"As an ice dancer, and especially as a queer person growing up that didn't know she was queer, seeing different stories represented and different partnering, different types of identities on the ice, would have been very liberating to me."
Kaitlyn Weaver, reacting to the excellent Skate Canada policy that ice dancers or pairs team can now be composed of any two athletes. That’s just wonderful news!

Help for Alberta authorities’s payments pertaining to gender identification
The Alberta authorities has launched a trio of payments that may influence how the transgender neighborhood is handled on this province. The controversial laws has sparked outrage from many inside Alberta’s transgender neighborhood. Nonetheless, some say the insurance policies look out for the most effective curiosity of youth. Kellie Lynn Pirie calls herself a de-transitioner. Born biologically…

“I don’t support people that don’t have room in their hearts for my son,” said Marc Savoie.
Savoie, who has been vice-president of the association for five years and interim president since June, informed the riding association on Sunday of his decision.
“I can’t support my son and support (Higgs) at the same time. It doesn’t align with one another,” said Savoie, who added he plans to remain a member of the party in general.
“So I’m at peace with my decision. My family comes first, and that’s what it is. That’s where I am.”

A new book, published earlier this fall, documents Newfoundland and Labrador's queer history, highlighting those who helped push the queer movement across the province, country and the world. Author Rhea Rollmann, who spent years compiling more than 150 interviews and pieces of archival material through her journalistic reporting, told CBC News she created A Queer History of Newfoundland to fill in that work and document a history that has largely been unwritten. "It's hard to describe just how powerful it was. I knew we had a powerful queer history, but I didn't know just how deep it was," Rollmann said Tuesday.

Queer love is magical. It teaches you that love can exist in so many forms outside the heteronormative narratives that are taught to us when we are young. If people only saw it for its power than hatred, we would be so much further advanced in understanding concepts of love.
The rise of Anti-Trans rhetoric and Anti-Queer rhetoric is another rejection of love that is not bound to heteronormative values. The truth is that when my Queer / Trans BIPOC friends are constantly being harmed, shamed, and threatened to be removed from the planet that's another example of how white supremacy wants to uproot us. It's forgotten that the fossils below the ground have always stored Queer ecological memories. People oppose our existence. The way we rise from the depths of the soil is through nurturing our networks for survival. If only people saw queer love as a way to embrace multifaceted values of kinship, care, and understanding.
If we saw queer love that way, our "leaders" wouldn’t be focusing on trying to ban drag shows. Many of those who decide to choose violence want us to be removed from life itself. We decide to spread love despite the hatred we get - we choose the rawest form of love which is to hope they continue to find the pain that hurts them and heal unresolved trauma that's redirected to the entirely wrong group of people.
Queerness is an embodiment of living in co existence with others. If you don’t like that, then you are the issue.

"Before 1492, hundreds of Indigenous communities across North America included people who were called aakii''skassi, miati, okitcitakwe, or one of hundreds of other tribally specific identities. These individuals identified as neither male nor female, but both. After European colonizers invaded Indian Country, centuries of violence and systematic persecution followed, imperiling the existence of people who today call themselves Two-Spirits, an umbrella term that started being used in 1990, when a group of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender Natives met at an annual gathering, searching for language that would celebrate Indigenous diversity throughout North America. They decided on Two-Spirits, which is derived from the North Algonquin word niiz manidoowag and denotes the existence of feminine and masculine qualities in a single person."
Louis Roe, for Reclaiming Two-Spirits: Sexuality, Spiritual Renewal & Sovereignty in Native America, written by George D. Smithers.
