Linked Universe Combat Guide (part 2)
This is Part 2 of my attempt to make my fight scene notes into a coherent and understandable guide. Lord only knows if I'm being successful on that.
Part 1 can be found here.
General Notes once again:
The additional weapons/equipment is anything outside of the literal sword and shield you get in-game that could be used as a weapon, but does not include bombs, bows + arrows, or boomerangs bc I'm not writing that every time.
7 out of 9 Links are left-handed and this will have an affect on combat if they're fighting against human enemies.
-> any ambidextrous fighters in the group is largely a headcanon but go nuts w/ it.
This is looking at lore-accurate fighting ability bc you can scale down to however you headcanon they fight. Any additional arguments are logical conclusions/presumptions I'm making off of their in-game skills and/or character history.
Once again, researched to the best of my ability but I'm not claiming this has everything in every game. Fact checking is welcomed!
Also here's an article discussing the pros and cons of chainmail vs plate armour, since this group is the more armoured lot of the Chain
Minor update 9 March 2025: added a link to a reblog explaining a note on Warriors' section in better depth.
Sky
The most important thing in Skyward Sword’s combat is that you are fast. You Are Speed. That is Sky’s greatest advantage.
Feint. Always, always feint; then, when the enemy goes to block the feint, quickly attack from the opposite direction.
Sword techniques*: -> Shield Bash: reflects projectiles and knocks enemies off balance. Requires perfect timing but leaves an opening to take advantage of. -> front-flip slash -> back-flip slash -> jump attack -> fatal blow -> Skyward Strike/Sword Beams *Certain techniques cost stamina.
Unlike Warriors and Wild, Sky is near the start of the timeline, meaning he doesn’t have the same type of modern military-esque knighthood structure that future versions of Hyrule have. Consequently, we don’t see anyone in Skyward Sword really use any weapons outside of short swords, leading me to believe Sky’s main proficiency is really in them alone.
Sky is highly adaptable in a fight. He learns very quickly when enemies will block and when they will go to attack, which means he can deal with them extremely quickly. Arguably this means that he is not exactly built for long-term fights, but he can get through them if he must. I’d almost call him as a Glass Cannon, but he’s sturdier than that, so he gets the Lightning Bruiser name tag instead.
Happily arguing that Sky would be very good at mounted archery, even if it's obviously different to horseback. I know Loftwings can be taught that corkscrew manoeuvre that acts as an attack, but given sword-based combat wouldn't be feasible when you're riding a giant bird so I'm dying on this hill.
Additional Equipment/Weapons: -> whip (pls use this, whip fighting is great. They can deal a lot of damage if you hit someone with the end.) -> clawshots -> slingshot/scatter-shot -> gust bellows -> guardian potion+ (invulnerability, baby!)
Time
Time is fun bc he’s about 20 years older than he was during his adventures, which means you can kinda go ham with what he does and doesn’t know.
To kick things off, Time gets the honour of being the first Link (on this list) to have canonical multiple sword proficiencies: longsword, and short sword + shield. I will very happily argue and die on the hill that Time 100% has some staff proficiency given how Deku sticks can be used in OOT. If you go with this, use European-style quarterstaff techniques instead of Chinese-style bō/gun staffs.
The Biggoron sword isn’t any specific type of longsword, given the sheer weirdness of its blade shape. I think most people seem to agree that it’s a great sword, which at the extreme basics is essentially a longer longsword. I use claymore combat videos to get a feel for writing the Biggoron sword, and have used this specific video a few times.
Given Time’s +20 years from his adventures, we all pretty much believe he's mastered the Hidden Skills he passes onto Twilight, both with a short sword and the Biggoron sword. These are still gonna be listed in Twilight’s segment however, given they feature in his game.
Time also has a magical aspect to his combat, both in terms of literal magic items and then his two combat-focused spells.
Potentially Combat-Focused Masks: -> Transformative Masks: Deku Mask, Zora Mask, Goron Mask, Fierce Deity Mask, Giant’s Mask -> Other Masks: Blast Mask, Bunny Hood, Stone Mask
Spells: -> Din’s Fire -> Nayru’s Love
Important note: as stupid as this reminder is going to sound, Time only has one eye. He has a decreased field of view and decreased depth perception. He probably has a way to compensate for this, but it is a disability that shouldn't be forgotten. My mother is visually impaired in one eye and it affects how she reads things, how she drives, how she uses footpaths etc etc. It's not ableist to remark on Time's partial lack of sight. If anything, how he compensates for it is something I've been meaning to explore - I just haven't been able to get my head to world build it coherently.
Additional Equipment/Weapons: -> powder keg (yes, Time carries TNT) -> hookshots -> longshot -> Deku nut -> Deku stick -> slingshot -> golden gauntlets -> megaton hammer -> Great Fairy Sword (still debating if it’s a two-handed weapon for Time now) -> Gilded Sword (? I think?? Again someone fact check me pls)
Twilight
The Tank™
Most adept at horseback combat. An FYI but the fact that Twi defaults to using a one-handed sword on horseback is extremely telling of this point. For the most part, light cavalry were equipped with polearms/lances and bows with a sabre on the side. I know it's partially an animation thing but Twi being confident enough to get close to an enemy on horseback to use a one-handed sword is huge sign of his skill and proficiency.
Hidden Skills: -> Ending blow -> Shield attack -> Back slice -> Helm Splitter -> Mortal Draw (my beloved <3) -> Jump Strike -> Great Spin
Extremely important to remember how stupidly strong Twilight is. Dude can yeet a charging Goron, only needing his iron boots to stay where he is. This can be showcased in multiple ways: fist-fighting, emphasis of the strength of his shield bash, etc etc. He's likely capable of hand-to-hand combat as well, given his strength and knowledge of sumo wrestling.
Most tanks are slow, but Twi is actually rather speedy, even as a hylian.
(Btw if Twi places a bomb on the ground in front of him and holds his shield up, he will take no damage when the bomb explodes. Fantastic way to kill stalfos and annoy Darknuts.)
Additional Weapons/Equipment: -> slingshot -> ball and chain -> clawshots -> dominion rod (if you're feeling experimental) -> spinner (?????? Somehow????) -> crossbow -> Twi’s weird magic armour (note: crossbows don't actually replace bows; they have their own pros and cons. See this YouTube short for some context)
As a wolf:
This is where Twilight becomes less of a Tank and more of a Glass Cannon. Wolves are very fast and, depending on how much Twili magic you headcanon Twilight has access to, he can get in and out of combat easily.
But most importantly, Twilight has very little defence as a wolf so he can't tank hits nearly as well as he can as a hylian (as the comic has already shown).
Main threat is obviously his jaw strength; Twilight is able to latch onto enemies, usually by biting down on their throats or shoulders. Pls be aware that ordinary wolves can bite through bone if they get the angle right.
Normal wolves don’t attack with their claws bc they’re not cats, but Twilight has human-level intelligence and can do whatever he wants within the confines of his body.
Twi also has a charge spin attack as a wolf. Do with this knowledge what you will.
Warriors
Proficient in multiple weapons and has adaptable fighting styles.
A few of his canonical fighting styles are listed at the end but depending on which era of knighthood you want to take inspiration from, he can also be proficient in lances and pole-arms, long-swords and sabres, and hand-to-hand combat (predominately Greco-Roman style wrestling but don’t let that stop you).
No specific sword techniques shown outside of the spin attack and jump slash.
Also proficient in combat on horseback but I’m not listing his Epona as a weapon lmao.
Has an innate passive (potentially magic?) ability to tag enemies with a ‘Light Mark’, which causes them to take increased damage from every attack for as long as his Triforce mark is glowing. This is triggered after a certain amount of enemies are killed and ends a few seconds after he stops dealing damage. Best used in his era but still viable in others.
Also, Wars’ lil inverse-grip upward slash finisher for one of his Master Sword combos? *chef’s kiss emoji* we love to see it -> (reverse grips are technically not great bc of the increased chance of literally breaking your wrist, among other things. However it looks cool as hell) -> Update: for more info on this bc I hadn't explained it well, I've covered it in more depth in this reblog here.
A lot of Wars’ fighting style is best copied from visual mediums, but given that search results generally like to give you Age of Calamity videos, this video is a good one to focus on.
Full disclaimer I tried to play Hyrule Warriors in December. I got through 5 hours and the game gave me such wicked eye strain I couldn't look at a screen for 2 days straight so I had to stop. But what I did pick up is Wars is not someone to fold quickly under pressure. You do a lot of that game with very few PCs on the map while a LOT of emergencies come at you full-speed. Wars is fantastic at balancing out who needs help literally right this second and who he unfortunately has to delay assisting. These are not easy decisions to make, but they are extremely critical ones that must be made in war or any combat zone.
Additional Weapons/Equipment: -> fire rod -> power gauntlets -> spinner (again, potentially??? Somehow. I will put this Beyblade into a fight scene one day) -> hookshots -> hammer
Wild
The Ultimate Dodge Tank
BOTW’s entire combat system is literally "Do Not, Under Any Circumstances, Get Hit", to the point where the game actively rewards you for dodging and parrying. This means that Wild’s entire fighting style is based around memorising everyone else’s fighting styles.
Proficient in multiple weapons and weapon-types (i.e. short swords, slashing swords, longswords and spears) and good at using bows in close combat, though he does not get to utilise his champion ability while dodging if he’s holding a bow.
Pls be aware I do actually mean it when I say ‘multiple weapon types’. You DO NOT use a scimitar the same way you use a broadsword, nor a battle axe the same way you do with a claymore. Me @ BOTW’s animations: CHANGE THE FIGHTING STYLES UP YOU COWARDS.
No specialised sword techniques outside of the basic spin attack and downwards slash.
Has arguably the strongest Champion Ability next to Urbosa’s Fury, as it’s automatically triggered if the conditions are met and is very hard to block or defend against. And on that topic, let’s begin.
Flurry Rush: -> damage output adjusted for weapon type used (short swords attack x7 times, long swords attack x4 and spears attack x7-10) -> bypasses enemy shields and invincibility frames -> Wild can be knocked out of this (either by being damaged by an enemy or by mistiming the start of his flurry rush – i.e. landing on a sloped surface will cancel a flurry rush before it begins.) -> flurry rushes still affect weapon durability
Bullet Time: -> requires falling from height obviously. -> Your Stamina! It Goes Down! -> also this is the only thing that really changed in TOTK’s combat: stamina is used when firing arrows, not just by entering bullet time itself.
Perfect Guard: -> you can perfect parry literally almost anything, including a bokoblin being thrown at you by a moblin, wolves, and apparently bees. -> negates explosive damage (i.e. remote bombs, bomb arrows, that one Lynel attack) if you manage to consistently get the timing right. I have not, so take this with a grain of salt <3 -> generally only used for Guardians (as far as I've seen from fellow players) and kinda falls to the wayside in TOTK bc there’s no real incentive to use it. -> does not give Wild any actual chance to utilise his champion ability even tho I like writing that it does bc then it would be a useful thing to learn in totk, Nintendo! Shocker!
Additional Weapons/Equipment: -> literally whatever he can get his goddamn hands on -> “You’ve heard of set bonuses, right?” -> Sheikah Slate
#linked universe#writing tools#lu sky#lu time#lu twilight#lu warriors#lu wild#also there are a lot of differences between longswords and greatswords i just dont have the energy to make Time's section even longer#can we talk real quick about how expensive plate armour is??? Time you own a ranch??? HOW DID YOU AFFORD THIS????#ngl to y'all I straight up don't use the Sheikah Slate in combat so I almost completely forgot to include it here lmao#Telma taught Twi how to bare-knuckle box you can pry this headcanon from my cold dead hands#I will work out how to use the spinner in combat even if it kills me#I live in perpetual fear of the your stamina! it goes down! quote being identified lmao#linked universe meta#Lu meta#combat meta

How other villains worked better as sympathetic where the league failed
I know I said I was going to make a post regarding my final oc villain, anonymous, but due to recents events, i just dont have the energy to do so. To clear my mind, I've decided to take a break from oc posts and talk about how certain character archetypes from this series are done betger by other shows, movies and books, starting with the league of villains.
For this comparision, I'll be comparing the LOV with a group of villains that actually inspired my oc (ghoulian my beloved) the sadler trio from the goosebumps book "ghost beach"

Is probably what you're thinking. The sadler trio are the ghosts of a trio of immigrant siblings from england who traveled to new england in hopes of a better life. Unfortunately, they ended up dying in cold and have roamed the beach as ghosts for 300 years. They long for companions in death and plan to take their distant cousins jerry and terri to the grave.

Louisa is the girl with the pigtails and velvet dress, sam is the boy with the white hair and black vest, and nat is the boy with the bowl cut and the striped t shirt, remember that now.
The first thing I want to talk about is the family dynamics
The leagues bonds are, for a lack of a better word, shaky. While we do see certain memebers like twice and toga showing genuinely nice moments of friendship, and magne being a well liked and respected member, earning her the title of "big sis mags", other members like shigaraki and dabi contradict the found family dynamic the story and fandom are selling. Shigaraki barely shows any care for his fellow members, when magne died, he was more concerned about staying on top while toga and twice actually wanted to avenge their fallen ally. Shigaraki also doesnt have any reaction to twices death either. Dabi is honestly worse as he refuses to pitch in at times, called spinner a derogetory slur, and then pulled a bruno marcotulli and said he shouldnt get upset about it. Spinners motives also dont align with shigarakis in the slightest, to the point where they straight up had to retcon his motives not once, but twice, just to make shigaraki seem like a good leader. Truth is their motives and personalities clash too hard for their dynamic not to feel forced.
The sadlers on the other hand actually do show genuine care and concern for each other, most notably when nat clings to louisa as a source of comfort when he gets scared and sam being the mediator and voice of reason, showing how they do care for eachother and work cohesively as a group, while the league is more dysfunctional than a 50's sitcom family.

Next is motives, the leagues motives at the end of the day, are to cause destruction and misery to whoever they please with no consequences, I really dont know how else to put it. Shigaraki wants to destroy everything, dabi wants to hurt his father and is willing to drag innocent people into the mix, toga gets off to killing, and the other three are just along for the ride with no qualms about their peers actions. This really doesnt help making them sympathetic when the story tries to shove a bunch of sad backstories in our face and say "please feel bad for them!"
Comparitively, the sadlers motives are far more understandable. At the end of the day, all they want is companionship. Its far more easy to get behind "we were robbed lf a decent life and have lived in solidarity on this beach for centuries with a guy whos been planning our downfall, we desperately want you to stay with us" as opposed to " we are societal outcasts who just want to lash out and makes things worse for everyone else without even trying to combat the societal issues that caused things in the first place."
On top of that, the sadlers actions, which include trying to kill harrison sadler( the ghost hunter) attempting to kill jerry and terri, and eating a dog (dogs can sense ghosts and would give them away.), while morally reprehensible , come from a place of desperation as opposed to malice. The sadler trio never take enjoyment out of their actions. Heck, when its revealed they're ghosts there practically on their hands and knees begging the twins to stay with them.

