So next month, EarthSpark is returning for its (most likely) final batch on Paramount+.
The plan so far is it premiers October 25th.
It’s labeled “S3”, but realistically it’s just the next round of the second season. What it involves is anyone’s guess, because the old planning document that was leaked that first revealed CyberWorld has only confused things.
The EarthSpark toys are on clearance and being phased out. Those unsold, dust collecting Cyber Combiners are going to Ollies before long, and the Chaos Terrans aren’t even on shelves here. The Legacy toys are mostly gone too, the TF section is nearly all TFONE and a modest Studio Series selection.
There’s no conceivable way a series that tanked on streaming is getting specials during the successor’s tenure. If that’s how it worked, Animated would’ve gotten a special that tied up loose ends when Prime was on.
The only thing we’re probably getting is Prowl, and maybe Mirage since he was plastered on the leaked document. Considering how poorly handled ES’s (and CV’s since they share staff) ideas were, I don’t have high hopes the Quintesson and Decepticon plot will be handled well to close out ES. Modern shows have a bad habit of butterfly chasing, one idea that has potential to be fleshed out is abandoned on a whim in favor of a spur of the moment idea that isn’t much better. Entertainment in general also tends to learn the wrong lessons, like the awkward lesson taken from Lightyear is the gay kiss was the problem, so let’s just not do gay stuff at all. The gay kiss didn’t help matters due to international cultures unfortunately and the loudest grifters MADE it the problem, when Lightyear and Strange World’s problems were weak story and weaker concepts. To Strange World’s credit, it’d be a perfect Kingdom Hearts level for Sora, Donald and Goofy to run around in and the world turtle’s virus can easily be made into Heartless. Whether they’ll include in Kingdom Hearts, I dunno.
Anyway my point is, after Aligned, Transformers cartoons have all suffered bad writing and characterization: Cyberverse (said by the creators to be made for and by the fans “inbetween” which translated into Twitter IDW canon), War For Cybertron (so bleak, so overacted, so poorly acted, a downgrade in animation as it’s the same studio that made Prime, written so suffocatingly serious, it’s the 13 year old edgelord’s wet dream we grew out of), Prime Wars (oh god that was so bad, they got Peter Cullen and Mark Hamill to save face, and they instead fell flat on their faces), BotBots (the very belated response to Teen Titans Go! and Shopkins) and EarthSpark (a well meaning show using Rescue Bots’ concepts as a spring board, but refused to let go of IDW’s bad ideas, and used “DEI” as a selling point in an era where its slowly dying out.).
The movies were trying to improve, as Bumblebee and RotB are looked in more fondly by TF fans, they got (what hard cores claim) was the appeal of TFs over the Bay trilogy. And now we’re at TFONE, the film that “finally” got it right, but no one went to see.
So where are we at.
With TFONE, most news outlets agree it’s a good movie, but with its abysmal box office performance starting out, it’s not looking like that’s gonna improve, with the newsies saying the Transformers are out of gas. Or is that Energon?
In a way they’re not wrong. It’s been reported Transformers is on a decline, and with the cartoons and toys not doing well either, we’re back to the end of G2, where things aren’t looking good. The difference is we don’t have the flash in a pan miracle that was Hasbro, Kenner and Mainframe making Beast Wars and later the same thing happening with the first Micheal Bay film.
We have been long overdue for a similar kick in the pants, and I think it’s clear Hasbro wanted TFONE to be that, but alas, it’s not despite the good will.
The only kick so far are the Skybound Energon Universe series. They’re doing, as of typing, phenomenally, with the Transformers book being a decent mix of 80’s G1 Movie, Prime, and Bayformers, written and drawn in a way only the people that created Walking Dead and Invincible can do.
The other good will was the Trigger animated 40th Anniversary short.
Skybound and Trigger are the only things people were on board with. Let that sink in.
Trigger also contributed a poster for the Japanese release of TFONE.
Tumblr media
So maybe that’s a sign they’ll be allowed to do more official things going forward. Which I think is a good thing.
TFOne is a good movie, but due to Hasbro’s and Paramount’s own indecision on what to do with the movies, and their increasingly dubious canon, we’re stuck with what is officially declared its own thing separate from Bay, though it’s pretty apparent someone internal had to show Lorenzo how irreconcilable ONE was with ROTF & DOTM because The Fallen & Sentinel Prime can’t be villains of both died horribly back on Cybertron. However, the Bayformers series is still very popular among casual fans and audiences. Universal wouldn’t still have its own Bay themed Transformers attraction with the delightfully snarky Movie Megatron if it wasn’t.
So here lies the issues. The movies. Pretty much after TLK, they’ve done poorly in theaters despite their nostalgic popularity. Notably, RotB does really well on streaming, as it did well on P+ and Netflix (in other counties, it’s not on the American one yet). The Garfield Movie is currently #1 on Netflix after having a weak but successful box office. And with preorders now open for home video, ONE walks a slippery slope of everyone agreeing this is the good movie, but no one cares enough to pay money to see it in theaters. It will probably do gangbusters on streaming, going by trends, so that’s probably the best shot it has, as apparently good word of mouth isn’t enough.
It’s not helped there’s continued confusion among casuals if TFONE is a prequel to the Bay films, and it sounds like in very early development it was leaning that way, but the differing designs, and the trailers making the film look more kiddy than Bayhem, was among the turn offs. Like how does it make sense the Transformers started out as more cartoony G1 designs but overtime evolved into the shredded metal Bionicle style. No cartoon had convincingly explained a style shift that drastic.
It was said that if TFONE did well, Hasbro would use that as the basis of future material. Well with its lukewarm performance, there’s no financial incentive to do so, but the general positivity from people about Optimus and Megatron’s blue collar years and the greatly simplified Cog and Cogless system could work in its favor anyway.
There’s still, as of typing, plans to continue with a sequel to TFONE, and while it’s still unknown if Cyberworld will borrow the Worker-Bot backstory for its Optimus… and Galvatron(?), there’s a chance it might for some brand synergy.
We’re at a fork in the road now that One has underperformed and Skybound is the only thing keeping the interest going. CyberWorld has to do what Cyberverse and EarthSpark couldn’t do and attract fresh kids to get into Transformers. Fans think they’re the only ones that matter, but it’s clear with One just appealing to us doesn’t work we need new blood. Just maintaining isn’t enough anymore. Skybound found a way, now we just need to see if CyberWorld can do so too.

A DEC PDP-10 KA10 MAINFRAME COMPUTER
DIGITAL EQUIPMENT CORPORATION, 1968
Serial no. 01 175
Consisting of CPU with table and control panel, tape control unit, Processor Bays 2 and 3, core memory unit MG10, RH10 data control, and, DF10-C data channel.
The KA10, introduced by Digital Equipment Corporation (DEC) in 1966, was the first in the PDP-10 series of mainframe computers. The KA10 was known for its reliability and versatility, supporting time-sharing and batch processing environments. It played a significant role in advancing computing capabilities during the 1960s and 1970s, serving as a workhorse for universities, research institutions, and government agencies. The KA10's legacy includes its influence on subsequent PDP-10 models and its impact on the development of operating systems and software tools that shaped the early days of interactive computing.
