Hey! I'm sorry for my hiatus. Life was keeping my head closing to the underwater level, but I think I'm finally getting back to the shallow end on life's ocean. LOL. I've decided that we will continue with the Roulette, but I'm going to try to pace myself this time. We will write two prompts this year We will try to keep both stories at ten chapters or less. Here are the prompts:

story prompt -Wedding Planner Kurt and Best Man Blaine have to work together to keep a wedding between feuding families from turning into a brawl while fighting off the advances of the bridesmaids and the Groom's handsy gay cousin.

9. -Kurt is an employee at Hummel Tire and Lube, and they're short handed. Burt hires Blaine as an extra set of hands, but he and Kurt do not hit it off. Co workers Klaine. Enemies to Lovers. We will be writing this story from July through September. We will publish in October.

Summary: In 2015, the Lima bishop tries to ruin the Hummels’ Christmas. Kurt won’t let him.

Notes: This is part of my Mormon!Klaine universe. It takes place after Out of Eden, which I am still in the process of posting to AO3. Should you read this if you’re waiting to see what happens in Out of Eden? IDK. But what I can say is this might be part of Kurt and Blaine’s in-verse “canon” future, or it might just be one of many possible futures. Fanfic of fanfic, if you will.

Kurt didn't want to be fatalistic. He didn't want to assume the worst of people. He was trying to learn at least that much from Blaine.

But he wasn't naive. And the signs pointed toward a confrontation: The new, uninspired policy, of course. Elder Nelson declaring that it was a revelation from God—the same Elder Nelson who believed that God was incapable of loving unconditionally, and therefore could not be trusted to tell God or God’s revelations from the inane clamorings of his own ego. The bishop’s questions to Kurt’s dad after the wedding invitations went out. Kurt’s membership records still being held up in Lima, even though his new bishop in L.A. had put a request in several times to get them transferred to the new ward and was just as frustrated as Kurt over the delay.

Still, he had hoped the Lima bishop believed enough in the sacredness of family that he wouldn't inject himself into Kurt’s visit home for Christmas.

He had hoped, but he hadn't assumed. So when he went out for the mail on Christmas Eve and saw the ward secretary’s car parked across the street, he knew what was happening. He headed straight for the driver side window and knocked. “You do realize you two look like stalkers, don't you?”

The ward secretary smiled as he got out of the car. He held a business-size envelope in his hand. “Sorry to startle you. We just got here and were taking a moment to pray first.” On the other side, the bishop’s second counselor emerged.

“So, did it work?” Kurt said.

“I’m sorry?” the ward secretary said.

“Did the prayer work? Did you convince God that you’re doing the right thing? Or at least convince your own conscience?”

“Kurt,” the ward secretary frowned. “This brings me no joy. You've been called to a disciplinary council.” He held the letter out for Kurt.

“Merry Christmas to you, too,” Kurt said. “But you can keep that.”

“I’m required to give it to you.”

“I’m not required to take it.”

The ward secretary stepped forward. He put a hand on Kurt’s front coat pocket and made to shove the envelope in it.

Kurt stepped back. “Watch it. That's assault.”

“Kurt—” The second counselor chimed in. “We want to help you. The church has clarified that those who enter into same-sex marriage are in apostasy. But you haven’t done it yet. The disciplinary council is an opportunity for you to change course. You've been such an important member of our ward. I've always been inspired by your faith and your commitment to the truth. But this is a blind spot for you. And maybe it is for me, too—the natural man in me keeps questioning it and wondering why it has to be this way. But that’s why we have prophets and apostles—because we can’t trust our own feelings. And they have spoken. Elder Nelson said it was a revelation—”

“Elder Nelson is in apostasy,” Kurt said.

The two brothers looked as if they'd just been bitten by a snake.

