I have been thinking about what types of notions and things the craft dorm (what I've been calling the Shu/Izumi/Kuro/Mao dorm) would have in their respective kits and ended up making some collages with my thoughts. In order it's Shu, Izumi, Kuro, and Mao. Longer explanation below the cut.

Shu:

Since he canonically makes lace I put all sorts of different lace making tools on his. In the english server it got translated as crochet and crochet lace can be absolutely gorgeous and it's pretty portable so it makes sense, hence the steel hooks. The other lace making tools are bobbins and a bobbin pillow and a tatting shuttle. While tatting is the "lesser" form of lace making compared to crochet and bobbins, it's by far the most portable as the thread is wound around the shuttle and to me Shu would probably do tatting on the plane to/from Japan and France. Also included for him are pretty generic sewing notions, your pins and pincushion, scissors, a needle and thread, t-pins, and beeswax. T-pins can be used to block the lace as well, and the beeswax is for hand sewing. Fun fact but if you run your thread over beeswax a few times before starting to sew it'll help strengthen your thread and prevent it from splitting! Shu also heavily prefers working with natural fibers over synthetic.

Izumi:

Guy absolutely uses DPNs (double pointed needles) for his knitting, at least when it comes to socks and hats. I believe in some of the examples of his knitting we've seen he has done cabling so a cable stitch holder is there as well, though I can imagine he does it without it too if it gets lost. He also has a ball winder and I wish I had thought to put a swift on here too but like Shu, he prefers to get natural fibers over synthetic and hand dyed wool is great but it comes in hanks which areeeeeee hard to work with so a swift and ball winder would be necessary for him. Also included are more t-pins, a blocking board, stitch markers, and yarn needles.

Kuro:

To me, Kuro is the type of guy to make scrap quilts with left over fabric from the outfits he makes for his friends (and also out of like old shirts his sister has grown out of), so he has a huge scrap fabric pile he's constantly thinking about what type of blocks to make them into. I feel like he'd also make his own appliques for these quilts and would use basting spray to hold those down, obviously. Also the type of guy who just carries spare buttons on him in case of an emergency. Also has a seam ripper, scissors (thread, fabric), a tailor's measuring tape, and a cutting board.

Mao:

I know he doesn't really craft but to me? He's a crocheter. He tried knitting once and failed very badly but crochet (in my opinion at least) is a lot easier to grasp for beginners and I think he made the dorm a few dish cloths at first but mostly makes amigurumis now of his favorite manga characters, as well as little toys for his friends, hence the safety eyes. Probably works more with synthetic fibers due to ease of accessibility and variety of colors, though he tries not to buy too much of the same color unless he knows what it'll be used for. Also has stuffing, yarn needles, stitch markers, and a little crochet hook carrying case.

General Notes:

There were some things I didn't think to add until after I had already finished all of these collages, and some things that were things I thought everyone would have. To start, Shu would obviously also have a blocking board for his lace blocking, and as mentioned earlier Izumi would have a swift. Shu probably also has a swift and ball winder or just borrows Izumi's when he buys anything heavier than thread for crochet (which isn't often so I'm leaning more towards borrowing). Kuro would also have a bar of beeswax for the same reason as Shu, as well as maybe a thimble? Though I suppose it depends on how much he cares about his fingers being callused from the needle. Shu has a thimble. I also think all four of them would have some sort of project bag, whether it's just an old backpack or something a bit more expensive, they all have something that allows them to take their crafts on the go.

The one thing that truly irked me about legend of korra (there might be more I just can't think of them rn lol) is that there's not one mention of the kyoshi warriors. Not fucking one. And they're like multiple places they could of put them and I have three examples:

Zaofu

Literally instead of having guards that didn't know wtf they were doing, they could've had the kyoshi warriors. And before yall say "well it's a metal bending city they need metal benders" bro they could've had metal bending kyoshi warriors! And their uniform look like a mix between republic city police armor and traditional kyoshi warrior uniform. I know I'm definitely stretching with this one but hear me out. (Also thier fans I'm pretty sure are made of metal if not in lok they could make them metal) speaking of republic city-

I feel like it would've made 100% more sense if suki had transferred some of the kyoshi warriors to be the protectors of republic city than toph all of sudden giving a shit about making laws and creating a police force. Like how cool would it be to have Lin be a kyoshi warrior??? THE daughter of toph beifong being a kyoshi warrior would've been cool as fuck.

Just keep them being the fire lords bodyguards

It's literally cannon that they protect zuko when he becomes fire lord 😭😭 I don't understand why they just didn't keep that for firelord Izumi. Especially during book 3 when zaheer was going after all the world leaders zuko could've mentioned the kyoshi warriors protecting his daughter but worried it wouldn't be enough or something.