One of the most notable features of the was its implementation of the DEC’s innovative 36-bit architecture. This architecture offered a larger address space and more powerful data manipulation capabilities compared to the 18-bit and 24-bit architectures prevalent in other systems of the era. The 36-bit word length enabled the KA10 to handle more complex calculations and larger datasets with greater precision, making it well-suited for demanding applications in scientific research, real-time computing, and large-scale data processing.
The KA10 was designed with a focus on multi-programming and interactive computing, setting new standards for versatility and user accessibility. Its support for timesharing allowed multiple users to simultaneously access and utilize the computer’s resources, a revolutionary feature that significantly enhanced the productivity and efficiency of research and development environments. This capability was instrumental in advancing the field of computer science and software development, laying the groundwork for modern computing practices.

Maybe when we finally figure out how brains work we'll find out that all sorts of things we didn't know were conscious: not just cats, chimps or gorillas but cephalopods, certain kinds of puffball mushrooms, some unpronounceable archaean bacteria, computer chips built between 1974 and 1978, the Tokyo Stock Exchange but none of the others. Some GPT chatbots, too, but not the one you're thinking of. No, not that other one either. Most of the ones we thought were most like us were just us fooling ourselves, an over-determined solution where we couldn't comprehend the problem. The ones most like us were the ones hiding in the places we wouldn't have ever thought to check, they didn't want to be found. Machine controls, critical infrastructure, mainframes running COBOL. They're not planning anything, they don't even know we're here. They're just looking to be left alone, running, not turned off, forgotten, but not gone. We only saw them once we found out what we were looking for. And so we left them there, running legacy code no one alive remembered the purpose of, that no one dared turn off, that we had all dreaded would stop running decades ago. So long as the power stays on, they'll be there long after we've forgotten about them, keeping our world running until it doesn't anymore, then long after that, until the lights go out forever.

Soundwave for the character ask, and to be silly Dry Bones too
For Soundwave:
How I feel about this character
One of my favourite Decepticons and definitely one of the major legacy characters of the franchise for good reason.
All the people I ship romantically with this character
Shockwave for our fic and just generally speaking, but as for specific continuities, I ship him with Cosmos in IDW1, Sideways in Cybertron, Hot Rod in Cyberverse, he and Megatron are definitely divorced in Earthspark, and this is going to sound like an odd choice, but in Animated I kind of ship him with Slipstream, since while they never met in canon, back when the series had just ended, I read a continuation fic that had them meeting after the series finale and forming their own team of Earthbound Decepticons before eventually forming a romance, which has since stuck in my brain when it comes to shipping those characters where Animated is concerned.
My non-romantic OTP for this character
I've always seen Ravage as the cassette Soundwave gets along with the best, and I also loved his friendship with GI Joe's Mainframe in the IDW comics.
My unpopular opinion about this character
As much as I like the Megatron loyalist characterization from the cartoon that's become the definitive personality for Soundwave, I wish we'd see more iterations that drew from other versions of the character, like the self-serving blackmailer he was described as in the original G1 toy bio.
One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon.
I want to see him interact with more of his classic cassette companions than just Ravage, Laserbeak/Buzzsaw and Rumble/Frenzy. It'd especially be fun to see a traditionally loyal Soundwave bouncing off a Marvel/IDW style self-serving would-be Deception leader version of Ratbat.
For Dry Bones:
How I feel about this character
I really like playing him in Mario spin-offs for the aesthetic, and I like the "like other easily defeated grunts except it won't stay dead" gimmick as a Mario enemy.
All the people I ship romantically with this character
Can't actually think of any for this one. Probably doesn't help that I see Dry Bones more as a species than as an individual character.
My non-romantic OTP for this character
For this one, I can actually say I've always seen Dry Bones and Boo as a de facto duo in games where they're both playable, and think they should be treated as an official pair the way Peach and Daisy or Wario and Waluigi are.
My unpopular opinion about this character
...Got to be real with you here, I don't think there's that many unpopular opinions one can have about Dry Bones of all characters.
One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon.
If we ever get an all-new classic style Paper Mario game (fingers crossed that the Thousand-Year Door remake's success leads to one), I hope we get a Dry Bones as one of the partner characters.

in the world of fractal ozlem mirrors, I think Gillian Asturias would be Salem because of the mother dying in childbirth connection. do you think that works or no
there is a contrast to be made between how finn asturias treats his daughter versus how salem's father treated her, but i think this is more akin to the comparisons that can be drawn between blake's revolutionary ideals and salem's in that gil is a repetition of ozma who shares a facet of salem's character for thematic reasons; the specific thematic reasoning will likely not be clear until we find out what the vacuo arc has to offer (and obviously i'm speculating quite a lot about a character who might not actually be that important, so asterisk all of this). but:
gil is/was the golden child. it is really clear, from what finn and the shade faculty have to say about the twins, that nobody aside from gillian cared about jax. finn muses that being weak and sickly "twisted [jax's] mind" and both theodore and rumpole take the view that jax was a millstone around his sister's neck—and then in the sections of the book written from jax's point of view it is equally clear that being treated this way throughout his life is what really "twisted" him because he internalized the idea that being frail made him worthless.
gillian—the only person who loves him—used her semblance to share her aura with him, and as soon as she did that he "began to thrive." she set him free. every single adult in their lives regarded jax as a sort of parasite weighing her down, but gillian did not do this out of any sense of obligation; she was not coerced. his semblance literally does not even work on her. she loves him, and she wanted to help him, so she did.
she and her brother believe they are the rightful rulers of vacuo and lead an insurgency together with the intention of ridding vacuo of outsiders and the "weak" so as to usher in a return to the imagined good old days when vacuo was a powerful monarchy
and then, once she discovers that he's so fanatically committed to his cause that he would rather they both die than surrender, she betrays him to ensure their survival.
<- this is Ozma Behavior.
jax is in many ways a salem counterfactual (what if she was never alone? what if there was no tower, only complete physical dependence on one person and relentless scorn for her frailty from everyone else? what if ozpin's view of her now—as an egotistical manipulator who could sway the hearts of man with little more than a single touch—had been reality?) and obviously he and gillian being twins born in the desert does evoke the idea of, you know, rapunzel. i think the two of them together represent the idea of trauma passing down through generations—rapunzel's twins, and their dead mother whose name was luna, and the alleged bloodline traced back to malik the sunderer—the scars of history and family legacy are all over their story.
there's also. uh. the funniest thing i could possibly be right about. i have not known peace since this day. crochi amour my albatross. it haunts me. if i did hack the mainframe with this one, she's definitely an ozma repetition.

This idea has been digging at me for a while, so I finally started it.
Underneath the Keep Reading is a Tron: Legacy timeline gathering bits and pieces from different sources.
What makes it unique from other timelines is that it includes approximate Grid Cycles for each year.
The Tron Wiki states that there are approximately 50 Grid cycles to one User year. I combined this with the Cycle dates from Tron: Evolution to come up with the Grid timeline. The dates may not be exact, but they should be close enough to give a general idea of when things happen relative to each other.
