I finally caved and made a Tumblr lmao I'll be honest, this fandom intimidates the fuck out of me. Cross posting here from Ao3.

This story follows a Two Act structure. It will begin with the prologue which is set in current times (really kicking this story off with a bang lmaoooo). Then Act One will be set in the past and then Act Two is back in the present.

I’m going to be playing with different POVs to get a real sense of what's going on and there will be a lot of Ghost POV because I love being in his brain :’) I also won’t be tagging each chapter individually so please read the tags here and they will be updated as needed.

Now, to clarify some shit;

I’ve played around with the timeline and shit to make things work better and had to fill in some gaps. We know that Ghost joined the military after the 911 attacks and I had him be 18 when that happened (meaning he was born in 1983). If I made him any older, he’d be even older than I wanted him to be at present times. As it was now, he turned out at 40 in 2023 (when I started this fic). I didn't really want him to be that old (not that 40s old, but you know lmao) so for the sake of this story, ‘present time’ is 2019 and he’s 36. 

And the last note; I’m in fact from Manchester myself. Ghost doesn’t have a Manchester accent in the least. No idea why, I always presumed it was something about him joining the military, maybe he picked up an accent similar to a London one or something, but boy is that accent not Mancunian. Not that its a bad thing because I fucking hate Mancunian accents and I say that as someone who has one lololol I won't be mentioning the fact his accent isn't quite right in the story ‘cause that's just awkward :’)

👻 What is your wildest headcanon?

probably that spirit never cheated. i have made many a tumblr post about this (man i should have tagged those explicitly....) and whenever i bring up the topic (except to a couple good friends) it creates instant ire, backlash, arguments... i rather think there's an entire discord server that dislikes me due to this very headcanon looool.... but the thing is, i don't think it's a wild idea! just everyone else does. meanwhile 1) a five year old maka whose mama is gone is not a reliable narrator, and 2) a divorced man is allowed to cast his gaze elsewhere, and 3) we truly have no evidence he ever did cheat. literally all we have is toddler maka's claims and the scenes she shows us in that flashback from the first prologue are easily, easily interpreted as people fawning over a celebrity and spirit is THE celebrity (and dancing with people is normal social behavior since when is dancing with not your spouse a crime???? in what culture???? seriously). i have written essays on this AND I'LL WRITE THEM AGAIN! stopping myself here or i'll go on for ages.

for.... just soul eater.... uhm. well. if we count individual documents, approximately 50. but three to four of those documents are....anthologies, with many many one-shots contained therein.... so we're looking at closer to 80 WIPs just for soul eater..... and most but not all of those are stein/spirit focused or focused on one of the two. i do have other things tho, like a soul-centric pre-canon multi-chap huehue. if we wanna talk about all my fandoms tho.... uh well... for kim possible (Drakgo ship mostly) there's over 300 WIPs.... let's ballpark my total across all fandoms at approximately 500 💀💦💦💦💦💦

🎨 If someone were to make fanart of your work, what fic or scene would you hope to see?

oh goodness... i truly don't know. i've already received so much beautiful fanart, and it's utterly humbling. i think... the true answer to this is, i want to see what impacted a reader. if there were a specific moment or scene or line or look that meant something to a reader, then i'd want to see that expressed. as a writer i love knowing how my writing impacts others. so to know what meant something to someone else would be the greatest gift.

Parallels/Disparate - very old AU that feat. Odd constantly cycling through time loops, the ending leading to Disparate where the gang knows and is aiming to solve this while defeating XANA in S4.

Bizarre Guide - AU where Odd, Ulrich, and Yumi are AI. Jeremie and the other students at Kadic try to help them & Aelita learn how to be human.

Loneliest Life - William/Odd roleswap AU, canon Odd teleports into the alternate world (Teleportation glitching) and is trying to get back home... although, can he resist trying to help fix this mess his other self landed in?

Trade My Life - Odd, Ulrich, and Yumi obtain a virus at the end of Season 1 instead of Aelita. Non-linear snippets explore the aftermath for the Lyoko Warriors.

