General info
Names
Jan Paweł - is a reference to a pope, Jan Paweł II. He's considered "the greatest polish person", up to a comical point. So he turned into a meme.
Jakub - A reference to a saying "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you". In polish "Jak Kuba bogu tak bóg Kubie". Literally "As Kuba to god, god to Kuba".

Andrzej - A stereotypical neighbour, where he has everything better than you.
Żmija - A reference to Ojciec Mateusz, a show about a priest solving crime, played by Artur Żmijewski (hence the name). Żmija is from Sandomierz, that's where Ojciec Mateusz was set. (From multiple people, @rabarbarzcukrem mainly.)
Historical background
Poland was going into a sort of a recession. It used to be one of the most powerful countries in Europe. As well as Lithuania, of course. Time of the Commonwealth. The plague didn't hit the Commonwealth as much because it wasn't densily populated. The biggest issue (one of many) were the tatars, who just kind of lived there. Usually were bribed into gaining some power in the country so they won't couse trouble. Lithuania was getting Polonised, but it wasn't going as good as you could imagine. It's the time after the swedish flood, where the whole country was basically looted. It was considered a very open country, many Jews lived here.
Liberum Veto - it's just that one person can say no and whatever they voted on, won't pass. Also huge reason why partations later happened.
Culture
Drowning of Marzanna is a ritual that happens every year, on the first day of spring, to say goodbye to winter. Marzanna is a slavic goddess associeted with death, winter and nature. Marzanna is sometimes set on fire and then thrown into a river. + Interesting tags from @ukulelegodparent (From multiple people)
Hunting by nobles was also kinda a cultural thing. It was often described in the books from that time.

Measuring tassels - likely a reference to "Pan Tadeusz". In modern speach, tassels means dicks. (Also from @rabarbarzcukrem)
Jan Paweł walking on Zofia and Rozalia in bed, the deer antlers look like they're growing from his head. It's a reference to a saying "przyprawić komuś rogi" (also in use in multiple other languages). Which means to cheat on someone. (Multiple people, mainly @rabarbarzcukrem)
Equality march - It's how Pride Prades are called in Poland. (From @rabarbarzcukrem)
Henry kicking a fern flower is a reference to Slavic mythology. It symbolizes ferility and love. (Also from @rabarbarzcukrem) @misticfog adds to it here. (And some other things)

The Contemporary Intellectual Challenges Within Republican Politics
The age of idiots: "Are Republican politicians dumb? Let's break down the details for better understanding."
The Republican Party in the United States is facing significant intellectual challenges, particularly from within its ranks. The rise of the so-called "MAGA" (Make America Great Again) movement, spearheaded by former President Donald Trump and his ardent supporters, has brought to the forefront a concerning trend of anti-intellectualism, conspiracy theories, and a disregard for empirical evidence.
The MAGA Movement: A Departure from Reason
The MAGA movement, which has gained a strong foothold within the Republican Party, represents a departure from traditional conservative principles rooted in reason, logic, and intellectual discourse. Instead, it has embraced a brand of populism that often rejects expertise, dismisses inconvenient facts, and promotes a cult-like devotion to its figurehead, Donald Trump.
Prominent MAGA supporters such as Marjorie Taylor Greene, Donald Trump Jr., J.D. Vance, Ron Johnson, Lauren Boebert, Matt Gaetz, Elise Stefanik, Scott Perry, Kari Lake, Greg Abbott, and Ted Cruz have been at the forefront of propagating conspiracy theories, spreading disinformation, and undermining faith in democratic institutions.
The Denial of Reality
One of the most concerning aspects of the MAGA movement is its blatant denial of reality and its dismissal of empirical evidence. The refusal to accept the results of the 2020 presidential election, despite overwhelming evidence of its legitimacy, is a prime example of this dangerous trend.
Members of the MAGA movement have perpetuated the baseless claim of widespread voter fraud, even in the face of numerous court rulings, audits, and investigations that have found no evidence to support their allegations. This willful disregard for facts and the rule of law undermines the very foundations of American democracy.
The Erosion of Intellectual Discourse
The MAGA movement has also contributed to the erosion of intellectual discourse within the Republican Party. Instead of engaging in substantive debates and reasoned arguments, its adherents often resort to ad hominem attacks, whataboutism, and the demonization of those who dare to challenge their beliefs.
This hostility towards intellectual rigor and critical thinking has alienated many conservative thinkers and academicians, further exacerbating the party's intellectual challenges. The result is a political environment where emotionally charged rhetoric and conspiracy theories take precedence over evidence-based policymaking and rational debate
Threats to Social Cohesion and National Stability
The intellectual challenges within the Republican Party, fueled by the MAGA movement, pose significant threats to social cohesion and national stability. The promotion of divisive rhetoric, the demonization of perceived "enemies," and the rejection of established facts and institutions can lead to a further polarization of society and a breakdown of shared values and trust in democratic processes.
