Knuckles and technology headcanon
I think Knuckles would have difficulty using advanced technology due to his upbringing up on Angel Island in the heart of nature.
He would probably have difficulty using a computer or a smartphone. When typing he would press one key at a time (hunt and peck method) ,which means he would type very slowly. If the computer freezes he has absolutely zero idea what to do and has to ask Tails for help.
Partially as a result of his poor computer skills, he isn't big on social media. He finds most social media to be too complicated and distracting. The most he would do is occasionally post pictures of interesting thing he saw on Angel Island(mostly for his friends). He wouldn't be big on the whole social networking , chatting online, or acquiring loads of followers thing. He simply wouldn't see the point and view it as a waste of time.
Knux prefers older tech, he would prefer using VCRs and dumbphones to DVDs and Smartphones.
He would also strongly dislike VR headsets , especially since they give him motion sickness and confuse him. If someone put one on his head he would tear it off and throw it away.

Gatoslip now has S&K lock-on features
For awhile I knew that S&K checked for the attached cartridge's header to execute it's code, but little did I know just how far one could go beyond just allowing a full version of Blue Spheres...
For this in particular, I put a dummy Sonic 2 header around the 3MB mark (game is too large and won't mirror) and exploit the fact it uses Sonic 2's Sound Driver loading routine by having code that hijacks the gamemode address table and runs its own code on top.
And I can go further than just a simple mock scene before Blue Spheres :

When you fit S2 into S&K, you get KtEiS2
When you fit Gatoslip into S&K, you get P&K

random thought but if Knux was isolated he wouldn't get a lot of sicknesses from other people so wouldn't he struggle if he caught something real bad he never had contact with
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Mhm, that would be a problem though I'd like to point out a couple things that would probably make this not a big problem for Knuckles. Plus, he isn't completely isolated per say...we saw that most of his 'problems' came more from social interactions and norms, rather than a lack of knowledge of other things. To add; 1) Flickies and other avian critters seem to be the norm; it wouldn't surprise me if during any of their migrations or such that they have carried various viruses or such back to Angel Island. And given Knuckles does care for the critters of the island, it very likely he'd caught things from them here and there. 2) Echidna's seem to have some form of advancements; which if we go by the cultures they were based off wouldn't be too surprising that they'd have medicine that can treat such viruses and such. So, it would have to be something extremely foreign or never dealt with for Knuckles to get deadly sick or ill. 3) Given that Knuckles seems very atoned to the Master Emerald and has a strong bond with it, it wouldn't surprise me that because of that bond that the Master Emerald had helped in someway boost his immunity and resistance to viruses and such. Think in a similar vein to Shadow I guess; not to the same extent but a somewhat similar situation to a degree. There are many other factors I can add; but I think overall Knuckles wouldn't be in too much trouble when it comes to illnesses or such. After all, we have seen he rarely leaves the island and places he does visit would probably have herd immunity. For something to effect him or such, it have to be something new on a grand scale or such... And cute lil' HC that his friends probably had him get vaccinate just encase cause you know...they care and want him to be healthy.

What if Sonic took Knuckles to an arcade and made him try Virtual Reality games? Would Knuckles think it's sorcery?
*sighs and sips drink*
for the last time, just because Knuckles is from an island and has had no contact with the outside world before Sonic and Eggman, it doesn’t mean he’s going to think everything technological is witchcraft or is primitive. He’s unfamiliar with technology, but interacts with it fairly often in game canon, ie Sonic Riders and doesn’t comment.
and I also believe he’d get a headache from the lights and sounds and experience of the arcade alone and generally have bad stimuli with the whole experience. “streaking lights, loud sounds and instinct / are the elements that keep me going”; he doesn’t like lights and loud sounds due to his isolation.
besides which, I believe Sonic would pay attention to his friend’s likes and dislikes and would immediately pull him out of any situation that would make him uncomfortable.

a pet peeve i have with sonic 2 is not in the movie itself, but whenever people call knuckles a villain. yes, he’s antagonistic for the first two-third’s of the movie, but he’s not a bad guy
YEAH i remember when the first trailer came out everyone was calling knuckles the new villain or whatever and it annoyed me a lot because like. it was so obvious that he wasnt actually gonna be the villain of the story. a lot of stuff in that movie is very predictable if you know anything about the games and knuckles not actually being evil is one of them. im just gonna assume that anyone who was calling knuckles the villain at the time had never played a sonic game in their life. however if those people are still calling knuckles the villain after actually watching the movie then they have no excuse anymore they clearly werent paying attention

Imagine a Prehistoric Documentary that starts with a hunched over, knuckle-dragging Fur Loincloth Caveman pointlessly banging two rocks together while the calm-voiced narrator keeps going on about how back in the stone age, people did not have the advantages of modern technology like we do. Neanderthals, like this one here, did not have a written language, never invented the wheel, never progressed to agriculture or animal domestication. And as they never built permanent structures for habitation, they never had villages. They, however, made do with what they had. Without villages, naturally never had an official village idiot, but they did have a nominated Clan Idiot. Like our friend Grog right here.
Then the camera moves away from the Caveman Banging Rocks Together to reveal a neat and civilised, well-dressed fur clad tribe of hunter-gatherer neanderthals, wearing bone jewellery and expertly crafted stone tools, looking at the first guy in disgust. One of them is eating a mix of nuts and dried berries from a woven bag like it's popcorn.

