going to add that like, in murdering his father he also alienates the other half of his heritage to the point that now it's Eternally On Sight with him and them. Then! After! The other people in the murder polycule fuck off right as he starts grieving both his parents, hard, while also leaving him not only his now-tainted family home (they literally murdered his dad in his childhood bedroom!!!) as well as "a museum dedicated to the murder of [his] people" in the Belmont basement.
Then! Further! He goes kinda insane with his grief, makes dolls of his polycule, meets a pair of siblings who are down to clown except they aren't there here to steal genocide secrets and they sexually assault then try to murder him in his bed! So he emulates dear dead dad and impales them on stakes out front.
Things kinda look up when Greta forcibly picks him up by the scruff, tells him to get over himself your mom's people need you, then sends him off to fight monsters with a slap on the ass (figuratively, though I do not doubt she actually did that after the final battle at some point in the time skip before Trevor comes back).
But Then! Wait there's More! Trauma Train Has No Brakes! Some also-grieving-his-dead-loved-ones dumbass desecrates some random corpses to resurrects the souls of his parents and torments the fuck out of them by fusing them into a horrible amalgam that is both dead and alive and both people but only one person all at once, right in front of him! Then Dumbass Extraordinaire learns he got played by something calling itself Death who then goes on to (seemingly) brutally murder a member of the Murder Polycule after spewing some of the vilest insults ever put to animated media.
I mean, the seemingly murdered guy comes back a while later, and supposedly they live happily ever after, but did they really? Because like 300 years and a number of generations later he has to rock up to help out the however-many-great-grandchildren of his murder polycule kill another goddamn vampire (yes, the other half of his heritage that he was alienated from for having to kill his dad).
hell yeah, 10/10 character of all time, love him to bits
Obsessed with the idea of Castlevania from Alucard's perspective 'cause like. Imagine your dad is one of the most dangerous people on the planet but you keep forgetting about it because he's also hopelessly and pathetically devoted to your mother to the point of borderline neglecting you which kind of sucks but y'know whatever. And then your mom is brutally and publicly murdered so you head out for your dad's estate already presuming he's cooking up some pretty chill, sweet revenge, only to find out he's actually Actively Planning A Genocide against your own mother's people, of which you're also still technically a part of. So you try telling your dad that's actually Not Chill and he just fucking lunges at you, permanently scarring you and leaving you in a year long coma so now you have to kill your weirdo loser dad which sucks hard cuz y'know. You really don't have anyone else but ok.
But you're still in a coma so then you're woken up by a random mage girl who thinks you're Jesus Christ Reborn and a loser homeless boy who immediately (and homoerotically) tries to fight you and he actually manages to stab you in the gut but you think that's sexy and you ask them if they wanna help you kill your dad and now suddenly you're part of a murder polycule. So like. What I'm trying to say is 10/10 the character of all time

I'll look After You
Tumblr media
Pairings: Satoru Gojo x fem reader (reader is a mom)
Summary: You longed to hear from Satoru, After an epic night hooking up in a club bathroom, sure you'd been strangers, but he has your number, he made you feel so special... but... he never contacts you again. Ten months later, you have a beautiful baby named Reign, with those exact blue eyes. You never saw him again, couldn't even find him, so now, you are living your life as a single mom. Messy bun, dark circles, exhausted, you run into Satoru one day, and he sees her, his baby girl, and sees you struggling, he knows then, you're what's been missing in his life.
CW: Going to be sweet and emotional, Satoru is a freaking doll, misunderstanding led to him not knowing (nothing is kept from anyone on purpose) Fluffy long oneshot where Satoru falls in love with reader and his little girl. Gojo being a dad and being cute! Will have smut at the end as all my oneshots do lol, so MDNI, and flashbacks to the original bathroom smut (will list all the warnings when it comes out!)
Preview below! Comment to get added to the taglist when it's out!! (Soon!!) <3
Tumblr media
You often wondered about him, Satoru was his name.
As you look down at your baby girl, with her brilliant blue eyes while she’s cooing happily, giving you a gummy little grin, you wonder what he’d think if he knew about her. The random guy at the bar you gave your number to after hooking up in a bathroom, the guy who never called, the guy with no social media of which to speak. The guy you never, ever saw again.
Your baby’s father, the best thing that ever happened to you, surely, but also it was very difficult, being a single mom, you’d have to go back to work soon which you were dreading, spending sleepless nights up feeding, changing her. It had been a rough pregnancy, and a shocking one at that, people had questioned you over and over, some mentioned not having her.
But something in you knew you could do this, you could have this baby, you’re broke as fuck but she has all she needs, and she makes you so happy, but those eyes are unmistakable. No one has eyes like that, except her and her… well was he really her 'dad'? You wonder if he’d run ten million miles from you if he knew, or would he have been okay with it?
It’s odd that just a night of fun, alcohol and being on antibiotics created this amazing little girl, but you can’t be upset, not when she brightens your world. But you still ache at times, for her to have a dad, you hope you’re enough. You wonder about him though, the bright energetic man, the one that had made you feel more in one evening than anyone ever.
The last man you’d been with.
Yes, it’s been that long, Reign was two months old, so you’re damn near at a year, you say it’s because you’re so busy, but something deep in you knows that you felt something for him, deeper than the obvious physical. Something about how he looked at you, at how he laughed, at how he made you feel so special.
You assume it must have been some act, clearly, here you are, alone after all. You both only knew each other’s first names, it’s true, but he had that number. Maybe it wasn’t all you thought it was? Maybe he just was that sort of guy, the one that made women think they’re his everything with one of his kisses, maybe you were just too drunk, and he was too pretty.
You blink a bit, shaking the haze thoughts of him as you yawn a bit, exhausted from Reign keeping you up all night, her tummy had been hurting. You’re sleepily putting things in the cart, baby items, groceries, the essentials, you catch sight of yourself in the mirror above the produce, wincing then. You have a messy bun and are in pajamas, god help you if you ever wanted to meet a guy.
‘Oh hi, I have a baby with a random blue eyed dude from a bar, I’m broke as fuck, and I wear pajamas to the store. Wanna date?’
Yeah. That would go over well.
“It’s… it’s… you!?” You sleepily look up then, so exhausted you barely register the six foot three man for a moment, then suddenly it all hits.
He stares at you, those blue eyes, the eyes your baby has, wide now, his pouty pink lips dropped open. He’s just as gorgeous as you remember him, like it’s some dream, you feel weak then, chest rising and falling as your breaths come too quickly. He steps closer to you then, he hasn’t seen her yet, nestled in her little car seat on the cart, you’re panicking.
“Do you even remember me? Oh my god, that night my phone broke, and I had just got it, they couldn’t transfer the numbers! And I tried to look you up? But I couldn’t find you… and I never saw you… and then- fuck I’m rambling.” He laughs nervously, swiping his hand through his snowy locks. “Forgive me, please… what I mean to say is… Hi?”
“Hi…” Your baby whines then, and Satoru pauses, blinking and you move to the side then, he steps closer when Reign opens her eyes, grinning at him.
Satoru’s heart pounds in his chest, his entire world tilts on its axis, he was already so thrown off by seeing you again, the girl he hasn’t been able to stop thinking of, but now… he looks at you in shock, you look exhausted, but so beautiful, your eyes tear up then, he watches your shoulders slump, then he looks back at the baby, realization sinking in.
“She’s… is she… there’s no way…”
“She’s yours, I only hooked up with you for the past… year.” You manage to say softly, right in the middle of the fruit aisle, Satoru was finding out you have his baby.
“You did this alone?” He says then, blinking back emotions for a girl he barely knew, but who now has a part of him, a part he wants to know so badly suddenly, shocking him.
“I had no clue who you were, how to tell you, even if so, it’s not your responsibility okay? I take care of her just fine, I make it work.” Satoru’s heart breaks then, seeing how tired you are, seeing the endless baby items and cheap toilet paper, a cheap bottle of wine, is that all you get yourself?
You did this alone, you have his baby alone, altering your life while he’s living his just the same, partying with his best friends, working and living a luxurious life. Satoru was rich, and it’s clear his baby and his baby’s mother are struggling, and he’s here doing what? Could he have tried harder to find you!? Could he…
“We’re okay, you don’t have to worry. I’d never come for you for anything, I am happy being her mommy.” You say with a tired smile, reaching to touch her little chubby cheek, and Satoru has never seen anything so beautiful, the two of you.
He’s felt so empty for this year, is this what he was missing?
“Can I… please… can I know her?” He asks, gulping now, and you blink in shock, nodding quickly.
“I would love that.” You can’t stop your tears then, sniffling and shaking your head. “Please, let’s talk outside of the produce aisle?” You whisper, he nods quickly, unable to take his eyes off you, off his baby.
Coming sooon- based loosely on a request for @bunheadusa hehe, prob gonna be long I can't help myself.

Legend, Koholint.
Tumblr media
i’m not real
He’s a talented and experienced hero, someone who has faced countless challenges and saved everyone more than once. But the spark he once had has faded. His adventures stopped being exciting and began to feel like a burden.
The events of A Link to the Past, Oracle of Seasons, and Oracle of Ages left their mark on him, but what truly shook him was his visit to Koholint Island.
There were no kingdoms in danger, no imminent threats, no grand destiny awaiting him. For the first time, Link had no one to save. And the more time he spent on the island, the more attached he became to its people, especially to one person: Marin.
