This weekend in London has been an EXPERIENCE with so many things happening, I am still not fully able to process everything. However, one of my favourite pics to emerge from this whirlwind of a weekend is this one: Me, as Mr Brown, at London Comic Con with @claudiamurachelli as Aziraphale and @arisinparis as Crowley.
It was so much fun, so much input, so many Good Omens fans and overall so many steps ;__;
Overall though - I did not expect to be mobbed by a flock of Aziraphales during our GO Meetup at the Con. I'm sure there is many more pic I haven't even seen yet. But I wanted to share some of the really good ones :)
Pls observe my horrified expression due to the one Crowley on the side, who is glaring at me oh so glarefully. Also sorry about not properly tagging all of the Aziraphales, but I do not know all of y'alls socials ^^°

I met Kristy at #TheIneffableCon5 this year, however I also do not have any socials to tag properly. Honestly hope it's okay to share this pic mindfully and consensually, same as she was when she asked whether it was okay for me to be run over by her flaming Bentley.

An angel and a demon resumed their dance at a bookshop in London this weekend

We're Back Baby!
So, after nearly two years of radio silence, we're finally back! Sorry about that everyone, we've been having a hard time maintaining our social media presence, and this place felt the brunt of it. But we're now back and with a brand new social media manager, who should make sure we never go this quiet again.
Now, for those who have forgotten who we are, and those who discover us now thanks to this post, a quick introduction:
We're the Language Creation Society, a California-based non-profit organisation with international reach and membership. Our main purpose is the promotion and furthering of the art, craft and science of language creation (conlanging) through conferences, books, journals, outreach activities, or other means (like literally, it's in our articles of incorporation and everything!). Basically, we're an organisation of conlangers, for conlangers, and for conlanging as a whole.
How do we do this? By many means. We've got a Jobs Board for conlangers who want to practice their craft professionally. It's set up so as to ensure people who do conlanging for others are paid fairly for their work (it's a work in progress) and don't end up in disadvantageous contracts. For people who are interested in doing something conlang-related academically, we've got the LCS Presidents' Scholarship, which is a (modest) amount of money we award to people with interesting academical projects that align with our main purpose. For general conlang-related projects, we've got the LCS Grants (currently the most famous project we supported financially is probably the Conlanging, The Art of Crafting Tongues film, the first full-length documentary on conlanging ever made). But our main article is the Language Creation Conference, for many conlangers the only way for them to ever meet other conlangers face to face. So far we've organised 8 face-to-face conferences in North America and Europe (all with live streaming and online participation for those who couldn't join), one online-only conference (thanks COVID), and due to circumstances outside our control our next conference will be online-only as well. But we'll get back to doing face-to-face conferences someday!
Of course, all these activities cost money. Which is why we encourage people to join our organisation as a member, which will give you many benefits, including the power to help decide what we actually do. The more people join us, the more we can do to help conlangers and conlanging as a whole. Not just thanks to a larger budget (we fully depend on membership fees for our income, and everyone working at the LCS does so as an unpaid volunteer), but because you can bring your ideas to the table and help us provide the best support we can to the conlanging community in general and our members in particular.
So this is us. In the next weeks, expect more announcements from us as we pick up steam (I'll also share videos from the latest Language Creation Conference from our Youtube channel). In the meantime, feel free to reblog this post so everyone can be made aware of our return to Tumblr, and our Asks are also open to anyone who has any question concerning us or conlanging in general. We're here to support you, so don't hesitate to get in touch!

02 sequences and time
made a riso flipbook. lost years of my life doing this but i did really emjoy the process and outcome once i figured out what i was gonna do.
used a frame by frame breakdown of a concert video i took as the basis for it; wanted to capture dance and movement.
splitting the image channels for the three colours i wanted to use, 30 images, in 3 different colours. 90 in total?? dont remember exactly but it was really a lot.
risograph!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and trimming at guillotine
final bind! couldve been better, couldve been worse! still overall proud of this, will post the final prinnts seperately - riso is DEF worth a revisit.

Since I’ll be participating in the LCC 10 Conlang Relay and haven’t done one before, I decided to practice with materials from a previous LCC Conlang Relay!
The text above is a T’owal translation of my attempt at an English translation of a text in Teonaht, a conlang by Sally Caves, itself translated from English, from Jessie Sams (@quothalinguist)’s Hiutsath, from English, from David J. Peterson (@dedalvs)’s Dothraki. That’s the basic idea of a conlang relay: each person receives a text in someone else’s conlang with enough information to be able to translate it, and they produce a translation into their own language for the next person to use. Since the translations and conlang info from the LCC 5 Relay are all available here, I picked a spot in the relay and treated it as if I was next in line!
This practice was sort of “on easy mode” since I knew what the original text was, and Teonaht was surprisingly easy to translate from. A very cool language, too! Sometime soon I’ll practice again using a different past relay.
Regarding the audio, I’m annoyed that I forgot to start with the title, but not enough to go back and edit it in. My pronunciation was a little off in some spots; in particular, I kept mixing up hne and hné, which should have [ɛ] and [ej] as the vowel respectively. I also mixed up some instances of o [ɔ] and ó [ow]. ó well. Levuna’s pronunciation was perfect, though!
So anyway, here’s the English translation of the T’owal text above:

My child, come to me. Today you will leave your family and ride to the mountains. I will advise you before your journey. Don’t trust any turtle that speaks to you. Listen to these last words: you must not touch any plum tree. Those trees are your enemies. They will make all people hate you, your horse, and your ancestors. They are completely evil. I will hunt and kill you if you look one time at a plum tree. Know this: I will destroy you. Listen! You must not touch any plum tree. But their fruit is sweet. It may be eaten fresh or dried. It tastes great! Now you must ride, my child! Ride and scream like a goat!
