Hong Kong: Chinese control and the future of protest, October 18, 2024
In Hong Kong, protests have fallen silent. The Chinese state is more restrictive than ever. Back in 2019, artists were among those who took to the streets to demonstrate against the curtailing of basic rights. How are they doing, five years on? Unlike many of his contemporaries, multimedia artist Samson Young chose to remain in Hong Kong rather than going into exile. Young plays with codes and hidden references in his complex art installations. Filmmaker Kiwi Chow also stayed. He sold the rights to an internationally acclaimed documentary about the 2019 protest movement to a friend outside the country. Others felt they could no longer stay in Hong Kong, like Kacey Wong, who now lives and works in Taiwan. Despite their different paths, these artists all ask themselves the same question: Will Hong Kong ever be as free as it was before the protests, or will Beijing’s grip get even tighter? What’s a good food that peafowls tend to really like! I have tried blue berries and they seemed to really enjoy that!
I have some fruits at home and I can safely feed them as they live in my city
Mainly mangos, plantains,Asian pear, and apple!
They can eat mangos, plantains, pears, and apples, but they probably WON'T eat mangoes or apples. they MIGHT eat pears, and they'll probably eat plantains (idk how sweet plantains are, but if they taste anything like bananas, then peafowl love banana so they should go for it). They prefer small bites of things, but I've never had a bird who enjoyed the taste of plain apples or was particularly impressed with mango, if they'll even try it in the first place. I've never had a pea willing to eat papaya at all, they won't even touch it here.
Beloved favorite fruits here are blueberries, watermelon (cut in half and just put out, they will Destroy it with glee), cantelope (more hesitant, but once they figure it out they love it just cut in half and put out for them), blackberries, cherries (pitted), raspberries (especially black raspberries), bananas (cut up), and cut grapes (they'll SOMETIMES eat whole ones if they're small but they may ignore whole grapes if they're too large to be appealing and they can't taste juice). They prefer darker grapes to green grapes. If they're offered nothing better, they'll eat cutup strawberries, pears, apples, peaches, and honeydew melon, but it's Under Protest. Mine won't touch papaya or kiwi or citrus fruits (except Bug, who loves canned mandarin oranges).
I know it's not fruit, but they will also eat veggies, just less enthusiastically. I've found boiling carrots to make them just a LITTLE softer gets better results. They love cucumber, tomato, and basically any kind of pepper (even hot ones, capsaicin doesn't affect them like it does mammals). They can be offered cooked potato, but raw should be avoided. Raw or cooked sweet potato is fine, but they're more likely to eat cooked. Pumpkin is also fine in any state, and they will delight in Destroying a raw one cut in half- same goes for any pumpkin-like squash like spaghetti or acorn or whatever.
They also really like cooked pasta, like elbow macaroni, roasted peanuts, raw shrimp (cut up), small raw fish (minnows, guppies, goldfish, mollies, platies, baby panfish like bluegill fry, etc), f/t pinkie mice, live bugs (crickets, dubia roaches, superworms, mealworms, waxworms, hornworms (domestically raised blue ones, the green ones that have fed on tomato plants may contain toxic amounts of solanine), silkworms, etc), and leafy greens (though if yours are free range ferals that's probably not as appealing). You can by processed treats, they really like suet nuggest, preferably in blueberry or other fruit flavors, but they'll eat the normal stuff too.
Mine also really like a bowl of their normal chow, with water added to make it soft. They can lack enthusiasm for a lot of raw/fresh foods, but they always bicker over who gets to eat the wet chow first.

Safi: I thought you said this was a key lime pie?
Dahlia: No, I said kiwi lime. That’s what makes it so special.
Safi: That’s what’s gonna kill me. I’m allergic to kiwi.
Dahlia: Oh- get your scarf, we’re going to the doctor.
Bazeema: Is he gonna be okay?
Dahlia: Yeah, he’s just gotta get a shot.
Safi: But I’m supposed to be babysitting Valentino! We can’t bring a goat to the doctor.
Dario: We’ll watch him!
Safi: I don’t think so.
Hal: Come on, we can do it, right guys?
Gabo: Not what I was hoping to do today, but I guess…
Safi: Okay, well, if you take him for a walk, make sure he’s on a leash so he doesn’t get lost. And there’s extra goat chow in the cabinets, and you might need to refill his water.
Dario: Water, goat chow… got it!

Webkinz Recipes by the Midnight Monster!
