Supercorp fic idea based on "no body, no crime" by Taylor Swift

Lena and Sam have their weekly diner, Sam gets entirely too sloshed on Lena's fancy wine and confesses that she thinks Ruby's father has been cheating on her, its driving her insane and she can't sleep. Lena is fucking livid bc how dare he??? Sam's a fucking catch. Tall, hot, mouth like a trucker, but that makes up her charm.

Sam says she can't prove it but she knows something's wrong

Lena totally doesn't bully her intern at LCorp, Winn Schott, to hack into Sam's husband's accounts and she finds some interesting things like how the mistress is, in fact, Andreas Rojas, and that they'd been laundering money from her business together (to what purpose? idk man, shady shit).

Lena brings all this evidence to the police, she's put into contact with Detective Kara Danvers. Kara automatically thinks it's fake because Andrea and Lena are corporate rivals and so Lena's like fine asshole, I'll do your job myself. She loads her revolver, flicks the the barrel into place and interrogates Sam's husband (do we even know his name???), anyways it goes poorly and he reports Lena. Kara shows up at her door the day after "I really didn't think when you said you were gonna do my job, that you were actually being serious." "A Luthor's words shouldn't be taken lightly, Miss Danvers." "What the hell were you thinking?? Intimidating a key witness in an on-going investigation?" "I thought there was no case, Detective?" it's 2PM but Lena pours herself a scotch on the rocks. Kara removes her suit jacket and loosens her tie as they go over case notes and Lena's like damn she kinda fine but blames it on the scotch cause she's still annoyed she got unjustly pegged as a corporate shark.

Ruby is kidnapped, but its the husband who turns up dead.

Sam confesses to Lena she's the one who killed him, Lena tells her bet ima take care of the body. Disposes of it in a lake like fucking Dexter Morgan. She's too good at covering up the crime, and leads Kara astray to protect Sam.

When Sam's interogated Lena swears she was with her.

But Tommy wearing nail polish would be amazing.

Maybe he'd hide it from buck at first because he's not sure if he'd like it or what he thinks of guys wearing nail polish, and he makes sure to take it off whenever buck comes over or they go out on a date or something

Only one day buck stops by unannounced and finds Tommy working on some new art project - and wearing nail polish.

He tries to convince buck it was just Sal's kid that painted his nails, or the kids from number 642 down the road, and buck pretends to believe him and just lets it go - until he sees bottles of nail polish in Tommy's bathroom and eventually gets Tommy to admit he wears nail polish every now and then because he just likes the look of it.

And buck is nothing if not a supportive boyfriend and gets Tommy to paint his nails for him in a colour he thinks would look good.

And since the LAFD regulations don't say anything about nail polish (idk if that's true but just go with it) he wears it to work - and gives Gerrard's homophobic ass a coronary. And he ends up having to retire and Bobby can come back as captain of the 118, and all is right in the world again.

All because of Tommy's painted nails.

(and soon the entire 118 and families are regulars at a nearby nail salon)

holy crap my big brain figured out Havers' war timeline all because the Captain mentioned the 1st Royal Tank Regiment. [Tangent Incoming]

Havers' medals, specifically for his military campaigns, are the Africa Star, Italy Star, and the France & Germany Star.

The 1st RTR was first involved in North Africa since the beginning. We know Havers went there until the end. The 1st RTR then went to Italy later into the Italian campaign on September 1943. However, the 1st RTR left in 1944 for D-Day. After D-Day, the 1st RTR joined the Allies in Germany for the final year of the war. This was how Havers gained the France & Germany Star.

Havers staying with this regiment literally tracks with his military achievement like o h my god. And, you can in fact get a medal for a brief posting at a campaign, just as long you've contributed on the operation for a day, you are qualified for a medal.

I think the kids are waiting at the sun tree. They've never really done that before. Sleeping by the sun tree. But as they watched their parents and their friends disappear, with fear in their eyes, it was a day full of firsts.

