𝐎𝐈𝐙𝐘𝐒 — 𝐠𝐢𝐲𝐮 𝐭𝐨𝐦𝐢𝐨𝐤𝐚
you get injured and giyu blames himself, although, it’s not really his fault, is it? 📝 gn! reader. for @meowzfordayz 4.1k event! might redo this only because i don’t like how i finished it off… we’ll see! hope you guys enjoy regardless! <3
word count : 600+
𝙉𝙊𝙒 𝙋𝙇𝘼𝙔𝙄𝙉𝙂 . . . 𝘏𝘌𝘈𝘙𝘛 𝘛𝘖 𝘏𝘌𝘈𝘙𝘛 (𝘚𝘗𝘌𝘋 𝘜𝘗) — 𝘔𝘈𝘊 𝘋𝘌𝘔𝘈𝘙𝘊𝘖
“i’m sorry, this is all my fault— ” giyu’s voice shook as his hands trembled. with the snow piling down as the moments passed, you could easily mistake his tremors for being cold. but you knew better from his worried look and somewhat glassy eyes.
“giyu, love, it’s not. stop blaming everything on yourself.” you said back, your voice straining against the pain in your side from which the demon slashed at— blood oozing out as giyu continued to panic.
“if only i’d arrived sooner, this wouldn’t have happened.”
“it’s not deep enough to kill me, i’ll be fine.” you tried to reassure him.
it was all too much, the flashbacks of death, his recent dreams of you in their situations. but he wouldn’t dare break down yet, not while you still needed to be taken somewhere to heal.
he ran as fast as his legs could take him while carrying you bridal style and slow enough so that you wouldn’t feel extra pain from his rushing. he hoped that you were right, that the cut wasn’t too deep, even if it was close to a vital point.
he could see the building of a wisteria house a few minutes later (he’s never been so relieved to see one of these), quickly handing you off and waiting impatiently to see you again after your treatment.
giyu felt terrible. he felt like the worst boyfriend ever as he paced outside the door like a dog waiting for its owner to come home.
could he have prevented this? this wouldn’t have happened had you been paired with another hashira. he’s just that bad. he wishes that you could be with anyone but him, someone that’ll actually protect you and make you happy— not… someone who can’t get over his past traumas and can’t even prevent a demon from attacking you.
he cursed the demon for being stronger than any lower class one. it wasn’t an uppermoon, but a demon with a powerful blood art can be threatening even without some of muzan’s blood.
the sliding door opens, making giyu perk his head up from staring down at the floor.
the elderly lady there smiles, beckoning him to come inside to see how you’re doing, on the way as he’s walking in talking about how lucky you are that the demon didn’t get any permanent damage done. she leaves with a, “i’ll have dinner ready for the both of you soon.”
you smile at him when he’s in view, holding out a hand as he carefully takes it. he kneels down to your level as you sit up the best you can, ignoring his protests for you to lie back down. you give him a small kiss on the cheek.
“it’s not your fault. it would’ve gotten me had you been there or not.” you start off.
“how are you so sure about that?” he tucks some hair behind your ear, interlacing his hands with yours.
“that demon was bad at concentrated shots at one target. it’s better if there’re multiple people, hence why most of its victims were in pairs,” you shrug, “it’s my fault for getting careless, you had nothing to do with it hitting me. i got the job done in the end anyways, and i’m at least alive, aren’t i?”
he nods, kissing your lips. “my heart still hasn’t recovered. it’s like i’m still afraid you’re going to leave any second.”
you smile at him. “i’m not going anywhere.” you pull him closer, his figure hovering over your body as you kiss him again, a little more intimate this time than his fleeting one.
“you’d better not.” he says as you pull away, your head finally resting against the pillow again. you giggle lightly as his own small laughter follows, the only thing on the both of your minds at that moment being so far away from the pain and misery from the world outside, focused solely on each other.

THE GREAT WAR — PART II TEASER
Giyuu’s Flashback • Secret Pregnancy AU
A/N: don’t think I’ve forgotten about these two!
Enjoy a small teaser featuring a key flashback for Giyuu from Part II of TGW. As I said in the notes for Part I, this is a non-linear story, and this flashback in particular is something referenced in Part I, while Reader is patching Giyuu’s wound up (a hint: Giyuu’s particular questioning about Reader’s choice of perfume oils).
Enjoy a little humor and a very, very flustered Water Pillar.
CW: accidental spying while Reader is bathing • Giyuu gets horny but doesn’t realize why • Giyuu is an idiot
READ PART I HERE
The shop vendor continued to gape after the woman long after she disappeared into the bustling crowd. Mildly, Giyuu noted that he’d polished the same dish two times over, unable to break free from his trance.
“Was that not the most beautiful woman you’ve ever seen?”
“I did not notice.” He replied, chewing thickly on his mouthful of udon. The vendor raised a single, skeptical eyebrow at his dismissiveness but said nothing more, and for that Giyuu was grateful.
He hated small talk, especially when he was trying to enjoy his meal. If anything, it only took away from the experience, ensuring that half his food ended up everywhere — his lap, the counter — but his mouth.
Besides, the Merchant’s attempt to engage him on this particular subject was rather pointless. In truth, Giyuu never really found anyone beautiful — not really. Though, he supposed as he shoved down another mouthful of his soup, perhaps that was because he’d never truly bothered to pay attention to anyone to definitively say one way or another. Paying attention to something as trivial as one’s physical appearance meant he wasn’t focusing on that which truly mattered — like signs of demons, of things going bump in the night.
And Giyuu Tomioka did not tolerate distractions.
With a grimace, he drained the last of the broth from his bowl and tossed a handful of change on the counter for payment. He only nodded curtly at the cook in farewell before he set off, ready to do one final patrol through the forest leading to his home before he would return and await his next orders.
The sleepy forest absorbed the sound of his footsteps as Giyuu made his way through the unmarked path he’d established as the final length of his patrol through the small, mountainous region in which he was assigned. Judging by the faint chirps of the earliest birds beginning to sound from the canopy of trees above, he knew dawn was close, and thus, his vigil was coming to an end.
The night had been relatively quiet, and so Giyuu allowed his thoughts to roam to the Shrine at the other end of the forest. He wondered whether its grounds were already abuzz with trainee priestesses and groundskeepers, as they flurried around to take care of their morning duties before breakfast was served.
Truthfully, his mind was only interested in the activities of one particular trainee, but the Water Pillar had no reason to drop by the once-reverent shrine, and so, he decided to stick to his current route, and then he’d make his way back for a few hours’ rest. If anything were amiss at the shrine, one of the crows he’d stationed there would alert him.
As Giyuu began to make the loop that would lead him back to his barren estate, a shift in the wind brought a change in scent from that of the usual dirt-pine-molded earth odor he’d always associated with the woods, to something softer; sweeter.
The Water Pillar frowned as the early morning breeze wafted more of the peculiar scent towards him. The herbal-floral fragrance was out of place amidst the familiar, damp rot of the forest, and it made him uneasy. Giyuu had long since learned that things that were out place usually spelled trouble, and where there was trouble, there was usually demon activity afoot.
That was all it took for him to change his course of action. With a fluid deftness that came only from years of having to tread lightly to avoid being ripped apart, Giyuu moved through the forest towards the source of the scent, it’s pull growing thicker as he drew nearer.
A cursory glance toward the canopy of the forest above him revealed a lightening sky; the stars had long since winked out, and the Water Pillar knew that the sun was well on its way to breaking over the horizon. But until that time arrived, the threat of demon activity persisted, and this unknown scent was far too close to not investigate.
Besides, if there was a demon in this forest, that meant it could stumble upon the Shrine at any moment, and that was a risk Giyuu would not take.
He took off in a silent run, eyes peeled to track any movement in the dark, his ears pricked for the slightest signal of something misplaced — an odd crack of a branch, or the sudden silence of the rising, tittering birds.
As the trail of strange floral perfume grew stronger, so too, did the distinct aquatic scent of nearby water. His eyes narrowed; only a few feet ahead, the trees thinned into a line before giving way to a large gap.
A clearing. One that housed a sizeable waterfall, judging by the telltale sound of roaring water as it smashed into a cluster of rocks below. He eased into a stealthy prowl toward the opening, his body alert and poised to respond to any threat that awaited him beyond the darker of the forest.
But all was quiet; yet, years spent within the Corps had ingrained within him a deep mistrust of silence. And so, Giyuu lingered in the shadows of the trees surrounding the small waterfall as he watched, waiting.
The raven-haired slayer’s attention snapped to a small disturbance over by the bank of the waterfall. The sky had lightened enough that he could make out a figure, clad in white, knelt down in the shallow of the river basin.
Giyuu’s hand drifted to the hilt of his sword, but as his eyes further adjusted, he felt his mouth go dry.
Silhouetted against the faint glow emitting from the waterfall and the rapidly lightening sky, Y/N sharpened into focus as she waded deeper into the pool, a small bucket cradled in her arms.
She was not dressed in her usual, traditional Miko attire; rather, she was clad only in a thin white kimono that clung wetly to her hips as she moved towards the waterfall. She paused at the base of the gentle flow of river from the cliff above, and she pulled a small vial from her bucket that she uncorked with one hand.
