Because I do, and I’m still half-convinced I hallucinated the whole thing.

When Grimlock comes through the door, he is pleasantly shocked that Howlback runs to him directly, and he picks her up like she's made of tinshear. "Don't be afraid," he tells her, and he's not using the fake Dinobot cant, either. "I will never let anyone hurt you."

Then he frowns. "We got problems, Swoop," he says. At last he looks directly at Brainstorm.

"Knew it was one of you two," he says after a moment. "So you understand, Brainstorm--I do have your life in my claws. All I have to do is tell the Prime that you are Soundwave's mech."

He puts his finger to Howlback's muzzle.

"Don't argue," he tells her. "I won't. Unless he gives me reason to. I'm still thinking this through. Rodimus made me a lot of of promises over comms. But he started the whole conversation by calling us all 'half-beasts.' He keeps saying that you'll be respected if you become a Primalist. And you could, you know. I know you can lie, Howlback. I've seen you do it before."

"I've been a slave," Howlback says. "Of course I can fucking lie, Grim."

Grimlock nods. "Decepticons don't like to lie. Always thought that was funny, me." He pauses to mask-kiss the top of her head. "You did four things with me a thousand times when we were young. You did the fifth one more than once. You are my wife and you're not going to leave me again."

Brainstorm clears his throat. "She's not property--"

"Of course she's not property. Prowl owned her contract when she made those promises," Grimlock said, shaking his head. "Not legally binding. But vows are vows."

Howlback looks up at him, suddenly boggled as she realises what incident he is referring to. "That was supposed to be a real wedding? We were in a casino! That wasn't even really Rosanna! Grim, we were drunk as fuck!"

Grimlock throws his head back and laughs. "Not legal," he said. "We were both filthy animals under the law, after all. But you did all the acts that you said you'd done, and you've done them again, many times. You are mine and you said so yourself."

Howlback sighs, but she rests her head on his chest. "I don't want to leave you," she says, "but I'd rather not be with you here."

"There are other options," says Brainstorm. "I'm sure your family will be far more open to accepting him once they know that he actually is your conjunx. And not just..venting out his aft."

Howlback shook her head, then looked up at Grimlock. "I'm surprised Prime hasn't broken the law and offered to marry us."

Grimlock sighed. "I may have ended the conversation before he could go there. There really was a scuffle going on, and nobody but me is allowed to help you draw your innermost."

"Unbelievable," said Howlback, and facepawed.

“Yes,” says Brainstorm. “I suppose I am. How else am I supposed to find out if she’s dead or alive when she doesn’t pick up her comms?”

He drops down out of the ceiling. “Some of the rowdier members of the crew have taken it upon themselves to indulge in a spot of casteist terrorism.”

“So it is you,” Howlback responds after a moment. “You didn’t have to wait this long to make contact.”

“I don’t know what you mean,” Brainstorm says with a shrug. “But if I’d been meaning to contact you sooner about potentially nefarious activities…I wouldn’t have been able to. Would I? Your paramour hasn’t been letting you out to mingle with the rest of the crew, and…”

“And Swoop suggested that they might start tracking my comm. So I turned it off.” Howlback in-vented. “I know where the bugs are in here and have placed myself in an area where the crew will have quite a bit of difficulty understanding what I say out loud or tracking me by sight. Tracking a comm is ridiculously easy.”

Then she frowned. “Paramour? That sounds like something from a novel that Ravage would read.”

“Him Grimlock say that some Autobots want favour of him Prime, hunting anyone maybe loyal to Creator.” Swoop confirmed, tersely. “ ... Me not trust you jet. You stay back from her Cat, no try tell anyone we here. Not unless you want fight Dinos.” 

His wingsails bunched, and Swoop ducked his helm a little, giving Brainstorm a narrow eyed look of suspicion. “Him Grimlock come soon, me think.”

I LOVE Grimlock. He is my favorite transformer other than Optimus. The pictures of the two favorite versions which is G1 and Fall of Cybertron. One personal head canon/interpretation of his character is that Grimlock and the other dinobots feel like their dinosaur forms are their true forms while the "robot" form is their "alt-form" unlike the rest of the transformers. When the dinobots are in dinosaur mode they are stronger and move in a more natural way. In most of G1 and into G2 Grimlock is in his t-rex mode more than his robot mode completing multiple feats of strength and intelligence. My second head canon/interpretation is from Fall of Cybertron where he learns of his new dinosaur form given to him by Shockwave. However, unlike his teammates Grimlock doesn't like his new form that much and makes a lot of comments about feeling gross. I like the characterization of his body dysmorphia, it adds a lot to his rage and anger as he is really just angry at his body. So I like to think that Grimlock has a type of self-hatred towards his dinosaur form despite giving him an edge on strength and ability. He yearns for his old cybertronian form and takes it out on his enemies. I'm not usually a fan of characters I like having a lot of trauma but in the Fall of Cybertron origin it makes sense because Shockwave's experiments were basically torture. Also, he's a dinosaur and I love dinosaurs!

Holy shit, Grimlock.

Dead End isn’t afraid, but he’s not stupid, either, and as much as he talks about death, he’s not wanting to bite the big one, either.

Even if the Dinobot looks raggedy as the Pit, Dead End isn’t taking any bets.

Maybe if he stands real still, he won’t see him.
