K & S <3
thank you for the ask<333 Answering these out of order just in incase u wanna avoid the angsty answer
S: Any fandom tropes you can't resist?
-Oohhh I love a one bed trope—either platonically or romantically (but I ike both those set ups to be a bit different tho) -hurt/comfort  <333 bc I live for angst  -I love an enemies to friends to lovers. Just adore watching two people’s relationships grow and change thorough years, slowly coming to see eye to eye, forming an unbreakable bond and falling in love. But theres always that teasing nagging way they pick on each other present —So also love a slow burn !   -Also have recently been very into historical aus! Its so much fun to research and the possibilities and different periods are endless!
K: What's the angstiest idea you've ever come up with?
Oh god there are so many to pick from, published and unpublished. I loveeee angst, and making myself cry ahah  Most recently I’ve been working on something w my oc—not sure if it’ll make it in the long fic or not but its about how she deals with the concept of motherhood and failures and the lingering loss of war/shinobi life.
Putting it under the cut just in case tw pregnancy, miscarriage/still birth?, Death, grief
Akami sustained a pretty severe injury in the field as a teen (Danzo’s failed assassination attempt) she managed to drag herself home, but was forced to very poorly patch the wound herself with fire and ice. As a result was told she couldn’t have kids—she was young at the time and so focused on Anbu it never bothered her.  Sasuke changes things, and after 4 years of domestic bliss miraculously she finds herself pregnant—she has lots of conflicting feelings about it, considering both sasuke/kakashi’s thoughts and making them worse in her mind. Akami's relationship with her own mother had always been strained--feeling unloved and unwanted by Umiko.  They eventually decide to go for it—though she makes it rather far along, it doesn’t last due to her old injury. It nearly kills her.  So does the loss, not only because of the death but because of her self-perceived failures and inability to create life. She feels more like a monster than ever, because all she’ll ever be good for is death and decay. She feels rotten from the inside out.  It strains her relationship with both Kakashi and Sasuke, not because of the loss but because of her anger, shutting down and shutting them out.
If you made it this far sorry ik it's a lot haha😅I have a lot written for it, idk how it happened sort of just spiraled from me one day—I feel like it might be too much, so not sure if it’ll ever make it to the long fic, but I find myself thinking about it often, and adding more to it often—probably b/c of my own confusing thoughts on motherhood.

Before writing Les Mis, Hugo’s beloved 19-year-old daughter Leopoldine tragically drowned. As a result Les Mis is full of drowning imagery— drowning as a a symbol of impossible grief and loss, drowning as a symbol of being left behind by a society that doesn’t care about protecting your life, drowning as a method of suicide.
The les mis letters chapter today is the first chapter where Hugo highlights the drowning imagery that becomes central to the rest of the novel. The horrible symbolic death Valjean suffers as a result of being entirely isolated and forgotten by a society that doesn’t value his life is also foreshadowing of Javert’s eventual death.
Throughout the novel, Eponine also frequently talks about her desire to drown herself in the Seine; Thenardier monologues about how “the river is the true grave” and when bodies fall in it “justice makes no inquiries;” later Valjean escapes prison by faking his death by drowning, and so on and so on. There’s this emphasis that drowning doesn’t just mean death, it means erasing yourself from existence. It means you’re forgotten.
One of the saddest references to the death of Leopoldine is the way Valjean and Javert learn about the other’s death (or “death.”)
Hugo learned about his daughter’s death not from a family member/friend, but by reading about it in a newspaper. He was on vacation away from his family at the time. He was reading the news in a cafe and happened to stumble on an article about Leopoldine’s horrible tragic drowning, which was how he first learned that she was dead.
When Javert learns about Valjean’s “death” in prison (when Valjean pretends to drown in order to escape), he learns about it by reading it in the newspaper. When Valjean learns about Javert’s death by drowning, he learns about it by reading it in the newspaper.
So…yeah :(. Les Mis is full of all these agonized metaphors around drowning (as a metaphor for death/grief/being entirely forgotten by the people around you) and part of that comes from Hugo’s own deep personal trauma around the death of death of his daughter.

4.14.1:
“And, above all,” said Enjolras, “let us raise the flag again.” He picked up the flag, which had fallen precisely at his feet.
5.1.23:
Enjolras, pierced by eight bullets, remained leaning against the wall, as though the balls had nailed him there. Only, his head was bowed. Grantaire fell at his feet, as though struck by a thunderbolt
Many things seem to fall at Enjolras' feet.

