I think I’ve officially figured out what gave me that dermatitis the other week, I’m pretty confident now that it was this Cetaphil eye gel-cream I was using. I’ve slowly been using my hyaluronic acid and that eye cream again, and last night after I took a shower, I put on some of that eye cream and it started to burn. I wiped it off, and this morning, my eyes still kinda itch/burn, but I did apply some hydrocortisone cream the ER prescribed to me.
#well damn… I gotta look into a new eye cream once I get a job and make some money#my doctor recommended to me using products from the brand ‘kiehls’#Idk if their stuff is good cuz I’ve never heard of anybody using their products but I’ll give it a shot#jazz uses curse! 💜

“Thank you” to my shitty mother for completely dismissing my concern about how my eyelids have been swollen/puffy this whole winter and how I wanna see my doctor for this, worried it’s contact dermatitis again before it gets worse than it has been, and telling me to “stop putting crap on my face”
#I’m tired of struggling with this dry sensitive skin and it just seems like it’s been getting worse over the past 5 years#I used to have oily skin my whole life until we moved out here into our house#and every winter these issues with my face gets worse#and I don’t have money to waste on buying and trying a bunch of products and see what works for me#I tried this eye cream by Kiehl’s cuz my doctor recommended the brand after I had contact dermatitis two years ago#but the smallest thing of this eye cream is like $40…#I finally got one in December cuz of cyber Monday sales and gift cards I had#idk bro… I hate my face/I hate my skin/I hate always feeling self conscious/I hate how my problems always gets dismissed

What is the gift card story?
Oh boy.
So when this happened, I worked at a Kiehl's. To those who don't know, it's a luxury skincare company that charges 80 bucks for a tub of moisturizer. Not even the specialty kind, either. It's honestly stupid overpriced for what it is except for a very small list of products and discount sets and I do not recommend it now that I'm no longer working there and can give my honest opinion of it.
The company also tries to feel special to embarrassing extents. They made us do this service where we'd basically sit you down and stick this machine to your cheek that was basically a flaw finder and we'd spend half an hour telling you everything wrong with you in an attempt to get you to drop 300 dollars on a 6 step routine. In all honesty, just wash your face, moisturize, and use sunscreen if youre going out in the sun. You don't need a 145 dollar anti aging serum, you cant permanently reverse aging, that's not how the science works, and aging isn't a curse or a sign of lesser worth anyway. It's a blessing not afforded to most. The stuff they claim they're "reversing" are usually just skin dehydration side effects. You get the same results from a run of the mill moisturizer. If your acne's persistent and uncomfortable then retinol serums do actually work for that, but don't fuck your self esteem by convincing yourself you need retinol to keep wrinkles from forming. It's not worth it, you'll end up with an empty wallet and depression and none of the lasting results you were promised the second you stop using it.
Anyway, we got quite an entitled customer base because of the combination of unaffordable price gouging and these frilly free services that made them feel special for 30 minutes of their disconnected bourgeois lives. The kind of people who think that theyre better than the employees because they got lucky enough to have a rich husband or nepotism'ed their way into high paying positions and convinced themselves that they're self-made. A lot of them im convinced only spent that much money because they could.
So one day this lady comes in and buys a hand cream. Shes a little rude and off-putting but whatever, she's not yelling at me over prices i cant control so pick your battles, right? I ring it through, ask how's she's paying, she says visa. I hand her the machine. She goes through the whole thing. It gets approved, I give her her reciept and say "have a nice day~!" to which she growls "why didn't you take my gift card?!"
This caught me off-guard, and I kinda blinked vacantly at her and went "I... w-what?"
She takes out a gift card from her wallet, which at no point she showed me or made me aware she had, and said "why didn't you take my gift card?!"
With all the self-control I can muster, I say "I... was not made aware that you had one, ma'am."
Apparently, this was the wrong thing to say. She started staring at me like she wanted me dead. Started going off about how the customer is always right and demanding a full refund while still keeping the hand cream. I told her that this is very much not a scenario where that would be appropriate.
Adult temper tantrum ensues. She calls me stupid and says that I clearly don't know anything. My eye is starting to twitch, and my manager on duty catches this interaction and gracefully saves me from cussing out a bitch by taking over and running a return, followed by a second transaction with the gift card as payment.
You wanna know how much was on it?
Two dollars.
Two fucking dollars. She pulled that shit and called me stupid and started throwing a temper tantrum over TWO. DOLLARS. In a store that charges FORTY for that bottle of hand cream. If you're dropping forty fucking dollars on hand cream in the middle of an inflation crisis worse than that America is going through, you can afford to swallow a toonie. If you're shopping there in 2023, you're not struggling enough that two dollars is a legitimate concern, you know very well what you're doing here, and I'm not gonna fucking have that as someone who was struggling to get by on 16 an hour.
So I got her banned from the store. Fuck off and die, toonie gift card lady.