Wolfe ends up running off in a sort of fit. Leona runs after him. They both feel more at home in the woods. They probably went there to calm down. Vesper, as the oldest, decided she needed to get some things in order. Just in case.

And Gwen was going to leave, sneak into her father's office, past all his traps and rigging, until she notices Vax just standing there. Staring at the seams in the bark that aren't really there. She watched him collapse, sitting crisscross on the roots.

So she stayed. She sat next to her big brother, close and leaning on him. Though, she wasn't there looking for support. She had watched his cocky, teenage attitude melt away into a panic. Vax'ildan was panicking.

"They'll be okay," she told him. "They're the heros of the realm. They'll save uncle Vax and the world and come home." She sounded so sure. He had to believe she was right.

They stay there though. For hours. It might have been the most time the pair ever spent with each other. The sun starts wane and their home turns golden and their parents aren't back yet.

Leona and Wolfe come back, their faces red and a little dirty. They hadn't even taken their leathers off. Like they were going home when they saw their siblings still waiting. They flank their siblings, Leona wrapping an arm around Vax's shoulder and Wolfe taking Gwen's hand. Also contented to wait.

The sky is purple by the time Vesper came with blankets, pillows, and large boxes from The Slayer's Cakes. She had all of her siblings favorites picked out. Trinket 's bear claws for Leona. Sun treats for Gwendolyn. Trayon's Blondies for Vax. Keyleth 's almond bark for Wolfe. And her own personal favorite Everlight-as-Air Scones. She brought enough to count as dinner. She wasn't their head of household. She was their big sister. She didn't need to make sure they ate well or went to bed on time. That wasn't her job. Not yet.

The stars were out that night for them, granting them the family time that they desperately needed. They laughed and stole each other's pastries. They danced around any subject related to parents or their aunts and uncles away. Hunting and tinkering and spying were all fair game. The twins fought, Vax'ildan rolled his eyes and they got him to smile. Gwen listened carefully. Vesper counted the hours since their parents left.

She thought the sun might rise and they'd never see them again. She thought they would have to gather their things in the morning sun and start their new lives emerging from the roots on the sun trees. She thought-

The bark of the sun tree cracked and groaned as it split. All of the De Rolo children held their breaths. Aunt Pike, Uncle Scanlan (in centaur form?), the ashari man, Uncle Grog, a very beautiful and very scary elf woman.

Then father. Then mother hanging on the arm of a strange man they recognized immediately.

I Feel TFOne Could've Handled This Better...

Hot take but I feel like folks have been really generous with the take that OP was unable to find ~the perfect words~ in the heat of the moment (and thus should be given some grace) when he told D to stand down and "not be like Sentinel"... namely cuz I don't feel that the narrative supports this?

Like-- after all is said and done, OP doesn't reflect on that part of their split. He doesn't have a moment where he seeks validation or voices his regrets over the choice of his words, it's actually cut-and-dry. The narrative (as it stands) supports that OP saw D-16 acting up, so he called him out and stood on business, down to the last scenes where he's basically like "yeah it's a shame but y'all knew I had to do it to 'em."

It didn't have to be much! I'm not saying to absolve Megs, just show OP looking at things from a different perspective/contemplating a bit on that tough choice and the morality of the moment. Some examples of what I wish we had:

B-127 straight up blurting the obvious by later chatting with Orion like, "Wait so you told your best friend that he was acting just as bad as the guy who enslaved us for our entire lives and was torturing him like an hour ago? Oof. Seems kinda harsh." Then have some of OP's regret show on his face.

OP asking Elita-1 after Megs is banished if he did the right thing. Have Elita back his choice up, saying, "You should have seen what he did after you were... gone. It was terrifying. I know it was tough, but you made the right call." OP is grateful for the support, but a conflicted look still flashes across his face before he steels himself to look out towards the horizon... and the future.