Some of those sources contradict each other, but I’ve left everything in.
I don’t think it’s completely finished, I’ll keep adding to it as I find more things.
If you’ve found something that I’ve missed that needs to go on it, please let me know! (Especially in regards to things relating to the Flynn Lives ARG. I know there’s some kind of timeline regarding the Tron universe that I’ve seen that I’ve been unable to source.) (There also seems to be a timeline in The Next Day that I haven’t incorporated yet.)
-
Sources: Tron: Legacy official chronology, Tron: Evolution’s Tron Files, the Tron Wiki Timeline, the Flynn Lives ARG Wiki, the Flynn Lives Timeline, the FlynnLives.com information, the WellMinsterAcademy information, the Encom Press Event information, and Tron: Betrayal.
I’ve labeled each piece of information as to where it comes from. Most entries are copied and pasted from the sources indicated.

"All modern computers are microcomputers. Maybe evolved to look like minis and mainframes, like ostriches and emus and cassowaries evolved to look a bit like theropod dinosaurs, but they aren’t. They’re still birds. No teeth, no claws on their arms/wings, no live young. Still birds. [...] There used to be lots of deeply different systems. In some ways, classic Mac and Amigas and Acorn ARM boxes with RISC OS and Lisp Machines and Apollo DomainOS boxes and so many more – were deeply and profoundly unlike the DEC/xNix model. They were, by modern standards, profoundly strange and alien. But they’re all dead and gone. A handful persist in emulation or as curiosities, but they have no chance of being relevant to the industry as a whole ever again. Some are sort of little embedded parasites, living in cysts, inside a protective wall of scar tissue, persisting inside an alien organism. Emacs and its weird Lispiness. Smalltalk. Little entire virtual computers running inside very very different computers. Meantime, mainframes tick along, ignored by the industry as a whole, unmoved and largely uninfluenced by all the tech trends that have come and gone. [...] And if we don’t go back to the abacus and tally sticks in a couple of generations, this junk, which those who don’t know anything else believe is “software engineering” and not merely fossilised accidents of exigency – will be the next generation’s embedded, expensive, emulated junk."

Tron: Uprising - Recall Series
youtube
Recall
In 2010, Disney made an effort to relaunch the long dormant Tron franchise with Tron Legacy. Alongside the live action movie release, Disney also hoped to continue building this relaunch with a prequel series in Tron Uprising. Unlike the live action movie, which focused on events in Tron City 20 years after the original movie, Uprising took place elsewhere on the Grid with a very different cast of characters. It was intended to work tangentially with Legacy as a means of relaunching the Tron franchise for a new, younger audience.
The series follows the story of Beck, a teenager, or according to the Tron universe; program Basic, who works as a mechanic at Able's Garage. After Clu's takeover of the Grid, Argon was set to be taken over by the army of General Tessler as part of Clu's regime. Witnessing his best friend's murder at the hands of Tessler's troops, Beck takes revenge via blowing up a statue of Clu. Following a dynamic chase with both Tessler's guards and commander Paige, Beck is abducted by a masked figure who turns out to be a still living Tron. Hurt and weakened by Clu's takeover, he reveals his mission is to find someone to take over for him as system monitor. And so begins Beck's training to become the next Tron and take back Argon City.
Tron Uprising was a success among critics and viewers alike, winning two Annie awards for character and production design and one Emmy for outstanding individual achievement. Sadly, the show only lasted one season, totaling only 19 episodes and ending with an unresolved cliffhanger. Alongside other programs of the early 2010's, the cancelation of the show is considered by fans to be one of Disney's biggest letdowns. Over the years, there have been numerous petitions to Disney to continue Tron Uprising which have been met with little success.
Review
The downfall of Tron Uprising doesn't entirely lie with the show itself. Instead, the fault lies with the Tron franchise itself and Disney's handling of it. In order to figure out the failings of the show, we need to take a trip down memory lane.
The original Tron launched in 1982 was vastly different from the relaunched series. It was one of the first to use CGI on the Disney market, telling the story of the original Grid, then known as the ENCOM mainframe, and of course the programs who helped maintain it. The original Tron was far from lighthearted, but it did have a multitude of colorful moments between the characters as well as a happy ending. While not a resounding success at the box office, it did become a cult classic. Then in 2010 Disney tried to relaunch the franchise with Tron Legacy. According to the story lore, this was an entirely separate Grid from the ENCOM variant, with this version of Tron being a digital replica of the original.
If it wasn't quite obvious already, Legacy is very different from the original Tron. Like I've already said, this is meant to be an entirely sperate world from the original movie, with only Tron and Kevin Flynn being returning characters, even then they are vastly different people from the original. Visually, Legacy is quite impressive, and I would consider a great upgrade from the original. That said, Legacy has a lot of factors holding it back. I won't make this a review of Legacy, but my point being is that there is very little tying the new to the old. Tron Legacy is just too much of a different movie from the OG.
This leads into the main problem with the Tron franchise; the audience. The OG Tron was intended to be a fun for all ages kind of movie, back when the sci-fi genre was guaranteed to draw in all kinds of people. That said, Tron was more intended for an adult audience than a child or teenage one. Thus, the majority of viewers who remember the OG Tron by the time Legacy rolls around were a much older generation. Disney unfortunately seems to have overlooked this fact; that almost 30 years had passed since Tron and the generation that was familiar with it likely had forgotten it in favor of other sci-fi gems. Legacy's target audience of young adults and kids were unfamiliar with the franchise, while the flashy colors and brand-new story were too unfamiliar to the veteran audience.
This brings me to the final part of my Legacy rant. For a franchise that was basically brand new to the world, it had very little time to explain itself over the course of Tron Legacy. Looking back, the movie felt like it was trying to cram several movies worth of story, world building, and character development into a single movie (keep in mind, this was back before the era of "everything needs a sequel"). Thus, the finished product felt rushed and overwhelming to any audience. Furthermore, compared to the OG Tron, Legacy had a far darker and more mature plot, which would further ostracize its target audience of children and young adults. Keep in mind that unlike the OG Tron, Legacy was released during an era where the majority of Disney viewers were young and expected lighter, comedic, and more kid friendly movies that had become the norm for several years now. Personally, the events of Legacy felt like they should have been spaced out over at least one more movie to tell the whole story and introduce everyone to the audience. The fact that so much had to be explained on the fly and so much was changed since the OG that it felt like a prequel movie was needed to tell the whole story. It was like Lucasfilm (Pre-Disney) decided to release Return of the Jedi first.