The shrine maiden poured the contents of the glass over her head, the liquid too viscous to be water. Giyuu closed his eyes and sniffed the air, and he noted that the scent of herbs and flowers now hung in the air like a thick perfume.
The Water Pillar’s gaze snapped back down to the vexatious Miko just as she filled her bucket with water from the fall. With a grace that he hadn’t realized the young woman possessed, Y/N lifted the pail over her head and tipped its contents over, allowing the water to pour down her frame, drenching her.
A cleansing ritual, Giyuu realized as he watched her repeat the process once more. And a very old one at that; he wasn’t sure many shrine maidens still partook in the rite.
Though, Giyuu supposed, it would make sense that Y/N would not only know of the outdated ceremony, but that she would practice it, given that she’d been raised by a grandmother who insisted on abiding by tradition at all cost.
He hadn’t realized that the mere observation of a cleansing rite meant that its participant would look the way Y/N did, standing in the cool spring, clad in nothing but a thin white gown that the water had nearly turned transparent. The Water Pillar’s worked to swallow around the lump that had formed in his throat as Y/N’s water-soaked kimono clung to her skin, revealing the soft, rounded curve of her backside and the delicate length of her legs that Giyuu hadn’t realized she possessed under the loose layers of her shrine outfit.
Giyuu shifted his weight in the tree, inexplicably enraptured by the Miko’s morning ritual to realize he’d startled a small bird into flight.
Y/N whipped around at the disturbance and the ravenette shrank further back into the shadows, his cheeks feeling bizarrely warm at the sight of the young woman now facing his direction.
Giyuu chanced a glance back at the Miko just as the sun broke over the horizon, its pale golden light reflecting off the calm surface of the spring, casting Y/N in the hoary glow of the cascading waterfall.
She looked…like she did not belong in this world. Her hair hung around her shoulders and down to her waist, and the spray of the waterfall clung to the strands like thousands of glittering stars. Her eyes were sharp and bright as they scanned the tree line for the source, her soft, reddened lips twisted down into an uncharacteristic frown.
Giyuu kept his assessment of her form, so stripped back and vulnerable, confined strictly to her face. It was bad enough that the sight of Y/N, standing in the luminescent water, had sent his pulse skyrocketing; he did not trust what would happen if he allowed his gaze to drop lower, to where that diaphanous kimono covered her chest.
Perhaps there was a perfectly logical explanation for his strange reaction to the image of Y/N, standing in the pool, that had nothing to do with her at all. He wondered whether some of the herbs she’d used in her cleansing oil could impart a physical effect on those exposed to their concentrated fragrance; Giyuu made a mental note to find a casual way to ask her, the next time he saw her.
Y/N turned away from him once more as she began to wade back over to the bank of the spring. Now that the sun had risen, Giyuu could spy the familiar white and red cloth of her kosode and hakama pants, folded in a neat bundle atop a small boulder.
Before the sun could chase away the shadows of the forest and reveal his presence, Giyuu turned away and retreated, willing himself not to ponder on the fact that she’d changed clothes, in the middle of a dark forest, just prior to his arrival.
Though, his commitment to not thinking about how the shrine maiden may have looked as she discarded her usual attire in favor of the flimsy bathing kimono she’d been wearing meant that Giyuu’s traitorous thoughts wandered instead to the memory of her standing hip-deep in the spring. His mind struggled to categorize the mental image of her — she was the same Y/N he’d come to know, and yet, something about her was different, though he couldn’t, for the life of him, figure out what it was.
The word he’d been searching for came to him not long after the sun had fully risen in the early summer sky, just as the sloped roof of his manor came into view.
Beautiful, Giyuu decided. Y/N was beautiful.

Giyu Tomioka Yandere Headcanons
Warnings: Mentions of kidnapping, yandere themes
➼ OMG??? HOW LUCKY ARE YOU??? You must have some insane charisma to pull him.
➼ He's definitely not quiet once he becomes comfortable around you. Never an awkward moment of silence persists between you two. He wants to know all about you. You're one of the few people who talk to him without spouting insults, and he appreciates that a lot. It's almost like he's in love with you- wait, is he?
➼ He could talk to you for hours. The way your eyes light up when you're talking about a topic of interest and how you get so animated- he adores it. He would love to train with you all the time and would insist you guys go on missions together, he treasures the alone time he gets with you. He would buy you gifts every week, that's one of his love languages.
➼ He knows he can't afford to lose you. He dislikes the fact of you putting yourself at risk for saving others. The paranoia of losing someone else could make him distance himself from you, but he knows you're not letting him go so easily. He remains in disbelief sometimes realizing how much you truly care about him. He simply thinks that he doesn't deserve it, but really, he just needs some love.
➼ He's a protective yandere. He must know at all times where you are or he'll lose his mind. Red flag? Potential kidnapping. If he feels threatened by the fact that you might get hurt or something bad could happen to you, he'll do it, no questions asked. He feels as if the thought of you is taking over his mind. Plus, he's a hashira. He can easily do whatever he wants with you, but he won't.
➼ If you're good enough, you can keep your freedom. He's not leaving you alone at the slightest risk of danger.

Hi sorry to bother but if your requests are open I’m hoping you can read this? I was wondering if you can write a reaction of the hashiras finding out that y/n was an assassin before becoming a hashira? Like what are their thoughts, are they ok with her, do they still like her, are they afraid of her? Please take your time and no rush :) I hope you have fun with this.
(Ps: her being an assassin is a family thing kinda like Killua from HXH.)
GENDER: Gender Neutral Reader
WARNINGS: Assassin Reader, Slight! Metions of Family Trouble, and Slight! Angst
CHARACTERS: Gyomei Himejima, Sanemi Shinazugawa, Obanai Iguro, Muichiro Tokito, Giyuu Tomioka, Kyojuro Rengoku, Mitsuri kanroji. Uzui Tengen, and Shinobu Kacho
WORD COUNT: 401
A/N- I am still taking request, and I'll make post if I weren't! and of course I can write this for you, so enjoy!
Startled, with a few being slightly more alarmed than shocked, but they are interested and curious—I'm sure quite a few questions are itching to be answered.
If you are currently a hashira and gave brief information about your past to them, then I really doubt they’ll dislike you if all of you were on friendly terms before. But you’ve got people like Obanai and Sanemi, debbie-downers of the hashiras, skeptical and concerned if you would still end in those troublesome behaviors for a quick buck. Within enough time they’ll forget it and notice it wasn’t your fault for being forced by your parents to continue that trade. The rest would simply be the phrase “The past is in the past.” They’ll continue on as before, feeling apologetic and compassion for you after you disclose your story of being ushered into that work by your parents, offering you some comfort as much as they can give.
GYOMEI HIMEJIMA
Tears wettened the hefty man's checks, bowing his head and hands clapped together to pray for your well-being. “You poor soul, I hope that now you can find some peace being amongst us and release yourself from the past.”
SANEMI SHINAZUGAWA
He frowned and scoffed, “how do we not know you’ll not go back to your old ways!?”
But then expresses his apologies after putting some thought to it, “forgive me for being insensitive.”
OBANAI IGURO
He scowled and pointed his finger at you, “and you're a hashira? Hashira defend people, not murder them for payment!”
Obanai won't apologize verbally, but in a way his gaze softens and his actions seem less hostile once you told more about your past.
MUICHIRO TOKITO
Externally unbothered but shocked, then forgets. “The clouds are pretty.”
GIYU TOMIOKA
Unperturbed, though his eyes soften. “I’m sorry to hear that.”
KYOJURO RENGOKU
The time a smile never comes to his face, beside the sympathetic one as he rests a hand on your shoulder. “That must've been hard for you, Y/N. But I'm proud of you and how far you have come. Remember to set your heart ablaze!”
MITSURI KANROJI
Her eyes widen, a mouth hiding her quivering lip, before rushing and embracing you into her arms. “It okay, Y/N. I promise that we see you no different than before, I am happy that you were comfortable to share that with us.”
TENGEN UZUI
He nods his head and pats your head, “that was very flamboyant of you, but no matter what don’t let the past hold your back!”
SHINOBU KOCHO
She smiled softly and rubs your back, “well at least you are out of that situation and are coming into a more stable life with us.”

"You know... I'll always... go back.. to you, Sanemi..."
As if drenched in cold water, Sanemi's eyes widened as your voice came out of the blue. Feeling his heartbeats go fast, he turned to you, and there, purple eyes met with your E/C ones.
Sanemi didn't care at all. Tears streamed down his face as he saw you awake. His strength, which had ebbed out of his body earlier as he saw you dying because of Hotaru, came back. And with that, Sanemi pulled you into a warm embrace, making sure not to press on your wound.
Whimpering, his voice came out in a whisper. "I... love you... I don't want you to die..."
"Sssh... I'm here, babe... You won't get rid of me that easily."
You still managed to jest, trying to cheer him up a bit even if you feel your body so fucked up. You felt as if your internal organs were all in the wrong places. But no, it didn't stop you from lifting Sanemi's face and wiping the tear off his face.
Smiling, you caressed his tear-streaked cheek. "Babe, for someone so manly all the time, you look so cute right now."
As if there were no tragedy, you made Sanemi blush and clear his throat. The man was suddenly flustered by your comments. But at least you managed to lighten the mood, even for a bit.
"And for someone who was stabbed, you're too crazy to tell me those words."
