my man | aizawa shouta X reader
[oneshot; (part 1) . (part 2 will be out soon)]
.
It's bittersweet walking through the gates of the school building you would run around in with your friends almost a decade ago now.
Not a thing has changed, you can still imagine yourself chasing Shirakumo to get back your lunch while the other girls leave you behind not wanting to deal with what comes next.
This 'next' is Yamada's loud calls. Obviously, the whole of the school would know who he is looking for during the breaks. His voice made it from one end of the school to the other and that, when U.A. covers a massive swathe of land.
One of the only unfamiliar places of the school is where you're headed now– the teachers' lounge.
It's going to go well.. relax.
You're nervous, not because you've now chosen to teach in the very school you yourself became a hero but because you will finally be in front of the faces you haven't seen in ages having needed to move abroad immediately after school for your mother's cancer treatment.
The door opens before you can hold the knob revealing the same principal from years ago, you wonder if he ever ages at all.
"Just in time, (L/n)-san. I just briefed the other teachers about you." his lips curve to the same smile you've known forever and instantly, one rises up your face, he continues, "How have you been?"
"I've been doing well." you smile and enter as he open the door thereby coming into sight of all the people sitting in the room.
"That's brilliant to hear." Nezu lifts his paw, but before he can say anything else, a way-too-loud call of "(Name)-chan! You're the new teacher?" cuts in.
Nezu doesn't hold you both back from having your moment. Instantly, Yamada hurries in for a hug, "You're back– wait, I should be mad at you for not keeping in touch!"
Midnight is next, she calls you her favourite Kohai from school times and brags to everyone about the fun you all would have fun after basically lifting you and swinging you around in the hug.
The others teachers chuckle and them and tell you they haven't been their chaotic selves in some time before this.
It is during the talk with the new people around that you notice Aizawa Shouta leaned against the wall in the corner of the room, his face turned to the ground in front and a conflicted look adorning it.
Your lips twitch– he hasn't even come to greet you despite you having returned after almost a decade.
Something tells you you shouldn't be surprised, however. He has always been his 'stay out of attention' self. Maybe he didn't want to draw too much of attention to the fact that he knows you too?
But he is a teacher here so he shouldn't be complaining about attention in the first place.
Oh, whatever reason it is.
You make your way to him while the fuzziness from years ago enters your chest again. It's alright– you know you feel exactly the same way for him as you did years ago.
Or maybe whatever this is more intense. You've longed for him for almost a decade now after all.
"Shouta-kun." his name sounds melodic as it leaves your lips, "H-How are you doing?" there is a small pause, "I mean.. y-you remember me, right?"
The indifferent, unfamiliar look in his eyes makes your throat fill up with an acidic doubt. You swallow hard.
"I don't have the memory of a goldfish, (Name)-chan." he sigh and turns his head to the side, "Of course I remember you. You were way to noisy to forget back then."
"I can't tell whether that's a compliment or an insult." the laugh that escapes your lips is more of relief than amusement.
He hums, then steps away from you, turning to say, "Go figure out." before he walks off.
You halt, blinking a few times at his figure leaving the room.
"It's time for class." Yamada's arm falls on your shoulder, "It's not that he's running from you or something, okay?"
You let out a snort, "As if I'd assume that." but you partially have.
"Lie to someone else." he shakes his head, then holds his hands in front of his face, "Shouta-kun's mind is tunnel visioned to his students like this during work hours here. All of ours are– minus Nemuri-chan because she's.. well forget it, you'll get to know –but, point is, you'll have to work hard here, (Name)-chan."
"Oh, hit me with anything, Hizashi-kun." your lips tug upwards.
He frowns, "But that day I hit you with the iron rod, you cried."
.

.
"What does go figure out even mean?" your head rests against the glass window. Classes ended half an hour ago and you're proud to say you did pretty well for a first time.
"It means go figure out." Yamada gives you company to act like an idiot in front of the departing students, "What do you think it is, a compliment or an insult?"
"Totally an insult." you deadpan at him.
"At least your retardation hasn't gotten worse over the years." Aizawa's voice walks past the both of you and you and Yamada immediately jolt straight and turn to see him walk away with test papers.
"A test on the first day of school after summer break?" you shiver, "Shouta-kun's the devil to his students."
"Oh," Yamada shakes his head pitifully, "he is. Before the last year, he always told the whole class they've failed and are expelled from the school just to give them a near death experience."
"That idiot.. " your gaze lingers on his figure walking further away in the corridor. The boy you knew was just nineteen when you last saw him.
He's a man now.
They both really did age well.
Your mind prefers to place Aizawa on the top of this 'aging well' hierarchy until Midnight comes into your mind and you have to readjust with a chuckle.
To celebrate your return, Yamada drags you all into a restaurant he owns for dinner later that evening.
Partially, you hope he would have given you time to get dressed pretty for a certain pair of tired black eyes but the other part argues you've lose your head in stress of what to wear and what to not if that happened.
Conversations drag on at the table while plates empty into all of your stomachs. Being heroes means a massive diet after all.
"And then there was this weird self-obsessed-ish kid." you did try to eat decently in front of the others but they remembered how rabid you are so it was no good.
"Who– wait, I know. It's Monomoa." Yamada laughs, "No one else in 2B fits under that terminology."
"He's not self obsessed, come on." Aizawa sighs and shakes his head, "Are you seriously considering teaching at U.A. a joke?"
"I mean.. " you shrug, "they took you in so it would be pretty lousy here, wouldn't it?"
Yamada and Kayama laugh.
"Oh?" Aizawa's eyebrows raise, "Says the girl who lost a Sports Festival match because a bug got into her costume."
"For your information, it was a worm." you gag at the memory, "And it reminded me of you and your yellow sleeping bags, Shouta-kun. Now tell me then, do you want something that reminds me of you to be wiggling around my boobs?"
Yamada snorts out a glass of water to the side. Aizawa scoffs though he clearly is surprised to see you're just as shameless as you were back then.
"When will you ever grow up?" he rolls his eyes.
"When you get your hair cut short." you place the glass on the table with full confidence, ignoring the way Yamada signals you to change your statement from the side.
"Tomorrow then." Aizawa nods, his lips pulling into his signature shit-eating grin, "If you don't grow up tomorrow, you're responsible for cleaning up all toilets in the staff room."
You realize he would definitely have his hair chopped if it means rubbing this into your face, "Don't you dare touch your hair, Shouta-kun." you life your knife up at him, "Those luscious locks must stay."
While Aizawa facepalms, Kayama laughs out loud in laughter. You tell her she's laughing at anything and she replies telling you you're hilarious.
"And," you turn back to Aizawa, "if that's your way of inviting me to your bathroom, Shouta-kun, I accept the offer." the way he rolls his eyes is enough to make you stop using the playfully seductive tone.
Yamada rubs his cheeks, "Man, living with Shouta-kun's going to give me depression. I haven't laughed much yet but my cheeks already hurt. I'm so glad you're back, (Name)-chan."
"Me too." your expressions melt like butter, you flash them all a beautifully genuine smile, voice getting the slightest bit heavy, "I missed you all so much."
"If you cry, I'll puke." Aizawa comments.
"If I puke, I'll make you lick it all off." you comment back, expressions stoic and staring into space.
Aizawa makes a disgusted face. Kayama has almost actually puked out something at the thought. This sort of talk while eating effects Yamada as little as it does you.
"You took general studies too?" Aizawa sighs and decides to change the topic before you say something more gross.
"Yep."
"Anyone noticeable?"
"If you mean that purple turnip head boy with eyes as head as yours, yes. If you mean anything other than the fact that he's probably an insomniac, no." you shrug and take a bite of your food.
"That's Shouta-kun's son." Yamada snidely mentions. You choke and cough out the contents of your mouth.
"Stop it, Hizashi-kun." Aizawa tiredly leans in his chair.
"You know I won't, don't you?" he grins, "That's the kid Aizawa gives personal lessons too because the kid's quirk is brain related and– oi, he's not actually Shouta-kun's son."
"Oh?" you'd been moments away from hyperventilating and talk airily, "O-Of course.. I-I mean why would he be.. Shouta-kun's too young to have a kid that old."
"Shouta-kun wouldn't have a kid at all because he would sleep through the wedding." Kayama repeats an OG joke from the childhood and you and Yamada laugh nostalgically.
Aizawa's head lolls back tiredly, "So this is a one-sided bullying session against me?"
"Aw, don't be sad about it, Shouta-kun." you coo, "They say only the prettiest people get bitched about. I'm sure you wouldn't mind."
He turns to you, "What stupid romance novel did you read this in now?"
You blink, "What do you mean romance novel?"
"Considering your life outside fantasy is non existent." he tilts his head, "What was that fiction you would read back in the day? You remember it, Hizashi-kun?"
"Ah.. " his eyebrows raise as your ears glow red, "I'd totally forgotten.. don't remember what it was about, though."
Aizawa's grin returns, "A weird hero with silky black hair saves a girl from death and they fall in– " you cut him off before he can say something more to embarrass you.
Just as fucking oblivious about it now too, aren't you, Shouta-kun.
"You paid a lot of attention to me back then, eh, Shouta-kun." this gives you the responsive pause you need, "You even remember the details of the story. Oh my, you weren't jealous, were you?"
Take that, bitch.
The voice in your head says it in too adoring a way for you to be able to muster any sassy expressions. A soft look adorns your face instead.
