A/N: Been rewatching playthroughs of the games while I was sick and got the itch to write something! There was so much more I wanted to do with Chihiro's part, but kind of backed myself into a corner when I decided to write this taking place during the killing game. No worries though, I plan to write a bunch more Chihiro x reader content in the future! ( Can you tell I love Chihiro? Lmao- )

↪ Off rip, Chihiro was very intimidated by you. Your stone cold exterior and the general vibe you gave off was kinda scary to him.

↪ He didn't talk to you at all during the first couple of days, simply watching and observing you whenever you made your presence known/whenever you spoke.

↪ During the first class trial, you absolutely owned it. You constantly kept everyone on track and gave them clues to help them figure out the mystery themselves and diverted them from anything that led them to the incorrect truth. You helped everyone crack the case without flat out giving them the answers and he found that really cool of you.

↪ When Leon's execution came, Chihiro felt a swarm of negative emotions to the point he couldn't contain his tears. It was terrible, all of it was. Even if Leon killed Sayaka and even though Sayaka attempted to muder Leon, he couldn't help but feel bad for the both of them..

↪ That following day or two, he was in a rather gloomy mood. Everyone was. After the events of what happened, he couldn't really stomach much food. It was a small thing and Chihiro thought no one had cared to notice his lack of appetite, but he was surprised that someone did; you did. One morning, he was presented with a large portion of a simple meal by none other than the stone cold mystery themselves.

↪ "Eat it if you'd like. If you don't trust it, that's fine too," Was all you said to him, but it made his heart do a backflip regardless. He didn't understand it, but the scene kept playing in his mind the rest of the morning which kept him red in the face the entire time..

↪ After that, Chihiro started observing you even more and he started picking up on the small things about you. How, although most of the others misinterpret your intentions, you truly don't mean harm to anyone and just want to find the way out like everyone else. You're actually really sweet but your tight-lipped and mysterious nature just throws everyone in the wrong direction, he thinks.

↪ The more he watched you and the more he interacted with you, ( although interactions with you didn't happen often ) the more his heart fluttered until it eventually evolved into something bigger. At first, he thought what he was feeling for you was simply admiration until one of the others pointed it out to him one day. The way he speaks about you with such passion, the way he sometimes stares at you like a puppy wanting attention, the amount of times he's caught staring at you.. To them, it was painfully obvious that he was crushing on you!

↪ Even with the knowledge of his crush on you, Chihiro made no attempt to act on it. For one, you two are in a killing game and you're probably way more worried about figuring out the mastermind and getting out of here than getting a partner and two, he was too embarrassed to. The last thing he wanted was for you to laugh or berate or be disgusted by him for pretending to be a girl because of how weak and sensitive he was.. ( The last thing he wants is to confess under the rouse of a girl anyway. )

↪ This ( along with the embarrassing secret motive ) ultimately boosted his motivation to achieve his goal; to get stronger. Once he's strong enough to protect you and his friends from any danger, then he'll tell you how he feels!

↪ He was determined, and unfortunately, that determination ultimately led to his untimely demise. It was ironic, especially with that conversation you had with him that afternoon prior..

↪ "I've decided! I have no other choice but to get stronger. I'll try my hardest and..! And when I do, I would like to talk to you about something very important, okay?" He had told you, eyes burning with uncharacteristic fire. It was..certainly a look for him. ( One that may or may not have made your heart do a few tricks without your permission.. ) And you remembered briefly mutter something to him about staying safe and not overdoing it..

↪ If only you had offered to join him. Maybe things would've went differently..

↪ Huh, how odd. It's not like you to be sentimental like this. Actually, as of late, a lot of things you've been doing have been out of character for you.. Honestly, what has gotten into you lately?

↪ Well, there's no time to dawdle on it right now. You have to seek justice for Chihiro. With the clues you've gathered, you already have a sneaking suspicion of who the culprit is..

↪ You immediately spiked Kokichi's interest. The fact that you didn't give him any information about yourself intrigued him. It was as if you had something to hide..

↪ When it came out that everyone would be participating in a killing game, Kokichi was surprised by how well you kept it together. Unlike everyone else who were in denial, you wholeheartedly believed the kubs and kept a levelhead about the whole ordeal. It was as if it didn't affect you at all..

↪ "You seem oddly calm about this. Don't tell me you're actually some psycho and was waiting on something like this." He said to you only to get silence in return as you outright ignored him.

↪ For the first day or two he observed you, but he quickly decided to take a more upfront approach and was all in your face. He was always trying to poke and prod and tease information out of you, but you never caved. He couldn't get under your skin at all.

↪ But he did, at least, get your name.

↪ When the first murder finally happened, you again, didn't panic. While everyone else were screaming their heads off, you talked to Monokuma, verifying things about the upcoming class trial before immediately starting your investigation.

↪ When the trial came about, you kept calm. As if you had done this a million times, you helped guide everyone. You gave hints and helped paint a clear picture of what happened. When everyone began to deny the truth, you, along with Kaede, helped everyone come to grips with reality.

↪ And then, when the killer was executed, you didn't freak out. He also noticed you saying something to Shuichi before swiftly leaving to go god knows where.

↪ And just like that his interest in you hit it's peak.

↪ He began speculating. What could you possibly be hiding? Why are you the way you are? How many times has something like this happened to you? Do you hold the key of getting out of here?

↪ Could you be the mastermind behind this? It's definitely a possibility..

↪ After the trial, Kokichi officially set his sights on you. He began to bug you even more.

↪ He would drag you around places and rope you into his shenanigans. To everyone else, it may have just looked like Kokichi was just doing it for the fun of it or to annoy you, but in actuality, he was doing it in an attempt to get a feel for your personality. He wanted to know what made you tick and what didn't. But alas, you were harder to crack than he expected.

↪ So, he began stalking you.

↪ Everytime you distanced yourself from the others and disappeared for long periods of time, he would try to follow after you, however..

↪ "Kokichi. I know you're there."

↪ ..he never got far before he was found out.

