Would you be interested in doing some HCs for a mortem omega joining up with the league of villains? The league would probably be happy to encourage the more unsavory/violent tendencies in a mortem. Plus, mortem would be able to get a good rotation set up to help with heats. Dabi has a weak constitution, I'd be worried about him. On the other hand, Spinner may be packing double trouble thanks to gecko anatomy, so awkward lizard baby could be an unexpected favorite.
A/B/O League of Villains x Mortem Omega Reader
In this, the reader is a Mortem Omega who has a healing quirk. The following is about the reader and their interactions with the members and what they think of the reader and basic life within the league.
Dabi:
I’d headcannon that he’s an Apex alpha like his dad (something he both loves and hates about himself)
He smells like ash and wintergreen
He was amazed at the reader’s healing abilities as well as their ferocity. They can rip ‘em apart as well as they can heal ‘em
The reader heals his scars constantly but he just gets them right back
He encourages the reader to kill those who threaten the pack
He absolutely loves seeing the omega kill people
Your very protective and loyal to your pack
He’s rough and mean during his ruts. He loves to bite and smack the reader in their most sensitive areas. He’s almost sadistic in the way he’s rough
He a pretty decent mate, he’s very possessive during his ruts and marks the reader up
He loves making the reader cry and scream as he rips orgasm after orgasm out of them during their heat, he’s definitely someone to edge the poor omega
Tomura:
He’s an Apex Alpha but comes off as normal alpha due to his childish personality and behavior
He has a chalky petrichor scent mixed with a slight hint of pine
The reader tends to treat him almost like a pup in the sense that they’ll nuzzle him, cuddle him and try to nourish him by making him drink their milk (Mortems can produce milk if they’re with a pup. Their bodies will produce milk even if the pup isn’t their own, as long as the Mortem believes a pup is theirs, they’ll produce and try to feed them)
He considers the reader as his player 2 and is also very possessive of them
Tomura loves the omega’s attention and doesn’t mind that the reader babies him, he’ll still fuck them during his rut
Is rough and passionate in the sense that he’s more focused on his own pleasure that the reader’s
When the reader is in heat, he’ll fuck them and make them cum on his dick as he feasts on the readers milk and makes a mess of them
Mr. Compress:
I’d headcannon that he’s an alpha
He smells like charcoal and wine
He was originally afraid of the reader unlike the others. After the reader got used to him, he lost his sense of fear
He’s the most calm during his ruts, he’s more romantic and passionate and prefers lovemaking than just sex
Is very observant and focused on the reader’s pleasure during his ruts
During the reader’s heat, he’s the most focused on the reader’s pleasure and will happily use toys on them. He’ll use his quirk and shove as many marbles up into the reader as possible and makes them count each. After he’s fit as many as possible in them, he’ll make them push them out
Some marbles will get stuck so he’ll dig them out with his skilled fingers and tongue which drives the reader mad with pleasure and overstimulation
Kurogiri:
Most likely an alpha but could also be a beta
He smells like evergreen and ocean breeze
He’s sadly the most boring of the group since he doesn’t indulge in his rut (he’s a Nomu and he doesn’t really have to but can if he wants to)
He’s gone most of the time and acts more as a patriarch alpha (old alphas in a pack who lead but don’t have sex with the omegas)
Spinner:
I’d strongly headcannon him as a beta since he doesn’t really have a drive and is more of a go with the flow kind of guy
He definitely doesn’t realize that he kind of holds the group together as he’s the most chill and has the least powerful scent
He smells like musk and sage
He rarely participates in sex, as he does it the least out of the other males
He does have two dicks that the reader loves riding. Part of the reason why he doesn’t do it often is because twice the dicks, come with twice the sensations. He can be very sensitive mostly acts as a fill in for the reader’s heats
Twice:
Surprise, or not, he’s definitely an alpha, but I also think that one of his personalities is an omega or has an omega mindset
He smells like sweet orange and mint (his scents are contrasting like orange juice and toothpaste which most find gross but to reader it’s like a refreshing drink)
He’s actually the sweetest and most passionate of the males. He loves making the reader cum and also feeds on the reader’s milk
He’s pretty energetic and has some stamina so he’s actually one of the best at helping the reader through their heat
He’s so happy that he finally has an omega to call his own
He’s not as possessive so he’s open to sharing the reader during his ruts
Toga:
An Omega. Now hear me out. She wants someone to love her the way she is. Most people reject her based on her scent and it acts as a repellent for most people
She smells like sugar and blood
The reader originally found her and decided to follow her. That’s how the reader met the league, they wanted to protect Toga so they followed her to the hideout
Toga and the reader mostly sleep and snuggle during their shared heats.
They have a shared nest that’s just for the two of them
She loves how the reader isn’t afraid to get hurt and will happily share their blood with her
Loves tag team fighting and they work well together
Magne:
An Omega. Most people think she’s a beta since she’s built and has a more beta like scent but don’t be fooled, she’s a true Omega
She smells like cinnamon and spruce
The reader nests with her and Toga
The reader tried to Kill Overhaul for killing what they deemed as one of their omegas
Already has her own alpha so she leaves during the reader’s heat

You know what scene I still think about a lot? The conversation with Garaki and Mic.
Well, it's less of a conversation and more Garaki infodumping to cause as much emotional damage as possible before he gets his ass thrown in jail.
Still, all of the information we ever get surrounding nomu and Kurogiri specifically is so chilling. And if you've read the School Days arc in Vigilantes it's WORSE.
In Vigilantes, Oboro's death is framed by the narrative as an accident, a tragedy that comes as a result of educators and the government being too eager to throw prospective hero students into the world and out of their depth (wow I wonder where I've heard that scenario before). Shirakumo and Aizawa are in a fight they are not equipped to handle, and Shirakumo pays the price by protecting others over himself. He didn't do anything "wrong" for this to happen, but it happened anyway because the world doesn't care if you were in the right or not when it snuffs you out.
This isn't just a tragic backstory for Kurogiri, it frames Aizawa's entire mindset as he grows into an adult. His beliefs and unorthodox teaching methods come as a result of what he took away from thet tragedy. He emphasizes the unfairness of the world on the first day of class. He refuses to coddle his students. He's against the first years taking work studies. He fully intends to expel students who will not take this training or their own well being seriously because if he lets them stay, they're the next Shirakumo.
And then there's Garaki, all too happy to bring up Oboro to Mic as he's dragging his fat ass out of the lab. Because, you know, fun fact, that attack wasn't a coincidence at all. No bad luck, no wrong place wrong time, because that little work study team was All For One's target. He wanted a new quirk in his repertoire. It's just a shame that they got the wrong one. That erasure quirk would've been so useful. But, you gotta work with what life gives you, right?
Not only did that attack fundamentally change Aizawa as a person, but it was meant to kill him in Oboro's stead. And now Mic knows this. He knows that his best friend died in a deliberate attack to kill his other best friend. And with Midnight biting it not long after this, Mic has lost the last person chillingly aware of what happened to Shirakumo. The last person he would ever be able to tell outside of Aizawa himself. Mic has to sit there and mourn his coworker in Aizawa's hospital room, fully aware that Aizawa saw the lifeless body if their best friend because the intentional, avoidable attack killed the wrong person.
There's no way that Mic isn't aware of how Aizawa's behavior changed between becoming a student and becoming a teacher. He knows him too intimately to not see the difference, the callousness that grew from such a brutal life lesson, the hope that died in his eyes when faced with reality. But he can't say a word, not to him. He can't tell Aizawa that Oboro's death and Kurogiri's creation only came about because the target was on Aizawa's head. But he's forced to know that, carrying that forbidden knowledge to his grave in the hope Shouta never finds out.