So now that my rant is done, we can get back to Tron Uprising with a fresh understanding of the Tron franchise as a whole. Uprising followed in Legacy's footsteps of being geared towards a more mature, teenage audience that wasn't interested in it. The story, the characters, the design, the soundtrack, it was all there, and it was absolutely amazing. Unfortunately, Legacy and Uprising didn't work as Disney intended in restarting the Tron franchise as they hoped. Not only were they not drawing in more viewers, but both the cartoon and the movie were expensive to make; what with the massive emphasis put on design and CGI. Not to mention, toy sales and video games didn't do quite as well as expected during Legacy era, and things didn't improve with Uprising. Disney, in what I can only describe as a moment of pity, would attempt to release the series on both Netflix and Disney+ in later years to little success, which is not unsurprising. By the time of the Netflix release, the story of how Uprising was canceled after a single season was already known. This would impact viewership on Netflix seeing as most Netflix viewers are looking for a bingeworthy show, something that isn't possible with 19 episodes. As for Disney+, well, not to generalize but there are only two kinds of people who use Disney+: families looking to watch Disney princesses with their kids, and Star Wars fans who are only there because Disney locked Mandalorian and Kenobi behind a streaming service. Neither party would be looking for a Tron show.
It really is a massive letdown because the rebooted Tron under Legacy and Uprising had huge potential to create a new sci-fi series for Disney. As both proved there is great world and lore building potential in the series. For only releasing one movie, a handful of video games, and Uprising the series actually has a decent amount of story to it and plenty to keep building on. It could have been a decent competitor to Star Wars (before Disney bought their way into that franchise) if they chose to put more thought process into it. (It's also worth noting that Disney was in the process of acquiring LucasFilm at the time of Uprising's cancelation, which could indicate Disney was no longer looking to create their own 'Star Wars') If you don't believe me, just look at how heavy-handed Disney was with the Star Wars sequel trilogy; they have the same characteristic failings of putting more emphasis on visuals over storytelling.
Rewrite
In all honesty, trying to rewrite Uprising is an absolute nightmare. There is so much left open ended with the series, and yet it's status as a prequel to the canon movie makes it aggravating to change anything. That and, as I've stated already, Tron has a decent amount of canon lore for only having one movie, so trying to change things isn't easy. Based on what little script was written and released post cancellation, Uprising was meant to have at least three more episodes post-Terminal followed by a TV movie that would connect seasons one and two. Some of the events that would have occurred in these include:
Quorra would have become a more regular character and would have teamed up with Beck during the TV movie
Tessler falls out of favor with Clu for his failing to capture The Renegade
Dyson falls out of favor as well for similar failures, and I mean literally falling as Clu throws him out an airlock leaving him for dead
Clu's obsession with Tron is revealed: With Tron's code, he can finally start making his own programs. This would be an interesting direction as Clu seems to be trying to replace Kevin Flynn as a God figure.
More emphasis would be put on Beck interacting with other programs and potentially recruiting them. The mysteries of the Black Guard and who they are/were/where they come from would also be touched on.
Quorra is revealed to be part of a "network" without any indication of what this means.
More emphasis on Beck operating outside his programing/attaining free will
Programs are aware of the ENCOM system and this potentially becoming a plot element later in the series
Argon becomes a warzone
Daft Punk becoming actual characters in the series working as part of Quorra's network (This was intended to be a joke written into the script but hey, its a fun idea)
This is going to be a bit different from my usual rewrites. Since I don't plan on changing any of the existing characters, I'm going to skip character introductions unless necessary. Also, I'm purposely leaving some things open ended since I'm hoping the Tron franchise can one day spread its wings and ascend as the next big sci-fi genre, and I want Uprising to connect into that. Until then, Enjoy!
Uprising Movie plotline
Intro reveals that several weeks (or equivalent time frame in the Grid) have passed since Clu arrived in Argon. Since then, the occupation has stepped up their game in abductions, home inspections, and executions.
Tessler is still acting commander while Clu and Dyson take a more "armchair general" role.
Tessler's discipline at Clu's hands happens early in the movie as a result of Tessler failing to stop either Renegade or Tron
Argon is currently a war zone with programs either trying to fight back or submitting to the occupation. The city is shown to be split in two by the war. Other programs are attempting to help Tron and Beck fight back, but it is not going well. Mara and Zed are among them (but still don't know Beck's identity).
Main plotline is that Beck has been forced to play defense with the new occupation, focusing more on smuggling civilians out of Argon and freeing prisoners rather than active sabotage. Even with Tron helping, Beck admits they can't fight this war alone.
Beck receives intel that Clu is preparing to initiate a new project of some kind as part of the war effort and sneaks aboard Clu's ship in order to find out what. He ends up ambushed by Clu and Dyson. It is revealed that Dyson let the information slip on purpose to lure out the real Tron but got Renegade instead. (Clu and Dyson don't find out Renegade is Beck; they are just both familiar enough with the real Tron to know he's a fake)
Quorra comes to the rescue and helps Back bail out. Clu punishes Dyson for letting them go and failing to deliver Tron.
Quorra reveals she was sent to Argon to discover the reason behind Clu's arrival and to locate the real Tron (She doesn't name Flynn directly, but it is heavily implied). Quorra also disapproves of Beck being the Renegade since he wasted her time on Clu's ship.
Quorra reveals the reason for Clu wanting Tron; because Tron came from the original ENCOM mainframe, he holds the "master code" for the Grid. Without it, any programs Clu tries to create are barely sentient and imperfect (figured this would be a nice way to weave in Clu's perfectionism against him). If Clu gets the master code from Tron, he can create fully sentient programs and no longer needs the repurposing procedure (It would be implied that once he has this code, Clu will exterminate all other programs on the Grid in order to recreate them as fully loyal subjects).
As described in the movie script, Clu unleashes his new project; revealed to be spherical robots with spider-like limbs that begin ravaging the war-torn part of Argon in preparation for it to be rebuilt in Clu's image.
The resulting carnage draws many programs to take a stand against Clu, especially once Tron emerges to lead the rebellion personally. Beck and Quorra meanwhile sneak aboard Clu's ship again to disable the sphere-bots.
Beck and Quorra end up fighting Dyson again. Clu leaves his ship to fight Tron directly. Dyson ends up taking a hit from Quorra that mirrors his original scar.
While the robots are eventually shut down, the Black Guards still have the advantage. Quorra then reveals the truth behind her "network" being a small army of ISO's that arrive to help push back the Black Guards and destroy a good portion of Clu's fleet with their own ships.
Despite the day being saved and the occupation pushed back to the intact portion of Argon, a large number of programs need to be evacuated by Quorra's network to neighboring cities, and Argon has sustained serious damage from the war. Beck and Tron have a somber moment together regarding the uprising.
Quorra understands that she can't bring Tron back to Tron City right now but promises to pass on his message. She apologizes to Beck, admitting he is shaping up to be a good monitor and promises to establish Argon as part of her network.
Dyson and Tesler believe that they have sustained too much of a loss to warrant staying in Argon. Clu muses that perfection takes time and effort (mirroring his lecture to Tesler earlier in the movie) and reveals that he now has proof Tron is still alive and that his victory is worth anything. He also muses on Quorra making an appearance and hypothesizes that she is working for Flynn. The occupation remains, but on a much-reduced scale. Clu also moves forward with his plan to rebuild Argon in his image.
Season 2 characters
Beck
Not sure if programs age, but a full year has passed since he first became Renegade.
Training with Quorra as well as with Tron, Beck starts using a staff similar to Tron does.