OK Guys. I get the skepticism esp after the Knuckles disaster, but we also need to keep in mind "this is a trailer that won't spoil literally everything about the movie." ESPECIALLY in regards to GUN. They're not gonna put in the trailer "the military shot a little girl and that's why Shadow is mad so Sonic is going to never work with them ever." That's a great way to get parents to bring their kids to the theater, especially in America. (/s)
It's WAY more effective as a plot twist halfway through, where Sonic thinks that he's finally being accepted onto Earth via working with the government only to find out that they're exploiting him and Shadow the same. I can't guarantee this is gonna happen obviously but it's like a 90% chance just knowing how, like. writing works.
Esp considering the government has not had a good track record in the last two movies, I dunno if they'd do a heel-face turn into "actually they were always right" in the movie where a little girl needs to get shot by the government.
And I'm not gonna say "trust and form a parasocial relationship with a film director" but we should keep in mind that Jeff Fowler got his start working on Shadow's title game and has stated in interviews that he understands how important Shadow's backstory is to his character. Not to mention how the internet has been exploding the last two years with enthusiasm over this story actually getting shown onscreen, enough that a studio would fucking notice at the very least that this is what the people want. I can't guarantee they'll actually listen, but saying that they're absolutely not because "Sonic was in a GUN helicopter in the trailer" is insane. Especially with the fact that GUN is not with Sonic when he goes to Eggman. We just see Team Sonic alone meeting with Stone, and I will bet you it's because there's no way in hell GUN would let them near him, what with the Robotnik connections to the ARK.
Also the Gerald thing is rather worrying, esp with the lack of shit they gave Pachacamac in the miniseries, but honestly I think that was just a marketing push of "Jim Carrey will be playing TWO characters!!!" Considering he's only seen in one trailer scene AT the ARK (where all of Gerald's technology was and, more importantly, where the Eclipse cannon he needs someone to set off is) AND we know from movie 2's credits scene that there was a fifty-year timeskip, I severely doubt that's the real Gerald who's just completely unaffected by his granddaughter being murdered.
And ofc there's things to be concerned about in the trailer. The lack of Rouge for instance– I obviously keep posting my theory that Krysten Ritter's character will be her undercover but the fact we don't know how much time she'd actually have with Shadow, if at ALL, is worrying. The fact that Rouge might not be here period. The weird pacing of the Knuckles show and the fear that could bleed over into the movie. But there's also stuff to get excited about– the epic fight scene choreography, the brief glimpse we got of Maria and Shadow's bond. Reeves's voice actually fits Shadow and at least from what the trailer showed us it looks like the Green Hills storyline is taking a backseat to the action and mystery of Project Shadow.
tl;dr guys calm down for like five minutes. if the movie sucks in december we can riot then. right now let's just band together against mufasa