He fell in love with Her and with the peace of the island. But he couldn’t help to continue in his journey to uncover the mysteries of the place. The monsters that arrived with him seemed to be trying to stop him, and the warnings were clear: if he kept going, he would only bring misfortune. Yet Legend continued.
In the end, he discovered the truth. Everything he had lived through on Koholint was nothing more than a dream created by the Wind Fish. Waking the Wind Fish would erase the island and all its people.
And what else could he do? He completed his mission, because that’s what heroes do, right? But this time, it didn’t feel like a victory. Nothing about it made him feel like the hero he once was. Even if Koholint wasn’t real, for Link, it felt like sacrificing an entire village just to save himself.
And if it was all just a dream… why does losing Marin and all those people hurt so much?
Koholint was a reminder that not all adventures end with a "happily ever after."
——
I just need to talk about him, he has been living in my mind rent free, Im gonna post this later but it’s 4AM and I can’t sleep because IM THINKING ABOUT HIM, anyway, short comic about Legend, his thoughts and what he is going trough. And come on, he is a teenager, nothing hurts more at that age than a broken heart.

All I want for Christmas is You
Thanks for the prompt 😛 2.1k words
themes: Christmas? Idk
tw: smut
prompt: This is around now/ them being in a relationship. The wholes team is kinda sulky and grey after losing USC even thought it’s almost Christmas. They are all just chilling in the dorms, playing video games, chatting, and packing up for the break. Azzi decides to surprise Paige with an earlier Christmas gift. She calls her over and reveals her festive lingerie. Paige is obviously gooning and immediately shuts the door. (go all out with the scene I didn’t have any l ideas 💀)After a while they realize they went a little crazy and are defiantly gonna have to wash themselves up… and the sheets. “Paige why are you cleaning the sheets right before your leaving for home?”- a teammate asks.        -😛
The entire media conference after the game was brutal. Paige sat there and was professional but wanted nothing more than to wrap herself up in Azzi’s arms.
After 3 years of dating, they had been closer than ever. Azzi was the only one who knew how to make her feel better-way better- after a loss.
When they were back in the dorms, everyone was just chilling in the living room of the suite.
Paige sat with Ice and Kk playing fortnite trying to get her mind off of the loss.
Paige was one to take the loss personally so she would do everything she could to get her mind off of it.
“Hey do you know where Azzi is?” Paige asked as she went for another kill.
“She’s still with the trainer.” Ice replied shortly as she continued fiddling with the remote. Distracted, paige handed off the remote to sarah who happily took over for her.
Paige missed Azzi, bad, the longer they had been dating the more needy Paige had found herself for her.
Paige slumped onto the couch behind them facing Azzi’s bedroom door, and pulled out her phone.
—-
Me: wya I miss u😕
💗: I’m at the trainer I’ll be home soon Paigey
Me: 😐
💗: it will be worth the wait trust me I have a surprise for u
Ur gonna like it a lot trust me….
—-
It looked like the day was gonna be looking up.
30 minutes later, the front door opened and Paige immediately whipped her head around to make eyes with Azzi.
Paige immediately stood up and ran to Azzi wrapping her arms around her waist tightly and snuggling into the crook of her neck.
“Missed you so much baby.” She said as she breathed in the smell of her coconut shampoo and vanilla perfume.
Paige looked down and saw Azzi was carrying a black and pink bag. Her eyes perked up.
“Is that what I think it is?” Paige whispered teasingly while attaching her lips to Azzi’s neck making her giggle.
“Maybe… but you’re gonna have to wait a few minutes so I can get your present all set up.” Azzi responded moving her hand up to play with paige’s blonde hair that had fallen into her face as she clung to her.
“Present? What for?” Paige said eagerly trying to snoop in the bag.
“Paige! Be patient, no peaking. It’s just an early Christmas gift. Just stay here and I will call you in when I’m ready.” Azzi replied pulling away from paige and walking to the bedroom.
Paige smirked and walked over to the couch as she watched Azzi walk into the bedroom.
Paige spread her legs a little as Azzi turned around watching as Azzi blushed her eyes darting to her clothed center.
Azzi then put a finger to her lips and disappeared into her bedroom.
Paige felt her panties dampen in anticipation on what Azzi had planned for her.
The longer Azzi took the more needy she became.
10 long minutes later she heard Azzi call out.
“Paige can you come help me in here?” Paige bolted up and brusquely but nonchalantly (or so she thought) to Azzi’s room.
“Fuck guess I need to grab my headphone” ice said laughing as Paige shut Azzi’s door behind her. They weren’t exactly quiet.
Inside Azzi’s room paige walked in to the bed and felt two hands creep around the back of her head covering her eyes.
“Guess who” Azzi smirked behind her
“Hmmm I don’t know Q?” Paige said teasingly.
“Alright you’re not getting your present after that one.” Azzi laughed as paige hungrily turned around.
“Where is it?” Paige said as she looked at Azzi who was wearing her pink fluffy robe.
“Get on the bed and I’ll show you.” Azzi said dominantly giving her a shove so she would fall backwards.
Paige crawled up to the headboard and turned around so she was facing Azzi watching her in awe.
Azzi slowly reached for the tie of her robe and began to undo the knot.
Paige felt her breath hitch as she watched the pink fluffy robe slide down Azzi’s shoulders and drop onto the floor.
Paiges eyes scanned Azzi’s body in adoration.
She was weary a silver and red lingerie set that was lacy and completely mesh.
Paige thought her eyes were going to bulge out of her head at the sight of Azzi’s perky nipples poking through the thin shear fabric.
Suddenly paige found herself extremely needy for Azzi’s touch.
“You’re so beautiful Azzi.” Paige said her eyes continuing to stare at her body.
Azzi smirked as she climbed onto the bed and crawled towards Paige.
Azzi pushes her shoulders so she is now fully laying on her back on the bed.
Azzi sits up staring down on her, straddling her legs.
She leans forward and starts to press soft kisses along her jaw and neck.
“You’re the prettiest girl in the world.” Azzi says in between kisses as Paige lets out a soft sigh.
Azzi moves her hands downwards, lips still connected to Paige’s neck, and tugs on her t shirt.
Paige puts her hands up instinctively and Azzi slides it off her, immediately coming in contact with her soft nipples hardening under Azzi’s gaze.
“Wow no bra? Someone was ready for this, huh? Azzi laughs as she connects her hands and begins to massage Paige’s chest.
“Wanted to be ready for your surprise.” Paige whispers eagerly as she pulls Azzi’s face in to kiss her.
Paige’s hunger for Azzi’s skin is almost bubbling as she runs her tongue along Azzi’s bottom lip. She attaches her teeth and pulls watching Azzi lean towards her needily, letting out a breathy moan.
Azzi starts to grind her hips against Paige’s pelvis begging for friction.
Azzi leans back placing her hand on Paiges thighs as she arches her back and grinds down on Paige’s thighs.
A groan leaves paige’s mouth as she searches desperately for more contact.
She opens her eyes and watches in aw as Azzi gently grinds back and forth on her.
“Please.” Paige moans noticing the damp spot on Azzi’s panties.
“You need more baby?” Azzi says seductively as she begins to slide down paige’s pants continuing to ride her.
Paige lets out a yelp, biting her lip as Azzi presses her knee against paige’s clit.
“Oh god.” Paige groans as she throws her head back.
Azzi leans forward laying her chest on Paige as she continues to apply pressure on her pussy.
She starts to press kisses against her tits, sucking on her nipples and blowing as she starts to feel the slick accumulate in between them.
Paige moans loudly against Azzi’s chest.
“Shh! Paige you have to be quiet we don’t need anymore complaints.” Azzi teases as paige rolls her eyes.
“Haha very funny, if I remember right it was your screaming that had caroline running in thinking you were dying.” Paige replies still out of breath. Azzi returns the eyeroll and presses her hand against paige’s mouth to shut her up.
Paige spreads her legs wider giving Azzi more access to grind against her.
After what felt like hours of Azzi’s rubbing against her clit paige could barely keep herself together.
“Azzi please” she groaned “need to cum please.”
Azzi giggled to herself at her girlfriend’s fucked out state.
“Look at me baby.” Azzi said dominantly “I want you to watch me while you cum.”
Paiges eyes immediately popped open entranced by Azzi staring directly back at her.
Azzi’s eyes alone were enough to make her cum, and when Azzi started picking up the pace, rubbing herself against paige more aggressively, paige could no longer contain her cum, letting her juices spill out of her and onto the bed sheets as she moaned.
As Azzi continued to grind against her, riding out her high, paige began to rub her fingers teasingly over her panties watching as Azzi’s eyes rolled to the back of her head, already stimulated by her grinding against paige.
Paige watched Azzi intently focused on Azzi’s body.
As paige began to apply more pressure Azzi lifted her hips now hovering over paige’s stomach kneeling so her legs were seperated enough for paige to access her clit.
Azzi let out a raspy moan, and Paige pulled her panties to the side desperately needing to be in contact with her wetness.
Azzi’s warm heat coated her fingers as she rubbed back and forth against her pussy.
Azzi leaned over to stabilize herself as Paige stuffed two fingers inside her tight hole.
Paige began to thrust in and out of her stabilizing her by holding onto her waist.
As she felt Azzi’s legs shake she flipped them over so she was now on top.
With her new angle she pounded furiously into Azzi’s pussy, using her thumb to rub at her clit.
Azzi continued to moan loudly pulling at paige’s hair, thrusting her hips so paige’s fingers would dig deeper in her core.