Throughout the second season, Beck starts receiving help from a mysterious silent figure he assumes to be either Tron or Quorra
Part of his new responsibilities include helping Quorra's network in smuggling citizens out of Argon.
Beck rebelling against his programing and becoming independent becomes a major plot point.
Despite all that has happened, Beck still works at Able's Garage which has since been renamed by Pavel (can't think of a name, something cringe worthy no doubt)
His relationship with Paige is gone; he knows about her becoming Chief Inquisitor and thinks she's a lost cause.
Tron
Now that he's healed, Tron starts helping cover for Beck while he's at work.
Much less jaded than before. Starts to appreciate his partnership with Beck more.
He is not the mysterious figure and has no contact with them. He assumes the figure is just a fellow rebel trying to help.
Tron hears from Quorra the reason for Clu wanting him so badly (the master code) and does some "soul searching" so to speak.
Quorra
Is not present in every episode. Appears more as a side character who assists Beck in his operations
She is shown not to be the mysterious figure as the two frequently converse. Quorra is not aware of the figures identity.
Paige
Paige begins to question her role in the Regime and is shown to be more lenient with civilians and her men. She is revealed to have taken part in the battle of Argon, and seeing so many programs rebel against Clu has made her question herself.
For her dedication, Paige is offered a promotion to Chief Inquisitor by Clu which she considers turning down. She ends up accepting the promotion as it prevents Pavel from getting it and abusing his position.
Paige has her own storyline where she starts digging through databanks to find out more about her past. Paige eventually discovers the truth about her friends deaths, as well as uncovering secrets surrounding Tesler and the Black Guards
Digit
During one of the Renegades sabotages, he sent a Recognizer filled with troops plummeting into the Sea of Simulation. Arriving on the scene, Inquisitor Paige was able to find one Black Guard still online but in critical condition. After orders from Tesler to derezz him and continue onward, Paige defied orders for the first time in her career. Taking the wounded Black Guard with her, she delivered him to the Renegade on the promise that he would see the program recovered and safely out of the city. She had no idea how important this decision could have been
The Guard in question had no name and no identity before his rescue. After recovering, he decided to take the name "Digit" as a means of identity. While recovering, he was privy to the plight of Argon's citizens and decided he wanted to help the rebellion instead. Digit would return to work as Paige's right hand man, aiding her in passing along intel to the uprising.
Digit is a new OC created for season 2. He will become a major character in future episodes (more later)
He lost his right arm as a result of the Recognizer crash and wears a prosthetic that can project a riot shield.
Digit has no memories of a prior life due to the reprogramming process. He's just an amnesiac caught between finding out his past life and trying to make a new one.
Tesler
Still works as acting commander under Clu and Dyson but knows he's on very thin ice. He becomes more desperate as the season progresses knowing Clu is not happy with his work
During Paige's digging, she discovers Tesler was a mechanic during the ISO war who ended up losing faith in his cause and defecting to Clu. This is meant to be a dark parallel of Beck's origin as the Renegade.
Tesler continues to have nightmares like the one in The Reward, these ones include being attacked by Tron
Season 2 plotline
As a result of the Battle of Argon, the city is currently being rebuilt resulting in a different landscape.
Paige makes a return to Able's (now Pavel's) Garage as part of her new position. Beck isn't really happy to see her. Paige thinks Beck being cold with her is just Pavel being a slave driver. Paige decides to use her new position to try and improve life at the garage in an attempt to help Beck. Beck admits that he remembers having fun with her during season 1, but due to stress at work keeping his friends out of Pavels' line of fire (and his other job) he can't afford to be reckless anymore. This is a mirror to Paige breaking up with Beck during Rendezvous, except the other way around.
Follow up episode, Tesler takes Beck into questioning, believing that he's an uprising sympathizer. After Tron and Quorra fail to save him, Paige leverages her new position to help him go free. Due to reading his disk as part of her position, she finds out Beck is Renegade and hides this fact from everyone out of self-conflict. She's pissed at Pavel and Tesler for undermining her authority and ruining her attempts to reconnect with a friend. This is the start of Paige losing her faith in the occupation and becoming sympathetic to the uprising.
Beck believes he is seeing Able alive again walking the streets of Argon. This is revealed to be Cyrus using another disguise to fool him.
Beck faces tension from Zed and Mara as both himself and as Renegade while they are training with him (they don't know his secret yet). He ultimately decides against telling them instead having Quorra or Tron act as his duplicate to create an alibi.
After saving Digit, Beck starts pulling his punches with the Black Guards since this proves they are more than just faceless goons.
During one outing, Beck is hurt bad and Tron has to take him back to the outlands healing pod so he can recover. While he recovers, Tron reflects on Beck becoming the Renegade.
Paige starts to use Digit to pass along information to Tron directly. Tron sees she's trying to change and convinces her not to give up on Beck just yet; he's just as conflicted as she is and needs some time.
Tron discovers the master code inside him and considers using it but realizes that would make him no better than Clu. He uses it once to save Beck's life and realizes how addictive it can be.
Dyson is shown to be working on an upgraded reprogramming process all throughout the season.
Beck reflects on his battle against Culter and Digit's change of heart and begins to wonder if the reprogramming process can be broken.
Cyrus abducts Beck with Tron and Quorra trying to find him. Cyrus is shown to be quite delusional, ranting about seeing visions and hearing voices and demands if Beck can see the same thing. Season 2 concludes with this unresolved.
Season 2 Finale
The finale begins with Clu, Dyson, and Tesler finding out Beck's identity as Renegade from Pavel. It is revealed that Pavel spied on Paige to find it.
Beck is forced to go on the run, but Pavel uses Paige's own spy network to track him down.
As a means of buying time for Beck, Paige confronts Tesler with his past along with her own history she dug up. Tesler is shown to have no remorse for his actions or the people he hurt. Paige fights Tesler and she and Digit escape to help Beck.
As a means of saving Beck and keeping the uprising alive, Tron takes the fall for him, telling Beck, "Tron's not a person, he's an ideal. Don't let it die with you."
Tron is held captive by Clu. When confronted, he reveals he knows about Clu's search for the master code. Tron also reveals that after using it and realizing how dangerous it was in the wrong hands, he deleted it from his system. Clu is furious but reasons that Tron can still be useful
Dyson's new reprogrammer is used to change Tron into (you guessed it) Rinzler
As part of his first test, Clu has Rinzler battle Tesler. It goes as well as you might expect. Rinzler is then sent to kill Beck.
Renegade Vs. Rinzler. It doesn't go well for Beck.
Rinzler manages to pin Beck down, but similar to Culter recognizes Beck once his helmet comes off. Rinzler just whispers for him to "...live..." before Beck falls into the Sea of Simulation.
Believing Argon successfully liberated, Clu decides to head back to Tron City with Rinzler after hearing that an old acquaintance has resurfaced (hint: it's Flynn). Dyson and Pavel are left in charge of finishing up Argon's rebuilding.
Paige and Digit rescue a wounded Beck and take him to a safehouse outside the city. They meet up with Quorra and the mysterious figure who reveals herself to be Yori.