What I'd Change about MHA
firstly, i'd put monoma in 1-a. i'd replace sato b/c i hate his character design and does he even do anything?
i'd make aizawa more of a stoic, scary looking guy but he just wants what's best for these kids. he doesn't lie to them or use ruses but he tends to push more and seems like a hardass to prepare them for the cutthroat life of heroics
i'd flesh out the characters more, their backstories, why they want to be heroes. i'd also build their relationships more. give them time to bond, spend time together outside of school without a disaster happening. filler type stuff
i like most of the plot up until the war arc, so i'd probably keep it, changing small things like stain. i think i'd make stain a former hero, like lady nagant, who saw corruption in his field and decided to handle it in the most extreme way. i would either get rid of stain attacking tensei or have it be a 'wrong place, wrong time' scenario where tensei found stain attempting to kill a different hero and wouldn't leave(similar to midoriya running in to save tenya)
ofa is one of the things about the og that annoys me. firstly, more than 9 users. probably 11-13. if it's supposed to be 2-3 hundred years since quirks, 9 doesn't make sense. especially since the first 3 were all around the same age and most of them died young. i'd also have more diverse users and quirks. i hate fa jin and gearshift, and danger sense and smokescreen don't make sense. blackwhip and float are great quirks. expand on the users' pasts as well. why were they chosen? what did they do with the quirk when they had it? also more izuku/vestige scenes. no random bakugou look alike user
i'd change a lot of the villain's stories. i'd change toga to actually be a victim of the system instead of just a blood-crazed lunatic. she was starved and didn't understand her cravings until she snapped and accidentally killed a classmate. from there, she's treated like a monster and pushed into the league who help her get the blood she needs which calms her down significantly. no wanting to become the people she loves and creepy harrasment of izuku and ochaco. just make her a scared teenage girl with no one else to go
as for shigaraki, when afo gets arrested show a slow change in his thought process, behavior, and lifestyle as he adjusts to life without the man who had been grooming and abusing him his entire life. make him realize afo isn't a helpful sensei but rather manipulating him. have him grow and reject afo and his ideas. have him start forming his own ideas of how he wants to change society
dabi is a tough one. i think i'd make him ostracized from his entire family. he had the quirk but not the body or mind for heroics. enji rejects him, rei can't stand his ambition, natsuo and fuyumi don't have anything in common and so he pushes them away, shoto is the masterpiece. this makes him more sullen and closed off. i'd have him run away instead of nearly dying and being save by afo. when he finds the league, he starts to open up more and develops more of a personality in this new family.
i wouldn't make kurogiri oboro. i think i'd scrap oboro as a whole. kurogiri is still a nomu but he has no ties to any heroes.
i'd have more people die in the war. more important heroes like all might, miruko, edgeshot, jeanist etc. bakugo stays dead, it's a tragedy that even someone as strong as him can't always win. maybe parents, friends, past classmates of the students because this is a war, collateral is going to happen. gran torino also should've died.
izuku: -make izuku's hair slowly turn white after he gets ofa so by the end it is completely white. this can be due to stress, having multiple quirks, getting a quirk when he didn't have one, etc. -all for one is his dad. this can explain why izuku can wield all of the past users' quirks, he's built to have multiple. now, this doesn't make afo a good person suddenly. he's still the man who groomed tenko and killed countless. maybe he just makes kids every now and then to get/make new quirks. it's just a game to him, he doesn't care about izuku or inko but it give izuku more personal stakes. -lean into izuku's analysis and intelligence more. -make monoma part of his friend group and have them bond over quirk analysis. -i think i'd make Mic his tutor. like how aizawa saw shinsou and decided to train him, mic sees izuku and his destructive quirk and decides to do something about it.
#livvytalks#mha#mha critical#anti mha#i have a lot of thoughts about this#i don't think i'd rewrite the whole thing#but it fell off so hard#izuku midoriya#monoma neito#one for all#dad for one#mha dabi#shigaraki tomura#toga himiko

Fundamental Flaws
So one interesting thing i noticed about the League's flaws, is that the things that kept them from working together at the start, remained the basic flaws that prevented them from helping each other overcome their own flaws.
Namely that they all joined together out of convinience, and they never really got to the level where that actually changed.
When Himiko joins the league, she introduces herself with her seemingly rather confusing motives, namely that she wants a world that is easier for her to live in.
Shigaraki does not understand her wishes at all, and of course lashes out shortly after this after dabi has introduced himself as well, having deemed both of them as not the sort he wants to hang around him.
Dabi by contrast doesnt even try to explain his motives or goals beyond the very vague "fullfill stain's will."
The end result of this is that Shigaraki doesnt even attempt to understand either, and decides to just kill them.
The funny thing is... this kinda attitude never really changes.
Compress even notes it as one of the main reasons he loved the league so much. it didnt pry into his backstory and just took him in regardless.
This attitude is what managed to bring the league together as a force... but it also prevented them from truly truly growing as a group.
Because of the fact nobody wanted or even tried to learn each other's backstories and deeper motivations, none of them ever managed or tried to Help Dabi make a possible future for himself where he could get his vengeance on Endeavor, and still get to live afterwards, instead they just let him burn on, even encouraging him to do so, with the end result that he came to a hellish innevitable march towards death.
Dabi himself tried to help Toga emotionally by setting her childhood home ablaze and rally her heart towards vengeance and freedom, because that's what he is motivated by, but he completely failed to understand what she actually wanted out of life, the reason why out of the entire league, the only person she was able to transform into was Twice, because he was the only one who actually tried to understand her.
This in turn means that Toga ultimately ended up seeking what she truely wanted amongst the heroes, and finally found in uraraka, what she had been afraid to seek/never got from most of the league.
Something that ultimately cost them the war.
this is best showcased when Shigaraki actually lays out his motivations and feelings for villainy, and the rest of his crew(other than spinner) is either completely disinterested, dissapointed or confused.
None of them actually cares about Shigaraki's motives other than spinner, not even Twice.
only spinner and the doctor(who doesnt give a shit about Shigaraki himself) actually cares at all.
of the rest, the only one who even attempts to understand Shigaraki is Toga, and not because she cares about how he feels about it, but because she begun to realise that her goals and interests are ultimately incompatible with shigaraki's(something that would come to fruition during the final arc).
Out of the league, the only one who even tried to understand and did care about shigaraki's motives, and attempted to figure out how they allign with his own wishes, is spinner, and it's not a coincidence that at the very end, he is the only one Shigaraki left his final words to, even if Shigaraki loved the other main members of the league.
The five people Shigaraki Tomura truly cared about in his hearts of hearts at the end... But even here where his feelings are laid bare, there is also another, sad truth.
Kurogiri, the man who effectively cared for Shigaraki as his own son isnt included amongst them.
Kurogiri is a rather complicated character, but it's clear by his final words, that he truly loved the league, just like compress did, and hoped they would be reunited in whatever came next.
It's not clear WHY shigaraki felt like this(maybe once he learned the man was a Nomu that pretty much sealed his ability to think of him as an actual person) but it goes to hammer in the fact that the league was just on a fundamental level not able to try to reach out and understand the motivations of each other.
the main exception to this, and the only one who seems to at least have wanted to understand everyone else is Twice, withouth any doubt the true heart of the League of Villains. The only one who everyone, even cold, brutal dabi considered a close friend.
he is the only one who understood Toga, who always opened his heart bare for the entire league, and when it seemed Hawks was about to join that number, he did everything he could to make him feel welcome and to actually understand what hawks was teaching him.
it's not a coincidence that it is when he dies, that the league really begins to come loose at the seams.
Dabi completely loses it in a way he hasnt done since the time he snapped and tried to kill shoto as a baby, and afterwards any and all morals and reservations completely evaporates in his heart, which is is replaced by a fire that doesnt go out until he literarily cant do anything anymore, having become a burnt out husk.
Toga as to confront the fact that she is living in a fantasy and has to actually commit to the league and it's goals or go her own way.
Mr compress tries to step up to fill in the void Twice left behind, but the grandpa of the group ultimately realizes that somebody is gonna have to sacrifice it all, and decides that like any good father figure, the duty will fall to him. Thus any wisdom he might have been able to impart to the next generation is lost when he becomes the next leaguer to fall right after twice.
But he could have shared these bits of wisdom at any time before this... his goals, his background, the origins of his unique insight into the world. But he didnt. only here, at the very end is he willing to put all of his cards on the table for the league he loved so much.
Spinner doubles down of his friendship to shigaraki, but in the process lets all of his other relationships in the league falter in the hour when they matter the most, when everyone needs to stick together, and by doing so ultimately fails shigaraki as well by not reaching out to him as he's suffering.
Withouth twice and compress, Shigaraki in his most critical hour, when the question of wheter he or AFO will rule this new body, has nobody who has no reservations about reaching out to him to try to be his emotinal support, with all the rest of the league literarily just standing by listening/staring at this mental battle as he suffers.
In essence, all of the leagues problems and weaknesses could have been solved if they had actually been willing to talk to each other to understand their respective ideas and goals in life.
Instead, they did the opposite of what the members of 1-A and aizawa did, and let everything foster and grow until the rot destroyed all of them from the inside out.