Totally didn't go the Cookie Monster route on this one. Nope. I just got a Midnight Monster whom I have dubbed Ickbarr Bigelsteine.
"Chudga Bugs" Mouse Munch (If you know what Puppy Chow is, it's that, but with rice crispy cereal instead of chex)
"Blueberry Parfait" Peanut Butter Yogurt Parfait with Mini Pretzels (The Webkinz recipe contained peanuts, so I included one with peanut butter. Of course you can always make one without)
"Veggie Dip" Easy Veggie Dip (The vegetables you eat with this will help give you the nutrients that the rest of these recipes are lacking. Maybe)
"Kablookie Sandwich" Cookie Monster Cookies (This recipe doesn't have dye, gluten, nuts or eggs, and is vegetarian; but they give some instruction for regular flour and butter. You could also make cookies and stick some kiwi slices and blueberries between them, but I feel like that would be kinda soggy)
"Sweet Echocoa" Graveyard Gravel Fudge (Fudge rolled into little pebbles and covered in powdered sugar and cocoa powdered. cmon I know you want to eat rocks)
"Webkinz Cookie Tornado" Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Blizzard (The dough is made here; it doesn't have egg and the flour should be heat treated first, to reduce risk of illness from raw flour. If you are susceptible to illness I'd take caution)
Pet Specific "Musty Mushrooms" Peeping Mushroom Pasta (You have to arrange the pasta upright in whatever containers you are cooking in, then stick little thin mushrooms in there. On one hand, it looks adorably weird. On the other hand, it reminds me too much of Runners (DO NOT SEARCH)
Part 1 Dreamy Sheep
Part 2 Pink Poodle
Part 3 Cocoa Dinosaur and Marshmallow Bunny

LyLu is seriously growing on me more than it already has. This is such an underrated ship!
I hope you enjoy!
Romeo! Stop! (Lyon x Lucy ft. Romeo and Wendy)
Lucy sat at the bar, sipping on a strawberry milkshake and reading her favorite book for the umpteenth time. She enjoyed the calmness of the guildhall and the freedom from her teammates. Natsu and Happy had gone off a job together, Gray was somewhere with Juvia, and Erza was at Fairy Hills due to a fierce fever.
The blonde looked closed her book and turned around to look at her guildmates. Levy and Gajeel were talking about something while Panther Lily chowed down on a large bowl of kiwis, Mira was laughing as Macao and Wakaba flirted with her, Laxus and the Thunder Legion were sitting at their usual place as they talked about something they seemed to interest all four of them, and the rest of the mages were drinking, talking, or looking at the job request board.
Lucy smiled at the sight, sighing contentedly. She turned back around to continue drinking her milkshake and resume her book. A few minutes passed when she felt someone tap her shoulder. She turned around to find Lyon standing there, his hands stuffed into his coat's pockets.
Lucy closed her book and laid it on her lap, speaking as she did so, "hey, Lyon! What are you doing here?"
She watched as Lyon looked back at the mages behind him, as if he was scanning the crowd and looking for someone, before he looked back at her and answered, "I came to visit."
Lucy raised an eyebrow and questioned, "really? You're not here to visit a certain someone?" Her smile widened. knowing that he had feelings for Juvia.
Lyon shook his head as he sat next to her. "I just don't have anything else to do. I've been banned from going on jobs because I injured my leg on the last one."
"Really? I thought that you wanted to see Juvia."
"No. I've moved on from her."
Lucy looked at him in surprise. "You have?" When the man nodded, she grinned at him again as she questioned with a teasing tone, "who do you have your eyes on now?"
She watched as Lyon blushed and looked away from her as he stuttered out a sorry attempt at an answer. She laughed at his reaction and leaned away from him, resting against the bar behind her. She then asked, dropping her teasing, "were you looking for Gray?"
Lyon shook his head again. This confused Lucy. Surely he had a reason beyond a simple visit to be here. She then asked, "so, you were just planning to hang around?"
Lyon chuckled before he nodded. "yeah, I guess. Although, I was also kind of hoping for a fight with him."
Lucy laughed at that. She took a sip of her milkshake and questioned, "how have you been? How's Lamia Scale?"
"Pretty good. Lamia Scale is Lamia Scale. Sherry and Ren are going steady."
"That's great."
"How have you and your friends been?"
"Great. Natsu and Happy are on a job, Gray and Juvia are somewhere, and Erza is sick."
Lyon turned on his stool and rested an arm on the bar to face Lucy. He opened his mouth to speak when Lucy clamped a hand over his mouth and muttered to him, "be quiet."