It's important to note that the effectiveness of skincare products can vary from person to person based on skin type, concerns, and individual reactions. Additionally, new products may have been introduced since my last update in January 2022. Nevertheless, here are ten popular and highly regarded skincare products for the face as of my last knowledge update:
Cleanser: Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser
A mild, non-irritating cleanser suitable for all skin types.
Exfoliator: Paula's Choice Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliant
Contains salicylic acid to unclog pores and improve skin texture.
Moisturizer: CeraVe Moisturizing Cream
Non-comedogenic and suitable for sensitive skin, providing hydration without clogging pores.
Sunscreen: La Roche-Posay Anthelios Melt-in Milk Sunscreen SPF 60
Broad-spectrum protection with a lightweight texture.
Vitamin C Serum: Skinceuticals C E Ferulic
Known for its antioxidant properties, helps brighten and protect the skin.
Retinol Treatment: Neutrogena Rapid Wrinkle Repair Serum
Contains retinol to address fine lines and wrinkles.
Hyaluronic Acid Serum: The Ordinary Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5
Hydrates and plumps the skin, suitable for all skin types.
Toner: Thayers Witch Hazel Toner
Alcohol-free and soothing, helps balance the skin's pH.
Sheet Mask: Dr. Jart+ Dermask Water Jet Vital Hydra Solution
Provides intense hydration and is suitable for all skin types.
Eye Cream: Kiehl's Creamy Eye Treatment with Avocado
Nourishing and moisturizing, specifically designed for the delicate eye area.
Remember, when incorporating new products into your skincare routine, it's important to patch test and introduce them gradually to avoid potential reactions. Additionally, consulting with a dermatologist can provide personalized recommendations based on your skin's specific needs. Keep in mind that individual preferences and skin types may vary, so what works well for one person may not work as effectively for another.

Best Skin Care Products to Use When Having Eczema
With summer bringing in temperatures as high as 100 degrees, my eczema can't help but get irritated. Since I got eczema recently, it has been hard to find good products to use to avoid such irritation in the heat and for everyday wear. In this post I will be talking about non prescribed products that have helped my eczema clear up!
1.) Kiehls Ultra Facial Cream with Squalane ($45.00)
Before I start talking about the many benefits about this cream, I would like to point out the symbol at the bottom left. This is a MAJOR thing to look out for when shopping for eczema-prone skin. This symbol helps consumers know that it is safe to use on eczema. I always make sure to check boxes before buying facial products to make sure none of the ingredients would irritate my eczema.
This was the first product I used when I got eczema and was not prescribed any type of cream for it. Although it says it is a facial cream, it is also safe to use it on other places such as arms or legs. The reason why this is a great cream to use for eczema is because it contains 10.5% squalane. Squalane contains anti-inflammatory properties and reduces redness [1]. It is also a lightweight cream that does not clog your pores, which is good when it is meant to be applied overnight. Overall since it is a rehydrating mask, it takes away the flakiness of the skin and leaves it smoother by the next morning. This cream is also paraben-free and fragrance-free which is the number one thing to look at when buying skin creams.
2. Dove Deep Moisture Body Wash ($8.99)

Before, I would always pick out body washes that had the best scents. However, when I got eczema, I started to realize that the fragrance was making my eczema even more inflammated and dry. Fragrance is one of the worst things you can use on eczema-prone skin. That is why switching body washes is a major step to improving eczema! My personal favorite is the Dove Deep Moisture Body wash since it is fragrance free and sulfate free which hydrates the skin with each wash and avoids any dryness. It is also the #1 dermatologist recommended body wash brand [2].
3.) Cerave Healing Ointment ($19.99)

