"Ooh my, who am I to deny the make over of my life.... if I look half as good as you... then I might just have to come in every single day." He slowly whispered into the owner's ear, while letting his hand trail over their chest, before slowly slipping into the shop with a wink. Walking into the salon he looked around and smirked at the other's that were there and nodded waited for Dru. "Which area is yours?" Kaa teased, looking at him as if he wanted to swallow him hole - in more way than one.
compliments could get anyone anywhere with him. it was actually sad if he thought about it too long, always eager to be accepted by those around him but never phrasing it that way. seeing how he moved made dru raise a brow, but he wasn't going to question a paying customer. “then i'm glad your ears work because you would have heard right.” he opened the door back up after kicking out the customer that reminded him too much of bellamy. “step right in and prepare for the makeover of your life.” if he chose to stay, that way.

Hello! Thank you for all your very informative/helpful posts! Since I was having a hard time finding these answers on my own, I was hoping you could help me. Regarding Najma, what does she refer to Jamil as when she addresses him? When I look at subbed videos of Jamil's hometown event, it seems like she just says his name, but I think I once read a comment where someone mentioned that at one point in the event she calls him "Onii-chan" or something along those lines, but maybe I misread that? I was just curious about that, and I was also wondering how both Jamil and Najma refer to their parents, like do they use "Otou-san" and "Okaa-san" or something else? Thanks again!
Hello hello! ^^ Thank you for this question! 🐍
Najma refers to Jamil consistently throughout the event by his first name with no honorific, with one exception: right before she leaves the group they have a conversation where she says that she is worried about him, referring to him as, "Onii-chan" ^^
There could be many reasons for this, such as she used to call him "onii-chan" when she was younger and grew out of it, or maybe he doesn't like being being referred to by his first name so she started doing so to annoy him and it stuck (Jamil is big on hierarchy)--
--or because "onii-chan" is how she refers to him when they are at home but she prefers not to do so in public, etc.!
(This is all conjecture! None of the above reasons are canon and are just personal thoughts~)
It is generally a good idea to not apply grammar rules from media directly to reality, but if you are also interested in real-life examples for language study I found a thread by a lady asking about why her grandchildren do not use honorifics with one another ^^
And the general consensus by the commenters is: family dynamics just vary by family!
Much like how people in different families often have different ways of referring to their grandparents, familial terms of address are moreso based on personal preferences than societal expectations ♪
Concerning their parents, you are very right!
Both Jamil and Najma call their father "tou-san," without the polite "o" in the beginning, three times out of the four times they refer to him!
Their mother is referred to only once, by Najma, as "o-kaa-san" ^^
(Jamil uses "chichi" and "haha" for "dad" and "mom" when speaking with Silver.)
And Najma does refer to someone as "o-nii-san" at one point, but it was not Jamil--it was Malleus! ^^
But this is not because she literally decided to see Malleus as an older brother! (She also refers to male vendors in the marketplace as "ojisan")
It is not uncommon to refer to people with whom you are unfamiliar as "o-nii-san" or "o-nee-san" ^^ It is more common in casual settings like when shopping, events like festivals, etc., where many people who are not well acquainted come together!

Enamored With You – Yuken (PSF #24)
PSF Ficography | H&F Flash Ficography
Genre: Fluff, magic, slice of life
Prompt: “You’ve told your parents?” (@flufftober) / Truth: Do you believe in magic? (@slumberpartybingo Halloween Flash)
Word Count: 5,141
Pairing: Reader x Yuken
World: High&Low
───── ⋆⋅🍂⋅⋆ ─────
You shifted nervously from where you sat on the bullet train, brow furrowed at the glass. The world was passing by you in a blur of grey and brown with the occasional splash of orange.
Yuken’s parents lived about thirty minutes outside of the city and they wanted him to come home for Halloween. He had convinced you to tag along with him because he wanted you to meet his parents.
When you told him you had no right invading on his family gathering, he gave you a wolfish grin and had proudly proclaimed, “I’m going to marry you, one day. They need to meet you first!“
How could you say no to that? Especially when he was giving you that puppy dog look that you simply couldn’t resist.
You could feel your boyfriend watching you and you scowled.
“I’m fine.”
“I didn’t say anything,” Yuken chuckled from where he sat across from you.
“You were thinking it.”
“Oh?” He quirked a brow at you, propping up his chin with his hand. “You never told me that mind reading was one of your powers.”
You sent him a look and he chuckled again, shifting so he was sitting beside you. He put his arm around your shoulders, pulling you closer.
“Stop worrying. My parents are going to love you.” He pressed a kiss to the top of your head and you smiled, reaching up to thread your fingers through his own.
You weren’t so much worried that his parents would hate you as you were worried about them finding out your secret. See, you were a witch, descended from a long line of witches. As far as most humans were concerned, your kind didn’t exist outside of movies and you had been taught to keep it that way.
Humanity simply wasn’t ready to accept that a different race had been hiding amongst them for so long. To be honest, you never planned on telling Yuken, at least not for a long while. That went out the window when he got into a huge fight with guys twice his size and age.
He had been pretty badly injured but refused to go to the hospital. You were scared of losing him so you used your magic to stop the bleeding, thinking he was unconscious. He wasn’t and, well… you had a lot of explaining to do after that.
You were convinced that he was your soulmate so the last thing you wanted to do was scare his parents or make them hate you. It’s not like you didn’t have control over your powers, but there was always a slim chance of using them by accident when your emotions ran high.
You rested your head against his chest, calmed by the steady rhythm of his heartbeat. ‘This trip is going to be fine. Nothing is going to happen.’
───── ⋆⋅🍂⋅⋆ ─────
You followed Yuken up the steps of his parent’s house, gripping the strap of your bag tightly as he pushed the door open, announcing that he was home. A short woman with permed brown hair came rushing out of the kitchen, a bright smile on her face.
“Welcome home!” She cupped his face. “Oh, look at you! You’ve gotten even taller than the last time I saw you.”
“Maybe you’ve just gotten shorter, kaa-chan~” he teased with a grin, earning a smack to his arm.
She turned to face you, offering a polite yet friendly smile. “Welcome to the Odajima home, dear. It’s a pleasure to meet you!”
You bowed politely to her. “Thank you for having me, Odajima-san.”
“Oh, please, no need to be so formal! You can just call me Kao. Or, if you feel so inclined… you can call me kaa-chan,” she winked at you, making you smile. “Well, what are you waiting on? Take your things upstairs and get settled. Go on!”
“Yes, kaa-chan~” sang Yuken before he started toward the stairs, you close behind.
His bedroom was clean and minimalistic, just like his apartment in the city. A single bed sat against the right wall with a bookcase on one side and a table on the other. Across from the bed was a desk, though there was nothing but a cup of pens sitting atop it. A dresser sat beneath the window and the closet was to the left of the door.
You set your bags on the bed, unzipping them so you could unpack. Yuken came up behind you, hugging you softly as he rested his chin on your shoulder.
