Today, back to digital stuff.

The "Front Cover" image is a full-page spread on the front of the Dragon Adventure 4 coloring book. The "Back Cover" image was reduced in size and put alongside another of the potential cover images that people liked.

The second image shows the completed cover as it looks when uploaded to the printer.

The third image set shows some of the content of this coloring book. All of the images are a composite of pen and ink drawing and digital elements. The main creature, or any unique creature, is a hand-drawn image. But I also like to mirror images or repeat and rotate them to make more interesting compositions. I'll end up coloring most of these for myself because, hey! I want to make coloring pages that I would want to color, too!

Dragon Adventure 5 is underway and is about a third of the way complete, and I also have a set of kid-friendly coloring books that are essentially ready to go, but which I still need to publish.

Today I discovered my iPad can turn photos into kaleidoscopia. Hurrrr!

Kaleidoscopia

My mind was clogged. My thoughts could not flow. I simply had patches of melancholy, and I couldn’t stay awake no matter how much I sleep.

Sep 10, I was back to university after the summer holidays. (I am a graduate now, but I still like to go back and work on my own stuffs.) The building of our art school has become the main “battlefield” within our university. Students were sitting on the ground making banners, a small conference held to discuss the role of art in social unrest, posters and sprays on every obvious and sneaky corner, battling with the destruction brought of the guards, our dean became the middleman between the students and the university. T said, we are students of this art school, we don’t easily compromise.

The song Glory to Hong Kong was played on loop in the stairs, echoing through the whole building. I sang along as I walked. I told T, “Real anthem doesn’t need to be advertised on TV (like how the Chinese anthem is advertised).” He said, “Wholeheartedly agree.”

That night we were back in our group. Politics became a sensitive and awkward topic. T and I announced our relationship to 3 of our mutual friends.