The image above shows how the Cerave Healing Ointment has improved someone's eczema under their eyes.
Since I struggle with eczema on the corners of my eyes, this ointment has been a life-saver. I saw improvements of my eczema overnight! The reason why this ointment works wonders is because it has ceramides that renew the skin's barrier and hyaluronic acid for hydration. I use this ointment around my eyes and sometimes lips overnight and wake up with hydrated skin.
I would like to also mention that Cerave is an overall great brand for someone who has eczema. Each product is developed with dermatologists, fragrance-free, and is gentle on the skin. I would like to mention their Foaming Facial Cleanser since I use it every night and leaves my skin clean and hydrated. This brand is perfect when trying to find products to relieve eczema.
4.) Aquaphor Lip Repair ($4.29)

This is probably my most frequently used thing I use compared to everything on this list. Since eczema has targeted my lips the most, I always need something hydrating to relieve the painful cracks, which Aquaphor Lip Repair always does. I tried to use the regular Aquaphor Healing Ointment on my lips and Vaseline, but it did not compare to the results I had with the Lip Repair. I do not recommend the Aquaphor Healing Ointment when outside because it does not contain any SPF compared to the Lip Repair. This can be damaging to someone who has eczema on the lips since hot weather is already damaging enough.
These are my top 4 products I swear by coming from someone who has eczema. I have noticed a great difference from using these products consistently. I hope this post is helpful to people who got eczema recently and are looking for products to improve any dryness, inflammation, or redness.

peaches - do you have a skincare routine?
Thank you for the ask, anon! Indeed, I do, and I love this topic!!
I have super sensitive skin so I can’t exfoliate very often (and I probably do it more often than I should), but most nights I do a cleanser (Kiehl’s is my go to!!) And I double cleanse if I’m wearing makeup. Then I put moisturizer on without drying my face. Sometimes I add a serum before putting on my moisturizer, depending on how tired I am 😅 I also use an eye cream after my moisturizer is mostly absorbed and I often put the eye cream all over my face because I have dryyy skin and I need all the moisture I can get haha Vaseline on my lips at bedtime.
In the mornings I almost never wash my whole face (it sounds gross I know but my skin actually feels so much better when I don’t wash it in the morning!) Sunscreen is all I do in the mornings (unseen sunscreen!), sometimes makeup on top of the sunscreen.
I also love face masks and I do them every so often, especially if I’m going out. I also exfoliate if I’m going out because my makeup just sits better on a fresh face, but then I pay for it later 😭 I’ve also started introducing retinol into my routine but I’m going slowly because I’m so scared it might fuck up my already sensitive skin. I’m also a big fan of niacinamide for my neck and chest and upper back but my face doesn’t like it so I had to stop forcing that relationship 🤷♀️
I think that’s it! Thanks again for the ask ❤️
Soft Asks

Idk if I’m slowing getting contact dermatitis on my eyes/eyelids again or if I have like some kinda eczema on my eyes that flares up in the winters now 😥 I’ve been doing a bunch of research cuz I really hope it’s not contact dermatitis like I had a year or so ago and idk what would happen or how much money I’d have to pay to like urgent care or ER if this gets worse. I’ve been avoiding applying anything on my eyes/eyelids, only putting on Vaseline. Gonna try to do warm/cold compresses, (carefully) massage eyelids with castor oil, buy 1% hydrocortisone and lightly/carefully apply, and keep applying Vaseline… god, fuck me 😓
#I hate how ever since we moved to our house/I’ve been struggling with dry skin and dry eyelids#like I literally don’t know what to do and don’t want to waste money on a bunch of products#can’t afford a dermatologist especially now since I have no insurance and it’s gonna take awhile to get that sorted#I think it gets this way in the winter cuz of the temperature change and it gets drier and stuff but idk for sure…#I bought an eye cream from the brand kiehl’s on Ulta on cyber Monday that my doctor recommended a couple years ago#but I got notified that the shipping is delayed :/#also my doctors told me when I first had contact dermatitis that dermatologists don’t see people for dry skin only so :/ … fuck me I guess