But they hadn’t. Kurt was the one who had been bitten, over and over again, and now these two representatives of the priesthood were here to bite him once more in the name of God. And he was tired of it. “Elder Nelson usurped the prophet. Did President Monson tell us this policy change was a revelation? Have any of the other apostles confirmed it? No. It’s unclear if they were all even there to vote on it. And if it is revelation? True revelation? Then he would bring it to the next general conference for a vote of common consent, because our scriptures themselves tell us that a revelation is only true for the whole church and can only bind the whole membership of the church if we have a chance to vote on it. But we haven't had that chance, and there's no sign that he's planning to give us that chance. He thinks he can just say a thing is a revelation and we're all supposed to fall in line? What is that, if it's not apostasy?”

They continued to stare at Kurt. Then, the ward secretary spoke up. “Kurt, don’t make this worse.”

Kurt laughed. “How could something I do possibly make this worse? The bishop sends you out as his goons on Christmas Eve, away from your families, to come to my father’s home and threaten me with excommunication—which, if you actually believe everything Elder Nelson says, will separate me from dad and my mother and Carole and Finn and the rest of my family for all of eternity. Is that the Christmas present you wanted to deliver to my father? Is that your idea of Christlike love? Because it's not what I was taught in Sunday school, and it's not what the scriptures say. And you can keep that letter. I'm not going to come to a disciplinary council held by a bishop in a ward where I don't even live anymore and plead for forgiveness because I refuse to forsake the best gifts that this church has given me: love and grace, charity and forgiveness. Even of this bishop who is trying so hard to make himself my enemy. I feel sorry for him, that this is what he thinks God wants him to do. That he thinks God's love is conditional. That he thinks the love I have for Blaine, one of the greatest gifts God has ever given me, is depraved. That he thinks he has the power to separate me from my family and the people I love in the eternities. It’s so sad, and I pray for him every day that he will stop living in fear. I pray for him, and I love him. But I don’t recognize his authority over me.”

And so he asks Kurt to be his prom date, repeatedly until Kurt, in frustration, finally blurts out that someone already asked him. He said the first name that came to mind, Blaine's. A take on the "prince/king!Blaine and prince/king!Kurt are getting married and have to do it while naked in front of their loyal subjects" trope. It’s pure crack taken seriously. I’m blaming the heat. The fic started as this wisp of an idea and a single funny Kurt line. It was supposed to all be fast paced and instead sometimes dissolves into a bit of world building, exposition, and Kurt feelings. I do try my best and hope that at least some of the jokes and humor land. It also developed a full blown plot that has a beginning and an end.

best klaine fic you’ve ever read?

Hmmm, this is a hard question because I hate to say one piece of fanfiction is the /best/. It's also kind of like asking which book is your favorite - idk. (I do have a favorite book, it's Lord of the Rings, but that's not something I reread for fun all the time, you know?)

I also haven't read much Klaine fanfic in the last five-ish? years so I'm sure I'm missing out on some wonderful stories.

Personally, though, the one that's resonated with me the most over the years (and this is completely a predictable answer as I give it a lot) is Misqueue's Scenes During the Break Up. I think she gets both characters incredibly well, and there's a beauty and maturity to her writing that I've always enjoyed. And this collection is just so gut wrenching in a lot of ways, but also still satisfying, and still acknowledging of the deep feelings bubbling underneath. Reading her fic felt like reading an art form over reading just fun fic.

I should also add - it helped me understand and kind of deal with the events of canon in a way that made me feel better about what happened. It was so gut wrenching going through that when it aired that to have fiction help you kind of work through it was so helpful.

WIP Wednesday (or Thursday?)

I am taking advantage of @bitbybitwrites saying the water is fine,so here I am. (Also I love doing this. Please tag me too. Cause I need some motivation).

The month of December has been very lucky for me in a way because I actually wrote something with the reason of challenges. What am I working on ? I am going to debut into Red,White and Royal Blue fandom. I had signed up for 2 fanfic events and I am working on one. The other one is gonna be hard with the fact that I have to start from the scratch.

What's happening with Klaine? @ericdooley 's second part of the secret santa gift is on list as of now. If I complete the 2 rwrb fics,that's the thing I should work on.