↪ Then the second murder rolled around and the cycle repeated. The body discovery announcement played, you gave no reaction to it, disappeared to start your own investigation, and carried the class trial.

↪ After the trial and execution, ( and after you saved his butt from Maki's wrath after he exposed a certain secret of hers ) he approached you with the supposed intention of wanting to be your friend. ( Although he worded it more as him wanting you to be his sidekick ) He didn't give you ang room to deny his friendship and before you knew it, he was shamelessly latched to you like some annoying pest.

↪ Almost everywhere you went, he attempted to tag along. Of course, if you were going on one of your little side investigations, you gave him the slip and he wouldn't be able to find you for a while.

↪ Other than that, you humored him. He talks your ear off and the conversations between you two are more or less one sided but he can tell you're listening to every little word he said and didn't mind his presence. Although he doesn't know much about you, he's gotten to know you enough to know that when you don't want to talk to someone, you'll make it very clear to them that you don't want to talk to them.

↪ And then something most bewildering happened. Shuichi gave you a gift.

↪ "How did you know I liked this?" Kokichi heard you say before you accepted the gift, "Uh..lucky guess? I honestly had no idea. It just seemed like something you'd like." He heard him say..

↪ "I see.. Well, thank you."

↪ Like the stalker he is, he watched the whole interaction and to Kokichi's surprise, he felt..odd watching you two interact. Although it wasn't the most intense feeling, it certainly wasn't a pleasant one..

↪ Anyways, the third murder rolls around and shortly after it happened, he stepped on a faulty floor board and..yeah y'all know what happened to him.

↪ When you and Shuichi found him, he was laid out on the floor and bleeding profusely from the head. Shuichi was startled at first, thinking he was dead, but upon him sitting up, the detective slowly stopped caring.

↪ Chuckling to himself, ( and feeling the very, very strong urge to vomit ) Kokichi stumbled to his feet. However, as soon as he did, you grabbed him by the arm..

↪ "You shouldn't move around so much. You likely have a concussion."

↪ "What..are you talking about? I'm..fine! Just..eheh.. Just peachy.." Another obvious lie. Honestly, what does he expect to gain from acting like this?

↪ After he let that ridiculous statement tumble from his lips, you forced him onto your back with ease. ( As expected, he's very light ) After telling Shuichi to continue his investigation, you left with Kokichi riding on your back.

↪ "Heyyyy, where are we going.. Do you plan to..to take me out while I'm like this..how..cruel, nishi..hi..heh.."

↪ You ended up taking him all the way back to your dorm because you remembered that you had some medical supplies lying around that you found while out on one of your side investigations. They weren't the best, but it was enough to make sure Kokichi wouldn't bleed out and die.

↪ With quick and kinda rough movements, you bandages up his head and the entire time you were supposed to spend investigating ended being spent in your room. After you finished bandaging his head, you dimmed the lights and applied a makeshift cold compress ( which you made by stuffing some ice in a bag and wrapping the bag in a thin towel ) to his head.

↪ Your eyes were completely on him the entire time and something about that made the displeasing feeling he felt before swell into something lighter and fluffier in his chest and around his heart. He didn't know what it was, but he's certain that he loved hated the feeling with a passion and hoped to never feel it again. Oh the lies he tells even himself

↪ The trial rolls around, and although you were kind of in the backseat for some time, you still managed to crack the case wide open. Well, with some help from Shuichi that is.

↪ Speaking of which, after the trial and execution, Kokichi began to notice the most bewildering thing; little Shuichi was getting oddly close to you.

↪ Like, a day or two after the trial, he saw you outside with Shuichi, Maki, and Kaito. You seemed to be working out with them but he took note of how you seemed the most responsive with Shuichi.

↪ An uncomfortable feeling bubbled in his chest, but even so, Kokichi, who had begun to slowly come to grips and realize his attraction towards you, pretended like he was fine. So what if you're hanging out with Shuichi? Lately, the detective has started to peak his interest and he plans to befriend him just like he did with you. Once he achieves that, he'll have you back and he'll have Shuichi to himself too!

↪ But alas, things didn't go as planned. Shuichi, untrusting of him, didn't want to be his friend. How sad..

↪ But he's not one to give up so easily. He'll find a way to rope him into this little game of his..one way or another.

↪ Fourth trial comes and the truth is revealed that Kokichi had a part in Miu's murder. Upon revealing the truth to everyone and completely ruining all the fun of the mystery, you seemed to be the one person to initially believe him. ( Although he noticed you seemed uncharacteristically bothered about the whole ordeal )

↪ Then Shuichi helped you further reveal what happened, forcing everyone to believe what really happened was the truth and that Gonta was the blackened. ( Gosh, it was agitating how in sync you two were )

↪ After the trial ended, things escalated. Kaito and Kokichi got into it and Kaito ended up lunging at Kokichi. However, it seemed the ultimate supreme leader was stronger than he let on ( or maybe something else is at play here.. ) and he ended up throwing his own punch which sent Kaito flying to the ground.

↪ That's when the others finally intervened.

↪ Shuichi, angered by everything that had happened, screamed at Kokichi. He yelled and fussed about how he was horrible and had no friends and how he had no one to turn to because he was horrible and blah blah blah.

↪ Kokichi didn't care much for his speech, ( it was nothing he hasn't been told already ) but his eyes seemed to drift to you. Unlike everyone else, you hadn't jumped to Kaito's defense nor were you screaming at him. In fact, you just stood in the back, watching with that iron expression of yours. How..like you..it was to do that, he thought.

↪ When he left, you followed after him.

↪ "That was quite the show you put on back there. Tell me, Kokichi. What are you planning?" You had asked him.

↪ "Heh, wellll since it's you I feel the sudden urge to spill everything, nishi~! ..Hm, fine then. I'll tell you for a kiss right here on the cheek, nishishishi~!" And then he saw it. For only a split second, he saw the surprise flash across your face. He saw your brows twitch and your eyes widen. He saw your cheeks flush.