Lucy felt Lyon push her hand off of his face, but she didn't know if he followed her gaze to look at what she was staring at, as her eyes were locked on Romeo and Wendy walking out of the guild through the back doors. She stood up and followed after the two young teenagers, worry rising from within her. She heard Lyon follow after her, but she paid him no mind. Yesterday, she had heard Romeo inform his father that he was going to confess his feelings to Wendy. The problem with this, however, was that Wendy and Chelia were already dating. Lucy knew that Romeo was in for a world of hurt and this knowledge caused her to feel the need to comfort him.
The two mages ended up hiding behind the slightly open back doors of the guildhall, listening to the conversation that was happening on the other side. Romeo was the first to speak, "Wendy, I have something I need to tell you."
Wendy responded instantly, "of course, Romeo! What is it?"
There were a few seconds-long hesitations before Romeo finally spoke, "I love you, Wendy, and I want to ask if you'd like to go on a date with me?"
Then, there was silence. Lucy tightened her grip on the doorknob, her heart twisted in sympathy for Romeo. After what seemed to be hours, Wendy gave her answer, "I'm sorry, Romeo, but I don't feel the same way. I'm sorry."
When the door began to open, Lucy and Lyon moved out of the way, both watching as Wendy walked past them and back into the guild. Lucy quickly moved through the open back doors and make her way to Romeo. She placed her hands on the boy's shoulders as she mumbled, "are you alright?"
Romeo was silent for a few moments before he pushed her away and walked back into the guildhall. Lucy watched him with worry clear on her face. She looked at Lyon when he asked, "Are you okay?"
Lucy shook her head, answering, "never mind me." She then looked back at the now-closed doors and muttered, half to herself and half to Lyon, "I have a bad feeling."
"I think you're overthinking this."
Lyon and Lucy walked toward Fairy Hills, looking for Romeo. Lucy responded, "I just need to make sure that Romeo doesn't try to do anything that'll ruin Wendy and Chelia's relationship."
"What makes you think that he will?"
"Romeo is still a kid and kids don't think things through, especially when they are hurting."
"Hm...I suppose that makes sense."
"Look, you can go back to the guild, but I need to find Romeo."
"No. I'll come with you. I don't really know any of your other guildmates, so I wouldn't have anything to do."
"Besides wait for Gray so you can kick his ass?"
"Exactly!"
Lucy and Lyon chuckled. When the celestial wizard looked back at the Fairy Hills building, she spotted Romeo walking up to the doors. Lucy called as she rushed toward him, Lyon following after her, "Romeo! Stop!"
The young fire mage turned around and watched as the two mages ran to him, waiting for them to reach him before he snapped, "why are you here?"
Lucy raised her hands, worry clear on her face, and she spoke, "Romeo, what are you doing?"
Romeo turned back around, answering, "nothing that concerns you."
When he reached for the doorknob, Lucy caught sight of a piece of paper in his hand. She launched forward and snatched it away from him, dodging as the young teenager tried to grab the paper back. Lucy looked at what she was holding, finding that in her hand were two pieces of paper. She opened them both and found that they were short letters, one addressed to Wendy and the other to Chelia. They were each full of insults toward the young girls.
Lucy turned to Romeo and demanded, "what are these?"
She allowed Lyon to look at the letters as Romeo tried and failed to come up with something to say. Before Lucy could scold the kid, Lyon berated him, "you can't really think that this is a good idea! Look, kid, rejection hurts, nobody will deny that, but that doesn't give you any right to interfere in someone else's relationships."
Romeo started, "but-"
Lyon interrupted, "Quiet! Wendy told you that she isn't interested, and you need to accept that!"
The ice-make mage continued to scold Romeo, however, his voice was muffled as Lucy watched him. She felt her cheeks heat up and her stomach was filled with butterflies as she took notice of the man's attractiveness, especially when he was impassioned. How had she never noticed until now? Why was she just now noticing? She placed a hand over her heart, feeling that it had picked up its pace slightly.
"...right, Lucy?"
She was brought out of her thoughts when Lyon looked at her, his brow furrowed. Lucy looked between him and Romeo before she said, "um...yeah...yes, Romeo, you can't ruin Wendy's relationship just because she rejected you! She is happy and you are just going to have to get over her!"
Romeo looked down at the ground before he huffed and walked away, toward the guildhall. Lyon commented, "I don't think he's entirely convinced."
Lucy responded, "I'll talk to his father."
"Good idea. Hey, Lucy."