“Don’t bother. We’re only staying for three days.”
“I know, but we should still put them away.”
He hummed, pressing his lips to the skin beneath your ear. “I’d rather spend that time with you.”
You grinned, turning around in his hold, your arms finding their place around his neck. “Technically, we’d be doing it together so you would be spending time with me.”
“I can think of better things to do,” he mused before pressing his lips against yours.
You didn’t hesitate to kiss back, tilting your head to the side to deepen the kiss. His tongue brushed against your lower lip and you granted him access just so you could brush your tongue over his piercing. He groaned in appreciation, giving you a squeeze before pulling away.
His forehead rested against yours, a goofy grin on his lips. “I love you so much. You know that, right?”
You hummed, eyes flashing red for a moment before a smile came to your lips. “You’re telling the truth.”
He pouted, lightly pinching your hip. “Did you really just use magic on me? How rude.”
“I’m sorry,” you replied, trying to sound genuine but the wolfish grin on your lips and the amused glint in your eyes gave you away.
“You are so not sorry.”
“I am, I swear~” You reached up to kiss him but he turned his face at the last second so you planted a kiss against his cheek. “Now that is rude.”
“I don’t kiss liars.” He tried to sound annoyed but, just like you, he couldn’t keep a straight face. For a moment, the two of you just looked at each other before bursting into a fit of giggles. “Liars must be punished!”
You laughed when he went slack against you, his weight forcing you back onto the bed. “You’re heavy, get offa me.”
“I refuse.” His face nuzzled into the crook of your neck, arms tight around your body. “You didn’t say it back.”
“Hm?” Your fingers brushed through his hair, tugging it free from the hair tie. “Say what?”
“You didn’t say you love me back.”
A warm smile came to your lips. “I love you, Odajima Yuken. I love you more than the moon loves the stars. More than the flowers love the sun.”
He slowly pushed himself up, elbows resting on either side of you as his eyes met yours.
You cupped his cheek with a smile. “I love you more than the wind loves the trees and more than the earth loves the rain.”
“You’re so cheesy,” he whispered, heart filled with warmth and love for you.
“You love it.”
“I really do,” he whispered, pressing his lips against yours again, this time in a slow, sensual embrace.
“Yuken! Your brother is home!”
The two of you broke apart and you furrowed your brow at him. “Brother? I thought it was just going to be your parents.”
“It was supposed to be.” His own brow furrowed as he pulled himself off the bed, holding his hand out to you. “I guess you’re meeting the whole family.”
You held back a groan as you followed him down the stairs. Standing in the doorway was a heavily pregnant woman holding the hand of a young little girl. When the child saw Yuken, her face lit up and she darted toward him, jumping into his arms.
“Ken-oji-chan!” She giggled when he held her up by the armpits, spinning her around.
“Look at you~” he cooed happily. “You’re getting so big!”
“Papa says if I eat my veggies, I’ll grow as big as you one day!”
“He’s right,” he tapped her on the nose, making her squeal in delight.
You couldn’t help but smile at the interaction and how cute the two of them were.
“Yuken,” called the woman, sending him a look. “Aren’t you going to introduce us?”
The tall male held the young girl against his hip with one arm, the other going around your waist and tugging you closer as he introduced you to them before introducing them to you. “This is my sister-in-law Midori and my adorable little niece Mikki.”
Milking smiled shyly at you, offering a small wave. “Nice to meet you.”
“You, too,” you smiled back.
“We’ve heard a lot about you,” grinned his sister. “Yuken talks about you constantly. It’s like he’s obsessed with you!”
“Nee-chan~” Yuken pouted, earning a laugh from the older woman. “I’m not obsessed…”
“Oh, you definitely are.”
His mom entered the room with a grin, tossing a dish towel over her shoulder. “There’s nothing wrong with it, Yuken dear. To love someone with all of your being is to be obsessed with them.”
Midori nodded in agreement. “That’s right. It’s so romantic!” Her eyes fell to you, cupping her mouth despite talking at a normal level. “He truly does love you. Make sure you don’t hurt him, okay? He’s surprisingly sensitive.”
“Nee-chan!” He scowled, pale cheeks dusting with pink.
You felt your own cheeks heat up the tiniest bit, butterflies fluttering in your stomach as a smile slid onto your face. You had been so afraid of meeting his family but you were realizing that they were the sweetest people. You already felt at home.
You felt eyes burning holes into you and you glanced toward the kitchen, spying Yuken’s dad lingering in the doorway with a blank expression. His dark eyes were staring directly at you and it felt as if he could see directly into your soul.
You shifted nervously, returning your attention to the siblings as they teased each other. You tried to ignore it, but there was a voice at the back of your head, repeating the same phrase like a mantra within your brain.
‘He knows you’re a witch. He knows, he knows, he knows. He knows you’re a witch!’
You shook your head to try and rid yourself of those thoughts. That simply wasn’t possible. You had only used your power once since arriving and it was just you and Yuken in the bedroom, the door closed. Though it was highly unlikely, there was a slim chance that he had somehow seen it or perhaps sensed it.
In your experience, finding a human who could sense a witch’s magic was incredibly rare, but not impossible. Could it be that he was one of those rare humans? Could it be that he really did know?
“Dear, are you okay?” Kao rested her hand on your arm, a worried frown on her face.
“Ah, yes, I’m fine,” you replied quickly, bowing to her in apology.
“If you’re sure…” She didn’t appear to believe you but she nodded anyway, taking the young girl from Yuken’s arms. “Who wants cookies?”
“I do, I do!” squealed Mikki.
“Let’s go get them, then, hm?”
The pair disappeared into the kitchen, Yuken’s father narrowing his eyes at you before following after them.
Midori offered you a comforting smile as she leaned closer, lowering her voice. “Meeting the family can be overwhelming, right? I was a wreck when I met them for the first time, but they truly are so loving and accepting. As long as you make their son happy, they will welcome you with open arms.”
“That’s good to know. Thank you,” you smiled gratefully at her.
Her lips parted but, before she could speak a word, the front door slammed open and a teenage girl came rushing in, carrying several bags. She had a scowl on her face and didn’t spare any of you a glance as she rushed up the stairs, knocking into Yuken on the way.
“Hey, Kaeli -” Yuken frowned when she ignored him, slamming the bedroom door a moment later.
Her father appeared in the doorway a few seconds later, a deep frown on his lips. He, too, was holding several bags.
Midori frowned at her husband. “Did you two argue again?”
“Yes,” he sighed. “She’s really not happy about the move.”
“It’ll take time, but I’m sure she’ll come around, darling.”
“I sure hope so.” He offered her a sad smile before taking notice of you. He quickly set the bags down, running his palm across his jeans before holding them out to you. “Hi! I’m Yuken’s older brother, Ran. Very nice to finally meet you.”
You slid your hand into his with a smile. “Nice to meet you, too, Ran-san.”