The Best Anti-Aging Skin Care Products for Every Age
As we age, our skin changes, and the quest for youthful, radiant skin becomes a lifelong journey. The good news is that with the right products, you can slow down the aging process and maintain healthy, glowing skin at any stage of life. Here's a breakdown of the best anti-aging skin care products for every age group, so you can choose what works best for you.
In Your 20s: Prevention is Key
In your 20s, your skin is still youthful, but it's never too early to start caring for it. The focus should be on prevention rather than correction. Look for lightweight moisturizers with SPF, such as a hydrating sunscreen like EltaMD UV Clear Broad-Spectrum SPF 46. This will protect your skin from the harmful effects of UV rays, which are one of the leading causes of premature aging. Additionally, use a gentle exfoliating product like The Ordinary Glycolic Acid 7% Toning Solution to remove dead skin cells and encourage cell turnover.
In Your 30s: Start Targeting Fine Lines
By your 30s, fine lines and wrinkles may start to appear, especially around the eyes and mouth. This is when you can begin incorporating products that help with skin rejuvenation. A serum like Skinceuticals C E Ferulic, which contains vitamin C and E, is ideal for reducing oxidative damage and boosting collagen production. At this stage, it's also important to add a richer moisturizer like Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Cream to keep skin hydrated and plump. Consider using a retinol product, such as RoC Retinol Correxion Deep Wrinkle Night Cream, which helps smooth fine lines and improves skin texture over time.
In Your 40s and Beyond: Repair and Restore
In your 40s and beyond, you’ll want to focus on repairing and restoring your skin's elasticity. Look for products with peptides, which stimulate collagen production, and hydrating ingredients like hyaluronic acid. A great option is Olay Regenerist Micro-Sculpting Cream, which combines peptides and niacinamide to help firm and tighten skin. For an extra boost, consider incorporating an eye cream like Neocutis Lumiere Firm Riche Extra Moisturizer to target sagging and dark circles.
No matter your age, consistency is the key to effective anti-aging. Start early, stay consistent, and choose products that address your skin’s unique needs to maintain a youthful complexion for years to come!

10 Must-Have Skincare Products Every Woman

Introduction
A consistent skincare routine is essential for maintaining healthy, glowing skin. Whether you're focused on feminine wellness, natural body care, or organic skincare, the right products can make all the difference. Your skin type—whether oily, dry, combination, or sensitive—plays a crucial role in determining which skincare products for women work best.
With so many options available, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed. That’s why we’ve curated a list of the 10 must-have skincare products that every woman should incorporate into her routine. From cleansing to sun protection, these essentials will help you achieve radiant skin while keeping it simple and effective.
Gentle Cleanser
Cleansing is the foundation of any skin and hair care routine. A good cleanser removes dirt, oil, and makeup without stripping the skin of its natural moisture.
Best for dry skin: Cream-based cleansers with hyaluronic acid
Best for oily skin: Gel or foaming cleansers with salicylic acid
Best for sensitive skin: Fragrance-free, sulfate-free formulas
Natural body care tip: Look for organic skincare cleansers with ingredients like chamomile or aloe vera for a soothing effect.
Recommended products:
VCare Products Hydrating Cleanser (for dry skin)
CeraVe Foaming Facial Cleanser (for oily skin)

Exfoliation removes dead skin cells, unclogs pores, and promotes cell turnover.
Chemical exfoliants (AHAs/BHAs): Gentle, great for acne-prone skin
Physical scrubs: Instant glow but avoid harsh scrubs if sensitive
Feminine wellness tip: Over-exfoliation can damage the skin barrier—limit to 2-3 times per week.
Best picks:
The Ordinary Glycolic Acid Toner (chemical)
Organic skincare option: Dr. Hauschka Cleansing Cream (gentle physical scrub)
Toner
Modern toners hydrate, balance pH, and prep skin for better absorption of serums and moisturizers.
Hydrating toners: With glycerin or rose water
Exfoliating toners: With witch hazel or niacinamide
Skincare products for women should avoid alcohol-heavy toners that dry out the skin.
Top choice:
Serum (Targeted Treatment)
Serums are powerhouses packed with active ingredients for specific concerns.
Vitamin C: Brightens skin and fights aging
Hyaluronic Acid: Deep hydration
Retinol: Anti-aging and acne control
Natural body care alternative: Rosehip oil (a natural retinol substitute)
Best serums:
VCare Products Brightening Serum (Vitamin C-based)
Moisturizer