Moreover, the embrace of conspiracy theories and the normalization of disinformation can erode the foundations of an informed citizenry, which is essential for the proper functioning of a democratic society. When truth and reality are subjugated to partisan interests and personal agendas, the ability to engage in constructive dialogue and find common ground becomes increasingly difficult.
The Way Forward: Embracing Intellectual Integrity
To address these intellectual challenges, the Republican Party must recommit itself to the principles of reason, evidence-based policymaking, and respect for democratic institutions. This requires a willingness to reject conspiracy theories, disinformation, and the demonization of political opponents.
Additionally, the party must foster an environment that values intellectual discourse, welcomes diverse perspectives, and encourages critical thinking. This means embracing dissenting voices, engaging in substantive debates, and rejecting the notion that loyalty to a particular individual or ideology supersedes the pursuit of truth and the common good.
Ultimately, the path forward for the Republican Party lies in reclaiming its intellectual integrity and recommitting itself to the principles of reason, evidence, and democratic values. Only by doing so can it address the contemporary intellectual challenges it faces and restore its credibility as a party of serious thinkers and policymakers.

Favorite side characters, any media. Go!
Thanks for the ask, @do-androids-dream-ao3acc, but you are aware, how dangerous it is, to ask me such big things?
Tam al'Thor from Wheel of time
Who is this: In WoT Tam is the father (or rather foster-father) of Rand al'Thor the Dragon reborn. Tam raised the baby that he found on the battlefield after the Blood Snow so well amd with such love, that the revelation that he isn't Rand's father comes as a shock, and even after knowing the truth, Rand still considers Tam as his father. Tam has his own role to play during the series and proves an important balancing factor for Rand in the days before Tarmon Gai'don. With Tam the author broke the trope that heroes slated for death (which the Dragon is) will either have no family any more, or be estranged in some fashion. While Rand's biological parents are dead, he still has a family in Tam, who will be deeply impacted by the loss of his son, and bears that knowledge with such a quiet strength, makes the fact that the Dragon will die at Tarmon Gai'don all the more poignant. Late in the books Rand is asked, what is different between his last incarnation as the Dragon (Lews Therin) and now, and Rand replies: "I was raised better." Showing that Tam's down-to-Earth upbringing did a world of good for the man who is supposed to save the world but also maybe break it again.
Quote: "All we can do is the best we can with the life that's given to us. And take comfort from it. But no matter what happens, what pain we face, what heartbreak, even death, the Wheel keeps turning. Always. And we try again. Maybe do a little better than the last time."
Pet Headcanons I have:
1. I cannot see how Tam could find a baby, freshly born on the slopes of Dragonmount and not guess something. Moraine in New Spring thinks that no one will admit to a child born on the slopes of Dragonmount because that detail of the prophecy is too well known. Tam also evades the initial Aes Sedai search, in spite of the offered money to all children born during the days of the Siege. So, I believe he saw something or at least believed that the baby boy could be believed to be the Dragon Reborn.
We know that Tam had an interessting military career, from the Whitecloak War to the Blood Snow, and I honestly still think that there were more adventures he had than we ever get to know.
Tam's family: We know Tam left the Two Rivers as a young man and came back years later with a wife and child. The child obviously Rand. But Rand never remembers grandparents, and after the death of Kari al'Thor Tam raises his son alone, much as the women of Emond's field strongly think he should remarry. We do not see any other female relative helping, nor get any mentions of the wider al'Thor family. So I have this headcanon that Tam's choice to leave had something to do with the loss of his family. His role in the pattern necessitated him leaving, living outside the Two Rivers, finding the child, and bringing it back, everyone thinking that it was Tam's son. If Manetheren had to fall and be forgotten, so it might shelter the Dragon Reborn in it's youth, Tam needed to be propelled out of his home. And by not having a family to ask questions later, there were no chances anyone could learn that Rand was indeed a foundling. So I think that something happened to the entire al'Thor clan, leaving Tam to carry on alone.
Fanfic I would love to read/write about him: Tam fought in the Blood Snow, much as my other favourite Wot character did: Lan al'Madragoran. We know in canon they did not meet, as Lan wonders how Tam came by a heron-marked blade, and whether he had a right to it. An answer that is only given in the Last Battle itself, when Lan sees Tam fight. Meaning Lan's Malkieri and the Illianer Companions did not interact. Now, I would love to see a story, where those two actually meet in the days of the Siege of Tar Valon, maybe fighting Aiel together. A small story would be great, but a story where their meeting propels them both on a different path - that would be great. A Tam/Lan pairing even better. But that would be ta'veren levels of AU, and writing in WoT might still be way beyond my skill level.
