The only thing that ever interests meeeeee is...
ME!
“I’m Bored” by The Bonzo Dog Doo-Dah Band, Gorilla (1967).
I just felt like uploading some Bonzo music. There’s a big gap of it on tumblr, as I seem be the only one doing so. I am also quite bored.

Harry Nilsson was weird. Actually, he should not be seen like that in the modern way. You know, he had a deal with a large record label, he wasn't moving his pieces throughout an abundance of unofficial channels one can get these days. To be honest, he wasn't the only one. Check Bonzo Dog Doo-Dah Band, the Monty Python of pop. They also resembled them by having the ability to express themselves through the intricacies of the record industry at the time. Sure, their LPs could be at some points seen as trolling, though they do betray a certain abandon the comedy at the time had. Still, they did speak this sense of humour with the language of popular music of the period and they showed the other way of using that.

The time John Lennon told Derek Taylor he had sex with Stu?
In 1983, this author was staying with "Legs" Larry Smith of the legendary Bonzo Dog Do Dah Band in Hamilden, Oxfordshire. George Harrison lives nearby. Over the months, I got to know many Beatles insiders, including their longtime public relations man Derek Taylor.
He told me of an incident that John had related to him back in 1968.
It occurred in Hamburg at the seedy Bambi Cinema, where the Beatles stayed during several early gigs. One day while Paul, George, and Pete Best were on a boat trip with some local fraüleins, Stu and John stayed behind, getting thoroughly drunk in one of the countless dives that lined the Reeperbahn. They commiserated with each other
about their dismal lot: playing the cramped, noisy strip joints; enduring the filthy accommodations; being perpetually overworked and un-derpaid. Drunk and disconsolate, they returned to their dank one-room hole. Stu was sitting on the top bunk, while John rolled into the bottom. After a few minutes Lennon wordlessly climbed up to join Sutcliffe. What began as mutual consolation turned quietly sexual when Stu went down on him. Lennon disclosed the episode to Taylor during an intense acid trip at his home in suburban London.

“... oh it isn't fair / how her ermine hair / turned men around / she was white on white / so blonde on blonde / and her long long legs / how I used to beg / to dance with her / but I never had a chance with her …”
/ From the poem “edie sedgwick (1943 – 1971)” by Patti Smith in the book Babel (1978) /
Died on this day: doomed, utterly magnetic Warhol Superstar, muse, scene-maker and socialite Edie Sedgwick (Edith Minturn Sedgwick Post, 20 April 1943 – 16 November 1971). Caution: if you’re interested in Sedgwick’s story, for the love of God avoid the terrible, wildly inaccurate, tone-deaf and frankly homophobic 2006 biopic Factory Girl and read Jean Stein’s 1982 book Edie: An American Biography instead. It’s a shame it’s virtually impossible to watch the underground Andy Warhol films Sedgwick features in, because that’s how best to understand her allure. Years ago (like, in the 1990s I think!) I managed to see Outer and Inner Space (1965) at the Institute of Contemporary Art. Experiencing the radiant Sedgwick onscreen was like seeing Louise Brooks in a silent movie for the first time! Pictured: portrait of Sedgwick by Larry Fink, 1966.

Album Review: Tommy Emmanuel - Accomplice Two
A veritable mix tape of some of Tommy Emmanuel’s favorite songs as recorded with some of his best musical friends, Tommy Emmanuel’s Accomplice Two is itself fodder for an Emmanuel fan’s playlist.
Ricocheting across an hour of various artists playing varying styles of music, Accomplice Two is the sonic equivalent of a drive on a hilly country road as the musicians recast their own songs or play Emmanuel originals alongside covers from the likes of Doc Watson, Townes Van Zandt, Johnny Cash, the Rev. Gary Davis and others.
There’s high-test bluegrass both instrumental (“Doc’s Guitar/Black Mountain Rag” with Billy Strings; “Precious Time” with Sierra Hull) and vocal, as when Emmanuel joins forces with Molly Tuttle and Little Feat with Sam Bush for “White Freight Liner Blues” and “Cajun Girl,” respectively.
Jamey Johnson brings weepy, formulaic country on “Daddy Frank (The Guitar Man);” Michael McDonald serves up soul of the blue-eyed variety with “Someone Like You;” and Raul Malo ends the LP on a weird, Lawrence Welk note with “Faraway Places.”
Being a certified guitar player, Emmanuel does best when collaborating with other guitar players including Jorma Kaukonen (“Another Man Done a Full Go Around”), Yasmin Williams (“Mombasa”) and Larry Campbell, who sings “Everybody Loves You” with his wife, Teresa Williams.
Richard Smith, Jerry Douglas, the Del McCoury Band, the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band and David Grisman also hop in the passenger seat for this up-and-down voyage with Emmanuel. Sound Bites found some legs unpleasant; others worth retracing again and again.
Your mileage may vary.