Aizawa's expressions have dropped to zero. His ears well hidden under his own hair are radiating heat now, it's obvious by the unusual tint against his pale skin.
"Exposed." Yamada snickered, "Poor boy Shouta."
"Shut up, will you?" the man frowns and drops himself against the chair once more, "Fucking noisy, both of you."
"Oh my," your hand comes to your mouth, "did I just hear sensei swear? How dirty."
"I will kill you." he threatens, head turning away.
"Oh," you say in a dramatized tone, "don't you already?"
Aizawa huffs, his scarves covering his cheeks to hide the tint of pink. Kayama realises she wants to see the same colour on your face.
"First day back and she's already flirting with Shouta-kun." her snicker punches your guts, "How obvious you make your crush on him, (Name)-chan."
The effect is immediate, hot red pumps into your face. You pass her a betrayed look but she and Yamada are too busy grinning at each other to care.
Aizawa doesn't interfere or even choose to take a shot against you at this. He pretends to not have heard this at all.
Your lips curve low, it bothers you that he would not react in any way on hearing something like this.
Even if he is not interested in you, you still do wish to have some or the other sort of response from him whenever you gather the courage to confess to him but this firsthand scenario doesn't bring in much.
The cold look from the teacher's lounge appears in your mind momentarily.
You find the need to take a bathroom break.

.
It's been some time since you've been teaching at U.A., though it was mostly a behind-the-curtain work schedule.
Nezu has decided to make you an official homeroom teacher the next year which means you get teacher training.
"What are we doing?" you're not very sure about what Yamada is leading you into. Principal Nexu did say there is going to be a new task for you today and that your loud friend would take you to it but it definitely has nothing to do in front of Aizawa's classroom, right?
Yamada barges in, "Yeeaah!" he's just as full of energy as ever, "Good morning my lovely little listeners!"
There is a decently energetic response.
While Aizawa tells him to get out, Yamada makes an annoucement, "I'm going to introduce a new teacher to you all today! She's your sensei's very special friend."
You're not the only one who has facepalmed. Aizawa tiredly begs you to take him away with the look on his face.
The students beat you teachers to making a move, though.
"Are we talking about the new teacher you were standing beside with your head against the window with yesterday?" a girl asks.
"Bingo!" Yamada's hands point to her, "This new teacher is," you're dragged inside with one hand, "(L/n) (Name) sensei! The one person in the world who knows how to bully your sensei!"
Aizawa claps sarcastically, "Wow, what an enlightening introduction."
"You really could have done better, Hizashi-kun." you feel embarrassed to be pulled in front of everyone like this, "That's just.. "
"Whatever it is, out, both of you. Now." Aizawa orders.
You hold back from making a 'hot sensei giving orders' joke about him in front of the kids and choose to focus a little longer on the way his hair hangs around his face.
"Oi, her training session briefing is under your surveillance." Yamada tells him and Aizawa mutters something about wanting to be dead, "Take care of the both of them, you all!" he turns to the students.
They don't immediately understand.
"They could either A, fight and kill each other or B, make out and be kicked out from the– " you grab his arm and throw him out, then instantly turn to the class with a strict look.
"Don't you all dare get any funny ideas."
They all clearly push the gossip for later when they reply with a "yes ma'am".
Aizawa behind you looks like he's about to bang his head to the wall. Clearly, he isn't very eager to see his students get the wrong idea and thereby become a topic of gossip.
You honestly wouldn't step in that pit either.
"I'll only be joining you all for training session today." you have your strict face on, "If you think your sensei is bad, I'm a nightmare." but it just so happens that Aizawa snorts at that spoiling the seriousness behind your words.
When you turn to him, you find him trying to make a straight face through amusement. That, but the students can see because he's turned away from them and is walking towards you.
"Grab your suits and hurry down to training." he tells them, "And you, nightmarish teacher, come behind me."
Your jaw drops, "Are you ridiculing me, Shouta-kun?" of course the kids wouldn't mind some drama from you too, right?
Well Shouta's fault, not mine.
"Yes. I'm surprised your pea sized brain can tell." he walks out of the class leaving you behind but not any chances for you to cause the drama until the students turn to you.
"Good luck, new sensei." one of them says, "Go turn the look in your eyes to words and he'll say yes for sure.. maybe.. "
"Hey, what the hell?" you snap your head towards this blond boy with the black lighting bolt in his hair, "Behave." but he looks too conflicted to pay attention.
"Actually, he's definitely going to reject you." he speaks up a moment later, "B-But that's because Aizawa sensei has zero romance drive, not because you're not cool or something. You're super cute— ah, nevermind."
His face buries in his hands.
You don't understand whether to coo at the kid or just laugh out loud. Aizawa peeks in from the side of the door a moment later and you decide to just escape the odd situation.
Some strict nightmarish teacher you are.
.

.
"Oh, you fucking monster." your body is sore, "This was supposed to be training for the kids, not me."
"Right?" Aizawa lazily examines the papers, "It's such a shame you're so out of shape. How good you were back when we were kids."
"Says the guy who always defeated me in the sports festivals." you frown.
"You never even tried to fight." he hums, eyes focused on the training report sheets he made the students write, "Never understood that. I do remember how mercilessly you threw Hizashi out of boundaries."
"Couldn't hurt your pretty face, you know." you shrug, heat rising to your cheeks but you play it cool, "Plus Hizashi was just annoying during sports festivals."
"His quirk is being loud, (Name)-chan." Aizawa's eyes roll over to your for a moment. You find yourself admiring how well he has matured once again, "But that being put aside, how come you're this out of shape?"
I'm not out of shape, Shouta-kun..
"I was distracted by how handsome of a man you've become." you word it in a ridiculing tone but there isn't an inch of your statement that isn't true, "Oh, the jawline, the super pull-able hair and the muscles."
Aizawa rolls his eyes.
"And the eye rolls." this comes out a lot softer and warmer. You've missed his eye rolls for so long now.
"Uh-huh?" Aizawa takes half his pile of papers and gives them to you to check promising lunch if you help him with it, "What, has being single for so long started getting to you?"
An amused giggle leaves your lips, you cuddle into the couch ignoring the papers completely, "People think you're such a nice, serious guy, Shouta-kun. Me and Hizashi know."
"Know what?" his eyes linger at the papers for a little, then on a cut on your ankle.
"That's you're such a dirty little boy." you lean towards him, "Being single has gotten to me? Oh no, babyboy, you've gotten to me."
He makes a face, you immediately dramatize gag at your words to not make him doubt your words to be true.
"You're disgusting." he tells you.
"You're disgusting too. What was the need to toss me around like that in front of the students?" you frown, "I've got cuts and bruises all up my legs."
His eyes rest on the little cut on your ankle again, "Why didn't you go see recovery girl?"
"Recovery grandma?" your eyebrow raises, "She's still here?"
"Oh she is." he drops his pen and leans back into the couch too. Aizawa is tired, he needs his coffee. It's already the time of the day when Hizashi comes in with a cup of coffee for him, Aizawa doesn't understand why he's late today.
"There isn't much that has changed." you hum, head turned up towards him while leaning against the couch, "It's just you and Hizashi."
"We've changed?" his head rolls to you.
"Physically." you say, "Plus Hizashi-kun said he's seeing someone so that has changed.. are you?"
"Am I seeing someone?" Aizawa's eyes blink lazily, irises focused into yours, "The only thing I'm seeing is papers." he pulls his boots off, "So many of them."
"Do you not take breaks?" your eyes focus on the bags under his, finger going up immediately to touch the skin, "I'm worried you'll get too stressed like this and— " you're cut off by him.
"What are you doing?"
You blink, "What?"
"What are you doing? Your hand is on my face, (Name)-chan." there's a pause as he pulls his head away, "That's.. weird."
Your lips tighten, "R-Right.. sorry."
"It's fine.. " tension fills into the air, "Just.. don't do it again."
"Sure.. " your head droops along with your expressions. It's odd hearing this— it could still be him messing around with you but he'd give you an indication then.
You feel dejected, as though he's throwing you off before you even tell him how much you'd wish to drown into him.
Should I.. ?
But how can you indirectly relay your feelings to him just to make sure he doesn't actually with to reject you if you ever do.
It may just be under the tag of friendship, but there is still warmth in Aizawa's eyes when he looks at you. You know to not classify this as just friendship.
"Ah.. " your hands cover your face, "Life is moving forward, no?"
"Obviously." his head rests back.
"I knew you as a young boy, Shouta-kun. You were nineteen when I had to leave." a smile slips up your face like butter, your tone is adoring, "You've become a man now."
"What else do you expect me to become?" he shifts to the side to get better view of you.
You roll your eyes, "You probably feel what I'm talking about too, right? I was just a little girl when you last saw me."
"It just so happens that you've not grown at all." he shrugs, "Not by brains, not by height," his eyes lower from your face for a fraction of a second but Aizawa happens to have the best control over himself, he doesn't let his expressions show this at all, "so, no. I can't tell."
You, on the other hand, are shameless. Mostly.
"If what you want to say is that my boobs and hips have grown, don't be shy, Shouta-kun." you wave your hand at him, "It's not like I don't notice when you stare."
He makes an odd expression again, then turns away.
"That's weird, (Name)-chan. It's not right, don't say stuff like that."
You blink, "Not right?"