What am I working on apart from gift exchanges? I should make a new year resolution (which is not gonna happen anyway) that I should write some multi chapter fics. I already have one,I should complete it 😭

So,I have a bunch of oneshots that I'm working on. Here is an excerpt from one of them:

“Hey,” Kurt greeted back in low tone,” Go, take a shower and come back. I've made dinner.”

What happened to him? Blaine would usually expect him to yell at him to shower first before touching him because hygiene was important. Also, the low tone was suspicious. Anyway, Blaine just nodded and left for a quick shower.

They sat down for dinner and started their dinner.

“ So how did your day go?” Blaine asked as he self-served some Mac and Cheese.

“Nothing. Just a normal day.”

It was still in low tone. And Kurt was visibly sniffing and clearing his throat. Something was wrong.

“How was your day?”

Change of topic before getting down with the thing that was troubling Kurt. Great. Blaine went through his day, recalling everything that happened including interesting cases he dealt with, the seminar, a little gossip and stuff.

Kurt didn't hear any of these. Don't get him wrong. He was usually a good listener but now the thing that was bothering him was blocking his ears and brain. He didn't know.how to ask him. He didn't know how to let him know that they were also connected in some other way , way before they met.

I love hurt/comfort and angst/comfort and I can't stop writing them someway. Do you think I should be posting soon? I don't know.

honestly? i try to just write whenever im inspired. i don’t do well late at night tho… i tend to get really sleepy when i write and if its dark out i end up passing out.

after the events of feel my hearts intention, kurt and blaine do not work well together- instead of fighting, its a lot of pda early on. santana has to separate them bc rachel gets grossed out. quinn just finds everything amusing.

klaine!succession!au ….. kurt was blaine’s intern and blaines personality was based off of roman & a little bit of kendall. cooper was connor and rachel was shiv and a bit of kendall. 60K+ words and i didnt know where i was going with it so i dropped it…i wrestle picking it back up periodically, esp bc of word count, but until i can create a cohesive plot its not going to happen. so it may never happen LOL

thinking about food as a love language. how we share food with and make food for people we care about, people we love. how there are recipes for friendship bread and how i've baked breads and desserts for friends simply because i care about them, because i love them. how we invite people into our homes and cook meals for them. how every sunday night in my house, we have family and friends over for dinner. how on holidays, my whole family gathers and we share food. how we share food in celebration of events or achievements. but also how we share food when someone is grieving. thinking about how we use food to care for others, how sharing food is really just saying "i made this for you, i care about you, i love you."

A "Safe" Choice

So...this is just a self-indulgent little one-shot inspired by something that happens weekly where I work. Basically, every Wednesday, an armored service technician from the cash handling company comes to check the safe, and there's a couple guys that everyone at my workplace agrees are attractive, so I took that and made a one-shot out of it, featuring Blaine as the cute armored service technician and barista!Kurt (Tina and Santana are baristas too just for fun). So yeah, here's that, hope it's not literally the worst thing you've ever read or whatever:

Wednesdays are Kurt's favorite day of the week to work. Every Wednesday, the safe technicians come to the coffee shop to do routine safe checks, but that fact isn't that important. However, the fact that is important is that every Wednesday when the safe technicians come in, the very cute, curly-haired technician is almost always the one who comes to check their safe, and has been for months. And, okay, maybe Kurt has a bit of a crush on the cute, curly-haired technician, and maybe he always makes sure he works on Wednesdays so he can see him.

Wednesdays have always been safe check days, but Wednesdays didn't become Kurt's favorite day of the work week until around a month after the first appearance of 'Hot Safe Guy,' as the curly-haired technician had so lovingly become known amongst the coffee shop employees. Speaking of the first appearance of 'Hot Safe Guy,' when Kurt and his coworkers had seen him for the first time, they'd all agreed that yes, the curly-haired technician was very attractive with his dark curls and cute smile and very nicely toned arms and there was just something about the armored vest; and yes, they'd all secretly hoped that he'd be back the following Wednesday. And when he unfortunately wasn't, it may have brought their spirits down a tiny bit. But when the technician returned the following week, their work day suddenly got a little better. And then it was the same cute, curly-haired technician the following couple weeks, and suddenly, he had been nicknamed Hot Safe Guy amongst the coffee shop crew, and suddenly, Wednesdays had been dubbed Hot Safe Guy days, and a few of the crew members, Kurt included, were doing their best to make sure they always worked on Hot Safe Guy days.