There's a gentle clicking sound as her mechanical foot touches the cold, bare flooring of her room. Normally, the absolute lack of light would make it impossible for her to see where she's going, but the relatively new enhancement in her right eye seems to have decent night vision.
She pulls back the covers from the hospital cot she's supposed to call a bed, revealing her hidden supplies. A few tubes of paint, a canvas, and a brush. All items that she stole for herself on her way back from various outings for her boss. Holding these precious treasures makes tears form in her eyes. Her hand clutches at her heart, her weak soul aching as she can't help but remember who she used to be. A loved family member, a cherished friend. A starving artist. A person.
Tears flow down her face as she works on the canvas she propped up against the wall, vision blurred but the images crystal clear in her minds eye, no detail escapes her as she stroke by stroke fills the canvas. There's not a single spot without paint when she's done with it. To anyone else, it looks like an abstract work of art, but to her, it's a symbol. It's who she was, and who she is, who she still hopes to be, all in one.
With the painting drying, she gingerly stretches, her injuries from last outting still not healed. One would think the Head of this organization would want his favorite pawn in the best condition. But it's not like him to consider anyone but himself. She takes in a breath, and begins to sway, then she starts moving her arms and legs. This is a dance meant for two, but she still looks just as graceful dancing by herself.
A sharp noise in her head interrupts the dance. She clutches her head, soul aching once more as the sound is followed by the voice of her Supervisor. You can come out now, Mr. Smith has work for you to do. And the door opens, the light from the corridor stings at her eyes.
"T-tell him I'm on my way." She manages to say, stowing away her precious treasures as the sound fades. One day, Mr. Smith... One day, you will end, and I'll be free... She thinks to herself, on her way to see the boss once more. ...then, I can go back to being Abigale Peters.
Writers note: so, this is an au (I guess?) for my character, Abigale Peters! Canonically, she was a homeless woman who gained favor with a forgotten god (not my character, he actually belongs to @greatgoldlion), and he in turn protected her from getting kidnapped by Mr. Smith, who wanted to use her for her naturally strong soul. He stopped the threat, and Abigale was able to live without worrying about getting taken.
There were many ideas I had when I wrote that arc with her, one of which being Abi actually getting taken XD we didn't go with that, but this little au is what would have happened if there was no Larry to protect her.
That's all I've got for now, saw this writing prompt and HAD to write this XD it just fit so well.
She’s a battle-scarred, jaded super-soldier loaded with biomechanical upgrades and chemical augments. All she wants to do is wear cute clothes and paint.