He shifts uncomfortably, gaze flickering in the air before he gets up and walks away muttering something about you stepping over boundaries.
You frown, instantly getting up and following after him.
"What's weird, Shouta-kun? What boundaries am I stepping? Let me know at least."
He doesn't stop, neither does he reply. When you don't stop following him, Aizawa just walks into the men's bathroom.
"Bitch." you cuss under your breath, eyes getting glassier for some reason. It's odd to see such behaviour from his side.
It's already been some time since the both of you have been spending breaks together, it's a coincidentally convenient schedule.
Every single time, however, there is either one or another moment where something odd crosses over Aizawa and he wouldn't talk to you anymore.
You hate it when he does this.
You hate him not talking to you and treating you like you're just any friend.
"Oh, (L/n)-san?" Toshinori Yagi steps out of the bathroom, "How come you're standing in front of the men's bathroom?" he chuckles, "Am I getting fangirling for going to the bathroom this time?"
"O-Oh.. nevermind." you're not in right headspace to pay heed to what he has just said, "Wait.. actually, please just drag Shouta-san out, sir."
He blinks, "What?"
There's only one way to end the whirlpool of anxiety in your guts.
"Just.. please drag him out of the bathroom. He's only waiting for me to leave, I'm sure."
All Might blinks but doesn't say anything as he turns and reenters the space restricted from you.
Luckily, he manages to succeed. A tired looking Aizawa steps out and sighs, "What?"
Your eyebrows twitch in annoyance, "What do you mean what, Shouta-kun? You— come with me." you grab his arm and drag him away into the pantry of the teachers' lounge.
"What do you want, (Name)-chan?" he wouldn't look at you now.
"I want to tell you you're a bitch." you huff, "A-And.. " your lips press tight, "I.. w-want to tell you.. "
"Hurry up, I have papers to check." he's clearly looking for excuses to avoid you but you don't intend to let him get his way.
"Shouta-kun.. I.. " it's so much harder than you thought it would be, you feel like crying.
Oh fuck, just let it out.
"I just.. I've always.. " a shaky breath leaves your lips, eyes closing to avoid your eyes from popping out with how fast your heart beats, "I love you."
Absolute silence follows.
When you can't take it anymore, you shoot your eyes open only to find a look of conflict and frustration on Aizawa's face. It's spontaneous– something stops in your chest and a loud ringing fills your ears.
"You.. shouldn't have said that." Aizawa's words are the only that make way to your ears though the buzz, "That's not good. It's– we're not doing this, (Name)-chan. You.. shouldn't be doing this."
Your lips shut tight, throat too dried up to speak all of a sudden.
Aizawa inhales, his face turning away and voice low and heavy, "I don't feel the same, (Name)-chan. It's concerning you feel this way.. it's hilarious of an idea in the first place."
His words act as daggers stabbing your heart.
"And.. I don't think.. I mean, of course you know I wouldn't fall for a person like you even in my nightmares." a hollow, dry chuckle escapes his lips before his head drops to the floor with his lips pressed in a thin line.
The worse they can say is no?
A voice inside you laughs at your stupid self.
" ..Right.. " your voice barely makes it out. The tear rolling down your cheek beats it, " ..Uhm.. I-I'm just gonna go.. " your feet drag you away silently.
It's hard to walk through the teachers' lounge without breathing at all. The moment you've stepped out into the empty hallways, a deep, broken exhale brings down streams of tears.
Your legs beg to give out, chest throbbing painfully making ripples of stress travel throughout your body.
Somewhere to your side, Yamada's voice calls out to you. The next moment you know, you're running out of the school building towards the teachers' dorms.
.
"How long is he going to take today?" Shinsou's feet tap against the ground, "Sensei's here around this timegenerally."
Yamada hums, his gaze focused on the ground, "You know.. I think there might be some connection to (Name)-chan and Shouta-kun's spoilt mood recently."
Shinsou blinks, "I'm not going to act like you saying that should mean anything other than them being on bad romantic terms considering there is no other sensible interpretation to your words."
The hero nods, "Yup."
"What?"
"A few days ago, I saw her running away after crying outside the teachers' lounge. I chased after her and talked but she didn't say much. Shouta-kun was gloomy that day."
"What did he say?" Shinsou throws his mask to the side and hurries to sit in front of Yamada, "You did try to talk to him, right?"
Yamada shrugs, "He wouldn't talk. Quietly walked away. He hasn't been talking much to anyone since then."
"He wouldn't even say much in class." Shinsou's head falls to his lap, "What do you think could have happened?"
Yamada turns to the side, "I know them enough to say this, I'm sure either one confessed or proposed and the other said no."
"But Aizawa sensei– (L/n)-sensei was crying, you say?"
"Yeah." the man sighs, "Two of my best friends getting off with each other. What am I supposed to do?" the both of them share looks for a moment.
Shinsou nods, catching the signal Yamada has been trying to give him all this while, "You're right, what are you supposed to do?"
It takes a couple of days to set everything up but he manages to "coincidentally" make Aizawa and you end up together for dinner with Yamada.
Neither of the two of you are happy with this, it doesn't take a genius to figure that out.
"Sit, you both." Yamada knows you both are hiding whatever happened from him so wouldn't refuse now that you both are already only so he wouldn't know.
"So you planned dinner?" your voice lacks any emotion at all, it is hollow and low, and is addressed only to Yamada as if sarcastically commenting on his decision.
"I did." he smiles, "Hope the both of you don't mind. I realised we need to have a talk over something."
Neither you nor Aizawa look up. Over a week of avoiding him does nothing at all to ease the pain, and you don't wish to increase the weight in your chest by catching sight of his unaffected expressions.
Yamada doesn't speak up for some time, he allows the tension in the air settle to the ground until there is more of pain, guilt and longing at the table than suffocation.
"We met first in the sports festival of the first year." he begins once the waitress has left. He's hesitant to bring this up but there's no other way, "Shirakumo-kun was against (Name)-chan. She lost but was introduced into class A and shifted from class B."
"Yeah.. w-we know the story.. " you look to the side, eyes glassy and fingers fiddling with each other.
Clearly, you're not in the mood to get nostalgic.
"It was funny to see you fall for Shouta-kun while Shirakumo-kun flirted with you all day long." Yamada lets out a chuckle as Aizawa's head snaps up at you.
You, on the other hand, widen your eyes at him in shock– you'd never expected him to bring this topic up. It feels like betrayal.
Yamada inhales, then exhales deep, "Shirakumo-kun had a crush on you, you know."
"What?"
"Yeah.. " he gives you a small smile, "He did, but he noticed your feelings for Shouta-kun and then his behaviour changed. You remember when– "
___________ May, Second year at U.A. High ___________
"Hey Shouta," Shirakumo says, "It's just ice cream. Stop licking it as if it's Yamada's popsickle."
You begin giggling, drawing attention to yourself. Aizawa feels his lips twitch into a small smile, he loves it when you laugh though this isn't something he wishes you find amusing.
He composes himself immediately and turns to Shirakumo with a frown, "Don't open your dirty mouth like that in front of a girl at least. Have some shame, Shiro." but he is ignored.
"(Name)! (Name)!" Shirakumo is busy coming up with more nonsense, "Okay, I got an idea." the rest of you turn to him, while still licking all your ice creams.
"How about you give us some advice?"
"What sort of advice?" you ask and he smirks.
"We're all poor little dreaming boys who all definitely have some or the other crush on some or the other cute friends of ours, don't we, Shouta-kun?" the boy in questions freezes, "Why don't you rate us.. or give us an overview from a girls' angle? If we're in luck, it might help some oblivious idiot see through".
"That's random." you hum, "But," there is a pause, "I'll say.. Hizashi-kun is bright, awlways optimistic and loud one. You're gonna be probably.. well, charismatic, energetic and you know what, there's some girls in our class who call you husband material."
"They do?" Shirakumo is pleased, "Did you hear that, guys?"
"Go on, bitch some more about your friends, (Name)-chan." Aizawa rolls his eyes at Shirakumo's smug expression, "You're snitching on them."
"Sometimes you should take that stick up your ass out and try some fingers." you close your eyes and give Aizawa a firm nod. Shirakumo and Yamada burst out laughing.
"What about Shouta-kun, though?" Shirakumo elbows the boy and turns back to you when his laughs dies down to chuckles.
You hum, "To me, he's like.. the definition of manliness. If testosterone is something, it's him. You know what, it's not my choice at all– Shouta-kun in general looks like a sexy tsundere guy who the girl would call daddy or something, you get what I mean?"
"Boy boy, someone's all red." Shirakumo laughs at Aizawa who just grunts and looks away. You don't have the confidence to look towards his face after all you've said either.
"He'll get lots of options for wives.. only if he didn't doze of mid-wedding." you crack the OG joke and everyone other that Aizawa snorts.
"Ay, don't be too rough with him (Name)-chan." Shirakumo exaggerates scolding you, "Our sweet sugar daddy is blushing. He might just burst if you keep this up."
Aizawa turns to him instantly and mutters a "what the fuck?" under his breath.
But Shirakumo isn't the only cheeky bitch in the group.
"Come on, sweet daddy.. " you exaggerate a coo, "Don't get mad. I'm scared you'll be too rough." and as you do, you realise Shirakumo isn't lying when he says Aizawa might burst.
His ears are steaming, cheeks blood red already. You doubt he'd be able to take another tease.
