Also, poor Legend definitely has communication issues. Poor bro always getting read as mean or rude.
More fuel for my Autistic Legend headcanon.

About the idea of Legend and Fable being siblings
You know, I love the idea of Legend and Fable being siblings because…
…It could actually make sense. and it could have a reason to exist.
Time died in this timeline, whatever it was a timeline where he didn't have the seven years gap and get killed as a child, either he failed during his final fight as adult.
Whatever how Time died, he died. Hylia's hero failed, because he was too young, not enough experimented, ect…
Lullaby/Zelda barely managed to do something after Time's death and the situation was not great. For years, centuries, it has been terrible.
It was the start of the Downfall Timeline.
Years and years after the death of the poor young one, Hylia realized that Ganon was going to return. That she had to trigger the two reincarnations, Zelda and Link, to stop him. Or it would be the end of the world.
But she didn't want to make the same mistake. Link wouldn't be a nobody or a helpless child. He would have more power. So he would be more armed to face the menace, more prepared.
He would have the blood of Sky, her second hero, he would have the blood of Four, who married his Zelda at his Era. And he would have her sacred blood. The kid would be powerful. So he wouldn't face a tragic end.
And so Legend and Fable were twins.
What Hylia didn't plan was the reaction toward a little prince. Good thing, the mother of the twins refused to let her baby die and asked to her most faithful personnal knight to take the baby and to protect him. He accepted, thinking that killing inocent baby was a horrible thing, whatever a prince was a monster ONE time, this baby didn't do anything.
The twins didn't grow together, of course. Legend was a energic kid, and he was very smart for his age. He was able to speak to animals and to trees. At first his uncle didn't believe him but was forced to do it when faced the truth. Legend was a sensitive kid who always wanted to help people. He didn't want to become a knight but he liked the sword traning.
Sadely, the events of Link to the Past happened a lot sooner than Hylia had planned. Legend was barely eight. (Hylia has really failed her tactic to kill Ganon with a prepared adult, yeah)
He had some training with a sword, but wasn't a soldier. He survived to all the trials until finding Fi. Because he was talented, smart, lucky.
Fi was…not in a good state. Nobody hads taken care of her since the death of the previous hero. She was forgotten. She had still his blood on her. And then this tiny child take her in his little hands and she recognize her master's blood, he hears her voice. She sees how much he was young, fragile, still innocent and decided that no, this one wasn't going to die.
So Legend, without knowing it, has learned some of Sky's fighting style thank to Fi.
He has reforged her with his tiny hand, treating her as the most precious thing in the world.
He was always holding her when sleeping because he had a lot of nightmares for obvious reasons.
And Fi corrected his movements in a fight.
He could hear her because of Hylia's blood and because of Sky's blood in his veins.
And so the idea of Hylia, after the death of the previous hero, deciding to reincarne her hero as Sky's descendant, as her descendant to give him more powers, more capacities to survive….is very interesting.
And imagine, during the events of Linked Universe, Sky being like "you have the same fighting style than me?"
"The master sword teached me!"
"She SPOKE to you *o*?"

Words cannot express how much I love the body language & paneling here, bro is confusing himself. 😂

It’s the escalation

Description and a bit more info under the cut.
A series of green, blue, and red graphics using a nice sans serif font and a Zelda display serif font with white and gold as accents.
First picture. 2024 Linked Universe Fandom AO3 Wrapped, presented by Mina, @zarvasace. (That's me!)
As a fandom, we wrote 2,273 fics in 2024
That's over 6 a day every day this year!
In smaller text below: Counting only fics tagged with “Linked Universe (Legend of Zelda)” on AO3. Counting all fics last updated from Jan 1, 2024 to Dec 31, 2024. Data pulled by hand on Jan 1, 2024 at ~2:00 AM GMT-7.
Next picture. Our favorite tags this year were:
1, Hurt/Comfort with 432 tags
2, Fluff with 352 tags
3, Angst with 335 tags
4, Not Beta Read with 260 tags. Here there is also a brief exchange in two handwriting styles. One arrow points to this tag with the remark, “perfectionists, much?” Another cursive hand replies “Be nice.” to which the first says, “no”
5, Legend-centric with 251 tags
At the bottom of this image is a piece of parchment. The scratchier handwriting says, “Ha, I'm the favorite. Take that.” and the curlier handwriting replies “Not so fast, Ledge… we aren't done yet.”
Next picture. Favorite tags continued:
6, Blood and Injury with 230 tags
7, Wild-centric with 204 tags
8, Whump with 215 tags
9, Emotional Hurt/Comfort with 181 tags
10, Good Older Sibling Warriors with 163 tags. Legend's handwriting says “Din give me strength—” to that.
Section break, and a bit more: An average of 7.46% fics every month were tagged Whump. Except October, which saw a spike to 29.5%.
Next picture. Our favorite Links. This info is presented in a table, with names on the left and number of tags on the right, organized from most to least.
Warriors, 1408 (his handwriting says: HA!! I won something!)
Legend, 1398 (his handwriting says: BY TEN.)
Twilight, 1371
Time, 1323
Wild, 1217
Hyrule, 1151
Wind, 1143
Sky, 1137
Four, 1027
At the bottom is another piece of parchment. Legend says: “JUST TEN.” Warriors says: “Jealous?” Legend replies: “I don't know if being the favorite is a good thing.”
Next picture. Our favorite secondary characters were Malon (176 tags) and Racio (160 tags)
Section break. and the most popular pairings were Malon/Time (161 tags), Legend/Racio (89 tags*), Sky/Sun (66 tags).
At the bottom is the asterisk footnote: it's no secret that our fandom tags are a little wonky sometimes. This number adds together the works tagged “Legend (Linked Universe)/Ravio” and “Link/Ravio” where the work was also tagged “Linked Universe,” assuming that people would only tag one.
Next picture. 2024’s longest fic was: This is an Adjuration by @not-freyja (linked below).