Moisturizing locks in hydration and strengthens the skin barrier.
Gel moisturizers: Best for oily skin
Creams: Ideal for dry skin
Night creams: Richer formulas for repair
Organic skincare lovers: Try shea butter or jojoba oil-based moisturizers.
Recommended:
Neutrogena Hydro Boost (gel)
Organic option: Pai Skincare Chamomile & Rosehip Cream
Sunscreen (SPF 30+)
The most crucial skincare product for women—prevents aging, dark spots, and skin cancer.
Mineral sunscreen: Zinc oxide (gentler for sensitive skin)
Chemical sunscreen: Lightweight, no white cast
Feminine wellness tip: Reapply every 2 hours if outdoors!
Best picks:
La Roche-Posay Anthelios (mineral)
Supergoop! Unseen Sunscreen (chemical)
Eye Cream
The delicate eye area needs special care to combat puffiness, dark circles, and fine lines.
Caffeine: Reduces puffiness
Peptides: Firm skin
Hyaluronic Acid: Hydrates
Natural body care option: Cold cucumber slices for a DIY treatment
Top choice:
Kiehl’s Creamy Eye Treatment
Face Mask (Clay, Sheet, or Hydrating)
A weekly treatment to address specific concerns.
Clay masks: Detoxify oily skin
Sheet masks: Instant hydration
Sleeping masks: Overnight repair
Organic skincare favorite: Aztec Secret Indian Healing Clay
Lip Balm with SPF
Lips need sun protection too!
Look for: SPF 15+, hydrating ingredients like shea butter
Avoid: Flavored balms that encourage lickin Best pick
Aquaphor Lip Repair + SPF
Night Cream or Retinol Treatment
Nighttime is when skin repairs itself.
Retinol: Fights wrinkles and acne
Ceramides: Strengthen skin barrier
Feminine wellness tip: Start with a low retinol concentration to avoid irritation.
Recommended:
VCare Products Renewing Night Cream
Bonus: How to Layer Products Correctly
AM Routine: Cleanser → Toner → Serum → Moisturizer → Sunscreen
PM Routine: Cleanser → Exfoliator (2-3x/week) → Serum → Eye Cream → Night

FAQs
What are the most essential skincare products every woman should have?
A basic routine includes a gentle cleanser, moisturizer, sunscreen, exfoliator, and serum. For a complete regimen, add a toner, eye cream, face mask, lip balm with SPF, and night treatment.
How do I choose the right skincare products for my skin type?
Dry skin: Look for hydrating ingredients like hyaluronic acid and ceramides.
Oily skin: Opt for oil-free, non-comedogenic products with salicylic acid.
Sensitive skin: Use fragrance-free, hypoallergenic formulas.
Combination skin: Balance with lightweight moisturizers and targeted treatments.
Are natural and organic skincare products better?
Organic skincare can be gentler and free from harsh chemicals, but effectiveness depends on ingredients. Look for certifications (USDA Organic, COSMOS) and avoid allergens if you have sensitive skin.
How often should I exfoliate my skin?
Normal/Oily skin: 2-3 times per week.
Dry/Sensitive skin: Once a week with a mild exfoliant. Over-exfoliation can damage the skin barrier, leading to irritation.
Why is sunscreen necessary even indoors?
UV rays and blue light from screens can cause premature aging and pigmentation. A broad-spectrum SPF 30+ protects skin daily.