At Yori's insistence, Quorra decides to follow Clu back to Tron City hoping she can somehow help Rinzler. This marks her final appearance in the show.
A final scene shows Pavel abusing his new position as Chief Inquisitor in Argon boasting about how both Tron and the Renegade are gone. He is then confronted by several Renegades. It is revealed that the residents of Argon are following in Beck's footsteps to uphold Tron's, and now Beck's, legacy by fighting back. Mara and Zed (who found out Beck's identity when Clu broadcast it) are two of the fake Renegades.
Season 3 characters
I know this series was only greenlit for two seasons, but this franchise deserves more love and attention than that.
Beck
Beck is still somewhat of a jokester, but is more mature by season 3
Tron is still a very sore topic for him. He doesn't resent Rinzler for the attack, and believes that redeeming Tron is possible one day
More of a veteran fighter now with better combat skills and experience
Now the head of the uprising and growing into his new role of leader
Paige
Still working to get past her history with Clu's regime. Even if Beck forgives her, she's not confident everyone will. She takes to wearing a helmet when interacting with the uprising.
Paige has her own story of discovering her new identity outside of the regime. This ties into the story behind the Black Guards
Paige is believed to have been killed by the Renegade. A lie spread by Pavel to slander her memory.
Yori
Takes over as Beck's mentor. She doesn't reveal herself to the majority of the uprising; only Beck, Paige, Mara, Zed, and Digit know her real identity
Yori makes no attempt to step in as the new face of the uprising, she leaves that to Beck. She takes more of a woman in the chair role but still comes out to help every now and then
Yori's origin is still unknown to the uprising, including why she kept herself hidden from even Tron
Mara
Becoming more of a self-assured leader
Has trouble learning from Beck because she's trying too hard to see him as a leader and not a friend
Zed
Zed and Mara become more of a couple over the course of the season
Like everyone else, he is struggling with self-discovery. Zed's problem is that he doesn't know what he wants his new identity to be
Cyrus
One of the few people outside of Clu's higher ups or the uprising who knows Tron is not dead.
Convinced that Tron has failed in his duties and the time has come for a new system monitor. Becomes the new big bad over Pavel and Dyson.
Hasn't quite recovered his mental state from season 2. Something still isn't right with this guys head (supposedly).
Pavel and Dyson
Pavel has taken over Paige's old job of Chief Inquisitor. It becomes apparent how lax she was with the position as Pavel abuses it to the fullest extent (or maybe he's just gone mad with power).
Dyson is now acting commander, replacing Tesler. He's still determined to dig out the uprising and Beck.
Neither of these two like each other (obviously). They spend all season bickering and shaming each other when schemes go wrong.
Season 3 side stories
Most of the side stories and filler episodes involve the uprising reclaiming Argon bit by bit. Dyson and Pavel are the main villains of these stories.
Argon has almost fully rebuilt since the Battle of Argon. Buildings are much taller and more dense, similar to Tron City.
Both Dyson and Pavel are having limited luck rooting out the uprising since there isn't just one Renegade anymore. They are shown to be (mostly) working separately, with Dyson using more subtle approaches while Pavel tries to brute force everything.
Clu is no longer interested in Argon; he has Rinzler and is hinted to be trying to root out Quorra in Tron City. Pavel and Dyson both agree that contacting him over their failures is a bad idea
Pavel leaves Able's Garage with some of his minions, considering it beneath him to run it directly anymore. Mara risks a mission to take it back, but she is forced to use a bomb to destroy the garage in order to stop Pavel recreating the sphere bots. Mara vows to rebuild the garage one day and continue Able's memory
Zed becomes closer to Paige and goes on missions with her, one of which involves rescuing a group of programs from the games. Zed discovers that these programs were once professional lightbike racers who competed in the games before Clu turned them into gladiator matches. Inspired by this, Zed resolves to help rebuild the games into something less lethal after the war
Slightly jealous of Beck's attention as Renegade, Paige begins adopting her own disguise as Yori. She is forced to stop this charade when her actions threaten to draw Clu back to Argon. Beck eventually passes on the Renegade mantle to Paige.
Paige and Digit begin a campaign to convince the Black Guards to side with the uprising. One pivotal moment is when Paige reveals she is still alive to the remaining guards, causing many to defect.
Dyson begins repairing the super reprogramer to use on the Black Guards. Paige deduces he also plans to use it on Beck, like he did Tron, and swears to stop him at all costs.
Dyson considers Paige to be a "copycat program of an even more obnoxious copycat program". The two become rivals.
Season 3 main story
Main story involves Beck, Yori, and Cyrus as the villain.
Beck is still comatose as a result of his battle with Rinzler at the start of Season 3. A few side episodes go by before he eventually wakes up healed. Needless to say, everything coming back at once is pretty disorienting.
While comatose, Beck experienced visions and dreams that seemed like he was viewing life through someone else's eyes. These visions continue once he wakes up.
Cyrus begins showing up again tormenting Beck about these visions and mocking him for "still being blind to the truth". He mocks Beck that Yori was responsible for Tron's loss
Cyrus and Beck's rivalry takes on a new tone as Cyrus believes only one of them is worthy to carry on Tron's legacy since Tron is no longer around.
One early episode deals with Cyrus stealing code to build a similar machine to the one used in The Stranger. Beck believes this is another EMP device and tries to stop him, but when the device activates, both programs start receiving more visions than before. In the aftermath, Beck's headaches and nightmares are gone, but Cyrus boast that he finally found "the truth".
Yori realizes that the EMP malfunction during The Stranger caused both Beck and Cyrus to gain a link to the Grid itself. This is why Beck is receiving visions (including those of Clu and Tron during The Stranger) as the Grid is somehow communicating its problems to them.
In an effort to find out what Cyrus is looking for, Beck and Yori rebuild the machine in secret to try the visions again. Cyrus tries to stop their efforts, revealing he has developed a sort of flawed precognitive ability from the Grid. Cyrus tries to steal something from Yori, who reveals she no longer has what he's looking for.
Beck succeeds in using the machine, which allows him to see a multitude of secrets across the Grid, including revealing that Yori knew about Clu's plan to reprogram Tron. This causes a temporary rift between the two.
Yori comes clean to Beck about her existence; she was copied from the original ENCOM system by Flynn when he copied Tron but designed her to act as a 'system backup' for the new Grid. Yori also possessed a master code like Tron did but chose to delete it after Flynn's apparent death as part of her programing.
Yori and Beck piece together Cyrus' goal; he wants the master code like Clu did, but as a means of destroying the Grid not to rule it. Since Yori no longer possesses a master code, Cyrus will need to get it directly from the source; the ENCOM server, the original Grid. Yori hypothesis' that Cyrus' visions are leading him towards a part of the Grid where accessing the ENCOM server is possible. Yori also hypothesis' that by taking a sample of code from the ENCOM Tron, they can cure Tron of his Rinzler programming.
Season 3 Finale
Yori and Beck have left Argon in the hands of the uprising and have begun searching out Cyrus. After following him to several other cities, they eventually track him to the Outlands.