Thanks for coming along with me on this fun stats journey! It's been a privilege to add to this fandom.
I thought about adding a section for ratings or prevalence of Gen fics, but I think you can guess that we’re a Gen- and Teen-heavy fandom. You can see my raw data and some more charts over on the Google sheet right at this link. Ha, link. :)

Limbus Company: Deep Analysis of Sin
So, I decided to take a deeper dive into the different sin types in Limbus Company.
The TLDR Version:
Wrath - Unable to accept something
Lust - Having a strong desire
Sloth - Losing sight
Gluttony - Satisfaction-seeking
Gloom - Controlled by pain
Pride - Contempt of others/selfishness
Envy - Desire to surpass
Regarding the sinners' skills, the sin position is important as well. A S1 sin is a surface-level appearance, but S3 represents something deep inside them.
The detailed explanations are under the cut!
Wrath
Wrath, on the surface level, can present as being irritable or hard to get along with.
Wrath S1 examples
LCB Ishmael, who seems irritable and nitpicky at first.
Seven Heathcliff "Why am I doing this stupid job?"
Hook Office Hong Lu "Don't speak so softly, I'll feel homicidal"
S2 gets closer to how they really feel. The feeling of wrath comes from the feeling of "I can't accept this" - whether it's how they're being treated, how their environment is, etc.
Wrath S2 examples
LCB Heathcliff (past speculation) - Discriminated, mistreated, resenting what's happening to him
LCB Sinclair (past) - I don't want to get prosthetics
W Corp Hong Lu - Bored with his job.
And S3 wrath represents a strong rejection - they won't accept Anything they deem contrary to their own beliefs and ideals. It is a violent refusal.
Wrath S3 examples
N corp identities who are brainwashed - Kill all the dissenters and heretics.
Pequod Ishmael - "It's MY way or the HIGHWAY, god damn it!" (Throws a fit if another ID kills an enemy)
R Corp Ishmael - Hates it to the point she's looking for Singularity information of old R corp
LCB Rodya - I can't accept this armchair revolution and endless poverty. I have to kill this old windbag.
Lust
Lust in this case is a pursuit of something non-physical - a relationship, an ideal, a core element of your self. On the surface level, this can present as really wanting to be something.
Lust S1 Examples
LCB Don Quixote - Wants to become a great Fixer.
W Corp Ryoshu - Wants to be a great artist.
Sous Chef Gregor - Wants to improve his cooking.
S2 is a little stronger than just normal desire. They will willingly hurt other people or trample them to achieve their goal.
Lust S2 Examples
Tingtang Gangleader Hong Lu - Uses violence and is callous to those invading his turf
The One Who Grips Faust - Massacres Sinclair's village to get what she wants
LCB Ryoshu - Her idea of beauty ties in with violence
S3 is a little different - It's desiring something so badly on an existential level. It's pretty much what they live for.
Lust S3 Examples
R.B. Chef Ryoshu - Needs to be one of the Eight. Will stop at nothing to achieve this.
N Corp Heathcliff - Not brainwashed, doesn't really want to be. Wants to preserve his "true self".
G Corp Gregor - After an irreversible transformation, fully believes his reason to exist is to be a killing machine.
Interestingly, both LCB Heathcliff and Hong Lu have a Lust S3.
Sloth
Sloth is inaction, watching from the sidelines, not seeing what is in front of you. This can start with just simply being misguided, believing something to be true when it's not.
Sloth S1 Examples
W Corp Don Quixote - "I am working at a Wing!! CHOO CHOO!! Sally forth!!"
LCB Outis - Her piss-poor act of blind acceptance and obedience.
LCB Meursault - It is simply none of my business if Sinclair hyperventilates and vomits on the floor.
S2 sloth is more purposeful, not taking action when one should or purposefully being ignorant of reality.
LCB Faust - Does not tell Dante and the others a lot of information and doesn't stop sinners from running amok.
LCB Hong Lu - Despite being perceptive, does not seem to register bad situations as bad or react to pain appropriately.
G Corp Gregor - This feels wrong but I'll just continue with it anyway.
S3 sloth is a total loss of vision, not being able to see what's important to them. Losing sight of all they used to desire, and doing nothing about it.
Dieci IDs - Lost their memory and doesn't even remember what was most important to them.
K Corp Hong Lu - Doesn't seem to mind his total loss of freedom and autonomy, despite desiring freedom in other IDs.
LCB Yi Sang - Could not care about anything he once loved or aspired to be, until he was able to gain his wings once more.
Blade Lineage Don Quixote - Once used her strength to fight alongside her comrades, but now kills for purely her own sake.
Gluttony
Gluttony is a desire to be satisfied, whether it's something material or psychological. This can present like greed or selfishness at first sight.
S1 Gluttony Examples
LCB Rodya - "I want meat, I want money, I want to gamble!"
LCB Ryoshu - "Let me smoke. Let me do as I please."
Lantern EGO Don Quixote - Curious about the abnormalities and wanting to know more about them
S2 Gluttony is wanting more at a crucial point in their life, or desiring more than they could chew. It could also mean getting hooked into something or addicted.
S2 Gluttony Examples
LCB Ishmael - "I quit my job, I need something that's not labour hellscape... Hm? That hag can sure talk..."
R Corp Heathcliff - Began deriving enjoyment from killing
N Corp Don Quixote - Didn't even need the brainwashing, got hooked onto the N Corp ideology herself
S3 Gluttony seems to be the final stage of seeking what they desire - being satisfied, even when they shouldn't be.
S3 Gluttony Examples
Tingtang Gangleader Hong Lu - Seems completely happy and enjoying himself
Seven Heathcliff - Actually learned to like his job
W Corp Hong Lu - Doesn't want praise or a raise, just fine with how things are now
Gloom
Gloom represents pain, and how it affects how the person treats their situation or other people. On the surface level, they may appear melancholic or having given up.
S1 Gloom Examples
LCB Yi Sang, LCB Gregor - Self explanatory.
Rosespanner Meursault - Crushed by work
R Corp Ishmael - Headache, pain, does not like it here
S2 Gloom is a moment of despair, when something in their heart was broken. This may also involve guilt and inflicting pain.
W Corp Don Quixote and most W Corp IDs (Except Hong Lu and Ryoshu) - The shocking reveal of what W Corp really is.
N Corp Heathcliff - "What the hell am I even doing??"
Lobotomy EGO Heathcliff - "All my friends are dead."
S3 Gloom can represent letting their pain affect how they treat others. Lashing out, being insensitive to others' pain, or simply giving up and accepting the hurt as inescapable.
W Corp Yi Sang - Abandoned hopes for freedom, just wants it to hurt a little less
G Corp Outis - Knows she cannot escape the unfair treatment
LCB Ishmael - Lashes out and hurts others because she is deeply hurting, making it more painful for her too
Pride
Pride is the belief that they are different from other people, and so the rules don't apply to them. This can seem as arrogance at first, even if they are not actually like that.
S1 Pride Examples
LCB Sinclair - Rich boy 1
LCB Hong Lu - Rich boy 2
LCB Faust - Doesn't hide that she thinks she's better than everyone else
S2 Pride can contain disdain for other people, and believing they are better than those around them. Therefore, their actions can be excused in their eyes.
S2 Pride Examples
LCB Meursault and LCB Outis - Competent and they know it themselves. Outis thinks of her comrades as dirt and points and laughs when they die.
W Corp Ryoshu - Her art comes from chopping up the dead and deformed passengers, doesn't give a single shit about them
LCB Rodya - Believed she was special enough to make a difference and split the hag's skull.
S3 pride goes a step further - their own desires take precedence over anyone else's. They may even see other people's lives as literally the same as a blade of grass. If they want something, they'll trample everything and anything.
S3 Pride Examples
The One Who Grips Faust - Probably doesn't even give a shit about the grand ideology or her minions. Just did it because she could, and wanted to.
The Middle Little Sister Don Quixote - "I can kill anyone who disrespected my organization!"
LCB Ryoshu - Has the littlest regard for human life.
Envy
Envy can start out with the simple desire to surpass someone, to become better than others. To want more than what other people have.
S1 Envy Examples
Tingtang Gangleader Hong Lu - Began wanting to be stronger, to have more power.
LCB Heathcliff - Rich bastards are annoying, they don't deserve it more than I do
Shi Ishmael - Just wants to survive in a world of dog eat dog
S2 envy is the need to be better than what you once were, to surpass yourself and get something accomplished.
S2 Envy Examples
LCB Yi Sang - Bettered his own craft and created the mirror.
Pequod Members - Lay their past self to rest, and opted to hunt the whale.
R.B. Chef Ryoshu - Wants to make better and better pies
S3 Envy is the result of their desire to surpass - or that they have accomplished something, but with a heavy price.
S3 Envy Examples
W Corp Ryoshu - Extremely powerful, but her sword will suck up her health if she doesn't charge it properly.
R Corp Heathcliff - Gained insane power but lost something important to him in the process.
LCB Sinclair - Was able to avoid getting prosthetics but his whole family dead.
Pequod Heathcliff - Managed to get out of the Middle but is covered in scars he can't erase.
I will continue to write more specific theories, but this is how I feel about the sin affinities right now! I'd love to write about EGO and enemies as well soon.

