Destination Moon (1950) is like Apollo 13 (1995) except it was released before anyone had ever been to the moon. I didn’t realize they were making arguments for the space race as early as 1950. The technical detail is fascinating because they had to guess what space exploration would be like and it isn’t too far off what actually happened. The dialogue is smart and snappy. The score by Leith Stevens drove the plot along with a sense of urgency, wonder, and suspense. There’s a fun appearance by Woody Woodpecker. All in all, a good movie.

If you haven't heard of these characters before, here's a general description of them:

Ruby is on the left side of the drawing, she has scarlet red skin with dark red shorts, and a sleeveless dark red shirt with a lighter red triangle in the middle of the shirt heading downwards. her hair is a very red colour (almost black) in a square like shape that frames her face. She has a thick build and appears bulky and strong. She has a ruby gem integrated into her left palm.

Sapphire is on the right side of the drawing, she has light blue skin and a bright blue dress that hides her legs and feet. The torso of the dress is a dark blue with a light blue triangle shape in the front going downwards and two smaller white triangles alongside this. Her dress has big white puffy shapes at her shoulders, and she wears white gloves that go to her elbows. She has light blue long hair (the colour lighter than her skin), that curls down to around her hip area, and she has a fringe that covers up her singular eye. Her thinner arms indicate she may have a slimmer build than Ruby, but they are the same height. She has a sapphire gem integrated into her right palm.

The unintentionally perfect finales will probably become another one of my controversial categories on this blog, since I basically declared that some musicians should have ended their careers at an earlier point. For instance, let's say you concluded with an album that wasn't really you at your best, though you still showed the reasons people like you. The Birds, The Bees & The Monkees by the Monkees, of course, might be one such case. Mind you, their consequent works didn't demolish their legacy, yet they didn't add that much either. However, their struggles predicted a career arc of a typical prefabricated musical outfit. They were one of the better from the category, though they inadvertently established the rules many of the similar proposition go through.

When he accidentally stumbles across an attractive cam model online, the idea of having a virtual booty call on hand seems appealing. The only problem, Tony is far more charming than Steve would have imagined and there is more to him than a pretty smile and a nice body. Too bad all their interactions are just part of Tony's job… or are they?

Hi, friends! I am so excited to about today! It’s my birthday!!! But more than that, it’s my kid's birthday! I’m gonna spend the day hanging out with her and reading, because--it’s my favorite thing to do. Enjoy this week’s recs!!

my thoughts: I’m a sucker for Tony spoiling Steve and Steve just wanting TONY. This balanced both of those things perfectly.

Twenty three nights that Steve builds his tent and escorts him to the tent flap when the food and music have wound down, twenty three nights that Tony sits waiting alone until he falls asleep in a pile of furs.

my thoughts: i forgot this fic? So it was fun to dive back into the worldbuilding and Tony’s confusion paired with Steve taking care of him.

my thoughts: hindsight being 20/20 and letting Tony change the way he interacts with Steve was so well done.

my thoughts: idk, y’all, it was just super fun, the interaction of noir!Tony with the Avengers is fantastic.

I understand reading is a good way to relax and I see you've made a post about it, but another thing I personally find calming is listening to music. Although I don't know what you personally find appealing some calming artists I love are Cavetown, Current Joys, Sufjan Stevens, Beabadoobee (she released a new album yesterday which sounds lovely!), Liana Flores (her music is very calming, I would recommend listening), Clairo, Mac DeMarco, Leith Ross, and many other artists!

Although I understand you were looking for the kinds of artists who write books rather than music, I hope these will make you smile!