Request: Hey!! I just saw the Video of Carlos and his father driving hot laps together. Could you maybe write one where Carlos is doing it with his girlfriend, but she is the one driving. But he is like super terrified, cause his gf is the definition of passenger princess. Thank you
Of course! Enjoy reading and send me some requests!!!
-XoXo
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Hot Laps
It was a radiant day on the Austin track. The sun was beaming, and not a cloud marred the sky. It was the perfect day for some exhilarating hot laps in a Ferrari, in your opinion. The air was filled with the scent of rubber and gasoline, a symphony of engines roaring in the background, setting the stage for an unforgettable experience.
When the Ferrari media team first approached you and Carlos with the idea of doing some hot laps together during the next race weekend, you were apprehensive. Not that you didn’t trust Carlos with your life. But driving leisurely through the picturesque countryside of Spain and racing at 200 km/h on a track were vastly different experiences. After much persuasion with promises of “Mi amore, I swear I won’t go too fast” and “I promise, I’ll buy you the new Valentino bag when we’re back in Monaco,” he finally convinced you.
However, the moment you both confirmed that you would be doing the hot laps together, Silvia altered the entire plan. “Sorry Carlos, we just think that the fans would enjoy seeing YN drive this time.” And boy, did you love that idea. Now, Carlos was the one hesitating.
You obviously had a driver’s license and your own car, but that didn’t mean you were an exceptional driver. Throughout your relationship, you had proven more than once that you were destined to be the Passenger Princess, rather than the driver. For instance, there was the time when you managed to knock down a road sign. While Carlos sat with a shocked expression next to you, clutching the door handle for dear life, you simply said: “Oopsie daisy,” smiled at him, and continued driving. Or the time when you attempted to parallel park, but after 30 minutes of trying, you had to call him for help.
So one could understand why Carlos was reluctant to let you drive. Now it was your turn to convince Carlos with “I promise I won’t go too fast” and “It will be so much fun, I promise.” What finally swayed him was the promise of “the best sex ever. Throughout the. Whole. Night.”
When the day finally arrived, you were more than ecstatic. The anticipation had been building up, and you could hardly contain your excitement. After the team let you on the track and you were securely strapped into the car (yes, Carlos checked the seatbelt several times), you were finally ready to go. The Ferrari’s interior was a blend of luxury and raw power, the leather seats hugging you tightly as you gripped the steering wheel. The dashboard was a marvel of modern technology, with a digital display that showed every detail of the car’s performance.
You started off slowly, which relaxed Carlos. However, on turn 7, you floored the throttle. “Ay! No, no, no, mi amore. Too quick, too quick!” Carlos screamed. While he tried to grab anything within reach, you were having the time of your life. You drifted and cruised on the track, the tires screeching as you took each turn with increasing confidence. Carlos’s screams of “The wall! The wall!” and “BRAKE!” didn’t deter you from your little joyride.
As you navigated the track, you couldn’t help but feel a rush of adrenaline. The wind whipped through your hair, and the roar of the engine was music to your ears. You glanced over at Carlos, who was gripping the sides of his seat, his knuckles white. His eyes were wide with a mix of fear and amazement, and you couldn’t help but laugh at his reaction. The track’s twists and turns became a thrilling dance, each corner a new challenge that you eagerly embraced.
When you went for the last lap, you went too wide in turn one. Before you could hit the wall, Carlos grabbed the steering wheel, putting the car back on track. While you giggled like a schoolgirl seeing her crush, Carlos muttered: “Querido Dios, por favor dame fuerza y déjanos vivir otro día.”
Finally, the lap was over, and you brought the car to a stop. Carlos immediately undid his seatbelt before jumping out of the car. He lay flat on the track, taking huge breaths of air. You rounded the car, seeing your boyfriend lying on the asphalt. The rest of the team, who had been watching the whole ordeal, were laughing in the background.
“Carlos, why are you lying on the floor?” you asked with a smile, kneeling down next to him. Carlos took your hand before answering seriously: “Mi vida, I love you with my whole heart. But please, never ever drive a car again. You’re the perfect passenger princess, okay.” His request made you laugh so hard that tears escaped your eyes. Perhaps he was right. You ARE the perfect passenger princess.
As you both walked back to the team, Carlos still a bit shaky, you couldn’t help but feel a sense of accomplishment. You had faced your fears and had an unforgettable experience. The team congratulated you, and even Carlos managed a smile, albeit a nervous one. You knew this would be a story you’d both laugh about for years to come.
Later that evening, as you both relaxed in the hotel room, Carlos recounted the day’s events with dramatic flair, making you laugh all over again. The memory of the hot laps became a cherished moment, a testament to your adventurous spirit and the bond you shared. You realized that while you might be the perfect passenger princess, you also had the courage to step out of your comfort zone and create unforgettable memories.

Knuckles what are your thoughts on technology and cities ? Don't ya hate the bright lights of the cities?
Tumblr media
“I don’t hate technology, Tails would probably ‘ave a fit if I did.”
He’s joking of course. Though, his feelings towards technology in general weren’t really good or bad — it was mutual really. It had it’s importance and uses after all, able to make aspects of life simpler for others.
Communication, entertainment, transport — there was plenty of reasons it could be seen as important to a lot of others. It was just, he saw no use to have some or any of the advantages that they had down below and there was truly no real need for most of it on the floating isle. He had what he needed to survive and thrive up on his home.
“Joking aside — “
Tumblr media
“ — I don’t see a need for most o’ t’tech others use, t’island is fine wit’out it. As for cities, I don’t really like crowds ‘n loud noises all t’much. Can ‘andle it if I need t’do so BUT I prefer t’peace ‘n quiet o’ Angel Island more than anythin’ else.”
Shrugging lightly. He wasn’t a fan of cities honestly, the noises made his ears ring at times and it was too crowded for his taste. Plus, the bright lights could be disorientating at times.
“I don’t ‘ate it but I rather avoid cities all together if I can ‘elp it. Save me t’headaches later too.”
