Xavier's mother is tough AF

Shazza - or Sharon Xavier - as she almost certainly prefers to be called, is tough as fuck. She shows it in X LIVES OF WOLVERINE - certified time travel nonsense where Omega Red is trying to John Connor Chuck.

She's just lost Cassandra (though that was Chuck, the shithead) and she's a little gobsmacked to see these two lunatics slicing each other up. I'd be the same if Wolverine and Omega Red turned my birthing chamber into an abattoir.

She gets over it though, and firmly insists that they fuck right off. Double barrel in one hand, goopy bloody baby Chuck in the other. It's so nice to see umbilical cords in comics. Births are messy - blood and shit gets everywhere - and babies are little demons determined to make someone die. Bring on more placentas you cowards!

Hehe she shoots Logan and drops him. Papa Chuck goes for the eyes, but gets thrown quickly. It would have been rad if Shazza got to finish him off but Logan is the mutant Forest Gump - he's been bloody everywhere.

—on the topic of psychotic Summers brothers, I only just caught up with six months of X-Men after stopping for six months the topic of Gabriel referring to the tags of my last X-Men post a month ago — but I was happy to see Scott's torture-induced psychosis didn't (definitively) turn out just to be that he'd calculated what others hadn't. Yes, the woman he'd accurately calculated would save him was Dr. Gregor, not Jean, but that doesn't change that he remained unsure if Jean was real (and thought she was alive) while the all-seeing Enigma knew on the contrary that Scott was delusional because Phoenix thus equally (an equivocation which casts further doubt of Scott's fiery visions ever being genuine, as Jean's dying mind had departed Scott well before Mother Righteous sacrificed Jean's dead fragmented self for Dominion, before Scott was tortured) Jean — were so utterly dead that Rachel and Hope had to cancel out death to reverse it. Yet Scott, hyper-vigilant traumatized autistic brain-damaged neurodivergent soldier that he is, seemingly accomplished all these strategic calculations while having a psychotic “break,” which is extremely in character for him—

I honestly really enjoyed seeing Wolverine’s efforts to rehabilitate Quire during Jason Aaron’s run on Wolverine & the X-Men. Not only was it awesome seeing Logan take an active role in helping prevent the next generation of young mutants from going down a similar dark path & painful that he himself once did, but seeing Quentin develop genuine empathy for others like Krakoa the Living Lawn & Idie Okonkwo while attending the Jean Grey School was rather endearing!

it doesnt need to be said but its genuinely so funny how at-the-hip charles and erik are in krakoa like they really had the green light- the OBLIGATION- to be as obnoxiously close to each other as possible and abused that right to the fullest extent

i wrote a big long thing but kind of forgot where i was going with it so i'm just gonna write . i think one of the things with krakoa and the mutant metaphor as an extension is that krakoa genuinely like. is a eugenics state. i do not think i could actually live there without in some way being endangered. what i mean by that is that krakoa is not accessible in any of the images we have seen from it. what i mean by that is that krakoa doesn't visibly have an actual functioning hospital & healthcare system so much as it has a bunch of people that happen to either have healing powers or were doctors before krakoa act as the healthcare system, but very little seems to be organised. what i mean by that is that the emphasis on krakoa seems to be first and foremost on curing the disabled and not supporting them. and idk, the frustrating thing is that this isn't really expanded on like... at all by writers because disabled people are not in the writing room at all. it just isn't considered. maybe vaguely alluded too, but there seems to me be very little acknowledgement that krakoa is actively hostile to disabled people in a lot of ways.
