Hey, hope you're having a nice day! I've seen your Imperial!Bad Batch headcanons but I was wondering if you could do headcanons for them like what it would be like dating the Imperial!Bad Batch? Your writing is always so good so I am excited to hear your thoughts
Aloha!
Hmm, this could get complicated.... I don't know if there would be that much of a difference, or if they would date at all. If their chips were working, I think they would not.
*Scratching head* Let me try and make something up 😅
Let's assume that the chips don't work, and they have voluntarily decided to follow the empire despite all consequences. So I give the whole thing a dark twist. But that also means that not too much fluff is to be expected. Gosh, what did I get myself into.... Sorry 😅 The bad Bad Batch...
Imperial Bad Batch x Reader HCs - About Dating
Imperial not so fluffy Batch/Toxic/ Strongly Suggestive in Parts
_______________
Hunter
He is confident, he knows what he wants and once he has his eyes on you, he is sure that you belong to him. Hunter is very charming but also calculating, he knows how he has to act to wrap you around his finger.
He probes your preferences and weaknesses to manipulate you if you don't fall for his charms. He uses his extraordinary senses to read you and react to you accordingly. He knows that you are attracted to him. Hunter feels the same, and yet he likes to play little games and make you squirm every now and then. Hunter loves to see how you adore him and how relieved you are when he finally gets back to you after a long time.
He's a procrastinator, delaying your meetings and every touch until you're both so starved that you go wild over each other. He likes it wild, but he's always in control, so even though you may have a passionate streak, he knows how to tame you for him. Hunter knows what to do to get you to do his every bidding and submit to him.
It will probably seem to you like he is controlling you in some way, and that is not deceiving, that is exactly what he does. He is also very passionate, easily jealous and very possessive. Hunter displays you by his side like a beloved trophy, he has conquered you, and he wants everyone to know it.
Dating, or even a relationship, is a roller coaster ride. Hunter has phases where he, worships you, showers you with gifts, then phases where he ignores you and avoids you, just so he can starve you both for a wild reunion.
Echo
He's a quiet guy, but quiet waters run deep. Often an intense look in your direction is enough to make your knees weak, and he knows that. Echo doesn't need many words to show what he wants, looks and small touches are often more than enough to make you fall for him.
He likes to spoil you, especially physically, for the simple reason that he loves to see how you surrender to him completely, how you almost helplessly and willlessly melt away in pleasure. He loves the control he has over you.
Yes, he is attracted to you and yet you are his toy that he likes to dispose of as he pleases, and he has a talent for convincing you that this is exactly what you want.
Your dates are quiet and intimate, no big hoopla, just the two of you and Echo's intensity. He doesn't like to share in any way, so it is quite likely that he will isolate you and keep you away from your friends and family to have you all to himself. He's pretty clever about it, so it won't seem like he's manipulating you and those around you.
Intense but dangerous. It is better not to upset him, his 'positive' interest in you can quickly turn into the opposite if you do things that displease him. You don't want to experience Echo angry, he can make your life hell.
Wrecker
He has seen you and decided that you belong at his side. Just as he approaches everything else, he simply storms into your life and claims you for himself. Wrecker is a very present, engaging person.
He tends to take things he wants by force. It is no different with you. He won't force himself on you, not physically, but he has no problem literally breaking apart rivals and other suitors.
He will not tolerate any rivals, ever. Your attention belongs to him alone, he makes sure of that just by his appearance, you can't ignore this man. Wrecker fills every room he enters, not only by his beefy appearance, he radiates a strength and will that is almost physically tangible.
He leads you around like a trophy, and he loves to dominate you. He always moves hard on the border between lustful fun and cruelty, but at least he doesn't cross it.
Dating or even a relationship with him is intense and wild, maybe a bit rougher, he doesn't necessarily try to be particularly sensitive.
He tends to be selfish.
Tech
He is very direct and doesn't beat around the bush. Tech has seen you and wants you, and that's exactly what he tells you.
"It would not be very smart to refuse, I am by far the best match you can get".
Yes, he's arrogant, full of himself and convinced he knows everything and can achieve anything. And his next target is you. He has a talent to see through you, he has already collected all data about you, at least those that are accessible without getting to know you, and he is about to get all the rest. Of course, he takes advantage of this knowledge.
Tech is anything but shy and very eager to experiment. Even your first intimate encounter includes an hours-long foreplay that almost brings you to the edge of your mind. Tech tickles absolutely everything out of you that he can bring out of you in lust, and he is, as I said, very experimental and surprisingly patient.
Tech is demanding, engaging and manipulative, very full of himself and almost frighteningly persuasive. If Tech is interested in you, very soon almost every thought you have will revolve around him, he makes sure of that.
Crosshair
Oh, he's not stalking you. Crosshair makes you stalk him, idolize him, and ask him out. You're not the type to do that? Oh yes, Crosshair knows how to get that out of you and if you don't go for it, he will eventually lose interest again.
He enjoys your attention, he likes to be the center of attention, or rather to be able to manipulate when this is the case and when not. Crosshair makes himself the center of your attention and all your planning.
He flirts, pulls back, gives you glances from afar, a little smirk here and there, a casual touch as you walk by, followed by a little wink. But he never asks you to go out with him, he waits for you, he wants to be asked. If not, he looks for the next target.
It is not easy to keep him happy, he is demanding and expects you to be ready for him whenever he feels like it. He flirts fiercely and not seldom, not only with you. He loves to see the jealousy flaring up in your eyes, he likes the flattering feeling that you want him all to yourself.
Crosshair pushes many limits, your patience, your pain threshold and how far he can push you. He has a talent for never really crossing the line, but sometimes he is close to it.
Dating and a relationship with him are intense, wild, quite interesting but also very exhausting and draining.