Checkmate ♚
Apparently a temporary AR (Otome) game is coming soon and the artwork for it is just breathtaking! It is also full of details I want to explore OF COURSE. My brain is doing tetris things again, oops.
Looking for a senseless meta about chess pieces? You're in the right place, come on in~
>> Chess Theme
White vs Black
The first topic is obviously the chess theme. Of course, this part is to be taken with a grain of salt since the pieces aren't correctly disposed on the board. However, the characters themselves are walking on their respective squares except for Vein (because he's all powerful and he's above your stupid rules. Probably). Notably, Liu Xiao himself seems to be leaving a white square. And if there is any meaning to it, I'd like to believe it makes a gray character out of him.
Now, what can we say about the chess pieces themselves?
White: rook, pawn, knight
Black: rook, mystery piece, king
Each character is paired with a chess piece.
The most reassuring clue to me is that a white piece has been given to Xia Fei. Which, there is a fat chance this makes an ally out of him. He might be only a Pawn ♙ for now. For those who are not familiar with chess, a Pawn can only move ahead, never back, one square at a time. It has some cool moves too but it depends on the game you want to play. If the path is open, a Pawn can reach the other side of the board, turning it into a Queen ♕. If a Pawn can only move ahead in small range, a Queen literally rules over the whole board. She's quick, vicious and dangerous once she has enough space to move as she pleases. Of course, he can also be a mere Pawn, a tool to manipulate Lu Guang and Cheng Xiaoshi.
[Edit: since I always turn mine into Queens because I like to inspire fear and admiration from my brother, a Pawn can also turn into a Rook, a Bishop, or a Knight. I like to think of Xia Fei as a Queen but it's very interesting that he could turn into either Vein/CXS, Liu Xiao or Lu Guang by the end of Yingdu Chapter. ]
Cheng Xiaoshi and Vein both getting paired with a ♖ Rook ♜ could mean they use the same kind of power or are equivalent in some ways. Rooks have a large range, can move horizontally and vertically, ahead or back. They are better used when paired with other pieces, though, cause a lonely Rook ♖ is an easy pray. I think the main focus here is the similarity more than the piece itself. Lu Guang seems to be the one being punished and haunted, but Vein probably offered his power to Cheng Xiaoshi (or Lu Guang, according to the last Yingdu Chapter PV). My personal theory is that Vein mirrors or shadows Cheng Xiaoshi's shape because he is the source of his power. Vein's position, if there is any relevance to it, keeps Lu Guang's Knight ♘ from moving at the center, his natural and most efficient position.
Toppled King
Liu Xiao has two pieces by his side, a King ♔ and a mystery piece. The merch revealed the later to be a Bishop ♝.
Note that only amateurs tend to topple the King. It is regarded as some kind of pop culture-only approach to chess. Because of this, let's take a look a what an actual checkmate is (where we don't get to step on the vainquished).
Checkmate is any game position in chess in which a player's king is threatened with capture and there is no possible escape. In chess, the king is never actually captured. Checkmating the opponent wins the game. The player loses as soon as their king is checkmated. In formal games, it is usually considered good etiquette to resign an inevitably lost game before being checkmated. (cf. wikipedia)
If Vein, the current character we might recognize as the ultimate villain of the season, is only a Rook ♜, equivalent to Cheng Xiaoshi, who does the King ♔ represent? My personal opinion is Time, Fate itself. The song "Mastermind" supports this theory, and Lu Guang himself really is defying the natural order to save Cheng Xiaoshi, after all. It would make perfect sense. Stopping the clocks at a tournament is the sign of surrender. So basically, the game is over when one gives up and stops when the King has nowhere to go.
The character of Liu Xiao is given a lot of care in this specific artwork. He actually always stood out, since his very first appearance in the season 2 artworks, walking past Lu Guang and Cheng Xiaoshi's portrait, looking away from us. Here, again, he's not interested in the audience, focuses on the photograph of what fans reckon as Lu Guang from "Dive Back in Time".
The truth is, he's playing the long game, he has no time to spare, and he regards people as puppets. There has been theories about him having a hidden agenda, independently of Vein, using/working with Li Tianchen and Li Tianxi for his plan. His intervention in "Trial Train" speaks volume of his strategic mind, "they wanted to escape but didn't realize I blocked the exit a long time ago". Also, one hundred years wouldn't be enough to escape.
This merciless sharpness makes the Bishop perfect for Liu Xiao. Funny story, the Bishop ♝ is not actually a priest, but it represents a war elephant. Historically, the war elephant's main use was to charge the enemy, break their ranks, and instill terror and fear. That's fitting.
Another possibility regarding the toppled King could be that it refers to Liu Xiao's background. The fallen piece could be a resolved situation but the motivation behind Liu Xiao's intent to manipulate the timelines. Perhaps he played this game before and lost. Does Lu Guang know him or is Liu Xiao a mere stalker? Did they play this same game together or against each other?
There's a lot that can be speculated but it is hard to say what these pieces represent for now. As I said before, this read is based on popular imagery of what chess is, not on the actual strategy on the board itself. Secondly, these three new characters we have yet to meet, they don't have a defined role in the canon, not until Yingdu Chapter finally aires.
>> Tokens
Each character is giving a object. I guess it might be relevant to the type of gameplay the AR game will offer but for the sake of this meta, we're still gonna try to understand why those in particular.
Cheng Xiaoshi has a camera. I don't think it deserve further analysis, his powers exist through the lens after all.
Xia Fei has a clock. Guess the time? 10:10. For those unaware, it is a very recurrent time. Put the promotional poster aside, I recommend you pay attention to the time on the clock in the Studio, above Lu Guang's head, right before the gang gets a ominous call from Xu Shanshan's phone at the end of 1x09. If it should mean anything about Xia Fei himself: I won't say it enough but, really: DO NOT TRUST HIM. Or, you know, perhaps he's doomed: it is worth mentioning that except for Xia Fei's Pawn ♙, each character is affiliated to a piece which can move forward and backward on the board.
Liu Xiao has a gear. I find this one intriguing because, so far, this object has belonged to Cheng Xiaoshi's imagery (cf. "BREAK!"). For someone on an ambitious project such as controlling timelines, he is giving a small tool that cannot be used on its own, is part of a machine. Could be relevant to the way he does things, never getting his own hands dirty, working through others. Or it could be that he's himself just another player, played by Fate. Or perhaps, he has the missing piece that Lu Guang needs to save Cheng Xiaoshi, who knows?
Vein is already using his own item: the pipe. He's the only one owning his object and aware of it.
>> The Case Study of Lu Guang
Because of course, our favorite character is actually the shadiest of all, I will dedicate a whole section about him specifically. Why do I insist on calling Lu Guang shady? We know and we see his chess piece is white. But you have to take a closer look to make out the White Knight ♘. The value of a Knight ♘ is equivalent to the Bishop's ♝. But ultimately, its worth less than Cheng Xiaoshi's Rook ♖.
L shaped path
Moving only in an 'L' shaped path, Knights ♘ are the most effective from the center of the board. This is because they get a broader reach in all directions from the central part.
Now, this is very important. Why should it be a mystery that Lu Guang's piece is a knight? What is a Knight ♘? The answer resides in the mechanism of his maneuver.
Part of the idea of the knight maneuver is to flank. And since the Knight is not a horse but a man on a horse, the odd maneuver reflects the knight's ability to guide the horse he's riding (to an extent). In other words, since the Knight comprises two entities (the man riding the horse), the move should sensibly consist of two parts as well, to reflect the added agility of the athletic horse. Conversely, the Knight has access to a maximum of 8 squares (as opposed to the "equal" Bishop's maximum of 13) because the horse is still an animal with a mind of its own.
Note that if you place a Knight ♘ somewhere on the margins, its efficacy will diminish exponentially. Additionally, if he only moved two squares, straight or diagonally, the Knight ♘ would always be restricted to the color squares that he started the game on.
Lu Guang being the Knight ♘ doesn't only means that he moves unconventionally. It is reflective of his duality. Perhaps, the fact he's using his power and Cheng Xiaoshi's. There is another aspect of him we could address here:

For one thing, "BURNING PALACE" brings back the theme of strategy board game with the checkers this time (you see black pieces falling). It also introduce the Four Heads from playing cards. The fact they bothered to mention it implies a Fourth character.
Xia Fei: ♠
Liu Xiao: ♣
Vein: ♦
The fourth color ♥ is missing and I'm secretly convinced that it's Lu Guang's color.
Enygmatic Tokens
The portrait behind Lu Guang is Lu Guang himself, from "Overthink". This image appears in the first bridge, when the lyrics goes "how did my sight got stolen once more?", superposing Lu Guang's face with mysterious shapes, erasing his eyes/power. This particular line comes to confirm what we already know: Yingdu Chapter isn't a resolution, let alone a happy ending, but a repeat of a tragic event in an unchangeable node. The end is the same, once again. Lu Guang's hope and happy ending has been stolen once more. And STOLEN also implies that there is an intent behind this failure.
A portray is still a photograph though, and it can be used to dive back in time.
What is the most curious to me is the familiar eagle on Lu Guang's chest. Eagles belongs to Cheng Xiaoshi's imagery so why does Lu Guang is wearing them here?
An interesting take would be that Yingdu Chapter isn't actually from Lu Guang's perspective, but from Cheng Xiaoshi's, diving in a picture taken by Lu Guang. This would be some kind of plot twist and would definetely makes the big reveal easier but not less painful.
I'll probably make a whole meta about this symbol at some point but in the meantime, I'll let you know the eagle is associated with strength, power, wisdom, and freedom. The eagle's ability to soar high in the sky was believed to be a symbol of divine protection and spiritual guidance. Additionally, eagles are tied to the sun. Some people see them as signs of a bright future on the horizon. As a symbol of light, they embody both the intensity and heat of the sun as a fearsome force of nature, as well as the warmth and benevolence of the heavens.
This positive symbolisms are deeply rooted in Cheng Xiaoshi's nature, but if Yingdu Chapter actually brings us back to one earlier repeat, we can assume that Lu Guang had initially a brighter outlook on his mission.
The glasses are back and I'll say it again: once is weird, twice is a coincidence and thrice it's a pattern. The portrait shows Lu Guang without eyes but his item is a pair of glasses. Might be a subtile hint of denial there. As far as glasses go, pink is a peculiar color. It helps to 'voir la vie en rose', as the french says: "look at the world through rose-coloured glasses." Meaning, being delusional.
Might it be the eagle or the glasses, I'd say they're both representative of Lu Guang's state of mind at the time: hopeful.

