Too overcome by his own emotions, Sub-Zero failed to reply, so he made Tomas face him and kissed him instead, hoping that it was enough of an answer for now. He was kissed back, immediately. Eagerly and desperately. It was full of a frantic need to reconnect and re-establish what they’d once had.

Why do I have this headcanon about MK9 Smoke somehow exist in MK1 universe..

That instead of a twin sister, Tomas had a biological big brother.. or could be his older twin brother, as MK1 Tomas is the younger twin.

Lin Kuei members who massacred Tomas' family had thought noone else survived except little Tomas.

Yet noone expected that the older twin of Tomas, who had died during the massacre, got resurrected by the demon Enenra who possessed his body. Just like MK9 Smoke's backstory.

Imagine he came back because he wanted to protect his younger twin.

He had to find Tomas, searching for his current location. Maybe a few months later, he reached Lin Kuei temple and finally found Tomas..

So, we would have Smoke twins as the Masters of Stealth duo in Lin Kuei 👏