↪ He finally saw you truly caught off guard and it was the cutest thing he's ever been able to witness. It's disgusting how much he's grown to like you, he thought. Not really.

↪ You didn't see him for a few days after the trial. You had no idea where he went, but you didn't bother wasting your time searching for him. Not that you could, with Kaito breathing down your neck wanting you to hang out with him, Shuichi, and Maki, you never found the reason or necessary time to go and look for him. ( But for some odd reason, you couldn't stop thinking about him. )

↪ And then he showed his face at last and when he did, he had weapons in tow.

↪ He claimed that he wanted to help end the killing game but of course no one believed him. Maki, who was at her wits end with the male, jumped to attack him and you, of course, jumped to his rescue.

↪ "Why do you always protect him? Are you two working together?" She questioned, her fiery crimson hues staring into you like sharpened blades.

↪ "..." Your silence gave nothing away as you stared back at her with your own icy gaze, gripping her by the arm as you awaited for her to release Kokichi.

↪ She let him go eventually.

↪ Kokichi then went on to explain what the weapons he persuaded Miu to make did ( the "electrohammers" as he put it ) before saying he'll no longer intervene with the others and their plans and leaving.

↪ And without a second thought, you followed after him which automatically labeled you a traitor in certain peoples' eyes. ( Cough cough Maki and Himiko cough cough )

↪ Alas, you quickly lost sight of him despite your tailing. But you couldn't give up now. He knows something and you're determined to find out what that something was.

↪ But all your efforts got you nowhere. You looked everywhere but couldn't find him, however when you finally reconvened with the others they all seemed oddly..depressed about something.

↪ You questioned each of them but only Shuichi would explain what happened while you were gone. Apparently, they used the electrohammers to cross that Death Road and found a large hatch that led outside. They got it opened but what they saw was simply despair-inducing..

↪ Everything was destroyed, there wasn't even air to breath out there. To put it simply, it was the end of the world.

↪ And the supposed mastermind behind the killing game had finally shown themselves and it was none other than the Ultimate Supreme Leader himself; Kokichi Ouma.

↪ But the whole story seemed..odd to you. Something about it simply didn't sit right ( especially with the evidence you had gathered while secretly investigating this place ) and in the end you incurred that at least some part of what went down was a lie. ( And you had a sneaking suspicion of which part it was )

↪ You ended up disappearing after that to do some more investigating. You spent the entire evening, night, and following morning digging up what you could. It was a shame it was cut short in one of the worst ways possible..

↪ "A body has been discovered! After a certain amount of time that you can spend however you'd like, the class trial will begin!" You certainly wasn't expecting that. And at a time like this..

↪ You make it to the crime scene soon after that and waste no time investigating. Everyone is certain that Kaito was the one who was murdered, but until you gather the clues and come to a collective verdict at the class trial, nothing is certain. ( Although, there's this sense of dread that's beginning to bubble at the pit of your stomach. You're hoping—praying—that it's not because of what you think it is.. )

↪ And then the class trial comes and for the first time, you were uncertain. You had a possibility or two, but with the clues presented, you weren't sure of anything..

↪ And after a long time of going back forth and around in circles, Kokichi's plan was finally revealed. His true goal was to end the killing game by making an unsolvable case where you aren't able to figure out who was murdered and who was the culprit.

↪ But then new evidence came about. Maki's confession and the video tape along with Shuichi's deductions helped you make a vital connection and that connection helped crack the entire case wide open. ( Because of you, Kokichi's final efforts were in vain.. )

↪ After the trial, no one was happy. I mean, how could they be? The blackened was Kaito. Aside from that, for some reason, you just seemed a little too upset. Something about the entire situation, about Kokichi's entire plan to kill himself for the chance to end this killing game, to stop the suffering, it made your heart sting. It effected you more than you would've liked and Kaito seemed to notice that.

↪ "I know you really liked him, Y/n," He told you, "He really liked you too. He never outright admitted it, but I could tell.. He wouldn't stop talking about ya'! Even..even in his final moments.."

↪ Was that supposed to make you feel better? Because it didn't. All it did was make things worse. You wish he would've just kept that to himself. Kokichi was thinking of you until the very end? What was the point of putting that painful thought into your head? It was unnecessary.

↪ And so, as soon as Kaito's execution was over. You fled the scene, silently but hurriedly. You knew why, but you didn't want to accept it. To accept that you left in such a rush because you couldn't keep your emotions in check..

↪ Ugh, that damn Kokichi! Could he have been anymore selfish? Forcing his way into your life, making you feel such wonderful inconvenient emotions, only to snatch all of it away and leaving you with the miserable feeling of anguish..

↪ He was truly the worst, you thought.

Nagito Komaeda

Even since the moment Nagito met his darling he knew it was a person filled with hope, a person with a bright potential and a future filled with hope, his admiration quickly grows as an obsession as he has the opportunity to see you more, an obsession that only grows more and more with each passing day

For Nagito it doesn't matter if you let him be in your live or doesn't even aknowledge his existance, for him is more than a blessing being able to be near you, and he wouldn't blame you if you don't want anything to do with trash like him

Nagito didn't mean to be pushy to enter in your life, but since he can't be away from you for too long and that need of being around you only grows with his obsession it was obvious that at one point you two will end up meeting. He expected for you to hate him for even daring to be around you but if you don't mind him being near you or even accept him he is shocked for it, and yet he will not dare to doubt you and just accept it

Once you let him enter in your life there is no way to get away from him, Nagito had swear to himself (and even to you) to be always with you and do whatever is needed to help you bright in an inmense and infinite hope and for that he become really clingy and dependent of you, doing whatever you ask him and accept whatever you say to him with a smile

Nagito just get used to you being cold and distant towards him, he doesn't expect nor think he deserve something else, won't even dare to ask for more, so when you start to open up more to him, even if is just a little he is incredibly surprised and even brush it off as if it was his imagination at first, but as you start to grow more and more comfortable around him there is no way for him to deny it