"That's why you love me..."
"Oh well... You're damn right about that."
And with that, Sanemi planted a longing and passionate kiss on your lips.
Savouring the moment, you ran your hands over Sanemi's hair and pulled out to breathe. The man smiled at you and heaved a sigh, as if the weight on his shoulder had been lifted.
"Why are you so stubborn, Y/N? If you only let me go with you, this wouldn't happen."
"But at least it's all alright now, isn't it?"
"Yes, but still... I almost lost you. We almost lost you!"
"I told you already, you won't get rid of me that easily. Coming from you, I'm stubborn."
"Oh fuck, I won't ever win an argument with you."
His last retort made you laugh, which was eventually cut as you felt the pain sip right in. Sanemi immediately came to your side and was about to press the button to call a nurse when you stopped him. "I'm okay... It's just a little pain..." You lied, but all you want now is to calm your boyfriend down.
"You sure?"
"Yes. Now sit there and tell me what happened. How are you?"
"Babe, I'm all good. Don't worry about me. I wasn't really hurt earlier. I... I just don't want to lose you. I was scared, but now, I am so thankful that you're here."
Babe... of course. Thank you earlier for being there. If it weren't because of you, I think I'm gone already."
"You know that I won't let that happen, babe, right?"
"Mmm yes... How's Tomioka-san though? Was he hurt? Please tell me no... And how's Hotaru?"
"Babe, calm down. Thanks to you, Tomioka's unscathed. But he seems too worried and blames himself for what happened. I think it's best for you to talk to him once you're feeling good."
You sighed. Knowing Giyu, you know that he would definitely feel that way, and you hate it. But then, you decided to deal with it later, as you knew you still had more time to talk to him.
"And Hotaru?"
You now asked again, gulping as you felt yourself shiver at his name. Flashes of what happened earlier came back to you, but then you tried your best to focus.
Sanemi shifted from his seat and looked down on his hands, which were resting on his knees. The uncomfortable feeling is here again as he remembers how you were badly injured earlier.
"He's in custody. He seemed to... snap earlier after seeing you that way. He didn't even fight back when he was arrested. Obanai and Tomioka were at the police station earlier, and they told me that Hotaru said that he deserved to be there and he'll die soon anyways. Tell me, what really happened there, Y/N?"
"Hotaru's dying. He told me he only has a month or so to live..."
"So that's why he has the audacity to hurt you?! That fucker. I'll kill him now."
"Sanemi..."
You held the seething man's hand to calm him down once again. You know that you can be his kryptonite, his weakness; that's why he's acting like this now. He just cares a lot about you.
Sanemi kissed your hand and looked into your eyes. You felt his breath brushing on your skin, making your heart skip. This man... You never expected that this intimidating math teacher, who seemed to hate everything before, would be this soft and passionate about you.
Sanemi has changed a lot since you two were together, and it seems to dawn on you more right now as you see him vulnerable in front of you.
"Sanemi, I love you. You know I won't ever let you do something that'll hurt you, right?"
"I know. Sorry, it's just my emotions—"
"Babe, no one will hurt me again. I'll also be here for you always. I love you so much, more than anything."
"And I love you too."
Suddenly, you felt the man's lips over you once again. As if you had been fighting for your life for quite a while, it feels peaceful right now. Finally.
"Tomioka-san, I told you already that I'm alright. And you don't need to blame yourself for that! I was stubborn."
"But—"
"Why is my nii-chan like this always? I told you, you always protected me. Ever since the world crashed for me, you were there to complete me, to help me. It's just this once that I managed to save you. And I'll never ever regret that."
"Tomioka-san, I told you already that I'm alright. And you don't need to blame yourself for that! I was stubborn."
You were face-to-face with Tomioka in your hospital room. Sanemi had let the two of you sort things out as even if he denies it, he's worried for his new friend as much as he is for you.
"But—"
"Why is my nii-chan like this always? I told you, you always protected me. Ever since the world crashed for me, you were there to complete me, to help me. It's just this once that I managed to save you, and I'll never ever regret that."
Nii-chan... I never called him that. And while that realisation came, Giyu's eyes were filled with tears as he looked at you with such longing. "It's the first time you called me that..."
You gave him a smile and patted his shoulder. "It's because you're my big brother, and I know Tsutako-sama will kill us both if she knows this is the reason why you won't be home tonight."
"Ugh, you really know how to kill the mood, Y/N."
A smile formed on the P.E. teacher's lips as he wiped his tears. You felt your heart go fast as you saw Giyu's bright smile.
"Tomioka-san, I don't know if I'll ever repay you for being a great brother and friend to me. But always remember, I love you, nii-chan. Okay? I really appreciate you."
"Thank you. I really appreciate this."
The ravenette stood up from his seat and planted a kiss on your forehead, which made you blush. He went towards the door, but then you called him again.
"Tomioka-san... I'm always here for you. Okay? Same with Sanemi. And I think Iguro-san too. I'm always thankful for you, nii-chan. Please tell Iguro-san, thank you, as well for being there."
"Alrighty. Get some rest. See you at school soon."
And yes, you managed to get a one-week rest. Doctor's orders. Sanemi knows how workaholic you are and tries his best to make you relaxed. But then, of course, as stubborn as you are, you still asked him how your classes were, almost every day.
He told you Kyojuro covered mostly your classes, and your students miss you. Actually, Sanemi misses seeing you at school too, but then he knows he'll have you all by himself after his work. So then, it's all good.
You are also excited about the upcoming school trip tomorrow. You had already packed your things. Even if Sanemi had protested that you should stay at home, you didn't want to, as you never wanted to miss this. And with that, of course, your boyfriend supported you.
So here you are now, sitting in front of your packed things and smiling. Who would've thought that even if all of those things have happened, you're still here to enjoy things with your beloved people? Fate really can be crazy, but at least it seems to be on your side now.
"Ehem, I think my excited baby should rest now."
You blinked as Sanemi's voice came from your back. You looked up, and there you met his eyes as he stood behind the couch, towering over you. With a smile on his lips and glitter on his eyes, Sanemi leaned in to kiss your forehead and sit beside you.
"Babe, you should rest. You know, Genya's excited to finally see you again tomorrow. That boy's damn worried about you!"
"Really?"
His siblings really accepted me.
"Yes! And Shinobu... That girl was forcing me to drive her here to check on you. Damn, I never thought that girl could be that annoying. She also makes sure to bug Tomioka. Like every single fucking day."
"Give her a break. She's my friend, that's why."
Sanemi rolled his eyes but then leaned into you. You felt his breath tickling your lips as your eyes fixed on his purple ones, which are now full of desire.
"I miss you so much, Y/N," he said, caressing your face. His actions made you gulp as you tried your best not to let your passion drive you crazy. You know how much the man has composed himself, as he knows you're still healing. And knowing Sanemi, that's hard for him, but at least he tries.
Slowly, you cupped his face and leaned in, letting your lips clash with one another. As if the wind meets the fire, your feelings burned so hard inside of you. Tongues fought for dominance, and as always, the math teacher won.
You were about to give in when suddenly...
"You need to rest, babe." Sanemi said softly, planting a kiss on your cheek.
Pouting, you crossed your arms as you watched him carry your bag and arrange it on the side of the room. "Sanemi, you're teasing me."
"Believe me, I find it hard not to be inside you right now. But you need to rest, my love. Okay? I'll make it up to you once you're all healed. I promise."
It's funny how your boyfriend knows you more sometimes than you know yourself. And he's right—you need rest. Finally, you can sleep now in peace because, after a while, Sanemi's here with you, safe and sound.

Asahi: You know what bothers me? Bats. Why can bats fly?
Giyuu: Not again!
Asahi: No. Seriously, who gave them the right? They're mammals! Mammals walk on land, no exceptions.
Muichiro: Just wait until you hear about whales.
Asahi: What now?

A Nightmare And A Solution
He woke up with a start, sweat forming on his arms and head. His eyes shook from shock and fear from the images that had played in his head. The blood, the two deaths of the two people he loved and couldn't save-! It was too much...
He hadn't gotten a lot of sleep for the past month or two. Only 2 hours of sleep, if not 3 when he was lucky. Still, that didn't cut the fact that he was holding his knees with his arms close to his chest. He wanted to cry, he really did want to let the tears flow for a bit.
But he couldn't! He couldn't let the tears roll down his cheeks. He thought of it as a weakness! A weakness that was not allowed as a Hashira. Well- that was what he had told himself over the few years he was a Hashira. It did not help that he felt guilty for not being able to save the two people he loved most.
The promise he made with Sabito and his sister to always be by each other's side...
He sighed shakily and got up, calming down and ready to get his head off of that nightmare with training. Yes, he trained at ungodly hours whenever he had a nightmare which was constant between 4 to 5 times a week. If he was lucky, that was. Sometimes, he'll have nightmares 7 times a week and sometimes once or maybe never. But that was a rare chance, 0 percent, a 1 in a 1 000 chance to happen, so rare and only happened twice this year.
He closed his eyes, took a deep breath and exhaled. He had to keep things under control. He had to stay calm, he had to keep himself calm and collected. It was the Hashira meeting the next morning. He wasn't going to attend this one, he'll write an excuse for Master Kagaya and give his reason for why he could not attend the meeting.