Why do we always want what we don’t have? Those with limp, straight hair would often kill for a bit of volume that doesn’t require styling tools or bucket-loads of product. And those with tight spiral curls eye the straight-haired with envy. But between the two, there’s natural waves. And while those with wavy hair will still gripe about its annoying tendencies (there are one or two), there’s much to appreciate in this wash-and-go hair type. You can chemically straighten or perm hair, but there’s no magic in a bottle for those in-between waves. Wavy hair tends to be thicker, denser and less prone to thinning and there are plenty of icons including Timothée Chalamet and Harry Styles to look up to. So, what more do we need to convince you that you lucked out in the follicle department? Experiment with the best wavy hairstyles below, along with some expert barbershop styling advice, and you can thank us later. How To Manage Wavy Hair Ok, so humidity might not be your friend, and there’s always that one little bit that refuses to behave. But these are glitches that can be fixed with the right hair products (think best hair mousse, men’s hair gel or pomade) and styling techniques. Tim Pateman, the director of Clerkenwell salon, The Lion and The Fox and a session stylist (who’s worked with George Ezra, Russell Kane and Jake Bugg) gives us the lowdown on how to manage waves. Let’s start with the basics. Pateman favours co-washing with wavy hair (co-washing is short for ‘conditioner washing’). “This method should still involve two steps as if you were using shampoo,” says Pateman. “Skip the shampoo, take a dose of conditioner to emulsify the hair all over to clean it, rinse and then repeat.” He likes Redken Curvaceous Conditioner and Kiehl’s Hair Conditioner and Grooming Aid. We’re also fans of Davines Love Curl Cleansing Cream. “If you’re co-washing you should lay off heavy styling products,” advises Pateman. “With the build-up of natural oils hair becomes impenetrable and learns to regulate itself, so you’ll find you need less styling aids as part of the process,” he explains. “It’s also essential to find a barbershop or stylist who knows how to cut curly hair.” Because, weirdly, a lot of hairdressers just don’t have the knack or the knowledge. “Also concentrate on finding the right products,” he says. “As a general guide, curls and waves love a cream: something that absorbs easily and gives a natural finish. Avoid anything that is sticky – or risk a wet poodle curl.” Note: There are more permanent fixes for frizzier hair types in the form of keratin ‘Brazilian’ chemical relaxers than can be used sparingly around the hairline or other problem areas. The Best Hairstyles for Wavy Hair There are plenty of famous wavy hair wearers out there but if you want to rock a look that’s more your own, here’s five cuts to inspire you. Mid Length, Grown Out “This is a soft, grown-out look that has a 1990s feel about it,” says Pateman. ‘Curtains’ was the defining hairstyle of the era, where the hair is worn medium-length with a side parting forming a wedge shape with shorter layers underneath and at the back. As hair grows out of a quiff style it can easily be manipulated into this or having your barber add some simple layers can turn it into a modern and soft mullet. “You need to be able to run hands through this look. Take a little hair oil, apply it to wet hair and allow to dry naturally,” advises Pateman. “Or, when heat styling, I use a tiny bit of Original & Mineral Project Sukuroi Gold Smoothing Balm. I like this product because it actually makes hair easier to style over time.” Key Products Textured Fade For this style ask for “a barbershop fade with short back and sides, left longer on top,” says Pateman. “Keeping a heavy visible line at fade point and going from approximately grade one to three – keeping the beard same length. Use a strong matt wax to style, such as Bumble and Bumble Sumotech or Davines Strong Dry Wax, to define the texture.” Key Products Long & Natural This look is basically a longer version of ‘curtains’, where the model has curlier hair. “This needs layers and more length at the back,” says Pateman. “It’s basically a grown-out version of the first look. The length will vary depending on how tight the curl is, but it should sit at cheek bone level at the front. Make sure it’s point cut to soften the ends of the curls. If hair is very thick, slide cutting should take some of the weight out for a better shape.” For a Chalamet-grade finish, “Take sections of damp hair and work through, twisting each curl with a product like Davines Curl Building Serum, or Redken Curvaceous Ringlet Perfecting Lotion. To speed up the process and control the curls, use a diffuser.” Key Products Undercut With Fringe Really thick hair can become manageable overnight with this style, making it a good option for men who don’t style their hair so much as wrestle with it. It’s also a touch more corporate-friendly than the beachier looks on this list. “Just ask for an undercut but maintain the length on top for emphasis,” says Pateman. “Style to preference. I’d use a salt spray like Bumble and Bumble Surf Spray and finish with a shine wax, such as Bumble and Bumble Sumowax. It’s easy to maintain but it does need to be cut about every three weeks to keep it sharp.” Key Products Mid Length Smart Sweep Aka, the McConaughey. “Starting with a quiff and a side parting, let the back grow out for more texture,” says Pateman. “Use a salt spray for hold and then a styling cream like Kiehl’s Creme with Silk Groom to give that kind of finger mark movement through the top. Use a hair dryer to style stubborn hair in the direction you want it to go – it should take about two weeks to train it into place.” Awright, awright, awright. Key Products Source link