Speaking of Legend’s rabbit form
Reading about aggression in rabbits & cooing over how surprisingly appropriate it really is as Legend's spirit animal. 🥰
Source: https://rabbitwelfare.co.uk/aggression-in-rabbits/
The moment running's not an option, or to protect friends+kits, rabbits are in-fact notoriously aggressive. They're territorial yet social animals. Fussy yet also ready to fight god for their friends or young.
Cue Bunny Legend attacking a monster or something to protect one of the Chain members, surprising himself most of all. 😂

Remember when we were screaming back in s2 for Link Click being deceptive with the eye colors? (Re: CXS being possessed by LTC)
This Yingdu arc, I’ve come to understand that possession abilities don’t show their colors (Yellow and Red) to the characters within the show. I mean, we already knew this applies when CXS dives into someone else in the past. We just didn’t think it would also apply to LTC when he dives into another in the present.
To emphasize, possession colors are only ever shown for the audience’s reference. Link Click can hide it anytime when they think it’s not important to show it…like in the majority of Yingdu Ep 1. We already know that LG has dived back in time to possess his past self, so we don’t need to always see his eyes in yellow. That would be redundant.
Therefore, scenes where the Yellow/Red possession colors are explicitly shown should warrant special attention from us.
For example, this...
S2 dive (normal eye color) vs Yingdu dive (power color)
In Yingdu, Lu Guang hasn’t dived yet but his eyes are already yellow. There’s already been lots of discussions about how YE1 is multiple timelines being stitched together, and I think that, in this scene specifically, we have a future!LG diving back to this timeline where CXS died in order to use (reuse?) the sunset photo that serves as a “portal” to his first meeting with CXS.
A dive in a dive.
If this true, Link Click is gonna get even more confusing 🫠