" ... I guess I'll train."
He sighed, running his hand through his hair and gripped it tightly. He was a bit frustrated and at a loss of what to do. All he could do was send his crow, Kanzaburo, with the message of why he won't attend the meeting. But his crow was so old that he couldn't send it as frequently anymore as he could when the crow was younger.
This was all too frustrating for him, but he pushed through it and called his crow. The beautiful bird looked so fragile from old age, but was incredibly determined and had no problem helping him.
" Tell Master Kagaya I shall not attend the meeting due to my current state."
The crow left without any problem, flying through the few hours of nighttime that was left. He wasn't going to go back to sleep that easily. It was difficult when the images from the nightmare plagued him. The blood, the lifeless eyes... it all but did any good to his mentality. He shook his head.
It was probably around 3 o'clock in the morning. The meeting started at around 8 o'clock. There was only 5 hours left before the meeting. He didn't know at what time he got done with the mission, but it was definitely somewhere between 12 and 2 in the morning. He was uncertain. What he was NOT uncerain about, however, was that he was going to train to keep his mind focused.
To keep his mind focused on something other than that nightmare of a dream.
He shook his head and got up. The heat from his futon was replaced with cold air. He shivered. Why had it to be the one time in winter for a meeting? He ignored that question. There was no need to focus on that right now.
He walked to his changing room and changed into his uniform. All except for one thing. He took a moment to stare at his Haori that was held in front of him, however.
The memories of what the Haori held...
He frowned and put it on, pushing back the memories and images to the back of his mind to the best of his ability. It worked almost all the time. Almost. He could brush it off sometimes when remembering those days.
But it was hard to do so when you had constant replays of their deaths every single night.
Their painfully taunting words in his dreams were always replaying in his head. The faces of betrayal and anger from the ones he loved so much- it hurt him. It cut him deep to know that it was his fault... that he was the one to blame for both of their deaths.
It was better to wait for a replacement than to end things right here and there.
It was a waste of time to think of it, he thought. But it was also not... not very easy to not think of. Why was he the one to live instead of his sister and best friend? Why didn't he die instead of them? Why was he alive? Thoughts like that ran through the air like a wildfire.
He shook his head to refocus. He couldn't think like that now and won't think like that while focusing on training. He left the changing room and exited his estate. He loved the smell of the fresh air as he walked to his training grounds.
He couldn't attend the meeting, but hopefully Shinaguzawa will tell him? Or not, if he ever found out that he wasn't getting proper sleep again. The chances of Shinaguzawa cuddling him tonight are slim- unless he asks the Master to excuse him tonight.
" ..."
He frowned before calming down. All he had to do was train. That was it. Nothing more, nothing less.
-x-
" WHAT?!"
Sanemi yelled, causing Giyu's crow to feel a bit uncomfortable. This wasn't the first time, nor would it be the last. He had forced the crow to tell him what it had told the master. Apparently, it wasn't what he wanted to hear.
" Ngh-! That idiot!"
His canines sharpened unnoticeably. He was NOT happy with the news he received from the crow. He clenched his teeth together, veins about ready to pop. He had enough of Tomioka Giyu. This was the last straw! He was pissed off more than normal.
" That idiot seriously thinks that he is better than everyone?! Thinking he is special enough to skip a meeting?! Disgraceful!"
Sanemi hissed with venom. He was gong to kill him.
" Go away!"
He shooed the crow, eyes a bit larger than normal. Unnoticeable but still a bit larger. An actual person with anger issues and temper problems.
" Aniki?"
" WHAT?!"
He snapped at Genya, bearing his teeth out of anger and frustrtion. Genya flinched, averting his eyes to look down. He was sweating. He was nervous. He forced himself to calm down. Just for Genya, just for one day...
" What?"
He asked, annoyance and frustration still noticeable in his voice.
" Um- uh... it's about the water pillar-"
Sanemi was in front of him, eyes wide and with a glint of something foreign to Genya.
" W.H.A.T?"
" He... um- he... well-"
" Spit it out, Genya."
He was an inch away from grabbing Genya, one tick away from hurting him. What did Genya know about Tomioka that he didn't? Perhaps where he lived?
" ... He... hasn't been... um- acting like normal?"
He glared. What? What does Genya mean by that?
" What do you mean by that?"
Genya sweated a lot.
" I haven't seen him eat anything-"
He slammd his hand right next to Genya, teeth visible and glare deepening. He was one for not caring, but when someone didn't eat? That's the only thing that triggered him.
" For how long?"
Genya looked bit shocked from the sudden action, but swallowed hard.
" Um... four days, I think- I don't know..."
He growled. So Tomioka hasn't been eating for that long? What was he trying to prove? That he was better than everyone else?! He retracted his hand and turned around, about to leave.
" And..."
He stopped when Genya spoke again. He was listening.
" And I heard Miss Kocho talk about him... about him not taking medication for sleep?"
He froze up. What? Did the Water Pillar really struggle with sleeping? Impossible. He always looked awake and aware. He turned to look at Genya.
" What else do you know?"
He was fiddling with is hands... Sanemi noticed it. He knew exactly what that meant.
" Genya. What else do you know?"
" ..."
He turned to face him.
" Genya-"
" He trains until he collapses!"
What was so wrong with training until you couldn't anymore? Sanemi made a confused expression. Genya just looked about ready to c- WAIT! Genya was ready to shed tears?!
" He keeps on training despite being told to rest! I don't think he is okay!"
" ... He is just acting better than us."
He scoffed, rolling his eyes and looked away from his brother.
" I..."
Genya swallowed thickly.
" I don't think... he thinks that he is better than us..."
Sanemi looked back at Genya, saliva dripped from his teeth. He was hungry... not that kind of hungry but more like he was hungry to protect someone.
" I saw him being carried by Rengoku-san once to the Butterfly Estate... and he did look really pale... And Kocho-chan... she had to make sure he didn't leave her care for a week..."
Sanemi wiped the saliva away with his free hand, staying quiet as he thought for a few minutes.
" Where is he?"
" I don't know... maybe at his estate?"
" ..."
He stood there in silence, absorbing the information that was thrown at him. Training despite being told to rest? He frowned. Maybe he had judged Tomioka too soon and not look at the possible clues.
" Where is he?"
" I don't know... maybe at his estate?"
" And where is that?"
" I- I don't know..."
Genya looked disappointed in himself for not being able to tell him where Giyu's estate was. Maybe he thought that he was useless... Sanemi, however, thought of it as useful information. Now he felt... guilty for judging Giyu too soon.
He could follow the crow. The bird was already slow as is, and it was going back to Tomioka's estate anyway! Without a word, he quickly disappeared from how fast he was, leaving Genya behind and speechless.
-x-
" I overdid it again, didn't I?"
Giyu asked himself, laying down and unable to move, body too tired to do so. Maybe it was a terrible idea to train instead of trying to ask Master for a mission. It took out all the energy he had left right from him.
" Again?!"
His eyes widened and he turned his head to see... Sanemi?! What was he doing- No. How did he find the estate?! How- Wh- WHY- HUH?!
" What the fuck do you mean "again", Tomioka?!"
" ..."
He calmed down, thoughts and words collected.
" Nothing."
" Fuck Tomioka! Stop acting like you are better than us! That attitude is making me fucking furious!"
" Then why not leave me alone in peace?"
A pause, the dreaded silence was like a weighted blanket. Heavy and insufferable for the two Hashiras.
" And how, dare I may ask, did you find my estate?"
" It's easy when your crow is slow as fuck."
Wait- why was Sanemi not screaming at him? Or insulting him? And why did he answer his question?! This was weird, very weird. He wasn't used to someone acting weirdly towards him...
" You can leave if you came here to tell me about the meeting. I am not going."
" I am not here to talk about that."
He looked at Sanemi with an unnoticeable shocked expression. And why was everything playing out weirdly? Why did he feel a sudden shift of emotion from Sanemi? So many questions, yet so little answers.
" I am here because I heard you fucking train until you basically pass out or collapse."
Was he worried or something? He never shows concern... And where did he hear that?! Was it Kocho? Rengoku? Who told Shinazugawa? Why not tell Mitsuri or the Kamado siblings?!
" And when was the last time you fucking ate something?!"
" Where did you-"
" That is NOT important right now! Answer my question: When was the last time you fucking ate something?!"
" Why do you need to know? It is not your business-"
" It is my fucking business when one of the fucking pillars are being ignorant towards their fucking health!"
Silence... Sanemi sighed and approached him, crouching down to look at Giyu properly, as if examining his current state while he couldn't move.
" Answer the question."
" ..."
" DAMNIT TOMIOKA! JUST ANSWER THE FUCKING QUESTION!"
Sanemi was, at this point, seething with anger through his teeth. The emotion was accompanied with concern. A two in one combination that was never seen on Sanemi's face by anyone. If he told him, would Sanemi leave him alone? Probably. He didn't care about him. He was just trying to get to him.
" 6 days ago now."
Sanemi's expression darkened. He was fuming with anger, body shaking as he contained the anger that burned in his heart.
" You can lea-"
He grabbed Giyu by the back of his Haori as of he was some kitten as he stood back up. Giyu's limbs were limp and he didn't seem to have the strength to move or struggle. Why was the day against him today?
