“another one!” you spoke. karl shifted over on the couch to look over your shoulder at the tweets you scrolled through. after a long day of filming, all you wanted to do was crash on karl’s sofa. after all, you were only here for two weeks. but god, was twitter taking all of your attention.

“jesus they really think we’re dating,” he muttered, moving himself so his weight wasn’t on you. you found yourself oddly missing his warm presence. the house was cold.

“so, what if we capitalize on it?”

karl’s head whipped towards yours.

“what?”

“oh cmon! it’ll be a fun challenge to see how long we can make it last!”

karl studied you, and you found your cheeks flush at how sturdy his gaze was. eventually he nodded, and you grinned.

the next few days were full of prep, planning, and odd moments that seemed too sincere for off camera, but finally it was time for the reveal stream. you’d both tweeted things hinting towards it, and the fans ate it up. even your friends were believing it, as karl had made the last minute decision not to tell them either. sapnap facetimed you one night, and you rushed to sit at the counter next to karl.

“you okay-“

“sapnap,” you hissed, and then you were pressing the green button, eyes lighting up at the way sapnap gaped on screen. you pretended your heart didn’t pick up speed which karl’s hands easily found their way onto your head, lightly playing with your hair distractedly as he chatted with sapnap.

the day of the big stream came, and you settled in next to a visibly nervous karl. his leg was bouncing.

“hey.”

you sat down next to him and gently clutched his hand. cold, and softer than expected. your thumb rubbed his absentmindedly.

“we don’t have to do this if you don’t want to.”

his eyes were cautious.

“i want to,” he said softly, and then you were up out of the chair again, off screen, while karl chatted happily with the viewers. you waited for your que.

“so i know i’ve been sorta cryptic with you guys, and i’m sorry. but, i’m gonna make up for it today because on this stream, i’m going to be playing horror games with my partner.”

karl beamed over at you, and you took the que to flop down into the seat. the chat raced a mile a minute, and you caught a few messages.

“they’re dating? yes we are. for how long? long enough my friends. do you do the nasty?” this last one had you blushing before shaking your head with a resolute no. twitter was not convinced.

hands intertwined below camera under the desk, and you felt yourself excited for every jump scare just as an excuse to clutch onto karl. as the stream went on, you grew closer and closer, before you were practically wrapped in each other’s arms even when the game was calm. chat ate it up.

by the end of the stream, you were snuggled into karl, with his arms warm and secure around you. he ended stream with a wave, and slumped into you even tighter, pulling you more onto him. you didn’t protest.

“can i tell you something?” he murmured into your hair.

you replied a muffled yes, face pressed into his chest.

“i’m not faking it right now,” he said as his lips lightly grazed, and then pressed down on your temple.

“me either karl. me either.”

Hello Dream. It's been a while since we've talked. You know, I kinda wish with my whole amnesia thing I would have forgotten about you. Unfortunately, it's kinda hard to forget someone who ruined your life this much. Not just my life, but the lives of the people around me. My loved ones.

Do you remember when you gave me my name? When we were kids. I didn't know a lot about humans. I didn't even look human. You didn't like it. You told me you were going to teach me to be human and you told me that my name would be "karl" because I couldn't remember the one that my parents gave me. From then on, you made it your mission to erase EVERYTHING that was inhuman about me. You made me feel like I was wrong for being able to shapeshift. For not being able to keep up a human form. I still struggle with that, you know.

A lot of people around me still struggle because of what you did to them. You destroyed Tommy. He's part of my family now. I would never tell you where he is, but he is loved. I've seen the effects of what you did to him, it's monstrous. You destroyed my fiances and my relationships. You broke my best friend. George will never be the same after you. I don't know what you did to Punz. He isn't the same Punz I remember. You broke him. You corrupted him and now he's just like you.

Sapnap rarely ever lets his guard down because he's terrified of you. Quackity, too. All you do is tear people down. You manipulate, you abuse, you hurt.

Are you proud of yourself for that??? Does it make you happy to know that you've permanently damaged so many people?? Everytime you're confronted you think you're the fucking good guy for it.

I'm never going to be able to live normally because of you. I'm still picking up all of the pieces of the damage you did. The damage you did to me, to Sapnap, to Quackity, to George, to Tommy, to Wilbur. To my family.

I recently have become uncomfortable with my name. Karl. Because you gave it to me and part of you still lives on with me. I don't know how to fix it. But one think I know is that you will not get the best of me. I'm not going to let this corrupt me like you corrupted so many other people. I will not be a slave to you. One day, I am going to forget you. I hope it haunts you. I hope everything you've done haunts you. I hope that if you ever read this you will expirience the same haunting feelings that we all do when it comes to you. I hope one day, you feel guilt.
