat up Converse. There was a tool discarded to his side, something of the likes of hedge clippers.
“What the hell?” Seven panics, tries to regain his standing position, but to no avail, he’s weak. Suddenly there was the sound of tree branches breaking above him before sticks of all shapes and sizes began raining down in front of him. He looked on in horror, scared emotion getting the best of him.
“Christ!” Billy exclaims, covering his head with his arms, trying to dodge as many as he can. Finally when the rain of branches stop he calls out, “Hop! Get your ass out here!”
‘Hop?’ Seven thinks, ‘What is a Hop?’
“I swear to god Billy if you complain about the loppers being too rusty one more time, kid, hey were just fine last-” Suddenly there’s a large man standing beside the boy he now knows to be Billy, “My god.”
Send me hc’s!! 💛💛

Vincent Price: The Charming Villain
A very young Vincent Price; Source: Cinebeats
What comes to mind when thinking of Vincent Price are the many roles he played in Roger Corman's Poe-inspired adaptations such as "House of Usher" and "Masque of the Red Death" and William Castle's fun films "House on Haunted Hill" and "The Tingler." Price was an unforgettable figure with his distinct voice and wonderfully evil characters. He began his career in 1940's film noir. Eventually, he would be cast mostly in horror roles, his name synonymous with darkness.
Vincent Leonard Price was born on May 27, 1911 in St. Louis, MO. to Vincent and Marguerite Price. His father was president of a candy company. His parents were well-to-do and provided Price with a good education. Price attended a private school, St. Louis Country Day School. He went on to attend Yale University and earned a bachelor's degree in history and language. Price began performing with Gilbert and Sullivan operettas during his time at Yale. He continued his education in England, studying history at the University of London and art at the Cortaid Institute.
Price's career as a professional actor began with the Gate Theater in Dublin in a production of "Chicago" and "Victoria Regina."
Price's film debut was in 1938's "Service DeLuxe.' It wasn't long before Price began landing larger roles, mostly characters of a villainous nature in noirs such as Otto Preminger's "Laura" (1944) and "The Long Night" (1947). Price would play many bad boys throughout the 1940's.
Price branched out to horror as a vengeful sculptor in the 1953 3-D feature "House of Wax." He went on to star in "The Mad Magician" in 1954. Other roles included a cameo in a comedy, Bob Hope's "Casanova's Big Night" (1954). He also had roles in Howard Hughes' "Son of Sinbad" (1955), Fritz Lang's "While the City Sleeps" (1956) and Cecille B. DeMille's "The Ten Commanents" (1956) opposite Charlton Heston and Yule Brenner.
Price landed supporting roles in major feature films but was the leading man in b-horror. In the late 1950's, he starred in three of his more memorable roles in : "The Fly" (1958), "The Return of the Fly" and "House on Haunted Hill" (both in 1959).
Source: IMDb
The 1960's included a string of low-budget Poe adaptations with Roger Corman, which included: "The House of Usher" (1960), "The Pit and the Pendulum" (1961), "The Raven" (1963) and "Masque of the Red Death" (1964). Price sometimes worked with veteran icons such as Peter Lorre, Boris Karloff and Basil Rathbone. He also made surprising turns with a couple of James Bond spoofs, "Dr. Goldfoot and the Bikini Machine" (1965) and "Dr. Goldfoot and the Girl Bombs" (1966).
Besides acting, Price loved fine art and cooking. Price and his second wife, Mary, wrote a cookbook together, "The Come Into the Kitchen Cookbook," (1969). He also published "The Drawings of Delacroix" (1962). He took on the role of Batman nemesis Egghead in the 1966-68 Batman live action TV series. He then made a turn in a completely opposite direction to Broadway in the musical "Darling of the Day" (1968). He toured the U.S. with a production of a one-man show about Oscar Wilde, "Diversions and Delights."
Price and daughter, Victoria; Source: WTOP.com
He returned to film with "The Abominable Dr. Phibes" (1971) and "Dr. Phibes Rises Again" (1972). Price continued working in film. From 1981-1988, Price hosted the horror-themed show, "Mystery!" on PBS. He also did voicework, narrating a stop-motion short, "Vincent" by the then up-and-coming filmmaker Tim Burton in 1982 and Michael Jackson's "Thriller" in 1983. Price also starred in horror spoofs "The House of the Long Shadows" (1983) with Christopher Lee and Peter Cushing and 1984's "Bloodbath at the House of Death."
Price even lent his voice to Disney's "The Great Mouse Detective" in 1986. His final major role was in 1987 in "The Whales of August" with Bette Davis and Lillian Gish. Price's poor health led his role in Tim Burton's 1990 film "Edward Scissorhands" being trimmed down. At the time Price had severe emphysema. He took one last role in a TV movie, 1993's "The Heart of Justice."
Vincent Price had a long and interesting life and career. He was married three times. His first wife was actress Edna Barrett. Price and Barrett were married from 1938 to 1948. The couple had one son, Vincent Barrett Price, who became a poet and columnist. His married his second wife, Mary Grant, in 1949. Price and Grant had one daughter, Victoria. Grant and Price divorced in 1973. Price's third wife was Australian actress, Coral Browne, who was in 1973's "Theater of Blood" with Price. The two were married from 1974 until Browne's death in 1991.
Vincent Price died of lung cancer on October 25, 1993 at age 82.