Thisis unlike the league, who take full pleasure in hurting others to achieve their goals *cough* toga *cough* shigaraki * cough* dabi * cough*.
Lastly is their fates, the sadlers are trpaped in magic cave the essentially sends ghosts to the afterlife and puts them to rest. Makes sense since their motives were from them being stuck in a proverbial limbo.
The leaghes fate is hori hyping up them being saved... and then all die or just get arrested, making their whole arcs feel like a waste of time.
Phew, now thats cleared up my min, I may get to doing anonymous' character sheet sometime soon, let me know what you guys think, and have a good evening!
#mha critical#hori is a bad writer#bnha critical#horikoshi critical#anti lov#goosebumps#ghost beach#I cant stress enoigh how adorable louisa being a caring older sister to nat is

"I'm Sorry"
Written for DabiHawks week 2023 day 6 Prompt: Canon Divergence (takes place During the fight between Hawks and Twice) Fandom: MHA/ BNHA Characters: Hawks, Dabi, Twice, Toga Words: 787 Summary: Hawks doesn't want to listen to orders, but he has no chance. In a last-ditch effort to avoid what he must do he begs Twice to turn around. Dabi isn't dealing with this bullshit.
“Hawks stop! You don’t have to do this!” Twice screamed as the number two hero held a feather as sharp as a sword over him. “Do it! You know you want to! Kill me” Twice said.
Hawks’s hand was wavering, tears forming in his eyes as he looked into the villain’s eyes. “Please. Just run. Don’t make me hurt you. I DON’T WANT TO HURT YOU” Hawks yelled, begging in his eyes for Twice to do anything, anything at all that will make sure Hawks won’t have to hurt him.
“It’s okay. I’ll be okay,” Twice smiled at him, grabbing the feather in a tight grip, making the blood drip down his hand as he bought the feather closer to his heart. “Just kill me and get it over with you good for nothing hero.”
With tears streaming down his face Hawks straightened the feather to stab it through Twice. He would have gone through with it too if Dabi didn’t storm it, burning the feather to a crisp, and making the hero wince at the pain.
“What the actual fuck are the two of you doing?” Dabi asked, glaring at the two.
“I’m sorry! I’m sorry! I’m sorry. I don’t want to! I don’t want to hurt any of you!” Hawks cried, falling to his knees as the two villains looked at him and then at each other.
“Twice grab Toga and get out of here. I got the bird,” Dabi said, a certain sadness and understanding in his voice.
Twice quickly got up and ran away, Dabi looking down picked up the broken number two hero and started to walk away, getting the two fully out of combat and to safety. Within minutes of picking him up the Hero was passed out, no longer awake.
“Is he going to be okay?” Toga asked, now that the battle was over and they were all back at the hideout.
“He’s been through a lot,” Dabi informed her, changing the bandages of the hero.
“He’s a traitor! Why are we keeping him around?” Spinner glared down at him.
“He deserves a second chance. Plus I want to talk to him. If I don’t like what he has to say I’ll just burn him,” Dabi shrugged, as if he really didn’t have any connections to the bird.
“Rumi?” Hawks’ tired voice spoke softly, eyes opening up.
“Not Rumi birdie,” Dabi spoke softly, pushing the bird back down on the couch.
“Dabi? No! Why am I here? Why didn’t you kill me? Kill me! Please I failed my mission please just kill me,” Hawks sat up, begging into Dabi’s arms.
“No one is going to kill you pretty bird,” Dabi tried to calm him down, the others looking at the two confused.
“Why? I’m a traitor to the league. I’m a traitor to the heroes. I almost killed Twice for fucks sake and you’re still here?” Hawks continued to cry.
“You begged Twice to run. No one is going to hurt you and Twice is fine. I’m fine. No one is injured too badly. We know why you did what you did and it’s okay. We knew you were a double agent since day one pretty bird,” Dabi spoke softly, letting Hawks cry.
“Then why keep me around?”
“You’re fun,” Dabi shrugged.
“That can’t be it. There’s plenty of fun around the league. Tgoa is fun, Twice is fun, Spinner is even fun. Why am I still here?” Hawks glared at the man.
“You’re like us Hawks. You’ve been broken by this world and thrown around just for the sake of a hero society. We don’t blame you for any of it. We know what your mission entailed since the beginning. Twice was to never be left alone with you, but that was a mistake on our part. Keigo you are one of us,” Dabi ordered as Hawks’s eyes went wide.
“How do you know that name?” he asked.
“It’s your’s,” Dabi shrugged looking away as he got a cigarette out, anything to look like he didn’t care.
“It’s not my name. Not anymore. I haven’t been Keigo for over ten years. The commission killed him along with the rest of the Takami family,” Hawks looked down at his hands in his lap.
“We would like it- I would like it very much if Keigo was to come back,” Dabi said softly, grabbing one of Hawk- Keigo’s hands.
“I guess I could give it a try,” Keigo smiled at the villain and this time the League knew that Hawks was on their side. They know that he could never be a full villain, his heart was to good for this world, but they would help and protect him when needed.

Late respnonse, but-
Tomura Shigaraki: Honorable leader of the League, someone to look up to. He's a bit weird, especially with their first meeting, but, he wants to dismantle hero society too, and is trusted with the position of Leader, so, he's definitely trustworthy, right?
Dabi: Scary looking, and a bit difficult to talk to. But, he seems serious about being a follower of Stain. Akugaki can't call himself a complete follower, their beliefs do differ a bit, but he still respects him, and said respect flows down to his followers.
Kurogiri: Probably the easiest to talk to with his subdued and polite personality. He's also very useful as a warp gate, such a cool quirk! He's another member he looks up to and wishes to emulate, to the point he'd try copying how he speaks at least once. (He doesn't do well at all, so he drops it quick)
Moonfish and Muscular: Two sickos who just wanted to use this cause to be violent. Akugaki absolutely despises senseless violence, so he's glad they got captured.
Mustard: He was a young guy, kinda like him, so he was hoping they could get closer. Most people here are so much older than him, after all. Too bad he got beat...
Big Sis Magna: Magna is big and strong, and confident too! But she doesn't look scary or have an intimidating aura like the others. He really wonders how someone like her got pulled into a life of crime.
Spinner: He looks like a wannabe Stain, but, that's not a bad thing. Akugaki knows how it feels to wanna follow someone and their dreams to the absolute end, so he sympathizes. He's not intimidating at all, and got easily tricked by a girl calling him her type in combat. He needs to work on his villainy.
Twice: Really confusing, but nice! He doesn't get why he acts like... that, but, he actively tries talking to him, so he doesn't mind! Plus, no matter what he says, one of his sides is gonna agree, maybe even praise him, so, that does feel nice.
Mr.Compress: A real magician!? Oh, wait, right, it's just his quirk, aha. Still, he's always putting on a show, and Akugaki is always watching intently! Honestly, he probably becomes a fanboy, heh.
Toga Himiko: The scariest one of his team mates, honestly. She just talks about such dark stuff so casually, and treats all of this like just another day. She's constantly cheerful and smiling, though, so that's something that does make her nicer to be around.
... s-she's cute...
Akugaki is new to the whole Villain thing, he doesn't even have a single kill yet, he's known for his scary quirk and using it to steal from people after knocking them out or ambushing them with it. Tsu was going to be his first after Toga got her stuck to a wall and kept Ochaco busy. but he had to flee when others appeared. He looks up to most everyone in the League, and hopes he isn't dead weight.
He also hopes he doesn't become a creepy weirdo after his first kill, like certain members...
Interesting. It seems he gets along best with Twice, Mr.Compress, Magne, and Kurogiri and also has a crush on Toga. I wonder if he got jealous when Toga gained a crush on Izuku.