“Please, no need to be so formal. Just call me nii-chan,” he gave you a wolfish grin. “He talks so much about you, it feels as if I already know you!”
Yuken groaned, pressing his hand over his face and muttering under his breath about embarrassing siblings.
You laughed at this. “Hopefully all good things.”
“Yes,” he nodded. “He doesn’t have a single bad thing to say about you.”
Your hand found Yuken’s and you offered him a warm smile which he returned.
“I’m gonna take the bags upstairs and try to talk to Kae.” Ran picked up the bags and started toward the stairs but his wife stopped him, slipping in front of him.
“Let me talk to her instead, darling.”
“Probably a better idea,” he chuckled.
Yuken waited until they disappeared up the stairs before turning to you with a pout. “I’m sorry, my family is a bit eccentric.”
“Just like you,” you teased, bringing his hand to your lips. “They seem really sweet, though.”
“They are.”
You glanced at the kitchen door. Someone was clearly there but they pulled back so quickly that you weren’t able to see who. You thought about the blank stare his dad had given you and you frowned.
“What is it?” wondered Yuken, swinging your hand lightly between you.
“It’s just…” you looked at him with a furrowed brow. “Did you… tell your parents?”
“Tell them what?”
“About,” you waved your hand toward yourself for emphasis. “You know.”
“No, why would I tell them?” His brow furrowed as he glanced at the kitchen doorway. “You told me not to. I would never go behind your back like that.”
“I know. I know. Sorry,” you offered him an apologetic smile and he hummed, pulling you into a hug.
“Stop worrying so much, love. I won’t tell them unless you ask me to. We’re going to have a great weekend together without incident.”
“Promise?”
“I promise.”
───── ⋆⋅🍂⋅⋆ ─────
“Kaeli, it’s time for dinner,” Ran called out, standing in front of the sliding glass doors that led into the backyard.
She glared at him over her shoulder before turning away and putting her headphones on over her head. The blonde sighed, closing the door before sitting back down at the table.
“She’s never going to forgive me, is she?” He pouted, stabbing the bread roll with his fork. “I’m a terrible father!”
His mother chuckled from the other end of the table. “She’s a teenager. I’d be more worried if she didn’t hate you.”
Yuken lifted his head, sending her a fake offended look. “I didn’t hate you.”
“Yes, dear, but I’m your mother,” she smiled, patting his hand. “And you’re a good boy.”
“What about me, ma?” wondered Ran, making her hesitate.
“Well… you were a bit more of a handful, dear.”
He groaned, hanging his head. “No wonder she hates me. I was the bad child!”
“The youngest is always the angel,” commented Yuken with a snicker, looking at the young girl sitting across from him. “Isn’t that right, Mikki-chan~?”
“That’s right!” She giggled, throwing her arms into the air. “I’m an angel!”
Midori slowly came into the kitchen, face scrunched up in displeasure as her hand rested over her large belly. Ran jumped up, rushing over to her. “Hun, you should be in bed.”
“I’m fine,” she forced a smile. “I want to be with my family. Where’s Kaeli?”
“She doesn’t want to come inside…”
“I’ll get her. She’s gonna get eaten alive by mosquitos!” Shaking her head, she approached the glass door and slid it open, peering out into the night. “Kaeli? Kaeli, where are you?”
Ran rushed over, heading out into the yard and yelling out her name, but there was no sign of the young girl. “Kaeli! Kaeli, you answer me right now!”
You and Yuken exchanged a look, getting up from the table to help him look. Something made you pause on your way, though, your eyes widening as they fell onto the puddle beneath Midori.
She sent you a pained look, leaning against the counter for support. “I think… my water just broke…”
“Shit,” you cursed, rushing over to the door. “Yuken! Ran! Midori just went into labor!”
With wide eyes, the two males rushed back into the room, the air thick with tension and panic. Ran was fussing over her, trying to get her to do her Lamaze breathing despite the fact that she already was. Yuken gripped his hair, pacing back and forth with a panicked look on his face.
“What in the world is -” Kao entered the kitchen with a furrowed brow, brown eyes taking in the scene. She smacked her eldest child upside the head. “You’ve already had two children, what are you panicking for?”
“I don’t know!”
“Go get her bag.”
“Okay!” Ran rushed from the kitchen, his feet pounding on the stairs.
“Yuken, get Midori to the car.”
“Yes, kaa-chan!” Yuken carefully took her by the arm, helping her from the kitchen.
She sent you an apologetic look. “I hate to ask this of you, but will you try and find Kaeli? I’m sure she isn’t far. She’s a good girl, really.”
“I don’t mind at all. I promise to find her, so please don’t worry!” You gave her a determined look which she returned with a warm smile, bringing your hands into hers.
“I have no doubt, dear. Thank you.”
The way she said that concerned you but you didn’t have time to worry about whether or not she knew your secret. You grabbed your jacket, rushing out into the chilly autumn night and into the dense forest that sat at the edge of the property.
The sky was covered with grey clouds, blocking out the stars and the full moon. The ground was littered with orange and brown leaves, crunching beneath your feet as you ran. Unlike the city, the area was quiet and peaceful save for the occasional sound of an owl hooting from somewhere high above.
“Kaeli!” You called out, your voice echoing through the tall trees. “Kaeli, please answer me! Your mom has gone into labor!”
There was no response, making you curse.
‘Calm down, breathe.’ You stopped running, taking a few deep breaths until you felt your heart rate slowing. You closed your eyes, focusing hard on the world around you.
Every single living object has an aura, no matter how faint it may be. Even things such as trees and plants have their own aura, though it’s hard to pick up on because of how faint it is. On the opposite end of the spectrum, a human’s aura was by far the strongest which made tracking easy, especially when they were alone in a forest.
With your eyes closed, you were able to see the forest in black and white within your mind. You could see the faint red aura of Kaeli in the distance, but she wasn’t alone, surrounded by three massive wolves.
Panic gripped you as your eyes snapped open, your legs carrying you quickly in her direction. You heard them before you saw them – Kaeli begging them to leave her as they snarled and growled.
“Kaeli!” You cried, bursting through the tree line. Your sudden appearance startled the wolves and the one on the left lunged at you, teeth bared and jaw open wide. Your eyes flashed red as you issued a command, voice sounding as if it were layered. “Sit.”
The wolf whimpered, immediately sitting down and lowering its head, ears flat against its head. The other two charged at you.
“Sit!” you ordered, eyes flashing red. The brown wolf obeyed but you weren’t fast enough to use your power again as the black wolf jumped at you. You threw up your arm to block your face, wincing as its teeth sank into your flesh. With clenched teeth, you stared him directly in the eyes. “Retreat.”
The wolf slowly released its hold on you, whining in fear before scurrying off, his friends close behind. You waited until you could no longer sense them before you released the breath you had been holding, leaning back against a tree.
“Kaeli, are you alright?” you called out to her, a frown on your lips.
“Are you dumb?” She scoffed as she ran over to you, wide eyes set on the injury. “You just got attacked by a wolf but you’re asking me if I’m okay?”