Paiges fingers plunging into her gummy walls caused Azzi to shake with pleasure.
Hearing Azzi’s frustrated moans as she tried to rub herself against paige’s fingers.
Paige paused, watching as Azzi whimpered and squirmed deserpeate for her fingers to restart their pounding.
Azzi started trying to fuck herself on Paige’s fingers, desperate to reach her climax.
Just as Azzi let out another needy moan, paige plunged another finger in, pounding 3 in and out of her.
Paige uses her other hand to rub her clit, before pressing gently on her lower stomach.
With that Azzi feels the band in her stomach snap, and feels her cum spill out of her joining paige’s on the sheets
They go back and forth pleasing each other until they are just a heap of moans unable to catch their breath.
The sheets are soaked with sweat and their cum.
“Guess we may have over done it.” Azzi laughed her head laying in the sheets.
“Nahh don’t know what you’re talking about.” Paige replied cheekily.
They lay there nuzzled together for a little longer but eventually Azzi could no longer stand it.
“Alright I gotta shower and you have got to wash these sheets like this is just embarrassing I feel like I wet the bed.” Azzi huffed trying to sit up with Paige’s lengthy body weighing her down.
“I mean you kinda did.” Paige said trying to hide her giggle as Azzi glared at her and hitting her over the head with a pillow.
“Says you!” She shot back as she crawled out of paige’s grasp and stood up.
“We are leaving tomorrow morning early, if you don’t wash the sheets now they will be worse when we get back.” Azzi said as paige fell back onto the bed.
“Ughhhh” she whined, “I know I know I have to clean them. But I literally just did like 2 days ago… “ paige whined as she sat back up and grabbed Azzi’s hand.
“I don’t like when you shower without me.” Paige pouted fluttering her eyelashes teasingly.
Azzi shoved her face with her hand laughing, “you’re such a freak paige oh my god.” She pauses for a minute. “If you go clean the sheets we will see what happens.” Azzi says shrugging leaving the room so paige can ponder that.
Paige makes the executive decision it would be a good idea to see where things that night might lead with Azzi so she strips the bed and makes a pile to bring to the laundry.
Paige is fantasizeing about all the things Azzi might have planned since she is being a “good girl” and cleaning the sheets like Azzi asked her, when she hears a knock.
“Back so soon” Paige teases assuming Azzi couldn’t resist her… it was Aubrey.
“Uhm sorry, not who you were hoping, I just had a quick-“ Aubrey looks down at paige piling her sheets into her hamper, “you know what I’m gonna just ask Ice it’s fine.” She trials off. “Why are you washing your sheets paige?” She teases knowing exactly what it means.
“What do you mean? I can’t wash my sheets now?” Paige replied confused.
“You just changed them like two days ago? And we are leaving for vacation it’s not like you will be sleeping on them anytime soon.”
Paige smirked, “well they got dirty quick I guess.”
Aubrey stares at her a little confused then Azzi walks in the room and the pieces click.
Her eyes widen, “y’all are nasty” Aubrey says laughing running out of the room, likely to go tell Ice and Kk.
Azzi looks at Paige confused.
“What did I do?” Azzi says softly her big eyes staring at Paige, and paige can’t help but melt under her adorable eyes.
“She’s just jealous baby don’t worry.” paige says pulling her into a hug and rubbing her hand on her back.

counterpoint: these relationships continue to perfectly serve as parallels to the conflict of the two cities, and i mean that in a derogatory way.
cait hits vi multiple times, abandons her to addiction and despair, and then speedruns an, "i'm sowwy," shallow 'redemption arc' by doing her one (1) favour and ignoring her carceral trauma, and it's all good and they kiss and make up and live happily ever after (in cait's 1%er mansion where vi drinks alone and sings to herself and cait holds all the power and withholds things from vi for her own good but it's fine! it's fine).
vi and jinx are at each other's throats until jinx feels sorry for vi and decides to help her out, and then they are forced to speedrun a reconciliation by a big scary monster that turned out to be the husk of an interesting character that existed in s1.
timebomb were once friends 🥺 but now they're enemies 😡 because of reasons we'll just brush under the rug this season 🤷‍♂️ and jinx has committed violence upon violence, inflicted loss upon loss upon ekko 👻, but you see ‼ ekko just has to see the Real Powder for who she is 🥺 and he will forgive her 😭 because he understands they can build a better future together 🥰 and she will join forces with him 😻 and everyone will accept this 🤗 this will not involve them ever actually discussing any of their past hurts or problems or grievances onscreen.
jayce forgot that viktor was, like. dying of pollutionitis. viktor just needed to get over his personal problems and then he would have stopped wanting to change the system and would have just been chill.
see? perfect analogies for s2's handling of the relationship between piltover and zaun.
Contrary to popular belief, I don't think the problems in this season lies in the romantic relationships between the characters. I think it would have benefitted it more actually, if they had the time to explore said relationships.
What made season one of arcane so compelling is how these relationships (caitvi, vi and jinx, timebomb, jayvik etc.) are literal parallels to the plot: the conflict of the two cities.

I am a slut for Hurt/comfort first “I love you” 🥺🫶🏼
Hope you’re having a fantastic day 🥰
Sorry this took FOREVER, but I hope you like it!
(I’ll post on AO3 after I've had some sleep)
----
"You could always come along. Half naked men are relevant to your interests these days." Eddie teased and Buck rolled his eyes.
"There is only one man I'm interested in, and I prefer him completely naked." he grinned at Tommy who leaned over the table to kiss him.
"Likewise."
"Can someone please remind me why I'm friends with you two again?" Eddie complained.
The three of them were sat at Buck's kitchen table, grabbing a bite to eat together before Eddie and Tommy were going to another fight in Vegas.
"I saved your life." Buck reminded him around a bite of food.
"I've saved your life." Eddie shot back.
"Free babysitting."
"Well with Chris still in El Paso, I don't think I'm going to be asking for your services in that department any time soon. If ever again..."
"Chris will come around." Tommy started sincerely, but there was a grin tugging at the corners of his lips. "And I get you free tickets to fights and free helicopter flights to exclusive fights in Vegas and back. Which you could be more grateful for."
"I'm beginning to wonder if that means getting all the details on your sex life is really worth it."
"Hey, you don't have to come. I can always go with Evan and get my buddy to set us up with a nice hotel room on the strip." Tommy said turning to Buck. "The two of us, a king size bed, maybe a jacuzzi... Not leaving the room for an entire weekend..."
"And then you'll complain about about having missed the fight of the century when we get back." Buck reminded him but happily let Tommy kiss him.
"There will be other fights. A weekend in Vegas with you sounds pretty good. We could hit up the casinos. I'm pretty good at poker."
"I beat you the other day." Buck smirked.
"That was intentional." Tommy said with a wink.
"Why would you let him win?" Eddie asked, downing the last of his beer. "Why would you play with him in the first place? Mister over competitive."
"Hey!" Buck protested while Tommy just shrugged.
"I had my reasons."
Eddie narrowed his eyes.
"This is another sex thing, isn't it?" he held up his hands. "No, don't answer that. I don't want to know."
Tommy laughed and finished the last of his food.
"We should get going soon. We need to still drive over to Harbor from here."
Eddie nodded.
"But no more details about your sex life or you can go alone."
"Noted." Tommy said, getting up and putting their dirty dishes in the sink. "Don't bother with those ok? We can do them together tomorrow." he told Buck.
"Sure. You coming back here after then?"
Tommy smiled.
"If you want me to."
Buck stood up and wrapped his arms around Tommy's neck.
"I want you to. I don't care how late it gets, I want you here. And you better wake me up if I'm asleep."
"I'm not making any promises in that department. But I'll promise I'll be there when you wake up. Deal?"
Buck pretended to think it over.
"I guess I can live with that." he joked and the two of them shared another kiss, getting lost in the moment until Eddie loudly cleared his throat.
"Come on Tomás, we have a flight to catch."
Tommy reluctantly stepped out of Buck's embrace.
"The flight is me." he glanced at his watch. "But yeah we should get going." he shrugged on his jacket, grabbed his phone and keys, and with one more quick kiss and a promise to see Buck later, he followed Eddie out the door.
Buck sighed.
As much as he liked the fact that his boyfriend and best friend got on so well, he wouldn't have exactly hated it to spend his night off with said boyfriend instead of watching TV on his own.
He'd only known Tommy for a couple of months but it was getting harder and harder to remember what his life was like without him in it. He didn't particularly want to either.
Just thinking about Tommy made him smile like a teenager with a crush, but lately he was starting to feel like this thing between them was getting more serious. A deeper connection. Not just sex or romantic dates but also being content to just exist in each other's space.
Like spending the night watching the latest movie Tommy insisted he had to watch or trying out a new recipe with Tommy sitting at his kitchen table, keeping him company and being his guinea pig.
It felt a lot like love.
He was pretty sure Tommy felt the same, even if they hadn't actually said it yet.
He really wanted to though, but he was still waiting for that perfect moment. Maybe he'd tell him when they woke up together in the morning.
He smiled to himself as he scrolled through his DVR to find the documentary on bees he'd recorded earlier that week and got comfortable on the sofa as he hit play.
The documentary was interesting enough but still his mind kept wandering. He tried to remember the names of the guys fighting so he could check the score, when his phone suddenly rang in his hand.
He frowned at the screen, not recognising the number. He debated letting it go to voicemail but his curiosity got the better of him.
"Hello?"
"Hello, is this Evan Buckley?"