Eskel from he Witcher
Who is this: Eskel is another Wolf Witcher, that readers first encounter when Geralt brings Ciri to Kaer Morhen, and Ciri gets frightened when she sees his face, because of his scars. Eskel is one of the Witchers who trains Ciri in Kaer Morhen, and Ciri has a vision about his death during her time there (among other pyromantic visions). In the games Eskel is a supporting character, trying to help Geralt with his memories and ultimately fighting in the battle of Kaer Morhen.
Quote: I'm a simple witcher, Wolf. Don't fight dragons, don't fraternize with kings and don't sleep with sorceresses…
Pet Headcanons I have: 1. In the games there is a throwaway line about Eskel coming from the Mountains, something that grew into my headcanon about Eskel's background and people.
Eskel's scars - I feel that the explanation we get in the games is rather sloppy storytelling and doesn't make sense of several levels. So I still hold onto my own stories about the scars, that I had long before the games came out.
Big Brother: in my head canon Eskel is the older and more reliable brother of Geralt, sensible, steady and less given to temper. A bit of a big teddy-bear in some aspects, but also a grounding anchor for his younger brothers.
Fanfic I would love to write about him: Ummm… already wrote a bunch.
General Bel Riose from Foundation
Who is this: In the books we get to know Bel Riose as "The last of the Imperials", an Imperial General of immense skill, born in the waning days of the Galactic Empire. He ultimately gets executed by Emperor Clean for treason. In the TV series we get more time with him, see the consequences of his earlier fallout with Cleon, and see how Bel Riose takes on the Foundation. We also get to see him as a loving husband, and get torn apart when he is forced to fire on the planet where his husband has crash-landed, and having nothing left to lose, turning on Cleon, and damn, if he doesn't give Cleon a long deserved beating. Of course Bel dies, in the explosion of the ships, thanks to the chain reaction his spaces navigator caused.
Quotes: "To those who fight and ask why."
Pet Headcanons: 1. His reasons for not refusing to fire on Terminus. It is heavy implied in the series that Bel Riose does not rebel, because he has seen the anarchy outside the Empire, and is convinced that even a bad Emperor is better than none. And I think most of us watching expected him to rise up, when Cleon orders him to fire on Terminus with Glawen still grounded down there. I believe that at this point Rios knew that he was doomed, and most likely Glawen with him, if one considers Cleon's nature. So actually firing that shot, knowing that it will Glawen a swift and clean death, was an act of love, sparing Glawen the suffering that would await otherwise. And I think Glawen thought the same when he told Bel to do it. Glawen knew, with his own death, Bel would be free to act against the Emperor.
He saw the space plan coming. I am utterly convinced of this. Bel had a respectful friendship with his spacer navigator and I think he knew her well. He'd have seen something coming, and maybe he let it happen, because while he himself wasn't a man to rebel, he saw why others would. I also cannot see the spacer, who has a really good connection to her General, and respects him, would quite betray him like that.
I think he studied some illegal things about Seldon and his theories.
Fanfic I would love to write about him: I would love to write an AU where things go differently, simply because Bel didn't deserve to go down like this. Full Stop. This would be the one where both he and Glawen survive. I'd also be intrigued by one where only Bel survived, though heck - that man would become a total problem for the Empire. Or an AU where Glawen was drawn more on Cleon's side and they both are seperated, even as Cleon still sends Bel against the Foundation, while keeping Glawen for himself. Very chaotic ideas on that one.
General John Dixter from "Star of the Guardians"
Who is this: General John Dixter is the youngest roxal General in the book series, and in love with Guardian Maigrey Morianna, though he knows she only sees him as a friend. During the Revolution he helps Maigrey escape, and find medical help, though she later ditches him and escapes on her own. John becomes a mercenary, trying to forget and rising to a respected mercenary leader. Even his rival, Lord Derek Sagan respects his military skills. John is drawn into that fight again, by encountering young Dion Starfire, and recognizing that this is the child, that Maigrey talked about in the night of the revolution. He finds and loses Maigrey again, in the following events, and ultimately becomes Lord Admiral in service of young King Dion, to rebuild the Royal Military in an honourable fashion. One thing that stands about John, outside his military skills, is that even as his love for Maigrey will never go anywhere, he never gets bitter or jealous about it. He knows she will never love him back, and he is a reliable friend to her, no matter what. Even including walking into the jaws of one Derek Sagan again, or facing torture at that man's hands. John shows an incredible strength of character during all of this, and in between all the blood Royal he often is the person with the best common sense.