Addidentally Injuring Their S/o
Part Two Here
YT Video Here (thanks @vanillaicedlatte-yt)
Genre: a n g s t
Type: Drabble/ Headcannons
Summary: in the heat of an arguement, after a battle, etc., they activate their quirk and Y/n somewhat permanently.
Warnings: gore, blood, fighting/ cursing, crying, burns, toxic relationships, 290 spoilers, endeavor
Other: This was meant to come out yesterday, but shitty mental health got in the way, so yeet. Also, I’m sorry these get worse and worse as they progress, that’s usually how things go for me. This was also inspired by a Tik Tok that I can’t find where Shigaraki accidentally dusts y/n who’s trying to comfort him. It was a Cosplay, if anyone can find it please let me know so I can link it and credit the creator.
Characters: Shigaraki, Dabi, Bakugou, Todoroki
Angst Taglist: @smolchildfangirl @combat-wombatus @mandalorian-baby-bird @waffleareniceandfluffy (let me know if you want to be added to or removed from the taglist)
Tomura Shigaraki
It had started as a great day, a perfect day even. Everyone was listening to him, the league was getting news coverage, people were afraid.
Everything was too perfect.
Something was going to go wrong, he was sure of it.
He hated the way everyone was laughing and joking together, Toga helping Magne do her nails, Spinner playing video games with Twice backstage, and you were chatting with Dabi and Compress about the league’s next moves.
Kuroguri was off doing something or other, and he’d mentioned another ‘follower of All For One.’
But something felt off.
And of course you would notice him.
You were hiding at an abandoned theatre, and he was sitting on the edge of the stage, staring out at the empty audience.
You were with Dabi and Compress in the wings, and glanced away from them towards your boyfriend.
He seemed stressed, scratching at his neck vigorously. You sighed, standing up and heading over to him, sitting beside him.
You placed your hand on top of his spare hand, offering him a soft smile.’
“Hey, baby~” you cooed. “How’s my boyfriend doing?”
He grumbled, yanking his hand away from you. Your theory was correct, he was stressed about something.
He didn’t want to talk to anyone, especially not you. You always tried to comfort him and convince him everything was ‘okay’ even when it wasn’t.
“Go away.” He growled. “I’m trying to think.”
“Thinking about what?” You asked, scooching closer to him.
“None of your fucking business!” He snapped at you, and you flinched away from him.
“Tomura, I was just trying to help-“ you frowned at him. He could be immature and bratty at times he’s, but he usually made sure not to get that way with you.
“I don’t give a shit! I don’t need your damn help!” He stood up, marching over to the wings to head backstage. You followed suit.
Compress and Dabi quickly rushed off the stage when they saw Shigaraki heading towards them. Dabi stopped for a moment next to you, looking at you.
“Good luck with him.” He said, jerking his head towards Shigaraki. You shrugged at him.
Shigaraki overheard Dabi’s notion, anger and distress intensifying. Good luck? Good luck?! What the hell was wrong with him?
Dabi and Compres joined Toga and Magne in the red velvet chairs, Compress requesting that he gets his nails done in orange and black when she finished with Magne’s.
Shigaraki pushed aside the large heavy curtains blocking his way backstage, finding Spinner and Twice huddled near a small TV, an old PvP game loading onscreen
They both looked over their shoulders, staring up at their boss. You quickly darted backstage, crouching next to the ‘gamer boiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiis’ as they had nicknamed themselves.
“I’m so sorry,” you whispered to them. “He’s in a bit of a mood. I’ll take care of it, okay?”
Did he hear you correctly?
A mood?
You’ll ‘take care of it?’
Of it?
What.
The.
Fuck.
“Say that again, to my fuckung face!” Shigaraki screamed at you. “Tell me I’m just ‘iN a MoOd’ again!!”
You turned to him, eyes wide and scared.
“I’m sorry, Tomura, I didn’t mean it like that- I just didn’t want our friends to worry!”
“They aren’t our fucking friends! They just work for us- they work for me!” He corrected himself.
You stood up, flicking your wrist to motion for Twice and Spinner to leave. They quickly turned off their game and rushed away.
“You might not consider them our friends, but they’re certainly my friends. And I won’t let you scare my friends.” You stood your ground, taking a step towards him.
He scoffed, turning around and marching back onstage. You sighed, following after him, again.
“Please, Tomura talk to me. I’m your partner I want to help you!” You exclaimed. “You’re worrying me, please!”
“Well I don’t want to fucking talk!” He shouted, “and I don’t have to!”
“Please, Tenko!”
“THAT’S NOT MY NAME!”
Red.
He saw red.
His hand flew away from him before he could stop himself, a target missile. It’s destination? Your face.
You lifted your hands instinctively, and he grabbed your wrist, fingers curling around your skin.
In that moment, all he felt was relief. Thank fucking god you’d lifted your arms. It was the one thing that has saved you from him.
You screamed, pain shooting up through you from your arm. Your skin peeled, falling away in tiny fragments of dust.
The dust fell around his fingers, your hand and wrist were completely gone now.
You felt someone pull you backwards, and you saw a glint of silver as Toga quickly severed your arm, blood spilling onto the floor of the stage where the pile of dust that used to be your arm lay.
You fell to your knees, screaming, reaching up and clutching at your elbow- the point of separation- desperately, trying to will your arm back into existence.
“TOMURA!” You shrieked, tears falling down your cheeks. “TOMURA! FIX IT!!”
It was hopeless, you knew there was no way for him to un-dust you. You fell forward, forehead pressed against the floor.
Shigaraki took a step back, glancing at his hand. There were a few speckles of dust resting on his palm. His breath quickened, eyes widening as he cupped his other hand over his mouth.
He stared down at you, Blood staining your shirt as you screamed and cried.
It must have hurt.
He remembered the promise he’d made after you’d started dating, when he’d protected you from some assholes trying to mug you.
“I promise you, I’m going to protect you. Nothing, no one, will lay a hand on you ever again.”
It was a promised meant against anyone who posed a threat to you.
He never meant to become a threat himself.
Touya Todoroki/ Dabi
Some days were always going to be better than others, that’s simply how it works when you’re recovering from trauma.
Today was one of the bad days.
He’d woken up with a thick, heavy, dark feeling in his chest.
He wasn’t even comforted by the warmth your body produced next to him.
Most days he’d roll over and wrap his arm around your body, pulling you close to his body to cuddle you.
This morning however, Dabi rolled away from you and climbed out of bed. You looked over your shoulder at him, confused and slightly hurt. Did you do something to make him upset last night?
You followed after your angsty boyfriend, walking out of the bedroom and down the hall into the kitchen.
He crashed at your apartment a lot, being a villain it was hard to get his own home. You didn’t know where he stayed when he wasn’t at your place.
He grabbed a box of cereal out of the cupboards, pouring himself a bowl. You pulled the milk out of the fridge, handing it to him with a smile.
He scrunched up his nose at your kindness, snatching the carton from your hand and angrily pulling the cap off.
You sighed, nervously pouring yourself a bowl as Dabi started to eat. He didn’t even bother to sit at the table.
“Hey, babe? You okay? You seem kind of... off today.”
Your boyfriend glanced down at you, cerulean eyes seemingly staring right through you.
“M’fine.” He grunted. Your frown tightened.
“I’m sorry, but I can’t believe that.” You shook your head at him.
Dabi glared down at you in annoyance. His scowl deepening. You took a step back, concerned and scared.
“Dabi, please talk to me.” You pleaded with him.
“Uzéndayo.” He grumbled angrily. “Fuck off.”
“Please, you’ll hurt my feelings.” You scoffed sarcastically. “You can talk to me, y’know.”
“Don’t fuckin need to. Leave me alone.”
“Dabi, this is my place. I’m not leaving you alone.”
“Then I’ll leave!” He snapped, brushing past you and leaving his cereal on the counter to sog.
He snatched his jacket off the back of the couch, shrugging it onto his shoulders.
“Seriously, Dabi! What the hell’s going on! Did I do something wrong?”
It pissed him off further to hear you blame yourself. You always thought it was your fault, but it never was.
“Oh shut the fuck up for once! Quit thinking it’s all about you! It’s not always about you!”
“Dabi just fucking talk to me! I’m not letting you leave until you tell me what’s wrong!”
You stepped in front of the door, flinging your arms open to block ilhis exit. He looked you in the eyes, seething.
“Nothing happened!” He shouted “Sometimes I’m just angry for no reason! Get out of my way and I’ll take my anger out on some rando and not on you. Then I’ll come back and we can pretend this never happened.”
“Dabi I won’t let you just kill some innocent person because you’re upset! Just sit with me and we can talk it out and-“
“That’s always your solution! Quit being a wimpy pacifist and move!”
“I’m not a pacifist, I just don’t think you should kill without reason!”
“Well I have a fucking reason!”
“And what’s that?”
“I want to!”
“That’s not a reason!”
“Just get out of my fucking way or I’ll make you!”
“Dabi, just talk to me!”
It was the last thing you said before he grabbed your arm and pulled your body forward to meet his. Your chest pressed against his, his face right in front of yours.
It’d be hot if you weren’t so scared.
“Listen here you little shit,” he growled, low and angry “I’m stronger than you in every fucking way.”
“Dabi?”
“I could kill you in an instant if I so desired.”
“Dabi-“
“Incinerate your filthy annoying ass any day I want, so be fucking grateful for once and watch your damn mouth!”
“Dabi!”
“SHUT THE FUCK UP AND LISTEN! I am superior to you in every way, you should be grateful I even share oxygen with you!”
“DABI YOU’RE HURTING ME!”
“I DON’T CARE IF IT HURTS, LISTEN TO ME YOU DIRTY MOTHERFUCKER!” He screamed in your face, eyes wild with unchecked rage.
Tears flowed down your face as you sobbed, indescribable pain was shooting up through your arms.
Dabi’s eyes finally drifted downwards, and he froze, mouth falling slack.
Smoke was billowing off his hands, and his knuckles were white with how hard he was gripping you.
He snapped his hands away from you, curling them into his body as his eyes widened. He took a few steps back.
There were black scorch marks on your body in the shape of his hands. They looked real bad.
“Get out.” You whispered, so soft he couldn’t hear.
“W-what?”
“GET OUT!” You screamed, pointing at the door despite the intense pain in your arms. “GET OUT OR I’M CALLING THE POLICE!”
“B-baby I’m sorry!” He shouted “I didn’t mean to, I promise!”
“I DON’T GIVE A SHIT! GET THE FUCK OUT OF MY HOME BEFORE I TURN YOU IN!”
Dabi stumbled past you, quickly rushing out of your apartment and shutting the door behind him.
His back was pressed against the wood as he slid down, covering his face as he listened to your sobs on the other side, hearing your footsteps fade into the bathroom, probably to run cold water on your skin.
For a moment, all the could think about was the cereal on the counter, getting soggy.
“Fuck.” He muttered, eyes burning as they tried to produce tears without his tear ducts.
“I’m so fucking sorry.”
Shoto Todoroki
Shit wrong emo scar boy with daddy issues, fire powers, and an evil older sibling with blue fire
There we go
It was a shitty day.
Well, most days were shitty days, but today was shittier than usual.
A home visit, Endeavor trying to act like he was ‘upset about everything that happened,’ and pretending he was the victim in the situation.
It would be enough to set anyone on edge, especially Shouto.
So it wasn’t much of a surprise when he returned to the dorms with a deep frown on his face.
Even when Midoriya, Iida, and Uraraka tried to talk to him, he still seemed angry the whole time. There was really only one thing that should be able to cheer him up. Let’s hope you do your job well.
“Knock knock~ Shouto it’s me!” you stood on the outside of Shouto’s dorm. You knew Shouto must be stressed, so you’d gotten him some brownies from the sweets cupboard, Sato’s locks were easy to pick.
“I don’t want to fucking talk.” his response was blunt, clearly annoyed that you’d bothered his brooding. “Go away.”
You sighed, he could act like such a child sometimes!
“Shouto, I just want to cheer you up! Let me in, babe.” a moment later, he swung the door open, am annoyed glare on his face. You smiled sweetly at him, handing him the plate of brownies. His hands remained in his pockets, glancing down at the brownies then back up at you.
“Um... can I come in?” you asked quietly. He shrugged, stepping aside to let you in. You stepped past him, sitting on the edge of the platform bed, setting the brownies on the nightstand.
Shouto closed the door behind him, turning to face you.
“Do... do you want to talk about it?” Shouto huffed, shaking his head and looking away from you.
“Do I look like I want to talk?” he snapped. You flinched, his tone was harsh.
“Shouto I just want to help, you don’t need to be rude.”
“I don’t give a shit if I’m being ‘rude.’“ He growled, arms crossed.
His eyes stared coldly at you. Yeah, he was definetly upset.
“That’s okay, we can chat about something else. Oh, Sato probably needs to change the lock on the sweets cupboard, I kinda broke it getting you these brownies!” you looked up at him, smile faltering as he looked down his nose at you. “Are... are you mad at me?”
“Wow, you just noticed that.” he rolled his eyes. “I told you to go away but you didn’t.”
“I-I’m sorry, I was just really worried about you. You’re my boyfriend and I love you, I don’t like seeing you upset.”
“Then maybe you should try fucking listening to me for once. If I don’t want to talk, then you can’t make me talk.” You nodded, apologizing again.
“Oh my god shut the fuck up!” he shouted. “You’re always talking, always apologizing, you’re getting on my fucking nerves!”
“Okay!” you stood up quickly, lifting your hands defensively. “I’ll just leave!”
You brushed past him on your way to the door, hesitating on the handle. You glanced over your shoulder at him.
“Would you fucking stop with the pity?” you looked at the ground, not saying anything.
You heard the slap before you felt it.
The sting shot through your face, and you could hear Shouto shouting at you, but it was muffled. You didn’t know what he was saying.
You lifted your hand to your cheek, hissing in pain. He didn’t just slap you,
He used his fire.
You choked on your words, turning to look at your boyfriend with tear-filled eyes.
Shouto was looking at you with a look of sheer horror on his face.
“I’m sorry...” you whimpered. “I’m going-” you slipped out the door, ignoring Shouto’s shout for you to turn back and talk to him
That it was an accident.
That he didn’t mean it.
That didn’t matter.
Katsuki Bakugou/ Dynamight
Fuck Icy-Hot.
Fuck. Him.
He said he’d gotten stronger since the Summer Camp, but he hadn’t at all.
He was still loosing to Todoroki, and no matter how hard he was working, he still kept loosing to him.
His hand was buried in his hair, tugging harshly every so often as he listened to you ramble about something that happened during your work study.
Even you were getting ahead of him, his own partner was getting stronger than him. He’d promised he’d protect you, but that would be useless if you kept improving faster than him.
“Then afterwords, FatGum took me, Kirishima, and Amajiki to this resturaunt, and the owner turned out to be a huge fan of FatGum, she gave us free desert! Oh my gosh the cake was so good!” you exclaimed, laughing a little.
Bakugou grumbled under his breath a little, keeping his eyes away from your estatic face.
“Great.” you glanced back to your boyfriend from where you sat at your desk, eyebrows furroring. Usually, Katsuki would give you one of those proud smirks all like ‘that’s my partner,’ but today he seemed upset.
“You alright, Katsuki? Was your provisional licence class stressful today?” you asked sympathetically, moving your hand towards him to comfort him.
He yanked his hand away from you, shooting you a pissed off look.
“Fuck no.” he growled. “Even if it was, I can handle it. I don’t need your damn help.” you rested your hand on your lap.
“I know, Katsuki. My boyfriend’s so strong!” you smiled brightly at him. Usually complimenting him would make him feel better, but today it seemed to only piss him off more.
“Shut up.” he hunched over, curling into himself more. He pulled one leg up to his chest, holding it under his knee.
“Uh.. are you sure you’re okay?” you asked, cocking your head to the side gently.
“I’m fucking fine!” He snapped, keeping his eyes anywhere but on you. “I don’t need your pity!”
“Pity? Katsuki I’m not pitying you, I’m worried for you. You’re my boyfriend and I want you to be happy so-”
“Didn’t I say to shut up?” he stood up, shoving his hands into his pockets. “Don’t give me your worry, fight me instead!”
“Why the hell would I fight you, Katsuki? I already know you’re stronger than me!”
“Fucking how? You got that new work study you’re constantntly talking about! How haven’t you gotten stronger than me?”
“Is that what this is about? I’ve only been at my work study for a few days, how in the world could I have leaped leagues in that amount of time to reach your level?”
“Then why even join that stupid work study if you’re not getting stronger?”
“I am getting stronger, just not fast enough to be at your level that quickly!” you explained. “Sorry?”
“Ugh just shut the fuck up!” he shouted, storming out of your dorm and down the hall to the common room. There were a only a few people in there,
Yao-Momo and Jirou in the kitchen, Kirishima and Kaminari on the couches, and Sero was leaning over the back of the couch. They all looked up when Bakugou stormed in with you on his tail.
“Katsuki, you’re confusing me! What’s going on? How can I help? Is it something I did?”
“Just leave me alone, okay? Go away!” he shouted over his shoulder. Kaminari, Kirishima, Sero, Jirou, and Yaoyorazu all snapped their heads towards you and Bakugou.
“Katsuki, please! You’re scaring me!” you glanced over at your friends, Jirou and Yao-Momo glancing between each other and muttering.
“Yo, Kachan, the hell’s going on between you and Y/n?” Kaminari asked, standing up. Sero hissed at him to sit down if he wanted to keep his head.
“I’m sorry, Kaminari, Bakugou’s upset and I don’t know why-”
“Don’t know why? Quit it with the lies! I hate liars!”
“I-I’m not lying! I really don’t know!” you reached forward, latching your hand onto his wrist. “Please just talk to me!”
“BULLSHIT!” he snapped his hand away from yours. “You’re a fucking liar!”
“Bakubro, calm down!” Kirishima stood up, briskly walking over to the two of you.
“STAY OUT OF THIS!” Bakugou slammed his palm against Kirishima’s face, setting off a small explosion.
“KIRISHIMA!” You ran to his side as the smoke cleared, finding his face hardened.
“I’m okay, I’m okay!” he assured you. He offered you a small smile, suddenly, he yelped and ducked, avoiding another hit from Bakugou.
“LET GO OF THEM!” he shouted, and his hand sparked twice before setting off again. This time right next to your face.
You hit the ground first, then felt stinging pain across your face and shoulder.
You didn’t even hear your own screaming because of the fact that he blew up your ears.
You didn’t register Kirishima picking you up, or Bakugou staring after you in fear, or the others in the room scolding Bakugou or worrying about you.
All you knew in that moment was pain.
Pure, white hot, agonizing pain.

We're due to get like at least 5 more pages so there is some stuff we are missing, obviously.
But, thoughts on the summary and the leaked panels so far:
I stand by what I said after last chapter---this wasn't really positive development for Bakugo--he still isn't there yet. I mean.....show me where the positive development was. I don't see it. Team work is great and all, but when the team you're working with is not so great idealistically, by the story's standards, well, things don't work out for you.
This is definitely NOT Bakugo's "greatest moment" 🙄
Bakugo getting seriously injured is really rough, but no I don't think he's out of the battle after this, so....hopefully hysteria doesn't arise from this. I don't have the energy.
As I guessed based off of last week, Bakugo went for the kill, and now....things are worse. This battle is so much mirroring Endeavor vs. AFO, and the tables are turning in the villains' favor at both of these battlefields (it's supposed to), and now Bakugo is seriously injured. They both lost use of their right arm, even if Bakugo's will be fixed later---they both went for the kill and now they're going to have a very difficult time for the rest of the war it seems. Again, not to compare the two characters, but these fights are distinctly similar and paralleling each other. There is development and growth to be had for both of them, clearly.
The identity crisis is still happening (I mean, it's not gonna stop any time soon). It seems to go back and forth between Shigaraki and AFO, at certain times. If the summary is accurate though, it seems that Shigaraki is the one connecting Bakugo to Midoriya in this moment, as the lip scar that was previously very noticeably NOT there, is there when he is saying this.
The Big 3....tbh I'm not expecting much. I was wondering why Mirio wasn't brought to this battle field at first because he's perfect to combat decay, so it's cool that he's there. But tbh....I don't care lol. He always gets a super grand entrance and it never really matters later, I'm not expecting anything different here. Yes, they'll probably have a badass "Big 3" moment next chapter, but honestly, how much will that really hold up in the end lol.
Some rambles that aren't super serious:
Shigaraki....that one panel, Horikoshi stop it I can't take it. He's too pretty
Bakugo, you don't deserve what's happening to you, but the growth is coming and I'm sure you'll have no regrets later
Hori please don't dedicate an entire chapter to the Big 3, I am begging you, we don't need it
Aizawa...I hope your time is coming soon. I'm sure when we get back to Spinner we'll finally kick start your growth
I don't think Shigarako/ShigAFO is gonna kill Bakugo, as stated that he could be useful. So maybe, just maybe, Shig will take kidnap him again and leave Sky-High UA (idk how this would happen but god I can dream)
This looks like a fantastic chapter, and I'm so excited.

