Excited, yet also a little sad for tonight as I head down to Billy Bob's in Fort Worth, TX for Granger Smith's very last concert.

I'm excited because I have pit tickets and I know I'll have a great time. But a little bit sad because you're not there with me and sad because you're the reason why I became a fan of his when I started listening to his music in 2017.

I started listening to his music and other country artists as a way that I can get closer to you because I knew you liked it even though I previously had it for some reason. But that's a rabbit hole that I'm glad that I went down and it's all because of you. Although when we were dating I wish I would have taken Granger's advice and anytime you try to change the station to your rock and roll I should have never thought to tell you no.

I've been listening to Granger Smiths music, all because of you Savanah, since 2017.

I knew how much you loved listening to his music. So when I'm listening to him, it feels like a part of you is still here with me.

In the words of his songs, Ive discovered ways I could have, should have & would have loved you better... If I'd known about then. Or if I'd known about love languages.

There was so many things I wish we would have had the opportunity to do, places to go both just you & i, but also as a family. (Like camping at Yosemite, or being a coach on rikers sport teams, or a scoutmaster in his scout troop, etc)

Unfortunately though because of circumstance like finances or not having a babysitter or rikers age or our living situation at the time, we never got the chance.

Guess I'll never know why you gave up so quickly on "your soulmate".

But when I listen to him, yours is the only face I always see in my head. Yours is the only one I want next to me.

Over the past few years I've been fortunate enough to see him multiple times now in concert and I'm really looking forward to being there on August 26th here in fort Worth for his very last concert. Where I'll be in the pit, scanning the room like always, for a face my soul has spent lifetimes chasing.