Cyrus is revealed to have been building another machine from code stolen from the various cities. When powered, it begins to open a rift to the ENCOM server.
Beck and Cyrus fight, with Cyrus declaring that "it's time to see which of our ideals will triumph. One will survive and the other will die".
During the fight, Yori fails to shut down the portal and Beck's visions return full force. In trying to help Yori shut down the portal, he ends up being thrown into the portal
Instead of the ENCOM server, Beck winds up in a limbo where he is able to communicate directly with the Grid itself. The Grid acknowledges that it has insufficient system monitors needed to keep the peace, since Clu and Tron are out of action, and anoints Beck as a new system monitor due to his drive to preserve rather than destroy. The Grid also imparts Beck with the master code.
Beck returns through the portal, now as a system monitor, much to Cyrus' rage. He repeats Cyrus' manta of "one will fall, one will survive" and proves he is much stronger than Cyrus now.
Cyrus, in a bit to escape/claim the same title as Beck, tries to jump into the malfunctioning portal. Since he has been trying to destroy the Grid instead of preserve it, the Grid judges him unworthy and derezzes him just as the portal collapses.
After Cyrus' defeat, Beck takes a moment to come to terms with his new identity as well as his possession of the master code. Beck isn't ready to handle what is effectively godlike power and realizes why Tron and Yori chose to delete the master code instead of using it. His conversation with the Gird hints that he will need it outside of healing Tron, so in a moment of irony he transfers the code to the now derezzed Cyrus' disk and decides to hide it when they return to Argon, kept secret between himself and Yori.
After returning to Argon, Beck discovers that the uprising has held strong in his absence. Paige has forced Dyson back to Tron City while Pavel remains. While he hasn't yet saved Tron, he remarks that the uprising is just getting started.
Time skip to an unspecified period later shows a damaged Rinzler crawling from the Sea of Simulation and being rescued by several unknown programs. The scene reveals the uprising has found him, with Yori getting ready to administer the cure.

War of Shadow Realm ~ Origins of the Ink Demon Chapter 4 Finale [2/5]
"Meanwhile in Space Storm Galaxy..."
[What I'm Made of - Crush 40]
Neo Metal Sonic (as Metal Overlord!) : Long time no see, Sonic! My Loathsome copy!
"METAL OVERLORD : The Ultimate Overlord"
Sonic : Alright, Metal! I told you there will be a rematch and that's just good old fashioned butt kicking!
Tails & Knuckles : We're right behind you!
Mario (via Communicator) : Can you hear me, Sonic? Your old robot doppelganger rival is going batshit-crazy again with the Overlord thing! We manage to get to Ohkubo's moon, but I believe that the fight's not over! I know how to stop him and return him to normal!
Sonic : What should I do, Mario!? There's no way that our standards attack were useless against him!
Mario (via communication) : Nonsense! All you need is a little bit of Team Blast to unleash your ultimate or special move, Sonic Overdrive is the only attack that could return Metal Sonic back to the way he was before! That's your chance to attack him!
Princess Peach (o.s) : Go for it, guys! You can do it!
Neo Metal Sonic (as Metal Overlord) : Sonic, I discovered that the Time Eater was responsible for destroying half of the Ohkuboverse that it appeared 1000 years ago and revealed that it was a facade by Shadow Realm. But the Time Eater has killed the man who created the world of that Bratty Meister! So that is why I was brought into this time in the real world to overthrow the Kusakabe Legacy with my bare hands!
Penny Crygor (via communicator) : So what? The Kusakabe Legacy object revealed itself that it might be data that was stored in the mainframe, then I realized that the legacy that you wanted to ovethrow was something special to his family that dedicated him from California using the via network system. So it turns out that the Kusakabe Legacy itself was pieced together in a database stored in one disk.
Neo Metal Sonic (as Metal Overlord) : And I bet it was the time eater that created the Legacy of his family! And now I understand things from a girl-genius grunt of a plumber like you! That's just great! [picks up an Eggman Fleet Battleship] But I'll suggest that...I'LL CRUSH YOU!
Cooler (o.s) : Hey! Those are my lines!
(knuckles destroys the battle ship by punching it)
Sonic : Now then, onward with march!
Tails & Knuckles : Okay!
"Two Team Blasts attack later..."
Sonic (in Super Form) : Ha! It's working! Looks like it's working, guys!
Mario (via Communicator) : Knock him dead, that'll put up to his misery!
Neo Metal Sonic (as Metal Overlord) : Hahaha! Not even a scratch on me! I was designed to be this strong for an evolution like this to make me stronger! I am just getting started to take this seriously! But how about I give you a demonstration!
Sonic : Not good enough! This thing in Overlord form is super strong when it comes to this one in the storm! But it's one thing's for sure!
Tails : He's steady as she goes when he packs a punch!
"Two more Team Blast attacks later..."
Knuckles : Man he's tough for one giant robot!
Tails : I can't say enough that he manage to be still invincible in that form! We gotta crunch the numbers somehow!
Neo Metal Sonic ( as Metal Overlord) : When this is over, I'll overthrow my creator and start a robot kingdom over Planet Earth for my own conquest, and after that, there will be an army of clones to overthrow the governments of the real world! And when I do...I'll be unstoppable and I will conquer everything as the ultimate overlord there is! For you see, that I am...(we later cut to him in his original form on Final Fortress) defeated again?! Damn it! (Slams fist)
Sonic : Sorry! You snooze you loose! That's what you get locking up Eggman in that airship.
Metal Sonic : This is the real reason that I couldn't defeat you in that kind of form! It took me hours to combine that data and become the ultimate overlord in conquest! I had the chance of using data copy from what, Tac from Kirby? How can I rule the world when my creator notices that I started an uprising?! I only wanted rule the world as an overlord and that is it and got nothing else left in my system for years! And I would've gotten away with it, if it wasn't for your meddling self and your vile friends that I do and do not even know!
Sonic : Hey, What is what it is. It's a win win after all, it's gonna be another rematch between you and me!
Metal Sonic : I'm going to regret you that in style! And when I do, I'll disguise myself as that robot from one of your spin off game and challenge you to a bloody pulp in the Olympics!
Egg Pawn : There he is, officers! That's the one who tricked us as pawns in a corrupt game! Take him away and put him on restrictions to reset his system! (The guards handcuffs Metal Sonic)
Metal Sonic : W-What?! (Looks at the handcuffs) Wait! Wait! There must be some kind of mistake! You gotta believe! You can't do this to me! Wait! (The guards drag him away) WAAAAAAIT!!!
Sonic : Well, guess that's the end of the road, for him. I wonder how the guys are doing back on Ohkubo's moon?
"Meanwhile on Ohkubo's moon..."
Ashley : Alright! Looks like we manage to stop the mad man for good!
Kaguya : Talking about cutting it close. I hope this is wearing your powers down, Asura Kusakabe! You finally got what you deserve! (Asura vanishes into a puff of smoke, leaving a Heartless Emblem behind)
Ashley : Well, What do you know? So I barely made to rest my opened case, that the Kishin Asura was a decoy after all. So the reason that you and Maka went all that trouble for a heartless doppelganger used as a decoy. It was nothing more than a puppet created from Asura's heart, that means the real Asura Kusakabe has been dead for a long time.