Hyrule Warriors
The game came out in 2014 for the Wii U, but we all know that.
I’ve written before about Hyrule Warriors, a thing I brought over from my old account, but I have more.
We know the gameplay is repetitive, not for everyone, and after a while makes my thumbs hurt.
But mowing down so many enemies, taking out GIANT bosses, especially since they’re bosses we know from the series…
So much dopamine(for me at least).
But I get where people are coming from, the combat could have more nuance to it.
I never had a chance to play the games before Breath of the Wild, I’d love to some day, and while I know it isn’t canon, Hyrule Warriors is canon to me!
There are so many things the game does right, I think.
It’s a love letter to the series, and it shows.
They only have five characters that were made for the game(Lana, Cia, Volga, Wizzro, and Linkle), and the rest are characters from the various games.
The original characters feel like characters you might find in the games, depending on the style of the game.
But that’s where we start to run into some problems.
I’ve seen it all over: the story is not that good.
I’ve also seen people say ‘Well, it’s a spin-off’, ‘Well, it’s a Warriors game’ ‘What do you expect?’
And I say, no. Spin-offs, Warriors games, they can have good stories.
A little more effort could have gone a long way.
Cia could have had more depth to her than she had. They could have dug deeper into the war element. Gave us little interactions in between levels. Maybe even interactions between characters not in the storyline(I’m not sure how this would work but I’d kill for some meta between Volga and Young Link since Volga is based on Volvagia. Maybe some manga references? Eh? Maybe?).
Flesh out the story more.
Maybe even do more things like Cia and Linkle’s Tale. Do Volga, do Sheik, do anyone. Give us more story. Flesh it out.
I want to know MORE.
What was Volga’s life like? What happened to make Wizzro? What the HELL was Zelda thinking, abandoning her soldiers who looked up to her and leave them and Impa to worry and think that was a good idea? Girl what were you thinking?
(You were gonna add Sheik to the roster anyway, how could you not, no need to shoehorn Sheik into the story mode just to have them there)
Adventure Mode is HUGE there are SO MANY levels. I saw a video where it took someone over A THOUSAND HOURS to 100%. Holy shit. Did adventure mode need to be so big? There are so many maps.
Also why does Link get so many alternate weapons and everyone else gets bupkis? Zelda and Lana each get three, Impa and Ganondorf get two, everyone else gets nothing.
Some characters I guess I get it; Wizzro I can’t see using anything else, or Zant.
But come on there are surely other things you can give other characters.
Give Volga a war axe! Give Ghirahim double swords! Something!
Also some of these alt weapons are, in my humble opinion, shit.
The dominion rod for Zelda makes no sense to me. The spear and summoning gate for Lana suck, and the spinner and great fairy for Link are just bad. Great fairy’s hit box is just too big, the spinner is hard to get good damage on.
Lana’s summoning gate makes no sense to me, I can’t figure it out even with guides.
I just… some of these weapons.
And why does Link need so many?? Who was asking for Link to be bottled by the great fairy? Or for Epona to become a weapon?
Also, other Warriors games have mounts, why not this one? The owl statues are a little too far apart to really work, and with so much ground to cover mounts would be so helpful. Maybe even have different styles depending on characters(Link, Zelda etc get horses, Ganondorf get his horse and not an Epona recolor, Ruto has someone carry her).
Let’s look at other stuff.
The fairy system. It’s cute enough. Is it ever explained in depth anywhere and I just missed it? I know for Young Link the fairy power thing is broken, but is it really useful anywhere else? You can get through story mode without it, was it just put in for adventure mode?
And skulltulas! Oh my god I hate skulltulas! I get they’re a reference to the series(Ocarina of Time having them and I think another game) but why are the conditions to get them so difficult? Why are their locations sometimes so obscure?
Let’s talk Bosses.
The Imprisoned. Oh LORD the Imprisoned.
I hate it, I hate it so much. I hate how when you knock it down it chases you. I hate the red lightning thing it does when it walks. I hate its big squishy toes. Whenever there’s a timed mission that it’s in it feels like it takes so long to kill it, like it knows you’re on a crunch.
Phantom Ganon
Can anyone tell me how to do the deadmans volley? I can’t pin down the prompt or when to hit it back. I hate when it splits into four, and for me, it seems like that’s its favorite move it’s all it does!
Ganon
He’s alright I guess. Final boss, lots of health, makes sense. What is the move where he barrels across the field and starts to glow, does anyone know what I’m supposed to use for that move?
Manhandla
The most irritating, aggravating thing I have ever seen.
The way it runs around while laughing, the FUCKING BULLET SEED NO MATTER HOW FAR AWAY YOU ARE.
I hate it.
Gohma
Eh, it’s fine. Not too hard, easy tells.
King Dodongo
Once again, it’s fine. Sometimes takes forever to open it’s dang mouth, and that’s annoying for timed missions but whatever it’s fine.
Argorok
Annoying, but not terrible. Can be trouble if it catches you in the flamethrower stream though.
Helmaroc King
Another that can be annoying but like Dodongo has easy tells and isn’t too hard.
I don’t really like the upgrades system, all the item grinding. It makes sense, but some of the items associated with character power ups kinda confuse me.
Volga needs Zelda’s Crown for one of his, why? Cause dragons like shiny things? There are a couple others but that one stands out to me.
RUPEES.
Is there a way to grind them good? Because you need SO MANY for character leveling. And it always seems like there are characters that need grinding.
Yes I know, that one corner in Master Quest Map, but there have to be other ways.
Characters. Let’s talk about the original characters, shall we?
Cia. Oh boy.
While I’m sure it was not meant with malicious intent, making her dark-skinned when evil is very poor taste. Same with over-sexualizing her. We see in her Guardian of Time that she’s pale, Lana’s skin tone in fact. Yeah, her top has cutouts showing the tops of her breasts and clavicle(and a very dumb looking hat but so is her other hat).
Her evil outfit shows so much skin, and I don’t think Nintendo would let this slide in a canon game(Great Fairy is about the most we get, but I’m not an expert on Zelda character models).
And what was her goal? Was it Link(as in the in game incarnation of Link), or was it the Hero’s Spirit in general? Add the triforce(for some reason. I think I need to replay Story Mode…).
She and Lana are two parts of a whole, yes? Lana is Good Part, Cia is Bad Part. Lana explains this, saying ‘I am the good that was pushed out of Cia’s heart’, give or take. So how, unless I’ve missed something, how is Cia good again at the end of the Wind Waker storyline?
And I know that Ganondorf was influencing her, but isn’t she a little too easily forgiven? She started a whole war! Countless people died(as is the nature of war)! She brainwashed two people(does Wizzro count as people?), maybe more! I know Ghirahim did, and he was working for her at the time.
How does she even SURVIVE? Didn’t she dissolve/disappear/evaporate at the end of the main story?
Lana
She’s Cia’s Good Part. She’s sweet, and supportive, and kind of a third wheel to the obvious Zelda x Link action. Because it’s obviously implied over the course of the story that they have some sort of growing feelings, and Lana sees it. I think they were going for love triangle, but it might have been cut down, either for time or for other reasons.
I would have liked to know more about her, aside from the Cia connection. Make her more of her own person, since a lot of it seems to rely on the connection between them. I would have loved to see her first days separated from Cia, finding out about her new sense of direction, what drew her to Faron.
There are so many directions they could have gone with her, and I wish we’d gotten more.
Her outfit also stands out, seemingly more appropriate for a magical girl anime than a Zelda game. With a little more work it could have fit better, but I think they really wanted her to stand out from Cia. The problem is, she stands apart TOO much. I’ve seen multiple people say they didn’t understand the big reveal, when Cia’s mask is knocked off. That they apparently have the same face, but that was too little.
Why’d they change Cia to be taller, why’d they give Lana bright blue hair? There are ways they could have made them similar but different. Maybe give Lana a closer hair color, make them the same skin tone, same eyes! There are ways to make them different, but still make the reveal more of a reveal instead of a what happened moment.
Volga
We know very little about Volga, and he’s supposed to be Cia’s General, her right hand man. Couldn’t we have gone a little more into him, both before and after brainwashing? For as strong as he’s supposed to be, for all the fear shown by the normal soldiers when he appears, shouldn’t we see more of him? More of him devastating the army or being otherwise well known as a fearsome enemy?
I’d have loved a Volga’s Tale, where we see his point of view leading up to Cia, maybe more of his breaking through the brainwashing as we see near the end of Cia’s Tale. More of his relationship to the Dinolfos and Lizalfos he leads.
There was so much they could have done to give us more, but like with Lana I think they had to cut stuff for time.
His design is peak, though I would love a helmetless skin. Or maybe an armor-less skin. Also some of the recolors are shit, like for real. I get they are referencing past characters but some are so ugly.
Wizzro
Wizzro, if I recall, is a cursed ring. Like the ring is the Real Wizzro, the form he takes is just the culmination of souls he absorbed. And it was Cia’s magic that gave him form. But he was hidden in Volga’s caves by the Gorons, who somehow got hold of the ring. And they kept their eye on it hard, like they KNEW when Cia was there and automatically assumed she was there for the ring.
But, maybe because he’s made of so many different souls, he’s a backstabber even when brainwashed(as much as a spirit can be brainwashed). Like he even tries to ditch her for Ganondorf in one mission(and I think Ganondorf tells him to fuck off).
And couldn’t they do more with his shapeshifting? Like I know he pretends to be Zelda and Lana at one point, but there’s so much potential there.
He’s also supposed to be many spirits in one right? Wouldn’t it be cool to see them, I don’t know, have different personalities? Like maybe speaking through the main body somehow? Or separating and being used for an attack, like Cia has the Dark Links?
Linkle
Linkle was designed as a female Link. I can see why they steered away from that idea, maybe too much too soon. But they could have connected them, like making them siblings or something. That could have been a whole story! Maybe have Linkle’s Tale intertwine with the main story somehow. Like, have Linkle’s Tale, then have her join the main party at some point.
But I guess that would have meant more stages, and maybe they didn’t have time for that. But they could have connected them somehow. Give a Link a family! The only one that had one is Link from Wind Waker, that I know of. I guess Twilight Princess Link had Rusl and his family as a sort of adoptive family, but it’s not a confirmed thing.
Wouldn’t it have been cool, having siblings Link and Linkle, fighting side-by-side?
Also, maybe a different name? Linkle sounds like a throwaway name, like they weren’t even trying.
Her weapons are fun, the crossbows at least.
Her sense of direction issues, and insistence that she’s the Hero are kind of annoying, to me at least. I’m sure others find it endearing though.
That’s about all I can think of for now, but if anyone has anything to add feel free! And please no discourse or arguing. This is just my feelings.

Let’s talk about a Bionicle AU for The Suicide Squad (2021), starring the Dark Hunters as our titular chumps! I know we already have the Federation of Fear as our canon answer to the Suicide Squad, but part of the Suicide Squad’s premise is using forgettable, C-list villains that nobody remembers nor is gonna miss, and if that doesn’t describe 90% of the Dark Hunters to a T then I don’t know what does. I don’t have everyone figured out, but to start with Team A, the expandables;
Spinner is Savant- Savant is set up as a main character only to die anticlimactically, so let’s do the same for Spinner, who’s basically a bootleg version of angsty Nidhiki! Seriously, they’re both treacherous Toa of Air who want revenge against their brethren and were mutated into insectoid creatures, losing their elemental and mask powers in the process. Spinner is literally Nidhiki and thus perfect sacrificial main character bait.
Guardian is Rick Flag- He usually acts on behalf of the Shadowed One himself, keeping Dark Hunters in like by threat of punishing traitors, similar to Rick Flag. However, Guardian’s origins and motives indicate that for all of his harshness, he DOES have a moral center, which I imagine would be similar to Flag drawing the line at kids being experimented upon and these crimes needing to be exposed.
Airwatcher is Weasel, because I wanted an animalistic Dark Hunter for this role, and Airwatcher is dumber than even Krekka. He also gives me ugly, squat vulture with molting feathers vibes, which fits with how Weasel is. That. He can fly but chooses to swim and the water getting into his feathers keeps him from flying out, hence the drowning. Conjurer asks if Airwatcher is a parrot, much to the disbelief of the others.
Speaking of, Conjurer is Blackguard! Both pompous, dumbass idiots and backstabbers, what with Conjurer hoping to overthrow TSO. Like Blackguard he’s proven himself to be obnoxious, hyping up his own abilities beyond what they actually are, and biting off more than he can chew with the Makuta of Stelt.
Lurker is Captain Boomerang- Boomer stands out as a previously-seen teammate who actually accomplished something, and one of the only competent ones. I chose Lurker given his success with capturing Varian, plus his morbid revelry in death and destruction seems to fit that playful personality of Captain Boomerang best, compared to Gatherer, Eliminator, or someone like Lariska whose death is off the table.
Mimic is Javelin, both skilled melee combatants but apparently only that, so naturally Mimic is screwed against a small army wielding ranged weapons, of which he is approaching from a distance. Also Javelin’s brief flirting with Harley makes me want to connect him to Mimic, who is evidently kind of a romantic in his motivations to find his friend- Though would this mean he’s lowkey cheating on his friend when he flirts with Harley’s equivalent? Maybe they’re just an open couple.
Ravager is Mongal as a powerful, reckless warrior who SHOULD be an utter powerhouse... But when we look at the reality it’s kind of disappointing. Mongal was a Superman foe in the comics yet gets killed by regular fire, and is less buff than her comic counterpart alas. Ravager is supposedly one of the strongest Dark Hunters and leveled a third of the Odina Fortress, yet in practice he’s just a Toa Metru with transplanted Nivawk legs.
Vanisher is TDK, there’s not much else to say other than that he uses his power of portals to place his arms across the beach to ineffectually slap some soldiers, and then gets hilariously killed. I chose Vanisher solely so I could play around with his portal abilities and expand them to sort of resemble TDK’s. Since Vanisher was confirmed to have not been working for the Makuta, perhaps the reason why his teammates die is because he’s just a really bad luck charm...
Vezon is Harley Quinn. Obvious choice and I know Vezon is kind of A-list amongst Bionicle villains, but then again so is Harley Quinn, as the insane one who doesn’t really have anything particularly special to their abilities besides sheer force of personality, as well as favoritism by the writer that means they always have plot armor, no matter what. Said plot armor also stems from their recognizability as fan-favorites and whatnot, so it fits!
Primal is Bloodsport, they’re both hired killers, but Primal has a noted sense of honor that fits Robert Dubois enough, and naturally puts him at odds with his rival near the end;
Eliminator is Peacemaker, as another operative of the boss sent to ensure missions go through- But like Peacemaker, Eliminator is even more ruthless and kills Dark Hunters for failure. This puts him at odds with Guardian who like Rick Flag still has some morals... And in the end, Eliminator survives and the objective is sort of achieved, just like Metru Nui.
Subterranean is Polka-Dot Man. I wanted to choose a suitably tragic Dark Hunter for this, and Subterranean being a Matoran who was shunned because of a science accident and had nobody else to turn to feels fitting. Likewise, Subterranean’s ability to disassemble things seems like it could be really OP, which fits with Polka-Dot Man as the hidden powerhouse of the team... Plus Subterranean backstory and disliking loud noises seems to match Abner Krill’s more meek and depressed personality. His death is extra-tragic because Subterranean likens himself to a Toa, as a transformed Matoran himself...
Phantom is Ratcatcher 2, another suitably tragic and sympathetic Dark Hunter, and another Matoran transformed by science and shunned for it. In Phantom’s case, he has an explicit morality that makes him difficult for the Shadowed One to use, which fits with Cleo being such a kind sweetheart.
Now King Shark is down to a couple Dark Hunters; Poison, Minion, and Savage. I briefly considered Prototype because he’s also dumb, but ultimately he’s not canonically animalistic (unlike the others, one whom is a literal Rahi) and too machine to be characterized as a monster that eats people. Between the trio I’ve settled with, all make sense for Nanaue’s friendless background- Poison’s species underwent genocide, Savage was rejected by his teammates, and Minion was only ever an escaped lab experiment and then a Dark Hunter. Poison is the only one described as dumb amongst the trio, but Savage has Minion have the physical powerhouse strength of King Shark, plus Minion being made by a Makuta could match Nanaue being the descendant of a demigod.
The Shadowed One is Amanda Waller. No discussion.
As for Waller’s team of aides, probably original characters that might include the Recorder, because we don’t really have anyone in the Dark Hunters that fits that role I feel, and not quite morally at least- We’ve definitely used up all of our moral Dark Hunters I believe.
Tyrant is Suarez as the evil dictator of an obscure country, he survived and now he wants revenge against the Dark Hunters and the world! Unlike Conjurer, his subjects are other members of their species and not measly Matoran, and he isn’t framed as an overconfident showboat who bites off more than he can chew... At least not all the time.
Silvio Luna is... Nektann? Can’t think of any other dictator in Bionicle who’d have anything to say about Vezon. He’s not important so he’ll probably just be an original character.
As for Starro, I’m thinking Morbuzakh, who probably survived through a lone seed, but then again this is an AU so strict adherence to canon isn’t necessary. Morbuzakh’s powers have expanded to spread seeds that grow into people and take over their minds.
Sol Soria might be an original character who’s also a member of TSO’s species as one of Tyrant’s rebelling subjects (the same goes for Milton), or an OoMN member such as Johmak or Helryx. Maybe Dalu?
And finally, the Thinker is... I’m not too sure to be honest. Spiriah? Mavrah? Maybe someone the Morbuzakh would’ve had a grudge against like Starro... But that doesn’t really match anyone who’s a villain save Ahkmou, who tbf would be satisfying to see die. His role might just be an unnamed rogue Nynrah Ghost, like the one who helped Vultraz and/or had a hand in Phantom’s mutation!