You chuckled, taking her sass as a good sign that she was unharmed.
“I’m so confused,” she breathed out, eyes filling with tears. “Your eyes, they… were they glowing? And those wolves, they… they listened to you! How…?” She shook her head, wiping furiously at her eyes. “We have to get you to the hospital!”
“I’ll be okay.”
“You’re bleeding!” she cried in exasperation. “Yu-oji is gonna be so upset when he finds out…”
“Which is why we’re not gonna tell him,” you chuckled, knowing how protective your boyfriend could be.
“I think he’s gonna notice, oba-chan!”
Your heart warmed when she called you her aunt because it didn’t feel forced, it felt natural, as if you truly were part of her family. “Can you keep a secret, Kaeli?”
“I can, but -” she motioned frantically toward your bleeding arm. “He’s going to see it!”
“I guess we’ll just have to fix that, then, hm?”
“How?”
“Do you believe in magic?”
“Magic?” Her brow furrowed as she searched your gaze, realization slowly dawning on her. “No way…”
You smiled, holding your hand over the wound. Your eyes glowed red and your hand followed soon after, tendrils of red light shooting toward the wound. Warmth enveloped you as it slowly started to close, leaving not a single mark behind.
“Holy shit,” she muttered, eyes snapping to yours. “Don’t tell dad I said that.”
“Your secret is safe with me if mine is with you.”
Kaeli nodded frantically. “So, you’re a…?”
“A witch,” you admitted, watching her expression carefully for any sign of fear.
Rather than act afraid, though, her eyes lit up. “That’s so cool! Yu-oji is marrying a witch!”
Before you comment on the statement, you heard Yuken’s voice echoing through the trees, alternating between calling out your name and hers.
“Over here, babe!” You called out, peering around the tree so you could see him.
Relief flashed across his face when he saw you and he rushed forward, throwing his arms around your body. He exhaled sharply beside your ear. “I was so worried. I saw a few wolves and I thought…”
You patted his back gently. “Don’t worry, we’re perfectly fine. How’s Mikki doing?”
“Mom?” interjected Kaeli, voice trembling slightly. “Did something happen to her?”
“She went into labor, kiddo,” answered Yuken with a smile, ruffling the top of her head. “Do you want to stay here or go see her at the hospital?”
Kaeli bit her lip, shifting from one foot to the other. “Oba-chan?”
“Yes?” you looked at her curiously, ignoring the smirk that came across Yuken’s face when he heard what she called you.
“Do you think… they’re mad at me?”
“No. I think they’ll be happy to see you safe and sound, ready to meet your new sibling.”
She nodded, a smile coming to her lips. “I wanna go to the hospital, Yu-oji!”
“Then let’s go!” He slipped his hand into your own, starting toward the house. Kaeli ran ahead, pausing when she got too far so the two of you could catch up.
───── ⋆⋅🍂⋅⋆ ─────
You stifled a yawn as you stepped into Yuken’s bedroom, tossing your jacket on the desk. Yuken came in behind you, shutting the door behind him.
“Take the bed,” he mumbled tiredly, rubbing at his eyes.
“Not a chance.”
“I’m too tired to argue, love,” he groaned, trying to send you a stern look.
“Then don’t,” you grinned, lying down atop the air mattress that sat on the floor beside the bed.
His eyes narrowed at you and he didn’t hesitate to follow, laying his body on top of your own. You huffed at his weight but said nothing, wrapping your arms around him as he buried his face in your neck.
Silence fell over the room and you thought he had fallen asleep until he spoke up, his voice soft. “I’m really glad you came with me.”
“You didn’t really give me a choice,” you teased, combing your fingers through his silky hair.
“You wanted to come and you know it.”
“I can neither confirm nor deny that.”
He scoffed, arms tightening around you. “I love you so much. I’m happy we’re gonna get married one day…” His voice trailed off as sleep claimed him and you smiled, feeling warmth fill you.
“Yeah… I’m happy about it, too.”
Despite how exhausted you felt, sleep refused to come for you and you laid there for hours before finally giving up. Yuken slept pretty heavily, so you were able to slip out from beneath him without waking him up.
The house was silent, half the participants asleep while the other half were still at the hospital with Midori, waiting for her child to finally arrive. You slipped out into the backyard, breathing in the early morning air. It was still early so the sun hadn’t yet begun to peak its head over the horizon.
The clouds had disappeared and, though the stars were barely visible now, the full moon was still shining brightly as it slowly sunk lower across the sky. You fell onto the bench in the garden, exhaling softly.
Your body was sore from using your magic, though you weren’t surprised. Controlling magic was complicated, an advanced form of magic that required your own energy in order to pull off correctly. It was a tiring form of magic that witches tended to avoid simply because of how draining it was. You didn’t regret it, though, and would happily do it again.
The bench creaked as someone sat beside you and you glanced over, surprised to find Yuken’s father sitting there. You straightened up on instinct, feeling a bit nervous. The silence was heavy and uncomfortable so you forced yourself to speak.
“Can’t sleep?”
His dark eyes fell on you, narrowing. “I know what you are.”
You sucked in a breath, fingers curling around your pants. “I… I’m sorry?”
“Witch.”
Your heart fell to your stomach and you swallowed hard. You didn’t want to deny it because you’d be lying to his face – not a good thing to do to your future in-law. You couldn’t bring yourself to admit it either, though, terrified that he would tell you to break up with his son. Instead, you remained silent, trying to calm your nerves.
“I knew the moment I saw you. You witches have the same aura.”
You held back a groan. Of all the people to possess the rare ability to see a witch’s aura, why did it have to be the father of your boyfriend?
“I don’t like witches,” he stated, folding his arms over his chest.
You lowered your head, feeling ashamed despite having done nothing wrong.
“When I was a boy, a witch tried to kill me. Nearly did, too.”
“I’m so sorry,” you replied softly, feeling genuinely sad by this information. Not just because he was Yuken’s father, but also because witches who attack humans only make things worse for the race as a whole.
“Do you know how I survived?” he questioned, his gaze falling on you again.
You could imagine a few ways, none of them pleasant.
“My life was saved… by a witch.”
Your eyes snapped to his in surprise, having not expected that at all.
His eyes flickered to the necklace hanging around your neck. It was a red jasper crystal in the shape of a pendulum, hanging from a thin, black rope. “The witch that saved me was wearing that.”
You lifted your hand to the pendant with wide eyes. The necklace belonged to your mother, passed down through your family for generations. It was tradition to pass it on to your child upon their fifteenth birthday because that’s when they become a full-fledged witch.
You didn’t know what to say, your lips parting and closing repeatedly.
“If you’re the child of that woman, then I have no doubt that you’re one of the good witches. My son seems enamored with you and, while I’m weary of your kind, I don’t want to hurt him.” He shifted so he was facing you, eyes narrowed. “If you hurt my son in any way, I promise you will regret it. Witch or not, no one will stop me from protecting my child.”