Quotes:
Pet Headcanons: 1. In spite of Maigrey professing her hope that John found someone else in the intervening years, I don't believe she'd really have been all that happy with it.
It would have made one hell of a friendship had Derek and John each other, before John met Maigrey.
John sensed/felt/knew that Maigrey was not dead, which is why he never got over her.
John's incurable space sickness, is (as Dr. Giesk, the old creep rightly assumed) psychological not physiological and it links back to a trauma from his youth that he's surpressing in his mind (or that was taken from him by a Guardian).
Fanfic I would love to write about him: One story I would like to write, is about his life after the book events, maybe set during or after the MagForce7 books. A story where now that Maigrey is truly gone, John finds a new life, one not defined by his grief. I also would love some deeper story about John's work rebuilding the Royal Military. I would also like that story to adress a few inconsistencies about the Revolution, and maybe the source of John's space-sickness. But definitely a story of him finding love, when he did not expect that to happen any more.
tagging @do-androids-dream-ao3acc, @regis-favorite-raven, @tigerlyla-of-metinna, @andordean, and @ginstermoff to answer the same question.

Got a great new book today, Star Wars: 100 Objects by Kristin Baver, and there was even a page about Nemik’s manifesto!
Here’s what the book had to say, some of which I believe is new information:
“Saw Gerrera is often considered the first leader of the Rebel cause. Before the fall of the Republic, this violent Onderonian extremist rose up against his homeworld's government, who had joined the Separatist faction. Yet he was not the true architect of the Rebel Alliance, which involved unifying many factions fighting for the same goal under one banner.
That position may be said to belong to a young idealist named Karis Nemik who, in the pages of what would effectively become the Rebel manifesto, set down his thoughts on the oppressive Imperial machine.
It remains one of the precious few documents that guided and helped to motivate scattered rebel cells during the early days of the Alliance.
‘The pace of oppression outstrips our ability to understand it," Nemik wrote. "That is the real trick of the Imperial thought machine.’ The manifesto is effectively a blueprint for dismantling Palatine's Empire.
After making the acquaintance of a mysterious mercenary named Clem, Nemik came to believe that hired guns might play an important part in a plot to overthrow the Emperor. ‘Weapons are tools; those that use them are by extension functional assets that we must use to our best advantage,’ he wrote.
‘The Empire has no moral boundaries. Why should we not take hold of every chance we can? Let them see how an insurgency adapts.’
Sometimes referred to as The Trail of Political Consciousness, Nemik's untitled work exemplifies the intellectual climate that fostered the Rebel revolt to restore democracy. The manifesto espoused freedom, independence, and justice. It is also credited with helping to inspire Cassian Andor to join the growing unrest. Without Nemik's writings, Andor might never have gone on to work on the frontlines of the turmoil. He became a crucial member of Rebel intelligence, an adept spy dedicated to the Alliance and willing to sacrifice his life for freedom.”
#i think we’re one step closer to actually getting the book#it has a title! sort of#anyway this made me very happy to see#andor#karis nemik#cassian andor#star wars#long post#ish?#my posts

Endorsement from submitter: YA queer coming of age story featuring young gay crises and love, witches, haunted houses, and ghosts all set in a New England town that hates anything out of the ordinary. A little fantasy and a little mystery!
For Jaime, returning to the tiny Vermont town of Saint Juniper means returning to a past he’s spent eight years trying to forget. After shuttling between foster homes, he hopes he can make something out of this fresh start. But every gossip in town already knows his business, and with reminders of his past everywhere, he seeks out solitude into the nearby woods, called Saint Juniper’s Folly, and does not return. For Theo, Saint Juniper means being stuck. He knows there’s more out there, but he’s scared to go find it. His senior year is going to be like all the rest, dull and claustrophobic. That is until he wanders into the Folly and stumbles on a haunted house with an acerbic yet handsome boy stuck—as in physically stuck—inside. For Taylor, Saint Juniper is a mystery. The surrounding woods speak to her, while she tries—and fails—to practice the magic her dad banned from the house after her mother died. Taylor can’t seem break out of her spiral of grief, until a wide-eyed teenager barges into her life, rambling on about a haunted house, a trapped boy, and ghosts. He needs a witch. The Folly and its ghosts will bring these three teenagers together. But they will each have to face their own internal struggles in order to forge a bond strong enough to escape the Folly’s shadows. Young adult, mystery, fantasy, romance, paranormal

To Have And To Hold From This Day Forward - Chapter 4: School Daze
My final piece for Miyakari Autumn! Holidays and being sick made this take much longer to get out, but I wanted to end the year with some YURI!!!