"Yes, this is Evan Buckley... Who is this?"
"My name is Laura Greenwood, I'm a nurse at Cedars-Sinai Medical Centre, and I'm calling you on behalf of Edmundo Diaz. I have you listed as his emergency contact, is that correct?"
"Yes, yes that is correct. What's going on? Is Eddie in hospital?"
"Mister Diaz has just been brought in following a car accident."
"A what?! Is he ok?"
"His injuries are non life threatening as far as I've been told." the nurse told him in a practised calm voice. "Are you able to come to the hospital?"
"Uh yes, yes I'm on my way." Buck told her, rushing around his loft to grab his stuff and put his shoes on. "Wait... Was there anyone else brought in with him? Is there a Thomas Kinard with him? Was he admitted too?"
"I'm afraid I can't tell you that sir. When you get here you can go straight to the ER and they'll take you to see mister Diaz. Perhaps he will be able to tell you more about any other passengers involved in the accident."
The drive to the hospital was a blur. Eddie was in a car accident... but he'd been in a car with Tommy. They'd taken his truck. So what did that mean for Tommy? Had someone crashed into them? Was Tommy alright? Was he even still alive?
He all but threw his Jeep in the first available parking space he came across, and only just remembered to take the keys out of the ignition and lock it.
The hospital was outside the 118's jurisdiction, so he wasn't as familiar with it as some of the others in the city, but he found the ER with ease after making himself follow the signs.
"But was there a Thomas Kinard brought in too?" he tried with the nurse who was taking him to see Eddie.
"Are you next of kin?"
"He's my boyfriend."
The nurse nodded.
"And are you his emergency contact as well? Or listed as next of kin anywhere?"
"I... I'm... No... We've only been together a couple of months... we haven't had that conversation yet."
The nurse gave him a sympathetic look and Buck knew what she was about to say.
"I'm very sorry, but I can't give you any information if you're not next of kin."
"Right... yeah... I understand..."
"If you know who his emergency contact is, they can update you... or tell us it's ok to tell you."
"C-can... I know you're not allowed to give me any details but... is he here? Is he alive?" Buck tried. "Please. I just need to know he's alive."
The nurse looked at him for a minute, weighing her options, then started typing on a tablet.
"Kinard? K-I-N-A-R-D?"
"That's right."
"He's here." She confirmed. "He's alive. They're working on him. That's all I can tell you, I'm sorry." She started walking again, and Buck had to jog a few steps to catch up with her when his brain had managed to process the information she'd given him.
The nurse pulled open a curtain around a bed and Eddie looked up from the magazine he was flicking through. He looked a little banged up but mostly in one piece.
"Mister Diaz, there's someone here to see you." she stepped aside and Buck made himself walk up to the bed and greet his best friend.
"What happened?" he asked after the nurse had left them to it.
"We got t-boned by some drunk idiot in an expensive sports car." Eddie told him. "Tommy got the worst of it. Have you seen him yet? I figured he'd be higher on your list of priorities."
Buck bit his lip. He was happy to see his best friend was ok, but he couldn't help but worry about his boyfriend.
"They won't let me see him. I'm not family, I'm not his emergency contact, I'm nothing. They called me because of you... All that nurse told me is that he's alive."
Eddie gave him a sympathetic look.
"Do you know who his emergency contact is? Does he have family in LA? Siblings?"
"He was born in LA. His dad still lives in the house he grew up in... But they hate each other."
"Ok so not his dad then."
Buck shook his head.
"He also has a brother but I don't even know his name." he rubbed a hand over his face. "I don't even know the name of my boyfriend's brother." he said dejected. "What if he dies? I don't know his family, I've only met a few of his work friends at Harbor, and I don't know any of his friends outside of work. Nobody would even let me know when the funeral is. I don't even know if he would want a funeral. I barely know my own boyfriend!"
He was spiralling and well on his way to a panic attack.
"Hey, hey, calm down." Eddie did his best to snap him out of it by squeezing his shoulder and making him look at him. "Tommy is not going to die ok? He's the one that called 911 after the accident. He had a head wound and they had to cut him out of the car because his leg got pinned. But he was bitching about his truck getting ruined and how it would take him ages to get it back in working order so he was definitely conscious when they got him out. "
Buck made himself take a few deep breaths to compose himself. Tommy worrying about his car was good. That meant he was awake and conscious enough to know what was happening.
"What kind of head wound? Was it bad?"
"Not as bad as it could have been." Eddie told him after a beat and Buck knew he was choosing his words carefully so he wouldn't freak him out. A move straight from the LAFD handbook.
"What does that even mean? There was no brain matter on the airbag?"
Eddie rolled his eyes at his friend's dramatics.
"The idiot hit Tommy's side pretty hard. Almost flipped us over. We got knocked around the car pretty bad and he hit his head on... something. I don't know, it all happened really fast."
Buck nodded and just about managed to stop himself from shaking Eddie to give him more details.
"I think I passed out for a few minutes... because the next thing I remember is Tommy asking for my phone, well... more like demanding, because he couldn't find his." Eddie continued, scrunching up his face trying to remember more details. "I think he used my phone to call 911... but I don't know what happened to it." He looked around. "They haven't given me my stuff yet."
"I'll go find someone..." Buck moved to stand up but Eddie stopped him.
"The phone can wait. We need to figure out what we're going to do about Tommy."
"What do you mean what we're going to do about Tommy? I'm not family, they won't let me see him."
"I know... but maybe we can figure out a way around that. That nurse from before likes me... maybe if I flirt with her a little she'll tell me what room he's in? Or how he's doing?"
"Just how hard did you hit your head in the crash? I think you have a concussion. That's never going to work."
"Hey, I'm charming and sexy! I'm hot!"
"I've seen you puking up your guts after bad sushi and hungover and praying in Spanish on my bathroom floor after you decided to mix beer and tequila. You are neither charming or sexy."
"Well you try it then! Or maybe one of the male nurses will be easier to persuade."
"I'm not going to flirt with a guy to get info on my boyfriend!" Buck said exasperated and stood up. "I'm just going to calmly talk to the nurses again and explain the situation... maybe they can tell me who his emergency contact is. Maybe it's his brother and I can introduce myself and he can tell me how Tommy is doing."
Eddie mumbled something under his breath but Buck ignored him and went in search for someone who could tell him more about Tommy.
He was almost at the nurses station when he heard a familiar name.
"I'm here for Thomas Kinard. I got a call he was in an accident."
"Are you family?"
"I might as well be." Buck had a clear view of the man now but he didn't recognise him. "I'm his emergency contact. You called me."
"Name?"
"Sal Deluca. Salvatore."
The nurse typed something on her computer.
"He was in a car accident. Suspected fractured pelvis, head laceration, suspected broken ribs and open tibia fracture, as well as suspected ruptured spleen. He's in surgery now." She told the man. "You can take a seat here and someone will come update you when they can."
The man looked like he wanted to argue with the nurse but apparently decided it wasn't worth it and just sat down on a nearby chair and took his phone out of his pocket. He tapped the screen and put the phone up to his ear.
"Hey, it's me." he paused to listen. "No I haven't seen him yet. He's in surgery. Pretty banged up. He's gonna need help when he gets out. We can't let him go back to his place on his own." Another pause. "I don't know, Gina." A slight irritation in his voice. "We'll figure it out when the time comes." another pause and a sigh. "Yeah. I'll call you when I know more. Yeah. Love you too. Bye."
Buck watched him put his phone away and sit back in the chair. It was now or never. He took a deep breath and walked up to the man.
"Hi... uhm... you don't know me but...-"
"Look, man, let me stop you there. If you're the one that hit my buddy and want to clear your conscience now or something, don't bother, I'm not interested. He'll probably forgive you when he's awake, because he's an idiot like that, but don't come to me with that shit."
"What? No. Tha-that's not... I'm Evan Buckley. Tommy is my boyfriend."
The man sat up.
"You're Evan?"
"Yes... Has Tommy mentioned me?"
"Yeah. Hasn't stopped talking about you for the past few months. I feel like I know you better than my own wife by now."
"Oh... I uh... h-he hasn't told me a-about you..." Buck stammered.
"Of course not." The man rolled his eyes. "We've been friends for over 20 years, he's my both daughters' godfather, but he won't tell his new boyfriend about me." he continued sarcastically. "I guess he just wanted to make sure you're not an asshole like the last idiot he dated. Andrew really fucked him up."
"Y-yeah..." Buck agreed, not wanting to let on he didn't have a clue who Andrew was.
The man stood up and offered Buck his hand.
"I'm Sal. Were you in there with him?"
"No, my best friend was. They were going to Vegas to watch a fight." Buck explained and filled him in on the details.
Sal turned out to be easy enough to talk to once he'd decided Buck was alright, and the two of them talked about Tommy, the job, the 118, and the grudge Sal still held against Bobby.
After some time, a tired looking doctor came to update them on Tommy's condition and a nurse took them up to the floor so they could see him.
"One visitor at a time." she warned them.
"You go first." Buck told Sal who shook his head and pushed him towards the door.
"He's not going to want to see me, trust me. You go sit with him, I'll go update my wife."
Buck wanted to protest but Sal was already walking away and tapping his phone screen. He looked through the little window in the door and saw Tommy, looking way too small and frail for a man his size.
His leg was in a cast and there were various bandages around his head and body. He glanced at the monitor beside the bed and watched the lines move with Tommy's heartbeat before gently opening the door and going in.