Hey!
Just an idea… Aizawa x pro hero!reader with the reader being the sister to Oboro Shirakumo and both Aizawa and reader finding out oboro’s body is a vessel as “Kiriogiri” to the LOV.
I really enjoy this idea… havnt done Aizawa so you get a star. Not proof read because I don’t like rereading my own work but I will sooner or later.
:angst
Shouta Aizawa x oboros sister! Fem! Reader
«────── « ⋅ʚ♡ɞ⋅ » ──────»
You were confused, truth be told all three of you were. The safety comity specifically requested for you your husband and hizashi to be escorted to tartarus. You were annoyed truely you were. You had things to do and papers to grade.
“Excuse me but what exactly are we doing here? We’re busy people we don’t have enough minutes in the day to spend doing busy work” you rolled your eyes as you felt shouta grasp your hand signaling for you to stop whining.
“Loud Cloud, you’ve been specifically requested, for what I am not authorized to disclose.” The guard said with a touch of nervousness in his voice. You were known to be quite a blunt and let’s just say difficult person.
“Yeahyeah cmon [name] you know there’s gotta be something totally important if they want to deal with you!” Hizashi said in his usually loud voice with his pointer fingers.
“Yeah like they’d willingly face your wrath.” Shouta said with a barely noticeable smirk.
“I hate you both.” You said as you turned around the corner the guard pressed his key to the reader that opened another door. There were two more guards standing on the opposite side who requested any items you had. You and Shouta only had your phones keys wallets while Hizashi dumped out years worth of gadgets.
“Cleared proceed. Follow me.” The female guard said walking down another large stretch of hallway and at the end awaited the police captain the head of the prison and the safety comity lady.
“Hello Eraserhead, loudCloud and present mic. It’s wonderful to have you, but before you go in we must disclose some information about the prisoner we’ve brought you to see.” The lady said.
“Inside we have the infamous Leage of villain member kurogiri, he was formally known as someone all three of you were well acquainted with, now we must brace you for this particular piece of information” sherif relented and I felt the hairs on the back of my neck stand up. All three of us nod side eyeing each other as I grab onto shoutas hand.
After a pause he continues “we’ve found out that kurogiri is a nomu of sorts and the vessel is oboro shirakumo” I felt my breath get stuck in the back of my throat and eyes widen.
“My brothers been dead. That’s impossible.” I said my voice slightly raised.
“I saw him with my own eyes that cant be.” Shouta voiced barely above a whisper his eyes wider than mine.
“No way man he can’t be alive, it’s just not possible.” Hizashi yelled eyebrows etched into a deep pinch
“That’s what we thought too, but we’ve confirmed that is him.” Sherif confirmed. “We’ve brought you here today to se if you’d be able to tap into Shirakumo’s conciseness and bring him back” the comity lady sighed
My head felt dizzy and my hands started shaking I couldn’t believe it. ‘I saw him die, I caused his death.’ I thought u til I was pulled out by my husband grabbing my hand and squeezing it tightly.
Without another word they opened the door to his cell. There were three chairs and a small table that had water bottles and tissues placed on it. They pulled Shouta aside while me and Hizashi took our seats. I stared at the figure in front of me behind the glass.
“They’ve rid him of everything Zashi, they took his eyes, his freckles, his smile.” My eyes watered as I took in his appearance. A figure you’ve come acquainted with as you’ve caught him before.
“I know” zashi said quietly and Shouta walked in sitting on the last seat quickly activating his quirk.
Hizashi was the first to speak. Begging oboro to give a response that he was still in there to no avail. Then Shouta tried he gave a heart breaking speech about his teachings and how much he affected his life to no avail.
“My name is kurogiri. I am here to assist to master Shigaraki” was all he said in response to them.
“Do you remember when we had began at UA, in our first year I wanted to give up? I tried to quit and drop out but you never let me! You said I had such a bright future as a hero, that I had a smile that’d heal the world.” I yelled into the glass. “Truth be told you saved me! You were my brother but before that you were my hero! I prayed every night that it was a dream or cried that I should have been the one to die that day not you. I won’t give up on you because you never gave up on me. I am a hero because you were mine. My hero.” I hadn’t even noticed that I was crying or that I had stood up until Shouta pulled me into his side. “I wanted to be like you for so long. I coppied your hair color and practiced my smile in the mirror, hell I even took your hero name. You’re still my oboro” I finished tears pooling on the ground
“My name is kurogiri. I am here to assist master shigaraki” was all he said in response.
“No your name is Oboro shirakumo. You’re my brother.” I whispered looking into his void of a face.
“[name] sit down it’s going to be okay, it’s going to be okay” my husband tried to reason but I couldn’t my body wouldn’t let me do anything.
“We’re done here, we’ve tried everything it’s not going to work” Shouta yelled towards the door and the prison keeper opened the door.
I was still sobbing and for a split second I felt that oboro had came through I couldn’t tell you how or give any proof but I knew he did.
✧༺༻✧
We arrived home after a silent car ride. I slid my shoes off as Shouta did his. We hadn’t said a word to each other. We both knew that if we did that’s we would end in tears.
I turned on the shower taking a quick body bath. After wards I laid in bed and silently sobbed into the comfort of the soft sheets. I felt the bed dip as the familiar body of my husband laid down besides me. After a minute he pulled me into him holding me silently but I felt his tears on the back of my neck and the short shallow breaths he let out.
“It’s going to be okay.” We both said at the same time making us giggle.
There was truth to my words. We would be okay, because I still had Shouta. And as long as I had him then I had a piece of oboro.

Kurogiri doesn’t remember what it’s like to be human. He didn’t even really know that he was human, at any point in his life.
For this reason, caring for Tomura was often hard. Despite being hardwired as a protector and a guardian, he was much less naturally proficient at the delicate empathetic touch that parenting needed. He didn’t know the smallest of things. That was very obvious the first time Tomura fell ill under his care. While the boy himself didn’t seem super concerned despite his abject misery, Kurogiri panicked. He couldn’t possibly ask All For One for assistance—the man clearly wanted to leave the nuances of raising a child to Kurogiri, and bothering the Master would prove no good for anyone.
Thus, Kurogiri taught himself how to use the internet. He scoured every forum he could understand how to open, searching for just what Tomura could be afflicted with (the amount of results were extremely worrying, just how fickle were humans?) and how to treat it.
Eventually, he settled for simply gathering as many of the offered treatments as he could. Over the counter medicines, antibiotics, vitamins, a humidifier, what are these patches even for again?, heated blanket, but also plenty of ice packs, is there a difference between chicken stock and chicken broth?, vapo-rub, hydrating lotion and oils, so much honeyed tea that Tomura became repulsed by the scent of it, and more cough drops than any sane person should have in one building.
These things quickly became Kurogiri’s fallback for any illness. Tomura would sometimes hide his sickness, when it came about, to avoid the intensive remedies, but Kurogiri insisted. It always worked before, hadn’t it? The misty nomu was proud of his ingenuity and his medical abilities.
At least, until the League came in.
When Kurogiri had broken the news that Tomura would not be present—sick, with what could probably range from influenza to appendicitis to a moderate cold as far as Kurogiri was aware—it garnered a myriad of reactions. Spinner, Magne and Compress at least had the mild manner to look a bit concerned, to varying degrees. Dabi just laughed.
All of them responded with bewilderment when Kurogiri began rounding up his usual treatment measures, however. Dabi asked rather bluntly, “Hold up, the fuck is all of that?”
Kurogiri looked at them all blanky and responded simply, “I must look after Tomura Shigaraki while he is ill.”
The League exchanged some looks then. A silent conversation he wasn’t privy to seemed to play out before his very eyes. Twice got too bored to bother involving himself, Toga soon to follow when she supposedly caught the drift that Kurogiri was missing. Spinner shuffled his feet and looked away. Compress, Magne, and a very disgruntled Dabi broke what remained of the staring competition all at the same time. Compress in particular put a hand on Kurogiri’s arm and insisted, “Actually, why don’t we assist you? You can put all of that down, dear. We don’t need it. …Any of it. Really, put it down.”
Kurogiri watched anxiously as the eldest of the League shuffled around his own kitchen. Compress pulled a bottle of water from the fridge, letting it sit on the counter for seemingly no reason at all. He then dug around the extensively filled medicine basket for a particular bottle, plucking two pills from it. Dabi set about making the angriest miso soup Kurogiri has ever witnessed. Magne busied herself with tea, because apparently the water wouldn’t be enough.
When the three of them were ready, they all ventured to Tomura’s room. Kurogiri tried not to worry too much. Some food and water? That’s all? Compress did grab some medicine—but not much at all! He trusted his colleagues, but he wouldn’t leave Tomura’s health to anyone else so confidently. Tomura has always had a poor constitution. Kurogiri resolved to check on the boy later discreetly, when the others’ feelings couldn’t be hurt.
When he went up to Tomura’s room that night, he was stunned to see the boy peacefully tapping away on his “switch” that he normally avoided in sickness because of eye aches and nausea. When Kurogiri asked after his health, Tomura had no response beyond a grunt of affirmation. He had healed… within a day? That had never happened before, not once! What sort of sorcery was this?
When he expressed his bafflement to Compress from the other side of the bar counter, the magician only laughed and patted his arm again. “You worry too much,” he said with what sounded like a grin. “Heaven only knows what quack doctor told you to get all of that other stuff! Some water and medicine every few hours can kick even the worst of sickness.” When Kurogiri was still confused, Compress tilted his head. “Haven’t you ever fallen ill? Toughed out a cold with some cough syrup?”
When Kurogiri still did not answer, the magician sighed. “You are a mystery, my dear,” he said ruefully.