You nodded in understanding. “I promise, Odajima-san, I will never hurt him. I… I love Yuken more than anything else in this world. I would die for him happily.”
“While I admire your dedication,” he grunted. “We don’t die for the people we love. We live for them.”
Your eyes widened at the wise words. “Yes… yes, you’re right.”
He nodded, seeming satisfied that he had gotten all of that off of his chest. He stood up, turning to head back inside only to pause, glancing back at you. “Tell your mom thank you. I didn’t get the chance.”
“I will,” you promised, watching him re-enter the house. Your body relaxed against the bench, a wide smile on your face as you turned your gaze to the sky, fingers brushing the crystal absent-mindedly. As the sun peaked over the horizon, rays of light falling across your body, you couldn’t help but feel completely at peace.
You felt at home with the Odajima family, as if they were your own. They had welcomed you with open arms and, though only two of them knew the truth about you, they had accepted you for who you are. It gave you hope for the future, hope that the rest of his family would be just as accepting.

He knew that Martin was going to be a feisty one. And that the male was going to put up a fight with him. It's how it always went with Martin, but he knew to see through that, because there was always going to be a point where he gave in. With his arms wrapped around Martin's neck and snaking down to his chest, from behind him, so he could easily whisper into his ear. "What's the matter...." he pouted, with a slight hiss in the echo of his voice. "You think I look ugly, papi? I promise if you look at me... you won't think so.... have I ever lied to you or led you wrong." he said, feigning a slight pout in his voice. "When have we ever not had fun....M-a-r-t-i-n...." He sung the male's name, slowly letting his tongue trail the outline of Martin's ear lobe. "I'll put them away, if you pull something out. It's only fair." he teased even more.
Martin should have closed his eyes immediately, but he made the mistake of glancing at Kaa. More accurately, at those beautiful eyes... "No, no, nope." He manages to tear his eyes away, shutting them close. He backs away to the Jungle, turning away from the hypnotic influence Kaa holds over him. But the arms lock him in the place and Martin can't escape that voice. Growling, the werejaguar ponders how much trouble he could get in if he swipes at the snake right now. Khan would not like that... "I'm... not looking at you. I don't even remember what happened the last time I made that mistake. Not gonna fall for it again... Put those... eyes away and maybe we'll talk." Despite his words, it is clear that Martin is struggling to keep his eyes shut from the way the lids are fluttering.

only place I call home
prompt: ockiss24 — day 2: rain [@ockissweek] pairing: swtor ocs; cadrien tirai/minaiph (min belongs to @hythlodaes) word count: 1k
The first morning back on Dromund Kaas, it rains.
And not just a simple shower, but a downpour that spatters heavily across the balcony, thunder rumbling through his bare feet as Cadrien stands beneath the awning. He’s heard others complain of it endlessly over the years. Too dreary with all the rain, too humid with its untamed, sprawling jungles, too dangerous should the spires fail, but to him, it’s home.
A home where Min and he have finally returned.
Cadrien sips from a steaming mug of tea, taking in the rhythmic sound and flits of energy through the Force as a crack of lightning strikes a distant spire. It reminds him of a conversation with Jaesa as an apprentice years ago, how beauty can be found in the Force, too, that it isn’t all that the Sith say. That the manner he perceives as a Miraluka is no less than the way others may see and experience awe.
But none of the morning’s beauty comes close to capturing his attention like the vibrant figure that materializes behind him.
Familiar hands easily wind around his bare waist, palms rough from a life honed in battle yet gentle as they slip across his skin. Equally familiar lips press to his nape with a breath that ghosts down his spine, and he tilts his neck in anticipation of another kiss there, but instead, those same lips meet the gnarled scar of his shoulder.
“You know, it’s much too early,” Min says, his deep voice still thick with sleep. “We could still be in bed for another few hours.”
Cadrien resists the urge to laugh. “You could’ve stayed if you wanted, Min.”
“The problem with that is you weren’t there to keep me warm. You left me, cold and alone, to brood in the rain.”
“I’m not brooding,” Cadrien grumbles.
A quiet breath huffs against him as Min shifts, draping a soft fabric around both of them. A blanket, Cadrien thinks distantly, one that he must’ve dragged off of the bed in his drowsy search for him. The idea threatens to pull his lips into a hint of a smile, and he can’t suppress it once Min hooks his chin over his shoulder to rest, comfortably fitted as if he belongs there, always, like every slope of Cadrien has been shaped for him and him alone.
“It’s… peaceful,” Cadrien adds, leaning into the taller man. “I’ve missed mornings like this.”
Min hums. “It has been a long time.”
“Too long.”
Bitterness seeps into the low rumble of his own voice, more than he intends. Min assuages him with a sweep of his thumb on his abdomen, still holding the blanket around them, careful not to jostle his tea, but a comfort all the same. Cadrien reaches for the arm around him, giving a grateful squeeze before threading their fingers.
At least when Korriban had fallen, when even the remnants of the Dark Council had bowed to Zakuul’s reign, they still had each other. The Claws had stood in defiance and were hunted across the expanse of stars both charted and uncharted, so much time wasted to the pride and foolishness of others, but their partnership has always been their greatest strength, and so they still live.
Min draws him from his thoughts with a kiss that finally meets the slope of his neck, his lips curling in a smirk against his tender skin. “Now you’re brooding, Cade.”
“Perhaps,” Cadrien concedes.
“Do you want to talk about it?”
“No. We’re home now. That’s all that matters.”
“Then tell me about home,” Min says, slipping into that genuine curiosity that always brings him back to two boys among Korriban’s sands, one trailing after the other with an endless supply of questions. Once it had pestered him, but Cadrien has grown to love it more with each day. “What is the rain like to you?”
Yet another familiarity, this one. A habit they’ve forged in seeking the galaxy in each other’s view. Cadrien pauses with his mug halfway to his lips, considering the words to paint the visual for him. Min is patient, rubbing small circles into his skin with his thumb, as he grants him that time. Rarely so patient with others, but always with him.
“Faint, but… flickering. Brief flashes of the Force with each drop. The lightning is brighter, but more distant.” Cadrien ducks his chin, the dangling jewel on his mask brushing his temple with the motion. “You drown it out, though.”
“Me?” Min blurts with a startled laugh.
“You’re the brightest, most vibrant part of everything, Min.”
It’s ridiculous, really, how his heart races in his chest. Cadrien has sworn his love to this man a million times over by now, and the same in turn, but still, his admission leaves him raw, so exposed under the gaze he knows has found him, even if he can’t see it. And yet, never has he felt more safe than he does with Min’s arms around him and his heart in his hands.
“Get rid of this,” Min demands as he reaches for his mug, leaning away only briefly to set it aside somewhere, anywhere. “I need to kiss you now.”