He grabbed the chair from the corner of the room and sat down as close to the bed he could get. He watched Tommy's chest rise and fall with each breath and carefully took his hand in his.
"Hey... You scared the shit out of me..." he said softly. "I got the call about Eddie and I jumped in my car right away... And Eddie's fine, he'll be alright... But they wouldn't tell me anything about you. I didn't even know if you were alive." He brought Tommy's hand to his lips and brushed a kiss over the knuckles. "When you get out of here, we need to talk." he said and winced at how it sounded. "Not... not like that. I'm not breaking up with you. I just... our jobs are dangerous you know. And next time you get injured on the job... or just... anything happens to you... I want to know what happened. I want to be able to come see you without Eddie thinking he can flirt with a nurse and convince her to let me." He laughed a little. "You know that would never have worked."
The next few hours went by in a blur. Tommy woke up a few times but was way too out of it to have anything resembling a conversation, Sal dipped in and out of the room, and even Eddie had come by to check on Tommy.
The hours turned into days, and the days turned into a week. Tommy's condition had improved enough for him to be moved onto a regular ward and for the dose of the heavy painkillers to be lowered so he was awake for longer periods of time and more aware of what was happening around him.
And also getting more and more annoyed by the fact he couldn't move around as freely as he'd like, practically begging the nurses to get him a pair of crutches even if he was nowhere near well enough for that.
"Hey there sleeping beauty, welcome back to the land of the living. If you wanted to see me that badly, you could have just picked up the phone, you know? You didn't have to crash your car." Sal joked when he walked back into Tommy's room after updating his wife and checking in at work on day 8.
"You know me, always had a flair for the dramatic." Tommy replied and gave him a tired smile. "How are the girls? Evan said you went to call Gina."
"They're fine. Torey wants to come see her uncle T but we talked her down to facetime when you're feeling better."
"Yeah... when these bruises clear up... and the stitches come out. Or can be covered up somehow. I don't want to scare her." Tommy said, gesturing to his head. He was looking a whole lot better than when he'd first been brought in but the bruises were only just starting to fade.
"She's seen you first thing in the morning before you've had your coffee, she can handle a couple of bruises."
Buck sat back and let the two of them talk. He'd gotten to know Sal a little over the past week or so and he liked the guy. Even if he was still kind of intimidated by him.
But it was clear he cared about Tommy and Buck was happy Tommy had a best friend like him. Someone who would drop everything to be there for him. Someone who would always have his back.
Though it was also frustrating that between Sal, the hospital staff, Tommy's crew from Harbor, and various members of the 118, Buck had barely had a moment alone with him.
And he didn't need an audience for what he wanted to tell him.
"I promised Torey I'd take her up to see the lights."
"So save it for her next birthday." Sal argued and Buck realised he'd zoned out and didn't have a clue what they were talking about. "Or wait until she turns 21 and take her to Vegas."
"Oh sure. 'happy birthday sweetheart, you'll get your present in 11 years' I'm sure she'll understand." Tommy said sarcastically and Sal laughed.
"You know she'll remember. And then Bella will want to go too when she turns 21. So you better make sure you get back in that chopper so you can take my girls to Vegas when they're old enough."
Tommy groaned.
"When Isabella is 21, I'll be..." he shook his head. "I don't want to think about that."
Sal sat back in his chair.
"They grow up way too fast." he settled on. "Feels like only yesterday that she couldn't even wrap her little hand all the way around my finger, and now she's talking about inviting boys to her birthday party."
Buck did his best to focus on the conversation, even if he didn't know Sal's family, but he kept zoning out and his eyelids were getting heavy. He hadn't exactly had a good night's sleep at Tommy's bedside, and now the worst seemed to be behind them, the lack of sleep was starting to catch up to him.
"Evan." someone squeezed his hand. "Evan, hey, wake up."
"Wha-what?" he blinked the sleep from his eyes and sat up straighter. "I'm here, I'm awake. I'm here. Are you ok?" he searched Tommy's face for any sign of discomfort or even pain."
"I'm ok. But you just fell asleep sitting up. Why don't you go home to get some rest. in an actual bed."
Buck frowned.
"I'm not leaving you. I'm fine. I just... closed my eyes for a second. I'm fine now, I promise."
"You sound like my daughter when she doesn't want to go to bed." Sal cut in. "She's 8. And I usually pick her up and throw her over my shoulder and take her to bed anyway. So don't try me, Buckley."
Tommy laughed a little but then turned serious.
"Evan, you're exhausted. Why don't you call Howie to take you home. Just for a couple of hours." he pleaded. "I've got Sal here to keep me company, and all these wires stuck to me so they can make sure I'm alright... I'm ok now, I promise. It's your turn to rest now."
"I'm fine." Buck insisted. "I'll get a coffee from the machine later. I'm fine."
"Evan..."
"Tommy, I love you, but please stop trying to get me to leave. I'm not leaving until you are." Buck told him, and brushed a kiss over Tommy's knuckles to emphasise his point.
"Ev... I... You... Did you... mean... that...?"
"I'm not leaving you."
"Not that... the... other thing..."
"The other thing?" Buck mumbled and tried to replay the last part of their conversation in his mind. Tommy, I love you. "Oh... t-that... I..."
"It's ok. You don't have to explain. You're exhausted, I get it. It's fine." Tommy rambled.
"No, I... I... did.. do... mean it. I just... didn't... realise?"
"I'm going to... go buy some cigarettes." Sal said and got up, grabbing his jacket from the back of the chair.
"You don't smoke." Tommy pointed out.
"I'll start." Sal replied and left the room, closing the door behind him and leaving the two men alone.
"Are you cold? Do you want me to fluff up your pillow? Do you want some water? Do you want me to go so you can sleep?" Buck rambled, fussing with Tommy's blanket.
"Evan... tell me... did you mean it? It's fine if you didn't. I can handle it. Just tell me. It's alright. We're just having fun, right? You didn't sign up for all of this. It's fine. You can just go. I'll call you when I'm better. Maybe we can go to that club you found online the other day. I mean, it's gonna be a while before I can dance again but... -"
"Tommy!" Buck interrupted. "Shut up. Please." he carefully sat down on the bed next to Tommy's hip and put his hand on his uninjured leg. "I did mean it. I just... didn't mean to just blurt it out like that. I wanted to make it romantic. Maybe a candlelit meal at home. Some music playing in the background, maybe a nice glass of wine... and then I'd take your hand..." he paused to do just that. "And I'd look into your eyes. And I'd tell you that these past few months have been amazing, That you have been amazing. That you make me happier than I ever thought I could be." he carefully leaned in to press a kiss to Tommy's lips. "And then I'd tell you I love you. I love you so much. And then in a perfect world, you'd say it back and we'd have the best night of our lives."
Tommy smiled.
"That sounds amazing. And I love you too."
"You do?"
"Yeah. It's kind of scary... I've never felt this way about anyone before... and definitely not this quickly... but yeah, yes I do love you Evan."
Buck leaned in for another kiss.
"I really wish we could do more right now. I wish I could hold you." he gently ran his hand up and down Tommy's good arm.
"I know... Me too."
"When you get out of here, I'm going to cook for you. All of your favourite foods. I even found a recipe for spumoni online and I'm going to make it for you." Buck promised. "It probably won't be as good as your grandma's, though, but I’ll settle for second place." he joked.
"I'm sure I'll love it. Because I love you."
"I love you too." Buck replied. "And I could really get used to hearing you say that."
"Good thing I'm planning on saying it a lot then."

I shouldn’t get so worked up about this because it’s something that was written in 2003 but it’s been 21 years and people still praise it so. Elphaba’s ending in the musical is a disservice to her character.
Before I go on with this I have to say I obviously love musical!elphie with all my heart even in act 2 but I think the writing for her during the entirety of it was AWFUL and out of character and I need to sit down with Winnie holzman and Stephen Schwartz and ask them what was up wirh that.
Anyways, the big moment of the whole show is defying gravity. It is a big moment to watch. It is a big moment for the story. It is a big moment for Elphaba. Dg is the moment on the story where she decides that she has to give up her desire of being liked and accepted for the sake of doing the greater good. It is not an easy choice to make, but it’s one that she knows she’s gonna have to own and live by for the rest of her life.
And then comes Wonderful (which I love as a song btw), where Elphaba more or less goes “Geez, I guess fighting against fascism does get pretty tiring? Doesn’t it? I will give up on my fight and join the fascist wizard then! Because I want to be liked and accepted. It’s almost like I didn’t give all of that up for the sake of doing the right thing five years ago!” And only comes back to her senses once it gets personal to her again with Dr Dillamond.
Then, comes the second offender, which is arguably the least worse one but still one that bothers me anyways. The cornfield scene. Not the fighting with Glinda over fiyero, because as much as I hate it, it’s not the worst thing in the world, I guess. It’s the fact that she stands there and lets her new boytoy point a GUN at Glinda and does nothing??? I get they were fighting but that’s still her best friend??? WHY WOULD SHE JUST STAND THERE???
And the worst of all: the end. The fact that she dedicated YEARS to the cause and trying to seek justice for the Animals only to go “Gee whiz I guess I’ve done my time now! I guess now I should just surrender and run away with fiyero and have my happily ever after!” WHY. WOULD. SHE. EVER. DO. THAT.
The beginning of that scene being her begging Chistery to at least try to continue speaking is probably what makes it all worse to me like.. you can see how much she cares. You can see why she’s so dedicated to her cause. And then two minutes later suddenly she’s changed her mind and gives up? To run away with FIYERO?