Interesting meta from cruelfeline and others inspired my idea for a role swap AU where the main swap is between Hordak and Adora! There are other character swaps in the AU too, or swap variations.
Hordak is the latest Prim-Al, a living weapon that a First Ones faction clones over and over again each time one perishes in battle. FO created Prim-Al in response to their magitech AI Light Hope going rogue and constructing her own army of androids she calls the She-Ra.
More under the cut, including Queen Adora, leader of the Etherian Alliance and stranded android still loyal to her creator, and her discovery of a baby Hordak (Content Warnings: ableism; child abuse; Catra is a villain and completes her transformation into a Shadow Weaver-like figure, and the implications of that):
But first, a little more summed up detail on Prim-Al’s deal, because there’s more to it:
-Hordak’s genetic template is a mysterious Subject A. The FO took preserved samples of Subject A to continually make clones of him for Prim-Al.
-FO also made a digital copy of Subject A’s mind, a magitech AI named Prime. As a digital clone of an organic mind, much of him acts like an organic mind. Though FO has added some heavy programming and other alterations, they’ve tried to leave much of the organic-based behavior intact for multiple reasons--as an ongoing experiment in digital clones of minds, as an attempt to deter another rogue AI by trying to make this AI more aligned with organics (in contrast, RS!Light Hope was generally not based on an individual’s organic mind, she is not a digital clone like RS!Prime).
(Magitech is what it sounds like--a typically powerful fusion of magic and technology.)
-AI Prime is contained in the RS!Sword of Protection, and is actually the key to its power.
-The clones are actually vessels that channel magitech AI Prime through the sword. When a clone holds the sword, they sync with AI Prime inside, and together they essentially fuse and transform into Prim-Al.
-Prim-Al occurs in two stages. The first stage has some boost in power, some physical changes in body and clothes. The last stage has a greater boost in power and more physical changes--aged up (to a certain point), more muscular, longer hair, clothes, etc.
-AI Prime will only grant power to the clones/can only sync with the clones because they share a blood connection to the organic mind he was based on. This reaction is largely rooted in AI Prime’s magitech nature.
-Despite the death of Subject A, FO was able to preserve his mind and DNA to continue weaponizing him via biological and digital cloning. (The reasons for the FO’s focus on Subject A are also classified, though one can infer that Subject A possessed a power FO wanted to preserve and control....)
-AI Prime/the Sword of Protection is passed down through multiple iterations of Prim-Al.
-One of AI Prime’s functions is to also serve as a living archive of information, and so AI Prime remembers every Prim-Al. He is supposed to have this information available for new clone vessels to access.
-The clones do get names, but as they mature FO generally uses them less and refers to them as Prim-Al more. FO generally mistreat Prim-Al/clone vessels/AI Prime, seeing them as just weapons to keep under control.
FO doesn’t create a clone army because they’re honestly paranoid about creating another powerful enemy; they think that just one Prim-Al under selective limitations will grant them better control and avoid another Light Hope debacle. There are other classified reasons for this too. Also a FO faction created Prim-Al; the entirety of FO are embroiled in a civil war among each other as well as the war with Light Hope and other enemies.
The FO also put limitations on AI Prime for similar reasons, and all the more so because he’s an AI--they don’t want AI Prime to be another rogue AI like Light Hope.
Feel like sharing some design/tone notes:
Besides playing around with fusing traits from both Hordak and Horde Prime, I was also influenced by Link and the Master Sword in Breath of the Wild, as well as the Drifter in Hyper Light Drifter.

(Above: Base Form!RS!Adora is partly a drawover of a show image.)
The She-Ra units are magitech androids with a base form and a more powerful form they can transform into. This transformation is rooted in their magitech nature.
Gonna try to keep these notes on the art as more of a summary for now, and may reveal more specific details about the role swap AU later in separate text posts or even just keep it to later fic--also, still brainstorming, so material in the sketches and the text may change later; and also just felt like this art needed more context/clarification/background info:

(Baby!RS!Hordak is supposed to resemble canon!Imp, thanks to fic from/talking with @revasnaslan. More info on that is below. Also yes, RS!Adora wrapped baby!RS!Hordak in her cape. :3)
FO preferred raising/training/indoctrinating the Prim-Al clone vessels from infancy, thinking this would give them greater control. They also thought it would make Prim-Al feel even more connected to organics and avoid sympathizing with any rogue AI like Light Hope.
RS!Adora finds the alien baby stranded on Etheria due to a wayward portal (like her situation), and she names him “Hordak” based on the little data she gets from the wrecked escape pod she finds him in. The data had only been text that read “Predecessor: Kadroh,” and she just reversed that name for the boy. RS!Adora names him as part of his paperwork, intending to have him sent to the infirmary with the other orphans, she can’t spend anymore time on him.
RS!Adora fought the Prim-Al before Hordak, but never knew his name was Kadroh. She doesn’t immediately see a resemblance between Hordak and Prim-Al because Hordak is a baby and she’s never really thought about Prim-Al being an organic infant before. Another significant thing is that like in @revasnaslan ‘s Where One Fell-verse fic, infants/children of Hordak’s species start completely blue, and then their faces turn white as they mature; also as @revasnaslan pointed out to me, there’s Imp, baby/child-like clone of Hordak without a white face. So RS!Adora slowly starts seeing the resemblance between Hordak and Prim-Al as Hordak’s growing up and his face starts turning white, and she honestly starts internally freaking out because by this point, between having to provide him medical assistance for his defect and having to spend more time with him than intended and watching him grow up more closely than she planned, RS!Adora is attached enough that the implications of Hordak somehow being the latest Prim-Al is distressing for her and provides a serious conflict with her loyalty to RS!Light Hope...
(Also just feel like saying that while I’m brainstorming that RS!Adora is kind of an android that’s been around for a while/like 1000+ years, I’m more in the camp that thinks that canon Hordak is actually quite young/not centuries old, even though he might have the potential for that/he can get that old later.)
There are more details on how baby RS!Hordak ends up on Etheria and the unique situation behind his birth, but that’s for another text post or fic.
RS!Adora passes herself off as an organic (even a native) while on Etheria. One metal arm is left exposed due to a minor glitch there that messes up the regen protocol for her synthetic skin; she pretends it’s just armor mainly for aesthetic/ceremonial purposes. But this is equivalent to a superficial scar, and it does not hinder or cause RS!Adora any great pain. Before Etheria she was considered one of RS!Light Hope’s perfect androids, and a random portal just plucked her from routine combat duty. (Light Hope didn’t really notice; any missing She-Ra units were assumed to be casualties of battle, and she had plenty more She-Ra units to replace any losses.)

RS!Catra is a commander in RS!Adora’s Etherian Alliance. RS!Adora and RS!Catra have grown estranged while nominally on the same side. (I’ve been brainstorming RS!Adora/RS!Scorpia down the line after quite a few things go down.)
RS!Catra learned magic in Mystacor and RS!Light Spinner was her most influential mentor. RS!Catra’s specialty was transforming into a large predatory feline and other spells to strengthen her body. (I just keep getting more intrigued by original ‘80s Catra.)
When RS!Light Spinner roped RS!Catra into helping her with the Spell of Obtainment, things turned disastrous. The spell backfire warped RS!Catra, scarring her with a shadowy substance and granting her new shadow-like powers that made her vastly stronger, but the abrupt and traumatic change wrought by magic led to an initial period of insatiability and loss of control that resulted in RS!Catra transforming into an even larger, shadow-constructed feline that killed/devoured Light Spinner and other sorcerers investigating the commotion. RS!Catra flees Mystacor after this and eventually gains control over her new power, but grows more corrupt with it too, and is also left with a new hunger. Years later RS!Catra throws her lot in with the Alliance of monarchs and RS!Adora to solidify/take control of Etheria. (At the moment there’s tentatively another complicating factor with the Spell of Obtainment in this AU, but gonna leave that for another post or fic while I spend more time privately brainstorming it first.)
(Also RS!Catra’s design is very much based on her S3 finale corrupted form because I thought that was neat and that it could work in this AU. I also liked the idea of just using shadow magic to wrap around her and transform her into a large predatory shadow feline as a callback of her original ‘80s incarnation.)
Though RS!Adora is at the head of the Etherian Alliance with RS!Catra as her commander and essentially right hand, most of its high command is made of princesses and other monarchs/nobles who wished to tighten their control over Etheria. However, the Scorpion kingdom, Bright Moon, and Dryl resisted this agenda, and the Alliance considered them enemies and part of the rebels.
RS!Catra actually does just drop RS!Hordak off at the infirmary with the other orphans, complying with RS!Adora’s orders. Despite sensing some strong magic from RS!Hordak, RS!Catra’s content to leave him with the other orphans and just keep an eye on him for now.
(The magic RS!Catra’s sensing from RS!Hordak is something that can only be really triggered once he has the Sword of Protection.)

But when Hordak’s around four years old, his body starts breaking down/his defect becomes apparent. Many in the Alliance give up on the boy’s use as a soldier-in-training (or even use as a servant) and consider casting him out, despite RS!Adora’s insistence that they have enough resources to spare on providing the boy with ongoing medical assistance. (RS!Adora is motivated by a variety of things, including honoring Light Hope’s precept that all creatures have a place under her reign (until she orders otherwise); and at this point RS!Adora still feels some connection to her fellow portal traveler stranded on Etheria and feels compelled to try to help in this situation.) It’s then that RS!Catra steps in and takes in RS!Hordak as her ward. She still thinks he has use (she can still sense great magic from him) and sees this as an opportunity to position herself as the boy’s “savior” and really secure his loyalty.
Though the relationship between RS!Adora and RS!Catra is gradually deteriorating, the nature of RS!Catra’s true motives for taking in RS!Hordak is essentially lost on RS!Adora. While largely everyone in the Alliance had spurned the idea of keeping RS!Hordak around any longer now that he was defective--something RS!Adora found rather discouraging--RS!Catra’s the only one other than RS!Adora to express some interest in the boy. In the face of that much rejection, RS!Adora thinks that if RS!Catra wants to take RS!Hordak as her ward, she should have him.
RS!Adora constructs RS!Hordak’s first set of assistive armor. This eventually includes surgery and giving him ports for a closer/better connection to the armor. RS!Adora continues to treat RS!Hordak and maintain his armor, and helps educate him on how it works when he expresses interest in it and science/technology in general.
RS!Catra is not a good adoptive mother to RS!Hordak. She trains him brutally, pushes him as far as his defect will allow, telling him he needs to work harder to make up for his defect and keep up with everyone else. Her harsh words encourage his self-loathing, and she does aim to break him down to keep him compliant. She’s basically partly swapped with Shadow Weaver in this AU (partly since RS!Light Spinner isn’t really swapped, she’s partially in a “what if she was really on the wrong end of the Spell of Obtainment and was killed by its backfire like those Mystacor sorcerers were,” and also “what if Catra was her student at Mystacor instead of Micah.”)
For a long time RS!Hordak believes he deserves RS!Catra’s harsh treatment, and is afraid that she’ll cast him out if he’s not good enough. He’s aware that there’s no one else in the Alliance that would really take him in. He worries that RS!Adora would just withdraw her mercy and assistance if she realized how weak he really was, so he often tries to hide as much of that as he can from her, including signs of RS!Catra’s abusive treatment. RS!Catra sometimes softens with RS!Hordak--for example, she taught him how to drive a skiff and those were calm lessons, with RS!Catra less demanding and less harsh than when she trains him in combat--but she does not provide him with consistent care and continues to emotionally/verbally/mentally/physically abuse him.

(Above: Definitely referenced a screenshot from the show. Not pictured: Probably RS!Prime losing his shit immediately after this and cursing RS!Catra out and maybe breaking out a recording of one of RS!Adora’s tongue-lashings to unsettle her.)
RS!Catra is furious when RS!Hordak finally runs away in his teens. Her relationship with him has become somewhat less business and more dangerously personal; she has developed a twisted affection for him as her adopted son, and that makes her reactions even more volatile and harsh when he runs away. RS!Catra does not react well to RS!Hordak’s attempts to escape her.
(When RS!Hordak leaves the Etherian Alliance, he’s a little younger than canon!Adora when she leaves the Etherian Horde due to some reasons that’ll be saved for another text post or fic.)

RS!Hordak isn’t used to getting encouragement from an authority figure/older adult, it always startles him whenever it happens.
(Playing around with role swap AU--also felt like having RS!AI Prime be softer than both canon!Light Hope and canon!Horde Prime, and that’s included him being more supportive/encouraging and even more snarky/playful as another sketch comic indicated above [though part of his humor is just like a result of--he’s pretty old, some inhibitions have just dropped over time and he’s seen quite a few things just repeat over and over, and part of his response to that is to sometimes act more flippant].)
While previous Prim-Al have had some slight variations in appearance depending on the individual clone vessel’s clothing/scars/etc., Hordak’s Prim-Al transformation is the most drastically different. All of his older clone-brothers have had white hair and yellow eyes, and so their Prim-Al transformations have had long white hair and one yellow eye, while the rest turned green and gained visible pupils. Hordak has blue hair and red eyes, and so his Prim-Al transformation reflects that more--the red eye stays, and Prim-Al now has blue hair with a few streaks of white. He has clothes with a primary color scheme of black-and-red instead of black-and-white. Hordak’s Prim-Al is slightly shorter than previous Prim-Al. Hordak’s Prim-Al has more armor, since they shield his defect--which Prim-Al now has since Hordak has it. Due to this, Hordak’s Prim-Al, while gaining a significant boost in power/etc., is typically not as strong as his brothers’ Prim-Al transformations. (However, Hordak’s determination and tolerance for pain is regularly equal to his older brothers’ own determination and tolerance for pain.)
Though the defect remains, the use of AI Prime to trigger the Prim-Al transformation again provides greater power. It also does have some effect on appearance and structure. A closer examination of Prim-Al should show this: Prim-Al looks more like someone recently scarred/mutilated/afflicted with a defect, rather than someone who’s grown up with it. And so, though defective, Prim-Al’s arms look less withered and retain more muscle, and generally look better than Hordak’s usual arms. (And again, they still have a magitech boost going on.)
While FO did program AI Prime to have some regard for the clone vessels, he started caring more than they had planned. AI Prime grew to genuinely care for every clone vessel for Prim-Al, and saw them more as brothers. This now includes Hordak. And though he values his brothers and means well, AI Prime’s cynicism and (remnant) programming can sometimes get in the way of his attempts to help. His own deep-seated trauma can be a factor too.
With every new clone, AI Prime initially tries to distance himself to avoid further pain, because he grieves the loss of every clone--but he ultimately always admits to seeing them as brothers. (With his long life and the FO and Light Hope and other external factors trapping him in this cycle, AI Prime somewhat copes by comparing the whole thing to the passing of seasons. He’ll be passed down to a new clone-brother, he’ll try to resist caring about the clone-brother, he’ll grow to care about the clone-brother anyway, clone-brother dies, he’s alone until the next clone-brother comes, and then the whole thing starts again.)
Though AI Prime is a digital clone of Subject A’s mind, he doesn’t have complete access to his mental template’s memories due to FO intervention. The FO also did not tell AI Prime everything.
Yep the LUVD crystal is there, RS!Entrapta should be another sketch post or fic. She’s gone from like the oldest princess to the youngest princess in this AU, and is around the same age as RS!Hordak.
Thanks for checking this out, hope you enjoyed this AU! Hope to have more about this up later.
Forgot to add: Yep RS!Kadroh is that Kadroh, he’s RS!Wrong Hordak in this AU.