Nagito will probably try to deny it for as long as posible because he doesn't feel like he deserve it but it start to become more obvious in diferent ways, you had started to talk more, you start to express more of yourself and even smile, sometimes he is lucky enough to heard you laugh, and if he pay enough attention he can see your body language directed towards him, it was obvious that you started to feel free to open up to him

Nagito noticed your change but is too scare to accept it, so it isn't going to happen until someone else point it out (and even so it would take him a while, unless is you), and when he does finally accept that he is the one with who you feel the most comfortable he swears to himself that protect that feeling and never disappoint you

Your smile becomes his reason to continue living, and being the only one you allow to see it give him a boost of confidence, sudendly he feels special and important (but never more than you). Nagito even become more intense in every way posible, wanting nothing more to be with you and be able to make you happy, now he is even more eager to do everything in his power to make you happy and just fullfil your wishes, to help you reach the greatest hope

Also, Nagito never dare to question you anything he just accept you the way you are, so he never really pry into the details of the reason of your distrust and distant attitude towards others (he may actually wondered why but always brush it off as saying that is none of his business), he won't ask you even when you finally open up to him but if he get to know that is someone's fault because they had hurted you in the past it would be more probably that he will take things into matter because he hates the idea of you suffering, and he does it with the excuse that is because that bastard made you feel despair

Kazuichi Soda

It doesn't take him much time before falling in love with you, Kazuichi is the type that could fall in love at first sight, and when he does he does it hard, and just as quickly it is for him to fall in love it is to grow obsesive over you, in no time you had become the only thing that wander around Kazuichi's mind (not that he is complaining)

Kazuichi is delusional, he sees you as the peak of perfection and beauty, everyone most know and admire your beauty (but he doesn't concentrate on doing other admire you, he is more focused on admiring you himself and trying to give you everything you deserve), as well he doesn't even ask you or tries to win your trust before hand, he just came into your life and isn't planning to go away, one day he just came and talk to you as if you two already know each other from all your life (but with a little too much respect, maybe even as if you were royalty)

Although, even when he sees you as perfection itself he is unable to think that you don't like him, that posibility will break him completely so his mind doesn't even think on that, instead, when you act distant towards him he just doesn't believe it, it would take him a while to catch the idea of you not being comfortable or not wanting to share much with him, and when he does he is blaming himself for it, thinking that is probably his fault and he has to make it up for you

And just like that Kazuichi tries from all the ways he can think on to make you forgive him and to get in your good side again, he does everything he can for you, shower you with all kind of compliments and praises, trying to protect you from any kind of threaten (or at least, to anything that he sees as a threaten), Kazuichi is actually pretty open with his obsesion because he doesn't see anything bad in it, in his eyes everything is what you deserve and out of love

It will take him a while to notice that you had become more open and comfortable with him, and won't really notice it until it become more obvious, he doesn't get the little hints and just keeps trying to make it up for you, but when he finally does he couldn't be happier that you finally seem to be accepting him

When he finally sees your smile for him you had grow now even more beautiful! his praises and obsession only increase, from that day he just gets more determinanted to serve you and make you smile, it would take him a while to notice that you only feel comfortable to show yourself with him but if he does it only give him a boost on his ego and selfconfidece, someone so perfect like you shows him their perfect smile! obviousle he will feel honored! sudenly he feels incredibly special for being the only one allowed to see the smile of someone so special and perfect

Speaking of, he may don't brag about it with other but he will not shut up with his compliments and praises. As well, he is already pretty jealous but if he sees you smiling towards anyone else he wil be increadibly jealous, he thought he was special! he will never take it against you but it isn't probably that the other person will be safe (at least to his deadly glares and threatens)

Kazuichi doesn't pry for deep details, he asks more for superficial detais, personal details only when it comes to your likings and so on, so is probably that he won't exactly nor wonder why do you act the way you act, it is up to you if you decide to tell him or not, but if he ever get to know if is someone else fault that you don't feel comfortable being yourself he will be completely offended for what happened to you (like if it had happened to him), is more likely that he won't search revenge for you but it trigger his protectiveness, from that day he is keeping a close eye to anyone who dares even aproach to you, he had swear that no one will hurt you again in any way

Kokichi isn't the type who falls in love imediatly, for him is a slowly process, it started by a simple interested, your distant personality catches his eye and immediatly atracted to him but as the time pass that interest slowly and careful grows more and more, it reachs the point where he was so curious about you that wanted to know everything he can of you without noticing, becomes an obsession without him able to stop it

Kokichi is really smart and doesn't do anything without a plan, so even if he approach to you casually he has already a plan to get to know all your secrets, while in the outside he is just being goofy and childish in the inside he is getting all the information he can of you by all the means he needs

For Kokichi all of this was a simple game, he was just playing around with you, he planned to make you the victim of his silly jokes until he can get a reaction of you, however Kokichi didn't know (or at least he didn't want to accept it) but this was a game he was losing, the more time he pass with you and the more he gets to know about you his love and obsession done nothing but grow more and more, he thought he was the one in control when in reality he was already down bad for you, but he will not dare to admit it because he didn't want to feel that vulnerable

Once Kokichi knows everything he can of you the new part of his plan started, make you laugh. Kokichi wanted nothing more than have some fun, do some silly jokes and be consider funny by the ones he cares, even when he is terrible with expressing his true feelings, and since the day you catches his interest Kokichi had cling onto you and doesn't plan to let you go you become the one he wants to make smile the most

Kokichi is incredibly smart and is always paying too much attention to you, so he notice when you start to feel more comfortable right away, even if is only a little and there are only small hints of it that is more than enough for him to feel like he is starting to win the game, and to make him feel a boost of confidence on himself and his plan

When he finally manage to get a smile, or even better, a laugh from you is the point of not return, even if is something that lasted one second it was more than enough for Kokichi to fall in love all over again with you, that moment is what make Kokichi realize how beautiful you are, how much he loves you and how much he wish to see that beautiful smile again