It was small, minor even. In all of the pageantry, hoopla, stunts and shows that come with the annual Met Gala — celebrities decked in haute couture, multiple costume changes, group chats and social media timelines rushing to outdo one another for jokes. But in the middle of all that, Queen Latifah walked the 2024 Met Gala Carpet with her longtime partner Eboni Nichols.
When I first saw it, well, I screamed a little. Ok, maybe I screamed more than a little. But you have to understand, it’s not that we haven’t seen Queen and Eboni walk a red carpet together before, they walked the Oscars carpet together in 2022 and more recently they walked a different red carpet together for an AmFAR benefit in 2023. She first publicly acknowledged Eboni, and their son Rebel, from a BET Awards stage by thanking them both as her “love” while accepting her Lifetime Achievement. But if you’re a queer person and especially a Black queer person, who has been a part of this community at any point in the last 30 years, I also know that you get it. This is the queen. After rooting for her journey for so long, after she was a queer awakening for so many of us across so many years, every forward step still feels lucky somehow for us to witness. Each one feels like a breath of fresh air.
I posted my all caps emotions to Twitter because for better or for worse, I am chronically online. I thought it would do maybe a few hundred likes. Some love from a few other fans. Again on some level I intellectually know… we have been here before. But somehow still, the Met felt different. Walking the world’s most famous carpet, with every camera trained on you and your partner in your matching black & white gowns felt different. Anyway, it ended up with over 45 thousand likes in a day. And that’s when I knew — I wasn’t alone.
To be very clear here, I do not believe that Queen Latifah owes us Dana Owens. In 2008, after being arguably the most famous woman rapper for nearly two decades and an Oscar-nominated actress, she told The New York Times that when it came to her romantic life, “You don’t get that part of me. Sorry. We’re not discussing it… Nobody gets that. I don’t feel like I need to share my personal life.” And she’s absolutely correct. We are not owed hers (or anyone’s) coming out. We are not owed beyond what she has left for us on stage and screen.
But it’s also hard not to feel this as a homecoming, deep in your bones. And I hope that if Queen sees this joy spreading across the internet as pictures of her and Eboni go viral, that she knows its meant with pride in her and gratitude for all that she already gave us. Everything else is a bonus.
I have loved Queen Latifah since I was eight years old. I loved her longer than I’ve known I was gay. In so many ways, she taught me a lot about strength, and independence, and loving other Black women and not taking any shit and womanhood. So it’s impossible, now, not to gush when Emma Chamberlin interviewed Queen and Eboni together on the carpet and asked, “Is this a date night?”
Queen takes a deep breath and smiles before teasingly calling Eboni “Eb.” Eboni fills in their banter and says that she playfully threatened Queen that this was the year they were doing the Met, and she better make it happen. Like an old married couple who’s been here a thousand times before, Queen Latifah picks up the story there, saying that she wanted to be “the hero of my household.” And so now, here they are.
I’m saying… this is Queen Latifah… being flirtatious and chivalrous to her partner, live and in front of cameras? I am on my knees. We used to dream for days like this!!
(No, literally. Do you know many times I have wished I could be silly and thirsty and overdramatic on the internet for their love story??? To even be able make a joke like “I’m on my knees” in same that’s usually reserved for an umpteenth number of white skinny lesbians in their 20s and 30s. To borrow even more internet speak: I cry 😭)
I think a lot about what it means to be Black and a lesbian or bisexual or queer and a woman over a certain age. In part, I think about it because of this job (writing about gay people on the internet), but also it’s because of this job that I know so many of the queer icons I grew up loving — for whatever reason, they’ve never felt like they could come out. Not fully. Not in such a way that we can openly write about them.
And there are a lot of days where, to be honest, that doesn’t matter. Everyone, even celebrities, is entitled to their own life story. It’s truly probably none of our business. But Queen Latifah did an interview with her longtime partner and after loving her for what feels like my entire life now I get to all caps yell SHUT UP YALL, THEY ARE SO CUTE and they are and it’s perfect. Sometimes, that matters too.