Lucy turned to Lyon as she gave a short hum in response, waiting for him to continue. The ice-make mage looked at her with a charming smile on his face and a faint blush dusted across his cheeks as he asked, "would you like to go out sometime?"
Lucy felt her cheeks heat up once again. She looked away, a smile spread across her face, before she answered, "I'd really like that."

Foods You Can Eat Without Gaining Weight Copy
Foods You Can Eat Without Gaining Weight - Eat and not gain weight. That's the dream aye? And NOT gaining is critical when you’re trying to lose weight, right? You cut calories, exercise, and you'll cut fat. And also anything that’s crammed with carbs, sweetened with sugar or dipped in a deep fryer is suddenly a big no-no, nada, off-limits! But eating healthy & trying to lose weight doesn’t have to require deprivation. Many delicious (and healthy) foods can still be part of your dining repertoire. Some members of the produce family are so light in calories and fat that you can eat them with (relative) abandon.
Foods You Can Eat Without Gaining Weight
Vegetable love
The one category of foods that you can eat loads of without suffering the consequences of weight gain are non-starchy vegetables. Mostly any vegetable besides potato, corn and peas, you can eat endlessly, for instance. A cup of chopped broccoli or a grilled portobello mushroom contains just 30 calories and less than 1 gram of fat. You can chow down on two entire cups of lettuce and consume less than 16 calories. Because of its high water content, a whole tomato has a mere 22 calories. Cauliflower, kale, carrots and sprouts are similarly nutrient-dense and light in calories. These produce mainstays bring a few other things to the table. What makes them so incredible and so beneficial for weight maintenance and weight loss is they are high in macro-nutrients and micro-nutrients . And they’re rich in fiber. Fiber keeps your blood sugar levels stable, which helps you avoid sudden attacks of the munchies that might otherwise make you crave junk foods. 10 Healthy Foods You Can Eat Without Gaining Weight Indulge in these to your heart’s content, along with a balanced diet. - Celery - Lettuce - Watermelon - Broccoli and cauliflower - Grapefruit - Mushrooms - Berries (strawberries, blueberries, blackberries) - Kiwi - Carrots - Spinach and kale
If vegetables aren’t your favorite, you might be thinking how unappealing this way of eating sounds. But there are ways to spice up your veggies to make them more palatable. Roast them in olive oil spray, then add a blend of garlic and other herbs and spices. YUM! If you love dip, try salsa to add even more vegetables into the mix. Or blend a ranch flavor packet into plain Greek yogurt. Now you have a really high-protein, very healthy dip that you can use along with your vegetables.
What about fruit? Fruits are a different story. With most of them, you don’t want to go overboard. Grapes are a perfect example. A lot of people love to snack on grapes and could eat the whole bag in an afternoon without really thinking about it. But grapes are a high-sugar food. Keeping most fruits to a cup-and-a-half for the day is a good goal to have. The exceptions are berries (strawberries, blueberries, blackberries), kiwi and grapefruit. These fruits are high in fiber and low on the glycemic index — which means they won’t boost your blood sugar too much. Just be careful before eating grapefruit to make sure it doesn’t interact with any medications (such as statins) you take. And don’t load it up with sugar to make it taste sweeter. Filling up the healthy way If you’re looking for all-you-can-eat foods, it may be worth revisiting your entire diet to make sure it’s satisfying. When people eat the right meals throughout the day, that tends to fill them up much more, and they don’t have that constant hunger.
Many other foods pack a powerful nutritional punch for their calorie count. Examples are healthy proteins such as fish, chicken, tofu or beans, which should be part of each meal. You also want to add healthy fats from nuts and olive oil, vegetables and whole grains such as quinoa or brown rice to your meals. These foods will create satiety, and you can go longer without feeling that urge to snack, so you won’t overindulge.
Snacking on other high-protein, high-fiber foods will help to hold you over until dinnertime. A can of tuna, an apple with a tablespoon of peanut or almond butter, a handful of nuts, a cup of plain air-popped popcorn, a half-cup of cottage cheese or a hard-boiled egg all make excellent options. Though they do contain calories, they’re high in protein, so you won’t be tempted to overeat at your next meal. Drinking a glass of water or having a cup of bone broth (which contains protein in the form of collagen) might also help fill you up before a meal. Revamping your diet When it comes to dieting, the aim is not “How low can you go?” Your body needs calories for energy. Try to focus less on the numbers and more on the overall quality of your diet. The most important thing is to eat whole foods — ones that aren’t processed in a factory. Eating nothing but low-calorie foods could rob your body of the nutrients it needs, such as the calcium that keeps your bones strong. Plus it could leave you starving and have the opposite of the intended effect. Those low-calorie diets lead to blood sugar instability and harsh crashes. You’re bound to crash at some point and overcompensate with even more food than you had originally planned to eat.