Kokichi doesn't want to admit it, not even to himself (even when he has it clear) but he is quite dependent of his darling, he can say all he wants that he doesn't care for you and he does whatever he wants but in reality your opinion is what matters the most for him and he is desperate for you to love him the way he is, so when you finally smile for him, and only him, he becomes even more dependent, he becomes dependent of your smile and it becomes his purpose in live to continue making you smiling

It may wouldn't be so intense if it wasn't because of your distant personality, now that you allow him to be the only one you are able to express yourself freely and truly smile he is not willing to lose it, he is going to make everything in his power for you to never lose that smile and for you to smile for him and only for him. That honor of being the only one you smile at makes him even more possessive, it makes him feel special and it makes him want to be the only one to enjoy that pleasure

Kokichi already knows everything about you, so he already knows, or at least have an idea of what happened to you to become so distant from others, and if there is someone to blame for it he will make them pay without a doubt, they deserve it for trying to erase your beautiful smile

Amami Rantaro

It doesn't happen imediatly, it takes some time for him to happen, he falls in love first and then his obsession grows slowly but stronge, and even when he notice those growing intense feelings inside of him he just accept them because are feelings that grow out of love

It isn't difficult for Rantaro to enter in your life once he gets interested on you, even when he can be pretty misterious he is really charming and attentive, he appear to be trust worthy, he even openly accept if you don't trust him yet or aren't comfortable around him right away, or at least that what he says because inside is something that bothers him but stay calm reminding himself that is just matter of time, he will let you know that he isn't a threaten and you can trust him

Rantaro will be kindly pushing you to accept him, he understand that you prefer to be are distant to everyone and even wary but he isn't planing to let you go, so he just insist too much, but he do it so kindly and gentle that can go unnoticed or don't bother you at all

As the time pass Rantaro grows more clingy as his obsession grows, he just loves you so much that can't stay away from you and even when he isn't physicaly near you somehow he always knows where you are and what are you doing. He excuses himself by saying that he just want you to be safe, he had already lost all his sisters and despite everything he have done to trying to find them he haven't even find a trace of them and that lead him to be terrified by the thought of the same happening to you, he doesn't know what he will do if you ever go missing so he prefers to watch you closely to asure that you won't just disappear one day

Even when his unhealthy and obsessive behavior can be pretty obvious at times he always manage to cover up as being worried of you or even accidents, he is so good at covering up and finding convincing excuses that it is scary

Rantaro is a really observant and perseptive person, he is smart enough to notice when you start to feel more comfortable around him, even if there are just little hints like you getting a little more closer to him or starting to express a little more he notice it right away, and it makes his heart melt, Rantaro was used to your distant attitude and even when this was something he expected and wanted is still flattering, it gave him even more motivation to continue

Once you open up to him completely there is no way to stop Rantaro, he just feel like he is special for you, maybe as special you are to him, it make him think that you had fully accept him in your life and that would lead him to be more possessive and protective over you, he just had find out how beautiful your smile is and he isn't planning to lose it, besides he is really mature and is used to take care all of his sisters, he knows what it is the best for you and wants nothing more that see you smile

He wants to spend every second of the day by your side only to be able to discover all your other beautiful expressions, but, as much as he loves that you finally feel comfortable to express yourself with him Rantaro wants to be the only one with the privilege to see that beautiful sight, he had grow a little bit depend on you so if he even see you starting to express mor with another person, even if is a little Rantaro will feel threaten, and if he is trigger enough he will do something about it (not against you, never against you)

Rantaro had tried to find out the reason of why you are so distant to others, and won't be calm until he finds out, one way or another (without hurting you, of course) and if there is someone to blame Rantaro will hate them with his life, he won't do anything against them (unless that person hurt you badly), but if they cross his path or dare to even look at you again he probably won't be able to hold himself back

"i know what you're planning. i know you're dying tomorrow." they said as they looked him directly in the eye. they would've seemed completely stoic if it weren't for the way their voice shook.

"please, just... if you can find it in your heart, spare me once last dance."

he sighed wearily, then agreed.

the two of them swayed through the halls to the sound of their heartbeats, losing themselves in the comfort of each other and trying their hardest to forget the reality of their situation--if only for a bit. neither of the two lovers knew how much time they passed in the embrace before they seperated, looked at him with a bittersweet smile, muttered a soft "goodbye", and turned away to their dorm--not waiting to hear his response.

they woke up the next morning feeling something between contentment and dread. they tried their best to brush it away with a "what's done is done", getting up to head to the bathroom and going about their daily routine as though nothing was wrong.

when the body was found, they forced themselves to remain composed--to go through the same old song and dance they'd done the past four times. investigate, wait for the trial, go to the room, and keep the suspicion on kokichi.

they found out the truth. everything was going according to plan until shuichi pointed out the clothes in the toilet and from there it spiraled out of control and it would've been too suspicious if i'd tried to deny it by then. i think i can hear the rocket blasting off, but it sounds so faint. i can't tell.

two more people have died in vain. i failed you.

the city’s colors were drowned in a dullish haze, as rain poured into the scenery. y/n’s head tilted upwards, viewing the sunny skies that were hidden behind gray colors, as the clouds loomed over the city. the gentle breezes of May that were once soothing became chilling against wet skin and clothing. 

a shivering exhale escaped from their chest, before their head dropped low. with narrowed eyes, they watched their legs attempting to tremble despite the efforts to fight the shivers. y/n’s eyebrows furrowed along with their eyes squinting harder, before they nibbled on their dry lips and tilted their head to the right. through their nose, a harsh breath was forced out, then another noise jumped out once they processed the sound other than rain becoming louder.

after the weak gasp, they turned their head to the left, to see a familiar boy speeding up his walking. an umbrella was held with his left hand, while the right hand gripped the paper bag beside his body.

“y-y/n!”

with widened eyes, y/n adjusted their head to view the boy standing beside the bench they sat on. a shakened breath came out of him quickly, then he sat close to them to hover his umbrella over them both. 

“kichi…” y/n quietly called out to him, while observing the repetitive bites to his bottom lip, the strands of hair sticking to his neck and forehead, and his wide eyes that looked into theirs before straying away a few moments later. 