When Hot Safe Guy started appearing more frequently, Kurt and his coworkers may have started spending just a little too much of their time trying to figure out if any of them had a chance with Hot Safe Guy. They may have started attempting to catch the attention of Hot Safe Guy. For instance, as on one Wednesday when Tina decided to wear a mini skirt that could have been dubbed questionable work attire.

"Isn't that skirt a little short for work, T?" Kurt had asked her.

"It's Wednesday," Tina started in response, "It's Hot Safe Guy day, let me have this."

"Okay…" Kurt added with some disbelief in his voice.

"What?" Tina continued, "You don't think I have a chance, do you?"

"Let's just say I think you're trying to attract a guy who is unavailable to you…"

"...You think he's taken?"

"Not that kind of unavailable…"

"You think he's gay?! Wait, why?"

"Uh, have you seen his ass? No straight guy has an ass that nice."

"It does look like it was baked to perfection by some master baker… But that doesn't mean he's gay!"

"We'll see..."

"You ladies wanna stop swooning over the safe guy for a couple minutes and actually help me open this place?" Santana quipped at them.

Kurt would test his guess the following week when he showed up to work in some very tight jeans that also could have been dubbed questionable work attire.

"Aren't those pants a little tight for work, Kurt?" Tina had teased him.

"It's Wednesday," he remarked back at her.

"You still have no proof of him being gay," Tina added.

"I might later. Still upset that he didn't pay attention to you last week, huh?"

"...No."

"Sure, T. Suuure…"

So over the next few weeks, namely Kurt and Tina's, but also a couple other coworkers', attempts to catch Hot Safe Guy's attention continued, and "it's Wednesday" became a very commonly used excuse for their choices in work attire. And though Santana didn't participate in what she had dubbed the "slutty work wear competition," she did keep track of if and when Hot Safe Guy seemed to pay some attention to any of them, and it was eventually discovered that he noticed Kurt much more often than anyone else. That discovery then discouraged most of the girls who had attempted to get Hot Safe Guy's attention, except for Tina, who was still not convinced that Hot Safe Guy might not be attracted to women. That then led to Kurt and Tina both starting to outright flirt with Hot Safe Guy when he came in on Wednesdays, and Santana continuing to keep track of this to see what happened.

After a few weeks of the flirting phase, Kurt and Santana were both pretty sure that the guy had no interest in Tina. Tina, however, was still not convinced.

"Seriously, Tina, give it up, he's not into you," Santana attempted to convince her.

"We don't know that for sure," Tina asserted, "Hot Safe Guy could still be interested in me."

"He's not," Kurt added, "And he does have a name, you know."

The Name of the Game

The only reason Blaine's at this stupid glee club party at Rachel Berry's house is because Puck told him there would be alcohol. Which thankfully there is because Blaine's not so sure he can sit through this all sober. He'd rather not be spending his night listening to Rachel Berry hog a karaoke machine and ruin some perfectly good songs for him and have to watch all the glee couples make out and dry hump seven thousand times during the night. But here he was with nothing else better to do. At least there was alcohol. And Kurt.

The only reason he even joined this stupid glee club in the first place is because the school had forced him into joining a club so he wouldn't get kicked out of yet another school and glee club had seemed slightly less terrible than others. That , and glee club had Kurt Hummel. Fashionable, snarky, sometimes aloof Kurt Hummel. The boy who held his head high through any obstacle and who couldn't help but pull focus when he walked into a room. Kurt Hummel, who was destined for things much bigger and much more fabulous than Middle-of-Shitsville Lima, Ohio. The boy who caught Blaine's eye the moment he saw him the first day he was at this damn school and who hadn't left his mind since. 

