Been bingeing “Yellowstone“ and not only was I pleasantly surprised by the themes they touch on (well, within the genre) and how morally… gray it all is (to put it mildly, talk about the end justifying the means lol), but Beth Dutton is also like the female character. Holy shit. Kelly Reilly truly blows it out the park.
Every so often I think about the 2014 Peter Pan Live cutting "O My Mysterious Lady" (one of my favorite songs in that stupid musical) and replacing it with a blandly forgettable ballad for Wendy and get annoyed all over again.
Also taking "Distant Melody" away from Peter. It's the ONE moment of nuance for him in the show (That other ballad also sucked and I forgot about it til just now).
i’m really tempted to make a list of disasters 911 covers before they even TOUCH a wild fire. like this show is set in california, SPECIFICALLY LA COUNTY, and they’re willing to do a whole ass bee tornado [yes i know tornados have happened in california! i’ve lived through several warnings and one touched down in my backyard this past year] before even touching on the disaster that devastates the state the most and basically unites all of us together. like i love the show and im not hating on it, i just find it funny how they keep trying to out do themselves with season premiere and season finale big show stopping disasters when the one that would not only make the most sense but would mean a lot to the state if done right is never touched.
like i still have vivid memories of my dad telling my sister and i to pack go bags when i was five incase we had to evacuate while he tried to find dog friendly hotels because someone started a fire near my elementary school. i remember staring out the car window as a sophomore while my dad was driving me home early from school because of another fire and seeing it raging so close to houses of people me and my sister knew at school. i remember my sophomore year of college watching the sky turn apocalyptic red and black because of the camp fire in 2018. i then remember coming home the next day only to be faced with all the devastation of the malibu fire in socal. FUCK man this past year someone pushed their car into a ditch in bidwell park in chico and walked away causing ONE OF THE BIGGEST fires in california history and seeing my friend show me updates via snapchats and watching the smoke reach across my old job.
like i know all the stories 911 pulls from are real and there are reasons they won’t do a wild fire episode. but i just get kinda upset and annoyed they won’t talk about wildfires and what they’re like or the impact they have. cause local firefighters can get called in and… i just really wish they’d do a wildfire episode. but instead they’re doing a bee tornado…