“i… got your calls! please , tell me how long you’ve been out here,” his pleas gave a light pained glint to their expression. feeling a tad impatient once the several seconds were filled with their silence and eyes looking away from him, he forcefully put the paper bag on their lap. “i brought food for you, and only you , okay?” his eyebrows furrowed while the stern tone of his voice left them confused with the emphasis, but more puzzled by the sudden determined voice. 

“hey… buddy, you sound worried, but—”

his fingers lightly went on their hand that was wet from heavy rain and relaxed from no energy. finally noticing his irises focused on their limp hand, their eyes traveled lower. his index finger caressed their skin, before he slid his hand to lay on top of theirs. with half-lidded eyes, a light glow to their eyes shimmered whilst they viewed and felt kichi’s thumb gently swaying back and forth.

their eyes met.

then he guided their hand into his; enveloping their palm with warmth.

  “please… let me worry,” his thumb, yet again, made gentle, swaying movements on their skin. he inhaled the cool air, and in sync, guided his eyes to look into theirs.

"What?"

"Oh, he has the Despair Disease. That's why, i-"

"No, i heard what you said. It's just- Are you telling me that you knew but didn't do anything?"

Miu parts her lips to speak up, yet words don't come up. She awkwardly averts her gaze, as if hoping you'd drop the fact that she, infact, doesn't care.

You sigh, rubbing the crook of your nose. It's only been a while of you locking yourself in your room to plan a way for you and the others to exit the game, if it is even possible. Yet, somehow, Kokichi follows your step, locking himself in his room, refusing anyone to let them in. Not because he's plotting an escape plan. But because he's sick.

You only just finally opened the door of your room to go to grab a drink. Coincidentally, Miu noticed you and approached you, giving you a heads up about Kokichi's status.

"Wha- Whatever, I'm just here to tell you. Since he's your boyfriend or something," Miu makes sure you see her crossing her arms before walking away, leaving you frustrated at the lack of their attention to Kokichi.

You watch as Miu disappear from the dormitory, perhaps to the gym or whatever. You couldn't care less. Like how they did to Kokichi.

You don't waste any time and hurry, practically running to Kokichi's bedroom even if it's not that far from yours.

You stare at his door for a while before knocking, "Hey. It's me. I heard the news. Can i come in?"

It's quiet. Too quiet. He would've been grinning and trying to get under your skin by now. Something like, "Oh, what's this? You're so worried about me. You're in love with me, huh? I can tell."

But, no. Even if how badly you want him to annoy you, he's not responding. You wait and waited. A minute or two had passed, perhaps. Yet, at least, you hear faint sounds coming from the other side of the door. It sounds like... Something heavy getting dragged. You start getting worried, which is why you knock a few times again.

"Hey? Kichi? Are you there? Is everything alr-"

Before you know it, there he is, the Ultimate Supreme Leader, opening the door. He's the same like always. Well, except the messy hair, eyebags, and... tired hollow eyes.

You waste no time to reach to him, cupping both of his cheeks gently as he blankly stares at you. The door opens wider, giving you a clear sight of his messier bedroom.

"Hey, did you eat?"

He doesn't respond, at all. Instead, he sighes softly, shutting his eyes and leaning onto your touch. It's quite a shock to see him like this. The normal Kokichi would laugh and refuse to let you see his weakness. But here he is now, wanting more of your affection.

"... Where have you been?" He mumbles, his voice is kind of muffled yet you could make out what he's trying to say. His voice is quite raspier than usual. Perhaps it's because of the disease. "I miss you."

You try your best to ignore the last statement, dismissing it as a side effect of the disease.

"You don't remember? I'm just having some me-time. It's good for me, especially at a time like this," You smile at his purple eyes, the ones that you adore so badly, glancing back at yours.

You don't really want anyone to know that you're planning to escape with them. Plans will get destroyed if more people know about it. It will be better if it's kept hidden.

Unfortunately, Kokichi, who is more sensitive now, takes it the wrong way.

"... I knew you'll get bored of me any time soon," He whispers hoarsely, yet loud enough for you to hear. "Am i that boring?"

Wow. You asked Miu for more informations about the Despair Disease, yet she didn't give you much. You didn't really have time to ask others as well. But, is this what Despair Disease could do to your mental state?

Even if his tone is weak and disappointed, yet he still clings onto your figure, making you support his weight, not caring whether he'll fall now. As if he trusts you enough.

The Kokichi you know would never say what's on his mind, genuinely. He'll speak in riddles or even say the opposite and you have to figure it all out on your own. And again, here he is, speaking clearly.

You need to get used to this side of him, otherwise you'll start prefer him to tease you again like how he usually does.

"... Let's just get inside, alright? Let's get you to bed. We don't want anyone to see you at this state, right?" You whisper softly to him as you pat his back gently, gesturing him to start walking to his bed.

He nods faintly. Yet as soon as you try to pull away, he trips. You catch him in time, though. Finally, you figured out that earlier, the two minutes he took to open his door, is him crawling on the floor to open it.

God, you feel so bad.

You give him a small reassuring smile as you rest his arm around your shoulder. Your arm holds his waist gently, beginning to help him walk to his bed slowly yet steady.

He never really said anything, but you figured he thank you silently. Or perhaps he's just too tired to say anything. If that's the case, then he really gave his all to blurt words to you back then.

As you lay his thin figure onto his bed gently, you make sure the pillow is fluffy enough, giving it a little preparation. Kokichi watches as you tucks him in under the blanket. You notice the way his breath hitches as you pull away. Is he afraid that you'll leave him again?

Yet, you never will. You shift to sit at the side of the bed, giving him a small smile as you rub his chest gently to give him a sense of comfort. Something he never really felt until he met you. Even at a time like this. Well, not that you'll know.

It's been a while of him staring back at you in silence. He's sick. Of course he acts differently than the usual. You figured it would be best to stay quiet, as well.

Actually, you're getting quite used to this state of his. His calm state. Well, he's been calm, yes. But, when he's not trying to gouge reactions of others. When he's not trying to get their attention by saying something off-putting.