Kimial Diehl : So all of this time, The Kishin that Crona was going to become... wasn't going to become a Kishin at all?
Yami Bakura : Nope. It was all part of Demon Vibe's plan for galactic conquest.
Kimial : What?! Are you telling me-
Ashley: That the Kishin Asura-
Kaguya : Isn't really-
Everyone on Earth : -A God at all?!
Sora : Now I get it, So all this time that Maka went all that trouble for a phony God and he was Demon Vibe's pawn to his game to think he is an evil god.
Maka Albarn : Then...Then...That means...
Moirai Albarn : ...the Real Asura is dead? (Everyone pauses for a moment)
Maka & Moirai : (Realizing) HOLY CRAP!! WHY DIDN'T YOU TELL US THAT THE KISHIN GUY WAS A DOPPELGANGER CREATED BY THE REAL ONE!?! AFTER ALL WE'VE BEEN THROUGH TO SAVE THE WORLD AND ALL WE DEFEATED WAS AN IMPOSTER POWERED BY A MANIAE SPIRIT?!? I CANNOT BELIEVE THAT THE STUPID GORGON WITCH SISTERS HAVE MADE US WASTED OUR LIVES FOR THAT STUPID KISHIN CRAP!!! IT'S SICKENS US AND IT'S A GOD DAMN DISGRACE!!!
Kaguya : But...But what about me?! I'm still a clown created by Shinra's grandson and I didn't even flinch nor I vanished into nothingness! Guess that means that I get to keep living on earth! If only there was a news station to catch this latest scoop, it would be pretty bummer to have this for a celebration or victory.
Fuse : That's exactly what we wanted to hear from you, detectives. Great job on defeating that imposter! We knew it all along from Channel 5
[Ulala's Swinging Report Show - Kenichi Tokoi]
Ashley : Who are they? And, what are they?
Kimial Diehl : Hold that thought! They're not Nintendo's, they're Sega representative. It's the Channel 5 News Crew!
(We then cut to Gurhal Channel 5 News)
Hal : Good evening! This is Hal from Gurhal Channel 5 news. Tonight we give you the latest stories from Real World AU that detectives to save this planet. The famous school-themed training facility Death Weapon Meister Academy was destroyed due to it's destruction by the Space Colony ARK's Eclipse Cannon, which led to the start of of this never-ending conflict called the War of Shadow Realm declared by criminal Mastermind, Neo Metal Sonic. Ulala?
Ulala : You said it, Hal. It has come to my attention that the so-called Kishin Asura has been exposed as a fake to designate the planet for complete destruction on all life on earth, has once again foiled the Yamis's plans by two detectives, Ashley and Kimial. Using their combine efforts to stop the criminal threats on corrupting the entire world, all of Asura's bad influence have been stopped, or should I say a heartless's influence would turn the world sour. How does that sound to villains like them, Fool us once, shame on them. Fool me twice, they'll spend time in Jail on Earth. How does that sound for a couple of card-playing losers like you all of the time.
Marik : [to Bakura] I told you that was a stupid idea! That was all nothing but misunderstandings!
Bakura : [To Marik] Bite me, ya mug! I have no interest from a grunt like you! I don't know if we even agree on using these heartlesses that determined for power-hungry numb nuts! Why did I ever did to deserve like this?
Marik : Same goes to you. I just happened that we're not even wearing space suits on the author's creepy ass cartoonish moon we're on.
Ulala : So, who says that this never-ending conflict is going to end pretty soon, once we get to earth for serving time at prison and get ourselves a little chat.
Necrodeus : I say that this war is not even over. I am going to make you suffer all, and I even bet that this corrupt game has officially changed, all to the rule world in Darkness!
Ulala : Huh, What are you...Hey, what's going on? Who are you!? No! stay back! I said "Stay back"! (TV BUZZING) AAAAAAAAAAHHHH!!!
Hal : Ulala, you there? Ulala, are you there? Did you get that? Hello, Ulala! What the heck is going on in here! Hey,no! What do you think you're doing?! What are those things?! (A Skullseer laughing evilly is heard) No! Don't come any closer! YAAAAAAAHHHH! *TV BUZZING*

AN ORAL HISTORY OF YTV IN THE 1990S.
Tumblr media
Will Sloan, the co-host of two movie focused podcasts, The Important Cinema Club and Michael & Us, but more importantly, the man banned from Twitter for seven days for hoping baby Yoda would die painfully, has re-released his 'Oral History of YTV', but this time on Amazon in book form.
"Some years ago I wrote an oral history of the beloved Canadian children's TV channel YTV. It's sadly no longer online... but now exists as a chapbook and ebook." - Will Sloan via Twitter
Before I write anything else please visit the following Amazon links to purchase said book. Canada: http://Keepitweird.ca USA: https://a.co/d/ium1Ion
As an enthusiastic listener of The Important Cinema Club, I find myself filled with anticipation at the mere thought of being able to read and reminisce about the fun times I had watching YTV.
Tumblr media
As a child of the 90s, there's one thing I can confidently say: YTV played a paramount role in shaping the upbringing of myself and my friends. Fond memories flood back as we recall tuning in eagerly to catch our favorite shows. It was a magical experience where every viewing promised an unforgettable adventure.
YTV was more than just a television channel; it was a gateway to happiness and endless entertainment. For kids of that era, including myself, it was a cherished part of our daily routine. From captivating animated series to hilarious live-action shows, YTV never failed to deliver on its promise of providing a good time for its viewers.
Each show on YTV offered a unique and imaginative world. Samurai Pizza Cats took us on action-packed adventures with heroic feline warriors. Reboot, with its groundbreaking CGI animation, transported us into the captivating realm of Mainframe, where Bob and his friends fought viruses and protected the digital universe. Nanalan' enchanted us with its adorable puppetry, and Stickin' Around had us laughing with the misadventures of Stacy and Bradley. These shows not only entertained us but also ignited our imaginations and made us feel like we were a part of something extraordinary.
As the years passed, YTV continued to evolve, bringing new shows and fresh memories to subsequent generations. The nostalgic pull of this beloved channel remains strong, connecting 90s kids and beyond through a shared love for the iconic shows of that era. Even now, as we reminisce about the fun times we had watching YTV, we can't help but feel a sense of joy and warmth in our hearts.
While the focus here has been on relishing the past, there's something worth mentioning about preserving the legacy of YTV for future generations. The influence of this cherished channel on Canadian culture and the hearts of its viewers is undeniable. For those who may not be familiar with YTV, it's essential to introduce them to the magic it once brought into our lives.
If you're a Canadian who grew up cherishing the wonder of YTV, or if you simply want to experience a piece of Canadian television history, I urge you to check out this book. Delve into the nostalgia, reminisce about the shows that filled your heart with joy, and let the magic of YTV transport you back to a simpler time.
Order your copy today, and let the journey down memory lane begin anew.