This piece is inspired by @sluggybasson107's art of Yolei and Kari as elderly lesbians in love, as once I saw it, I INSTANTLY knew what I wanted this last one to be. Thank you to Sluggy and @digitalworldbound for Miyakari Autumn, and I'm so happy to have helped contribute to it! Here's to 2024 where I want to write more Digimon lesbians!
Summary: With all said and done, Yolei visits her wife while she's teaching, so she and Kari can enjoy the wonderful worlds they've helped foster.
You can also find the whole thing on AO3 here!
---
Ugh, why did the sun have to be so bright?
For some ungodly reason, the early afternoon sun managed to pour in through the blinds just right to shine right in her eyes. It caused Yolei to stir and grumble as she began to paw for her glasses on the nightstand. Her eyes were squinted shut to try and keep some of the light out, and once she finally settled on her glasses, she put them on and pushed herself up.
An early nap was always appreciated, but it was inevitably waking up while it was still bright out that was a pain. She let out a loud yawn and stretched her arms above her head, leaning back slightly as she grimaced from the back pain. No matter how gracefully she aged (and in her opinion, she certainly aged gracefully), there was no escaping all the aches and pains that came with her age.
She could hear her partner start to rush along the wood floors to reach her room, and sure enough, Hawkmon popped his head in with a bright smile.
“Ah, you’re finally up! How was your nap, my dear?” Hawkmon asked with the same energy he always had over the years of being her partner.
“Not long enough,” Yolei grumbled, but unable to hide her smirk as she looked over at the Digimon. Hawkmon tutted playfully as he rounded the bed and hopped onto the bed next to her.
“You always say they aren’t long enough,” Hawkmon said.
“Because they never are,” Yolei groaned. She adjusted her glasses and her body slumped slightly.
“It must be because Kari isn’t here. You always seem to get a good night’s sleep when she’s around,” Hawkmon teased. Yolei’s cheeks tinged a gentle pink and she couldn’t stop the giggle that bubbled from her throat.
“Yeah. I know she loves teaching, but would it kill her to take a day off now and then so I could get a good nap in?” she asked. Hawkmon shook his head.
“Speaking of her, do you want to stop by the Digital World and see her and Gatomon?” Yolei added after a moment.
Retirement had been good for her… up to a point, but Yolei tended to get stir crazy more often than not. She took up small personal projects, whether programming or audio related, just to occupy her time while Kari was out. Even despite their age, she still wanted to teach, still wanted to help out younger DigiDestined who just got their partners. It was incredibly admirable, and Yolei respected her to no end, but god she missed her.
“There are few things I’d enjoy more right now,” Hawkmon told her.
At least it meant she and Hawkmon had more excuses to go to the Digital World. Not that they needed an excuse, but being able to see her wife there was always a plus. Yolei uneasily pushed herself up off the bed, giving her partner a wide grin.
“Do you mind grabbing my cane, though?”
Without another word, Hawkmon was already rushing off to the doorway to pick it up.
“Thanks,” she smiled as he handed it to her, and despite the assistance the cane provided, Hawkmon held onto her free hand to help keep her steady. “You weren’t too bored while I was sleeping, were you?”
Hawkmon shook his head, “After all these years, I’ve figured out ways to occupy my time while you’re busy,” he said with a cheeky smile.
“Trust me, I know— you’re the whole reason our bookshelf is getting so much use right now,” she laughed, loud and full and just as good for Hawkmon to hear as always. Just as much vim and vigor as always.
They took their time heading into the living room, and although Yolei was tempted to peel from his side to head straight to the computer, she decided to take her time. Better to save her energy for the Digital World, anyways.
“You know, you should take the time to reread some of these, too, they’re quite enjoyable,” he said. Yolei shrugged.
“Maybe. Maybe I’ll bring something next time we stop by the Digital World,” she mused with a hum.
“Perhaps a picnic? It would be nice for us all to spend a day out and about. It could even just be the four of us, if you want,” Hawkmon suggested.
“That sounds nice. I’m sure Kari would like it, too,” Yolei said, a smile tugging at her lips just at the mention of her wife’s name. There were dozens of nice spots they could pick out, and it would be fun to pack up some boxed lunches like they used to for their kids so many years ago. She was getting excited just thinking about it, the idea growing in her head more and more.
It was putting a spring in her step that Hawkmon was making sure to keep a careful eye on.
“Ok, let’s get going, my perfect queen awaits,” Yolei grinned, sitting down at a desk that was off to the side in their living room, where the computer— and her D3— lay. “Do you remember where she said she was teaching today?”
“Just by Primary Village. I believe she has a class of kindergarteners who all have newly hatched Digimon,” Hawkmon said. Yolei nodded and her fingers began to tap away on the keyboard with that same deftness they held when she was a teenager. She locked in the coordinates of a gate right by Primary Village then grabbed her D3.