a kurogiri theory/hc.
I have a theory for why Tomura was so much colder towards Kurogiri than he was towards the rest of League. We see Tomura be very accommodating and, dare I say, kind towards most of the League. He doesn’t get angry when Spinner gets up in his face and yells at him, he doesn’t lash out when Toga pulls a knife on him during the Overhaul arc, he never gives Twice shit for the self imposed limits of his quirk, etc. But with Kurogiri we see him be very angry, I remember him even calling Kurogiri stupid and threatening him during the USJ incident.
I think that this anger towards Kurogiri is likely a consequence of how Kurogiri’s programming effected his an Tomura’s relationship when Tomura was growing up. We don’t know much about Kurogiri’s programming (there might be more info about it in Vigilantes but I haven’t read that, if someone has and there is more info about how he was made/what AFO did to him please let me know!!) so I am going to guess what sorts of things he is forced to do and not do.
Kurogiri was made from Shirakumo Oboro’s corpse, someone who (from what little i know about him in Vigilantes) is very kind, great with kids, and a hero hopeful. I’m sure if Shirakumo saw little Tomura and how he was being raised (read: groomed) by AFO, he would try to put a stop to it, so AFO would want to ensure that Shirakumo’s personality does not break through (as has been known to happen to Nomu).
So the first bit of programming I think AFO did to prevent that is pretty obvious: I think AFO programmed in that Kurogiri cannot deny any order given by AFO to either Kurogiri or Tomura.
I think something else AFO would have been worried about is Tomura growing too dependent on or too affectionate towards Kurogiri. The reason grooming works is because groomers chose a victim who is isolated. They usually don’t have good relationships with their peers or their parents, so they latch on to their groomer who is giving them the attention that they don’t get anywhere else. Because of this lack of a relationship with anyone else, it also means that the victim does not have anyone to talk to about their relationship with the groomer, so no one will be there to point out that what the groomer is doing is inappropriate.
This leads me to my guess on the second bit of programming Kurogiri was given: do not show Tomura affection.
Showing Tomura affection would make him more attached to Kurogiri, and consequently not solely dependent on AFO, thus making the grooming less likely to work. Kurogiri obviously took care of Tomura’s basic needs and protected him, that is his job, but I think anything beyond the bare minimum was likely not allowed. No hugs, no bedtime stories, just what would keep him alive, so that AFO is the sole provider of all of the “love” and affection that Tomura craves.
Now, how would that cause Tomura to have the tumultuous relationship that he has with Kurogiri by the time of USJ? Well, from what little we see of Tomura’s childhood after being taken in by AFO, it was pretty fucked up. Getting beaten up in the streets, frequently physically ill, constantly scratching his own throat out, being forced to kill… not great to say the least. Couple that suffering with a “caretaker” who can only do the bare minimum, who cannot comfort him when he is in pain, who cannot step in when AFO is pushing him too hard, and some resentment towards said “caretaker” is likely to form.
I don’t think that Tomura hates Kurogiri, and I think that logically he knows some of Kurogiri’s coldness towards his pain is a result of AFO’s influence, but feelings don’t always listen to logic. I think that the planning of AFO in harboring a tumultuous relationship between them worked, and Tomura now has some deep seeded resentment starting from a very young age towards Kurogiri that can’t just be removed by the logical understanding he has as an adult that Kurogiri is just doing what he has to.
anyway, that’s my guess. I’d love to hear what you guys think and any other bit of programming you think AFO did.

Characters with wasted potential: kurooboro
It's our favourite intelligent nomu kurooboro that deserves so much more attention and a better arc then what he got.
Personally the narrative does seem to treat oboro and kurogiri as two different characters which I like but I wish we got more exploration on that.
Kurogiri
Kurogiri is shigarakis caretaker he is also AFOs servant. However, that's all we know.
1) I would have it that kurogiri used to be a loyal AFO servant. He became a servant/puppet due to him falling through the cracks of the system and trying to escape poverty in anyway he could. Overtime kurogiri got physically sick and his body started to fail yet he still worked for AFO accepting what he did. Afo recognises kurogiri as a valuable asset when his plan of capturing eraser and his quirk goes to mess and starts plotting with the doctor to help kurogiri get a new body which happens to be oboros.
The doctor manages to successfully do this transfer or so he thinks. The doctor is weird and creepy and yes he manages to do implant kurogiri's mind and quirk into a vestige but this comes with some drawbacks like oboro and kurogiri both sharing a mind and body or oboro physically and spiritually rejecting kurogiri making it so that his body is tearing him from the inside out in some way.
Kurogiri is tasked with the job of taking care of Shigaraki and at first he is quite indifferent to the child and doesn't care for him. However, as time goes on he does slowly warm up to shigaraki and care for him ( I love dad kurogiri too much for this). This puts kurogiri in a rough position, he cares for shigaraki but he also hears the plans that AFO and the doctor have in mind for him and he indirectly tries to slow them down or hinder them. All of this is little to no prevail, as much as kurogiri cares he isn't equipped or certified to take care of a traumatised child or to stop afo and the doctors plan.
2)Kurogiri makes a little plan. The plan is one where he gets a bar (AFO allows him) and he basically runs the bar. From the money he gains in the bar he spends some on shigaraki but also hides some of the income to at least assure his and shigarakis own survival. Sadly, the plan is found by AFO himself and the doctor does some "modifications" to kurogiri (practically torture) to keep kurogiri complacent and become the perfect puppet, to play his role. Kurogiri glad that AFO didn't take the bar away from him , but now takes like 50% of the income he earns spends the money on various things. He still has a plan but the initial plan for him to escape with shigaraki is looking slimmer and slimmer. He has a moment where he starts to desire freedom to escape and burn everything he has to the ground to fully forget about shigaraki, AFO, the doctor and all. Yet he stays and finds way to passively retaliate and rebell against both AFO and the doctor.
During this time he and oboro/ oboro's spirit and remains bond over their experiences. Considering that they both want freedom one way or another they work together to enhance their quirk.
Oboro shirakumo
Oboro shirakumo is a former 17 year old hero student who is friends with midnight, present mic and Eraserhead. He was majorly injured during a work study that he did with his friends trying to help save some children.
1) Oboro doesn't actually die, he is just declared dead and taken away. Afo is pretty disappointed when the villain fail to kill/ bring to him Eraserhead and accidentally bring in a heavily injured oboro. The doctor takes oboro, thinking that his quirk has some potential and suggests the idea of making oboro and kurogiri a merger intelligent nomu. AFO agrees to this of course and oboro's body is basically healed/ fixed by the doctor to become a suitable vessel.
2) at this point oboro is in a coma. However, when the doctor tries to merge the two oboro does show signs of retaliation and rejecting kurogiri, yet kurogiri overpowers him. Oboro is scared and untrusting of anyone around him at the moment. Both he and kurogiri get into a lot of arguments over the body they share which proves for it to be difficult to live in the body.
3) due to their differences and background oboro and kurogiri do not get along at first. Oboro is still quite naive about the world but his counterpart kurogiri isn't . Due to their close forced proximity and the fact that both want the body they are in to function they try and cooperate. They get to know eachother and start to understand their respective sides. Kurogiri shares his story, how he had to live on the street and survived of barely anything, how he enjoyed being a bartender before his body started failing him and he had to quit and fully dedicate his life to being AFO's servant. That's when oboro shares his own experiences how he wanted to be a hero, own an agency with his friends and how he also wanted to help others. They continue to cooperate and both make the plan of saving up money and running away from AFO.
3) When that plan is found out and the doctor does his 'modification' oboro goes silent, taking the blunt force of it at the time. This happens for a long while and kurogiri feels alone, this is when he starts to think of just leaving and destroying everything. Oboro is silent, he is stuck in a limbo place. Kurogiri thinks he can see oboro's spirit when he is sleeping but that is neither here or there. However, when they meet Eraserhead in the USJ oboro makes a slow awakening. He physically makes kurogiri's body hesitate and that's what causes them to be stuck in Todorokis ice.
4) Kurogiri is shocked of course and after the battle both of them have a conversation. Oboro isn't aware of how it works and doesn't remember anything after the doctors modifications which is when Kurogiri fills him in about what happened. Both start to work harder than ever for a chance at escaping whether it be them escalating their passive rebellious behaviour to AFO or trying to guide shigaraki to a different path.
They try their best, they really do but looks helpless and their chance at freedom is long and far. That is when they choose to slowly collect information in journals and allow themselves to get captured some time after the overhaul arc revealing their identity.
All of oboro's friends (NOT JUST ERASERHEAD LIKE IN CANON) are conflicted, confused and upset. They comfort eachother and all come into different conclusions, scared but so hopeful for a restoration of normalcy in their lives. It is present mic and eraserhead that try to make the first move, trusting the information that kurogiri provides them and slowly help kurogiri. Present mic is the first to come around at first not believing that its oboro but wanting the information, wanting to know if there is a traitor. Secondly, it's eraserhead out of pure hope and denial, he knows it isn't logical but he misses oboro and hasn't moved on. He now needs to understand that oboro isn't oboro but he is much more complex and has went through things. Lastly, it's midnight with a combination of both factors and guilt. She tries to avoid kurogiri as she blames herself for what happend and also starts to rethink her actions as a hero.
Working with the heroes gets kurogiri out of prison and under UA's custody really but he still is quite ominous especially kurogiri who still wants to save/help shigaraki and ends up talking to izuku about it.
I feel like there are way too many ways we can take kurogiri and oboro's characters in, all with different ways and endings but canon managed to do such a horrendous disservice to him so I hope I have given him some justice
(ALSO HAVE OBORO'S FAMILY BE INVOLVED IN THIS)!! like when people find out that kurogiri is also oboro I don't wanna just see Eraserhead perspective but also midnights, present mic and oboro's relatives