"Little kitten's blushing." Shirakumo laughs, "If I were gay, I'd be totally into him. It's too sad I'm not a single girl among us four who can crush on him."
Shirakumo gets a glare from you, you're thankful Aizawa hasn't heard him well.
___________ - ___________
"Why would you suddenly bring that up today?" Aizawa understand your behaviour from back then now only now that he has been confessed to, "Things of the past should stay in the past."
"Misunderstandings of the past should stay in the past too." Yamada looks up, "Shirakumo realised (Name)-chan's interest in you too early on. He liked it, actually. He always thought you were perfect for her and the other way around."
Aizawa's expressions drop to zero at the revelation.
"Actually.. " Yamada clears his throat, "He'd always known you push your feelings for (Name)-chan down because of his crush on her."
Your head snaps up at what you've heard.
..Shouta-kun had feelings for me back then.. ?
"He'd been trying to set the both of you up for over an year already before he.. died." silence spreads at the table, "You don't need to reject your feelings for (Name)-chan anymore, Shouta-kun."
Aizawa stares hard at the table, you look between him and Yamada. Nothing seems to set properly in your brain, you don't know what's going on.
"You don't need to reject her in loyalty to our dead friend. He didn't die loving her, he died hoping the both of you would give each other a chance.. "
Aizawa doesn't know what to say, his lips part to speak but no voice leaves.
"She's not his, dude. Don't label her like that.. just.. free yourself from this burden. Shirakumo-kun didn't die loving her."
Silence prevails at the table for far too long. Yamada looks uncomfortable with this silence. He keeps on looking between your and Aizawa's fallen faces.
"Why didn't you ever tell me?" Aizawa's voice is so low it barely feels the words have left his mouth.
Yamada sighs, "I thought you knew.. " he waits for a little more time before getting up with an "enjoy dinner, you two. Talk it out." and leaves.
Neither you not Aizawa says anything for even longer– you're losing your patience now. Tears build up in your eyes.
You do understand that he needs time to digest the revelation as much as you do but the past week of heartache has barely left anything for you to stay silent with.
The only desire you have is to know how he feels about you now. That, but you don't know how you'll ever talk to him again after all he has said.
Aizawa looks up a moment later, his eyes unusually and surprisingly glassy, "I'm sorry.. " he begins, " ..for everything."
And though you did not think this could ease any of your pain, you find yourself crying into your hands a moment later. This time, he's there to calm you.

Haikyuu Characters' Informal & Formal Speech
Something I find interesting about different languages and cultures regarding sociolinguistics is the entire idea of formality. Of course, there are ways to sound more formal/polite in English and ways to sound more informal/rude depending on word choice (synonyms). But with a language such as Japanese, it's the grammatical structure itself (verb endings, vocab) that changes to convey varying levels of formality.
An example would be:
大丈夫? (informal) vs 大丈夫ですか?(formal) = Are you ok?
daijoubu vs daijoubudesuka
これは本だ (informal) vs これは本です (formal) = This is a book.
korewahonda vs korewahondesu
In a school setting, the younger grades (kohai) will use formal speech with the older grades (senpai) as well as teachers: meaning 1st years will be formal to 2nd and 3rd years, 2nd years will be informal to 1st years but formal to 3rd years, and 3rd years can be informal to both 1st and 2nd years.
This is easily shown in basically any anime but this post will focus on Haikyuu since it's the one I'm most familiar with.
Karasuno: Kageyama and Tsukishima definitely hold a very high level of politeness towards their senpai as they always speak formally towards them and also always call them "full surname-san" (Azumane-san instead of Asahi-san, Sugawara-san instead of Suga-san, Sawamura-san instead of Daichi-san, Nishinoya-san instead of Noya-san). It makes sense for them since in general their personalities are quite strict and rigid. Hinata also speaks formally to his senpai but calls them by their more usual names (Daichi-san, Suga-san, etc) and he tends to forget to speak formally out of sheer excitement (not because he's trying to be rude) so he ends up adding on the formal desu copula to quickly change his informal sentence to be formal at the last second. You might think that Tanaka and Nishinoya are pretty relaxed when it comes to formalities due to their crasser personalities but I would actually say it's more the opposite. They're both characters that really like upholding the entire senpai-kohai relationship and it shows in that they are always respectful to the 3rd years and use formal speech (it's also shown in how they both loveee being called senpai and specifically Nishinoya's relationship with Asahi). They still call the 3rd years by their more common names so they aren't as rigid as Tsukki and Kageyama when it comes to names though. The scenes in season 1 when Noya and Asahi were fighting (specifically the storage room fight) were surprising in particular due to Noya changing to informal speech while arguing with Asahi (his senpai).
some other random formalities I've noticed in the other characters: as mentioned in the anime, Kenma doesn't like any of that hierarchy stuff which is why Hinata is able to continue comfortably speaking informally to him even though Kenma is a senpai. The shock and immediate apology of Hinata when he finds out Kenma is older than him is sensible in the cultural context since there are many people who would get quite offended and angry if a kohai were to be speaking informally towards them. Although Kenma is never shown directly talking to any 3rd years (other than Kuroo, which he speaks informally to since they're childhood friends), I assume he would still speak formally since even though he doesn't find formal speech necessary he would still be aware that others would care about it. When it comes to Mad Dog, a small part of me expected him to be completely informal to everyone since those kind of characters are usually like that in anime but he still keeps a pretty formal tone when talking to his senpais which pleasantly surprised me. As far as I remember watching season 4, I don't think the Miya twins use formal speech when talking to Aran. They don't call him Aran-san or anything either, just Aran-kun, which could be another example of childhood friends not needing formalities even with the age gap.
EDIT: i just remembered that Kageyama is so damn polite that he doesn't even differentiate between the Miya twins by their first names, he calls them both "Miya-san"!
If anybody wants a particular character/school to be discussed in detail then just send me an ask and I'll try!

Holy fuck, what a ride.
Spoilers for Wind Breaker Chapter 156 ahead.
Gosh. Where do I even begin?
First off, the "Umemiya is a selfish bastard" thing from Endo earlier on is rattling around my brain as even more ridiculous after the intro to this chapter (it was already absurd the first time he said it). Umemiya, for some reason, is taking responsibility...for not winning against Takiishi pre-Bofurin which led to their current situation?? Ume, hun, what. It's literally not your fault Takiishi is obsessed with you ong. He just wanted that soft cottagecore lifestyle for his hometown and love ones! No wonder the weight Umemiya carries on his shoulders gets unbelievable heavier if this is what and how he thinks.
Even after all the destruction and chaos brought to his beloved home and to the people he loves and who love him back, he still wants to get to know Takiishi. Umemiya, your ideologies and beliefs, let me pick your brain king.
The way Umemiya monologues about Takiishi is soft yet firm. Kind of like a scolding? Or a lecture. It's softer than what would be a common reaction to someone who's hurt their people and home. While Takiishi is still a mystery, Ume definitely knows that his fights against Takiishi mean a lot for him and especially this one. A "I'm humoring your wants rn but I'm doing this my way" if you will.
Special shoutout to table-kun who has joined chair-kun at the grounds of Furin! Thank you for your services. 🫡 (Still lowkey wondering how the others are doing and how they're reacting to the small glimpses they see of the fight from below)
These senpai want to be cool and reliable in front of their kohai. UmeHira, my beloveds.
ALSO THE RAIN! I don't know why but I got so excited when it started raining. The chapter title for today is "Overheat", so the rain could be symbolic of the overall fight coming to an end. A sign to cool down if you will. Come to think of it, what time do you think this chapter is currently at right now? Since it just started at midnight (and Takiishi's bday ig). It would be so fucking cool if by the end of this arc, there'll be a page with the first rays of morning light shining across Makochi and onto the rooftop. Oh, it would be so pretty and fitting narratively (& symbolically). Like the light has triumped over the shadows. I ALREADY HAVE AN IMAGE IN MY BRAIN FOR IT SKSK (this is setting me up for failure if there isn't a scene like this in the next chapters).
And I'm sobbing because the acknowledgement? The praise and confidence in Sakura's will? The foretelling? THE NEXT LEADER OF BOFURIN Y'ALL *wails and ugly sobs*
THE FLINCH. THE SHUDDER. TAKIISHI IS FEELING IT RN. I MEAN I WOULD TOO IF THAT GAZE WAS ON ME.
"Hey Takiishi, let's have along talk, yeah?"
Fucking 👏 phenomenal 👏 delivery 👏👏 (and page art, nii-sensei never misses)
I think this is it guys, I think Ume finally won against Takiishi.
–
As always, Nii-sensei did such a wonderful job playing with my emotions this chapter and the lines hit so fucking well thanks to the translations of Jacqueline Fung (praise be to these two and the rest of the staff behind the official English release). Support the official release and all that over on KManga Kodansha (who should open the site up internationally, please). And thank you for reading my yapping 'til the end!

For me, there is a lot of significance on why Hinata addresses Neji as “older brother”. Figuring that out, completely demolishes any attempt to argue that Hinata is comfortable with the slave system in the Hyugas.
And it isn’t just to get “closer to him” or because she’s just so “kind and warm”. Well, she is kind and warm and gentle and loves her brother and her sister. But that honorific alone crosses the bounds of it.