When making changes to your diet, you don’t need to go it alone. It’s preferable to get some help from your primary care doctor or a dietitian. Your doctor can check your vitamin and cholesterol levels to make sure you safely embark on your new way of eating. A dietitian can assess your needs and create a meal plan that’s not only tailored to your goals but also sustainable over the long term. Can Foods Have ‘Negative’ Calories? Some fruits and veggies, notably celery, grapefruit and cucumber, have been touted as “negative-calorie foods.” The premise is that these foods are so low in calories that the very act of chewing and digesting them burns more calories than the foods contain. Hm, OOOKAY. Sounds good but, it this real? It might seem a logical assumption. After all, celery is mostly water, and a whole stalk contains less than 6 calories. For a while, drinking celery juice on an empty stomach was all the rage with dieters. But what limited research exists on the subject has pretty much debunked the negative-calorie claim. Researchers tested out the negative-calorie hypothesis by feeding celery to humans, as well as to bearded dragon lizards, and in most cases, it was a mostly BS. Bottom line: Celery certainly won’t make you gain weight, but it won’t take weight off, either. Read the full article

6月2日 - Free Day | Sweets, Rain, and Karaoke
Today was our first free day which I was super excited about. It rained all day, adding to the coziness and slow pace atmosphere. While the day began chill and relaxing, it quickly took a turn into intense adventure and navigation. And it all started because an old friend and I from Japan wanted to simply meet and hang out (which was really fun despite practically walking through a typhoon to get to her).
•••
Lulu Cafe ☕️🥞
After sleeping past 9 AM, I went with two classmates to a local cafe only a 15-minute walk from the ryokan. The cafe was in a hotel and was quite modern, small, and chic. We all got French toast which was gorgeous visually and deliciously sweet. The French toast was topped with French vanilla ice cream, and the toast was warm, fluffy, and had an eggy taste (which was surprisingly great). In addition to the rainy mood outside, I enjoyed a lovely relaxing morning.
Resting back at the Ryokan 🏨♨️
After the cafe, I returned to the ryokan to rest for a few hours before making my way to Nishi-Waseda station to meet with my old friend from high school of 4 years who currently attends Waseda University. Unfortunately, we could never meet in person as she was supposed to study abroad in Florida, but it sadly got canceled due to the pandemic. So as I waited for the time to leave out, I relaxed in the 6th-floor lounge area for a bit. It was nice and quiet as most people were out and about for the day.
Subway Line Confusion 🚉💳
In trying to meet up with my friend, I got on the wrong connecting train opposite of the Nishi-Waseda station (though I did manage to get on the right line, just the wrong platform). Luckily she helped me out, and we met at Meiji jinngumae. It was so nice to finally see her face to face and embrace each other in warm hugs.
IKEA 🪑🛋️
First, on our list of things to do together, we just had to go into an Ikea. As an architecture and interior design major, my friend has found solace in looking through Ikea in her free time. And as an HGTV connoisseur, I, too, enjoy looking at furniture and imagining false scenarios of where I would place each piece in a fictional house for my client (obviously rich, of course). We also ate kiwi ice cream while we critiqued the make and design choice of the furniture displayed in Ikea, which was very 美味しい (‘oishii”).
Hachiya 🍧✨
After critiquing all the displayed furniture in Ikea, we had to eat more trendy sweets, of course. So we went to a nearby shaved ice place called “hachiya” (I think that’s what it was called). The shaved ice was massive, and the flavor we got was tiramisu with coffee filling. While chowing down on the delicious sweet, we had equally delicious conversations about various topics (boys, musicals, fashion, university, etc.)
Karaoke 🎤🎵
Once full of sweets, we went to a karaoke place where we sang our hearts out to Ariana Grande, Bruno Mars, and a couple of Vocaloid songs. It was fun to adlib, dance, and joke around together as we put on quite the performance. It was also my first time ever going to a karaoke place!
