But as he stuffs it into the trash can before grabbing some paper towels to try and clean up his chest the best he could, he decides this was the last time he tried to be helpful. If he had known stepping in between the fuckwad and the crying college student would get him covered in a mess this big, he’d have just kept going on his merry way.

This is literally one of my favorite moments for both Harry Kim and B’Elanna characterization. I think a lot of people forget how soft hearted and altruistic B’Elanna specifically can be while Harry, of course a friendly and sweet individual, devotes himself most often to the mission, his friends and Starfleet’s ideals. Harry’s been shown to be much more down-to-earth and less fantastical in his thinking than either Tom or B’Elanna. The only time he gets in major trouble with Janeway and breaks protocol is because he wants to be with a woman. This is distinctly different to me than Tom’s (attempting to save an alien world) and B’Elanna’s (giving a robot race the ability to reproduce) transgressions. His other biggest infraction is begin a mutiny which he does in order to save Janeway & Chakotay. He doesn’t get in trouble for this which is why I put it last but again it seems different from Tom or B’Elanna to me because it’s For The Ship it’s For The Captain it’s a crime which displays his loyalty to Janeway instead of one which demonstrates him going against her ideologically (as shown by the lack of punishment). In that way I think B’Elanna and Harry balance each other well. B’Elanna is a person who seems very nervous and defensive when in conversation with others, who thinks of herself as a person who is ‘bad’ and doesn’t believe in herself much. Meanwhile Harry seems to be at ease with most anyone he speaks to, attempting to befriend even Seven of Nine right away. He’s confident in himself and his abilities and out of everyone (yes even Tom who seems most often to just become frustrated) would be the one to push B’Elanna and break through her defenses. That’s to say it makes perfect sense that B’Elanna would be absolutely enamored by this person who views her as inspiring, would be struck by that while Harry views it as just a weird question.

ashiro mina as a character is so interesting to me because she’s such a Big Thing in the kn8 universe and everyone respects her and she’s well known for having this niche skill/speciality nobody else can replicate but she’s also sooooo distant. and even when it comes to official merch/art sometimes she doesn’t appear (no volume cover, not included in that game collab, etc) and it’s just like.. when you compare her to hoshina for example who is rightfully a very popular character because of how much we see of him in the manga it’s just. IDK WHAT I WANNA SAY i’m not bitter (yes i am) that she doesn’t get as Much as she could’ve because i know it’s purposefully done (dragging her story out, showing her pov only 100 chapters later) but ARGHHHH ashiro mina i want to know more about you so bad.

Using these two articles from Famitsu and 4Gamer, I’ve found more information that didn’t get put into any of the translated articles for some reason. There’s also this video of the press conference which helped as well.

(I had to make do with Google translate of course so the translation isn’t perfect so don’t take it too literally, but it still allowed for me to get an understanding of what type of stuff they talked about.)

•Something brought up quite a bit is the differences in the time periods. With change within the characters and the setting itself. They’re really honing in on that. It also seems the series goes back and forth between ‘95 and ‘05.

•They might be referring to Kiryu throwing himself in jail for Nishiki as a mistake which I find very interesting.

•Ryoma was told by the director, Take, to not imitate Kiryu to a T, and instead, add his own spin on the character. Something Ryoma notes is that Kiryu is “affectionate and hungry for love.” Which is very interesting.

•Ryoma got super dedicated to his role. So much so that he stated it was partly him and partly Kiryu, but he couldn’t separate him from himself. He also said he trained physically for months, and Take states that he did his own stunt work and fighting.

•Interestingly, through the body of work, the director also wants to make a point about the pointlessness of fighting which is certainly painting a picture for me. I imagine it’ll really affect the main plot’s conflict.

•The underground coliseum will be featured as I learned through this clip. Also, contains a little more about Ryoma fighting on his own.

•The most important bit of info, however, is this. Full stop.

•The eyes being drawn onto the dragon on the gold screen was intended to be a prayer ceremonial gesture to hope for the future of the live action. Thusly, Ryoma blessed it.

alsooooo btwwwww ive been thinking of timeline stuff for my kirbyverse and i think like, for the most part all the main series games are in chronological order except for kirby super star (ultra), which chronologically happens first. super star is basically kirby’s origin story and how he became the hero of dreamland and popstar 

(i also like it bc super star ultra was kumazaki’s first real kirby game as director and thats the start of his modern kirby content so its like a new beginning for that era as well as being the start of kirby’s journey)