Sigyn and her path to become Empress of Multiverse
Sigyn was destined to become a ruler from the beginning - it took her some time to see it
In Thor 1, Sigyn, who just got bethrothed to Loki, quickly recognized the rapidly changing socio political schemes of Asgard, with Thor almost causing a whole another war with the Jotunns and thus banished, AND Loki's parentage is revealed, and thus worked to pull strings to help keep things in the Asgardian court afloat
Of course, she was shocked that the love of her life turned out to be the biological son of the one monster who killed her mother at first, yet she soon got better about it and never punished Loki for what Laufey has done to her home realm
In fact, Loki had trouble admitting that fear of losing her after that reveal. She comforts him that, while shocked, she will still love him and that he is never what Laufey is, and Loki and Sigyn shared a special night together in his chambers....( wink wink )
Anyway, Loki temporarily ruling Asgard also made her become more assured as a future ruler. With the Warriors 4 willingly commit treason against Loki just to try bring Thor back, Sigyn immediately worked to try persuade Loki to be more merciful to them even if they did commit treason, and even warned the Warriors 4 to ' be more careful ' after that one confrontation with Loki where Sif almost slapped Loki ( luckily, Fandral held her back for the sake of Sigyn )
And when Thor and Loki began to be at each other's throats, Sigyn helped Frigga to try stop the fighting between the 2 Princes. Alas, when Loki was first believed dead for a time, Sigyn went into deep grief, and agreed to join the new Asgardian Embassy to Mhurruk as a way to heal her grief
During all the hoopla in Avengers 1, Sigyn was unaware of what Loki has done cuz pretty much everyone else back in Asgard in tow tried to keep her out of the loop so as not to upset her further. She was learning all the cues of diplomacy across the Dark Dimension and found a trusted mentor figure in Empress Clea. But when she got a message from her father that she is needed back in Asgard....she was not prepared for what is to happen next
In Thor 2, once Sigyn returns to Asgard, she at first angrily confronts how she was kept out of the loop this whole time when Loki was on a mind controlled rampage, even begged - beseeched - on her knees to not execute Loki because she loves him so much. Odin and Frigga reassured her that Loki will not be executed, and Sigyn is permitted to visit Loki
The visits are frequent, and the stories they shared are numerous. After much telling from Loki, Sigyn was able to piece two and two together that her man was mind controlled all the time and felt guilty about not knowing AND not being able to save him from mind control just in time
Nevertheless, she helped nurse his psychological wounds from those torture back to health, and already began forming back ups to show the rest of Asgard the truth
On top of that, between being unwantedly pursued by Theoric and being a peacemaker between Thor's squad and Loki's party, Sigyn juggle with a lot of internal diplomacy in the Aesir court, just so that the Aesir court doesn't have to fall apart especially with Malekith's attacks. Her father was jn Alfheim, siding with Mundilfari and his court to fight against Malekith. Even worse, Malekith killed Mundilfari and tried to mind control Aelsa to marry him. That didn't work, so Malekith threw all of those Light Fae there to a glass prison where Malekith was prepared to BURN THEM ALIVE
Fortunately, Sigyn heard word of what happened to her father and her Light Fae friends, and telelorted herself to join a number of others to help save their asses. They all escaped as the glass prison exploded, and Sigyn helped several others to be refuged in Asgard for now
Back at Asgard, after Frigga died, Sigyn steps up to become a chief mediator of Thor and Loki, managing to expose Theoric being a spy for Malekith to the rest of Asgard ( causing all the other warriors of Asgard to have a race over who can have Theoric's head first ), and even got Thor and Loki to team up to fight Malekith. Loki ends up killing both Theoric and Malekith on the same day
Between Thor 2 and Thor 3, with Thor mostly traveling around, Loki took over as Odin form, with Sigyn as his chief strategist. She was strategic pillar of Loki's party, and she helped solve multiple problems
And then in Thor 3, with Thor and Loki off to Sakaar and her already becoming a Princess of Asgard, she basically becomes one of those in charge of the Aesir parties. With the Warriors 3 dead, Hela took over the throne by force, and Sif banished, Sigyn helps with rhe supplies of armies of rhe Aesir fleet and helped run the Coral Cove refuge in Alfheim. She showed truly efficient leadership despite all the high stakes around her
In Loki series, after being abducted, she escaped and helped many others around her to escape after several failed attempts, and then she got into the Dark Dimension variant refuge, and also personally asked Clea for help in help defending that refuge. Clea, who already has great disdain for the TVA, willingly joins in the project, and soon began installing powerful defense spells of the refuge to help ward off the multiverse madness
All those experienced helped Sigyn to become a powerful, wiser and remarkable Empress of the Multiverse. The volva has become a true Empress

