I saw these bootleg "Finding Nemo 2" figurines in a dollar store today. At first glance, there wasn't anything particularly notable about it, besides the yellow Marlin and incorrect sequel name.

But the BACK of the box is where things get weirder…

The back has promo renders of the Finding Nemo characters on it. But the one of Nigel carrying Dory and Marlin in his beak has been edited to have them all be covered in oil!

It turns out this pic and the Finding Nemo 2 logo were swiped from a series of parody posters made by blogger Chibiboto.

The posters were made in 2010 in response to the Gulf of Mexico Oil Spill, highlighting how much damage it had done to the environment. I guess the bootleggers looked up "Finding Nemo 2" on Google, and mistook the Nigel one for a real poster!

More newly found MLP friends(?) fakies found on Argentinian website

Was going through Google photos to look at Fakie My Little Pony merchandise, when I stumbled across a website from Argentina selling vintage MLP Fakes, while looking around and seeing all the authentic Argentinian ponies had been sold out,

I found these guys.

An unknown but newly discovered to me, vintage knockoff, mostly likely not just bootlegging the basic My Little Pony dolls, but also taking the same idea from the “Pony friends” line from the first generation of the 80s MLP toys,

Pony friends being a line of non pony characters supposedly being friends to the pony characters of the official franchise, and some fakes have taken the same concept as well, this one being no different,

Not much else to say, expect the Spanish word “Amiguitos” most likely means “Little friends” in English, which if correct, would make sense for the concept this toy has, being a small toy with animals being friends, where this toy comes from could most likely be Argentina, as I found it on an Argentinian website that also sold other Official products and Fakies from well, Argentina, also the toy camel being yellow with pink hair, unlike what the back packaging art depicts.

So I found this guy in a local shop the other day and decided to buy him on a whim

He's definitely a knockoff transformer of sorts. But despite the fact that he feels pretty cheap, he's pretty decent in terms of quality for what I paid ($10 for me, or roughly $6 in USD) The articulation is surprisingly diverse, the wheels have rubber tires, and the truck cab is even made of diecast metal!

Due to the lack of any proper name as far as I could tell, I've decided to nickname him Din :] (derived from "Hero dinba" written on the left side of the truck hood)

By the looks of it, this guy's part of a combiner team (Presumably the "Rakers" if we're still counting the words on his paint job)