" Shin-"
" I do not care what you have to say now, but I am NOT letting you starve."
Sanemi dragged him to his estate, opening the doors to see the space was bland and had almost to no decorations. He blankly looked at the space. It was so dull and brought zero comfort unlike the other estates.
" Your estate is as dull as you, if not duller."
He looked at Giyu with a glare.
" No wonder you are better off with not socializing."
He sneered, but stepped inside, Giyu still dragged by him. He probably was so weak now that he couldn't move from both starving and exhausting himself. Sanemi was going to have a word with him after he fed and took care of him.
" Had I known you were this dumb to ignore your health, I would have made sure to tell Kocho about your habits."
" Not like you would if you knew. Why do you care about my health all of a sudden?"
" None of your business. Your attitude is beginning to make me think you don't want to be friends with us for a reason, and I don't know what."
" ..."
He was right, wasn't he? Giyu didn't want to be friends with anyone for a reason, but what was the reason? That was the main question.
" ... You are lucky I am being rather nice today, otherwise I would have insulted you."
" Not like it is uncommon."
" You are testing my fucking patience, Tomioka."
He dragged Giyu to a corner and sat him there, staring at him. Giyu did the same, although weakened from training to the point of exhaustion and starving himself. Sanemi scoffed.
" You look pathetic."
" Not like this is the first time you said it."
He was going to pull all his hair out if Giyu did not stop being snarky with his comments. Sanemi was going to make sure he knew his place and how he was a lot stronger than him.
He just needed to feed Giyu, his prey.
" You are going to eat, or I'll have to go to extreme measures to make sure you do get something in your system."
" Like what? Punching me to death?"
He was strangely talkative... It was weird and not something Sanemi was used to. But how Giyu asked how he would use extreme measures to get something in his empty stomach was a bit... worrisome, to say the least. Punch him to death? That was a bit too far fetched and extremely gruesome.
" I'd rather keep you alive than get scolded for killing a pillar."
Sanemi stood up, hands on his hips as he stared down at the Water Pillar. The beautiful blue eyes staring at him with weird emotions he, himself, could not identify.
" I would rather not get nagged at by the other bastards rather than not do something to keep you in good shape and health."
" You are strangely caring and soft."
" I am not soft and caring. You are asking for a death wish if you continue this cycle of starving yourself and training beyond exhaustion."
Sanemi closed his eyes and rubbed his temples. He was going to kill him someday. Not really, but just talk some sense into him.
" And I know fucking Kocho will have my head if I had ignored the vital piece of information given to me about your state."
" Still doesn't explain your change in demeanor."
" No need for my demeanor to be explained."
" Th- ?!"
A piece of Ohagi was stuffed into his mouth, which was unexpected and caused him to look at Sanemi with wide eyes. The white haired male glared at him, as if sending a message to his mind.
" Eat. Or I'll shove this down your throat myself."
Giyu was confused, finding it oddly comforting that someone cared about his wellbeing... but why did he feel safe around Shinazugawa? He wasn't a predator, right? He hasn't found his given predator yet, so why did he feel safe around him?
But he did not dwell on it any longer, biting into the soft sweet. He did not like sweets in general, but this Ohagi was not too sweet at all. It had a nice balance of being sweet and not sweet. A nice combination he found himself enjoying.
He swallowed and looked at Sanemi, whom held the other half of Ohagi in front of his mouth. Was he seriously being babied by Shinazugawa? He felt humiliated and ashamed.
" Do not ask where it came from, but know that I always have food on me."
" I-"
The other half of Ohagi was stuffed in his mouth and he couldn't help but enjoy the sweet. It was good, and he wondered who made this. Was it from a store, perhaps? He should ask Shinazugawa where he got it after he swallowed.
" Who made this?"
He asked after finishing his food- well, Sanemi's food.
" Don't know."
Was everything getting bigger, or was it just him? And did Sanemi always have sharp canines? Giyu pieced everything together and panicked. His voice disappeared as his panic settled in.
" But I do know that I will have to take care of you, fucker. You are lucky I am your boyfriend, or I wouldn't have done this for your own good."
" I- you are-"
" Stop panicking. I won't hurt you."
His voice and expression softened. He gave a small smile that must have been meant to reassure him. It sure as hell did little to reassure him. It scared him more.
" Ignore everything I said, okay? I was only pretending on my part so that whoever was nearby would think I hate you. You know I love you, right?"
Giyu couldn't speak... He couldn't believe that Sanemi was a predator, his boyfriend... He should have known that his boyfriend was his predator, but how did he not notice?! How did he miss the signals that flared in his mind?! Is that why he always felt so safe around Shinazugawa?
He was gently scooped up in one hand, the other hand pinching the back of his Haori and held him above Sanemi's face. He wasn't- was he? Giyu felt powerless and weak as he stared below him. He was dangling over the face of Shinazugawa...
" You'll feel much better after the powernap, I promise."
Sanemi opened his mouth slowly, strands of saliva connected from top to bottom jaw, the pointed canines white and reflected any light that filtered through the house.
The dark abyss, known as the throat, stared back at him. The pink walls pulsing with life and greed, the tongue, although just a muscle, dangled over the sharp canines with drool slipping down to the floor. He couldn't move...
Giyu was lowered, body frozen and unresponsive. His body was tense as the maw got closer and closer. He felt himself start to shiver, the realization slowly hitting him in the back of the head.
Saliva coated his feet after Shinazugawa closed his lips gently around Giyu's ankles, tongue pulled back into the cavern from where it came from and the purple eyes staring at him with a softness unlike anything he had seen from him... The difference in temperature was the first thing that he noticed and felt. It was cold outside but warm inside the cavern made up of flesh, saliva and keratin.
He was slowly pulled into the cavern bit by bit, the lips cushioning the hard surface of teeth he thought could cut him in half. But Sanemi was so careful and gentle that it was unbelievably shocking. It was as if he had done this before, seeing as he was being extremely careful and did this with experience he had no idea Sanemi haf.
When his head wad all that was left, the lips parted and the tongue escorted him inside. A soft click was heard behind him as he was fully inside and on the powerful muscle. Although powerful, the muscle was gentle when it sensed him ontop of it.
Sanemi was being careful and gentle... very gentle. He made sure to not move him around in his maw like some toy- no. He was keeping Giyu perfectly still and let the saliva drip from the roof onto him. There were a few occasions where the muscle gently shifted him into a puddle of saliva, but nothing too extreme.
He felt... at ease. But he kept his guard up, despite the feeling of being safe. Safe as in safe from anything. It didn't matter what it was that could pose as a threat to him, he felt safe. He was thoroughly soaked in saliva, the warm air made him a bit drowsy...
Sanemi felt Giyu's body relax, humming softly as if satisfied that he was relaxing. He tilted his head gently, allowing gravity to carefully bring Giyu closer to his throat. He was hoping it would go smoothly, seeing as Giyu was his destined prey.
And it did go smoothly. He could feel Giyu slip in his throat and make small movements. The small squirming in his throat felt satisfying, if not nice. He gave a quick but gentle swallow, pulling Giyu further in his throat. An unnoticeable bulge formed in his throat as Giyu began to slide down the tunnel with ease, due to the thick layer of saliva that coated him.
Sanemi swallowed again, feeling the small form of Giyu slide down his throat and instinctively used a hand to trace the lump right where Giyu was destined to go to: His stomach. Sanemi shivered at the sensation of a small morsel being gently deposited in the depths of his body, protected by layers of fat and flesh.
He tilted his head to look at his middle, carefully getting up while his right hand remained on his stomach. He grew a bit worried from Giyu's lack of movement and began questioning whether he turned off his digestive system or not. Fear began to creep up his spine until he felt movement. Weak, but still felt by the walls of flesh from the organ his boyfriend rested in. He felt relief flood through his being.
" Giyu?"
" Hm?"
Fuck- he sounded tired. That hum was almost too quiet to hear, but he managed to make out the noise. He let out a breath he didn't know he was holding, finally at ease.
" Nevermind. You rest up while I attend the meeting. I'll explain to you wh-"
He stopped himself when he felt the small form relax and could barely make out the sound of soft breathing. He felt a smile grow on his face but quickly replaced it with his usual expression. He had to head to the Headquarters now if he wanted to arrive 15 minutes early.
" Fuck- I forgot about the damn meeting."
He breathed out and began to make his way to the Headquarters, all while he was comforted with the knowledge of Giyu resting without having to deal with that constant nightmare of his he told Sanemi about.
-x-
" Ara~ ara~ Tomioka is late."
" Shinobu, please calm down. There might be a reason for his sudden absence on the day of a meeting!"
" This is unflashy of him."
Sanemi heard all of the commotion and conversations that happened around him. All while he knew exactly where Giyu was and why he was abscent on the day of the meeting.
" He thinks he is better than us."
Iguro spoke, pointing at nothing in particular.
" He isn't here because of his selfish nature, thinking he is better than us."
" Obanai~ That is a bit rude, don't you agree?"
" I agree with Obanai."
" There was no need to voice your beliefs, Shinazugawa."
He rolled his eyes at Kocho's words to prove a point, making it as believable as possible. He didn't need a sea of Hashiras swarm around him like bees to ask what's wrong. He would much rather have Giyu do that than them.
" His ' I am different.' attitude is pissing me off."