•••
With karaoke wrapping down, my host sister needed to make her way home, and I needed to return back to my ryokan to complete my blog post. Despite my free day starting out chill, I actually ended up pleasantly meeting and spending precious time with my friend. Connections and friendships made internationally are important to maintain. So while I could’ve canceled on my friend and stayed inside while the rain surged on, choosing to spend time with her was more valuable and precious than I ever could have imagined. You never know how long you have with those close to you, so I think if today reaffirmed anything for me, it would be to take the opportunities when you’re able to spend with loved ones; you never know the effect and lasting memories it’ll have not only on them but you as a person.

Kiwi Update!
I had decided go ahead with getting a DNA test for Kiwi in early 2022 and the results are, drum roll please!
*drum roll*
Kiwi is mixed with Siberian husky, pitbull terroir, border collie, Alaskan malamute, German Shepherd, boxer, and super mutt (basically a Samoyed & Chow-Chow). A lot to sink in, I know! But at least I know what the old gal is mixed with. Y’all may think, “wow! She must be a big dog!” Wrong! She’s about coffee table height, basically short & stubby, but a tough one.
Kiwi will be 12yrs old this spring, and despite being classified as a “senior dog” she can still jump around and have zoomies (she is more energetic in winter, but in summer she prefers the AC. Me too Kiwi, me too).
Anywho, here’s a pic of what she now looks like. Some days she looks like a trash panda, and on other days she’s a gothic granny. (She still has a tail, she’s just wagging it so fast my camera can’t capture it fast enough)
I forgot to mention that I've been a dogmom since September! Her name is Kiwi: she is about 9yrs old (technical in her late 50s in human years), and she is the cutest doggo I have seen. If you haven’t noticed, she has one blue eye and one brown eye! I've been asked a lot from neighbors/acquaintances/friends what breed she is; she appears to be a Berger Picard (lookup Winn Dixie), while my mom says mini wolfhound with schnauzer & raccoon. I'm debating whether to get a dog DNA test kit or not. Overall, she's a heccin good girl that is food motivated, friendly with other humans & dogs, and is vocal whenever she needs to go outside. I love this pupper so much and she will be forever loved and spoiled.

Photo
Food is the primary love language in Demon Girl Next Door. Momo and Shamiko feed each other in almost every single episode. Note: these posts will note those moments of particularly Momo and Shamiko feeding each other, but the photosets will focus on the more glamorous food shots (and cooking tidbits) in the series. Hence why the fruit plate is featured for ep 12 instead of the popsicles. Season 1, episodes 6 through 12 Episode 7: Shamiko took boxes of their leftovers to Momo's (bunch of smaller side dishes, pork/bean sprout/egg stew, and chicken hamburger steak). The two of them also ate mochi balls together (thin mochi layer stuffed with red adzuki paste, cream, and a large strawberry inside), and drank cold tea. Episode 8: Extremely low-key, but Momo offers Shamiko some Momo-fied magic drank during their physical training session (possibly the same drink featured in episode 10?). Mikan also offered Momo some Mikan jam wafer cakes to stay at her place. Episode 9: Shamiko, Mikan, and Lilith shared a bucket of popcorn at the cinema. No wonder Momo got completely jealous! Back at Momo's place, Shamiko starts making a tofu/cabbage/bean sprout hotpot for the three of them, but peaces out in the face of the drama awkwardness before her. Also mentioned: Zombie Shark vs. Sushi Shark, and some kind of "ricemaker head sentai" movie that shows a yakisoba pan in the background. In addition, at the end of the cinema outing, Mikan's curse caused the popcorn machine to go berserk, and Shamiko got to take all of that extra popcorn home and apparently "happily ate it for days after". NO WONDER MOMO IS SO JEALOUS OF THE TWO OF THEM. Episode 10: Momo makes Shamiko a special protein drink ("broccoli, protein powder, a variety of mysterious pills, strips of chicken meat warmed up by a magical girl until they turn a strange color"). Shamiko makes a chow mein for Momo at her place ("Microwave frozen udon to defrost. Substitute tuna for meat. Season mentsuyu with oyster sauce, sugar, and sake. Use sesame oil and some ginger paste."). Mikan brings orange ice cream to share. Episode 11: Shamiko brings a bento into Momo's dreamscape as a bribe, but Momo has them share it instead. They share barley tea with Yoshida Mom. Episode 12: Mikan tries to have Shamiko eat an orange to fortify her Vitamin C. Shamiko and Momo share popsicles on the hill. Mikan makes a fruit plate (orange and kiwi, probably mint) at Momo's place.

shout-out to the folk saying that they do cut the kiwi in half, but instead of using utensils to carve out the actually tasty bit, attempt to chow down lesbian style but, and i quote, with “teeth”
