Green Lantern Villain Movie Ideas, Part XXIV: Red Lantern Corps

The Red Lantern Corps is basically Atrocitus's corps, with a few notable characters like the former Green Lantern Laira or the cat Dex-Starr, but not too many else, mostly owing to the fact that the Red Ring's rage powers functionally turn the user into a mindless berserker, with a few examples such as Atrocitus. Basically, they'd probably show up wherever Atrocitus would show up.

Origin Movie: Now, while Atrocitus works as an origin villain, generally the rest of his Corps comes later, with him gathering more in order to fight the Yellow and Green Lanterns.

Sequel Movie: If you were making it a very Atrocitus-centered series, then I could see the Corps being formed in the sequel with Atrocitus as the center of the first movie.

Finale Movie: An enemy corps based on rage, led by one of the Green Lantern Corps' most prolific and dangerous villains, is certainly a direction you could go with it.

Supporting Villain: I mean, that's just kind of how it works, isn't it?

Here are my rankings of them:

Sequel Movie: Probably the best place to bring them in.

Supporting Villain: Naturally.

Finale Movie: It could work.

Origin Movie: Probably not.

Okay, Heart of Elynthi theory/observation, spoilers for episode 18 below the cut

Shamaia has major death flags, right? She spends her time with Laira in episode 18 very deliberately calling her by name instead of “child”, she was like “one day I Will Die, but it’s chill you don’t need me”, and lastly, and most damningly, she’s a mentor.

Now obviously none of this is super solid, but those along with her kinda suddenly going “actually we need to just spend time hanging out Laira, also I consider you a daughter” implies to me that Jocat is giving himself proper setup to kill her off if he ever needs to motivate Laira or just as an interesting thing.

Giving Laira the exact opposite character development opportunity as Fritz would be an interesting parallel, I’m just saying.