Cadrien fully laughs this time, low and rough, but turns to face him more fully. A moment barely passes before Min crashes into him, palms cupping his face as their lips meet. The blanket flutters away from them, faint from their residual touch on it before it vanishes, his entire perception nothing but the glowing man in front of him. His own hands reach for Min’s hips for purchase, letting one slide beneath the hem of his shirt and up his warm torso to feel for the jagged scar that once saved his life.
Min’s urgency melts with the touch. It’s a simple understanding, their mutual devotion and how far each would go to ensure that the other continues to breathe, and the fact that they can savor this moment on the world where they built their names together is a reminder of the worth. There’s no need for rush when they have the rainfall and thunder crashing around them, and their languid touch with each kiss, and the promise of more mornings like this one, an entire future ahead of them together.

My Works Master File
Howdy! I do a lot of stuff across a lot of different platforms, so I figured that I should maybe collect some of them. I'm only including active or completed works in this - I do not have the best history of follow up lmao
ASOIAF
She-Wolf of the Rock: My first ever fic and... you can tell. It's also my most kudos story... we make do. It's dogshit and a fetish story before I understood that it was. But I'm still proud of it
Tentacle Porn, but the Tentacle is a Metaphor: Female Theon Greyjoy gets silly drunk and seduces Jon Snow
A Quiet Conversation: The recently married younger son of the King Rhaegar Targaryen, first of his name, has come back from war. And not only that, he's gotten married and has a baby! Modern AU where Jon decides he and Joffrey need to have a chat
The Daughters of Tytos Lannister: Tytos' children are genderswapped. Tya is Tywin, Tyene is Tygett, Kyrene is Kevan, Gerion is Abigael and Genna is Gerold. Female Tywin is just as brutal - but in a different sort of way
Who would win in a fight, Robert Baratheon or the Mountain? My first major Quora answer and also a respect Robert Baratheon thread. Plus, I figured people might want some more info on medieval weapons
Will George R.R. Martin's Winds of Winter be different than the television series? Will he change the outcome or events or keep things the same? This is for those who are familiar with the show but don't know that much about the books. This thread is my explanation of a few differences.
Cannibal, the Cradle Egg of Maegor the Cruel, is alive on Skagos and will bond with Jon Snow: A theory I think I actually came up with? I've always thought Cannibal on Skagos could be the 'Waking Dragon from Stone.' Idk, I first posted this on quora years ago but this reddit link is the most clear
Unnatural Histories: A book-accurate Spreadsheet of all Dragons in ASOIAF sorted by either age, size, or political affiliation.
Baldur's Gate:
A Plant on the Road to Baldur's Gate: Halsin and Jaheria find some weed. Lae'zel, who has never been high before, get's overconfident. Shadowheart metls. (3/3)
Saved (Against her wyll): Wyll/Minthara starting in act 2. He learns that she's brainwashed and feels morally obligated to save her - only to then find out she was always like that, just her allegiance changed. (2/3)
Mommy? Sorry: Tavomir of Fort Morninglord's mother comes to visit the camp. But... she didn't know Tav would be there. The rest of the camp reacts to his mother, specifically Wyll and Karlach
Star Wars:
Two There Must Be: Anakin/Vader's spirit, immediately after Endor, is teleported back over fifty years to be reborn as his own older sibling. Or should I say, her own because she's in a female body. Started as silly goofy, but now I'm really into the politics of the Prequel era
Title of Jen'ari: AU of 2tmb, set a thousand years before Yavin on the planet Dromuund Kaas. Has minor spoilers for 2tmb (read until chapter 13) but is largely independent of anything. Anakin and Ava are siblings and they're Sith attending an Election on Dromuund Kaas
Fan Map of Dathomir: Legends and Canon have two wildly different depections of Dathomir. My solution? It's just different continents lmao. I consider the Nightsisters to actually just be a collection of other clans under the authority of one Overclan and it's Matron - that being Talzin. The Language is butchered Slavic but such is life.
Misc:
Nieces and Nephews: Sabrina Spellman is prepared to face down the Dark Lord... only for a sarcastic, British asshole to walk into Dorian's. He flashes his detective badge, and claims to be Lucifer Morningstar, who came from LA to deal with an impostor. And oops, Sabrina is his daughter!
Conductive Materials: Female Toni Stark and Thor bond over the fact that position's of power can often limit their personal connections. And then they bond over not having a power dynamic over each other.
No One Escapes Cidhna Mine: My first attempt to chronicle my elder scrolls character. It was fine, I guess, I'm not too crazy about it and would definitely change a few things about it now. My Dragonborn (or the one I consider to be my 'main') is a Half Nord Half Reachman intent on reaching godhood through artifacts and political schemes.

Statistics Meme
Thank you @shabre-legacy for the tag! No pressure at all tags: @tishinada @actualanxiousswampwitch
Rules: give us the links to your fic with the most hits, second most kudos, third most comments, fourth most bookmarks, fifth most words, and finally the fic with the least words. (All of the ones that hit these benchmarks are my Lana/Viri fics; the Lucia/Rigel stories are, well, about a rare pair)
Most hits: An Open Affinity, which I adore, has 16,794 hits. This story is How Lana Met Viri, How Lana and Viri Figured Things Out, How Lana Lost Viri and how it all worked out. https://archiveofourown.org/works/12143142
Second most kudos: The Eternal Wrath, which has 296 hits. I love this story, which features Viri and Lana dealing with the time period post-KOTET. I'm especially proud of how I dealt with the Machines of War (locked behind a raid in-game), with Viri discovering the buried Machines were fueling a lot of the galaxy's problem spots, like Oricon and the "forbidden land" on Tatooine. Viri also took on the abilities and energy of every Machine she defeated, which came to a critical mass when she faced Zildrogg. https://archiveofourown.org/works/14255019
Third most comments: Sithy Snippets, a series of shorts mostly about Lana and Viri, has 29 comment threads. https://archiveofourown.org/works/13790595
Fourth most bookmarks: Five Times, which is about Lana and Viri's rekindled romance and reunion against the backdrop of the events of KOTFE, has 21 bookmarks. https://archiveofourown.org/works/12670263
Fifth most words: Commander and Advisor, which is a three-chapter fic set against KOTET chapter 2, where Viri goes missing in the jungles of Dromund Kaas and Lana frets about it, has 11,855 words. https://archiveofourown.org/works/15377217
Fic with the fewest words: Kiss: Celebratory, which is about the moment after Viri finishes her battle on the Eternal Throne and wakes up, has 506 words. https://archiveofourown.org/works/13373940
And this isn't in the rules but I thought I'd add.
Fic that is the only one in its ship tag: Alas, none of mine meet that criterion. Lucia/Rigel (Warrior of Light) is a rare pair, but I'm not the only one who has written a fic with that pairing.

Walking into Khan’s office was always like walking into heaven — because he would forever lose his breath when he saw the man that was the love of his life. Now did Khan have any feelings for the model-perfect serpent, probably not in the slightest, but Kaa always held hope, which made Kaa a fool for the Cartel leader. He could sense from the only source of heat in the room that he has turned the computer off and it showed that Shan still didn’t fully trust him — which tugged at the heart strings of Kaa. But he shrugged it off and just sat in the chair in front of Kahn’s desk.