Now that I'm knee deep in the hoopla. I mean Hameln I'd really like to see a potential Marl reboot/sequel pull from this a little more. From what I can tell Antiphona may lean more in fhat direction but I am going strictly off of vibes and memories of playing it blindly 8 years ago

Sorry, Bill
So in the midst of trying to write a paper on a fuckboy rake from Shakespeare's worst (?) play, this week I have had We Built This City by Jefferson Airplane Jefferson Starship Starship stuck in my head. And it pains me to say this, but I don't think the song is very good?
With apologies to the friends who have caused the song to be stuck in my head: so, okay. Normally, I LOVE eighties pop - synths are one of my very favorite instruments to hear in music, and I would say that new wave is my favorite genre (aside from, possibly, song mashups).
But We Built This City is not much of a song. It's a refrain, a catchphrase. We Built This City! On What? On ROCK-N-ROLL! KACHOW!
Okay, maybe that's a little uncharitable. I'm making the song sound like an obnoxious hair metal band made it. It's not a hair metal song, it's a pop rock song. (A hair metal band could probably have made this song, though.)
What I like about it, at least, is the synth line between the chorus and verses. I like the sound of eighties pop. I LOVE it when it's done well, but I will like it just fine even when it is just meh.
But the lyrics... man. I'll start by saying that 'knee deep in the hoopla' is a phrase that's meaninglessly abstract, and the words in it sound bad to hear. And the chorus is annoyingly repetitive after a while - it's like the song ran out of things to say. It's trying to build a Jenga tower of song meaning out of one load-bearing titular lyric.
Most annoyingly... okay, something I'm gonna probably talk about more eventually is how I have developed a distaste for artworks that are about themselves too much (blame absolute hack director Noah Baumbach for this), and this applies to what music critic Todd In The Shadows described as "rock's favorite subject: itself!" Come on, bands. Love songs are popular because they're about a human emotion people want to feel, but to make songs about "yeah, we're rock musicians and we love rock, and rock is so important!"? Spare me. I already know that rock is awesome (or rather, good rock is awesome). Trying to convince me further just strikes me as self-congratulatory. Which is arrogant and annoying.
Anyway, I do not understand what the rest of the song means, either. (Wikipedia raises points about the hyper-polished, borderline corporate sound of the music, which I agree with in principle but haven't thought about myself much and won't cover here.) But I want to make clear - I want to like this song. I just don't think it's good.
Anyway, apologies to the Bard too for not having my paper done yet. Despite what the haters say, All's Well That Ends Well is not a completely terrible play even if it is hashtag-Problematic (in ways that have been real fascinating and fun to study in class). But why can't I seem to write that, yet I can develop all these thoughts on a mediocre eighties rock hit on a whim?
Brainpower is hard to dedicate on what I recognize as work. Anyway, time to write about how this play punishes Bertram for being a fuckboy.

Starship - We Built This City
We built this city
Nous avons construit cette ville
We built this city on rock and roll
Nous avons construit cette ville sur le rock and roll
Built this city
Construit cette ville
We built this city on rock and roll
Nous avons construit cette ville sur le rock and roll
Say you don't know me or recognize my face
Dis que tu ne me connais pas ou ne reconnais pas mon visage
Say you don't care who goes to that kind of place
Dis que tu te fous de qui va dans ce genre d'endroit
Knee deep in the hoopla, sinking in your fight
Genoux au fond du hoopla, plongeant dans ton combat
Too many runaways eating up the night
Trop de fugueurs mangeant la nuit
Marconi plays the mamba, listen to the radio, don't you remember ?
Marconi joue du mamba, écoute la radio, tu ne te souviens pas ?
We built this city, we built this city on rock and roll

Someone's always playing corporation games
Quelqu'un joue toujours à des jeux d'entreprise
Who cares, they're always changing corporation names
Peu importe, ils changent toujours de nom de société
We just want to dance here, someone stole the stage
Nous voulons juste danser ici, quelqu'un a volé la scène
They call us irresponsible, write us off the page
Ils nous appellent irresponsables, rayez-nous de la page