Honestly, at first he just thought Kurt was hot. A bit of a bitch, but hot. And Blaine had wanted in his incredibly tight pants. So he'd pursued him. He'd flirted with him constantly. Occasionally it was a little too risque for school property. Eventually Kurt started flirting back. Then Blaine ended up getting stuck in glee club. More flirting. But also just talking sometimes. Eventually he and Kurt had formed a rather unlikely friendship. A rather unlikely friendship that eventually developed into one with benefits. And that was how they'd existed with each other for the past couple months. They'd talk, they'd flirt, they'd hang out sometimes, they'd fuck. They didn't date or do any couple-y shit cuz they weren't a couple, just friends with benefits. That was all they were and all Blaine needed them to be. 

Except that it really wasn't. Kurt was different from any other guys he'd been with. Kurt actually seemed to care about him. Actually wanted to talk with him after most nights. Seemed to want him for at least a little more than just a quick fuck. Seemed to not mind being his friend too much at least. Sometimes seemed like he wanted them to be more than what they were. But maybe that was just Blaine making shit up. 

Blaine knows that Kurt wants romance. And that Kurt deserves some epic romantic love story. And he can't give him that-- he doesn't do romance. He doesn't do the whole falling in love thing. He's a bad boy who fucks around, no feelings involved, and doesn't let his heart want more. Except when he's with Kurt. 

Fuck, he shouldn't be getting almost sentimental like this at a party full of the sappiest people on the planet. What he should be doing is getting so wasted that he doesn't remember any of this emotional bullshit he's thinking in the morning. So that's what he sets out to do until his plan is quickly dashed by Kurt Hummel himself. 

"Hey, sunshine," Kurt teases, plopping down on the couch next to him. 

"Hey" is all Blaine utters in response, short and admittedly ruder than it should have sounded. 

"Having fun brooding over here all by yourself?" 

"Yup." 

"Something got you down?" 

"Are you seeing all of them?" Blaine starts, referring to the glee club couples. "It's sickening." 

"While I'll admit that this is a little...intense, I still don't get what it is you have against love." 

"I've told you, it's not for me. I'm a badass, I don't do romance." 

"I think you could if you wanted to…" 

"Nope. Not my thing." 

"Boo. But suit yourself I guess." 

"I will." 

"Well, someone's exceptionally moody tonight. Seriously, what's going on with you?" 

"None of your business." 

"Actually, I think that as your b-- um, as your friend, it is my business. So what's up?" 

"Look, I'm just not in the mood to be here right now, okay?" 

"Oh. Okay… sorry. Anything I can do to make your night here a little better?" 

"Nope." 

"I can't convince you to come sing or anything?" 

"Not tonight."

Prompt:  Wedding Planner Kurt and Best Man Blaine have to work together to keep a wedding between feuding families from turning into a brawl while fighting off the advances of the bridesmaids and the Groom's handsy gay cousin.

“I’m sad.” Blaine pouts.

Kurt gives an exaggerated pout to the ceiling. Not quite mocking his husband but...okay maybe mocking a little, but Blaine can’t see him the way they’re situated so Kurt feels like it’s okay. And it’s done with love.

They’re lying on their bedroom floor - facing opposite directions with their heads resting on the other’s shoulder as they look up at the ceiling. They’re still in their good clothes and Kurt is just starting to feel uncomfortable, wishing he could get up and change.

Blaine, however, is the aforementioned ‘sad’, and Kurt feels like he’s going to be here a while.

“I know.” Kurt sighs.

“It was supposta be an event.” Blaine says, or rather slurs. He’s a few drinks in and Blaine has never been one to have the highest tolerance. Kurt smiles softly up at the ceiling at the thought.

“I know.” Kurt repeats.

“And then Finn spilled the cranberries.” Blaine continues.

“Finn does that.” Kurt says, simply.