" Please refrain yourself from swearing."
Gyomei's voice bellowed as he spoke, eyes narrowed slightly.
" There is no need to speak so lowly of our fellow comrade. He is a Pillar like us and we will treat him with respect too."
" The Master is here."
Everyone bowed respectfully, not daring to lift their head until the Master himself said so. Sanemi was grateful that he was the one to be able to take care of Giyu, even if it is in the most odd ways of doing so.
...
He didn't pay much attention to the meeting, but paid attention to the weight resting in his stomach. The small Giyu that slept soundly inside the organ that could kill, but refused to. He'll let him rest however long he wanted to... He deserved it after not eating for 6 days and sleeping problems.
Now he had to get Genya to sleep once he was back home. And knowing his brother, it would also require the same special treatment Giyu was getting.
What a lovely way to begin and end his day.

A/N = I started working on this a while ago. Like, maybe 3 or 4 weeks. I can see Giyuu going either way on the “making love” or “fucking”. Depending on what mood he’s in, I think he can be pretty gentle or pretty crazy. Either mood is fine with me, I mean, come on now.
C/W = Language, "making love" {I know, ew lol}, mentions of dying but only because things are so good - not literally, oral - both ways, as always, please let me know if I flubbed anything and I’ll fix it.
NSFW under the cut.
Under The Moon
His arms were wrapped so tightly around your waist that it almost hurt.
"Why ... why did you have to go and fucking say that? I told you to never say those words to me."
Giyuu loosened his grip on you and his eyes trailed to the full moon.
"I - I don't care. I will love you until the day my body is nothing more than ash.
Giyuu took a step back from you and put his hands over his face, rubbing the beginnings of tears from his deep blue eyes.
"Come here, please." He said. Though it didn't really sound like a request to you. So you walked a few steps to him and he took your face in his hands.
"What ...?" You asked. The look on his face was so hard to read. You took your chances and leaned in to kiss his lips.
"Y - Y/n. I don't want to -"
"Shut up, Giyuu. Just, just shut up."
You took his sword, that alone was a bold move, and sat it against the nearby tree. Untying his haori you slid your arms into his warmth. Despite the cold, winter air around you, his body was so hot.
He didn't kiss you back at first. For a while, actually. You feel more alone right now with him than you do sometimes when he's gone.
Finally, he started to move his mouth against yours. It was so slow and soft at first that you almost didn't notice through your hard, brazen kisses.
You would do whatever you had to to get him to accept your fates are intertwined.
"Gi- Giyuu ... I w- ... I want you ..." Those words spilling out over the now open mouthed kisses seemed to hit something deep within the stoic Hashira.
He got down on his knees and lifted your kimono to bare your thighs.
"Fuck ... so beautiful." He whispered as his tongue dipped in and out of the soft flesh of your legs.
Your head fell back as his hands ran up under the silky fabric that still covered your ass. He pressed his face into your covered cunt and kissed you. More willingly than he kissed your face.
You reached to untie your kimono and he pushed your hands away.
"Mm-mm. I'll do that when I'm ready." He said in a deep voice.
And so, it was under the starry sky, under the watchful eye of the Gods, that Giyuu accepted your love for him.
He moved so slowly. Like there was no other place in the world he'd rather be. Giyuu took his time as he pushed himself into you. His pace was so torturous, even though he was slow, he was still hard as steel and stretched you out like nothing you've ever felt before.
"Hnnghh - fuck, Giyuu! Please!" You cried out to the sky.
Giyuu didn't say a word. He simply put his arms around you and rolled his hips into yours. You're sure he slowed down. He's memorizing how you feel. You don't mind, not right now. You feel like the moon herself, with the way he's looking at you.
Giyuu starts to pick up the pace and you feel that fire ignite inside of you. His grunts and groans grow in volume as he takes his time and drives you nearly wild.
He fucks you so slowly your voice broke under the strain. You were shaking with your second orgasm as Giyuu released deep inside of you.
You both sat there in the silence of the night. Giyuu's warm breath fell across your skin as you watched the stars move. You felt as if you'd die before morning. You were certain you would.
The two of you got dressed, then headed back to your rooms. He didn't say anything as he helped you prepare for bed.
You laid in bed, on your side and watched Giyuu dress for the night, before he had to leave for his weeks long mission. It broke your heart that he'd be gone for so long.
He didn't say anything, but the look in his eyes made you think he had the same exact thought.
He kissed your lips, your cheek, and forehead before leaving for the foreseeable future.
You spent the first week miserable. You could hardly sleep, you spent a lot of your free time thinking about him and worrying about him.
There were times when you would look up at the sky and swear you could see the outline of a man dancing through the treetops.
The second week was a little better, but you were still constantly thinking about him, hoping for a message from a crow to arrive, or hoping he'd get home a little early.
Week three was just as bad, but it was starting to feel like a bad dream. You began to wonder if you had hallucinated the whole thing. Maybe you were so desperate for his touch that you imagined it.
You felt like your body was betraying you.
He was supposed to be back the following morning. You sat in the kitchen and ate a little rice to keep yourself occupied.
You heard the loud and heavy footsteps of Sanemi as he walked past you.
"You look like shit." He said.
You just gave him a blank stare, you didn't really have the energy for anything more than that.
"Tch. I'll let you know when someone actually gives a shit about what you think." He muttered before walking off.
You weren't expecting the two Hashira that walked through the doors of the butterfly manor. You stood up from your place at the kitchen table and walked over to them, trying not to let your fear show.
"Hello ... we received word that you were the one who took the last mission on your own." Shinobu said.
You just nodded your head.
"We would like to have a word with you about it, if you have the time."
Again, you just nodded.
"It was a difficult mission and took longer than you probably anticipated." She started. "And I have a feeling it's not the last.
You knew she was going somewhere with this and it made you uneasy.
"However, the information you gathered, the leads you managed to acquire, it's a huge help. With the new intel, we've been able to figure out where the last demon is hiding out."
The smile on her face was so slight you almost missed it. But when it happened, it was something that took your breath away.
You didn't know what to do. You were so happy you could cry.
"Soo, hey! ... where's Giyuu?" You asked, trying to sound casual.
Shinobu raised an eyebrow and Mitsuri gave you a confused look.
"He should be here within the hour." Shinobu answered.
It was a while after she left when he arrived. You could somehow hear his light steps all the way from the main hall.
"H-hi ..." You said, trying to smile.
"Hey ..." He said back.
He was quiet as he walked to your room. You looked at him and realized he looked different. His cheeks were slightly red, there was a light in his eyes you'd never seen before.
You looked down at the floor and blushed. "So ... do you want to talk about your mission?" You said.
Giyuu looked at you and shrugged. "I think we should talk about something else."
You didn't really want to argue with him, so you gave in and went to bed.
The next week was amazing. Giyuu spent almost all of it with you, he never left your side unless he absolutely had to.
You'd seen him smile more in the last week than in the previous six months combined.
He came back to your room late one night and sat on your bed.
"What's wrong?" You asked.
"I ... I know you probably think I'm crazy, but I ... I love you, Y/n."
Your heart started to beat so loud in your chest you felt it shake your entire body.
You looked at him and said "You're not crazy ... I love you too, Giyuu."
His face was red, you'd never seen him like this before.
"I - I want to make love to you ... I want to be inside you again.
"I - I ... please." You stammered.
"No - I want it to be special. And not before I have to leave you for weeks on end. We need to wait, though ... we can't. We need to wait until it's just right ... I'm so sorry ..." He said. His voice sounded so broken.
He crawled into bed with you, he wanted to hold you so bad. But he was afraid he would ruin everything if he didn't keep his distance. The heat your body put off as he was near you was almost too much for him to bear. He had to find a way to stifle his unrelenting need for you.
It took him a week of cold showers to calm himself down. It felt like he was going insane. He couldn't stop thinking about you, no matter how hard he tried.
You didn't go to bed until well past midnight. You laid there and stared at the ceiling. You were so in love with Giyuu it felt like it was going to swallow you whole. You closed your eyes and let your mind wander.
The two of you have never talked much about your previous relationships. But you knew he'd had a few and he knew you had none.
It wasn't something either of you needed to say out loud. It was written all over your face, the way you looked at each other, how your hands fit together when you held each other.
He was so deep inside your mind, your heart, and your soul you couldn't help but think, you never wanted him out.
You felt a strong pair of hands on your hips and the heat of his chest on your back.
You could feel his hot breath on your neck. You turned around to see that Giyuu was kneeling on the floor behind you.
You tried to sit up but he put a hand to the center of your chest and pushed you back down on the bed. He started to undo the sash that held your sleeping yukata together.
"Giyuu ..." You said. You weren't sure what you were going to say. But you felt like you had to say something. So you said his name.
He opened the front of your kimono and the chill of the air caused you to shiver. Giyuu put his hands on your stomach and then your breasts. He moved down your body and pushed the cloth down your arms.
"Mm, Giyuu ..." You whined softly, covering your eyes with your arm. You felt him part your legs and lift them over his shoulder. He put his mouth over you, just like you were a woman dying of thirst and he was water.
You bucked against his mouth and whimpered. He pushed his fingers into your opening as he licked your clit. Your hands fell to the bed and you gripped the sheets tightly.