Strays - one of the MLB crossovers, focusing on Chat Noir dealing with a solo mission that spirals into a new crush (& other distressing concepts that should've never mixed in the first place).

Drain - Odd's lack of a new ability after Jeremie gets rid of Future Flash has its consequences. XANA just wanted to kill them one by one, it didn't calculate this madness would come out of it.

tip of the brush - XANA targets Odd for his artistic abilities. A cat-boy wakes up in control of his own world, unknowing of who he was meant to be. Both parties seek to remedy this. This may/may not have a William/Odd/Ulrich ship.

Cherrybird - Odd wields the Ladybug Miraculous and still decides to help out to defeat XANA. Juggling two heroic lives with his own new school life isn't exactly sane...

Bystander - Odd never takes Kiwi to Kadic. Ulrich wants to keep the one piece of normalcy in his life, despite the problems that come with this. UlrOdd shipping ensues.

Can we Restart? - The Evolution group are trapped in an endless time loop dragging them back to the day Jeremie turned on the supercomputer. After countless times trying to break this with distressingly lack of concern for themselves, XANA decides enough is enough. A chaotic team-up occurs.

Such a Charmer - William crushes on Odd instead of Yumi in S2. Likely a five times William realizes he's in love with Odd, and the one where Odd reciprocates. :)

Done in Halves - After their first time in Lyoko, the gang come to realize their avatars possess their own consciousnesses. They're not exactly... quaint. In fact, they seem to agree with XANA's beliefs.

Tangled Strings - Soulmate AU; Odd is ecstatic to have three soulmates. The problem is uh, they seem to never get along. Great. (i.e. Odd/William/Ulrich/Yumi, yes I'm diving into the deep end, and yes Jeremie/Aelita have their own struggles on the side looool)

Replacement - Jim's been trying non-stop to locate the sneaky dog on campus. Odd has to send Kiwi back home for a bit until the heat cools down. He's bummed out and Jeremie lets him borrow Kiwi 2 so they can trick Jim into thinking this was the dog all along. Of course, XANA can never resist an opportunity that presents itself.

brick by boring brick - this particular story blends CL and Ben 10 a bit. Odd has the Omnitrix AU & Kiwi is more than he seems. They arrive at Kadic late into the semester due to some strange circumstances, and it slowly becomes clear to Odd that this school isn't exactly normal. Ulrich wishes that his roommate was normal but it seems like nothing can go his way.

an echo, a stain: back on my bullshit again

So upon reflection, I really felt that in the desired constellation was too much, too soon -- I posted that chapter first because I was excited about the confrontation, but honestly, I want to develop other elements of the story more before that point. So since that thing is kind of spoilery and set three years ahead of where I really wanted to start, I put it on pause (I will continue it when the time is right) and started writing its... lol I guess it's a prequel?! even though they're all chapters written for the same story?!?! Which is why I made it a series. loool Anyway, an echo, a stain has its first five chapters up and the number of chapters I have listed is a full lie. I do have the whole story figured out but looool I literally cannot make an outline without grossly underestimating how much I fucking write. SO ANYWAY. I hope you enjoy the story. :D

Been back in Japan for a while now but just now getting used to not going to work everyday. It’s been a dream not having to take the congested trains for three hours every day 5-6 times a week omg! It is so so stressful!

Been prepping multiple versions of my resume and tons of cover letters, as well as taking some Japanese lessons (paid for with a stipend from my previous employer - s/o to Nihongonomori) and some MOOCs to level up my skills, alongside attending seminars at my local HelloWork. Getting lots and lots of rejections but trying not to lament though some days are better than others. I need to switch up my approach but also a relocation might be in the near future so I also need to start looking for positions up north… 👀

Remote would be a dream but they’re few and far between for sure…

Since I left my last employer I am proud to say I have booked a handful of model/talent gigs and it’s been such a thrill. I’m writing this on the Shinkansen to Tokyo for what is one of my biggest jobs yet. Of course before leaving Kansai I went through the motions of natural hair anxiety - and I just hope that the beauty team on set over the next couple days come with all their skills because I am going to give it 150% and I want to make sure the look match!!