In every culture the elders hold importance and respect, but this especially goes in East Asian culture, particularly rooted in Confucianism. In Japan, it is also known as senpai-kohai (senior-junior). As its name suggests, it describes hierarchical structures, the younger must respect the elder and the elder must guide the younger. This works mainly in institutions and social groups (-san, -sama, -chan, -kun etc) , but this moral code more or less, has naturally reflected into homes and families as well. But even without mentioning senpai-kohai, we’re all pretty much informed about how in Japan, there are honorifics used for elders, how “you should listen to your elders.” Again, this isn’t just exclusive to Japan or Asia, so not only we are knowledgeable in it, we also relate to it to some degree.
We know hierarchy is an already established tradition within the Hyugas. Hiashi became the head just because he was minutes older than Hizashi, not to mention the main and the branch family themselves is based on, maybe a little more complicated than age differences, but still is based on one.
What this all means, is that Hinata isn’t just referring Neji as an actual family member rather than a servant. Hinata is giving him a degree of authority over her to him. She, a member of the main family, is putting him,a member of the branch family, above her in some way, hence the honorific she uses. Hinata, my insane girl, does not give a shit 👆😍🫶
We don’t have any other proof whether younger main members refer to older branch members with honorifics. Another testimony is Hanabi who also refers Neji as older brother, however it’s not a strong antithesis as firstly, this was done in a filler episode (390, Naruto shippuden) Secondly, even if the filler episode holds validity, Hanabi is then again, Hinatas younger sister which has most likely influenced her to address Neji the same way. Additionally, main branch members lead the lower with fear (the caged bird curse), in heavy contrast with Hinatas anti confrontational nature. I doubt there’s anyone else who does the same thing as Hinata and possibly Hanabi.
I don’t think this is a bare minimum in any way, I think for a girl who has never had a choice , is a hell of a way to express disapproval with what is happening and it’s really a shame Kishimoto just dumped it aside or off screened the development of Neji, Hinata, Hanabi and the Hyugas in general.
PS: My view and my interpretation of senpai kohai isn’t entirely correct but rather on what I’ve read and observed. This is based over my opinion and I would love to hear yours!!!

I have a bit to say about Nana's name. (and use of honorifics cause wtf)
NOTE; I'm not Japanese so if I get shit wrong sorry
So let's talk about Nana's "nickname". The nickname itself isn't actually bad, IF it was originally a nickname, and if it was used so infantilizingly.
The thing that makes Nana's name so bad is that it's used with the infantilization of Japanese girls and the stereotyping of them. as well the terrible use of Japanese honorifics.
In Japan it's very common for young girls to have nicknames like "Kawaii-chan", and it's also common for young girls to call ANYTHING AND EVERYTHING "kawaii desu 可愛いです"
They will be watching Ringu, and you bet your ass throughout the entire movie it'll just be "可愛いです!!" "可愛いです!!" which is something I find so funny ngl.
So if Nana was originally introduced as Nana but with the nickname "kawaii-chan" it would've been mostly fine.
The thing that also makes it weird is that it wasn't dropped after high school. She's a grown woman now, her friends should not be calling her kawaii-chan.
I mean like online and for her maid cafe the kawaii-chan could stay because that's a persona she's putting on.
Also the improper use of honorifics is horrifying. I'm actually sobbing.
In high school she could get away with it as we know she moved to america recently so it would make some sense she still sometimes uses it.
Now I've seen some people say that she could still use it as an adult because she finds it cute but idk..
Especially because her honorifics with the other characters is so bad. The most you'd get outside of high school is just a bunch of "chan" and "kun"s. which would be boring ngl.
First "Aphmau-senpai" .....isn't Nana older????? So kōhai 輩 would be best. In Japan, schools, work, organized functions, etc. Are where kohai and senpai are used. Now when people graduate or retire, sometimes these honorifics are still used.
EDIT; NVM THEY'RE THE SAME FUCKING AGE
The only way "Aphmau-senpai" could be used is if Aphmau was Nana's senior in something. BUT SHE ISN'T??? I DON'T THINK SO???
"Katelyn-sama" I'm going to shoot someone, sama or san are only used in formal relationships. Sama is EXTREMELY formal and only used for elders and bosses. Not your flat mate. (I'm not from the UK)
So the only honorifics that would be used within Mystreet would be "chan" and "kun"s. Because of Nana's relationship with most of the cast.
Point is, Kawaii-chan is an okay NICKname for her to have and for you to call her. The thing that makes it weird is how KC's character is treated in Mystreet.
In MCD the honorifics make no sense and the only time Kawaii-chan could be used in canon is for her persona in the maid cafe. That's it.
I've seen a lot of people say that the name "Nana" is cruel because they're naming her a number. stfu.
Naming your kid Nana or a number is very common in Japan. Hell there's a whole manga series about to girl's both being named Nana.
idk I just find that people who think the Kawaaii-chan thing is the main problem when it isn't annoying. Her name originally being that was a problem but what we should really look at is the fetishization and stereotyping of Japanese girls.
On that note, Jess has very much improved Nana's character in recent years and I think that's a good thing. We as a community need to start focusing on the positives of the Aphverse™.

Nanami, it’s time [JJK fanfic]
Chapter Title: Time to go Word Count: 1,960 Synopsis: We all know that moment when Kento Nanami gets torched by Jogo, and you know what comes next… well I know we all want to turn back time and undo that moment. This is a retelling of that part in the story, with something different added to it. Nanami has a wife (you!) who is also a Jujutsu Sorcerer with a unique power, and they both want out of the Jujutsu Society forever. Pairing: Kento Nanami x Reader Content Warning: none YET, but in the succeeding chapters, there WILL be smut, I’m warning you all because I’m writing this while I’m ovulating lol horny JJK fans unite Notes: I had help from ChatGPT to generate a unique JJK-verse Cursed Technique without it being too OP or copying from an existing character, so thank you chatgpt lol, see the end part for a detailed explanation of the technique
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
NANAMI’S POV
A minute ago, I, Naobito Zenin, Megumi Fushiguro, and Maki Zenin were all standing on a beach, the domain of the Cursed Spirit Dagon, watching the new arrival of a strong, frenzied man who had zero Cursed Energy, who was beating the daylights out of the domain owner.
The next thing I knew, we were back in the station at Shibuya, staring at the lifeless body of the octopus creature whose domain obviously crumbled upon his death at the hand of the man in the sweatshirt.
The same man who is now walking towards us with a glint of madness in his eye.
“Is he on our side...?” I thought, mentally preparing myself to battle this man in case he wasn’t.
Suddenly, two things simultaneously happened.
The man wearing a sweatshirt suddenly dragged Fushiguro-kun and flung him out the window, and another Cursed Spirit with an insane amount of Cursed Energy appeared without warning next to the corpse of Dagon.
He looked odd, almost comical, with the shape of his head looking like a volcano, complete with the top billowing off small amounts of steam. But we all knew he was dangerous.
“Dagon, I’ll take it from here. Leave the rest to me, we’ll meet again in the wastelands, one hundred years from now. Now then…” the Cursed Spirit said, turning to face all of us.
In a split second, he was by my side, touching my abdomen and glaring at me.
I barely had time to register what was happening when suddenly, I felt the familiar presence of a Cursed Energy, one whose presence I had not wanted to be in this place at all, not especially in this moment.
Time seemed to slow down as I saw my wife running towards me, worry evident in her light brown eyes.
“Y/N, my love, why are you here? Weren’t you supposed to be in Osaka? It’s dangerous here!” is what I willed my mouth to speak, but the words aren’t coming out.
Everything seemed to happen in slow motion. My mind can’t process it that quickly, but somewhere, somehow, I knew this was the power of her Cursed Technique, Chrono-Warping.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
READER’S POV
I read and reread Principal Yaga’s text message to me, sent about an hour ago.
Y/N, you should come to Shibuya as soon as you can. It seems we will need all hands on deck to handle the Special Grade curses wreaking havoc. You may join your husband in the rescue mission to retrieve Gojo, who was sealed in Prison Realm. Resume your current mission once this crisis is averted.
I willed the bullet train to go even faster, bouncing my knee up and down in a nervous tic as I run a hand through my hair.
“Knowing Kento, he’ll probably do his best to protect the students and his kohai, Ino. He might even get hurt from that chivalrous attitude of his.” I muttered under my breath.
Which is one of the things I love and hate about Kento Nanami.
It’s not that I don’t trust his abilities to get him through the battle at Shibuya. It’s that I know how overprotective he is of the younger Jujutsu Sorcerers (and of me), he’ll always go above and beyond to protect them at the risk of his own life.
The next stop, Shibuya.
“Fucking finally. I’m gonna age from waiting in this damn train.” I said, apparently rather loudly, since the couple seated in front of me turned to look at me with their eyebrows raised.
“Eh, who cares what they think. I’m used to the stares and the discrimination.” I thought.
I was a foreigner, half Japanese, half (your nationality), in fact. Despite my living here for almost three decades and speaking Japanese with a perfect accent, my features will never be Japanese enough for me to be treated the same as the “locals”.
It was one of the things that brought me closer to my husband, in fact. Standing 6 feet tall and with obvious Western features, he certainly stood out in the crowd. The locals here do not like individuals who stand out, so we both experienced discrimination of sorts, even within the Jujutsu society.
While I wait for the train to arrive at the station, I let my mind wander at a conversation Kento and I had before we were married.
“How does it not bother you, Kento. That old man was just downright rude to you!”