One thing that is now unfair to ask is...what is Nine's name? Look hori treated him as an afterthought but his lack of origins works better than the comical twnko's origins.
Yes his family was all killed thanks to him but ...I can't help to think that scene was too ridiculous.
We never saw anyone mentioned them again, not even shig. (He remembers them in MVA and we do see the disgusting human puppet hori flay around) But that's it.
So Nine...
Im not one of those people who think a new character needs to be related to a pre stabelished one. Nine doesn't need to be a Todoroki, Shimura or hell even a lost Midoriya (hahahahahahaha as if hori would care for this family)
But ....imagine if Nine was related to Oboro, somehow, wouldn't that be interesting?
Maybe, maybe not.
Oboro's character became a thing to turns Aizawa into a better character...and fails. Kuro was sacrificed for nothing.
The thing about Shigaraki/Tenko backstory is that it feels... a bit overdramatic?
Well we can say that about his whole character, but the part of his backstory in particular when he kills his family is so exagerated for the sake of shock value that it kinda feels comical.
Horikoshi tried a bit too hard on make MVA feel like the edgier and "different" arc of the series, but the contrast in so big that I can't take it seriously.
Especially when Hori already nailed a dark tone without being super explicit or over the top.
Take the simplicity of Eri's backstory for example:
No blood, no unnecessary violence, just two panels giving a basic idea of what happened to Eri's father and yet the image of those clothes lying on the floor is much more haunting and eerie than the enterity of Shigaraki backstory.
Why Horikoshi stop being subtle with his storytelling?
...
Anyway going back to Nine real name, or the lack of one, I think it's interesting how that aspect of his character adds to the underlying theme of how AFO and Garaki dehumanize people, especially the ones that are part of their experiments.
We know very well how AFO doesn't view other human being as persons but rather objects that belong to him. This starts with his very own twin brother, which name Yoichi means something like "my first possesion".
And just like Nine, number 6 from Vigilantes was a child which whole life was modeled by AFO. They both are just numbers without a real name.
In this case the idea is presented even more explicitly because Six was a child who suffered some kind of amnesia and couldn't even view himself as a normal human with a face.
He even died as a monster without ever know if he had an identity outside being the number 6.
It's funny how you mention the idea of Nine and Shirakumo being connected somehow, as isn't the first time I've hear that.
It's interesting notice how they share this common theme about sky and clouds as part of who they are (Nine's name also is supposedly a reference to the term "cloud nine") both Nine and Oboro are individuals willing to sacrifice their own lifes for others, and ironically both of them ended being experimented by Dr Garaki.
I even have the headcanon of Kurogiri being the "Number 7" in this line of experiments were Nine and Six belong, as sort of missing link between Six and the sentient nomus.
I probably should make a post later explaining better this idea.
And yes for Horikoshi, Shirakumo was just a diposable character to make Aizawa look cooler and more edgy.
While the author of Vigilantes clearly invested a lot of effort on making Oboro a real and memorable character which complements Aizawa rather than just being an accesory. But that topic deserves it's own post as well.
P.S: I have an idea of what real name we could give to Nine, but I keep it for me at least for the moment.

1) as someone who goes feral for a mag/Kurogiri ship it's so fucking nice to see mag actually get someone to be shipped with- cursed or not my girl deserves some action
2) I've been wondering, what did Shigs think when dabi turned from Oni to a person and admitted that he loved him
I think they deserve to be passionate fucked up little weirdos together, I'm glad you enjoyed them!
2.
The others were right, you were right that Onigiri wasn't like any other cat in the world. They were right when they said he sounded too human. But you'd already made up your mind then. Onigiri could have been a person, he could have been a nomu, and you wouldn't care. You would keep him anyway because he is everything to you. He is the first thing you've had in your life that is really yours. He is the only thing that has ever made you want to be more than what your Teacher told you to be. You wouldn't be who you are now if you didn't have him and you love him for that.
This man with his skin stapled together and scars running like ink across it is not the same as your cat though, and with a lump in your throat you have to offer, have to let go of him.
"But I won't force you to stay. If you want to leave--"
"No. I don't want to leave. I want to be here, I want to be yours--" The confession spills from his throat, "I love you." His hands cling to your sleeves and the bright blue eyes you've come to know and adore so much are set into a human face. A human face, human words, human emotions spilling messy and broken past his lips.
You take his lips for your own, trying to stop him from falling apart, trying to cling to him as hard as he's clinging to you. You will be everything that this man needs if it just means that he won't stop being your entire world. It's not what you thought you were signing up for when he barged into your life, but you would rather have this and everything else than lose any of it. You need him here.
You kiss him harder and try to give him everything he needs in turn.

I'd like to hear your complaints about mha please. I think rei should've rolled her ex husband off a cliff.
SIGH. Here is my official diatribe against MHA’s ending. This is definitely not my first rodeo with a series I love and had hope for having a bad ending but wow this one stings harder than usual
What’s craziest about all this is how much I defended this manga up until the last ten chapters. I loved this manga so much and had such high hopes for it. My own MHA social circle was nothing but huge fans that also had high hopes, some criticisms about things but willing to give the benefit of the doubt… But then 420 happened and I snapped out of it (and then my mutuals also snapped out of it, one by one, lol). It was so rushed and baffling that it actually ruined my day when it released, lmao. Deku regaining his arms via Eri ripping off her horn via child mutilation was only the beginning and I was not prepared for the everything else that would happen
The biggest issue starts and ends with Deku, who apparently got a secret lobotomy during the dark Deku arc and has not been written the same since. He completely loses his ability to be introspective in any capacity. “I’ve been having these thoughts about Tenko too” where?? Where is it??? Where is literally any of your real thoughts on Tenko or losing OFA or anything??? This manga used to have such an interesting insight into Deku’s mind. And it’s just, gone. A big issue with Shigaraki’s death goes back to that. Where’s the reflection?? “Show don’t tell” doesn’t work that well with a protagonist that barely shows any emotion at all!!
When it comes to the saving Shigaraki plot, I saw some mutuals suggest that Horikoshi changed his mind on the ending at some point between the togachako fight and 423. I reread those chapters and disagreed. Deku being unable to save Shigaraki is a plot twist and it’s a BAD one. All of the build up leading to 423 is that Deku would save Shigaraki, not just his soul, full stop. Unless it really was a last minute change or pushed by editors/SJ, I cannot imagine that this ending was not planned the way it was, so I will criticize Horikoshi as such. The twist was ass. And now we’re left with an ending of “well we can try to prevent villains, but if they’re already villains, beat ‘em up!” which is just.. AUGH!!! Completely throws Twice’s death down the drain!!! I can’t believe we were left with “we’ll do better next time” when the whole point was that the next generation would do better than the previous… Deku’s generation was supposed to be that one!! Not to mention that All Might seemingly forgot about his personal connection to Shigaraki…
It’s also wild that the togachako plot was the best written tragedy while also being the most offensive of all of them. I don’t care how many people Toga killed 😭 she was explicitly queer. At least izuocha didn’t happen, that would’ve made things so bad I don’t think I would’ve been able to interact with the series anymore. It was a one-off line but Toga’s death had the most direct impact on improving society, however, it was a ONE-OFF LINE, there is zero indication that Uravity is as prominent of a hero as this line makes you believe, which sucks. Also, the fact that the cameras got retconned is ridiculous, just another knife twist of completely gutting the theme of rehabilitation and societal changes on how people view villains
And… that’s not even mentioning what the fuck happened with 3baka. I understand the rush. Horikoshi has health issues, there are time limits for endings. I would’ve been okay with just the rush. But the writing decisions that were made… why the fuck did Kurogiri die like that?? In the most baffling, inconsequential way possible? Aizawa wasn’t shown, Mic didn’t react, it’s never brought up again except for a tiny, tiny panel of Shirakumo’s grave. I guess the whole plot with nomu and how they’ve slowly been humanized was just completely scrapped, because Kurogiri’s death was more inconsequential than Hood’s. If you’re going to kill Kurogiri, make him die by AFO’s hands. It would’ve worked a lot better as a tragedy rather than random and unnecessary Bakugo moment
This is honest to god one of the worst pages in the entire series:
Finally okay I honestly don’t care for the Todorokis so I don’t really have any strong thoughts on their ending. The ending Dabi got is actually better than I expected after Shigaraki died lol. Though I do agree that Rei pushing around Endeavor in his wheelchair is a hilariously bad look and I don’t know why Horikoshi thought it was a good idea
Here is one thing I will say, though. One final word:
Foster brothers Shigaraki and Kurogiri never got debunked!! Can’t have your theories be wrong if you get no information about a character!
#for blacklisting ->#bnha critical#mha critical#I don’t want to tag main tags 😭 there is still a part of me that loves this series#I’m just so blindsided by how it ended