And I find that argument that she only did that because she somehow knew Glinda would take over so stupid. Glinda hadn’t defeated the wizard yet. She only managed to after Elphaba’s “death” because she realized Elphaba was his daughter. There was no way for Elphaba to know what was actually going to happen once she was gone.
And those shippers will insist that’s a good ending and a happily ever after and that he gets her more than anyone else THE JOKES WRITE THEMSELVES

I seriously need someone to SWEAR TO ME ON THEIR LIFE that shifting is real because I’m about to lose my sanity here.
I’ve been trying for ducking YEARS (5 years of this sh*t). And don’t get me wrong, it’s been fun and all, I love all the shifting community, and I also get that, as many other say “if you question its existence then you’ll never shift 🙄” but for ducking sake Martha IM TRYING. Like it’s hard to fully believe and comprehend that there’s a reality where that random fictional character I fell in love with when I was fifteen and I are living happily ever after. So, seriously, and please, PLEASE, someone just swear to me on their mother that it is real (and also I would appreciate if you told me how you shifted).
I really hope someone read this 😭 (this is a call for help).

yes
absolutely
it has this beat of a fanfiction which was written on a basis of something incredibly great and complex, and the author tries to give it justice, but ends up only mucking things up terribly and just coming up midly cringe. "love solved everything; and then all enemies shook hands and lived happily ever after"
it also has a beat of a fanfiction which has a romance plotline and a general plotline, but the author doesn't know how to mesh them both together properly, so they just write the main couple getting together and apart at first available reason without any gradients whatsoever.
then the main couple comes together for the last time, for good now, and you know it's "for good" because they have an unnecessary and very graphic smut scene.
Arcane Season 2 is like that popular fanfic you open that has a cool concept and a nice idea but something about it (the writing) feels so off (the characters) that even though you read it to the end you sit there wondering what the fuck that was and why it's so popular

Excessive Force : Tom Ludlow x Fem Nurse Reader (COLLAB W/ THE INCREDIBLE @johnwickb1tsch) - Chapter Map Twenty-Nine
Tumblr media
TW: violence and harassment against women, police brutality, nsfw, pda
The week goes on, with no official news from the LAPD about your break in. Tom assures you it’s no great surprise. He’s running his own inquiries, and if you’ve lost your faith in the system, you believe in him. You clean up your apartment a little bit, and find a little optimism in the fact that this hotel room actually has bigger windows for your plants.
Tom babies them, handling the delicate stems tenderly, watching and mimicking the soft way you arrange their leaves, carrying the pots as gently as he carries you. He catches you watching this with abject fascination and admiration, and grins as you look away, flushing, caught in the act of falling more in love with him.
Needless to say, you are surprised when Tom asks you to go to a party on Friday. He’s laying on your tummy, using it as a pillow while you both giggle at a funny movie and mindlessly shove chocolate and popcorn into your faces.
“It’s for my boss to meet you,” he says, “for the case.”
“What do you mean?” you ask, not quite understanding.
“Sometimes…we get jaded as cops. We shovel a lot of shit. But putting a face to a problem…it helps it get solved, sometimes.”
“Oh. Ok.” You understand all too well, how you start to guard yourself when you work an emotionally taxing job involving people at their worst, their most vulnerable. It does all start to run together, after a while. Maybe it shouldn’t, but it’s the human brain’s way of defending itself from the overload.
“I think…” he goes on, playing with your hair. “It might help, if he sees what you mean to me. You’re the only girl I’ve been serious about, since…my wife.”
You close your eyes at hearing that, as if you weren’t already head over heels enough for this man. All the love you feel for him stews with guilt for the thing you’re going to have to do on Saturday, and you can’t stop the welling of tears in the corners of your eyes. “Ok,” you agree again, somehow speaking past the lump in your throat. “We gotta put on a show or something?”
Tom grins wickedly down at you, his light touch making its way down to trace the neckline of your shirt. It soothes you, somehow, makes the gnawing demon inside quiet down, even if just for a little while. It’s going to be ok, you tell yourself, even if deep down you know you’re lying.
“Nah, baby. All we gotta do is show up. The rest is obvious.” You take his paw of a hand, kissing his palm before holding it over your heart.
It’s going to be ok, you tell yourself again. You’re going to get through this shitstorm, and then the two of you are going to live happily ever after…
You tell yourself this, because if you don’t, you’re going to start crying again and you’re not going to stop until they sedate you in an institution.
***
Your first thought, when you snake up the winding mountain road to Captain Wander’s aerie of a hillside mansion looking out over the glittering lights of L.A., is ‘Goddam, do cops really make this kind of money?’
You know he’s management and all but Jesus Christ, you thought only movie stars and drug dealers could afford to live up here in the Hollywood Hills.
The place is bumping, and a line of cars are parked outside, clogging the narrow road. The parking style looks amusingly familiar–you suppose Tom is not the only LEO who just puts his car wherever he wants. You wonder what Wander’s well-heeled neighbors think about all this. Maybe they know their complaints will be ignored tonight.
He can tell you’re nervous, judging by the way he’s got his arm around your shoulders snugly and his side molded to your own. “You okay?” he whispers, leaning down to kiss the top of your ear.
“Never been better…” There are a lot of people here, and they all seem to know each other…talking and laughing and hanging out on the back deck with the fancy string lights and the big metal tiki torches illuminating their celebration.
You hobnob in, doing your best to mingle and shake hands and smile and let Tom lead you around to meet his coworkers and their plus ones.
He pops you sparkling champagne and grabs himself a beer from the mini fridge, and you actually start to settle in a little bit with some liquid courage and the niceties of strangers. A nurse that works the third floor at your hospital is here, and that makes you feel ten times more welcome. Her husband is a senior detention officer in Tom’s office, and while you talk and laugh with his wife about healthcare antics, he and Tom awkwardly stare at each other and try to discuss work.
“See?” Tom says, nudging your shoulder and handing you another tiny champagne bottle. “You’re doing just fine, pretty lady.” He leans on the back railing with you, looking absolutely long and delicious in denim and a silky button down, and once again you have to stop yourself from climbing him like a feral squirrel.
Out for his nuts.
The thought catches you off guard, and you choke on laughter.
He raises his eyebrow at you. “I was right.”
“What?” You chuckle, hiccuping into the back of your hand.
He gives your ass a covert squeeze, making you jump and gasp. “You are a little weirdo.”
“Tom!” You slap his bicep, lightly, and he pulls you against him just a bit too close for social gathering standards, but you don’t care, because pressed against his hips with his arms around your waist, looking up at the light clogged night sky, is exactly where you ought to be.
He grinds against you, and you stifle a moan-giggle into your arm. “Have another drink, y/n,“ he teases, mouth pressed against that thin piece of tender flesh behind your ear.
“Shutup, meathead.” You grin up at him, twisting around to press your ass more firmly against his legs, heavily amused by the subtle flair of his nostrils and tightening of his fingers into your plush flesh.
“I have half a mind to take you right back to my car and make you sit on my cock.”
A delicious quiver runs through you, and like that cat in perpetual heat you’ve become, you lean back into him, giving up so easily, arching against his sturdy form. “What are you waiting for?”
“Meet my boss, then we’ll talk about it.”
Captain Wander is in the kitchen—if you can call it that. It’s massive, open and warm, with long polished granite counters and sleek appliances. Everything is spotless. Uncluttered. You overflow with envy for a moment, looking around at the high ceiling and neon beverage displays.
Tom places a hand on the captain’s shoulder, grabbing his attention from the other guests at his expensive bar table. “Jack, this is my girlfriend, y/n.”
“Hi, I’m y/n,” you say, and then flush with the realization that Tom already introduced you and you’re embarrassing yourself in front of his boss of all people.
However, Wander is gracious about it, smiling kindly at you and pressing your hand in his. You can't help but notice how soft his hands are compared to Tom’s. Manicured, well-kemp. He’s been behind a desk for a long time…
“It’s nice to meet you, y/n. You must have a high pain tolerance, if you’re into my boy Tom here.” There’s a sparkle in his eyes as he says it though, and Tom rolls his eyes with a sideways smile. You can tell by this downright deferential reaction (for Tom) that he looks up to Wander.
“Nice to meet you too.”
Wander grins. “Seriously though. You couldn’t be in better hands. Tom is a great guy.” He claps his subordinate on the shoulder, and fuck if Tom isn’t like a puppy rolling over to get his belly scratched. You’ve never seen anything like it–except maybe, with you.
“Hey,” says the Captain, looking directly at you. “Can I steal my man for a second? We gotta talk some shop.”
Since that’s pretty much why Tom brought you over here, you nod agreeably. “Sure. Don’t keep him long though.”
Wander winks at you before throwing an arm over Tom’s shoulders, leading him down a hallway where you suppose there might be an office or something. Tom looks over his shoulder at you, mouthing, You ok?
You nod, even though you hate navigating a crowd this big alone, and you miss him already. You decide to get some air, wandering out back to sit by the pool. The view is spectacular, the glittering lights of the city spread out below you. Plenty of people had the same idea as you, and you take a seat with your drink, trying not to look half as awkward as you feel without Tom’s steady presence at your side.
Some of the other wives and girlfriends whose other halves have wandered off chat you up before drifting away. The lighted pool looks inviting, and you almost wish you’d brought your suit.