“I remind myself that they do not personally know me and that anything they say or do to me is based on a prejudice they have preconceived in their minds. Since they do not know the real me, nor do they have any special meaning to me, I do not let their words and actions affect me. It’s a waste of time.”
That man is wise beyond his years. His words back then struck a chord in me, as someone who’s always let other people dictate my mood and let their words affect me. I’ve always been like a sponge that just absorbs all the positive and negative things around me. Kento has taught me so much, both as a jujutsu sorcerer and as a person.
Due to an unexpected issue at our next station, the train will now be stopping. All passengers are requested to leave the wagon with their personal belongings and follow the station superintendent, who will guide you to the nearest emergency exit. I repeat… due to…
This is bad, bad enough that the Shibuya station is closed.
Once the train doors were opened, I jumped out and ran as fast as I could, ignoring the gasps of the people as they saw me jump down and run onto the train tracks.
“Please be safe, please be safe, oh gods please be safe.” I said as I ran, clinging onto these words like a lifeline.
I sensed so many powerful Cursed Spirits and Cursed Energy in the station ahead. Willing myself to concentrate on the one Cursed Energy that I’m very much familiar with, I stopped running and closed my eyes.
There he is! A few hundred meters below me.
I hurried towards the emergency escape ladder and onto the B2 level of the train station platform. Then I saw them. The Cursed Spirit standing over the body of another Cursed Spirit, my husband, Naobito-san, and two Jujutsu High students.
“Chrono-Warping Technique: Temporal Manipulation!”
Time slowed for everyone else, except for me. I only have a few minutes until my body gets taxed from using this technique, or until I accidentally create a time loop, so I have to make good use of it.
The volcano head Cursed Spirit moved too fast; in fact, it was already in front of my husband by the time I got there. I’m not a Cursed Tool user, so I don’t have any weapons, but I think my hands are enough.
I grabbed the volcano head spirit and flung him together with that man who was holding onto one of the students by the collar.
Quickly switching their positions, I half carry, half dragged back the kid to the position where the Cursed Spirit was, and snapped my fingers to let the regular flow of time back.

NANAMI’S POV
Blinking, I stared down at Megumi Fushiguro in confusion, who was looking just as confused as I was.
“Nanami-san…?” Megumi asked dazedly.
“Kento!”
Her voice is like breathing in fresh air after staying in the sewers for a long time, or like seeing the ocean stretch endlessly over the horizon at dawn after a long year without vacation.
She was a force of nature, this woman. My radiant sanctuary that keeps me anchored, a beacon of love and resilience in this unforgiving world of curses, her presence a soothing balm to my battle-weary soul.
“My love, what are you doing here? Weren’t you – ” I trailed off, unable to finish my sentence as I rest my cheek on her head, breathing in her scent and wrapping my arms around her body.
“Principal Yaga briefed me on what was going on here. He said all hands on deck were needed. Of course I had to come here, love.” she murmured. Her hands were patting my back gently, but then she broke off the hug to look at me sternly.
“Look at you, your favorite shirt was ripped. These cuts, I can’t…” She reached for her pocket and brought out a small handkerchief, wiping the cut on my forehead as her brow wrinkled into a frown.
“It’s nothing, look, love, we all aren’t safe here yet.” I said, trying to appease her worry by making light of my current physical state.
A loud AHEM startles us both.
“Yes, ahem, well, if you both are quite finished being lovey-dovey, I should very much like to leave this station and get my arm treated by Dr. Shoko.” Naobito said gruffly.
We turned to look at the others, who were all averting their gazes from us, looking shy and embarrassed to witness our moment.
I cleared my throat as well, feeling the heat rush to my cheeks as my wife gently tended to my injuries, ignoring everyone else stoically.
“We won’t do much good to anyone, much less rescue Gojo and all the non-sorcerers here in Shibuya, if we’re injured. Let’s go find Ieri-san and get treatment for our wounds.” I said in a deadpan tone.
I could feel a different energy radiate from my wife, and I felt a sweat drop from my brow.
“Is she mad that I got this much injured? Is she scared? What is it?”
No matter how many years we’ve been married, I’m not sure I’ll ever fully understand how my wife’s mind works.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Chrono-Warping
A rare and balanced ability known as "Chrono-Warping" surfaces. This power enables its possessor to manipulate the flow of time in localized pockets, introducing a unique set of advantages and challenges.
Key Features:
Temporal Manipulation: The user can temporarily accelerate or decelerate time within a specific area. This can be employed defensively to evade attacks, strategically to gain an advantage in combat, or to provide brief moments of respite amid chaotic battles.
Time Echo: The ability to create echoes of the immediate past or future within the user's perception. These echoes offer glimpses of upcoming events or recent occurrences, granting the user enhanced foresight and the ability to react more effectively.
Temporal Distortion Fields: By creating localized distortion fields, the user can disrupt the normal flow of time for themselves or others. This may result in altered perceptions, making it challenging for opponents to predict the user's movements or react appropriately.
Chrono-Infusion: The user can infuse their cursed techniques or physical strikes with controlled bursts of temporal energy. This adds an element of unpredictability and surprise to their attacks, as opponents struggle to anticipate the timing and impact of each strike.
Limitations:
Temporal Strain: Manipulating time is mentally and physically taxing. Prolonged or frequent use of Chrono-Warping can lead to fatigue, disorientation, or even unintended consequences such as momentary time loops.
Temporal Anchoring: The user cannot manipulate time on a large scale, and the effects are limited to specific areas or targets. Attempting to alter significant events or manipulate time across vast distances is beyond the scope of this power.
Vulnerability During Temporal Manipulation: While manipulating time, the user is vulnerable to attacks. Distorting the temporal field requires focus, and disruptions can leave the user momentarily defenseless.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hope you like this first chapter! Not much fun but I personally had fun retelling this part of the Shibuya Incident. Stay tuned for more!

A Toji x reader mini fic
Both are adults with an age gap.
(Art by nendesignx on Instagram)
You: Uh... Excuse me, Mister. I think we need to talk.
Toji: Now isn't the time, lady! I'm here on some business.
You: Actually, it's kind of important. Do you remember beating up two boys on the street yesterday, while I was talking to them?
Toji: Talking? Those two were groping you and harassing you! You don't talk to creeps, sweetie, you BEAT the sh*t outta them.
You (angrily): Sweetie? Really? I'm a Jujutsu sorcerer, Tough guy, I had it under control.
Toji: *snickers* A jujutsu sorcerer, you say? Well, that explains the attitude. You're welcome, by the way.
You: So you expect gratitude for saving someone who didn't even asked to be saved in the first place!
Toji: *shrugs* You didn't have to ask. I was gonna do it anyway.
You: Why? You don't look like a guy who goes around randomly saving people.
Toji: No, I'm not really the hero type. But I know you, Miss y/n, you used to go to the same school as my son...
You: *gasp* You have a son?!
Toji: *chuckles* Megumi, my son, is studying in Tokyo Jujutsu Academy.
You: You're Gumi-kun's dad? Oh...He... He was my kohai, I was in his senior class.
Toji: *nods* I'm Toji.
You: S...sorry, I didn't mean to be rude, Toji sama! Thank you for standing up for me.
Toji: *grimaces* Err...forget it. Those pesky rats won't dare touch you again. Now, if you don't mind, I'm kinda starving, and I gotta go.
You: I know a place that makes the best garlic noodles!
Toji: *raises eyebrows* Do I look like a man who visits fancy places, hun?
You: Let me thank you properly and buy you lunch, at least!
Toji: *scratches chin* Ah, well, if you insist...I can't say no to pretty ladies.
You (smirking): Did you just flirt with me? I'm afraid you're not very subtle, Toji sama.
Toji: *scoffs* Definitely less subtle than you checking out my abs, sweet pea.
*leans closer* see something you like, miss?
You: WHAT THE HELL! Who's the creep now, old man?!
Toji: Fool yourself as you want. You're the one who followed me and found me on a busy street, fight with me for defending your delicate...uh, modesty, and look at me like I'm a three course gourmet meal! So you decide who's the creepy stalker here. Good day, and good luck finding me again.
You: *exhale sharply* You're so rude, mean, arrogant, full of wormsh*t...
Toji: Then why are you grabbing my shirt?
You: Toji sama, we're not done yet. I'll prove to you I'm not the least bit affected by you. For starters, we'll go to a restaurant, have lunch sitting side by side, and I'll not even take a single look at you.
Toji: Hmmm... Sounds like a challenge. Interesting!
You: *huff* Are you in or out?
Toji: I like challenges, specially when lovely ladies are involved.
You: Careful, I'll win easy, grandpa!
Toji: Maybe we can level up the challenge by going to a movie later.
We'll see.

“Have you ever noticed that Bokuto hugs Akaashi differently?”
Konoha blinks, glancing at his teammate with interest. Komi’s arms are folded in front, with one hand reaching up to tap a finger on his chin. Konoha follows his gaze to where his captain and Akaashi are practicing.
“Huh?”
“He hugs Akaashi differently than the rest of us,” Komi says absently. “Haven’t you noticed?”
Konoha narrows his eyes. The setter had obviously just broken free from the other boy’s clutches moments ago, turning to hide his pink-tinged cheeks from view.
“Ugh,” Konha grits out, taking a large swig of his water bottle before letting out an exasperated sigh. Because of course he’s noticed. It’s just–he’s trying NOT too. He’s had to deal with the two boys’ odd dynamic for almost two years. He’s tired.