Like dude kyoshi warriors were probably on of my fav part of og atla and I hate how they completely got rid of/ not mention it in lok 😭

It's kind of shocking how Hinata is so commonly characterized as someone who is perfect at making friends and is a 100% extrovert-- which yes, he is, but I think people are forgetting how much anxiety he has and how much of a people pleaser he is. I'm rewatching Haikyuu rn and I'm on S1 E5, and the way Daichi came up to Hinata and his immediate response was "I'll block, I'll set, I'll do whatever you need me to!!" And the way he makes promises he can't keep because he wants people to like him is kind of sad. I doubt he had many friends growing up other than Izumi and Kouji, and was probably bullied for being loud, obnoxious, and a weirdo for playing volleyball with the girls or being so into volleyball. So now he makes promises he can't keep and tries to go above and beyond for the team because he doesn't want them to get rid of him or not take him seriously. Yes, he's good at making friends, but I doubt he knows how or why. He's clearly worried that people are only friends with him out of convenience and his jumping skills; that since they play together, they /have/ to be friends. He just wants to finally be of use to someone; for someone to take him seriously; someone who won't ignore him around other people bc they don't want to be seen with him (silly funny little hc of mine 🥰🥰) . But that's also why Karasuno is so great, because they really are a family. They love Hinata and are friends with him, and they like him because he's a good person, not because they have to be since they play together, or just because he's skilled and they want to take that from him. And maybe at first, Hinata didn't realize that, since after being ignored and bullied and mocked, he thought the only way someone would possibly want him around was because he could help them win. And since he's so short, of course, taller, older, buffer players would intimidate him because they could easily take advantage of the height difference, so all of his bathroom encounters are NOT helping his anxiety 😭😭😭 and the puking??? When hinata threw up on Tanaka?? Everybody is always so focused on Yamaguchi's anxiety that they don't look at or even realize Hinata's anxiety. LITERALLY, THE ENTIRETY OF EP5 IS ABOUT HINATA'S ANXIETY AND PEOPLE PLEASING BEHAVIOR,,, WHY DOES NOBODY TALK ABOUT IT???? THE KEY SCENE LIKE 20 MINUTES IN??? (For ref, Daichi, Suga, and Kageyama are talking about Hinatas behavior, and Daichi imagines a scene: He hands Hinata the club room keys, Hinata says he'll take it, Daichi says, "I never told you where to keep it, so I brought it", and Hinata bows repeatedly saying he's sorry (about 6 times)) THAT IS NOT NORMAL!!! And then he's so worried about not doing well because he feels like he needs to make up for everything (his height, his lack of skill, his lack of experience on a team, the incident with Kageyama, etc), AHH HE LITERALLY SAYS, "This isn't like junior high...because I can be replaced! I don't want that. I don't want to be replaced. " BUT NOBODY CARES?? NOT ONE PERSON IN THIS FANDOM (THAT I HAVE SEEN) TALKS ABOUT ANY OF THIS!!! All I ever see is how Hinata has tons of friends and is so popular and is a people magnet, but does anybody ever think that he's probably anxious because those friends might get bored of him and find new friends?? That since Kenma has known Kuroo a lot longer and already doesn't really like people, he might just decide to stop talking to him?? Or that Kageyama might get bored of Hinata and stop hanging out with him outside of volleyball?? Or that Daichi and/or Coach Ukai will one day realize that he isn't really that special, and anyone can jump or run fast, so he gets replaced??? Literally I bet his WORST FEAR is being replaced and forgotten.

Atsushi: 8/10

It's predominantly white and light colours suit me pretty well. My only ick is how the pants aren't high waisted but the manga solves his issue. I love those gloves. But I'd keep on tripping on that long ass belt-

Dazai Osamu: 9/10

It's a pretty outfit and I'd love the inner layer. My only ick is the long beige coat but It won't trouble me too much so 9/10. I'd just probably style the inner layer a bit to make it better that's it.

Doppo Kunikida: 7/10

Listen. I love the fit. But It's kinda dark near the face so I'd look hideous in it. But the bow is adorable. I'm sure I'd be called a teacher if I wore this fit tho, but that's not the point rn.

Ranpo Edogawa: 10/10

Oh my god. The outfit is just perfect- The hat, the tie, the cape, the shirt. Everything about Ranpo's outfit just screams out YES to me. It's not too dark but not bright. I'd wear this outfit 10/10.

Akiko Yosano: 10/10

Her outfit just fixes all of the issues with Atsushi's outfit, The tie and skirt are soo pretty. And it's high waisted! I'd kill for those sleeves- So pretty and floof oh god- So Yosano is a 10/10 from me.

Kenji Miyazawa: 6/10

It's cute but I don't like overalls, But I love the layering of the inner shirts of white and black on him. And those sleeves are the bomb. They're flowy and cute as well- The hat isn't really my thing tho. So the hat and overalls reduced the fit from a 9/10 to a 6/10.

Yukichi Fukuzawa: 3/10

I actually don't live in japan so traditional outfits like this aren't my jam. And I don't like the green. And the socks with sandals aren't my thing.