Kokichi, the usual trickster, being not afraid to show you who he really is, is quite sweet. You could always tell that he has a special liking towards you. You're the most frequent one to get annoyed by him. Not because he hates you. But, because he likes your reaction more than anyone's. Who'd care for the other's reactions if he could see yours?

He'd never admit it, but he's quite at ease if he's beside you. At your side. With you.

Breaking the silence, he parts his lips, "I'm hungry."

Oh, so now he's hungry. You never really think about how he's been when he's without you around. Does he starve himself because he doesn't trust anyone but you?

"Come to think of it, you didn't answer my question earlier."

"Which one...?"

"The one about whether you ate or not today, dear."

"... I dunno. Forgot," He averts his gaze, his cheeks slightly redden. Luckily enough for him, you didn't notice it.

You smile, gritting your teeth as you try your absolute best to hide the fact that you're rather furious. Not at him, of course. To them who don't care about him. The others.

Well, you can't really blame them. Kokichi is... Quite something to handle. It's not surprising for them to avoid him. But, seriously? Even when he's vulnerable? When he needs someone to cling to?

No matter how much you try to hide it, Kokichi could tell that you're mad. Which is why, he weakly rests his warm fingers on the back of your palm. As if reassuring you. Or to calm you down. Who knows.

Kokichi frowned at the sight of you overworking yourself like this, sighing and placing his hand onto your your shoulder, making your head shoot up for a moment and let out a light yelp.

“Y/N…we should atleast enjoy the time before finals and just hang out right…?” He muttered, not liking seeing his close friend overwork themself like this. You shook your head once more and turned to look at your best friend’s worried expression, his hand slightly quivering from worry.

You smiled and positioned your hand onto his hand, which was comfortably planted onto your shoulder. “Kokichi…it’s alright okay? I know you always had that expression when you were scared or worried…it’s been a habit of yours ever since you were a little kid.” You laughed, making Kokichi redden from the embarrassment of one of his old habits being brought up.

Suddenly, Kokichi lowered his head down onto your shoulder and tilted it slightly, so that he could get a better view of your notes. He slid his hand underneath your notebook and lifted it up into your face, squeezing his fingertips in and folding his palm so that the notebook slammed shut directly in your face. You flinched as the air hit your face, your eyes squeezing shut for a moment and your head jerking backwards as Kokichi laughed at your reaction.

You grumbled and slapped the short, purple haired male on the shoulder, grabbing your notebook as fake tears welled up in his eyes, and he grabbed his shoulder in supposed “pain”

“Owww! Y/N! That really hurtttt!” He whined as he made a crying noise and tears spilled down from his eyes. You simply crossed your arms, staring at him with an eyebrow raised until he stopped his bullshit.

“Kokichi, that’s not gonna work on your childhood friend. I’ve seen you do this way too much already.” You replied bluntly as Kokichi opened one eye to check your expression and groaned, a pout forming on his face from the lack of reaction from you.

“You’re no fun! Lying about being hurt usually gets someone to feel bad, which is fun as hell!” He said as his expression shifted to a grin, his arms stretching backwards, and his hands resting on the back of his head.

For a moment, Kokichi looked like he had a lightbulb appear above his head, and he swung his checkered backpack around from his back onto your desk, unzipping it and scrambling through it to find something.

You tilted your head sideways, peeking over slightly as his small frame dug through his backpack. “Aha! There it was!” He proudly announced as he pulled a can of your favorite soda out of his bag and slammed it onto the corner of your desk, smiling proudly at you.

“See! I came prepared! I knew you would refuse to come with us and I know soda always bribes you!” Kokichi blurted out excitedly, his eyes brimming with a mischievous light. You rolled your eyes and smiled, slipping your index finger underneath the tab of your soda can and cracking it open, taking a sip of the cool, fizzy drink. You forgot that Kokichi was right, you could be bribed out of your work with soda.

You shot a glance up at him for a moment, the can to your lips again, and covering your mouth. He was on his phone, still excited from being able to get you out of studying. You smiled with the cool drink still against your lips, you found it quite adorable how Kokichi cared for you so much as his best friend, despite being an annoying tease and a liar.

You sighed and put the can back down, sliding your notebook into your backpack and zipping it closed. You slid your arm through the armholes and held onto the strap of your bag, picking up your soda in your other hand.

“I’ll come to the movies, okay?” You affirmed as you patted his back gently. Kokichi beamed with a smile and hooked his arm with yours, running out of the classroom at full speed, while texting your class groupchat with his other hand. “Kokichi-! Slow down or it’s gonna spill!” You exclaimed as he dragged you through the hallway, and outside the school.

Despite the initial shyness and confusion once Gundham start a relasionship he does know that he loves and holds close to his heart that person (not everyone can get close to the forbidden one after all), it will take him a while to ge used to be in a relationship but even if is a slow process you can see that he actually actively seaks your company and is always happy to be with you (he doesn't even have shame to express it, but he does it in his own way)

Is just normal to care about someone is important for you, and he won't really be an exception nor even try to hide the fact that he cares about you (although, he normally just insist that he has to protect his beloved from the unworthy mortals or even from his cursed powers, even when you seem to be immune to them)

Even when he can be dramatic and eccentric he genuinely cares about you, he tent to pay close attention to you either for worry or simply apreciation, he finds some difficulties to express himself and interact with others but since he have always being taking care of diferent animals he is more more used to pay attention to the reactions, he honestly doesn't care much about others reactions and just be himself, but he cares about yours so he is contantly paying close attention to you

There is a high chance that Gundham reach the conclusion of you not being exactly emotionally alright, even if you say that you are fine he can see the sadness on you, he isn't exactly strange of such feelings but he doesn't want to be pushy or assume the worst from the start, so is more likely that he tries to remember you that you have him here for you if you ever need help and even encorage you to speak to him if there is something bothering your mind, he will use his powers to help you delete the burden without a doubt