“I mean, he practically strangles anyone else he hugs,” Komi continues. “But with Akaashi-kun he’s almost… gentle? It’s still a tight bear hug, it’s just a bit.. softer?” He shrugs. “I dunno, maybe it’s just my imagination.”
Konoha shakes his head. “It’s not. I mean, everything about their relationship is kind of weird.”
Komi chuckles. “You’re not wrong.”
For a while they just watch their teammates in silence. The two practice as normal–bumping, setting and spiking over and over again with stamina that mystifies Konoha to no end. It used to just be Bokuto who had limitless energy. Now, it seems to have rubbed off on their kohai.
“They’re crazy,” he mutters, and Komi snorts in agreement.
Eventually though, Akaashi does meet his limit. Even Bokuto’s puppy dog eyes don’t sway him to continue. “Bokuto-san, final exams start next week. You need to go home and rest so you can start studying hard tomorrow.”
Bokuto pouts. “But I want to keep going!”
“No buts. You need to pass math if you don’t want to repeat remedial courses at university, Bokuto-san.”
“So mean, ‘kaashi!”
“Being strict isn’t the same as being mean.”
“Hmm, I dunno about that!”
Konoha rolls his eyes, and he sees Komi facepalm in his periphery.
“You’ll help me study, won’t you Akaashi?” His voice is hopeful, maybe even a bit nervous. Konoha can’t help but turn to watch them again. (Ugh, it’s like he can’t look away.)
“I don’t think I’d be much help,” Akaashi admits. “Math is not my strong suit, either. You know that.”
“I do know. But just having another person there to motivate me is enough!” Bokuto grins and leans in close. “Especially if it’s you! You’re the best, ‘kaashi…”
Konoha’s eyes widen; has Bokuto always been this smooth? Next to him, Komi lets out a surprised noise of his own. They both try not to laugh as Akaashi’s stoic expression immediately melts into one of unadulterated fondness.
“Oh,” Akaashi visibly swallows, fingers weaving nervously. “Then sure, Bokuto-san. I will help you.”
Bokuto lets out a triumphant yelp, and in one very quick movement, bounds forward to pull his setter into yet another hug.
Thanks to Komi (for better or worse), Konoha is now paying even more attention. He notices the tenderness in how Bokuto embraces the other boy. The way his arms, often a bit too powerful for his own good, wrap around him delicately. And how he dips his head down slightly to nose at Akaashi’s curls.
Akaashi’s face is hidden from view. But judging by how red his ears are, and the way his hands twitch at his sides, it almost seems like he… well…
Konoha suddenly feels like he’s intruding. He slaps Komi’s wrist and turns on his heel. “Let’s go,” he mutters. “Leave them to clean up the court. They’re the ones who actually practiced late, anyway.”
“But you saw that, right?” Komi hisses as they exit the gym. “There’s just… something there!”
“Well duh.” Konoha scoffs. “Two hugs in like, what, 10 minutes? It’s like Bokuto is just trying to find an excuse to do it whenever he can.”
Komi laughs. “Seriously!”
As they trek around the building towards the entrance of the school, Konoha can’t help but notice that the gym has gone strangely quiet. Like his hugs, Bokuto’s voice is usually overwhelming, booming and loud and unrestrained.
But now Konoha hears… nothing.
He wonders, vaguely, if his two teammates are still hugging. If Bokuto is holding on longer this time, and Akaashi is just… letting him. If they are perhaps doing MORE than hugging…
“Ugh,” Konoha grumbles again. He hates that he’s so invested in these idiots. They are absolutely ridiculous. Exhausting. Maddening.
Still, he can’t help but send a silent blessing back to his friends.
Okay guys, figure yourselves out, he thinks, smiling in spite of himself.
We’ll be there for you all the way…
//
Konoha is right–by the time he gets home that night, BokuAka is making out heavily on the club room floor 😆
Thanks for reading! Please comment and share if you enjoyed! I also have a kofi (linked on profile) if you’d like to support me that way. 🙏❤️ Cheers!

[TL] PYSCHOBREAK/Chapter 3
[ This post uses Ois~su ♪ ]
Rei: Umu. I did some research regarding it, and I found that no one in RhythmLink requested that we take part in the experiment.
Koga: Huh? W-whaddya mean!?
Rei: I asked and it seems that it was a machine we spoke with. No real person knows about the experiment— that is the story they are sticking with.
It is unusual for myself to put on a serious face, but this time I feigned total ignorance…
It was rather bold of me, to tell a lie.
Kaoru: Yup. The higher ups thought we were behaving recklessly and were all up in arms about it.
Adonis: Umu. We were flooded with messages asking what HELLSING was.
Koga: I-I’m startin’ to feel kinda scared…
Guess I’m speakin’ with hindsight but we was probably too hasty ‘bout gettin’ involved with a questionable experiment.
Rei: So it seems… We realised we were losing popularity and tried to regain as much control as we could as quickly as we could.
And it all snowballed from there. In reality, I am as much of a fool as I thought I was— I must reflect on this.
Kaoru: You can reflect later, but first we need to focus on the problem at hand.
Rei 2: Eh? Where’s the problem?
Ain’t this turnin’ into a good thing for you guys?
Kaoru: Okay? Fake Rei-kun, can you shut it? We’re having an important conversation right now, alright?
Rei 2: Haha, someone’s in a bad mood~! If your lack of sleep is gettin’ to ya, why dontcha sleep with me, Kaoru-cha~n ♪
Kaoru: Wa, nononono….You’re just being creepy and gross now. Adonis-kun, you deal with him.
Adonis: I’d rather not either. Please don’t pass him to me.
…Despite his appearance, the fake Sakuma-senpai is nothing like him.
As things are now, fake me probably has a different personality too.
Adonis 2: ...
Rei 2: Our recall ain’t perfect yet, ‘n we still got a long way t’go. But hey, we’re still collectin’ data from you as we speak—
Sooner or later, we’re gonna be so similar to you that even your parents won’t be able t’tell the difference.
Adonis: Is that your purpose?
Rei 2: You oughta be usin’ keigo, kohai. Even though we’re brand new, you still gotta pay respect to us.
Rei: I actually feel rather lonely when someone speaks to me in keigo. It's distant.
Rei 2: You’ve gotten soft, real me.
Well whatever. Becomin’ ‘real’ is instinct, but not our purpose.
We don’t have a sense of purpose.
Like I said earlier, we’re machines, wooden dolls, puppets. We ain’t got a heart, jus’ programmin’.
To feel, to think, to desire—
And dreamin’ too, is an annoyin’ flaw unique to you humans.
Rei: I believe that is what makes humans so fantastic.
We should move on. Questioning these fakes is not worth our time. Let us leave these machines behind and begin exploring the inside of the facilities.
Though it seems they have already disposed of any evidence, perhaps we can locate some documents here and there. Then we can discover why this has taken place.
And before you ask, I have already reported what we know so far to ES and the RhythmLink higher ups, and have been given permission to search the facilities.
Adonis: As always, Sakuma-senpai is fast at covering all his bases.
Rei: That’s one of my strong points. Of course, we are far from experts, and I don’t expect to find much–
But what else can we do in this moment?
Rei 2: Whilst you’re doin’ that, we’ll carry on with idol activities in your place.
Koga: Haa? Get over yourselves, you ain’t real.
The fans are confused ‘cos of you. They don’t wanna see fakes that only look like us from the outside, you bastards.
Rei 2: Confused? But from what I saw, there were a lot of really happy fans?
It’s pretty funny once you realise but–
When fans saw what HELLSING was up to, they was so happy, cryin’ too, goin’ “The real UNDEAD are back!”
Can you guys even afford a detour by checkin’ out the facility?
Whilst you’re worryin’ ‘bout things that don’t matter, we’re replacin’ you ♪

T/N: It's pretty long, so you can find it below. Please be aware that there are quite possibly a lot of mistakes as I had trouble hearing them for the most part, and some parts I was not able to hear at all. I apologize for any mistakes / confusion. I have striked out the parts where I'm not 100% certain what was being said.
T/N 2: Marin and Miyu tend to talk about themselves in 3rd person, it's something you can do in Japanese so I kept the same style but it might be confusing if you're not familiar with it.
T/N 3: As it was nearing 4 am by the time I was done, I skipped the final after Miyu's OPOI plug. But I think at that time it's obvious what they're doing. :D
Miyu: So then, Marin-san, today… Marin: Yes. Miyu: After our brother, we have a guest after a long time. Marin: That's right! Miyu: Yes, welcome! Marin: Shoma!
Miyu: Wow! Amazing! Miyu wants to be in the frame too! Marin: Miyu, you can sit here! Shoma: That's right.
Miyu: Marin you sit there. Marin: Okay.
Shoma: Hello. Marin: Introduce yourself! Miyu: No no…Do you need to?? Shoma: Which way? Miyu: Which way??? Marin: What do you mean? Shoma: Skating? Miyu: Oh like your Uno-Tube? Shoma: Like as a skater or as Marin's… Miyu: MARIN'S????
Shoma: Skating then.
Shoma: Hello. I'm Uno Shoma who does skating a little. Marin: Just a little, right? […?…] Shoma: Just a little.
Shoma: You know, my character… It's completely different in front of the camera usually. Marin: What kind of character are you behind the camera? Shoma: I can't speak in front of the cameras. Not at all. Marin: Ah right. Miyu: Huh…Then will you get upset if Miyu is behind the camera? Marin, to Miyu: You should probably stop doing that. Shoma: I get nervous!