“Digi-port open! Let’s roll, Hawkmon!”
Her D3 shone a bright light, and in a flash, they were gone.
***
“—is like an extension of yourself. Your partner can end up reflecting you in a lot of ways, so as you grow up, you two will be able to learn a lot about each other and yourselves.”
Yup, that was Kari. A dopey, serene smile settled on Yolei’s face as she followed the source of the voice. Her and Hawkmon briefly settled behind some bushes, watching the scene before them: Kari sat cross-legged in front of a group of about twenty kids and their baby Digimon, while Gatomon sat next to her. She was beautiful as always, and Yolei couldn’t help but stare, caught up in her wife’s visage.
“It’s important to take good care of them, too. A Digimon isn’t like a pet, even if they may look like animals as they Digivolve. But it is made easier since they can talk,” she said with that light, lilting laugh. The other kids fell into a mess of giggles while their partners cooed in their laps. “Your Digimon will Digivolve at their own pace, too, so don’t be upset if it takes longer for them to reach In-Training or Rookie than your friends. It’s very important to not push your Digimon. Just like you, they’ll grow when they’re ready.”
And her smile, Yolei loved her smile. It was so bright and wonderful and had her heart swelling. It was while Yolei was staring like a moon-eyed teenager that Kari finally caught sight of her, and smiled and waved, a light blush settling on her own cheeks.
“Class, it looks like we have a visitor today. I’d like to introduce you all to Mrs. Inoue and her partner, Hawkmon,” she said, gesturing over to Yolei, still standing behind the bushes.
“Ah! Kari!” Yolei shouted in shock.
“Mrs. Inoue used to help me and other DigiDestined keep the Digital World and the human world safe,” Kari said, pausing for a beat, the sweet and innocent smile on her face seeming somehow… ominous. “She’s also my wife,” she added. Yolei turned a bright red and ducked her head, slapping a hand over her mouth in shock.
“B-Babe!” Yolei cried out over the tittering giggles of her class.
“Is it appropriate to call your wife a ‘babe’ in front of her class?” Hawkmon asked, a gentle, teasing tone to his voice. She looked down at him, to see him with his hands on his hips, looking rather smug. She narrowed her eyes at him.
“Oh, come on, with how many times I’ve helped save the world? After fifty-something years? I think I’ve earned the chance to call my wife babe whenever I want,” she grumbled.
“Do you wanna offer any words of advice to the next generation of DigiDestined, Yolei?” Kari asked sweetly. Yolei’s head snapped towards Kari, and she suddenly felt strangely shy. The next generation of DigiDestined… while she knew her wife had taught plenty of them, it was rare that she spoke to the classes. Davis had always been more than ready to share exploits of their heydays as heroes, and Ken, TK and Cody had been there to try and instill responsibility where Davis hadn’t as much, but Yolei hadn’t spoken to a class of Kari’s since, well… since she started teaching, probably.
Hawkmon gave Yolei a gentle pat on the arm, and with a deep breath, the woman walked over towards her wife with her partner in tow, looking over at the group of kids who looked up at her in wonder.
“Well, Mrs. Kamiya is right, first of all, you need to make sure to listen to your partner’s needs, but also…” she trailed off, taking a moment to think. This was her chance to really wow a whole new generation!
“…Uh, remember that being a DigiDestined is an important responsibility. You and your Digimon can help do a lot of good in this world and our world, and you should always remember to help others, whether Digimon or humans,” she said.
“That’s great advice, thank you, Yolei,” Kari said. Yolei rubbed the back of her neck with her free hand.
“Aw, don’t mention it…”
Kari slowly pushed herself off the ground and folded her hands in front of herself, “Ok, class, next we’re going to—”
“Is your class ready to see Primary Village?”
Every head turned to see Elecmon walking up with a bright grin plastered to his face.
“Yes!”
Kari gestured to Elecmon, “Elecmon here is the caretaker of Primary Village, which is where Digimon are born. He’s going to show you around and tell you all about the village and what it’s like to care for the baby Digimon. Make sure to be good, don’t be too loud, and don’t touch any babies unless you’re given permission.”
The kids all got up and started rushing around the Rookie level Digimon in excitement. Kari looked at Gatomon.
“Would you mind going along to supervise?” Kari asked. Gatomon groaned.
“Do I have to?” she whined, “They always try to grab my ears and my face and it’s the worst…”
“Don’t worry, I will be there to help supervise and make sure your face stays intact,” Hawkmon said as he strode over to his DNA Digivolution partner.
“You better.”
As Elecmon led the class off, Hawkmon and Gatomon held up the rear, with Hawkmon giving Gatomon a reassuring pat on the shoulder to soothe her nerves.
