watching lotr for the first time in my life rn and all I have to say is this: Gandalf punching Denethor in the face and proceeding to knock him unconscious bc he was having a meltdown and was about to give up on Minas Tirith without a fight was the best thing that happened in all three movies.

I wonder if, after Pelennor Field, Merry was left with lasting pain/changes like Frodo was, since I remember it being mentioned that Frodo’s senses were heightened at one point. Though Merry wasn’t directly attacked by the Nazgûl and only came into contact with it (and by extension, I wonder if Eowyn is left with lasting changes since she WAS directly attacked by it)

Thinking about that one time I was telling my mom about some random LOTR meme I saw and she went on about how “yeah, a lot of people made jokes about Sam and Frodo because a lot of people saw them as gay” as if this would be new information to me, like she was telling me a story. NO SHIT MOM