“Six prospects, but — most are young boys that were lost in the woods, or to the streets, and one older gentleman, ex con, I used my powers on them to get scope them out and they seem legit. Just wanting a stable leadership, brotherhood, because their isn't much else in the world offering them shit." Kaa replied honestly. "Any prospects for you... in your love life." the serpent had times where he was bold and wanted to see who or what was keeping the male warm at night.
@khaoticfairytails
Sitting in his office in his headquarters, the weretiger was looking through his files when he heard an all too familiar knock. Making sure to lock his computer, he leaned back against his chair and turned to look towards the door, kicking his feet up on his desk. "Go ahead and enter, Kaa." Once the words were spoken, and the other had entered his office, he looked at him with an eyebrow quirking upwards and an almost expectant look upon his face.
"Well? What did you find out?" he asked the other male, arms moving to curl over his chest. "Any interesting prospects?"

OC Kiss - Nostalgia
(SWtOR; Marii/Tragen)
A friendly sparring match between former enemies, featuring my Jedi Knight Marii and @queen-scribbles Sith Warrior Tragen, with a side of UST (unexpected sexual tension). AU where they exist in the same universe and neither of them are pining after any spy boys or apprentices 😉 This was supposed to be platonic, but I immediately lost control of it when Marii realized how hot Tragen is and Tragen realized he has a Type and that type is “disillusioned former Jedi who still believes in the inherent goodness of people”
--
The training room on Odessen was always busy. It was almost as active as the cantina and command center, with a constant stream of people in and out at all hours. Understandable, with the ragtag collection of soldiers and mercenaries they’d assembled--not to mention the Mandalorians, Sith, and Jedi, who could turn even the simplest workout into a competition if enough of them were present.
So Marii was pleasantly surprised to walk in late one morning and find the place deserted.
Well, mostly deserted. The only person there was the Commander, who was on the far side of the room, dismantling a training dummy with a series of precise, controlled strikes. She took the opportunity to watch him work, under the guise of doing her own warm-up stretches.
Tragen Xo’ric wasn’t what she’d expected from the Wrath. She thought he’d be like Scourge, a mercurial mix of cold pragmatism and burning rage. She thought he’d at least be… well, wrathful.
But he wasn’t like any Sith she’d ever met. He was compassionate, and honorable, and noble. He spoke carefully, but with conviction, measuring his words like every conversation was a matter of life and death. How such light and warmth had survived so long in the cold rain of Dromund Kaas, she had no idea, but she was grateful for it.
Unfortunately for her, he was also charming and extremely handsome, with a smile that could make her weak in the knees. Of all the ways Tragen had surprised her, that was the one she’d been least prepared for.
He turned that smile in her direction, glancing over his shoulder at her. "Hello, Aramarii. Did you need something?"
She smiled back, but shook her head. “Just wanted to get in a workout before Lana’s mysterious briefing this afternoon. Unless you wanted to be alone? I don’t want to intrude.”
“You and everyone else, it seems,” he replied dryly. He turned away from the dummy, lifting the bottom of his shirt to wipe the sweat from his face.
Marii was so distracted by that brief glimpse of bare skin that she missed what he said next. She was jolted back to reality by a quarterstaff floating into her field of vision.
The only sign that Tragen had noticed her lapse in focus was a thread of pride curling through his aura, like a shaft of sunlight peeking out from behind the clouds. “Would you do me the honor of sparring with me?” he asked, presumably not for the first time.
She didn’t hesitate before taking the offered staff. “Training droids can’t keep up with you?”
“No one can.” It should’ve sounded boastful, but there was no arrogance in his voice. It was just a statement of fact. “But you have quite the reputation yourself, Battlemaster Wrinn,” he said her former title like it was some affectionate pet name, “and I must admit, I’ve been looking for an excuse to put it to the test.”
“Likewise.” She watched him as he stalked over to the collection of training weapons against the wall, returning the shinai he’d been using before and trading it out for a staff like the one she had. “Not every day I get the chance to fight the Empire’s Wrath and expect to survive to brag about it.”
He chuckled, low and dark, and gave her a crisp salute, quarterstaff held vertical in front of his face. “Whenever you’re ready.”
She returned the salute, holding her stick parallel with the floor. Then she lunged.
Their staffs met with a loud clack, and sent a ripple through the Force that knocked them both back a step.
Marii knew she was outmatched from the moment Tragen struck back.
She wouldn’t say he was a better fighter, necessarily; they were fairly equally skilled, and though he was stronger, she had the edge on speed. But the rumors had never mentioned how smart he was, the way he could predict and counter her every move before she made it, and without needing the Force to do so. Her attacks were reckless and clumsy in comparison, a sledgehammer fighting a scalpel.
That didn’t mean she wouldn’t make him work for it.
“Are you waiting for something, Tragen?” she teased over the tap tap tap of wood on wood. “I can write you a formal invitation.”
“Are you so eager to lose, Aramarii?” he replied in the same tone. “I thought we were having fun.”
As if that had been the cue he’d been waiting for, he knocked her staff to the side with a nonchalant motion. He nimbly side-stepped her attempt at a counter attack, then slipped his quarterstaff under her chin and used it to pull her back against his chest.
In a real fight, that would’ve been the end of it, but Marii didn’t surrender and Tragen didn’t ask her to.
He tipped her head back with a gentle press of the staff until it met his shoulder. “Something about this feels very nostalgic,” he murmured against her ear. “Are you sure we haven’t done this before?”
She tried to turn her head to look at him, but his hold was implacable. “I don’t think I’d have forgotten that. You make an impression.”
Before he could reply, she threw her elbow back into his solar plexus. He grunted at the impact, and his grip loosened just enough that she could slip away and out of reach.
They circled each other slowly, taking the opportunity to catch their breath.
Marii spun her staff in a leisurely flourish. “You know, I’m honestly surprised Vitiate never ordered you to hunt me down.”
“I’m sure he’d have gotten around to it sooner or later.” A shadow passed over Tragen’s face, but it didn’t linger long enough to figure out what it meant. It was replaced with another charming smile. “He never got the chance. Some hotshot Jedi snuck into his base and killed him.”
“‘Hotshot,’ huh?” she repeated, trying to figure out what he meant by that. Neither the Force nor his expression gave her any clues.
He hummed in agreement or amusement. “Not fond of that one? How about ‘brazen’? ‘Fearless’? ‘Beautiful’?”
He closed the distance between them without warning, and Marii didn’t quite get her weapon up fast enough to block him. He disarmed her with an almost casual flick of the wrist, and the tip of his staff was pressed under her chin once more before hers had even clattered to the floor.