Junichiro Tanizaki: 7/10

Tbh I'd wear this but I hate baggy clothes that I have to keep adjusting on my shoulder cause it keeps slipping off. But the inner black top gives me life. The red jacket is also really cute-

Kyouka Izumi: 5/10

I don't wear Japanese clothing but I loved the colours on her outfit so-

Katai Tayama: 8/10

It looks fluffy and comfy- I wanna have that coat or whatever you call it. He's so me with that posture tho-

As much as I like B4's finale, I hate that it happened in Republic City. Like first off, wanting to reclaim a Fire Nation colony that was not returned to the Earth Kingdom after the war ended is one of the very few points of Kuvira's that I could get behind, or at least see her reasoning.

Second off, however, Kuvira attacking Republic City feels a bit contrived and done purely to not make all the characters look like dicks because they were so obviously not gonna help the Earth Kingdom free itself from an oppressive facist regime that, let's not forget, Tenzin and Raiko did help put into place.

Like literally barely anyone other than the Beifongs seemed to give a fuck about the people dying in the presumed labour/concentration camps.

Like Raiko, Tenzin and Izumi were just ready to get into a cold war and call it a day. Tbh Korra didn't even seem that fucking broken up about it, more about still struggling with her own mental erosion (which is ok I like Korra's internal journey, but like, Girlie, things are going on rn.)

It just feels like if Kuvira didn't attack, the Earth Kindom would just get locked behind this handy reference to the literal Iron Curtain.

And if Kuvira does adhere to the the very obvious Stalin references she carries, the regular Earth Empire citizens are kinda fucked.

Like I get that this was a politically complex situation but there was no sense of urgency until they learnt that Kuvira would be attacking Republic City.

I genuinely wish tlok was less confined to their weird little America insert. When so much shit was probably going down in the Earth Kingdom we had to fuck around at the oriental reskin of New York city.

And it would be so much more interesting to see the Krew actually try to help free people from Kuvira's regime, as we see that there were common people who didn't support her. And the Beifongs, as an established Earth Kindom family, and Kuvira's adpoted family would also fit into this storyline perfectly but they got sidelined completely when they seemed to be the only people actively choosing to oppose Kuvira.

Like having the finale happen in Ba Sing Se or somewhere in the EK wouldn't give us as cool of a "mecha suit amongst big buildings" fights, but I think it would've been so much more interesting and poignant.

Goddamn I started writing and didn't realise I was this salty about this lol. Sorry if this comes of as bitchy. Like I said, I love the finale, I just think it could be so much better.

In the original text, Haruka sends a casual text to the group chat, then corrects his tone by adding “ですか” (desu ka) in a separate message. Momo and mitsuki tease him about it by sending casual messages then following it up with “ですか”. This kind of polite speech doesn’t exist in English, so this was the closest way to convey the OG conversation’s tone

This is another joke that can’t be properly conveyed in English without further context, Momo and Mitsuki start adding “や” (ya) at the end of their messages which is a form of speech under a style called “yakuwarigo”, used in manga/anime (amongst other forms of media) to indicate age. The “ya” in this case is added to elderly characters’ speech, hence why I chose to add the “ol’ man” so that Haruka’s comment makes sense.

Okay okay okay. This post is going to be mentioning so much murder and death and also a lil bit of existential horror and just plain old horror but yk. With the concept I’m about to speak into this world it’s bound to happen. It’s also crack taken seriously. So. High school au.

Tha basic facts:

Chuuya lives with Verlaine

The Flags and Chuuya are friends and have been for a year

Dazai got taken from Mori’s care when the old boss died so he’s in a foster home with atsushi rn. They live with the Izumi’s.

Oda’s with Fukuzawa. Ranpo and Yasano too.

The Ada are a detective group outside of school. It’s literally just made of high schoolers and middle schoolers. They are the best in Yokohama. The people think the police are a joke.

. The flags are a youth club that Pianoman managed to establish with the old principle. They do basically whatever they want with the promise of doing shit for the school when they graduate. The old fuck dies (murdered by Mori), and when said worlds worst high-school doctor takes over, he tries to disband the club after they couldn’t get Chuuya to start living on campus. Verlaine said no. Mori wants to make Verlaine , + Chuuya when he graduates, work for him.

The flags aren’t really sure what to do and Chuuya can’t move onto campus without permission and so. They decide to try and summon the spirit of the old principle to get him to tell Mori to leave them alone without him realising it was them. Chuuya says it’s a stupid idea. Albatross says it’ll be fine. What’s the worst that can happen?

Instead they manage to summon the ancient horror Arahabaki.

A lotttttt of psychedelic shit happens. Arahabaki wants at least one soul in exchange for the other’s freedom. Chuuya sacrifices himself and the rest of the flags are left reeling. Albatross yells at the Ancient horror god that there has to be something they can do to get their friend back.

Arahabaki says it wants 100 souls in exchange for Chuuya’s. In thirty days. The flags have to kill them all before delivering the bodies to Arahabaki as proof.

… what the fuck.

Arahabaki: this town is too peaceful. I want chaos. And souls. And blood.

So now. A group of 17-19 year olds have to try and kill 100 people in 30 days without getting caught. With an ancient horror haunting them with their currently dead friend’s body and voice. One of them has to tell Verlaine. And Adam. No one wants to tell Dazai. Exams are in exactly 36 days.

I call it How to Kill 100 people in 30 days. The title font looks like a romcom