Mouth Opera, Part 4 (Conclusion)
Mouth Moods
Act 1
Smash Mouth pursues them into the ‘Mouth Silence’ universe, but enters a titanic showdown with other planet-spanning songs (“The Starting Line”, “Floor Corn”). AC/DC shows up in a flying piano to transport Steve and Monica to safety (“AC/VC”). Steve knows they can’t defeat Smash Mouth without the power of mashups, but realizes from a TV commercial that the Mediaman is the only one left with copies of his songs (“300MB”). They use a simple mashup to cross space and time to his headquarters in the ‘Mouth Moods’ universe (“Revolution #5”, “Dear Dinosaur”).
In his headquarters, the Mediaman – an enormous cyborg-like being made from a combination of tv screens and human organs, speaking though the image of Larry King on one of the TVs – conducts an orchestra composed of his ‘friends’ and the various musicians he has brainwashed, now only able to communicate in annoyed grunts (“Annoyed Grunt”). Steve and Monica arrive just as he starts an interview with Ray Parker Jr. (“Bustin’”), designed to distract Steve with various ‘adult videos’ (“Blockbuster”). Monica gives up on Steve and leaves him again, now truly believing ‘all that glitters is gold’ (“Busta”). Steve tries to shape up and go after her, but the Mediaman uses special effects to transform him into a ‘furry’ (“Tiger”) and he falls into despair, believing their quest was in vain (“The End”).
Interlude: “Shady Interlude”
Act 2
Steve is now living out of a dark, sad room in a YMCA. The other tenants – dressed in black with funny hats – perform an interpretive dance around him (“T.I.M.E.”). After they leave, a masked burglar breaks in through the window and clubs him over the head with a chicken leg. While his life flashes before his eyes, he is rescued by Harrison Ford, who fights off the burglar – revealed now to be Santana (“Smooth”). Monica arrives as well, and Steve offers her an apology based on what he saw in his vision (“Stand by Meme”). It appears at first that she rejects him, and he turns around to play a sad song to clear his head. But when he feels her hand on his shoulder, the song picks up and they dance together (“Wallspin”). The scar on her head finally disappears.
Smash Mouth bursts onto the scene, holding a man in a space suit and a cowboy hat: Mr. Smith. Steve duels him with music and sound effects, allowing Monica to finally defeat him by imprisoning him in an oversized drawing pad (“Wow Wow”). Now convinced that art is the only way to defeat evil, Steve’s keytar begins to glow, and he is able to contain Smash Mouth with one final ‘smash-up’, absorbing it into himself with shining starlight (“Mouth Pressure”). Now an ‘All Star’ himself, Steve sets the other songs and musicians free. At last able to appreciate life a little more, he realizes what he really wanted. Disillusioned with corporate media, he declares that ‘if life is going to be shit, I might as well doo-doo my way.’ Steve and Monica make up, and return home using the power of mashups while the rest of the cast, now freed from the Mediaman’s power, returns to the stage to complete the closing song (“Shit”).

HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Tom Bailey (Thompson Twins), Keisha Lance Bottoms, Christian Burns (BB Mak), Johnny Costa (Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood), Kevin Costner, composer César A Cui, Elijah Cummings, conductor Janos Ferencsik, Bobby Goldsboro, Cary Grant, Bo Gritz, Danny Kaye, jazz tuba player/bassist "Min" Leibrook, Jesse L. Martin, Crispian Mills (Kula Shakur), A.A. Milne, Constance Moore, Samantha Mumba, "Yannis" Papaioannou, pedal steel guitar legend Al Perkins, David Ruffin, Shostakovich’s 1930 satirical opera THE NOSE, Larry “Legs” Smith, Daniel Webster, Daniel Hale Williams, and actor-singer Oliver Hardy of the legendary comedy team Laurel & Hardy. In his well-documented life, he appeared in at least 107 films. His first “real job” was managing a movie theatre (including janitor and projectionist) in his hometown of Midgeville, Georgia. His talents were obvious, and friends urged him to go to Jacksonville FL where there was a small film industry. That led to Hollywood, where he started working in bigger roles as “Babe” Hardy—alternately known for his vibrant singing voice. In 1927 he teamed up with Stan Laurel, and the rest is history. Laurel & Hardy became successful icons—oft-imitated, oft-quoted, and still drawing audiences today. Even their catch-phrases are imbedded in our culture. Here’s a song I wrote based on the L&H bromide, “Well here’s another fine mess you’ve gottten me into…” HB Oliver and thank you for the countless hours of joy you’ve given to the world.

“Monster From Green Hell” with a sort of bad lip reading treatment and a narrator that, to me, was channeling a crude Douglas Adams.
Runs hot and cold, but I can’t say I didn’t chuckle a few times.