Getting to see you having a mental breakdown is something Gundham didn't really wanted to see, not because it was disturbing or ugly but because it hurts his heart watching someone he loves so much suffering like this, there is an initial anxiety but despite that Gundham will imediatly try to help you. It doesn't matter if he found you when you were already in this state or if you broke down at his side, Gundham will imediatly try to help you out, and he is actually surprisingly good at helping you calm down by trying to create a comfortable enviroment and taking your mind out of whatever was bothering, still he won't stop you from venting all you need

Honestly, seeing you like this make him feel anxious and in distress, but he push aside his own worriy to fully focus on helping you calm down, because when you finally calm down then he calms down too

Getting to know that you actually suffer from depression may don't really surprise him but that doesn't mean it doesn't hurt him, Gundham feels his heart squeezing by the news and he will be totally up to voice off his worries ti my to make you see that in this world there is someone who loves you and want to see you well

After that day Gundham will try to be more attentive over your mood and feelings, being more direct with expressing how much he worries and loves you (even when he feels incredibly embarrassed or even shy), and never fails in reminding you that you managed to pass through the cold walls of his heart, and because of that he must respond with the same care and show the love he has for you and only you

Fuyuhiko is having a hard time to adjust to be in a relationship, even when he won't be in one if he isn't 100% that he loves you and this is what he wants he is just feel troubled because he doesn't want anything bad happening to you because of him, so he mainly show his affection and love by indirect ways

For being the powerful yakuza he is Fuyuhiko has learn to read the body language of the people and to always pay attention to his surroundings, so even when he feels bad for watching your every move so intensely he just can't help but do it from time to time, specially when he suspect that something is off with you. It actually be a little difficult to hide your depression from him for how much attention he puts on you, however there is a high chance that he doesn't think that is for depression but for feeling uncomfortable or even treaten by your surroundings (is more likely that Peko is the one who think on the posibility of being something more emotional)

Fuyuhiko fears that something could happen to you so he tries to asure your safety as much as he can, directly or indirectly, he does even try to bring you the feeling of safety and security when he is around, that could lead you to feel comfortable enough to just let all those emotions you have being bottle up explode

Seeing you having a mental breakdown will be totally shocking for Fuyuhiko, he really wants to ensure your safety so watching you explore like that it just trigger him too much, he probably will just assumed from the start that you have been attacked or someone or something have threaten you, but when you start saying all those things that your mind tells you that come from the depression Fuyuhiko will be shocked again, he will even stop and just stare at you while the frustration and anger build inside if him; he is not mad at you, in the slighest, he is mad at himself for not noticing this sooner, he is mad at himself for underestimating your condition and letting himself being blinded for all those times you said you were fine, he may don't know what is like to be depressed, but he can see how much distress this causes you and he knows how bad this kind of pressure can affect a person

Fuyuhiko wants to help you but he himself is feeling in so much distress by just seeing you in this state that he doesn't really is able to think on something that can help you right now, so he just decide to try to bring you the feeling of comfort and safety again, holding you close (if you let him) and just let you vent all you need, he probably will end up showing some vulnerability too by showing you how worried he is for you

Ayer this episode Fuyuhiko will remind himself that you aren't alright quite a lot, if he wants to protect you he has to do it from that voice on your head that tells you all that horrible things too, even if he doesn't know how he is determinated to help, and the first step is to search for profesional help (he will kinda force you to seak the profesional help but he insist that is for your own good and that he will be there with you in every step of the way)

After that day Fuyuhiko will be constantly asking you how you feel and will pay even more attention to you, however he will be a little awkward and nervous about approaching the topic, so he is kinda trying to motivate you to talk about it (and seaking Peko's help too because he just feel a little incopetent in this topic)

For Kokichi starting a relationship means a big step because is letting someone to be close enough to have the opportunity to see him in vulnerable moments, and even if he doesn't express it much he will want for you to feel comfortable enough to do the same (he actually expect it, as if he was trying to confirm that is alright to do it by your example)

Kokichi really wants to make you happy and be a good boyfriend, he cares for you enough to let you be close to him, so he doesn't really want anything bad happen to you and that lead him to pay a lot of attention to you (also because he wants to see your reaction to diferent situations, specially his jokes and pranks)

Kokichi is really smart and observant, it won't be easy to trick him and hide things from him, so even if you try to hide your depression from him he will find out soon or later, however he may not confront you about it right away, he opt more to give you little hints to let you know that he knows or that there is something important that you should talk to him

Honestly, Kokichi is a little offended that you would hide something like this from him, your boyfriend! But more than offended Kokichi is worried, he isn't stupid nor insensitive, he knows how much damage can do to a person things like anxiety and depression and it hurts his heart knowing that you aren't just suffering from this but also you are trying to handle it alone

Kokichi is already incredibly worried about the posibility of something serious happening to you due the depression, so when you have a mental breakdown because of it is like if the world were falling apart, is just that Kokichi feels like he already knew this would happen but didn't did anything about it and now you are in this state!

Despite feeling frustrated and even slighly guilt because of it Kokichi will try to keep his composture and imediatly help you, and he is actually good at it but what he does depend on how bad is your actual stage is, going from trying to distract you, taking your mind off of whatever your mind is telling you and making you focus completely on him or to actually trying to help you catch your breath just enough to don't drown or something and let you vent

However, if the case is that he had found you when you were already having a mental breakdown it will be more difficult for him to stay composed because it hit him harder, still he will try to help you calm down at the same time as he tries to calm down himself

After this experience there is no way Kokichi will let you keep hiden and bottle up your emotions like that, even if he has to be pushy he will be constantly asking what and how you feel because he doesn't want you to push yourself to the edge like that ever again

Kokichi will indirectly suggest for you to seak help, the ideal is to seak profesional help but if you don't feel ready for that then at least let him and your other friends help you. As well, Kokichi will try to have more affectionate features with you, direct and indirect displays of the inmense affection he has for you because he doesn't want you to never forget that there is someone on the world that loves you and want you to be alright (specially when he knows you are feeling specially down)
