From what I remember mako has already met many important characters including 2 future strawhats and a powerful straw hat ally.

Assuming that not too much changes by the time the main story starts. How would these Chracters see mako as meeting her again. Like say meeting a grown up sanji and Law along with th baroque work robin? For me I would at least think sanji and law would be like big brothers to her.

Also any spoilers on who her dad is? Or who mako would be shipped with?

Not much is really different, just that Mako has been alive and in existence for like one more year, making her a year older than what she was originally, but it's also a bit of a mess since like, idk how to tell you, but Shanks is like barely 21 when he has Mako instead of 22, so oop, some things might end up changing, but also god dang, Yassop, you barely knew your own son and now you're just taking care of this rando Shark girl with the others ahahha.

No but seriously, this just means the Red Hair Pirates have Mako longer and that means further disaster because Yassop Daddy experience only goes for like a few months and Mako is half fishman, SO WHOOPS NEW TERRITORY.

So yeah, Robin and Sanji would be ecstatic to see her again, especially since the two of them went their separate ways to pursue their dreams, since Sanji won't get good experience as a cook with Shanks, and Robin, while absolutely delighted to know she is loved and considered important, knows that she has to leave the nest because she can't do what she wants with them and try as they may, they can't help coddling her a bit because Robin mcfucking did not have a good childhood, cmere, you get a hug.

Meanwhile Law would just be happy to see his friend again after so long, to the one person that taught him, alongside Robin, that even monsters deserve to live.

Seeing her thriving and also throwing a wrench in the world government's agenda by just casual exposing cover-ups in order to let the truth shine through....yeah, he’s happy to see her. Genuinely, no joke or nothing. Especially Robin and Sanji, though how the turn tables. He would've thought Mako would've been her own captain to a crew, but nah, she's content letting Luffy do it while being the resident lifeguard cuz she can swim. And also fish. :V

Her dad isn't actually anyone we know but an OC, like a rando mako shark fishman who effectively got picked out of the bunch to pair up with a Kuja Pirate who wasn't exactly considered a good wife for a Celestial Dragon (aka, dude was sterile, or at the very least got poor kid making skills), so curiosity plus pettiness and a bet equals Mako into the mix. Which is very bad.

That said, Mako's bio dad is related to some existing characters. And I will say this, Arlong won't exactly take to well to ever seeing her, because she serves as a constant reminder in a cog to a tragedy.

(Hint: it involves Koala going home - you can figure it out there, but yeah, Mako's uncle is pretty famous :V)

(He also had a hand in how Mako's mother was able to escape and while Mama was hoping to go back to Amazon Lily, she at least was in a safe place amongst Shanks crew when she gave birth to Mako)

Originally, i didn't have romance in mind, but honestly, I'm at a whatever happens, happens, because Mako's circumstances are so unique and complicated, that her situation allows her complexity, given how 17 seems to be the age at which people are considered adults or at least allowed to drink, and being a pirate just adds to it, mixed in with being someone who has a bounty.

Romance isn't off the table for her, so keep an eye out for it. Dont expect anytjing until after the time skip tho, she’s a little like Luffy in that it's the last thing on her mind lmao.

But also she's got a storm coming her way come Whole Cake Island because Big Mom wants Shanks's daughter for connections so...

Are fishmen still fishmen, mermaids still mermaids, and minks still minks? Or is everyone essentially a humanoid with hat-tips to what they were in canon?

Are devil fruits a thing? How would they be utilized for After Hours?

Are the heights of characters going to be canonical or diminished?

Is haki a thing? How would it work?

Would crews who have clashed in canon get along in the Club or will there be tension (like Kid Pirates v. Red-Haired Pirates)?

Is the Host Club the world or just a focal point of the world? Like when you watch Stargate, wherever they exit out the wormhole is treated like that's the entirety of that world because that's as far as the characters go. You don't necessarily need the rest of the planet because the story/characters don't venture that far out. Is the Host Club like that? Being the entirety of the world because we don't venture much further from it, or is there actually a world and all roads ultimately lead to the Club?

Fishmen are fishmen, mermaids still mermaids, etc. No races have been removed, but non-giants will have their heights adjusted.

Devil Fruits are in! So is Haki. Inappropriate use of DF powers are allowed, but clients can't request it - it's completely up to the DF user alone whether or not to break it out. (No one's allowed to be pressured into it). Some DF users have more leeway than others. Law and Marco can use theirs for medical emergencies, and to remove someone from the premises. Kid has to be careful with his because the plumbing is metal. Luffy can use his, but if he's caught stealing food Rayleigh deals with him >.>

Yes, character heights are going to be adjusted. Katakuri will top the proverbial scales at 11' feet, Crocodile and Doflamingo adjusted to closer to 7-ish feet or so. Kaido still becomes a Massive Dragon, but his, King, and Queen's heights are more around 8'.

Haki will be unchanged because it feels like a natural state of the world. Even if I didn't include DFs I would still have haki available. One major difference is that Zoro and Kid will be formally trained in their Conquer's haki.

Tensions were answered in the post before this (there was no way for you to know when you submitted this so don't sweat it) but I'll just reiterate that there's a baseline friendship among the employees. Almost any aggression/tension is played up for entertainment, but isn't real.

the Club is certainly a focal point, i think it's more like all roads lead to it, or from it, or both. The focus of the series is going to take place in the Club, but actions internal and external will effect it, and external issues will certainly be points of contention.