I really need to get a trim and when I say trim I mean like cutting several inches off my ends (is it even ends anymore?!) because nevermind that I have hair for three people but my endssss whew do not put my blow dried hair in a room with a lit cigarette 😂

and before that it was a 4.5 year gap. My last salon visit before that was right before moving to Japan lol I have basically only gotten a haircut that one time since I moved to Japan ten years ago and I didn’t even get the haircut at the 4.5 year mark IN Japan. I’m just really apprehensive about the level of natural/Black haircare knowledge and have lots of childhood salon trauma. I just want to be treated with dignity and walk out happy. 😢 but at this point and with my goals in mind I need to get my hair together and I need help doing it.

I need to find someone who knows how to do a proper blowout since I only ever cut my hair dry. What a struggle in itself and so here we are.

Very thankful for everything so far. I find it ironic that I have the opportunity to take modeling more seriously at this stage in my life. Sometimes I think like damn I’m (re)starting so late - but then I tell myself immediately to shut up, that my timing is the right timing and I’m also immediately reminded of what my mom said before I moved to Japan (she didn’t want me to come after the Fukushima disaster - I still came to jpn for the first time that very August on vacation but) she said “I’m not gonna say anything because I know you’re are going to do what you want” and I don’t think she meant it dismissively, but I think it finally hit her that I ammmm stubborn af and thus also really determined to at least TRY something I’m motivated to do if I think it’s at all possible. Shoutout to my Taurus risings!!

She tried to shoot down my model dreams when I was younger but I mean we was poor and I was the first to go to college like what you mean you wanna take pictures as a job looool

It's been a weekend!

I went to a wedding this weekend and my partner and I were on toddler babysitting duty. I naively thought I would be able to read a few chapters, but babies move fast yall. This was the only chapter I was able to read the entire time we were away.

I didn't even have a hot drink when I read it :'( But I did have this baby claim my lap (meet Winston).

Hey, so I kinda have this small concept/AU since highschool and I wanna throw it at you.

So, basically in this universe not only are the Greek gods real, they also interact with mortals more. Here the three Virgin goddesses Artemis, Athena, Hestia got together and built this institution called "The Elysium of Virginity" (real original IK) where people can go to live and swear off either sexual relationships. And while this is nice for the Aces and all, a lot of the time it has been used by overprotective parents and such to keep their loved ones from having a healthy love life.

Back to topic : So basically we have Nortalice being a cute couple and Orpheus just isn't having it. Dude tried almost everything to break em up but it didn't work, so as a last desperate F you to Norton (and a super unintentional dick move to Alice) Orpheus just signs her up for the Elysium. Obvs godly contract didn't stop Nortalice from being together, and bonus point, the three V's know all about it and are literally helping them while discussing ways to deal with Orpheus that doesn't involve murder and brainwashing and shit.

I love that so many gods will be getting involved LOOOOL I can even see Norton being like 'eeyyyyyy Hadessssss buddy ol paaallllll, yeeaaaaaaaa, I've got a situation', with Hades also being the god of hidden wealth and all, I can see Norton trying to gain favor with him for most his life cause of that. (and would also make most people wary of him cause oooooo boi bro is trying to get close with the SCARY god of the underworld?? lol)

*crowd of people harassing Norton about trying to gain favor with Hades* Norton: "he is actually way chill--" -he is telling the truth lol- *the crowd FLEEING the scene fearing Norton about to be struck down for being so informal LOL* Norton: "finally peace and quiet"

but that would definitely add to the 'ALICE you CANNOT be with T H A T GUY"

but that is probably part of what drew her to him in the first place LOL The only person that wants to enter his world and stick around, that actually shows a genuine care for him then Norton being able to appease her curiosity and take her places no one else would dare to venture to. Cause 'as long as you don't mess with the dead you're gonna be just fine' lol two peas in a pod doing their own things together, growing closer as time passes

only to then be ripped apart like thaaaaat 😭

BUT maaaan in the end I can see them being their own constellations together with no more interference from mortal or immortal parties ahhhh

439! The plan is posting two more tonight so hopefull that will soon be 441 LOL.

2. What’s your total AO3 word count?

939,623! Almost a million yay!