“Oh shit, look who it is! You’re not still with that loser Ludlow, are you sweetheart? Come over here if you want a piece of a real man.”
Your head turns as though on a swivel, disbelieving that this fucker would dare show his face here, and that he would have the guts to talk to you again. McCauley, the douchey detective from the bar on your first date with Tom, is seated on a lounger back in the shadows. You realize that everyone has pointedly been avoiding him. He’s clearly drunk, his speech slurred. When he stands he almost falls over, but somehow manages to stumble towards you.
“Give it a rest, Kevin,” your newfound compatriot yells over, rolling her eyes at the drunken idiot.
You decide to ignore him and get closer to the other pool patrons, but his tough grip clamps your wrist before you can run, and instinctively you pull back and hit him in the face.
It’s not like you, to be physically violent, especially not with men twice your size who are stupendously drunk—after all, you know how that usually works out in the end—but over these past few weeks your inner cavewoman has been woken by Tom Ludlow, and then right after that, your inner scratching, biting, kicking, screaming, trapped child by Julian.
You look at your hand in disbelief, then up at McCauley, his fingers delicately pressed to the blooming bright red handprint on the side of his head. His expression is surprise, then seething rage, and he yanks you forward just a little, tiny bit…but that’s all it takes to incite screams, to make you shield your face, to make you cower before him like a little bitch.
Ludlow is on him in a second, so fast you wonder, later, if he jumped off the porch deck just to get over to you, and he grabs him by the collar of his nice button up. You watch McCauley’s feet leave the ground, you hear a loud, blunt thunk, and then the drunkard is flying into the pool, splashing a chlorinated wave over you and the man now at your side with his warm hands on your face, protecting you from the outside world, from the people that otherwise would be seeing you cry.
If they were paying attention to you, that is, and not losing their shit laughing at the groaning, bloody man surfacing from the water with his hand pressed over his nose.
“You okay?” Tom asks, tucking your hair behind your ears and kissing your forehead, and if it wasn’t so heart warming you’d be embarrassed.
You nod, wiping wetness from your cheeks. “He scared me, I hit him.”
“That’s my girl,” Tom tells you, grinning wide, and you preen under his praise, smiling despite yourself.
Tom pulls you against his side protectively, and addresses McCauley. “Either you get the fuck out of here,” he tells him, calmly, almost cordially, “or I throw you over the fence into the freeway next.”
McCauley is all eyes, and you can tell by his expression, all rage, for you, but you stand your ground, chin raised, and you think of the chihuahua again, so brave when tucked behind its big bull mastiff guardian. You feel…good. Guilty about it, but good. Powerful, with this novel feminine energy pulsing through your blood. It’s so strange and melodramatic, to feel as if you’ve been possessed by Lilith herself for hitting some guy that touched you without your permission at a pool party.
Your new friend loops her arm with your own. “Uh, you wanna transfer to med surge?” she teases.
Tom lets you go with her to talk and grab a drink while he makes sure McCauley gets to a taxi…safely. You’re much more relaxed, now, as if all the nervous energy transferred from your right hook into McCauley’s skull on impact, and you settle in to talk to Abby from medsurge and her cop wife friends, equipped with frosty Chardonnay bottles.
Before long, and when the alcohol is really brushing your hackles down into soft fleece, Tom, Wander, and the cop husbands join you. You lean into your fierce protector, and he kisses your temple, like he can’t help but put his lips on you even if you’re surrounded by other people.
It’s good here—better than you thought you’d ever get, especially in a place like LA—nestled by Tom Ludlow and laughing and drinking and talking. The stories that cops tell are wild, heart wrenching, hilarious. You’re gasping in horror as often as bursting out in laughter.
Captain Wander—Jack—sets his beer down and commands the attention of his guests, a small wayward smile directed in Tom’s direction, and your tough detective bristles and squirms under the attention of his superior. You almost feel a little jealous of the way Wander subdues him.
“Now Tom,” Jack says, looking directly at you. “I have some store-eees about Tom.”
Tom grumbles, and you push him playfully. “Oh yeah?” You ask, matching his grin. “Let me guess, he saved a toddler from a house fire and then went back in for their pet kitten?”
This earns you a laugh around the table, even from embarrassed Tom.
“Looks like she’s got your number, Luds,” one of his colleagues teases, patting his shoulder.
Tom looks at you like you’ve got more than just that, and like when you get out of here he’s going to fuck you silly, but the problem with that is you want to be fucked stupid, so you continue, “okay, let’s hear it! I want all Tom’s stories, especially the really embarrassing ones.”
You are in so much trouble, for egging this on, says his hand gripping your thigh firmly, sending a delicious, achy twang deep into your pussy.
”Tom’s always the guy you call when you need to get shit done,” Jack starts, speaking directly to you. “Few years back, we had a big time dealer in holding. This guy was real scum of the earth—I’m talking famous among his kind. Every junkie from here to Sonoma had his number—“
“Sonoma?” You interrupt. “Is that far?”
A murmur of laughter ripples through Jack’s guests, and the Captain smiles at you as if he finds you endearing.
“It’s about 400 miles away,” says Tom to you. Then, to Jack: “she’s from Kansas.”
“Have you shown her around yet?” The Captain asks, and there is some underlying innuendo in his tone that you can’t quite decipher.
“Yeah, a little bit.” You look up at Tom, and his jaw is clenched just a little too tight for your liking. To loosen him up, you grab just above his knee, in that sensitive alcove, and squeeze.
This earns you a jump, and then a brutish grumble of annoyance. You want to ask him if he’s okay, because of his sudden change in demeanor, but Wander is already continuing with his tale.
“Anyway, we had been trying to get this guy for years, and finally we had him in holding. Only problem was, without a confession, we couldn’t go forward with the conviction...and we had to let him go. That’s where Tom comes in.”
“Like a human wrecking ball,” one of his coworkers chimes in.
“Hey,” Wander shrugs, “that’s always been Tom. He’s the guy you call if you want shit done.“ He toasts to the ever-stiffening man beside you, and you grab two of his fingers, wrapping your palm around them in what you hope is a comforting gesture.
“Anyway, we got that confession,” Jack says. “And then some.”
“At first I didn’t know what the hell he was gonna do with that 91 directory,” Tom’s colleague adds, patting him on the shoulder.
“They had to screw that scumbag’s jaw back into place,” another says.
“That’s why he’s the best of the best,” Wander tells you after a big gulp of beer. “You’ve got a good man here, y/n.”
“No doubt about it.”
But doubt is a funny thing. It plants a seed deep inside your brain, and before you know it that seed has sprouted into wisteria vines and begun to wrap all around your squishy pink organ, binding its thoughts in chaos…

there's something very uncomfortable about being in a fandom where all three of the main characters spend a substantial chunk of their lives disabled or chronically ill or both, and the show itself handles this far better than i would have expected, and the fandom handles it way fucking worse.
the frequency with which fics and meta reach for ableist rhetoric that the show itself avoids is absolutely mindblowing to me.
someone being disabled doesn't mean that the ending is unhappy. li lianhua, alive and happy but an ordinary person without powers isn't a bad ending. alive and happy and not in pain, without powers, and disabled in other ways isn't a bad ending.
also, though, an ending where he's dead isn't necessarily a bad ending, either. dying on your own terms isn't nothing. it is, in fact, more than many people get.
the other thing is that people who are disabled or chronically ill or mentally ill still deserve bodily autonomy. even if the people around them don't like the choices they're making; even if their choices cause the people around them pain.
taking away that autonomy and forcing someone to accept a treatment, even a possible cure, that they don't want is a pretty fundamental violation of their personhood. it's striking to me how often narratives in this fandom are like, 'we forcibly cured you against your explicitly stated wishes! be happy and normal again. ok, they lived happily ever after.'
i'm primarily an ot3 person. i am deeply invested in li lianhua being found on this beach by his ridiculous boyfriends and the three of them heading off into the sunset to have some kind of a life about it.
that life looks real different if li lianhua doesn't have agency of his own body. it looks sort of less like a life together, and more like captivity. and maybe you want that! maybe you feel like that's what has to happen! but if that's what you write, you should do so knowing that it's a betrayal and a violation, and that whatever harm li lianhua has inflicted—which is admittedly a lot—di feisheng and fang duobing are inflicting just as much in return.
disabled and chronically ill people still deserve bodily autonomy.

I hate the romanticization of women’s pain and suffering in fiction. So many romance novels plot are things like… the female lead is so in love and devoted to this man, she sacrificed so much for him but he treats her terribly and eventually drives her away—then he begins regretting it, chasing after her, they get back together and live happily ever after. It’s so stupid. It’s so ridiculous. In some romance novels the female lead even died due to the male lead but after being reborn, she would eventually end up together with him again. Every single time I would be like, are you serious? Do people actually enjoy this? And they do! A lot of women enjoy that stuff! It’s so annoying and stupid. And when I criticize it this way, people would be like: “Are you looking down on women? Do you think women cannot tell the difference between reality and fiction?” But just because people can tell the difference between reality and fiction does not mean fiction cannot affect reality! We criticize things in fiction all the time: racist stereotypes, police propaganda, classism, etc.—but when it comes to blatantly problematic romanticization of suffering, it’s “Let people have fun!” “Let women have fun!” Have fun with what? Fantasizing about how a cruel horrible man who treats you like shit may someday regret his actions and transform into a perfect husband? Are we not allowed to question why so many women enjoy this kind of fantasies? Why so many romance novels insist on the suffering of the female lead instead of the male lead? Why are we socialized to accept being hurt and disappointed, sacrifice the things we love or our wellbeing or even be put in danger by romantic relationships?