An Unexpected Declaration
Story Introduction for an Idea I have. Note, I do not endorse teenage pregnancy, Teen Sex, etc, etc. Toga and Izuku in this are villains, meaning they are acting against the law no matter what they do and this is what I think Himiko would reasonably want/do given my understanding of her. Now, with that out of the way, let’s get to the fic.
“I want a baby.”
That was the one statement that made Izuku Midoriya choke in surprise on his milkshake mid sip. Hacking out coughs, he pounded his fist into his chest to clear his windpipe. Once clear, he looked at his surroundings. Dabi, Mustard, Spinner, and Compress were playing their game of Uno while little Kota and Eri watched, Twice was off somewhere, likely chatting with Hawks, and after a look around, he remembered that Tomura was upgrading for All for One. With his surrounding clear, he looked to his newly declared wife, formerly Toga Himiko, now Midoriya Himiko, staring at him expectantly as she sipped from her glass of blood that Izuku had painstakingly drained herself for.
It had been a few months (It was currently Early February) since the battle with the massive Meta Liberation Army where he, Mustard, and Toga almost lost their lives if Jin hadn't intervened when they did. Thankfully, their quirks awakened while they were engaging in combat, with Mustard’s Gas now inducing Fear and Horrific Hallucinations in his victims upon being inhaled, essentially crippling an enemy and allowing him to quickly put a bullet in their skull while incapaciated (fortunately, the Doctor had been able to immunize the League and its Warriors and allies to the gas, though Hawks was kept out of the immunization due to there not being enough), Toga could now copy the Quirks when disguised as someone she really loved and respected, as long as she had a decent understanding of their Quirk, and Izuku’s three Quirks, Air Arms, Regenerate, and Insight, had allowed awakened. The first formerly meant he could only grab certain things as well as launch himself in different directions and throw them, but now he could increase pressure and essentially crush someone into goop with air, the second one being him with the ability to regenerate old wounds before new wounds after thirty minutes now having him being able to heal in half that time with all wounds over his body as well as any lost limbs but with the cost of a massive amount of energy being lost, which he’d need rest to recover. Finally, Insight initially allowed him to view a Person’s Quirk and their intentions during a fight, but now it allowed him to view specific memories of someone, anyone at all, and any plans they have, regardless of being in combat or not.
And it just so happened that thanks to Insight, he knew exactly what the Heroes were planning thanks to a little birdy being his little lab rat for it.
Now, the former League of Villains stood as Seven of the Eleven Lieutenants of the newly declared Paranormal Liberation Front led by Shigaraki Tomura consisting of 116,000 warriors and the natural disaster Gigantomachia. Dabi and the Ice user from the Meta Liberation Army, Geten, commanded the Violet Regiment, specialized in Guerilla Warfare. Twice commanded the Black Regiment, specialized in Tactics, Himiko and the MLA’s Hacker Skeptic commanded the Carmine Regiment tasked with Intelligence with the traitorous Hero Slidin Go as an advisor, Spinner and Compress commanded the Brown Regiment tasked with Support, and finally Mustard was given command of the Yellow Regiment tasked with Biological and Psychological Warfare. There was also that bitch Curious who he let his hime have fun with for a time, she now served as an advisor to Himiko and was very willing to listen to what her boss had to say after what had happened between them, something Izuku likely never wanted to know. Izuku was given the greatest honor of all though.
He was given the position of overarching Second-in-Command and Master of Strategy, which meant Shigaraki trusted him with laying the groundwork for the coming war and how to deploy each regiment effectively and where they’d be best suited. Essentially, this made him enemy #1 on the Hero’s capture/kill list, likely along with Twice and Mustard, simply due to how dangerous the three were. Mustard knew this but Twice...He really did love Jin, but sometimes he was too trusting for his own good. Then there was the young seven year olds Kota and Eri, which Himiko, Mustard, and Izuku had effectively adopted as their younger siblings. Both of them were given advisory roles to Izuku, Himiko, and Mustard but it was more to allow them to learn how to lead and what to do for when they grow up more than anything else.
But on to the current moment, he looked at his wife of two weeks, completely flabbergasted at what he heard from her mouth. “W-w-what?” Maybe he heard her wrong? Maybe she said something else and he misinterpreted what she said? He hadn’t been getting much sleep since he started planning the PLF’s strategies for the upcoming war, so much so that now Himiko was complaining about in bed and their once fiery nights turned into warm, comforting snuggle sessions, which, thankfully, his blood-crazed wife didn’t mind. Mustard snickered behind him.
“You heard your wife, buddy. She wants to have your spawn.” He joked as Dabi hit him with a Plus Four. “God Damnit!” He cursed, drawing four cards, now having six instead of just two. “And I was so close too.” He pouted and Izuku gave a small smirk at how cute the former middle schooler was acting. Initially, the two of them and Himiko didn’t see eye to eye much, what with Izuku being focused on the mission, Himiko being all over the place and constantly looking for blood, and Mustard being distrusting of people and overly aggressive. However, with time and patience, the three became the closest of the League and with Eri and Kota formed the League’s Next Generation as coined by Compress, given the five of them were younger than the other five. Now, Mustard was his best friend and a good person to talk to when Izuku needed it and vice versa.
It was nice.
“Is it really that surprising, Izu-kun?” Himiko spoke up, her golden eyes staring directly into Izuku’s emerald ones. She was really beautiful in her current apparel, a fancy shirt with a fluffy skirt and her hair not in their trademark buns. Not to mention the view her skirt gave when Izuku looked down. “I mean, I’ve been your wife for what? Two months? Three?”
“It’s been two weeks, Himi-san.” He clarified. Dabi simply scoffed as it approached his turn.
“Not in my books, it hasn’t.” He began as he looked at the two, turning away from the simple card game. “With you two constantly sucking each other’s faces and being together in bed since the whole drama with the Yakuza, I’d say that’s when you two actually got hitched, even though you recently made it official or whatever.” He stated in his common, matter-of-fact tone Izuku had grown used to. “Uno.” He stated nonchalantly as he placed his second to last card down. A glance in his direction and Izuku saw it was a red five.
If you want the full story, let me know and I’ll continue to work on it. If you want to make art of it, just hit me up with a private DM and I’ll allow it and even feature your art. Hope you enjoyed my crappy writing. Have fun.

Right now, people are speculating if tomura has lost his humanity which includes his attachment to the league now that he was awakened with his new quirk as a ‘transcendent being’. I wonder how he will interact with his team when he returns? Will he question how the heroes managed to get the jump on them? How will he react to twice’s death? To Dabi letting in a hero spy into their lair and causing this raid and twice’s death? Is the tomura we have seen grow disappeared or is he still the same?
SHIGARAKI TOMURA - A VERY HUMAN VILLAIN
People may question if Shigaraki Tomura has lost his humanity since acquiring AFO’s power, however I would like to point out that it’s a running theme in the manga for characters to frequently question the humanity of Shigaraki and see him as something less than human, or a force that only exists for evil and destruction.
However, despite the fact that the heroes and Shigaraki’s enemies insist that Shigaraki has lost his humanity, the story shows the opposite. As much as Shigaraki has changed over the course of the story, he has also stayed the same.
Shigaraki started out as a kid who wanted to be a hero who saved others, and specifically a kid who would go out of his way to play with the bullied kids. Everyone knows this by now, I would say however growing up in that household shaped Shigaraki to have core values that don’t really change no matter how much he changes as a person.
Number one, the most important thing to Shigaraki is freedom. In a childish way he sees it as the freedom to do whatever he wants, because that is how All For One influenced him.
All for One specifically told Shigaraki that being born with the power to destroy means that he should use it without restraint, and never try to hold himself back because in doing so he’ll only hurt himself. AFO tried to influence him to be an unstable manchild because that would make him more dangerous and fearsome to the general public.
However, Shigaraki’s destruction is always a response. He always destroys for a reason no matter how much he insists his destruction is completely random. One of the key themes of My Hero Academia is that in times of crisis you will remember your origin. Shigaraki’s origin is a household that oppressed him to the extent that he wasn’t allowed to become a hero. All he wanted was someone in that household to agree with him rather than deny him. He wanted people to stop telling him he was wrong.
Shigaraki values freedom, specifically freedom from oppression. Oppression that specifically denies the needs of an individual just because they disrupt society. For example, the opppression that had Himiko’s parents turn abusive on her calling her a demon child because she was born with a strange quirk.
In that way Shigaraki fights for a kind of true liberation, different from what the liberation force fights for. The Meta Liberation Army while wanting to overturn society also repeated several of society’s oppressive attitude, juding people’s worth based entirely on the strength of their quirk whereas Shigaraki is willing to accept people like Compress, and Spinner who do not have super powerful combat efficient quirks and value them just as much as all the other members from his team.
Shigaraki also knows the feelings of someone who has not been saved. He’s reflected on this several times, even as early back as his conversation with Deku. He knows that the way the current society functions, it ignores the plights of victims like him that are either too inconvenient to save.
It’s what Shigaraki says to Deku word for word: “I could hurt you right now and not a single person would come save you. They’ll all walk by and pretend it’s none of their business, because they all think a hero is going to come save them.”
Shigaraki is willing to give people like Twice a chance, even though he was insane and his quirk no longer worked as well as it once did. Not only that, but when people make mistakes Shigaraki never throws them away. Giran is captured and ratted them out, and Shigaraki went to go save them. Twice makes a mistake and because of that Magne is killed, but rather than get angry at Twice, Shigaraki simply asks Twice to do his best to make up for his mistake, and that he’ll be doing his best alongside him.
Shigaraki understands the feelings of: “If only somebody had saved me” better than anyone else in the manga. This is something that even the kids don’t question. The kids in their complete and unwavering faith in the hero system can’t even respond to questions like “Who should you really be saving?”
Shigaraki also goes out of his way to save people even after they’ve made mistakes, or betrayed the league. Giran ratted on them and got nearly every member killed, and yet not only did Shigaraki walk right into a trap to save him, he also took special care to make sure he was alive, and rescued safely when he was in the middle of getting pounded.
The final is also somewhat of a paradox. Shigaraki has been manipulated to think that he hated his family, and wanted to kill everyone.
However, all of Shigaraki’s actions show the opposite. Not only does Shigaraki feel guilt for killing his family several years after the fact. Not only did he intentionally hold back his quirk at first because he was afraid of killing again. The words of his family stayed with him. Shigaraki only ever remembers his family in a mostly positive light.
In his heart, Shigaraki holds himself accountable for what he did to his family even though it was an accident. At the same time, it’s revealed to us in his dream sequence that he already forgives his family for what transpired today, he remembers his grandparents being kind to him, he doesn’t resent his mom for just watching what his family did to him and even reassures her, he tells his sister he doesn’t care that she tattled on him anymore.
His family is someone he can never forget in both senses of the word. He doesn’t forget the times his family household was kind to him, the genuine love his mother, grandparents, and sister all showed to him, and he hasn’t really stopped mourning them ever for a single moment. He even still keeps Nana’s hand, the last hand that wasn’t broken and wears it after his so called “liberation” from his past memories of them. Yet, at the same time he doesn’t allow his family to deny who he is.
Shigaraki is someone who has been influenced by people all of ihs life, his abusive father, AFO, and then all of AFO’s constituents and the other villains he’s fought against so far. However, at the same time Shigaraki has remained the same kid throughout all of this. Always Shimura Tenko. Always the kid who wanted to play with the kids who got bullied. Always the kid resentful he didn’t get saved.
2. Shigaraki is better than what created him
Eri is referred to as a cursed inhuman existence born only to destroy, simply because of the quirk she was born with, completely neglecting who Eri is as a person. Deku however says that just by slightly changing your perspective, you can see how kind and gentle Eri is.
Shigaraki is a character much like this. The people around him, mostly heroes always insist that he’s inhuman and again and again that he can only want destruction because of his quirk. Yet, the people closest to Shigaraki know how kind, and gentle he can be.
So we have characters like All Might, Mr. Completely Ignores Endeavor’s abuse of his own family, constantly saying that someone like Shigaraki can’t possibly have a cause for all of his destruction. Ignoring what Shigaraki says when he tells them that heroes can be violent too just like villains, their violence is just categorized differently.
Shigaraki is continually told he has no reason for wanting to destroy things, that there could be no possible motivation behind his actions. This is something that even AFO himself said, that Shigaraki simply lusted for destruction because he was born that way.
Characters insist again, that Shigaraki isn’t capable of creating anything, or achieving anything because he can only destroy. This is an identity that’s forced on him by his environment ut it’s not who he is at the center of his being. Even when he’s getting the tar beaten out of him by Re-Destro what he thinks is not that he wants to destroy, but rather that he wanted his family to tell him it was okay for him to be a hero.
So we reach the most recent chapter with someone once again asserting that Shigaraki cannot possibly want anything other than to hurt the people around him, and destroy what he can.
Even ENDEAVOR (lol) of all people accuses Shigaraki of not fighting for the right ideals. Yet, Shigaraki has always shown to be fighting for something.
People insist that Shigaraki was just born that way, that he just wants to destroy. Yet, there are very specific environmental factors that shaped him into who he is. Shigaraki who apparently has no reasons for doing the things he does, has the longest backstory in the series (four origin chapters in total if you count Shigaraki Tomura: Distortion). Shigaraki’s line against Endeavor also implies that Shigaraki has been fighting for the same thing from the start. That he’s always had a cause, something to fight for (or maybe even just fight against) and that he simply believed what other people constantly told him.
So, no clearly the All For One quirk being given to Shigaraki has not changed who he is as a person at all. Shigaraki’s thoughts always rest with his friends and his family. Shigaraki’s first literal action upon waking up is to call Machia to his side, and protect the league. Shigaraki’s actions also saved Himiko, because if Machia had not picked her up she likely would have gone on a suicide mission.
So, there is one last point I want to make: The reason the plan is going so wrong right now is precisely because Shigaraki is someone who chooses again and again to put his trust in others. First, it went wrong because not only did he allow Dabi free reign to invite whoever he wanted to the league, but he also trusted Twice with his location.
Shigaraki won’t throw Dabi out of the league for saying that he’s only here to use the league for his own benefit, because Shigaraki has always known this about Dabi and lets him work with the league anyway. Shigaraki is someone who puts his allies before themselves and gives them the freedom to be who they want to be.
Shigaraki has said mutliple times the league can do whatever they want. He’s not really selfishly minded or motivated like AFO is. If anything, Shigaraki is much more likely to sacrifice himself, or put the group’s needs first. The Shigaraki that we’ve seen right now is the same progression of the Shigaraki we’ve always known: he fights on the front lines to draw the heroes away from his friends, he fights himself instead of needlessly risking his own allies, he needs his allies by his side.
The raid happened because of Shigaraki’s trusting nature twice. Not only because he allowed Dabi to invite Hawks to the league, but also Kurogiri’s capture and betrayal someone Shigaraki was genuinely close to and listened to for counsel led to his location at the hospital being ratted out to both Eraserhead and Mic. So it’s not Shigaraki not trusting others that led to the Hospital Raid, but rather it’s because Shigaraki chose to trust others that this is all happening.
YET, when this happened last time with Overhaul Shigaraki didn’t stop trusting others. He didn’t throw Twice out. His choice back then was to take responsibility and trust Twice even more to fix the mistake he made. Which will likely be his response again.
Shigaraki also fights against anyone who tries to control or oppress him the same way his father did once. When AFO tries to physically control his own body, he frees himself of the vestiges.
Shigaraki won’t lose his trust in other people, and won’t lose his close relationship with the league, because Shigaraki has already sustained this kind of loss before. Over and over again. He loses most of the Nomus, he loses Magne, he loses AFO. Yet, at those times when he loses these things Shigaraki’s response is always the same.
Shigaraki is struggling to be better that the environment that created him. Shigaraki’s arc is not one of him losing his humanity, but rather Shigaraki keeping his humanity in the face of constant losses.
His environment is really truly something that should have robbed him of his humanity. There are people like AFO who are out there to make him into a puppet, to rob him of all agency, and identity. Yet, Shigaraki always fights back against those trying to control him and tell him no.
Shigaraki won’t turn on the league, because his connections with the league are what make him human. It’s his connections with others he makes over and over again in the face of his extremely oppressive environment, first with Kurogiri, then with the league that allows him to stay the same at the core of who he is.
While Shigaraki is constantly dehumanized by both the hero system and the villains he fights against, he’s actually one of the most human characters in the whole series. Not only is he very sympathetic and understandable where exactly he is coming from, but he’s also always, always, always, always, struggling against a set of very human flaws.