Have OP walk past other mechs/former miners who didn't go with the High Guard saying stuff like, "Wish I could've given Sentinel a piece of my mind!" "Yeah, but I'm glad he's gone for good." "Ugh I miss everything." "Oh, it was crazy! Megatron picked him up and then he rrrrriiipped-- oops, hey there, Mr. Optimus... Prime... sir?" And have OP wave hello, looking a bit sick when they leave.

Post-credits scene with Starscream going on and on, asking Megs when they'll be back to teach the upstart Prime a lesson. Megs grabs his face to shut him up. "Patience, Starscream. The Prime thinks I'm no better than Sentinel... but I'll show him. He wants Iacon? He can have it. In the meantime we'll take the rest of the planet! Then I'll come back, crush Prime under my heel, and we'll take Iacon too. Sentinel's reign will barely be a footnote, because I'm about to become Optimus Prime's worst nightmare." The vocal performance would really need to sell this-- like picture Megs saying something like that from a place of anger and hurt, not so much a place of genuine evil or malice.

Basically instead of Orion's assertion being backed up as black and white/good vs bad, I wish we had some different opinions/reactions from the characters sprinkled in there. Like you can't tell me out of allllll the miners who weren't strong enough/willing to go with the High Guard and ended up sticking around that NONE of them were like "eyyo honestly?? Kiiiiinda glad Sentinel is dead. Wish I could have helped, tbh." like come onnnnn...

And you can't even argue that he's not an active threat-- I don't think everyone would see things that way! It's not just about the threat he physically has, but the threat he represents and is very likely to act upon if given the opportunity! He has a proven track record of not only being sneaky and conniving, but also capable of dealing some serious damage/killing people bigger and stronger than him, plus he has the backing of the Quints. All he'd need to do is wriggle his way out of jail and run off to his sponsors, then he'd probably be back to hurt more people! (If the Quints didn't just kill him out of incompetence lmao). There's a lot of "ifs" here, but I think it's a valid argument that not everyone would agree on what is the right or wrong way to handle Sentinel once he was down long enough to, like, do something about him.

I feel the situation needed a bit of nuance. In some way I wish they had kicked the can and had D and Orion bicker while Sentinel escaped, then have D get frustrated enough by the loss of Sentinel to point fingers (and his fusion canon) at Orion, who then falls and becomes OP. (Megs could still show some of thar emotion/remorse right after he does it too.) Not only would this open the door for a sequel, but tbh the Quint might have just killed Sentinel anyways and sought to deal with the miners uprising themselves lol. (Maybe that could have been an after credits scenes too instead of the B-127 bit??)

Would love to see a moment in a sequel where they have a calmer moment after arguing for a bit. Have OP mention how Megs was out of line, that it hurt and even scared him to see him act that way, and Megs can quietly point out "you said I was as bad as Sentinel... is that really how you see me? After everything we went through?"

Then OP can fumble the bag again lmao like "D, I... I'm sorry, that didn't come out right... but you still took things way too far..."

"Why am I not surprised-- your opinion is what matters the most! Maybe that's why you became a Prime, since you're so good at acting like the world revolves around you--!"

Finally had the chance to listen to the new saga a couple of times more and I ended up enjoying it a lot more. I was initially conflicted after watching the livestream but it ended up growing on me.

The windbag jetpack and the anime boss battle is a bit too out there for me but I respect Jorge for being loyal to his vision and what he wanted to do.

But in my mind, Ody just used a bit of wind to get high and opened the bag fully to strike Poseidon with the full force of the storm. Poseidon was completely caught off guard and thats why he dropped his trident

And I know some people have mixed feelings about it but I love the torture, it makes Poseidon face the monster he helped create, bringing back Scylla to mind since both are monsters Poseidon leaves/will leave alone and its so tragic for Odysseus to go "Look at what I have become" Poor guy is broken but is satisfying to see him get back to at least one of his tormentors.