One noble might not matter in the version of the story that focuses on the Reader and Kid, but that noble might be the antagonist for the story that focuses on Reader and Sabo.

Big Mom might just be a nuisance in most storylines, and a major problem in Katakuri's and Marco's.

You might only hear about Akainu in most versions, but in Smoker's or Koby's (or even Rosinante's) he's a prominent figure.

That's the upside to this, I mean to use this AU for a LOT of stories, so having lots of details laid in let's me focus on different sets of them for each character's version.

Summary: Luffy rescues his wife from the Big Mom pirates

Now looking back, you could kick yourself silly for not taking Luffy up on his offer to join his crew when you had the chance.

In your fears of being chased and caught by the marines, you denied your a chance for adventure with the Straw Hat pirates.

It was so fun being with them that night. Why did you refuse Luffy’s offer?

Now you get to bask in your regret after having been chased and caught by the Big Mom pirates.

Standing before the pirate emperor, you wished you hadn’t gone aboard the merchants ship, when instead, you could’ve been on the thousand sunny, sipping cocktails and sunbathing on the deck grass.

A long fight later, and the merchants ship crew are long dead, and your fate remains at the mercy of Big Mom who took a keen interest in your strength.

“Ma-ma-ma-ma! You’re quite an interesting find! You must be the strongest Haki user I’ve ever seen, and by my experience, that’s definitely saying something. I think I’ll spare you.” Big Mom announces making you feel grateful at the prospects at your survival “You’ll be quite a fine addition to my family.” The feeling of relief is quickly fleeting, spiralling to defeat.

Once you’re married in, there is no escaping Big Mom.

“I’m already married.” You say, hoping to any god listening that Big Mom will spare your life and not force you to marry someone from her hoard.

“I’m well aware Monkey. Y/n.” Big Mom waives your excuse. “I think you would suit my son Katakuri just fine. Two strong Haki users are bound to heir a strong Haki protege.”

“Hell no! Listen here lady. I’m not marrying anyone! I’ve already got a husband, and that’s how it’s staying!” You challenge. Fears be damned, if you’re loosing your freedom, then it’s not a life worth living for.

“What makes you think you’ve got a choice girl?!” Big Moms voice seeps with venom. “You’d seriously rather die? What kind of idiot are you?”

“There’s no life if there is no freedom!” Your yell back, voice booming across the room with determination.

“Don’t you throw out your conquerors Haki to me you little brat! Listen here girl, that rubber idiot is on his way to my Island to take back his crew mate Sanji.” Your eyes bulge at the news. “Yes, that’s right. Vinsmoke Sanji is here marrying my daughter. Marry my son with no fuss and I won’t squash Straw hat.” You stare up unbothered at her threat. “Mark my words. If you become difficult, I’ll make sure Sanji has a hard and unhappy life.” Big Mom grins at your crumbling resolve.

You thought of Luffy and all of your past adventures together, and many more adventures ahead. That’s all you needed to reinvigorate your resolve. “Shove it hag! Sanji is a big boy, I’ll remind him where he belongs!” Big Moms vein pops from her forehead. “I’m not gonna marry your son and I’m not gonna join your stupid crew, because I already have a Captain! And my husband- he’s going to be king of the pirates!” You yell with all your might, making sure everyone felt the authenticity of your claim.

“Marriage or Death?!” Big Moms voice booms. But not a moment sooner, Luffy blasts through the wall, his hand impossibly inflated.

“That’s my wife you Jerk!” And with all his might, Luffy’s fist comes smashing down.

Dust fills the air, blinding you. Hearing the familiar echos of Luffy’s sandals, you begin to speak out. “Luffy! Take me home to the Thousand Sunny!” You demand, your wobbling lip coming to a stand still at Luffy’s maddening grin.

“Took ya long enough. Comm’on, the crews waitin’ for you.”

Ugh, Harley, I am IN L O V E with how you write characters. It made me feel all fluffy inside and squeal and roll around in my bed while kicking my feel in sheer happiness. If it's alright with you, can I please request for Katakuri? I feel like he doesn't get enough love these days. Maybe some headcanons about him having an SO who's really soft and is just all loving towards him kinda like an acts of service kinda person who likes to do stuff for him like make him food and give massages, like when she/he/they/it bandages him up, the touches are feather light and her/his/their/its face is scrunched up in worry for him, and her/his/their/its voice is just soft and quiet but when she/he/they/it gets mad, it's very intimidating. An SO who's he finds just too kind and innocent for the world they live in. Donut man deserves all the love.

▸ He would looove a s/o like this. You're just.. so soft. and sweet. Like an angel that was sent just for him.

▸ Katakuri sees himself as a monster, but you change his views, even just a little bit. He feels so wanted, so loved in your presence. Its like heaven.

▸ His family, specifically his mother, have never been the.. gold standard of love and affection. He knows they love him, and he returns it full force, but he can't recall a time that anyone has gazed so sweetly at him.

▸ After his fight with Luffy youre there, at his side, taking such.. care to not disturb his wounds more than nessicary. His expression softens as he watches your tiny, skilled hands work the salves and bandages over his wounds.

▸ Any act of service is absolutely CHERISHED by the mochi man. He gives and gives and GIVES !!! + to finally see it returned even in the smallest degree makes his heart swell with fondness.