Heyo, could you maybe do (potentially crack) hcs about how the LoV members would play DnD/Pathfinder? Maybe how they'd act as both players and the DM too?
Includes: Dabi, Shigaraki, Toga, Compress, & Spinner
Warnings: N/A
A/N: I have no clue what Pathfinder is and I haven't played DnD personally, but I used to watch different people play it. I couldn't think of anything for Twice.
Dabi

The nightmare of DMs everywhere
He's a pretty nonchalant player which is a blessing compared to Shigaraki
But he's a little too nonchalant
He doesn't follow the rules and never listens when the DM explains the campaign
The way he plays changes based off of who's the DM
He'll pay attention to Compress's since his campaigns are pretty entertaining and he'll pay attention to Shigaraki's solely to ruin the game for him
He also doesn't use a character sheets. His characters are made up on the spot and they're literally all just him. He only uses fire magic, how original 🙄.
He doesn't like being the DM. It's way too much work. Consider yourself lucky he's even playing.
Toga

Plays for violence
She doesn't care about any stats other than strength and charisma (only because she wants to intimidate)
Tries to kill any and every NPC she meets, ruining any plans the DM has
She has a thirst for combat, and she will quench it 😈
She isn't allowed to be DM
Her campaigns are considered "sloppy" and "thrown together" and and "creepy" and she always includes a NPC that acts and looks a lot like Deku. It freaks Shigaraki the fuck out.
Shigaraki

Takes the game way too seriously
A fucking tryhard
Turns out, there is an "I" in team and Tomura found it
Every move he makes is for his own benefit
Oh, a teammate is in trouble? Well, it's their fault for being so stupid
Throws a fit if anyone is breaking the rules even though he breaks the rules
His campaigns are unnecessarily difficult and for some reason, Dabi always ends up getting attacked
He's destructive like Toga, but his chaos is calculated 😼
If he somehow dies, he'll claim everyone's out to get him and turn everyone's sheets to ash
Mr. Compress

This was his time to shine, his moment
It's his world and we're just living in it
His campaigns are very intricate and immersive
All his characters need a voice, a family, dreams, aspirations... love 🥺
The voice he does for the female characters makes Shigaraki uncomfortable
He's such an annoying player, because he won't answer outside of his character name. HE WILL NOT BREAK IMMERSION!
"Compress? Who's Compress? I'm just a humble half-elf named Fleegon trying to sell his wares 😌."
Spinner

Doesn't understand it
Doesn't understand it and it makes him so mad
He tries so hard to understand the game but he just...can't get it
He even asked Shigaraki for help, but all he did was yell at him for not understanding 😔
Like, what the hell???
If Dabi, Toga, and Twice of all people understand, it why can't he?
He tried watching videos on it but it's all so confusing

If it's any consolation, I'm sure that the Advisors and the rest of the MLA (Re-Destro, Trumpet, Geten) will show back up sooner than the final arc, just because we're going into Year 2 and the students would find great 1 on 1 or team opponents with the Advisors. Re-Destro and Geten are heavy hitters (and Geten could be tied to Dabi, Shoto and all that somehow) and they were locked up with Mr. Compress and Machia, but who do you want to see first from the Advisors?
Thanks, anon; I certainly do hope we'll get to see more of them. Admittedly, my main concern is that I so liked what was going on with the Paranormal Liberation Front that even if we do see all of the MLA types again, if it's only in the context of speedbump battles for the students, that's still going to be a letdown. Better than nothing, to be sure, but I really do want them to join back up with the League, even a League that's confused and out of sorts under All For One's hand. I love RD's big spiritual-awakening-flavored crush on Shigaraki, the cross-organization tensions and relationships, just as much as I love the depth the MLA brings to the world outside of just what's going on with the heroes.
I'm fairly frustrated with how the MLA fared during and after the raid, largely because it's awfully hard not to conclude that, if what we have right now is all the erstwhile-MLA are ever going to come to, Shigaraki would have been significantly better off if he'd just killed them all and shacked up with Ujiko for four months. And that would be such a waste! The end of My Villain Academia was such an enormous triumph for Shigaraki! I want his victory to amount to something more than what we've seen, something that shows that both his strength and his mercy will pay off for him in the long-term, will be a concrete benefit to him rather than, with the benefit of hindsight, the reason everything went so wrong.
Particularly with Re-Destro, since Horikoshi saw fit to have Dark Shadow all but one-shot the man, and Edgeshot defeat him off-panel, it's really not going to mean much to me for him to have a big fight with students unconnected to anything else. The drama's rather gone out of it at this point. That's particularly the case since, if he's no longer connected to Shigaraki's plot, it's that much easier for him to just be off-paneled and forgotten about. But, if Rikiya gets looped back in with the League, if his gratitude and admiration of Shigaraki mean he still has a role to play in Shigaraki's arc, that makes it much easier to get invested in any fights that role will lead him to. Ditto the MLA more broadly; it's categorically ridiculous to present that organization with the kinds of numbers, breadth of influence and legitimate grievances they have, only to try to sweep them back under the rug exactly like Shigaraki accuses heroes of doing with everyone they can't save.
To say the least, I'm pretty invested. But I appreciate your consolations and am trying to hold out hope that we'll get some good stuff with them yet!
My anxieties aside, and to hit the other portion of your ask--who would I like to see first among the Advisors?--hit the jump:
(All nicknames and shorthand are taken from this post.)
Well, it'd be nice if they could all get at least as much to do as the Eight Bullets back during the Hassaikai arc, seeing as they got a similar splash page spread introducing all their faces. There are considerably more than eight of them, of course, but even if they never get more attention than e.g. Galvanize or the hose-faced guy who iced Midnight did, at least then we'd have some idea of their power sets and at least one angle on their personality.
Assuming we aren’t going to get full breakdowns on every single one of them, there are still four things I'd really like to see happen with the MLA/the Advisors: the student fights we're expecting, the jailbreaks we're being told about, the reunion with the League I'm praying for, and for literally anyone in the in-world media to try and get their side of the story.
Student Fights: Seeing the guy who killed Midnight again is as sure a bet as any of these get. Momo is an important enough character, with enough sustained arc, that she will have to get something else to do before the series is over. Taking command of a group battle against real opponents--ones with more responsiveness and agency than Gigantomachia--would be in-line with what she's been moving towards so far. I would, however, love it if that fight would be more challenging than a straightforward battle of tactics.
I headcanon Hose Face and Scarecrow as, respectively, an ex-con and a dude with physical disabilities--both people who have ample reason to want to change the series' status quo irt human rights abuses in prison and overly restrictive quirk use laws. I'm not expecting the canon to validate me on what amount to wild guesses, of course, but I want those Advisors in particular to have motivations more nuanced than, "They're quirk supremacists; who cares why they're willing to put their lives on the line over this?"
A feel-good revenge match in which a bunch of teenagers lay the smack down on characters whose humanity the audience is asked neither to know nor care about would be lazy, and counterproductive to the series' current thematic concerns. Give Momo her victory, by all means, but don't give it to her easy. A confrontation like this would be a good way for the less central Class A students to begin wrestling with the question of who, exactly, heroes "save" and what it is that people need to be saved from, exactly the way Deku and Uraraka and Shouto are now wrestling with these questions.
As far as other fights go, I'd also love to see Brand and The Question pop up again. They're probably the two I'm most curious about purely in terms of what their quirks are. Why does The Question wear a mask, and what's he like that he wound up in Mr. Compress's chain of command? And with Brand, what kind of quirk does he have that's powerful enough to land him a ranked position in the Guerilla Warfare Regiment but indirect enough that he fights with a sword?
Prison Breaks: I wouldn't expect this to be particularly involved, probably more of an aside than anything, but I want the Bindi Ladies to spring Hole Punch Face, thus getting us an angle on what's going on with that particular trio. Aviator Teeth can come too because I want at least some hints about what his deal is.
I'd also love to watch Horikoshi even attempt to retroactively justify some of the logistics of the single-day capture and subsequent detention of 17,000 super-powered, combat-trained people.* I mean, I don't think there are any feasible explanations for that, but I'd be curious to see what he'd come up with, especially if every possible answer just makes Hero Society look worse! We have only ever seen Tartarus as an example of the prison conditions in this country; I'd love to hear more, and an MLA-focused jailbreak would be a great way to show it.
PLF Reunion: Of course, my number one thing to see with a reunion is Re-Destro being just as dismayed as Spinner is over Tomura's possession. I crave more serious attention being paid to Rikiya's profound awe over Shigaraki's freedom, and would love to see his reaction to Shigaraki apparently losing that freedom.
Aside from the obvious, though, if the PLF does start piecing itself back together, I expect to see Sanctum again, given the attention he's gotten so far, and the fact that he's now the highest-ranked member of the Tactics Regiment. It'd be great to get some explanation for how he can possibly be "the longest-serving member of the Liberation Army," given that the Army was generations old already when Re-Destro was just a child. (If we do get that information, I imagine my own explanation will be jossed hugely, so I would also be happy to take time with Sanctum that doesn't explain the discrepancy but also doesn't invalidate my headcanon.)
In the context of the regiments reforming, I'd also like to see Nimble and Aster, both because this manga needs more women, and because I'd like to see more of how Spinner and Toga interact with the people they were nominally commanding.
Media Attention: Trumpet's my number one hope here--the lack of any look into the state of the government in HeroAca Japan has been a total let-down since his introduction**, but I was particularly annoyed that the last time we saw him he was smiling (albeit in a fairly haggard way), giving me hope that we might next see him doing his part to portray all of this in a light that would sway public opinion. And then literally one chapter later, we get prison guards talking about how the Hearts & Minds Party, a perfectly legitimized political party with representation on the national level, has been perfunctorily dissolved less than twelve hours from when the raid started. How is there even an argument that the system heroes were upholding desperately needs to change?
I'm very tired of the media in BNHA only ever showing up to beg for/demand that heroes tell them what’s going on, particularly those damn press conferences. Journalists do investigative work! Newspapers employ reporters to actively seek out news! Reporters in free countries don't just sit around waiting for the government or heads of major industries to graciously hand them press releases! For heaven's sake, Trumpet was the head of a major political party. People should be foaming at the mouth trying to get a statement from him!
Especially with public trust in heroes breaking down, there should absolutely be intrepid reporters out there looking to get to the bottom of any of the layered conspiracies the public's just been hit with and told to just write-off as a bump in the road on the return to normalcy.
Anyway, Trumpet's the obvious choice, but if I could be sure the manga would validate my headcanons about Nimble and Scarecrow's disabilities, I'd be happy to put them in this position, too. Trucker Toad would be another good candidate, if there's any basis to my idea that he is or used to be a transport driver who's seen a lot of the country outside the areas e.g. the Top Ten Heroes are patrolling. He's obviously a good candidate for getting back to that idea of anti-heteromorph bias, too. But really, I'd take anyone who can give a cogent explanation of the MLA's position on self-determination and the various ways Hero Society has exacerbated quirk-based discrimination.
Anyway, that's about where my thoughts are on where I hope the MLA people are and what we might see of them. Thanks for the ask!
--------------
*Or as many as 100,000 more than that, depending on how through the statement, "Their bases around the country were also attacked, and their supporters rounded up," was meant to be. An influx of 116K people, incidentally, would triple Japan's current carceral population.
**Why! Why would you introduce a politician and then never even glance at your setting's political situation??