“And my brother offended Carole.” Blaine adds.

Kurt hums, “That was kind of funny.” He knows Blaine isn’t really listening to him.

“Your dad hates my mom.” Blaine says, softly.

“He does not.” Kurt sighs. 

“It was our first Christmas dinner in our new place. Our first time hosting. I wanted it to be perfect.” Blaine sighs.

Kurt turns slightly so he can kiss Blaine’s cheek, “It was.” He says.

Blaine sighs again, “Say more nice things.” He says.

Kurt laughs up at the ceiling. He may be uncomfortable in his dress pants and want nothing more than to curl up in bed and sleep, but...he’s good here if it makes Blaine feel better.

You’ve Got My Number [5/24]

Summary: Kurt hates music theory, and music theory hates him, too. He decides he needs a tutor if he doesn’t want to flunk out of NYADA, which he very much doesn’t, so - enter Blaine.

Meanwhile, warblersong and sirelphaba have been internet friends since the early days of social media, having met on the Broadway musical side of Twitter. Years later, they’re still friends - and years later, they barely know anything about each other.

Kurt had been so thrown off by Blaine's reaction to Rachel and Elliott at Callbacks that he’d forgotten to be disappointed that he didn’t get to hear Blaine sing.

Two days later, it’s all he can think about.

Of course, he’s been curious about it before. Of course, Blaine’s at NYADA, so Kurt knows he must be good.

But of course, Kurt needs to hear it for himself.

He just needs to - and admittedly, he isn’t entirely sure why.

Kurt is constantly surrounded by nothing but epically talented people, and though it had been a shock to his system at first, he had quickly gotten used to it. Just a few weeks into his first semester, the sounds of his peers’ voices and melodies echoing throughout the halls of the practice rooms faded into the background, no longer noteworthy or capturing his attention.

It all feels normal, but Kurt knows, too, that he’s spoiled to be able to see it that way.

Attending a high-caliber arts school in New York City comes with countless perks - from free student recitals and performances nearly every night to offers for discounted tickets to (mostly off-Broadway) musicals and plays to frequent networking events that always come with the chance of being noticed, of being discovered.

Professional-level musical talent is everywhere around them.

Which makes it odd that Kurt cares so much about Blaine’s talent in particular.

Regarding your post about what fanfiction you're reading today, a question about that, do you also feel like there are less crazy stories out there (in general, not just for klaine)?

I've found so much crazy stuff for klaine (no judgment), but it's mostly older stuff. In the newer fandoms I've gotten into, you might find vampires or ABO (though the basic tropes there seem to be different than back then), but most of it is pretty close to realistic settings or to adapt canon events.

This is such a fascinating question because I've been so out of reading fanfic, I don't know!! I haven't ventured far enough out to be able to tell you.

The X-Men stuff I've read, and X-Men has been round forever, doesn't get into too much crazy, but I also haven't been looking at everything. The Office never went batshit crazy with stuff, either. I was always on the fringes of Harry Potter - and the universe itself lent itself to all sorts of things, so idk.

How wild to think about all the nonsense that Klaine got up to over the years. There really are some batshit crazy stuff out there, and oh fandom. I wonder if any of it's tied to the fact that back in the day -- there were more forum related things and more places to prompt people to write insane things? Fan culture has changed and has closed off in some ways (more and more people are headed to discord and closed off communities) and I think the with that closes off some of the opportunities to go further out there were story ideas. But idk.

Also, just because you've given me a place to think about it, Bridgerton continues to trend a lot like Glee (though I think Bridgerton is going to have peaks and valleys and longer staying power than Glee's supreme uprise and drastic fall). I tried reading some of the fanfic, and I'm finding it the way I'm sure people new coming into Glee find some our really old, classic fics. They characterization feels /off/.

Always with the influx of new story, it changes the perception of the characters, and I've found it interesting that stuff that's been written before Season 3 aired doesn't necessarily feel like the characters stem from the same place. Or, there's some genericness in there. (Or maybe book influence?). Idk, it's been interesting trying to navigate it though.