Ok, some current thoughts via text posts. MHA Manga spoilers (kinda)
MHA is ending (the manga) and well, with only a couple of chapters left I feel like we're not going to get anything like an ending for My Guys and their whole back story/trauma. And I'm quite mad about it.
We got a drawn out plot line for these guys, we got their whole flash back trauma moment in a spin off manga. We got bits of it through the main story.
We got finding out that their school BFF wasn't killed as a child (right in front of them) and was turned into a Nomu that they fought multiple times before finding out he was their school friend.
We got glimpses of him still being in there, and the hope and possibility of him being able to be saved or brought back.
We got him saving them from plummeting to their deaths after falling off sky platform and then warping them to where they needed to be.
We did not get a conversation, an argument, an explanation. Not really. And I really needed it.
Most people were following MHA for Deku and class 1A and the Hero's and the plot. I stuck around cause I fell in love with these two/three dumbigos who had their own tragedy that led to them both becoming teachers, with two completely different reasons.
To me I always saw Aizawa becoming a teacher because Shirakumo always praised his care for others and helped him realise he had that quality Which at first appeared to be a solitide/shyness and separation from others, but was just a lot of self doubt. We don't know if there is a pre-school reason for his personality/attitude, but it seems to be to do with his quirk? Like, he's almost Tenko level, where his quirk could have been something else in villain hands.
And for Mic I always thought he chose teaching (and DJing and taking on smaller Hero tasks) as a way to do so much that he wouldn't be able to think to much about what he couldn't do back then. His quirk essentially killed his best friend. He was such a gungho kid, and he obviously has a really powerful quirk. Which he doesn't use to its actual potential and chose other careers that wouldn't need him to go all out.
And now they're just back and school and Aizawa is all broken but still looking after his students like he birthed them. They both look so tired.
I just really wanted a conversation. A moment where all that plot, all those Easter eggs, finally came to head, and all we got was a moment. Like, I dunno, I just wanted more. Maybe it's me, but it seemed like such a big plot to weave into the larger overall plot. Then it just sort of dissolved into Kurogiri helping Shigaraki one last time, and then that was it.
I miss them and I need more. I feel so unsatisfied 😩

I truly think the writing of MHA is superior. Full stop.
But why do i think so? Let’s get into a part of it. The bubbly atmosphere that hides the “ugly/evil/dark” and just how twisted this story truly is.
Let’s start with the doctor.
the fact that the doctor Garaki (a play on the name Shigaraki that was originally AFOs) says this
we see in Dabis flashbacks that they had MULTIPLE children they were grooming to be AFO heir.
Think about that again : the demon lord, a man who can live twice as long as another man (due to Garakis quirk) had this DOCTOR(who we know of as being a pediatrician bc of Izuku) KIDNAP CHILDREN AND HOLD THEM HOSTAGE TO CAPATALIZE ON THEIR TRAUMAS AND TURN THEM INTO A HOST BODY FOR AFO. They had a whole ass hide out where multiple children lived and were told to make it their own home. They didn’t even have names! CHILDREN!!!
That in an of itself, in reality in the modern world, is HORRIFIC! Imagine if today we learned that a pediatrician was kidnapping, grooming, and holding these children to make them “child soldiers” basically or an even better way to put it is toys for the powerful to do with as they please. WHAT THE FUCKING EVIL INCARNATE RIGHT?
NOW! think back to the two children that followed baby bakugo around and the wing quirk that was stolen. While simultaneously thinking about Kurogiri and the fact that Garaki was actually “hoping to get his hands on erasure” - so how did they get their hands on Kurogiri original body? Did they set up a situation where they knew one of the UA children who get hurt/killed and then waited to take advantage of the deceased?
I mean if we think about it, Giraki is quite literally ravaging these children’s bodies. VIOLATION ON EVERH LEVEL. and for what? for AFO? to get hands on quirks? for one person?
How far do you think they were willing to go to create the Nomu? If they are willing to use deceased children’s bodies who’s to say they hadn’t use live children’s bodies? ESPECIALLY BEFORE AFO WAS CAUGHT. WE SAW THEY USED LIVING ADULTS BEFORE?! is it that far of a stretch for them to try it on children? absolutely not.
MHA is dynamic. It’s about hope and friendship and love and family trauma and societal trauma and it’s also the most vile shit i’ve ever read. The way Bones studio portrays a bright blue sky is both irritating when not following the manga but also a HUGE FUCKING POINT! BECAUSE - we have all these amazing things we see, hero’s, quirks, friendship, family love, all the typical shonen stuff. That to me is the bright blue sky. WHILE COMPLETELY OVERRUNING THE FACT THAT ITS ALL BUILT ON BLOOD.
We know the big theme between Deku and Tenko is about the shit that’s pushed under the rug to make society livable for 75% of the population while 25% is left to suffer. (% is probably off). but if you really take a look at this theme and follow it along the path of the manga it’s TERRIFYING.
As a person who lives in the USA where our country is quite literally based in the suffering of the many for the luxury of the few it is CHILLING TO SAY THE LEAST.
NOT TO MENTION THAT AFO (if my theory he gave Tenko the quirk is correct) PREYED ON THE MOST VULNERABLE GROUP OF PEOPLE - THE QUIRKLESS AND CHILDREN
Izuku, Aoyama, and Tenko were all quirkless.
The writing makes it seem like it all just happened, but it didn’t. AFO meticulously planned every step out like he’s mentioned before but to AN UNNERVING ASS DEGREE BRO.
All For One needed a persons body who could still FEEL THINGS. BECAUSE HE CANT ANYMORE. or could ever? He has no real will of his own or real emotions or feelings. he is the true embodiment of “psychopath” (outdated term but helps to paint the picture)
I wouldn’t even think it’s a stretch to believe that AFO played a role in Kotaro abusing Tenko with what we just saw in the latest chapter. I mean they were like best friends? and it’s confirmed afo is the same person who dropped tenko off at home.
The sinister feeling of this manga as we continue to go forth is incredulous.
I didn’t even TOUCH ON the Dabi and AFO issue. I mean, how did he know Toya was on that peak? How did he know he would be there thst day? How did he know he would likely burn himself alive? How did he know about the abuse going on within the Todoroki family?
FUCK MY BRAIN THE CONNECTIONS ITS EVERYWHERE 😭