Luckily they were still close enough for Kari to keep an eye on, but once they were gone, Yolei walked up behind Kari and let her chin rest on her wife’s shoulder.
“You really gave them some great advice, you know,” Kari said after a few moments, leaning her head into Yolei’s.
“W-what? Really? I was just saying what I thought. I want them to realize how important it is to do good.”
“It was still inspiring,” Kari smiled, “I’m sure they’ll think about that for years to come.”
Yolei could only hope.
“You know, even at my worst as the Emperor, I never wanted to try and do anything to Primary Village. It never felt right to go after babies,” Yolei said.
Of course, that didn’t stop her from conquering the surrounding areas of File Island, from taking control of Elecmon…
Yolei cringed and swallowed hard, but managed to calm slightly as Kari wrapped an arm around her waist. Yolei returned the gesture in kind, relishing in the warmth as she gently rubbed her wife’s side.
“See? Even back then you knew what was too far,” Kari smiled.
“Maybe you’re right.”
“Besides, you don’t have to worry about that now. That’s far behind you.”
Something Yolei was grateful for. It was only thought about in brief ways like this, no more nightmares about the atrocities she committed.
Kari turned to face Yolei, taking her free hand in both of hers, gently tracing circles along the back of her hand.
“We’ve really helped make this world a peaceful place,” Kari said.
“And we have a lot to be proud of, don’t we? I mean, look at you,” Yolei said, nodding to all of the children running around Primary Village, with wide smiles on their faces, their giggles filling the air. Hawkmon was frantically trying to make sure everyone behaved, while Gatomon kept a reasonable distance from the kids. Yolei and Kari laughed at the sight.
“Even after you could’ve retired, you’ve still worked so much to teach kids about Digimon. You’ve probably done more for DigiDestined than most people,” Yolei said.
“I wouldn’t go that far,” Kari said.
“I would,” Yolei grinned, leaning in to place a kiss on her cheek, then another one closer to her lips.
“Yolei!” Kari giggled, squirming around a bit as Yolei held her close.
“Oh, come on, your students are busy over there, we deserve some time for ourselves— you deserve a little break,” Yolei snickered as she planted another gentle kiss on her face.
Kari turned to face her, looking up at her. Age had brought them closer in height, but only just barely. Yolei was happy to remain taller throughout all these years.
“All these years and you’re still the most beautiful woman ever,” Kari said, the edges of her eyes crinkling with wonder and joy.
“I dunno about that, I mean, I’m looking at the most beautiful woman ever right now,” Yolei told her. Kari leaned up and gave her a quick kiss on the lips. Yolei held her closer.
“I love you,” Kari said as she leaned into Yolei’s touch.
“I love you, too.”
“I’m happy to have helped make a better world with you, two better worlds,” Yolei mumbled.
“And we’ll keep doing that for the rest of our lives,” Kari nodded.
“Yeah,” Yolei said with a gentle sigh, looking out at Primary Village again, unable to help but laugh as Hawkmon was struggling to keep hold of four different baby Digimon that had been handed off to him.
The two held onto each other, contentedly watching Kari’s class.
Together, they had helped keep the worlds safe, had helped people and Digimon come together in a way that they could witness kids and their partners for years and years.
Kari helped bring Yolei from her lowest, showed her unconditional love, and Yolei returned it in kind, keeping Kari safe, sound, and secure, just as Kari did. They were a team, and always would be.
Light, Love, and Sincerity, staying together forever, no matter what life brought them, or what it would bring them still.

Mama Bear - Avengers x Foster mother!reader
Wohoo, a fic nobody asked for!
AnYwAy, here you go! (Btw, you have like 11 kids. Also you're kinda rich)
I gave up on this because I am a shit writer :P. Now you guys get to determine whether you want me to continue or not
-------------
It was a long day at work, having to blow up a HYDRA base. You groaned in exhaustion as you pulled your car into the driveway of your large-ish house. Flinging your mission bag over your shoulder as you closed the boot (Trunk for you americans) of the car. Walking up to the front door, you hoped that the 3 eldest kids you have were able to handle looking after the little ones. Keys jangling in your hand, you opened the door.
"Guess who's back!" You yelled into the hallway. Running could be heard throughout the house, making you smile.
A loud barrage of "Mummy!"s and "Mum!"s filled your ears as you were nearly knocked to the ground with the hugs from all 11 children.
"Were you guys good for Jaden, Alex and Tianna?" You asked the little ones.
They all nodded their heads sweetly, and you looked up at the 3 eldest children with a questioning look. Jaden, Alex and Tianna nodded with a small smile.
"That's good!" You said happily, "and guess what! All of your Uncles and Aunts are coming for dinner, so who wants to help me cook?"
The littlest ones nodded their heads enthusiastically, "Me, Me!"