(Also - there's an interesting trend of Colin being written like Anthony, but I suppose that's a thought for another post.)

Anyway - sorry for the lack of answer and the diatribe side tangent, but yeah, it's an interesting thought though. <3

Klaine Advent 2020 (day 5)

Summary: Sam and Blaine play video games

Day Five: Event

It was one of the rare weekends when Sam was in the city. Partly to see Mercedes, who was still recording her new album here, and partly to get out of Ohio. As much as Sam loved teaching at McKinley, he needed some inspiration for weekly assignments. Blaine happily invited Sam to come over and play video games while they figured out how to challenge the New Directions.

“So where’s Kurt?” Sam asked, pulling away from their hug.

“Oh, he’s got some work event,” Blaine informed him, “I’ve barely seen him this week myself.”

Sam followed Blaine into the living area where his best friend had set up game controllers and snacks.

“How’s living together working out for you guys?”

Blaine beamed. “Really, really great.”

“I’m happy for you man.” Sam clapped him on the back.

Without further ado, they started to play.

“It’s just so different not having a Rachel in the group or a Blaine for that matter.”

“You don’t need a star, Sam,” Blaine said, “Kurt once told the Warblers that our downfall might be having one soloist. And he was right. At my time attending Dalton, we never made it past regionals.”

“Man, I wish Kurt was here. He was a great glee coach.”

“Was he?” Blaine asked.

He knew Kurt loved the New Directions when he was there briefly but Blaine hadn’t really witnessed Kurt as a coach.

“Yeah, dude, the kids still talk about him. When Madison and Mason start their weird twin telepathy I just know they’re comparing me to Kurt.”

“I doubt that, Sam.” Blaine rolled his eyes. “You’re a great teacher.”

“Well, better than Rachel. That’s for sure. I had to ban trash talk in the choir room for two weeks after she left. Those kids had some pretty rough feedback for her style.”

Blaine lost a life staring in disbelief at Sam.

“Dude focus!” Same exclaimed.

“Sorry,” Blaine said, “they really didn’t like Rachel?”

Sam just shrugged in response like he figured it was obvious how bad of a teacher Rachel had been.

Before Blaine could ask anymore questions, the front door opened. Both of them paused the game to watch Kurt do his usual balancing act. His left arm was covered with various shopping bags and a garment bag was draped over the other. His satchel was half falling off his shoulder and he almost dropped the to-go coffee cup in his right hand as he dropped his keys in the bowl beside the door.

Blaine was less impressed than Sam was but only because he saw Kurt do this at least twice a week.

“Hey boys,” Kurt greeted them after he had disappeared into the bedroom to drop off everything.

He went right over to Blaine and kissed him, lifting him a little off the couch before giving Sam a hug.

“Did you guys eat lunch yet?” Kurt asked, already having moved from the living room to the kitchen.

“We were going to order in,” Blaine told him.

He could hear Kurt moving around in there likely fixing himself something to eat.

“Kurt, you should eat pizza with us!” Sam suggested.

“Can’t, diet,” Kurt said, carrying his plate with a small salad and half sandwich on it.

He took a sip of Blaine’s diet soda before sitting himself on the ground to eat.

“Want me to call for pizza?” Sam asked.

“Sure, menu’s on the fridge.”

“How was work?” Blaine asked, brushing his fingers along the back of Kurt’s neck.

He loved when Kurt would sit in front of him allowing for affection touches.

“Busy, I have to go back in after this.”

“I miss you,” Blaine said.

Kurt put his sandwich down and moved up into the couch. He kissed Blaine again, deeper now that Sam wasn’t around. Holding his face in his hands and making sure Blaine could taste the aioli from his sandwich.

“I love you,” Kurt told him.

Blaine hummed in agreement, still gathering his thoughts after that kiss. By the time Sam returned, having ordered the pizza, Kurt was back on the floor finishing up his own lunch. No evidence to prove he had altered Blaine’s ability to think in the slightest.
