Being an ally isn't just "I don't hate this marginalised group", thats neutrality
Being an ally means supporting and helping those marginalised groups when facing bigotry, and yeah, that support and help means that occasionally, you have to give up some things, be it a game, a online creator, a musician, etc.
If you can't do the bare minimum of showing support, you're not an ally. You never were

While I was walking in the parade, I saw a man giving out free hugs. I pointed and said, "That's awesome!" "Do you want one?" I walked over, and he gave me the tightest hug I've ever had. As he hugged me, he said, "I'm so glad you're here, kiddo." Let me just say, it was incredibly hard not to cry when I walked away. Even as I type this, I'm crying. In a world filled with such hatred for transfolk right now, it meant the entire world to me to hear that.
To all my fellow LGBTQ+ who don't have a supportive parent or family, I want you to know that you are so, so very loved, even by strangers you've never met. Your life matters, and the world is a better place with you in it. I'm so, so proud of you for being who you are, for wearing your colors with pride, inside or out. You belong here, on this earth, and it's such a blessing that you are here. When you don't feel supported, know that somewhere, there is someone in the world who wishes to lift you up. Someone who would cheer you on. Someone who would give you a free hug. This pride month, remember how wonderful you are. How valid and lovely and special and important you are. You deserve to be here, you deserve to be proud, and most of all, you deserve to be happy. Happy pride month to us all. 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️

saw someone yelling at some poor white and suposedly cishet guy at pride and like, do they know how stupid they sound? That maybe cishet guy could have been queer himself, he could be related to a queer person, or dating one. And you, that all dosnt even matter because we should be glad a white cishet man gives enough of a shit about queer folk to come to pride to celebrate and protest with us.
Do not yell at or attack cishet white guys at pride, you just look like a fucking idiot who's been in an echo chamber for too long.
Pride events are for EVERYONE who's there to celebrate pride. EVERYONE.

I was talking to my sister the other day about a Polish queer movie called "Hiacynt" (Hyacinth) which is called "Operation Hyacinth" in most non-Slavic countries, since their citizens are less likely to understand that's what the title is referring to.
When I showed my sister the trailer she went:
Her: Oh, so it's a gay movie?
Me: Yes. Why did you think it was called Hyacinth?
Her: What?
Me: You know, like the operation Hyacinth. That time the government created the "pink files" on gay men and transgender people to blackmail them and isolate from society. That literally happened only 34 years ago and the files exist to this day in police's archives.
And she just didn't know about this… because it never effected her… because straight people just don't bother with learning queer history.
What…

Helpful explanation of he/him lesbians!!
So I've seen alot of people confused about the existence of he/him or they/them lesbians and how that's possible, so I'd like to clear that up!
Simply put, pronouns do not equal gender (and neither does sex, obviously). He/him lesbian does not mean male lesbian. If you are a woman, cis or trans, you do not necessarily have to use she/her pronouns. Your pronouns are whatever you want them to be, and so is your gender, and they do not at all dictate eachother.
Examples of he/him lesbians:
-Many butch lesbians use he/him pronouns because it matches their masculine-leaning presentation. Some could also be fluid or polygender into masculine genders.
-Some trans men/enbies who are very early into their transition may also still feel comfortable calling themselves lesbians (such as myself! Even though I'm transmasc and would not like to be called a woman, I would still rather be called a lesbian than a straight man. Maybe later into my transition, that might change.)
-Some enbies are also fluid or polygender into feminine genders and could at times be considered lesbians, no matter their pronouns
I hope that this explanation has been helpful! Together as the LGBTQ+ community and allies, let's all keep learning to understand eachother and help make the world a safer, happier place!

Correcting Pronouns
Can we talk about how uncomfortable it is to correct somebody on your pronouns around other people you don’t know?
Like even when they tell you, oh please correct me, but like… if we’re in front of people whom I’ve never met… no probably not because I don’t know if exposing that information to these people is going to get me hate crimed or not.
Like, props to the allies for catching yourself, but if we’re in front of new people and you slip up, if I don’t correct you, let it pass please. If I want them to know I’ll correct you, but that’s not always information I want publicized.
Especially if the people we’re meeting are upper adults. I am at risk here. I do not stand on the same power level, if they choose to weaponize this against me, correcting them will do nothing.
You respect me, but I don’t know if they do, and I can’t take that risk.