Anne remembered that Miss Cornelia had given her a very different impression of Leslie’s mother. But had not love the truer vision?
NO, Anne, for heaven’s sake, no. Even taking into account Miss Cornelia’s bias, there is no way Rose West comes out of this story as anything but the villain of the piece. Even in other versions of this story as told in short stories (i.e, Only a Common Fellow, Four Winds), it’s never a mother who sells her daughter into sexual slavery so she can stay in her house. There’s no way to paint that as anything less than horrific.
Still, it *was* selfish of Rose West to make her daughter marry Dick Moore.
I’m glad you can at least admit that much, Anne! I do love your desire to think the best of people (as shown even in your younger years in your attempt to defend the women who raised you prior to Green Gables as meaning to be kind), but there are limits.
It’s amazing to me how I could read Anne’s House of Dreams as a kid and recognize the inherent tragedy of Leslie’s story without in the least understanding its implications, and then read it as an adult and realize that Rose West made her daughter marry an abusive r@pist so that she wouldn’t have to get kicked out of her house—granted Leslie claims that Rose never knew how bad Dick was, it’s still appalling.
(As a kid it was the bit about Kenneth that hit me the hardest, especially Leslie having seen his face as he was killed and never being able to forget it. I wonder if naming her own son Kenneth was an attempt to replace the old horror of that with new memories?)

I'm late with this translation note for today's chapter but it feels really important. The line I want to highlight in Hapgood reads:
“Suicide, that mysterious act of violence against the unknown which may contain, in a measure, the death of the soul, was impossible to Jean Valjean.”
In French the first part of that line is “Le suicide, cette mystérieuse voie de fait sur l’inconnu...”
The expression translated as "act of violence" is "voie de fait," which is specifically the legal term "assault / battery," and can also be more generally an unlawful act.
"Voie" means way/route/road/lane, and "fait" is a fact/event/occurrence (coming from the verb faire = to do or to make). To help understand the literal meaning of the expression, let's look at its counterpart, "Voie de droit," which has a more straightforward translation in English as "legal recourse," i.e. "path of the law." Now if we turn back to the expression that means "assault" or "an unlawful act," it's describing the path of the fact, the event that occurred, the thing that was done.
The unlawful nature of this act is highlighted by the use of this expression, especially in its direct opposition with "the way of the law" (musical, anyone?). It seems particularly important to me that this expression is used to describe a course of action which Javert, who clings to the law above all else, will soon take.

Currently I'm trying to figure out why time from lu and time from lm would be so different from each other logically rather than the easier answer of "most people pretray the same character in different ways". So logically what would happen in lu times life that made him so different from lm time? Well my mind instantly went to trauma because people are different people will react to trauma differently and both hero of times have a unhealthy amount of trauma so logically they probably reacted to the trauma differently. Some people if they've gone through something traumatic and survived it will believe that people who could go through similar trauma will also survive it and might even be pricks about it without realizing it. Lu time seems to be a case of someone accepting their trauma and trying to live with it, and lm time seems to be a person who believes that everyone else should be able to react to trauma the same way he did?
Another difference is lu time never found his navi and lm time did find navi again (even though why anyone would bother looking for her is beyond me but link is a wierd kid so whatever) so lu time is still sad about losing his navi while lm time got to spend a lot more time with navi. maybe that is also a factor for why these two people who have very similar experiences are so different from each other? If we take hyrule warriors characterization of time he was apparently a little jerk so perhaps lm time just never grew up from that so that if he ever met warriors again warriors would recognize his attitude? Also heres another big difference lu time is married! Currently we're unaware if lm time is married at all, so lu time probably gets a lot of joy and works through his trauma because he has someone in his life he loves so much. I dont think malon would marry this version of time but perhaps lm time is married to someone other than malon or just isn't married at all?
wow! what a mouthful XDDD lovely!! so we all imagine the Links differently when we are playing the games- he absolutely has some trauma, a lot of issues that I'm not even gonna go into rn. my Time is kinda stuck if that makes sense? he is an adult, yes. but his maturity is way behind. he is also doing it on purpose XD as to whether he is married or not- well, it is complicated ^^

Ethel Traverse's engagement aesthetic.
She was like a diamond; beautiful, bright, shimmering, astonishing. And for the time being, I almost forgot... almost forgot that diamonds, aside from their undeniable beauty, are also cold, hard and sharp enough to cut glass.

"She was very beautiful. And I loved her. Oh, yes, I loved her. I won’t deny it or belittle it now. It was a lonely, romantic boy’s first passionate love, and it was very real. And I thought she loved me. I was fool enough to think that. I was wildly happy when she promised to marry me. For a few months. Then—I found out she didn’t."
(The Blue Castle by L. M. Montgomery)
The idea inspired by the fic by @no-where-new-hero.