Giyuu looked up at you from between your legs, and you looked back at him. He took his fingers out of you and put them in his mouth. He then reached up and rubbed his thumb against your clit, circling it.
"You taste so good, Y/n ... fuck ..."
Your face was on fire as you watched him. You were getting wetter and wetter. He seemed to take pleasure from the way he could make you writhe around under his touch.
You bunched up the sheets and then started to tug on his hair. You looked up at the ceiling and bit your lip to keep your voice in check. You were so close to an orgasm and he was just getting started.
He moved away, and your body fell around him, disappointed at the lack of his touch.. He hovered over you, pushing your kimono away from your body.
You sat up on your elbows and watched him as he stood and undid his own yukata.
"Giyuu, I ..." Again, you weren't sure what you wanted to say, you knew you loved him, but you couldn't find the right words to say it.
"I know, Y/n. It's ok, I ... I want to make love to you now." He said in a low voice. He lay back down next to you, rubbing his fingers over the small of your back.
You reached out for him and ran your fingers through his hair, then you moved down his body and pushed his yukata off.
You crawled up to straddle his thighs. He put his hands on your hips and helped you move. You kissed his neck, then down to his chest. You spent time there, sucking his nipples until he was squirming and whining under you.
You sat up and ran your fingers down his abdomen until you found his cock. You started to stroke it and his eyes rolled back in his head.
You had seen Giyuu hard and soft many times. But you'd never seen him like this. The man that had never laughed, that you had never seen truly cry, the man that had always been so cold and detached was now gasping and moaning under you. Begging you for more.
You scooted off the bed and got down on your knees. You licked the length of his dick, then swirled your tongue around the head. He threw his head back and let out a deep groan. You took him into your mouth and bobbed your head slowly up and down.
He was so much bigger than you expected. You gagged on him a little as he hit the back of your throat.
He was moaning and twitching underneath you as you worked him. His hands moved to your head and he started to push your head down a little bit.
"Mm ... fuck. Y/n ... Y/n, I -" He said through gritted teeth. You looked up at him and he was panting, his cheeks red, a few beads of sweat sliding down his forehead.
He pulled his hips up off the bed and you took your mouth away from him. You lowered your chin and let a little spit fall from your lips to between your breasts and started to stroke him with them.
"Hhhaaa- ahh - Y/n, fuck! Please -" He groaned out.
You knew what he was asking for and you wanted it as much as he did.
You pulled his cock from your chest and sat down on his thighs. You were a little embarrassed to say that you enjoyed the way he moaned at the whole thing.
You pushed your hips forward, you had to steady yourself a little before you sank down onto him. Your hands rested on his chest to keep your balance.
You sat there for a while, enjoying the way he stretched you out, how warm and hard he felt.
You slowly started to move and you bit your lip as you looked down at him. His fingers were gripping your thighs, his mouth was slightly open and he was looking up at you, his eyes moving from your eyes to your mouth and then down to your bouncing breasts.
You started to move faster, you could feel that pressure building again and you felt so alive you thought you'd die.
"Hah - ahh ... Giyuu, you feel so good." You said. He lifted his hips up and slammed them into you. He was moving in you now, his eyes closed and his teeth clenched.
"Giyuu - Giyuu, I'm so close -" You whined. You could feel it. You were so fucking close.
"Mmm - I love you ... Y/n ... I love you." He said. He put a hand between your legs and rubbed your clit, causing you to let out a deep cry.
You were so close, and he knew it. He could feel your warm, wet pussy clench and wrap around him tighter and tighter.
He watched your body shake with the intensity of the orgasm and felt you spilling over his cock.
He took hold of your waist and flipped you over onto your stomach. You tried to brace yourself against the bed, but he was too quick for you.
You could feel the weight of his body against your back. His arms wrapped around you and his hips pressed into you.
He pushed his cock back into you, making you cry out with pleasure. He started to move in you fast and deep, panting against your neck.
"Fuck, Giyuu, that feels so good ..." You said. He was moving faster, and he was going deeper than before, you didn't know what to do except try to brace yourself as he moved inside of you.
His hot breath against the back of your neck as he slammed into you was sinful. He took hold of one of your legs and pushed it up so that he had an even better angle.
You started to make all kinds of noises. It felt so good, he felt so good you were starting to feel another orgasm coming on. You bit your lip and looked up at the ceiling as Giyuu fucked you
"I'm gonna cum, Y/n, I'm gonna cum inside of you -" He said in a strained voice. He pushed himself deep inside you and you felt him release. His hot, sticky cum filled your tight hole. He fucked you through his orgasm and yours, then he collapsed on the bed.
He held you in his arms for a while, running his fingers up and down your body. Then he got up and cleaned both of you. Then, he came back to bed and pulled you into his arms.
"That was amazing ..." You whispered. You were tired and it was hard to get words out.
"Yeah ..." Giyuu agreed. He didn't know if he could fall asleep yet. He wasn't ready to let you out of his sight just yet.
"Did you ... did you mean what you said? Before, did you mean what you said when we were making love?" He asked.
You turned in his arms so that you were facing him, his face was so close to yours you could feel his hot breath on your lips.
"Every word." You said.
He didn't say anything else. He kissed you softly and you felt the tears rolling down your cheeks.
Giyuu didn't cry. He felt much stronger with you by his side.
"I love you, Giyuu." You said, hoping your voice wasn't as shaky as your hands.
He looked at you, he looked at your face. You were so beautiful to him. He took hold of your chin and tilted it towards his.
He kissed you, and when you kissed back you felt like your heart would explode into a million pieces. His kiss was slow and soft, like the moon shining on your face, you felt like you were a part of him and he was a part of you.
"I love you too, Y/n." He whispered, resting his forehead against yours. "I'm never gonna stop loving you."
You both drifted off to sleep together.

𝐖𝐀𝐓𝐄𝐑 𝐋𝐈𝐋𝐘 — 𝐠𝐢𝐲𝐮 𝐭𝐨𝐦𝐢𝐨𝐤𝐚
giyu and water lilies have much in common; ft. self conscious giyu! 📝 gn! reader. little hurt to comfort, mostly fluff. didn’t proofread, umm didn’t like the execution for this… for the vitamin u event!
word count : 800+
𝙉𝙊𝙒 𝙋𝙇𝘼𝙔𝙄𝙉𝙂 . . . 𝘚𝘗𝘈𝘊𝘌 𝘚𝘖𝘕𝘎 (𝘚𝘗𝘌𝘋 𝘜𝘗) — 𝘉𝘌𝘈𝘊𝘏 𝘏𝘖𝘜𝘚𝘌
water lilies are known to symbolize many things. they can also be associated with the person you love most in so many aspects.
resurrection. water lilies shut themselves at night only to open up again in the morning, and some people believe in the symbolism of resurrection because of the flowers emerging from the murky waters of their home into the light of the rays of the sun.
it reminds you of your closest friend, giyu, in the way that he had happiness before—the innocence of being a child, so distant from any bad thing that could affect his reality only to be crushed completely at the death of his best friend. that happiness, though never in its old form, came back when he met you, resurrected from within after so many years of denying it. his happiness, in a way, had resurrected. different, but the same warm feeling nonetheless.
“…you spend so much time with me.”
you pick at another weak flower, putting its petals precariously in his hair. you save the stronger flowers as a whole to put securely on top of his head. giyu holds his own water lily, red in color. he doesn’t do anything with it, though. he just holds it in his hands, resting them on his thighs.
“is that a bad thing?” you question.
“not necessarily,” he responds, “i just think you could spend your days doing something more… productive…than spending time with me of all people.”
“what brought this on?” you glance at him, seeing his eyes staring at the water, the flower, anywhere but you. he was beautiful.
beauty. there’s something about the way those flowers rest in the places they live; simply floating on pond surfaces with their petals stuck together like a living community living near other groups of communities, with their multiple colors characterized as different symbolisms and the calmness they seem to exude.
giyu’s pretty, handsome—any praiseworthy words complimenting his looks. but it’s not all about that, is it? his personality’s certainly unique than that of his fellow comrades. albeit rather stuck in the past, he’s quite the worrywart for people he cares about, even if at first he can be a bit mean and forlorn (although, before you’d met him, the “forlorn” part could’ve been pretty accurate…). he’s kind, gentle, and calm—beauty rarely found outside and inside a person, even if he can rarely notice it himself.
“someone told me to stop wasting your time. i’m beginning to think they’re right,” giyu places the flower in his hands into the water, watching as the wind carries it away from him as petals fly from his hair to the surface in tow.
“who told you that?” you ask, surprised at the disinterested look on his face. you expected much, but after all this time… maybe you’d hoped that he’d be a little more interested in wanting your interactions to not end.
“it doesn’t mat—”
“giyu.”
he stays silent for a hot few seconds before admitting, his eyes semi-closing as he opens his mouth a few times before managing to speak. “it…it was just a feeling. mixed with some comments i’ve heard from the other hashiras.”
you don’t push on the matter of who said what further, instead opting to be nearer on the matter of keeping his hopes alive that you want to be with him.
“do you want our meetings to stop?”
he sighs. “…no. of course not.” you both watch as the red water lily from before bumps into him, his hands reluctantly reaching to lift it up again.