“How about ‘hotshot Jedi who needs to adjust her guard on her left side.’” Tragen took a step closer to her, using the end of the staff to tilt her head back, just like he had before--only this time, it was so he could maintain eye contact. With his free hand, he pushed a few errant strands of hair out of her face. “Wouldn’t want you to make that mistake when it counts. I’d hate to see you get hurt because of it.”
“You think I’m beautiful?” she blurted out.
His expression softened, his smile turning hesitant and almost shy. “I do.”
Marii closed the gap between them and pressed her lips to his.
She didn’t fully realize she’d done it until she felt the bright spike of surprise from him through the Force, and the weight under her chin abruptly disappeared as his quarterstaff joined hers on the floor.
And then his fingers tangled in her hair and he was kissing her back with an intensity that was as unexpected as it was thrilling.
A shrill beep sounded from his comm, and the moment was over as soon as it began.
“Yes? What is it?” Tragen was breathing harder than he had been during their entire sparring session. Marii couldn’t hear the reply on the other line, but she recognized Lana’s voice. “Thank you. I’ll be right there.”
He sighed as soon as the call ended, and she couldn’t help but smile at how obviously disappointed he was by the interruption. “The Commander’s work is never done.”
An alert came from her own comm a moment later, and a quick check showed a new message from Theron.
He chuckled. “Neither is yours, it would seem.”
They reluctantly separated, picking up their discarded weapons and returning them to the rack.
“Aramarii--”
“Tragen--”
They both spoke up at the same time, whatever they were going to say next dissolving into nervous laughter.
He rubbed sheepishly at the back of his neck. “You first.”
“I…” she trailed off, unsure where to start, and what came out of her mouth was, “I’m free this evening if you want a rematch.”
“If I want a--” He gave her a warm smile when he caught her meaning. “I’d like that. Assuming whatever waits for us in the command center will let me delay until tomorrow.”
She leaned in to kiss his cheek, slipping away again before he could convince her to linger. She still had a giddy grin on her face when they finally arrived at the war room.

I had a great desire for some soft KhelQuinn so I started what’s become a sort of ‘extra scene’ or epilogue to Cleansing Our Ashes. Whoops.
The Mirialan was asleep on his side, turned away from Quinn - not cold or aloof, but in a way that spoke of implicit trust in what lay at his back. His golden skin was faded to a muted, almost verdant hue in the blue shadows of the room, and his dark copper hair looked nearly black where it was strewn against the pale pillow.
Malavai tentatively leaned closer. The even set of Khel’s face seemed softened by sleep, though he still looked older than Quinn was accustomed to. Lines drawn by more than laughter etched around his eyes, a slight hollowing of his cheeks and temples where war had scraped away the easiness of youth. Quinn felt a muffled pang in his chest at the thought. But then he supposed he looked much the same - a bit leaner, a bit grimmer. Certainly with more grey threading through his hair than he preferred, though Khel didn’t seem to mind it.
And still, even sitting beside him, watching the slow rise of fall of the Sith’s chest against the blankets, Malavai almost couldn’t believe that both of them were here. His mind was still reeling under the abrupt reversal of his own circumstances. Five years in prison, culminating in being shoved against a wall and nearly shot by an Imperial execution squad, only for Khel to descend like a cold and vengeful star upon the scene and whisk Malavai away. Back to the proud, ordered spires of Kaas City, where Quinn had taken his own brutal revenge on the worm who’d thrown him in prison, uncovered a conspiracy against Empress Acina in the process, and then found himself, at the end of the day, not only pardoned for his crimes, but promoted.
Quinn couldn’t protest how things had turned out, of course. Not at all. But from any reasonable perspective - it really was all a bit much.

How marriage is completed in Arya samaj? And What’s the process of marriage in Arya Samaj Mandir?
Arya Samaj Mandir in Noida, It was based with the only purpose of clearing Hindu Dharma from all ambiguities and returning to Vedic teachings. The Arya Samaj is based totally on the reasons for the everlasting reality set out within the everlasting Vedas. It works for the sole reason and this is “Krinvanto Vishvam Aryam”…
Rituals earlier than marriage
Shudhi – Shudhi is an tremendous ritual wherein the couple, if they may be of non-Hindu origin, ought to become Hindus. Shudhi means purification. This is important due to the fact the founders of the religion Maharishi Diana and Saraswati simplest believed in Hinduism as an proper native faith. Other religions may emerge from conversion. Let’s Visit Arya samaj mandir in Ghaziabad to done your marriage.
Mehendi -The mehendi ceremony has a lady who has applied henna in designs on her palms. All different women also have mehendi on their fingers. Mehendi is related to the marriage photo of an Indian girl. Nowadays it is fashionable to have mehendi in specific and as whimsical colorations as possible. So you regularly locate mehendi with sleek body and glossy powder.
Brahmbhoj -Brahmbhoj is a unique wedding ceremony ritual through Arya Samaj in which sixteen Brahmins are invited for a conventional lunch. The primary concept is to get hold of their advantages. The caste gadget assumes that the Brahmins are the highest caste and is associated with the performance of all Vedic rituals. It is constantly considered exact to acquire their benefits in ceremonies like this wedding ceremony and thread rite.
Phoolon Kaa Gehna -Phoolon Kaa Gehna is a stunning ceremony adorned with the fragrance, splendor and purity of vegetation. The female need to enhance herself with plant life. This isn’t a mandatory characteristic of Arya Samaj marriage and not everybody follows this ritual.
Chhoodha and Nath Ceremony – In this ceremony, the girl wears twenty one ivory purple bracelets. The range twenty-one is taken into consideration fortunate and purple is the coloration of the bride and groom. Nat is a conventional nostril ring given to him by his maternal uncle to put together for the new existence he desires to stay.
Wedding Rituals
Vramala ki kriya – Vramala ki kriya is nothing but a bridal couple who, consistent with Indian custom, exchange colorful bouquets and accept each other.
Swagat Vidhi – Swagat Vidhi, because the name shows, includes a welcoming ritual. The bride offers holy water to the groom to scrub his ft. Hindu marriage perspectives the groom as the picture of God. There are several remarks on this. One is that after a person and girl get married, they resemble Shiva and Parvati. Shiv is the eternal Purusha (soul) and Parvati, the first rate goddess, is Prakriti (nature). How Parvati repented to just accept Shiva and publish to him. Likewise, the bride (married to Arya Samaj) seems at her husband and washes his toes.

His back hit the giant rock behind him, lipplates sealed for a moment as he looked up at the deity-like being in front of him seemingly contemplating what he’d say next. “Enlighten ye, y’say? How would I do so, exactly?”
His eyes didn't react to the light as it was turned on, other than the fact they seemed to glow, for a moment, before settling back to normal. Well, he was full of little surprises, wasn't he? Kaazar couldn't wait to see what else he had up his sleeve ...
"Because you're different." He stated simply, voice echoing lightly around the two of them. "I could not satiate my curiosity, seeing something as ... fascinating as you. So ..." He stepped forward a bit more, slowly closing the gap that was between them. "Care to enlighten me?"