3. What fandoms do you write for?

At the moment mostly TMFU, I have been getting into writing Banana Fish fic too, and I write for The Witcher, though less frequently than TMFU.

4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos?

Yesssss, I'm like constantly behind and sometimes I answer months late, but I love answering because 1) comments make me so happy and I want the readers who took the time to let me know they enjoyed the fic to KNOW THAT, 2) talking about fics is SO much fun, I think that discussing things in the comments is the best part of posting.

6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?

LOOOOOOOOOOOL filter for MCD on my Ao3 and take your pick. But I'd go with either Forever is the sweetest con (Napoleon/Illya/Gaby, TMFU) because the story is told backwards, so you start with post-MCD and end pre-MCD, so the ending is happy but. well. the happiness is gone already and you know it LOL, or maybe Meaner than my demons, colder than this home (Napoleon/Illya/Gaby, TMFU), purely because generally speaking when I play with MCD I kill just one of them off and leave the other two to pick up the pieces, but here there's just Napoleon left, so. probably worse than the others LOL.

7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?

Sooo, I tend to write one-shots, and I HAVE written fluffy fics, but I think I'll go with Something gets lost from a safe distance (Napoleon/Illya, TMFU) because it's part of a three-part series that's all emotional hurt/comfort, and then it ends with fluffy kissing so.

8. Do you get hate on fics?

Eh, it has happened, I think it's inevitable if you have been doing this for long enough LOL.

9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?

Nope.

10. Do you write crossovers? What’s the craziest one you’ve written?

Not usually, I did write a TMFU/Supernatural crossover though LOL.

11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?

Not that I’m aware of.

12. Have you ever had a fic translated?

Yesss, more than once and it's always extremely flattering that someone would want to go through all that effort <3

13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?

Nope.

14. What’s your all time favorite ship?

Right now I feel particularly strongly about the TMFU OT3 but like. I love so many.

15. What’s a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?

I HAVE MULTIPLE LONGFICS SITTING IN MY DRAFTS DAMMIT. I just never want to post longfics unless I have either a first draft for every chapter or at the very least an extremely detailed outline for every chapter, which means that I end up always posting one-shots LOL. Two notable mentions among these longfics are a "Napoleon gets amnesia and bullshits his way through it to avoid telling anyone because he has trust issues" fic and an AU with Illya as a ghost that's a whole angsty mess. help me.

16. What are your writing strengths?

Eeeeeeeh the emotions I'd say. Or I HOPE so, since that's pretty much 80% of my writing loooool Also there a lot of lines of dialogue that I come up with that I unironically like.

17. What are your writing weaknesses?

Plots for one, I just tend to write snapshots with no real plot most of the time, and action. I don't LIKE writing it, which means I can never tell if it's boring or if I'm just projecting, and I tend to avoid it. ...also romance/attraction/getting-together. My aroace ass never knows what is believable romance and what are just tv show tropes that are not actually real LOL.

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?

I generally don't do it and keep to the language of the narration, just clarifying "X says in German" if there's a change of language. I write limited third POV, so I just see it as "filtering" everything through the lens of the person that we are seeing the perspective of. If I'm writing from Gaby's POV, for instance (she's German but fluent in English), I feel like TECHNICALLY the narration should be in German, so by writing in English I have already chosen a filter that is not 100% accurate. But that's the filter I'm going with, so English is the language that Gaby is communicating to the reader in, so everything should be communicated through English lens: if she's talking to someone in English, I will just write the lines with no specifications, if she's talking in German I still write in English and write "in German" in the narration, and if someone speaks a language she doesn't know I don't write the actual dialogue because she doesn't understand it, so the reader doesn't get to see it either.

I hope this makes some sort of sense LOOOOOL, I don't really mind any way I've seen this done, but this is how I prefer to go about it.

19. First fandom you wrote for?

The Fallen book series. LOL.

20. Favorite fic you’ve written?

Evil question, go directly to jail, do not collect 100$. This answer will absolutely change every five minutes, but right now I'm particularly feeling Souvenir from a life left behind (Napoleon/Illya, TMFU), just a tiny dissolution of UNCLE fic with Napoleon angsting.