Looks like you’re gonna have to gush some more cuz I meant in general uwu🌸
🌺😌🤟 Always happy to! Okay here’s just some General bnha Thoughts ™ Mostly Lov centric. You asked for them, and you said GUSH about them, so here’s. A Lot! :)
This isn’t a lov one but it’s really funny so I thought I’d put it out there:
-when bnha was first gaining traction on tumblr, it was all art of Tsuyu. I have no idea why. People were talking about the funky frog lesbian superhero anime. Maybe it was just the people I was following, maybe it was a general trend, but I LOVED her design!!! my fav color and frogs r super cute!!! And I already loved superhero media, so I was like. I’ll watch it. For Her. SO. FROPPY IS THE REASON I WATCHED/READ BNHA. I went in thinking she was the protag and I was sooo confused when Izuku was... tbh I still think it’d be more interesting if she was lmaooo aus where? ...seriously if anyone has good aus where this is the case send them LOL
-I don’t actually feel that bad abt what Shigaraki’s doing. I still feel bad for him. I’m this post. yes im an apologist. its not my fault hes sexy and has been running around shirtless. hes a lesbian icon like thor is. I want to touch his hair. hes never done anything wrong in his life. he could kill all might, deku, bakugo, whatever, I’d still be sayin this. I don’t feel bad for gt. like. was anyone genuinely attached to him? lmao
-well u know how spinner’s quirk is just sticking to things? We haven’t seen him use it in canon except like, (1) time iirc?? I think this is probably bc he’s embarrassed about it even in front of the league... I loooove the idea that he gets more comfortable with it around them :”) and also how shigaraki. um. does that falling asleep thing while standing up with his eyes open, canonly? (which I still love lmfao) Imagine someone in the league walking in a dark room, turning on the light n just seeing. Spinner upside down, stuck to the ceiling asleep bc heat rises and its Warmer Up There. (cold blooded thing like tsuyu?? come ON give him a big fuzzy coat and scarf...) and Shigaraki in the center of the room, slouched but still standing, eyes open and motionless. Theyre both sleeping. Whomever sees it just...slowly walks out. LMAO
-Toga roller derby au. No deep thoughts I just think she’d be good at it.
-Toga 100% is a social butterfly and could befriend anyone if they didn’t just judge the fact she was trying to stab them smh :/ (ok but seriously anytime I see cute friendships with her n the other kids im like :) aw. I feel like her and Camie...would be good friends. Camie feels chill enough to be like ‘ok whatever thats totally fine I forgive you!!’ LMAO we love airheads here)
-HOW DID TOGA GET SO GOOD AT FIGHTING? We know she’s been on the run since middle school or so, but good enough to pin Deku down after he’s been formally trained at a ~hero school~ for a while? (she pinned him TWICE I think, once when his arms were messed up, but, the other time as Camie, so? AND THEN WAS ONE OF THE 100 PEOPLE TO GO THRU TO THE 2ND ROUND OF THAT? even tho she didn’t bc she had to leave) good enough to beat Aizawa in a fight and stab him? A professional hero and teacher for YEARS? Is that seriously just street training??? Can people acknowledge how amazing her combat skills and reflexes are??? More Toga appreciation when?? Also her backstory??? SO subversive and incredible, hate when people reduce her to just a ~typical anime yandere~ :/
-Tomura doing stuff with his hands/fingers to train his quirk!!! And to learn to be careful with it!! obv I’m a Big Fan of him playing piano to do this and video games are prob the canon answer, but like, guitar or any stringed instrument that requires Hands would work too. Or knitting/sewing? EMBROIDERING? ??? Please, let me give you the mental image of him knitting aggressively while mentally scheming, watching a twitch streamer or smth too while doing it. (Doing stuff with your hands is a great way to let your mind come up with creative stuff, that’s how I come up with writing/drawing ideas 70% of the time)
-Tomura actually PREFERS cutesty, relaxing games. I mean, he does fighting and bloody stuff irl, games are a way to relax...he’ll play shooters and gta type games with The Lads, but. on his own?? animal crossing. pokemon. kirby games. mario. zelda. BIG ZELDA FAN (not saying this bc I, personally, am biased, but,) slime rancher, stardew valley, funny simulator games... he really enjoys those :”) God forbid he has a kid bc they’re 100% getting named after a viddy game character unless someone can talk him out of it LOL. Toga and Tomura are that animal crossing /doom meme where she’d be asking for doom and him asking for animal crossing :”)
-Bits and pieces of Before are kinda stuck in Kurogiri’s brain, but like. mostly useless stuff the doctor didn’t care about removing. Like, types of clouds. So Tomura kinda picks up on stuff like that. He can just look at clouds and tell you what type they are because Kurogiri used to take him up to high places in the city and point them out to calm Tomura down from a panic attack when he was younger. He can tell you if the sky looks like it’ll rain with a 80% accuracy rate too.
-Kurogiri left food out for kitties in the alley beside the bar. They weren’t allowed in for Health Reasons (it IS a bar with sanitation standards!!) And Tomura really wouldn’t stop it or encourage it either way so long as Kurogiri did his job, but occasionally would stand outside with Kurogiri and just watch the kitties from a distance. If any approached he’d go back in (lowkey afraid he’d hurt them by touching them :( ) They kinda kept that between them tho, bc they both Know AFO is a big bag of dicks and no fun
-people have pointed out how similar aizawa and tomura look. this was 100% the intention. tomura has a hatecrush on him. THIS IS SO FUNNY AND HORRIBLY AWKWARD FOR KUROGIRI LMAO
-Sako??? Mr. Dramatic?? Opera fan. Drama kid. Like, obviously, but. Really. He is. I feel like he can speak a dozen languages. I also feel like he used to be an overachiever but got too ambitious. He was def some kind of leader at one point of a diff Group or something that fell apart. I LOVE how creative he is with his quirk and the magician theme??? incredible. I don’t show him enough love but I Love Clowns :o)
-I don’t care what their canon heights are. Spinner and Dabi? short kings. My height hcs are (tallest to shortest) Kurogiri, Twice, Sako (who also has heels on his boots and a tall hat, keep in mind), Tomura, Magne (Tomura and Magne are about the same height imo) Toga, Spinner, Dabi. LISTEN. Dabi has short energy. Sorry. it’s true tho
-This is a semi-popular hc I think bc I KNOW I’ve seen it before, but Dabi having Terrible Vision and needing glasses is so so good. (seriously, with burns THAT close to his eyeballs, how could he not?)
-he tries to be a tough loner coolguy. you’d think he’d smoke, but I hc his ‘weak constitution’ comes with weak lungs (esp from years of a flame quirk?? inhaling smoke over so much time is SO bad for you, most people who die in fires actually die of smoke inhalation...) so he’s got like, an inhaler, can’t smoke, actually gets carsick, needs glasses, overuses quirk to save friends constantly, likes napping, a little awkward and rude. Tomura put him in charge of the vanguard so he’s smart, and good with strategies too, like a nerd. this is the Dabi I wanna see, not the popular fandom version of him tbh also step on hawks one more time sir :”)
-I wish all the lov fics weren’t?? villain!deku like I said earlier, but also, chatfics? I have nothing against them but most of them are just a bombardment of Memes with NO PLOT!!! Listen. text/chatfics CAN have plot and be an interesting way to tell a story. I almost want to write one just to show what I mean...
I know I’ve said I like spinaraki and blackmagic, but I am a multishipper, so a few ships I don’t talk about that I like that involve the lov in some way:
-toga/any of the 1A girls??? or Camie??? super interesting. ALSO in the radio drama, bakugo’s voice actor said Toga was his favorite girl??? so?? bakugo/toga ?? I WANT TO SEE IT. but specifically my fav dynamic with her is when someone ELSE is the one to like her first, it’s what she deserves.
-Kurogiri/aizawa/mic?? any variety of that is also 👌🏻 I also kinda wanna see kurogiri/all might bc. Dads. COME ON. they bond over ‘well, I raised him, and you want to have a part in his life now?? ok. earn it. prove it. I’ll screen you first’ or something LMAO they’re both genuinely concerned for the boy, and SOOO biased. let them bond.
-WAIT WHERE IS THE MIC/COMPRESS CONTENT. THEYRE BOTH DRAMATIC. ENEMIES TO LOVERS?? HELLO??? SOMEONE?? ANYONE. rarepair hours
-giran/twice is cute. like he was hyping him up so much and so ready to go save him...
-dabi/magne where is the content. when. why not everywhere??? I’ve also seen magne/compress which was cute!! or twice/magne? they’re the big sibs of the lov...
-dabi/spinner?? come ON dabi could get over his learned biases and spend time with him and they could hold hands. I want them to.
-dabihawks. Obviously bc the Drama. yes even still, don’t @ me. (also, shigahawks, seen some REAL interesting fics with it tbh) or spinahawks?? adding hawks to a ship is like adding extra chili powder. makes it SPICY dramatic)
-nine/tomura don’t @ me once again. both kinda afo’s playthings, nine obviously was the test for tomura’s new upgrades...they both love their friends...That Scene in the Flower field </3 hmmm tragicships are fun.
-tomura/mirko. more enemies to lovers. big fan of her and bunnies. remember when he wore bunny ears in bnha smash. (ok its crack but. CUTE.)
-I’ve also seen shiganatsu and shigafuyu and I’m like. these are cute, but also Dabi’s reaction always makes me cry laugh. so good.
-MOST EVERYONE IN THE LOV IS LGBTQA+!!! heres my personal headcanons:
Toga: pan or bi (CANON BASICALLY)
Magne: transwoman (CANON BABEY) bi, leans towards men. (her crush on dabi in bnha smash... uwu content where)
Shuichi: gets sooooo flustered canonly, I think he’d go for the first person Who Hit On Him (I can see him being the target of those mean pranks where someone says ‘my friend likes you!!’ and the friend is like ‘eww!!’ :(((( ) he’s super hesitant for romance, lots of repressed stuff. gay but takes sooo long to realize it bc he thinks most women are conventionally pretty Aesthethically, feels obligated to Like Them, but has bad self esteem so never goes after them, then only likes (1) guy so hes like?? is this allowed?? is this allowed???? (HES LIKE. IN LOVE WITH SHIGARAKI)
Dabi: bi but rly hasn’t ever gotten to date anyone, so he’s actually more reserved about it and while he’ll tease, he absolutely is absent and kinda oblivious (again, I KNOWWWW bnha smash isnt canon, but. my god. when magne is hitting on him and he Just Doesnt Understand.) also hes ace
Tomura: doesn’t care. (just prob says ‘its whatever’) trans/nonbinary (i’M NOT PROJECTING, BUT. :’/) probably goes with like, the label queer if any but doesn’t care much for labels
Kurogiri: bi??? kind of??? I say kind of bc well, I hc U Know Whom as bi, I feel like thatd carry over but he’d be really avoidant to date anyone bc hes gotta Watch His Kid u know? this is gonna sound surprising but I think he’d be the type to be like ‘ok we can have a one night stand/fling BUT it cant get personal bc I have a Job to Do for my Son so don’t get up in your feelings’ and act a little coldly at first or very ..not personable... depending on who it was he’d prob turn around eventually, esp if that person valued his feelings/job :”)
Sako: that mans Not Straight. I hc him as gay and also trans :3c
Twice: Bi and HAS dated prob more than anyone else in the league imo, super comfortable with his sexuality and supportive of everyone else’s :)
ok that’s about all I can think of atm, come back in 5 minutes and my brain will refill with lov headcanons :3 thank you for asking!!
#bnha manga spoilers#bnha#sanchoyoanswersasks#league of villains#lov#i am NOt tagging all of them im so sorry its Too Much#but ask to tag#for triggers#if anyone needs them tagged#?#long post#word wall#bananaapplewaffle#im pretty amicable to most ships n stuff and love rare/crack ships lmao#also if anyone has their own headcanons#and wants to share#feel free!#love hearin them too

Magne Appreciation Post

I’ve been rewatching Season 3 of the Anime recently, and, huh, I never noticed how intelligent Magne is was as a character before. She’s basically the brains of the group (more-so than Compress even, he just has common sense)
In her very first appearance, she was the one who figured out that:
1) Based on his injuries, Deku must have fought & defeated Muscular.
In the sub, she was also taking Muscular’s personality into account, as she thinks of the two members who could “fight in a flashy power battle,” she decides that Muscular would have been the one to let it slip that the League is after Bakugo.
2) Therefore this kid is very dangerous and needs to be eliminated ASAP.

Next, while Bakugo was captured, she seemed to have the best grasp of the situation first. Bakugo has realized the league won’t seriously try to kill him because they are trying to convert him to their side and that he could take advantage of that. Magne is shown to be the first one to realize Bakugo’s train of thought is when she states,
You know exactly what your position is huh? (sub)
He must have figured out he’s important to us. (dub)
In terms of characterization, these minor details build up over time to establish her as one of the more intelligent members (relative to the fact that most of the other members are not being portrayed as particularly intelligent with regards to anything other than a few combat tricks).

Magne is not only aware of what goes on around her, she even had the nerve to object to AFO himself and warn him about Kurogiri’s state before AFO forced Kurogiri to use his quirk.
AFO has a quirk which allows him to force people, even unconscious people to use their quirks by sticking vine-looking things into their gut. Since one of the heroes had already tempered with Kurogiri’s insides Magne is rightfully very alarmed and warns AFO about the previous tempering,
Hey, wait! He was defeated and is now unconscious! (sub)
Be careful! One of the heroes messed with him and he’s unconscious! (dub)
It’s true that the Japanese language can seem vague and indirect when translated into English, so I’m siding with the dub on this one as being more accurate. Either way, Magne questioning why AFO doesn’t teleport the gang away himself on behalf of the defeated Kurogiri is also a touching detail and notably astute detail in the context of Kurogiri already being injured.

She also has a highly technical quirk which she is very skilled and creative with. She took control of the situation while Deku & the other kids were getting away with Bakugo.
I’ve talked about this scene in another post before but here it is again, Compress asked (dub dialogue):
Who can do distance!?! (fighting)
To which Spinner replied with,
Kurogiri & Dabi, but they're down!
Magne stepped forward and was like hey I have an idea (not her actual words but this is basically what happened). She creatively used her quirk to turn Spinner and Compress into two negative magnetic poles, releasing the energy while the two were very close so that the matching poles caused them to be propelled into opposite directions.
It would have worked too if Mount Lady hadn't come out of nowhere.
Even the anime-onlies probably already know about a certain spoiler regarding Magne, but I talk a bit about chapter 230 too after the keep reading link, so a spoiler alert is still effective for anime-onlies.
In the manga, before she gets killed, Magne was also the one controlling the conversation with the newcomer (Overhaul) along with Shiggy. She was essentially functioning like Shiggy’s right-hand-person during this scene. (Meanwhile, the other LOV members were conversing amongst themselves separately.)
So when Magne got killed by Overhaul, they really lost a valuable member.
They lost their muscle (Muscular), their brains (Magne), and one of their only distance fighters (Kurogiri)... Sheeeesh, The LOV has been in a really bad way ever since AFO got captured. Compress holds the last of their two collective brain cells and the only distance fighter they have left is a guy who literally gets burned alive by his own quirk if he uses it too much.
I’ve already talked about my thoughts on Magne’s treatment as a Trans character as much as I’m comfortable with in a previous post (which admittedly wasn’t much). In short, I think it was a major oversight to go with the kill-off-your-gays trope in a manga where character death wasn't even that common up to that point.
Lemmie just plug someone else’s post about Magne as a Trans character I reblogged a while back since they put their feelings about it in a much more eloquent way than I could: https://anivoicehero.tumblr.com/post/184862368429/magne

My oc!
// So I came up with her quirk in September 2019... //
// She’s very precious and I love her so you should read this. Also, I sometimes allude to her in non-romantic headcanons and drawings. //
// Feel free to send in random asks about her to help me organize and develop her character! //
♠General♠
Name: Kayoko Akaguro (I named this blog after her)
Alias: Asahinai
Age: 31
Gender: Female
Relations to Canon Characters: Stain’s twin sister
Occupation: Quirk Scientist (Studies the genetic and psychological factors associated with quirks. Stationed at UA to track the students’ progress and design training activities for them.)
♦Personality♦
With Strangers: Cold and closed off at first. She doesn’t normally say much to people she doesn’t know. When fighting, she respects intelligent opponents and those who “do wrong for the right reasons”, but will gladly kill people she deems as corrupt.
With Friends: Talkative and opinionated around people she knows. If there’s danger around, she can be protective and maybe a little yandere.
Goal: She really just wants to help villains work through their pasts and become better people. She acts as a sort of therapist for them, but lives in constant fear of her villain friends finding out where she works, or her work friends finding out who she hangs out with.
♥Quirk/Combat Information♥
Name: Pestilence
Information:
Basically, she’s a living petri dish.
She can selectively reproduce and transmit any virus/bacteria/fungus/protozoa she’s come in contact with in her life.
She can also choose to combine multiple pathogens to create a hybrid
She has less control over it when she’s anxious, so people around her get sick more often when she’s upset.
Because of this, she tries to produce a steady stock of “harmless” viruses, like rhinovirus and influenza, to override subconscious production of more deadly viruses.
She can also absorb bacteria and viruses from someone, stopping the illness from getting worse.
Sometimes passive-aggressively gives people colds when they annoy her. Never admits it.
Often gets blamed when people get sick, even if it wasn’t her fault.
Because a human body might not be able to handle so many lethal pathogens, she has many cockroach features.
She has sensitive antennae in place of ears and sensory receptors (dots under her eyes) instead of a nose.
Kayoko’s mandibles are pretty much only used to clean her antennae.
Her eyes work like to human eyes, but she doesn’t have tear ducts
She has wings, but she can’t fly well. There are slits cut in her jacket just in case she needs to use them to break her fall.
Drawbacks:
If she wants to transmit a bloodborne disease, she has to get an insect to bite her. She has little way of controlling who gets the disease or how far it spreads.
Since viruses and bacteria replace many of her cells, she’s pretty much dependent on them to live. This means that antibacterial substances are dangerous for her to ingest.
Her antennae are sensitive to the point that she becomes easily disoriented if exposed to strong synthetic scents, like those in soaps and perfumes.
She can’t control virus production that well when she’s stressed
Because it’s not really a combat quirk, she has to rely on weapons and skill to defend herself.
There’s a lot of stigma attached to pretty much everything about her quirk, so people instinctively don’t want to be around her.
Fight Style: Because she studies quirks, Kayoko can typically figure out the weaknesses of a quirk just by watching it in action once. She has quick reflexes and a durable exoskeleton so she rarely sustains devastating blows, but she has to rely on blades when she’s on the offensive, since she’s not very physically strong.
Weapons: She has an assortment of knives, and a katana she carries on her back. Her favorite weapon is a razor-edged fan that she keeps in her pocket.`
♣Background♣
I headcanon that everyone in Stain’s family has a blood quirk, so hers was a genetic mutation. Despite this, she grew up doing everything with her brother, until high school, when she decided to stay in school and get a job working with hero students, and he dropped out to become a vigilante. They stayed close until she accepted a job at UA and they decided to limit time spent with him for her safety. She visited him in Tartarus when he was arrested (under the guise of interrogation), and made the decision to try and befriend other villains to help them work through stuff.
◘Abstract◘
Trivia:
Enjoys baking cookies because it reminds her of time spent with her mother.
She has an extensive flower garden in her backyard.
Kayoko likes animals, but has never been able to keep a pet alive for long because of her quirk. She has several scorpions and tarantulas.
Like other cockroaches, Kayoko gets nervous in open spaces.
She may or may not rank her hero co-workers based on how happy she’d be if they went missing.
She sees Eraserhead as a friend, since he’s more tolerant of her differences than others.
Besides Stain, she’s closest to Spinner, so he knows the most about her situation (but she still doesn’t tell him everything).
She hasn’t told Overhaul about what her quirk actually does. She doesn’t intend to.
She has a smol little son
If you offend her brother, she will cut you
Has to wait 5 seconds before touching the food you dropped
Would 100% go to a fish market just to buy a live lobster and keep it as a pet.
Likes to wear fluffy sweaters when she’s not in her hero costume (she’s cold blooded, so she needs to stay warm).