This is why that little epilogue scene of Link in Oracle Of Ages teaching Ralph the Spin Attack is so impactful to me frfr.
Ralph might be a completely unrelated knight from a foreign country, but Legend finally found someone he felt is worthy & fitting to pass on what’s likely one of his few surviving family traditions.
Speaks volumes to how much Legend respects & values Ralph by the end of OOA, likely one of the first knights he fully trusted since his journeys began.
(Notice, when Legend in LU expresses disdain for knights, he very specifically says “Knights Of Hyrule,” gee, I wonder why. 😆)
Sometimes I'm hit upside the head by remembering that Legend is the last surviving member of his family line, all because Ganon systematically had a friend of the vet's dad hunt down and slaughter everyone else in the family in an effort to stop the hero ever rising to stop evil's return.
I wonder if that weighs on him. If the fact that the Hylian Knights are no more, and the only people who bear the same title now have dirtied it in the eyes of Hyrule and made it something to fear. I wonder if that's why he resents them so much. What if that's why he spurns his own knighthood in favor of being "an average nobody"? Because remembering he's the last one, that he's alone, just hurts too much?
I wonder if there were family traditions or customs that he practices alone, if he practices or acknowledges them at all. I wonder if he grapples with the fact that there's no one to teach him any of them because he was so young when they all died. What was lost with all of them? What stories and memories that were passed down for generations will he never get to know about? Will never know existed? I wonder if he wanders like he does because he's still searching for any lingering traces of what his heritage once was, for those pieces they couldn't give him themselves.
I wonder if he resents Twilight because the rancher can see and touch his own history on Lon Lon, meanwhile he can never. If he hates his brothers for having communities they're ingrained in, traditions and celebrations and memories and customs, all of which were lost in his family before he ever got a chance to know about them.
I wonder if he feels obligated to preserve the family legacy by having kids of his own, even though he's already lost the love of his life. If the fact that his family dies with him weighs on his mind.
What do you think it's like, being the only one left?
#I don’t think Ralph has any idea how big of a deal it was for Link to pass that on to him#Linked Universe#LU Meta#LOZ meta#LU Legend#Underrated Lore#Ralph

Shiguang's domestic bliss : an Asian perspective
For most of us Asians...the image of 'love' looks quite peculiar. While the traditional 'romantic' stuff is still prevalent in our culture, it's relatively modern. In Asian households, 'love' has always taken priority over 'romance'. Let me explain.
In Shiguang's case, they never got that 'feeling nervous around each other', 'butterflies in stomach' love. Instead what they get? They get the 'bickering with each other', 'call each other nicknames', 'doing each other favours', 'comfort each other without sharing a word' love. They live in each other's presence without a doubt in mind about the other's loyalty. Needless to say, that's very reminiscent of an old married couple who have passed the 'honeymoon phase' way back. Except, Shiguang never had that honeymoon phase.
I think, to get the most out of my perspective, I need to give some more cultural context:
As Asians, we:
Are not very big on PDA
Most of still prefer arranged marriage, as most of us value partnership between spouses than typical romance stuff anyway.
More than feelings, we prefer cooperation between partners. Also, we heavily condone divorces(bad thing, I know) meaning we,like Shiguang, value 'partnership for life'.
(hilariously Shiguang's 'partnership' parallels a 'arranged marriage scenario very well XD)
They demonstrate a bond that only come with living together for a long term, sharing life with each other. A kind kind of fondness that grows with time. It is showcased in season two when CXS was told lg was dead, instead of recalling some grand sentimental moment, recalls all the little moments of lg (affectionately) reprimanding cxs. I don't know if I can call it 'romantic',but it definitely comes across as extremely domestic.
As someone who lives with my family, my parents interactions are very interesting to observe keeping this context in mind. They undoubtedly love and care for each other, but don't leave a single opportunity to criticize and mock(playfully) each other. Does that sound familiar?
Moreover, 'loyalty' and 'trust' are the most important values that are cherished among couples.
So if someone says, 'shiguang have zero romantic chemistry ' maybe we need to keep in mind that maybe 'romance' can mean different things in different contexts. It's something only the people who are experiencing the relationship can tell.
I know that's not what the director intended, but I think we can experience and expand our perceptions while engaging in a piece of media. Shiguang may not be a romantic couple, but they live like one, and their bond is not any lesser because of it.
I could've said a lot of things but my thoughts are all jumbled up now. I know there are a lot of things to talk about Link Click, but let's be honest , Shiguang is at the heart of it and I'll not get tired of talking about them.
Anyway, feel free to share your thoughts :)