You chuckled, "Okay, let's get started!"
Heading towards the kitchen, you made sure that all the children had jobs. The eldest had to clean, the middle children (Kari, Paul, Joanna and Keith) had to set the table and the youngest ones (George, Annie, Karl and Willma) had to help you cook.
As you were cooking, you heard the doorbell ring. "Jaden, can you get the door please?" You asked, stirring two pots at once.
"No problem Mum." He called back, pausing on cleaning up the toys in the hallway to open the door. Steve, Nat, Clint and Bruce were waiting in front of the door.
"Hey Jay!" Clint said with a broad smile
The teenage boy simple waved and let the four in, closing the door behind them.
"Where's your Mum?" Nat asked, looking around.
"Kitchen!" You yelled out to her, shooing the little ones out of the kitchen.
"Auntie Nat!" Annie said happily, leaping into her arms.
"Hey little Angle." Natasha said, picking the small child up.
You smiled as you watched, jumping when you heard a kitchen timer go off, "I'll be right with you guys, feel free to make yourself at home!"
Smiling, the avengers who were there sat on the couch.
Timeskip because I'm lazy and this is my story so
Setting the last dish on the table, you sighed tiredly, "Well, eat up guys!"
You went to help a few of the little ones get their food as the whole (now present) Avengers team began eating.
"Thanks for having us over (Y/N)"

“I spoke fire, laughed smoke, and madness spilled forth from my inspiration.”
Introduction
Akari Himura is the younger sister of Death Row Block's Rintaro Himura and is currently a high school student. She is not really known for anything besides being the younger sister of the worst terrorist in Japanese history. However unbeknownst to anyone besides a few people Akari is the criminal known as “Cinder” who has become a force to reckon with in Japan’s criminal underground.
Akari is a young girl of above-average height with a slim figure. She has dark red shoulder-length hair that she temporarily dyes black when she goes out as Cinder. She has sharp gold eyes with a blank look in them. She wears an orange t shirt with a black leather jacket over it. She also wears a pair of black shorts, a red belt that, similarly to her older brother, has a set of handcuffs acting as a buckle with chains hanging from the sides and a set of black tights underneath. On her feet are a set of black ankle boots. Her accessories include a black leather choker and a silver cuff bracelet on her left hand.
As Cinder, she wears a full-length body suit made out of a kevlar weave. The suit is black with dark red accents. Akari wears a black overcoat made out of similar material as her suit with a metal cuff at the end of each elbow-length sleeve. The hem ripped, extending down to her knees. On her hands, she wears a set of futuristic black gauntlets that extend halfway up her forearm. On her feet, Akari wears a set of black heavy-duty steel-toe boots. For accessories, Akari wears a black utility belt around her waist and a matching combat pouch on her left leg, around her thigh. Finally, to complete her look, Akari wears a black high-tech gas mask on the bottom half of her face that glows a dark red.

Personality
Akari is a genius, a prodigy, and could revolutionize the world with her inventions....if anyone knew that about her that is. Akari could indeed use her intelligence to help the world but honestly, she doesn't give a damn. She actively hides her intelligence from the public and appears to show little interest in matters that are going on around her. However, Akari is highly determined when she sets her mind to a task, often dealing with any problems presented to her efficiently and competently.
Akari is a person of few words and highly values her privacy and many people view her as a negative, pessimistic, and sarcastic individual. Akari is also very apathetic and easily bored to an unhealthy and abnormal degree. Her troubled upbringing appears to have made her have a hard time actively expressing herself. Despite this, Akari is fiercely loyal and protective of the few people she cares about.
Whenever she’s out as Cinder, Akari is cunning, extremely manipulative, violent, and cruel. Destroying and wreaking havoc without a care in the world and using some of her crueler inventions on people. Many in the underworld fear her because she has no issue with killing if they get in her way. Another notable thing is her obsession with fire, and in fact, it seems to be far worse than Rintaro’s, although she has better control over it.
Trivia
Akari has a vicious hatred of the foster care system. In no part due to when she was 8 years old her foster mother at the time attempted to drown her in the bathtub calling her nothing more than the devil's spawn. She retaliated by setting the house on fire with her foster mother trapped inside.
She is best friends with Ryōhei Nakashima and frenemies with Nagisa Sano the younger brothers of Kobe's Ren Nakashima and Kaiji Sano respectively. They are one of the few besides her family that knows her identity.
She was given the offer to join Scorpion Den but to their surprise declined, stating "she already had a family" but is willing to join them in missions from time to time.
An All Points Bulletin (APB) is currently out for her alter ego and is currently one of Chuohku’s most wanted criminals.
She has a photographic memory and is able to recall things from when she was two.