EDEN REPEAT (AU)
Lucifer finds a device (a remote. Yes this is inspired by the movie click) that can revert every choice he makes in regard of who he picks to stay with in the garden. So initially he had picked Lilith and every possible outcome had been done. Neither one of them ended up with Lucifer staying happily ever after with Lilith so he decided to go for Eve next, some choices were great. He was happy and had a beautiful family but at the end somehow Adam kept popping in Eve’s mind and heart which lead for a divorce and ironically it was the first man to steal his wife in that timeline. Then lastly there was a fucked button that was hard to press on that redirected to Adam, his name glitching on the small screen. He didn't even consider that even possible but there it was, and yet, it was like the universe was screaming at him to not even try, that it was already a bad idea without even able to see the options given for him. He pressed harder on the hard button out of pure curiosity.
And in a blink of an a eye he was back in the garden, hell long gone and he held a glowing red apple. This was it. He knew it was gonna be a shitty timeline like the rest of them were with the exception of witnessing the creation of his beautiful children ofcourse but yeah. There wasn't much to lose, he's seen countless people die and live. He can be able to tolerate whatever is shoved his way throughout this time.
So he walked passed the big forbidden tree and looked for Adam. Successfully avoiding encountering Lilith and Eve, he stopped at middle of where three path directed him to that one sole choice. Lilith. Eve. And then there's... Adam.
He had already stepped into the first two paths. Now it was time for Adam’s. What would be different?
The question echoed in his head as he proceeded to walk into the clearly rocky path, unlike Lilith who was filled with roses and spikes, or Eve’s that we're filled with vines and mud making it hard to let you in without getting tangled or falling. Adam's was just painful to walk on barefoot. Okay, haha, as if his father was mocking him, he stumbled across a big ass rock which he eventually had to climb to get to the other side. Once at the top he appreciated the view, he extended his wings, feeling the breeze hit his now golden feathers.
Oh, how painful it would be to fall again. He's done it three times and the pain is still intense as the first time. He shivers from the thought and considers just choosing himself as an option, was that even a option? Being a brainwashed slave for heaven?
No. He's the king of hell, well, soon would be. He won’t fall to such down levels of loyal golden dog title. No offense to his soon to be husband who in all timelines choose heaven and stayed a golden loyal mascot. WELL, with the exception of those two particular timelines were Lilith forces Adam to stay in hell with her; absolutely devoted to him encouraging Adam to be evil which he eventually turns into by becoming one of the most powerful demons Lucifer had the misfortune to ever meet and then there's the other one where Eve corrupts Adam instead, lying and tricking him to bite the apple eventually killing him. Now those were some crazy shit he had to watch develop or die from. Another recurring thing he's bare witness in all timelines is that Adam always ends up dying. Which was something he immediately took notice of.
He shakes his head away from all those thoughts, trying to focus on the task at hand.
And there he was. He stops when seeing Adam hugging himself with his arms, pacing back and forth mumbling, "he's gonna take her away just like he did with Lilith! I can't lose her," before hugging himself even tighter.
That made Lucifer's heart pang in guilt.
"Adam."
The sound of his voice startles Adam, making him jump.
"Samael! What are you.." he frowns deeper, "you're not supposed to be here," Adam says serious, "you and Lilith where banned from the garden remember?"
Okay. Here you go Lucifer. Use that charm to make Adam bite the apple.
"Yes. But! I was also blocked from giving you what I truly wanted for you to have."
Adam tilts his head slightly confused.
Lucifer then shapeshifts into a snake and slither his way towards Adam, climbing his leg then reaching his neck. He can feel the first man tensing while shivering slightly from the small hissing Lucifer was emitting close to his ear.
"They call me Lucifer now. I'm here to offer you free will," he poofs the apple inside his mouth. It was a funny view for anyone who wasn't aware of the consequences of taking such apple, only seeing a small snake and a huge fruit as the size of a lemon trapped against two sharp fangs, eyes popping out as if he were being squeezed.
Adam gasped in horror, "y-you're not supposed to have that! You're gonna get in trouble!"
Lucifer pushes the apple out of his mouth to Adam with his tongue but the other refused to take it, making the fruit fall into the ground.
"I couldn't give this to you as I did to Lilith. Ever wonder why Lilith decided to flee the garden? It wasn’t because of you. It was because she's no longer tied up by heavens chains. She's free to wonder anywhere, Adam. And you could too. If you bite that apple."
"No! Are you nuts!?" Adam pushes Lucifer off him, stepping as far away as possible from the snake.
His big golden-doe eyes stare at him in pure disbelief.
Lucifer poofs back to his angelic form, "haven't you ever wonder what it would be like to choose your own future?"
Adam blinks. Lucifer's smile widened. He got something. Now it's time to make Adam wonder further. Now that he thinks about it, he has never offered Adam the chance to be able to choose. Everything was always forced upon him, which was sad and very unfair for the very first human. Maybe if he had offered Adam the apple instead of trying to trick him in those other timelines it could've been different?
His eyes glowed as he stepped closer to the first man, almost hypnotizing.
"Adam, it must be torturous to be always following their rules and receive only their word for gratitude. Be your own person."
"My own person..?" Adam musters in a whisper, trying to decipher what those words meant, eyes glued stuck to Lucifer’s as the angel kept approaching him. So close, that he only stops once his a few centimeters away from him.
Lucifer gently presses his hand on Adam’s cheek, the first man lets him do so. It felt warm.
"Yes. You can pick your own destiny, you don't have to father children, you don't have to be married! All you can do is choose. What do you want, Adam?" The angel almost purrs softly.
Adam was left speechless, his thoughts running miles, all leaving to the only conclusion that it would be cool if he could pick for himself.
"All you have to do is bite that apple," Lucifer nudges with his head towards the apple that was long forgotten in the ground.
"Is that even possible..?"
"It's possible. This will change everything."
From the corner of his eye, Lucifer can witness Adam slightly licking his bottom lip staring at the apple, contemplating the possibilities.
So he kept pushing, walking around Adam, proudly.
"No having to deal with the pressure of having to conceive with your wife."
Adam bit his lip. Lucifer kept walking around him, beaming triumphantly.
"No need to preform any of those dumb tasks to prove you're worthy for the angels."
Adam bites harder.
"No need to retrain your feelings or fake you're okay."
Adam watches the apple with much hunger.
"You can do what you want, say what you want, be what you want."
And in a sweep motion Adam grabs the apple from the ground and takes a huge bite.
'Nailed it' Lucifer thought, smuggly, as he watches Adam savoring the apple. He can hear thunder from the skies but pays no mind.
He examines in careful detail how Adam reacts to the apple. Previously, with Eve, his reaction was obviously betrayal considering he was tricked however this time was different. It was all willingly.
Hopefully it would be different.
Adam freezes which makes Lucifer look at him alarmed. The apple falls slowly out of his hands.
"..Adam?"
Adam eyes shrunk, his mouth slightly agape.
"I see it." He says, slowly his mouth twitches into a smile, his eyes immediately widening.
Lucifer brows frowned together in confusion, "what?"
"I can see it! Lucifer!" He turns to see him, grabbing a hold on to his shoulders, "it's beautiful! And fucking horrific! I feel free! I can finally do whatever I want!" He then smooches Lucifer in a deep kiss leaving the angel stunned.
Lucifer solely blinks after Adam steps away jumping in excitement and a flaring determination.
"That was hot," he finally musters out, before smirking proud as he watches the first man fist punching the air.
"I'm gonna choose to not be father of humanity!"
Lucifer shakes his head with a chuckle, "okay big guy. There's small dreams as they're big. Let's be more careful into planning how to make those big dreams come true. If you follow me, Lilith, you and I can go against heaven and fight for your freedom."
Adam blinks.
"But.. I thought I was already free?"
"You are!" Lucifer adds quickly, "but from your choices. It's much more complicated when it comes to heaven."
Adam's smile slowly falls, "I don't want to hurt heaven either."
Lucifer takes a moment to respond to that. Surely this was not the response he was expecting from Adam. But even as biting the apple, Adam's loyalty still remains faithful and strong.
He takes a deep breath, in a attempt to ease Adam, he approaches him and holds his hands.
"C'mon, pretty peach. We have to go," the thunder gets louder and the ground starts shaking, "I'll make sure those dreams come true, but first, we have to think smart. You're now able to think beyond the capability you were initially given! Isn't that exciting?"
Adam turns back to looks at the dark path that lead to his resting place.
"What about Eve?"
"We'll come back for her. First we have to make a plan. Come now!" He then drags Adam outside the garden and head to his cave with Lilith.
~~~~~
Lilith looks at him in absolute disbelief, "you said you were going after Eve! But you brought him instead!?"
"Did I now?" Lucifer thought for a second, it's been so long since he's been doing these eden repeats that he's long forgotten what he initially went inside the garden at his first time.
"He's harmless," he defended as he watches Adam look in curiosity the cave.
"This place sucks," that was the only words that came out from the first man, making Lilith huff displeased.
"Do I have to remind you how controlling he was to me!"
"He wasn't controlling, he was following orders," Lucifer quickly sweeped Lilith’s concerns aways as he continues to stare at Adam, "he has bitten the apple, Lily. He knows better now."
"Yeah, chillax, babe," Adam starts making yapping motions to Lilith.
The first woman crosses her arms annoyed.