spoilers for link click bridon arc ep 1
ive seen some people criticizing the new link click episode for being confusing or sidetracking the main plot, and i think they are missing a lot of what The Point of this episode is.
so first i wanna talk about WHY i think this episode is structured the way it is and then i wanna talk about the new information we've received in terms of the lore and timeline shenanigans and generally ramble about how great of a set up episode this!
SO first: the structure of the episode. ive seen quite a few people confused or unhappy with the plot lines this episode, and i think first its important to understand that that was two episodes mushed into one.
1st episode - anime con
2nd- scammer girl
soooo lets talk about what these two episodes do for the overall narrative AND our understanding of the characters.
in episode 1, we see cxs die - and there is a LOT of mystery still surrounding this event but i think what we're supposed to gather is that there are two main timelines. timeline a (the original where we see cxs die) and timeline b (the timeline were following for the rest of the season and in s1 and s2). we've been shown no reason to believe lu guang has traveled back more than once. this is the first time that we see lu guang travel - evident by his emotional reaction to seeing cxs die. its not resignation, its shock. he didnt expect him to die at all. and his reaction to seeing cxs again in their first meeting in timeline b.
so what is the anime con sideplot doing there? firstly i think its evident by the way lu guang turns away near the end that he is planning to stay away from cxs. but he chooses not to BECAUSE of the way we get that classic feel good adventure with a problem and resolution- cxs LIKES being helpful and kind, it makes him happy. and seeing cxs happy makes lu guang happy and so he decides to abandon the idea of leaving. in a meta sense the episode returns us to a sense of normalcy not just to the audience but to lu guang too. secondly, this episode shows us how lu guang introduces his powers to cxs and qiao ling. he tells them its divination, and while he eventually tells cxs that thats not true, it does show us how qiao ling would know to get them jobs in s1 while not knowing about their powers.. she thinks lu guang is psychic lol! also in this timeline (timeline b) this is the shiguang meetcute!! this is how they became friends! this is re-contextualizing all of season 1! super cool and exciting!
so for episode 2- what the purpose here? mainly its too show us a rudimentary form of what shiguang's missions are like! think about it! this episode is the first ever time cxs goes on a mission with lu guang in his ear telling him what to do! this is SO IMPORTANT for contextualizing their relationship with each other! also cxs being accidentally put in danger and lu guang being able to save him this time? this is cathartic for lu guang as well, to trust he can keep cxs safe, this is why he asks to live w cxs at the end of the episode!
tldr: this episode's structure might feel kinda all over the place but thats kind of the point! lu guang as well as the audience are having to resettle in a new timeline, and the stories her serve as the avanues to understanding the characters and timeline better!
so what did we learn about the LOREEE?
1st: timeline a shiguang were messing with the past which is why vein comes to kill them - what they were messing with and why is still yet to be revealed, but it wasnt due to lu guang traveling to save cxs cuz cxs hadnt died yet
2nd: the 12 hour limit is there because if you stay for longer than 12 hours in the photograph you stay there forever - you become part of the photograph, which is why lu guang's eyes return to normal from the yellow. we do not yet know if this means that lu guang no longer has cxs's power or if he still has it.
3: there is likely only two timelines - timeline a where cxs dies and timeline b- the current one were in and the one that takes place in s1 and 2.
4: cxs probably gets his powers from someone in london dying in his arms
5: Powers are passed down through death, which means in s3 qiao ling will have li tianxi's powers!!!!
6: lu guang is absolutely weak to cxs puppy eyes! that man folded immediately
thats all ive gotten from just this episode! in conclusion, this episode does a great job of confirming SO MANY theories, giving us an insight into the characters (especially lu guang) and setting up the adventure going forward that leads them to london! really excited to see how the next episodes play out!!!
#link click#link click spoilers#link click yingdu chapter#shiguang dailiren#cheng xiaoshi#lu guang#link click meta#link click theory#idk i have a lot of thoughts and ive watched the entire episode three times already#so if you have questions or are confused about something in the episode or in general or just wanted to chat and ramble about lc#please come chat w me!

do you think they noticed a change, the first few loops. i think they did. because how could they not, cheng xiaoshi and qiao ling, the two closest friends lu guang has, seeing him walk out of the room through a camera shutter and re-enter changed. diminished, faded, sad, the worn and cracking face of an old photograph. more and more tired each time he dives, further and further back with each attempt. every time a failure. and even as he lets the tides of time weather him more - render him a ghost, it feels like sometimes - even as lu guang changes more and more from the person he used to be, so too does that moment of disconnect in his friends’ eyes shorten and fade. because they don’t know him anymore. the golden stretch of time he spends by their sides before it all goes wrong is sliced thinner and thinner with every photo he uses, his touch blurring the memory with blood. each time he fails they know him less - the first him, the one unburdened by the terrible knowledge he now holds and the weight of too many failures.
soon they will never have known him at all.
Because you would notice if your best friend time travelled from a horrible future, but not if he travelled back so far he erased the person he once was (the person you knew) (the person you loved, first. before you loved this newer-older transparent version, never knowing a difference.)
(and this too is a loss to be grieved, he thinks sometimes in the dead of night to the sound of soft breathing in the bunk below, selfishly. but it is worth it if cheng xiaoshi lives.)
(the death of everything lu guang ever was is worth it if it means cheng xiaoshi lives.)
#My theory that photos cant be reused so lu guang started out diving to just before Whatever Bad Thing Happened. like a reasonable person#but hes running out of photos so every time he has to go further back in time and erase more of the original timeline. yeah#seagull.mp3#link click#link click spoilers#i know cheng xiaoshi is the dead one who exists only in memory but thats from lu guangs pov. to everyone else *lu guang* is the ghost#i think about this a lot#lu guang coded#<- for blog organization#kind of a nothing post but something about this sunk-cost-fallacy-plagued freak of a catboy makes me want to try writing bad meta. deal