268 Directors and the end of the blog
This post marks the end of the Ask a Director experiment. I’m so grateful to all who have contributed, supported and engaged with it over the past six and a half years.
This blog was started at a time when I felt incredibly alone in the directing field. I had always been taught that a director operates solo, that it was a lonely career and above all, it was based on scarcity. This was a style of working and living that didn't fit for me. I wanted to talk to other directors about their practice and thoughts about the field, both national and international. This blog was started as a way to connect, to uplift other directors and to create a conversation about the changing field and practices.
It's surpassed all of these goals and brought me more joy than I can name.
I'm now at a moment where my practice and advocacy are taking different and exciting paths and it's time for me to put this site to bed. I remain committed to uplifting other directors, to talking about the practice, to flattening hierarchies, to opening doors for new ways of working, and leading rehearsal rooms, companies, and classrooms away from silos and vacuums. Featuring these 268 different directors was just the beginning.
I encourage you all to hire them (and others), advocate for them (and others) and choose to work in a system that values connection and generosity.

Elysium Health is an alliance made in 2014 by proficient Leonard Guarente, Dan Alminana, and Eric Marcotulli to impart dietary supplements.[1] The following year, the association began selling a dietary update considered Basis that packs two overhauls, nicotinamide riboside (NR), a kind of B supplement found in yeast, and pterostilbene, a polyphenol found in blueberries, into one capsule.[2] The agreement says that these two fixings help cells with making nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (NAD) and that they support sirtuins.[1] The association is conventionally depicted as being in the counter making field and like Sirtris Pharmaceuticals which was making resveratrol.[1][2]
Elysium has tried to tie the thing inside the dietary update industry as being competently reasonable and unequivocal, by procedures for the thing's moderate bundling, by not selling the thing in calm stores yet fittingly on an exceptionally fundamental level through its site, and by getting a couple of Nobel prize victors to join its guaranteed premium board.[3][4][5] The interest has been investigated for utilizing this notification board to credit sufficiency to its product.[4] Like express relationship in the improvement business, Elysium moved the thing truly on social media.[1][3]
Elysium from the most reliable starting stage purchased the fixings in Basis from ChromaDex, which as of December 2016, offered the two fixings to other improvement affiliations that other than moved things containing them. The two affiliations had an appreciation under which Elysium Health didn't need to see ChromaDex as the wellspring of the fixings, paying little notice to then after Elysium picked the head of business improvement from Chromadex and to the degree anybody knows quit paying Chromadex, Chromadex sued Elysium and the data became public.[7] In September 2018, Dartmouth College and ChromaDex sued Elysium for encroachment of two gave up licenses just stood worried by ChromaDex on utilization of NR to make NAD that were disconnected through by Charles Brenner.[8]
Elysium is one of a few affiliations set up at around a proportionate time by individuals with foundations in the tech business and Silicon Valley who saw openings in the accomplishment and biomedical undertakings, a tremendous bit of the time subject to against making basis reviews .