“that’s good,” you exhale in relief, “then i’m free to continue spending time with you—not wasting it, there’s a difference—without anyone stopping me.”
your conclusion made him think that what he’d just proposed was silly. you both sat for a few minutes in silence, you looking for something as giyu sat staring at the water lily in his palms.
he snapped out of his trance when he felt you put a flower on his head, hearing you softly laugh as you tucked and moved his hair this way and that to hold it in place.
“…i love you.” he murmured.
enlightenment.
you froze once you processed those words, giyu wincing and his eyes widening once he registered what he’d uttered.
it can mean understanding. whether that be understanding the many meanings and symbolisms from one of july’s flowers to understanding the people around you.
you slowly smiled, moving your hands from the delicate flower to his shoulders, kneeling in order to hug him and whisper, “i love you too,” to him.
it reminds you of giyu in the way that you spent awhile to recognize his pains of what had happened to him and how those horrors had trailed and haunted him to his adulthood. how you deciphered his emotions through his stoic shield of protection. how you took the time to really understand him, to get to this point.
he carefully guided your head to face him, his lips ineptly finding yours as you helped him through the process, the red water lily set next to him as he embraced you fully.
red water lilies symbolize pure love. it’s just another reason why these particular flowers remind you so much of the person you loved most.

💧—————————————————————💧
He trudged along the worn out pavement track to their home. Each step was heavy with the burden he bore as a hashira, one of humanity’s beacons of hope that would eradicate the plague of demons.
Giyu had returned from a mission and was given the time off for completing it — though the time he would receive was short as it was intended for his recovery, he was thankful to have time he could dedicate to his beloved.
Though they weren’t married, he certainly viewed them as his spouse as they were his motivation to move forward and continue the fight.
He thought frequently of how he felt at home in their arms. The gentle caresses and soft words they would give to him when he was feeling doubt in himself, the smile they’d kindly give him when they were in his presence and the warmth they radiated that allowed him to feel vulnerable and emotional.
Often he felt undeserving of the golden heart they carried yet he wanted to preserve it for himself. He felt that they would be better off without someone like him in their life, that they would be better off with someone they could peacefully grow old with and live a normal life with, not with someone who was at the risk of being killed.
Giyu didn’t want them to feel the lingering sense of dread and overwhelming sadness of knowing there was a chance he would never come back one day. Yet he couldn’t bring himself to let them go, not the sunlight that gave him a sense of home.
He knew they would be home because they lived as an ordinary person — a simple herbal medication expert, who hopefully would never have to see bloodshed. He prayed that the day they had to wield a sword and carry a similar burden he did would never come.
As he approached the home, he felt his body grow heavy. He hadn’t realized just how tired he truly was: slaying demons night after night, the things he had seen of slaughtered humans — sometimes he couldn’t wrap his mind on how the human body could be destroyed so easily and yet his expression never changed.
Sapphire blue eyes remained dull at the sight of human agony but it lit the fire in him to destroy demons, the sword he held and swung was the only thing he could do for them in the end.
He opened the sliding door of the small wooden home, quietly stepping inside and heading towards the other side that led to the garden.
Giyu felt the emotional weight lift off his shoulders at the delicate sight of them. Their hair was pinned out of their face with the help of a pin he had given them, a plain slightly worn yukata with the sleeves held back with a thin ribbon tied behind them, soft stains of dirt and water coated the front of the f/c fabric, a look of concentration etched onto their face as they diligently wrote a small note before stuffing it away in their yukata. A small woven bamboo basket filled with harvested herbs neatly bound together and organized was settled beside them as their crouched form plucked out weeds and other unwanted roots into a separate basket for waste.
They stood up with the medicinal herb-filled basket in their hands, a gentle smile on their face while their eyes sparkled at the sight of the vibrant green of incoming blooms and the small purple blossoms on the sprigs of rosemary.
All of their heart was poured into the care they dedicated to their garden as the herbs they grew and harvested were made into various types of medicines that healed local villagers and even some of the demon slayers that would visit them.
Their shoulders seemingly stiffened but immediately relaxed at sensing a familiar presence behind them before quickly turning to face the person.
The basket fell from their hands as they caught sight of Giyu’s disheveled battle worn form. Tears formed in the corners of their eyes, it had been a while since they had last seen him.
“Giyu!” Their voice was laced with shock and some form of happiness at seeing him again as they took hurried steps towards him.
He smiled lightly, a faint glimmer of hope in his eyes as he took a few steps towards them to close the gap and practically collapsed in their arms as they reached him.
Giyu inhaled the soft floral aroma that stained their yukata. He knew from the scent that they had been harvesting the lavender stalks and roses that grew in order to start their drying process.
His own arms embraced their frame as he nuzzled his face into their shoulder. Sapphire eyes became glossy with tears as he held them close.
“I’m home.”

GENDER: Gender Neutral Reader
WARNINGS: Yandere Tendencies, Gore, and Inappropriate Language
CHARACTER: Giyu Tomioka
WORD COUNT: 775
F/N - Friends Name
The iron gate, rusted and raucous, furthered the ghostliness of the graveyard it guarded. It shrieks as your friend nudges it open with their forearm, illuminating the gravestones and leafless trees with their flashlight.
“I wonder, how many people are dead in this graveyard?” F/N queried, stepping forward.
“Hopefully all of them…” You quavered, trailing behind them.
F/N had mentioned ghost hunting to you, you weren't too optimistic about it as they were but you still timidly accompanied them. You both roamed around, peering behind headstones and contemplating your environment for any indications of the paranormal world.
'Snap!'
You yelped and your body jerked into F/N's.
“Get the spirit box!”
You slipped the bag from your shoulders, unzipping it with hesitant hands, and probed around until you found the equipment. “Here.”
F/N flicks the box on, a harsh white noise comes from its speakers, and they ask a question.
“Who is there-”
“Run,” a voice shouts from the spirit box, "he's coming!"
A frisson of fear crept from your face and down to your spine as many voices spoke at once.
“Leave!"
“Leave!”
“LEAVE NOW!”
Then dead silence.
“I think we should leave F/N.” You stammered, stepping away from the box.
They huff and roll their eyes. “Fine, since you wanna be a big fucking baby.”
“How can you not be terrified at..what-”
Your eyes widened and your heart began to thrum wildly against your chest as you stared petrified behind them; lurking behind them was a figure, a masculine figure. His skin was unnaturally pale, as if he was lifeless, and his veins protruded just beneath his skin. His dark hair matted with turf, along with his tattered clothing. With sullen eyes, he glared menacingly down at F/N.
You raised a finger and pointed at the ominous being.
“What is it, Y/N!?”
Before you could even utter a word, the monster's teeth tore through the skin of her neck—ripping out her jugular. Blood spatter ubiquitously; dripping down your face and into your mouth, dousing your hair, and decorating your clothes and the ground.
A scream erupts from your throat, eyes widening with terror and tears, before your legs removed you from the danger that stood before you.
You smeared the blood from your face, breathing erratically as you shove past the forestry and hissed as thorns shred through your clothes and skin. Suddenly you stopped, listening, and then plunged into some shrubbery. Your hands clasped around your mouth as the distant groans became near—out of all the possibilities, it had to be the living dead.
You pleaded mentally for a good outcome, but not all wishes are granted and you were quickly snatched from your hideaway.
"Please," you sobbed, "please don't kill me!"
The zombie snickers, his clouded eyes browsing over your distressed appearance. "Who said I was?"
"You ate my friend, so why wouldn't you do the same to me!?" You shouted as you struggled in his bruising grasp.
"Oh sorry, I was a little hungry." He grinned, showing his blood stained teeth.
Your mouth parted, unsettled, as more tears coursed down your cheeks.
"If it makes you feel better, I'm not gonna eat you." He rolled his eyes, dragging you along with him.
You looked past him, watching as the dense fog lessened and exposed a dilapidated shed.
You pulled at your arm once more, almost tripping as you two stepped up the stairs, but it was no use.
"Please," you begged once again, "please let me go!"
He slammed the door behind him before releasing you, observing you as the ethereal light of the moon doused you. His tongue ran over his chapped lips as he limped towards you.
"You look so delicious covered in their blood, it makes me hungry again." He sighs, scratching his head before plopping down beside you.
You flinch away and huddle close to the dry rotted wall, crying silently.
"I've been so lonely, but not anymore…now that you're here! I haven't felt my heart beat in years, but here it is fluttering like it's alive—it's strange but I like it." He confessed as he placed a hand over his heart, the clothing crinkling as he gripped it.
"What's going to happen to me?" You spoked, almost as if you were whispering.
"You're going to be mine until time ends for you."
Your lower lip wobbled, staring agape. "I refuse, you just ate my friend and I don't know you-"
"Giyu Tomioka." He interrupted, tilting his head. "Your name?"
"Y/N," you frowned.

No One Told Me???
Giyu's haori...
Is the same pattern and color as Sabito's kimono (correct me if I'm wrong. I think it's kimono but I'm not sure)
And this is what Giyu's haori looked like when he was younger and enduring his training.
👀
Spoilers below for chapter 130 and beyond.
I'm supposing that after Sabito died, Giyu ripped the pieces of clothing and stitched Sabito's haori with his.
Maybe he did this put of respect, maybe out of regret, or perhaps both... but how am I only noticing now?!
Giyu is such a thoughtful guy, and very warm on the inside ☹