Qiao Ling knew too much in S2 and it's uncanny : re-watch and unexpected findings that have me banging my head against the wall
It's so funny that I go to check something crack/non serious stuff in S1 and S2 and come back with jaw dropping stuff.
I went to revisit ep 8, season 2 for this photo
someone said, " zoom in and you will see kitty's cleavage" FINE CHAT I'll do it for the car
BUT I WAS NOT EXPECTING THIS
Qiao Ling : If you ask me, what has happened is inevitably what will happen.
(the most shocking one)
Amongst countless outcomes, Lu Guang sacrificed himself to save you.
Huh?!
I know it's the recent sacrifice they are talking about but somehow it also makes me feel...there is something missing?
This is episode 8, season 2. It doesn't sit well with me, Qiao Ling can't just say that. HOW is it so given that a wounded hospitalised person who got fucking stabbed and nearly bled to death sacrificing himself by getting himself kidnapped to save his friend?! The conversation should not end here!
When I first watched this, I thought Qiao Ling was talking from ethical wisdom (it still unnerved me because Qiao Ling is the one who ultimately reasons with Cheng Xiaoshi and makes him take action) but this suddenly feels very out of place for a Qiao Ling who usually did not even know for a long time what Cheng Xiaoshi and Lu Guang's powers were and she didn't even seem that interested. I mean yes she is empathetic and stuff but, sacrifice is a loaded term.
ALSO
Lu Guang didn't seem to like getting kidnapped either. His primary motive was to save Cheng Xiaoshi and then he tried to catch Li Tianchen and Li Tianchen 's power possessed him and it forced that diving Cheng Xiaoshi out of his body.
Now what if I told you, a future Lu Guang tried diving into that photo? Since he can dive, why can't he dive again?
But anyway my point is how tf both Qiao Ling and Cheng Xiaoshi construct the theme of 'sacrifice' just like that. Highly possible Lu Guang accidentally got kidnapped, right? I mean that is probably what happened.
Cheng Xiaoshi doesn't seem to ponder much about it but his reaction is a bit off too. Please tell me if I am wrong, did Lu Guang sacrifice himself anywhere or is it implied that he sacrificed himself to save Cheng Xiaoshi in season 1 and season 2. I am at a loss.
Then Qiao Ling reiterate those cursed lines :
That fate is inevitable.
The past or future must not be changed/ past or future let them be.
what in the theory of predestination is this 😭

okay i understand the reason why ppl put ivantill and shiguang in the same box (doomed black and white yaoi) but oh my godddd the parallels between shiguang and mizisua make me so genuinely insane and i don't see. anyone talking about it in fact. if you have i'm sorry but i need to do this for my sanity
LOTS OF SPOILERS FOR BOTH LINK CLICK AND ALNST UTC! <3
starting with the fact that i don't think their personalities align perfectly or anything but just the way their relationships operate are Pretty Damn Similar
your ignorance is my bliss
let's start with mizisua for this one!
it's abundantly clear from the fact that mizi was actively looking forward to singing with sua on the stage that she had no idea what had to happen. she was a sheltered kid from the start and she had this innocence and naivety about her that, in my opinion, is part of the reason why sua was attracted to her. mizi essentially represented all of the happiness that everyone else could have if they weren't burdened by the knowledge and the fear of their looming deaths. and sua wanted her to stay that way, she wanted mizi to take a simple kind of joy in just being able to sing with the person she loved the most. because she thought that was right.
the thing that's the worst about this is that she made this decision on her own. she never let mizi decide if she wanted this knowledge, and just as ivan said, it ended up being a burden to mizi.
and now, for shiguang :>
when lu guang decides that he's going to dive back in time to save cheng xiaoshi, he also makes the decision to never let cxs know. his mantra is to never change the timeline, and he sticks to these morals throughout it all, never giving cxs so much as an inkling of what he'd done. to him, none of it mattered without cxs. he refused lose the one he cared most about without a fight, so he fought and fought and hid it all from cxs. second only to saving cxs himself, lg's most important mission was to make sure that cxs never ever found out the true nature of what he did. because the knowledge would kill him, knowing that cxs's life was the direct cause of someone else's life would kill cxs, and lg wanted to protect him from that.
insert quote about how lu guang liked cheng xiaoshi's naive nature. head in hands. goodnight.
2. my god, my universe
i guess this one is more of a minor thing on the part of shiguang, so let's start with them lol
technically speaking, there's no confirmation of what lg's true true thoughts about what cxs meant to him, but there is that one line from the live action opening that's "i don't wanna lose my world". combine that with, you know. All Of Lu Guang's Actions. and you can take a stab at the fact that cxs meant the world to him.
and of course the famous mizisua line(s).
i mean idk what to tell you. repeatedly throughout canon, they refer to each other as soulmates, each others' universes, their gods, saviors, etc etc the list stretches for the eternity that they could've spent together but they were robbed from. thanks. i don't need to say more AHDSHFJSF
3. the meaning of death
this one's obvious i supposed but let's talk about it anyways! first, mizisua
sua's death drives mizi forward. it changes all of her actions in the future, from her lashing out at luka to her full-on rebellion against the aliens, it's all because of sua. she doesn't have the power to bring sua back, so she does everything she can possibly do to make sure nobody ever loses anyone the way she lost sua. in her memory, in a way, for her.
and now shiguang
i mean the entire premise of the end of link click was that cxs's death drives lg's every action. he, unlike mizi, has the power to go back and fix the things that went wrong, so that's exactly what he does! and when he manages to save cxs, he intends to do everything in his power to keep him
i thought i had a lot more to say about this but i guess that's it? most of my thoughts were related to that first part. and the fact that they Liked Each Other HSUHFHSDF (i love ivantill i pinkie promise)
aaaanyways this was so dumb but i'm going to post it because i'm not a quitter and it'll be more embarrassing if i spent this much time writing this out only for it to rot in my drafts so BAM hope you enjoyed this!
#shiguang#mizisua#link click#alien stage#alnst#sgdlr#shiguang daili ren#mizi#sua#lu guang#cheng xiaoshi#meta#analysis#i have actually no idea what i was trying to accomplish with this but whatever#me and my cousin are gonna write a shiguang // mizisua au#or like two whatever it's gonna be a Thing and#i just think a lot abt the way they're so similar and it was making me so super ill and i needed to talk abt it#link click spoilers#alien stage spoilers