It's just another Sunday in a tired old street
C'est juste un autre dimanche dans une vieille rue fatiguée
Police have got the choke hold, oh, then we just lost the beat
La police a l'étranglement, oh, alors nous avons juste perdu le rythme
Who counts the money underneath the bar ?
Qui compte l'argent sous le bar ?
Who rides the wrecking ball into our guitars ?
Qui monte la boule de démolition dans nos guitares ?
Don't tell us you need us 'cause we're the ship of fools
Ne nous dis pas que tu as besoin de nous car nous sommes le vaisseau des imbéciles

Starship
Hickey Thomas and Co.

By Robert M Massimi. ( Broadway Bob).Published about a minute ago • 3 min read

Robert M. Massimi.
Starship, and its predecessor, Jefferson Airplane were born out of San Francisco, California. As a continuation of Jefferson Airplane, Jefferson Starship continued on with many of the original artists leaving the band to go in different directions. Jefferson Airplane would record many songs of note before their final breakup.
It would be 1992 when Starship featuring Mickey Thomas would evolve into the act that we see today. What was a original main feature of Starship was the great Grace Slick singing with Thomas. It was uncanny how much the two sounded alike. Slick would eventually leave the band in 1988, leaving Thomas as the sole band mate. Grace Slick would leave her mark before leaving, however. In 1985 with the album "Knee Deep in The Hoopla" would produce a number one hit with "We Built This City"; it made Slick at that time the oldest woman to record a number one hit only to be usurped by Cher.
"Hoopla" would also produce the song "Sara" and that song too went to number one. Like Jefferson Airplane and Jefferson Starship, Starship had a huge turnover in the artists that played for each band. Especially in the Airplane years, big egos and artistic differences led to people like Casady and Karkonen to part the band and form Hot Tuna. Even Marty Balin how formed the band would end up leaving it due to artistic differences and infighting.
Starting in 1965, the Airplane would swap out some of their musicians for others; this is when the powerful Grace Slick entered the band (1966). Many experts say that it was 1966 was when the band was at its peek. Drummer Spencer Dryden backstopped many of their greatest hits. Slick was resonant on vocals and bassist Casady would bring the hard driving rock beat to Airplane.
Last evening at the beautiful Morristown Performing Arts Center, Starship and Mickey Thomas were at the forefront. Thomas, while older now, still has a formidable voice. At times playful, Thomas was all business when it came to the band's performance With a tight band around him, Starship opened with "Layin' It on the Line". The evenings second and third songs were in order of "Jane" and "Sara", two great hits by the band.
It would be the evenings sixth and seventh songs that would bring the crowd to a frenzy: "White Rabbit" and "Somebody to Love". The older crowd ate these two great yesteryear songs up. Artisanally, going right into "Somebody" from "Rabbit" was brilliant. While the woman who belted them out was very good, she was no Grace Slick. She did not have that deep heartfelt staccato in her like Slick had; and yet she was still sufficient enough to make you feel the songs while they played. It is noteworthy to mention that these two songs are etched in Rock and Roll history.
Starship would record two songs for movies: "Wild Again" for the movie "Cocktail" and "It's Not Enough" for "Young-blood" The later was the follow-up song to "Somebody to Love". This song was played brilliantly by the bands strong lead guitarist. In fact, the flow of the concert all evening was brilliant; the song timing and the choice of songs scheduled were well thought out.
"Nothing's gonna Stop Us Now" was one of the evenings favorites by the enthusiastic fans. Thomas drove the crowd to its feet with its wonderful blend of pop and soul. Thomas's participation with Elvin Bishop on "Fooled Around and Fell in Love" was a nostalgic wonder! Thomas showed the audience that his voice can still dig down deep. His voice is one of the most recognizable in rock till this day. "Stranger" showed off the band's musical talents... with the hard hitting drums, the great organ playing and tight bass, "Stranger" went deep to the heart of this band today! Ending with the Bernie Tarpin, Martin Page and Dennis Lambert "We Built This City" was a standing ovation! Done beautifully, the crowd was not disappointed. The show would conclude with "Find Your Way Back" and Ac/DC's Shook Me All Night Long.

Wolves
"Wolves" just isn't good! Stars George Clooney (Michael Clayton) and Brad Pitt star in a ridiculous silly movie about a cleaner, or fixer, if you will. What makes "Wolves" so bad is not as much as the weak story, but the stupid banter between Pitt and Clooney.
