Claudia and Steve too (which is why a thing that kind of irked me about later W13, though I understand the role destroying the metronome played in his character growth it’s a part of me that kinda wished the connection had stuck around to the point of them ending the show as joint Caretakers (would explain things like his increased responsibility for stuff Leena used to do and why Mrs. Frederic seemed to make a point of trying to connect with him specifically out of all the other agents under her))

Also esp. in the fic ideas I have that cross it over with Portland-connected fantasy shows like Grimm or The Librarians there’s a part of me that kinda sees Margaret and Todd from So Help Me Todd as familial-platonic-soulmates (just with the typical-for-any-sort-of-soulmate-crimeshow-duo-of-those-personality-archetypes struggle to admit that’s what they mean to each other and get past their own crap)

honestly honestly honestly warehouse 13 had a lot of failings in its writing and its pacing and its plotting and its shark jumping esp in the last two seasons and it was very much a product of its time and its genre in a lot of ways that were to the show’s detriment BUT !!!!!!!! i will say there is something really powerful to me that they killed steve in the end of s3 for an emotional tragic plot moment and THEN put in the work to Bring Him Back. and like. have it feed into his relationship w claudia and like. a large part of both of their stories in the first half of s4 is like!! the consequences and repercussions of steve coming back from the dead!! and like. no its not done as well as it could be. no they dont dig into the trauma and the fear as much as they could have for my tastes, but its SOMETHING. and like. that’s not an arc you see for gay characters very often- especially in 2011, you know? like not only was steve a non stereotypical gay character (other than that one bizarre ep he got split into his?? gay half and his boring half?? iirc?? we dont talk about that one) but like. his sexuality has very little bearing on his character, he’s not there to be the sassy bff to any of the other leads- no matter how claudia kind of tries to get him into that role in the beginning- he’s serious and he’s funny and he’s kind and he serves as a brilliant counter balance to pete and myka and claudia and he HAPPENS to be gay. he doesnt uncomfortably flirt with pete (if anything, pete uncomfortably straight guy flirts with steve) and he doesnt do makeovers and like. its just kind of delightful and fascinating to me that we got this carefully built, mulitfaceted gay character that was killed off for sympathy and tearjerking in the end of s3- and in most other shows, that would have been it (like they do with leena in the mid season 4 finale- oops) but they bring him back!!! and after some fighting for his safety and humanity he’s FINE. and he’s allowed to be gay and to be claud’s big brother and to keep working at the warehouse and he isnt fridged or buried like so many other diversity point queer characters in media, especially of that era! it’s just!! kind of delightful!!! like w13 had its flaws i KNOW it had its flaws. but like. there arent a lot of characters like steve jinks in tv shows NOW you know, much less in the late aughts/early 20teens. and he’s just very dear and special to me <3

If there truly is to be a reboot or something with W13 I’d love for it to show more of claudia’s prep to take over the warehouse. And steve shelving more artifacts as the “new leena” for lack of term. And pete and myka kinda being the new arties.

Totally! But imagine all the fake tests Claudia would put new recruits through just for shits and giggles. The new recruits think everything is a lesson but really Claudia wanted to see someone goo themselves or get stuck to a giant magnet

And of course Pete and Myka are broken up and Myka is married to HG cause at this point you know Joanne and Jamie wouldn't return unless Beringwells is canon

I have discovered I really love sci-fi procedurals, the ones where every week the team of weirdos has to save the unsuspecting world from aliens/paranormal bad guys/magic artifacts, but. BUT. 

Every single one decides somewhere around season 3 that this premise is not enough and now, after decades or centuries, The Secret Is Out and The World Will Never Be The Same and just. why.

Wow that’s HARD. :D I’m into Discovery right now so it’s gonna be that. 

First of all, if the Disco crew somehow got to the Warehouse, Tilly and Stamets would instantly disappear with Claudia and HG giving them a tour and I am also pretty certain HG and Paul would pull some competitive engineering out of their sleeves by the end of it. 

Artie would argue with Mrs F and Saru of letting them in the first place while Myka and Michael would bond over their shared experiences regarding rationality/logic vs emotion. Both know that there is always an exception where logic won’t apply to them. 

Leena would eye Mirrorgiu with suspicious eyes for a little while after deciding to like her while Pete debates in himself how dangerous it would be to ask her out. (I mean who wouldn’t. I would.)

As much as I love them I can’t add the rest of the Disco crew to my headcanon here but anyone having an idea please feel free. 

Aaaallright we have nice brotp-s and such here, let’s see if my mind comes up with something else. Well... 

Honestly this might sound a little stretched but I sort of thought about Tilly with Pete. It looks crazy enough so it might just work. What do you think?

Warehouse 13 x Persona role-swap AU:

(I think I pretty much avoided mentioning anything spoilery for either series, so I don’t think I need to put a cut here?)

Minazuki takes Ms. Fredrick's place as Caretaker, Regent, the guy who vanishes and reappears unexpectedly, and who mysteriously recruited Yosuke and Labrys at the start of the series. Not sure if he'd have Sho in this or not, nor if he'd be human or Artifact or origin or something, but he would just totally fit the role of Warehouse Caretaker, and he already loves his vanishing tricks in OG. xD

Labrys takes Micah's role... which would make her a former government agent, so not sure if she would have to be human in this AU or not? It's a world where magical Artifacts exist that can do basically anything though, so a living machine girl doesn't seem that farfetched either (especially considering I think a crossover once included the sci-fi series Eureka in its canon, soo there definitely exists technology to make it happen if that wasn't considered a non-canon episode).

Yosuke take's Pete's role, because those two funnily enough have quite a lot of similarities.

Futaba totally takes Claudia's role. She's already a supernaturally-involved hacker, and quirky and a ginger to boot.

It could then be argued that Sojiro would take Artie's role, given the relationship between Claudia and Artie in OG, and Sojiro being a pretty grumpy old man with prior experience as a government agent in his OG, but I haven't really looked through all the possible options yet, so maybe there's someone else who could fill the role better? He's got a lot going for him though, so that might be a hard seat to take.

I'm thinking... Akiren then might also take Steve's place? Because I don't think someone like Naoto would mesh quite as well with this group, and she might be a bit too austere compared against Steve (though the role-swap doesn't have to be wholly 1-for-1).

And Leena would be... hm... Maybe Fuuka? She has a similar empathic trait to her as well as a similar temperament I think, so.

Also, everyone not already an adult would have to be adults and not teens in this, and the already-adults might have to age up a little to match? (As teens wouldn’t be able to be hired for this kind of job, I’d think.)

Oh– and Sojiro's canine companion could be Koromaru theoretically. Or he could just have Morgana as a cat instead (though that'd make the mind-swapping(?) incident interesting, as both of them are more intelligent than normal animals, even if Morgana doesn't retain a supernatural origin or ability to talk... xD)

Theoretically, Artifacts could even be related to Ergo or Shadows in this, too. Though it’s kind of interesting to leave them as they are?

There's probably a bunch of other characters I'm forgetting about, but I haven't seen the show in a very long time, so that's the most I've got for now. I don't think I'm going to rewatch it to try and make this a thing, considering it’s a very strange thing to begin with, haha.

...also I don’t know if I want to think about the W13 cast getting Personas on the flipside. The Regents and the Warehouse could certainly give Igor and the Velvet Room a run for their money though...