I suggest the horrifying yet intriguing concept of Twice cloning himself at 4 years old when he got his quirk, so he grew up with a "twin sibling" that lived in angst because he could die with a minor injury.
Even worse if within the first week he creates several siblings because he feels lonely and they keep dying (aka disappearing), so he really really hates to clone himself. His parents try to explain to him that they are clones, not real people, but then comes the horror of trying to tell that to the many kids. Twice losing his mind over what makes him different from a clone, because they all have the same memories, the same bodies, they are all him so if they are not real, is he?
Twice slowly gets more selfish and uses his quirk less and less. He's lonely, but he doesn't want to share his parents. He's lonely, but after he had that fight with a clone that claimed he owned his life and Twice was the fake one...
When his parents died, Twice knew he could clone them. He could push the loneliness away by just making them appear before him, hug him, tell him everything would be okay. He never did because he knew they would be horrified of being cloned like that. He never did because he missed them, he loved them, he didn't want to see them die not once, but twice.
That's the tragedy of it, right?
You multiply everything when you multiply a person. Their hope, their determination, their love, their pain, their suffering, their longing, even the loneliness and the passion. He needed to come to terms with that fact if he wanted to use his quirk.
Can he even clone a dead person? Or was it only something Toga could do using her quirk along with Twice's quirk? Could he clone Magne, for example? Did he ever think about it? Wondered?
What about people he couldn't have the exact measurements of, like Kurogiri? How tall are you if you're made mostly of mist? If no one can see the body underneath? If Twice tried to clone a nomu, he would probably replicate it in the state he took the measurements of and yet... I wonder if all the quirks would transfer.
A more macabre thought: could he clone a dead body so he can frame people with endless death? Would Twice quirk allow him to torture someone with the final moments of someone they loved?
Or in another universe, did he ever offered to use his quirk to be with all his friends at the same time because he didn't want to leave one of them alone for long? One Twice taking care of someone sick, one Twice going to buy the medicine, one Twice cooking in the kitchen, one Twice hanging out with another friend, maybe studying, maybe even watching a movie in the theater?
What if he wasn't even sure if he cloned his twin brother or if he was real? He knows he can't trust his memory, so he panics. Is that me enjoying my own life or just a clone? Is he real? Does it matter?

Shinso x Long Lost Twin Reader (2/???)
Quirk: Siren: has the ability related to the mythical sea creature, using their voice to hypnotize the target however they want or command. It leads for the victims to feel dazed under the effects by it. As an example: the mind will sense the relaxed all over their body, eyes turn milky white.
Warning: EraseMic scene, Sadness, Transformation details
1st Person POV
The silver-green humanoid girl sits on the soft grass while eating at least five captured fishes she successfully hunted. It was good enough except for a little blood dripping on her hands, but her hunger got the best of her.
The survival instincts awaken within her genes.
Now she felt guilty for doing such a thing. The predator instinct was far stronger to argue anything else when she was hopeless on what to do.
Got to go with instincts no matter how horrible it is.
The purple haired girl felt sort proud for managing to hunt on her own. Just hope the fish population wouldn’t die out of existence in her waters. Then has no choice to use her useful quirk on the surface animals like the forest creatures lurking around. That made her feel guilty about using it for the kill then singing however she pleased.
Maybe her morals prevented them from activating it on them. She prefers men if she gets the chance to take her rage on them, since she believes they weren't considered having emotions like her kidnappers did in the past. See their eyes hint the glance of evil and obsessiveness for what? Didn't care but wanted to get back at them. The hatred spread across her very heart. Like a disease that was untreatable.
Kurogiri was the only acceptable way to earn her trust. Even though she noticed he had the vessel of an unfortunate man.
She jumped into the waters, washing away the blood stains out of her skin. Cleansing away what she did. After a few couple of splash she seemed to feel a bit clean, looking at the bone of the fish she devoured. Quickly grabbed them from the grass to not leave any evidence of her existence. If some local mortal hikers were to discover it then they might come here and bring more of their kind.
The purple haired girl wouldn’t want some of these disgusting beasts coming here and disturbing her home. Always clean up after yourself before you leave.
Those were her papa’s words of advice.
She dived into the waters to head back to her home, hopefully that maybe he had come back. Her papa ….
“This sucks. I can’t wait to see this!”
“OOH I wonder if their blood would taste like!”
“Please, keep your tone down, you two.”
“...Can’t believe the doc created something that could kill us instantly’
“Shut up, you three…” The light-blue haired male shouted at three of his team members except the mask showman. “I don't want to hear anymore complaints from either you or I’ll disintegrate your mouth!” He grunted his teeth together while they were continuing on walking to the location of where that nomu might be. The abandoned lake cabin. If it's there then they could have a chance to corner it before it strikes first.
He was absolutely mad when the doctor told him about this girl.
Kurogiri kept this thing secret for the past few years and did not bother to mention her then the ‘power’ he was supposed to retrieve first thing. Instead he was going to meet up with her.
After what doctor Garaki spoke a few details about her, how she frightened him when she first transformed into cross-humanoid fish like nomu. He didn’t bother mentioning her quirk but testing to see if he was ready. To see if he was worthy to be All For One's successor and hopefully return that girl back, so he could actually fix up the problem within that rebellion teenager. Her quirk is the ultimate downfall for the pro heroes. It shouldn't be easily ignored but used against them.
Meanwhile they continued to hike through the forest, careless line this gonna be an easy piece of cake, a nomu is nothing but mindless servant. Except Tomura, he seems cautious on how this girl almost killed the doctor. Less care about her and more focus on activating his goal, and she is the key to get these heroes to fear him.
He wanted so badly to kill her for everything. Having the reason for Kurogiri capture in the first place and locked away into a high-security system.
‘Time to teach this brat an important lesson about hard reality..’
Timeskip
Present Mic was driving his car at high speed while both Aizawa and Shinso were kinda freaking out because of how he was driving. After they were inside of the car, the upbeat voice pro hero didn't hesitate on turning on the engine and drove like mad out of hell. Like he was in a hurry.
When Oboro/Kurogiri confessed about something, another thing was located somewhere in the river as the last lead. The only other place that the forest area has reserved is with river creek, it was abandoned over 15 years ago. Where he and along with Aizawa and Midnight first camp out during their summer break.
Shirakumo’s family lake cabin. His family sold it off when their son died and moved somewhere as if they didn't want to live in the painful memory of their first born being taken away so young.
Now, this mist nomu is using it as a hideout for that thing! It boiled his blood like fire. He hopes to find that monster that ungodly reanimated the corpse of their best friend, and captured whatever it is, swimming in the waters.
While Shinso lightly touched his bracelet in comfort, not understanding what's going on with his mentor’s friend when he started to drive. When he returned, he noticed a few tear stains on his face. He could have asked what was wrong but Aizawa wasn't much of an opening person.
Possibly after this, he’ll ask him what happened before returning from this supposed ‘emergency’ that he canceled training and took Mic with him.
Aizawa looked through the rearview mirror of his student and remained quiet in the backseat. And he grew uncomfortable as his fingers kept touching the shell of his bracelet, lightly.
He knew very well, it was something personal as family complication and the death of the family member; his twin sister. When he went through Shinso's family profile, his mother seemed a hard working nurse, his father kicked out and wasn't in contact with his only child after the tragedy scene, the disappearance of (Y/N) Shinso.
He waited until the purple haired boy told him about his family background, he would have easy access from Principal Nezu. But denied because it was the boy’s choice if he felt like talking about it. It wasn't like he didn't care. But wishes to confess in his time. Seeing him lightly caress the shell with so much gentleness. It is a sensitive topic.
While the two men and the boy were driving to the location, hope that this mission doesn't cause a lot of incidents.
In the woods
Tomura along with Toga were desperately running away as fast as possible while Dabi swung his hand out as blue flames spread further towards two of his allies.
What causes the scarred man to go on attacking Tomura and Toga like this?
Flashbacks Earlier
Tomura spotted the nearly broken down cabin while the others were behind him. Quietly as they approach it. Twice seem to get scared as he mumbled under his breath,
“This is a bad idea, Tomura. It's a trap!”
Spinner growled but slap his hand on Twice covered mouth, “shut up, before it-”
“Did you guys hear that?”
All of them faced the black spiky haired scarred male, not moving but looking at something in his direction. His voice seems to have a somewhat soft tone.
“Uh ..no” Toga blurted but seemed to not hear anything but the heavy breathing of Twice. She looked at Dabi then at his direction on where he was looking. Nothing but the river itself. She almost saw something purple vision just vanished. Looked at Dabi.
“Such a melodic voice, isn't it not..” Compress said. She faced her father figure, he was acting strange as well. This was something getting her uncomfortable on why she couldn't hear anything from what he and Dabi were actually hearing.
None of them weren't making any sense at all.
Tomura tried to hear something but felt himself crying in silence. Then Spinner got close to him, placed his hand on his shoulder, “boss, cover your ears..” Quickly Tomura grabbed out the earplugs and put them on.
Another enchanting voice echoes at the entire forest, Twice pulling the reptiles mutant hand down,
“It's beautiful, you guys…” he said. Looking around for the voice that was calling out to him.
“Guys, close your ears with-” Spinner stopped talking. He was unresponsive as eyes pupils turn into milky eyes, along with Compress, Dabi and Twice. They all faced Toga and Tomura….. their quirks began to activate as they walked forward towards them.
“Kill them….” The voice of a menace female spoke only those ruthless sentences.
Flashbacks End
The purple haired girl was crawling her heavy body away from the lake since she decided to pull herself out from the river and tried to flee as soon as possible. Before her quirk will release the intruders from her hold. It was a good quirk, if only they don’t further away from her reach beside physical hand contact like slap or hit can free them from her hold.
Soon enough she gasped under the horrible spread across her entire body, mostly her tail and her back. Gasping let out of her mouth while she tries to surpass it. Then her tail was slowly forming into split appearances of legs forming.
Her once cyan skin color turned into (s/c) along with her face becoming a lot youthful but mature as a young lady then her child appearances. At last she felt no more of the heavy tail weight, looking behind seeing two sets of legs.
The teen girl was amazed at the sight of real legs. Twirling herself around as she looked at them. But tried to move. Nothing but stiffness as she was able to do anything with her lower body. She crossed her arms around her body, feeling cold temperatures hitting her bare skin. Quickly she continued to crawl towards the empty but steady boats. If she could find a spare blanket that these unfortunate people left behind.
Time Skip
As soon the mustang vehicle was driven up and stopped near the empty dust mailbox, quickly the black haired man got out of the car running towards the front door without waiting for his old blonde friend and his protege. Aizawa kicked the door hard and went inside of the house.
Once Present Mic and Shinso stepped out of the car, the voice pro hero was observing the area while the purple haired student noticed something at the docks. He quietly headed to the docks, kneeling down and feeling sick through his stomach, and ripped fish flesh off with no bones but blood stains, it looked fresh. Meaning they are around. He thought.
“Uh, Sensei?” He called out since he was kinda creeping out. As if the beast was around waiting to slaughter their prey, meaning him and the two pro heroes here.
The blonde haired man appeared next to him. Looked at the same blood stain, “someone was here.” He said but likely worried that if there was a chance of something being caught by the LOV already.
Until they heard distant cries from the woods which both of them were facing in the direction where it's coming from.
“Stay here..” The voice pro hero ordered as he hurried himself running towards the scene on where the cry was located. Shinso wanted to follow but couldn't since he wasn't licensed but decided to head to stand by and maybe wait for a couple minutes if Mic didn't return.
Inside of the house
Aizawa was carefully searched around the messy but ruined living room. Finding nothing. It seems clear until he moves on to the upstairs. His hands grip on the strand of his gray captured weapon scarf, being prepared for any surprises. As he tried to get emotions for being here once again, with a terrible reunion.
How long did Oboro keep keeping whatever it is here for?
Then he seem to guess something, if it held then-
Noticed in one of the guestrooms as he stepped inside. nearly handmade dress, with long sleeves? The color was pure white. Almost like a wedding dress but notice there were no veils laying around. This had him uncomfortable. What his former friend did to keep some girl as hostage, was absolutely horrifying when he learned about Eri’s history.
This was his friend’s behavior when looking after someone.
Then he saw something laying on the bed.
A silver pendant necklace.
Shinso walked towards the docks since he couldn’t help but felt like something was here. Almost like a call speaks to his vein of searching for something. His purple hues are carefully observed from right and left in case something might jump on him if he isn’t watching his own back, like Aizawa said: Must look after themselves or otherwise be as good as dead.
Sounded harsh but at least he was honest.
He was like a father figure to him that he misses since his biological father vanished and hasn't kept in contact with him at least since his mother divorced his father. Guess he does not want to be involved in his life anymore, that hurt him all his life until he stopped caring about everything.
With his mom gone, He was the only one left until EraserHead sorta took him in, and Present Mic kinda acted like an uncle but more like a mother figure. He didn’t mind but felt comfortable with new family, if those two just date already then making obvious hints of him and Aizawa showing around campus or when they left for a mission. Or saw some purple bruise on their necks visible with no covered scarfs or makeup.
It was a simple life for Shinso, never complaining about anything but dearly missing someone important in his loney but gray world.
While he looked around he saw three boats but one had blood stains on it. He gripped his capturing scarf in instinct mode, they were in the water or one of the boats probably dying. He quietly approached it. In a few steps he felt his heart beating under an anxious expression. Like he was in horror films, just as he slowly walked towards the edge of the boat, he gasped softly. At the sight of a girl near around his age, unconscious but covered in a dark gray blanket.
What was disturbing him right now besides she was naked, did those monsters hurt her physically and leave her bleeding. Carefully he reached towards the girl, gentle but made sure that the blanket wouldn't fall revealing her chest.
Highly inappropriate but hopes no one takes this the wrong way if he carries her back to the car. As he brought her into his arms, noticed something on her neck, gills? So she is a mutant-hybrid girl. As Tsu and Ojiro.
While he made sure she was covered in the blanket completely. It seems good enough. He just carried her in bridal style but smelled something burning in the air.
That's when he saw something blue from the roof, it spread wider with hot temperature that had him back away it.
Now he and this unconscious girl are definitely endangered by blue flames gonna suffocate them here. Looked around but found no way out but the boat itself.
Having no choice but went into the other boat since he wasn't supposed to do anything else but get the girl and himself away from the flames before it trapped them both here.
"papa.. don't leave me.." she mumbled while being unconscious but had her thoughts on Kurogiri. It had her tears when she had the unfortunate news from one of the men, well the mutant reptile when she asked the whereabouts of her papa.... It had her heart drop as everything went into slow motion..
"Sorry.... Child..." The purple mist nomu whispered as he was communicating with her from the farthest distance. Inside of the swirling mist, the corpse of the light-blue haired male had started to develop tears.