Miyu: I collected some questions so I want to ask them the questions. Miyu: "Miyu-chan, do you approve of Shoma-kun?" Miyu: If I didn't approve of him, I wouldn't be filming videos like this, would I, seriously! Huh? Marin: Huh? Shoma: Huh? Miyu: Huh?
Marin: Shomakun often says 'Miyuchan is dark'. Miyu: Ehh Marin: He says things like 'I wonder if she'll dislike it if I speak to her.' Miyu: No no, can I say something? I was happy when though Marin, Shomakun said that he wants to be closer friends with Miyu. When I thought of that, Shomakun kept greeting me every time we meet. Lately, lately I didn't hear from Marin that he talked about Miyu. So I thought maybe he doesn't like me. Marin: So I have to say everything he tells me about Miyu! Miyu: Yeah I want you to report everything to me. Marin: Got it.
Miyu: When I see Shomakun, I get like this, even though in the beginning, in the past, I'd just nod and bow. But lately we're like, "Oh! It's been a while!" Shoma: I can't cut into your conversation, if the two of you are together. Marin: Oh that's right. Also if I go to change costume, she'd definitely come after me. Miyu: But lately--! In the past, I'd just leave without saying anything. But now if Marin leaves, I say "I'll go and help her". Shoma: Yeah. Marin: I've only changed into this sweatshirt from a t-shirt.
Miyu: It's like… […?…] But I don't know how casual I can talk to him. Miyu: If it's Shoma-san, it's the athlete Uno Shoma, and he's greatly my senior. So I'd have to use polite form of speech. But he's my older brother. Marin: What's that Miyu: It's like that, so, I should be like, Shoooma! Marin: You want to call him that? Miyu: It's like, those kind of nice sibling relationship.
Miyu: Like, for an example, when we're all going somewhere, I'm like Shomakuuun, but once we meet at the rink, it's like (bows)…I think that's cool. Marin: That's true. Although normally we're like this, I also think he's an amazing person. Shoma, to Marin: But I don't want you to think of me as an amazing person.
Shoma: I also don't like the polite speech between senpai and kohai. Marin: Ah I see. This part of him is the secret to going to the top, isn't it? Miyu: It's the secret. Marin: Marin's humility is on the ground. It's ground level. Shoma: Your own? Marin: My own evaluation. Shoma: It's because I always end up assuming the worst, so before the competition I'd be like, 'what if this happens', 'what will I do if this happens'. But lately, unlike before, this past year I lost that awful desperation so…I haven't very… No, I don't wanna talk about skating much. Marin: Why? Just let me talk one thing about skating. I watch Shomakun at competitions a lot but… I don't want it to happen and I'm not looking for it but, when you get injured, or when you get sick, or when something hurts, like when you're not in a good shape--- Your performances during those times when you are completely focused are seriously incredible.
Shoma: I get it but… I also think result wise, It's true that it's like that but, for an example, I end up worrying what to do 'if I get injured and just can't do it naturally in the next competition'. I constantly think about that and end up being like this.
Marin: He became like this (points high off the ground). Shoma: No, no, like this. (points lower) Marin: He was like this (low), and now became like this (high). Shoma: Normally (points lower)
Miyu: So then for an example, if you're giving a present to Marin on her birthday, like 'I prepared this', though I don't know, are you also like 'what should I do! If Marin oversleeps today, what should I do tonight?' Do you think negatively like that? Shoma: Ah.. But, if you're surprising someone, it becomes a situation where you have to make the other person happy. And I worry that it'll pressure her. Miyu: Wait, huh???? (You're worried about) the other person? Shoma: So I think about doing something that's harmless. Miyu: Wow that's amazing.
Marin: Miyu is happy with anything so he- Miyu: Yeah yeah I'm happy with just receiving things! Marin: And with Sara, it's always like 'Do you have this already?' Miyu: That's right, that's right! Shoma: I think she's just saying it because she's considerate but she's like, 'Thanks!' Marin: That's also a nice thing about Sara. Shoma: True. That's really nice of her.
Miyu: Please answer this without thinking of it as weird. What do you like about each other? You can answer with anything. Marin: Start with Marin. Miyu: Start with Miyu. Marin: Miyu?? We're including Miyu too?
Shoma: You want me to start? Are you sure? Miyu: No I was just, it's just how you go 'No me! No me! Me! Me!' Marin: No one's doing that. Shoma: We're not doing that. Miyu: Well then, what do you like about Marin? Shoma: There's nothing I can say like 'This is what I like about her'. Because I like everything. Because it's everything about her. It's not about something specific, it isn't one specific thing. For an example, this will be the exact same conversation as before but, for an example if I say "I like Marin's legs." Like how you say you like legs. If I did that, for the other person, there'll be some kind of pressure where they'd have to have those legs. That's what I think. Miyu: Oh oh so if it's like 'I like Marin who wears this outfit' and she'd have to keep wearing that. Shoma: Yeah! It's like outfits or personality, too. Like for me, when I think about it, when I was a kid I was told things like 'This is the good thing about you', I ended up thinking that I'd have to be that way. I don't want to pressure her in that way and also I like everything about her so the answer becomes 'everything' too.
Miyu: I think the YouTube title this time around should be 'Textbook Boyfriend'. It's amazing. So that's how it is. I see.
Marin: Me? Do I have to say 'everything' now?? Shoma: That's why I asked if you wanted me to go first. Marin: Everything? It's not everything! Miyu: I want to hear the reason! Marin: His farts stink! Shoma: I get told a lot. Marin: Can I say that? Shoma: It's totally fine. Marin: Please don't tease him about that ok, everyone? Miyu: If it smelled naturally like roses you'd be like I want to smell it. But I can't say that to Shoma-san. Marin: You wanted to tell him 'I want to smell it' if it smelled like roses?
Miyu: Let's move on. This is a question for Shoma-san. Can you win against the love Marin's siblings have for her? Marin: Oh! Can I say what I like about him? Miyu: Of course! Marin: That reminded me. With Miyu and Sara, he cherishes everyone as much as me. Marin: Well, not that much but it's true.
Shoma: But if I made a comment about it here… For me, that's something that's normal, that it's a given. If I say that, I wonder if it'll come off as if Mabo is making me do it. Marin: In the worst case scenario? Shoma: In the worst case scenario. Marin: 'Will she get flamed for it?' Shoma: Right, right! In the worst case scenario. Marin: Worst case scenario.
Miyu: You know how he calls Marin, Mabo? And Sara is Sabo.. Marin: Sarabo Miyu: Sarabo! Why is it Miyuchan for Miyuchan? Although I'm happy that it's special. Marin: Mibo Miyu: I don't wanna be called Mibo Shoma: I'm still shy. After like two months, together with Marin…After One Piece is over… Miyu: No no, you can't be like 'two months later', everything is over before even a month ends.
Miyu: My dream is to- […?…] I want to expose the cute sides of Marin, and talk to Shomakun about 'something like this happened'. Marin: You're so heavy! Marin: These two are amazing. They'll definitely talk like this, they'll avoid looking at each other. Shoma: I'm being careful! I'm trying to look at her! Miyu: Our eyes meet at the screen of the camera. Marin: Your personalities are really the same.
Miyu: What's a place you two go to often - you don't have to say the place. Shoma&Marin: Ready, set, go--- STARBUCKS Marin: Right? Shoma: Right
Miyu: 'Do they know that the fans call the two of them Shomarin'? Miyu: I called the two of you Shomarin for a really long time. Marin: You did! Miyu: So fans also call you Shomarin. Shoma: I don't really know how we're called or anything. Marin: I do know but, Shoma: Oh, so you do know. Marin: But Miyu was calling us that since a really long time ago. Miyu: Do you have anything else that you want to be called? Marin: Is there? A pair name? Shoma: A pair name? Marin: (Nudges his shoulder to encourage him to answer) Shoma: (Reluctant) I'm not funny or anything.
[ I don't understand this part at all but Shoma says something about being the same as Miyuchan.]
Marin: You two are really alike. How to put it, like your personalities, it's really similar. Miyu: We also both like Marin. Marin, to Miyu: I wonder about that. Is that so? Miyu: I'm happy.
Miyu: What's something you both have in common the most? Shoma: By common point do you mean what we see in ourselves or what others tell about us---See this is how I'll get. Miyu: That's the image we usually have of Shomakun. Marin: […?…] Shoma: Right!
Miyu: Can we look forward to a scene with Vivichan and Luffy? Shoma: At first we're really in different […?…] but in the past […?…] Marin: Right, it's because we're doing something we never did before. Rather than skating as if it's a performance, it was embarrassing to do it at first, right? Shoma: Yeah because none of us did that before. Marin: Saying lines and getting yelled at and such. But Miyu has been doing it a lot. Shoma: It's because my personality is the most different from this character called Luffy. I think everyone worried most about me. Right now I'm not embarrassed at all.
Miyu: As Vivi and Luffy, the two of you were amazing unrelated to who Shomakun and Marin are. I thought that. Marin: Thank you.
Shoma: I feel really sad that these One Piece rehearsals are coming to an end. Miyu: I'm sad. Shoma: Of all my skating past, this has been a top level fun for me. So… Marin: It's ending within a month, right? Let's do our best.
