CITADEL CHIC MAGAZINE: Dr. Liara T’Soni

INPRNT | Finished Mass Effect 3 the other day and got thinking about the casual clothing/civilian wear in the game. Model and budget constraints means there’s not a whole lot of variety, and many of the non-armored pieces aren’t to my personal taste. So I thought it’d be cute to do a fake Citadel magazine, starting off with featuring Liara.

Notes on Asari fashion: From what I’ve noticed, Asari fashion favors a very feminine silhouette, especially skin-tight, with tasteful additions to encourage an hourglass silhouette (Samara’s shoulder armor, Liara’s coat tails, Aria’s cropped coat: all help with this silhouette). Characters who don’t wear skin tight clothes frequently have cut outs to embellish traditionally feminine styles (Matriarch Benezia’s iconic boob window). While planning out an outfit I kept these in mind!

Some earlier outfit ideas! Went with the third for Liara. I really like the 60’s-esque sort of vibe to it and I thought it matched her personality. The first one is also very pretty but I was thinking more for the Asari councilor!

Okay so um I watched the trailer for season 12. Yeah. I don’t know what to fucking say 😭

First of all, a lot of people are saying Ramattra should’ve gotten the mythic, which I partially agree with. If Ramattra had gotten a mythic this season, it would’ve ruined the mythic pattern. There were two support mythics in a row, now there is two damage mythics in a row, then for the next two seasons they will be tanks. I think they should’ve saved the Egyptian theme for season 13, and in that season given the mythic to Ramattra. Season 12 should’ve been something different, and given the mythic to a damage hero (most likely Reaper).

Now the elephant in the room… VENTURE. WHY DID VENTURE NOT GET A SKIN!? BLIZZARD WHAT THE FUCK IS WRONG WITH YOU!? THIS SEASON COULDN’T HAVE BEEN MORE PERFECT TO GIVE VENTURE A LEGENDARY SKIN. And now we have ANOTHER KIRIKO skin that will cost us an arm, a leg and our entire bank account and omg… not one… BUT TWO FUCKING MERCY SKINS. BLIZZARD I WANT YOU TO LOOK ME DEAD IN THE EYE AND TELL ME THIS MAKES BLOODY SENSE. There was a Mercy mythic in season 10, pink mercy came back in season 11 (I suppose that can be accepted tho because it was for charity but they don’t have to make even more stuff for her afterwards), now she has two different skins in one season. What the fuck.

What surprises me the most is that Juno hasn’t seemed to have gotten a skin either?? Every new hero EXCEPT Juno and Venture have gotten at least one legendary skin the season of their release. Kiriko got Hinotori, Sojourn got Commander, Junker Queen got Beast Hunter (it was an epic but whatever IT WAS SOMETHING), Ramattra got Poseidon, Lifeweaver got Phi Ta Khon, Illari got Llama Pajamas, Mauga got Bonesplitter, and then Juno and Venture got nothing. Those were all Battle Pass skins as well. Yeah. I don’t understand Blizzard anymore like wtf!? Why is it so hard for them to make skins for venture??

My advice is don’t fucking buy the Mercy shop skin. Istg. Don’t buy the Kiriko one either. Stop giving them money of off this absolute horse shit because it’s ridiculous. It’s going to cost a fortune anyways it’s not worth it 😭 PLEASE DONT BUY THEM BRO. THEY DID THIS WITH THE LIFEGUARD KIRIKO SKIN TOO. I don’t care how much u like it you don’t need skins to play the game 💀💀😭 jfc I hate overwatch

Honestly, I kind of hate how Lance was given altean symbols. Unlike my other posts, however, this isn't hating on him. I mean, his relationship with Allura felt so one-sided. Allura was clearly rebounding on him and the show just didn't want to acknowledge it. She was still hung up on Lotor, even imagining Lotor's face when they kissed, which is wrong. She was basically using him at that point and it actually made me feel bad for him.

But the worst part is the altean markings. Every time he looks in the mirror, he will only be reminded of the fact that Allura is dead. If he ever decided to move on and start seeing other people, they're going to ask about the markings and bringing up your dead ex is never going to make a first date go well.

He's marked by this memory of Allura and it is wrong. I feel as though my previous posts have made it seem as though I hate lance full-stop, when this isn't exactly the case. He had some really good potential and it's mostly the writers whom I dislike for making Lance's character go down hill. Unlike other character who I despise (not really in Voltron, though Haggar comes close to that point), there are moments where I genuinely like Lance.

I liked Lance in season one and two, and I appreciated him through season five. I just find myself disliking him more than I like him which is a shame.

The markings are the cherry on top of the cake. The writers really felt like screwing everyone over in season eight. Just that last shot of Lance with the markings that will always remind him of his dead ex who rebounded on him, as he's farming like a Cuban stereotype, (probably the only Cuban thing he's done in the series which is a whole other can of worms), really sets my teeth on edge.

I promise. I will try to talk about other things, maybe Voltron related, maybe other things like... KHR, Owl House, Gravity Falls, BNHA, One Piece, ect... But I'm currently hyperfixated and it will be a while before I stop. Sorry teehee

I've been wanting to get into the 3rd dimension with art but haven't found the courage for it for a really long time. Mostly due to over-ambition and perfectionist tendencies making it appear intimidating.

Needless to say, I finally convinced myself to give it a try by sculpting something IRL.

It's super rough around the edges but for a first sculpting attempt since idk, kindergarten, it ain't too shabby.