Uncertain thought (could be Amnesia!Dabi, or just in general) - So, like, AfO has Toya for a while, right? & he experiments, or whatever? I saw a lot of fics where something similar happens, & Toya gets fireproofing, which felt. Idk if cheap is the right word, by I liked the idea that AfO tries to "improve" him or something, so what if he slapped Dabi with a self-healing quirk? Like, Dabi's Quirk still hurts him, but he heals faster & better from the damage, scars less, sort of thing?
YES OKAY SO ABOUT THAT
Because I did give Dabi an extra Quirk in CC and that stays throughout CC-adjacent stories like Amnesia!Dabi and all.
I've brought this up before on the 'why didn't he add shit to Dabi?' and the 'are you sure he didn't?' and then musing on why Kurogiri is different from all the other Nomu and went on a tangent so like
AfO knows that, practically speaking, shoving more Quirks into a person is difficult. Most people are really only designed to have their own Quirk. Maybe two. Shoving more in can be problematic.
So he often doesn't unless there's other factors. Like 'oh hey we're gearing up for a whole ass War, let me shove some more abilities into a few of the sacrificial pawns because idc if it overloads them'. The Nomu are an exception because they're frankensteined nonsense shoved all together and not really 'people' in the original sense anymore and are on the whole just cannon fodder rather than players in the game so he doesn't care if they get overloaded.
And if Dabi were anyone else, it wouldn't matter. But he's /Toya/. And that's what AfO wants. Because everything about Toya becoming Dabi would be a blow to the Heroes and everything they stand for. So he can't really just shove Toya's useful Quirk into a Nomu or risk overloading him with other Quirks.
Which brings us back to Kurogiri!
Kurogiri was part of a project regarding Quirk Awakenings. Seeing if they can force Awakenings by putting the body under simulated stresses. In Kurogiri's case, Oboro's Cloud evolved to protect him and to let him escape dangers via teleportation, creating Warp Gate. (the amnesia was just a fun side effect of the trauma and near-death, not part of the experiment).
As putting the body under that much simulated stress is dangerous, even fatal, Kurogiri was the only successful one out of the batch, and the experiment was mostly scrapped for the time being.
Now when AfO got his hands on Toya, he did think to add things to him, but didn't want to risk losing the gutpunch of /Toya/ being a villain. So he brought back the Awakening experiment, making sure to only push a little instead of a 'how far can we take this?'. Especially as Toya had already had one Awakening already (the whole red-to-blue fire).
He was hoping to do something like pull out the proper Ice/Fire combo, or even just give Toya fireproofing. But Hellflame and Heaven's Frost aren't the only Quirks in the genepool to pull from. So the next Awakening instead pulled out "Demon", which was Enji's father's Quirk, so Dabi now has horns and a tail.
