Admittedly, High Tide found it quite embarrassing to reach out for others to fix the result of his clumsiness — even if it’s a kid in the play — but something on that boy made him ease out and accept the offer. After all, Optimus spoke greatly about him — that is, if he was the same kid the leader talked about —, so he had to be good at his thing, and thus, the mech could trust him. Not the first time this happened and probably won’t be the last, he thought for a moment before giving the boy easier access to his frame to check his situation.
Curious green optics peeked down to him, internally wondering about that kid and his... intriguing set of tools, wandering in his thoughts for a moment. How old is he? 14? 15? How come someone this young know anything about fixin’ robots and engineerin’ in general? That suit looks way too advanced for him to handle though, let along be a hero and constantly be at risk of great danger... But hey, the mech can’t be the judge of anything, San Fransokyo itself was extremely rich in advanced technology as he already witnessed before... No doubt they could teach advanced topics to children in here, and no doubt they also learned to accept that not all robots are cruel machines in a place like this. It does feel like his home...
Tumblr media
The question made High Tide break his line of thought and focus back to current reality, blinking a few times before looking down at the boy. “Oh, that pipe is connected t’ my mask when I’m in ‘robot form’, the mask’s used for protection and t’ keep water from comin’ inside. But y’are also right t’ assume it helps with air flow, but it’s more useful when I’m in my altmode,” he calmly explained, restraining himself from moving too much to avoid making the job difficult. “Optimus does know I’m here, don’t ye worry ‘bout bein’ at fault for this damage. Also... Are ye Hiro Hamada, by any chance?”

“For Primus sake.” Not arguing just yet, High Tide just tiredly sighed and actually struggled to get Overlord to sit upright on the floor. He could have put any extra effort to pull the bigger mech to his pedes, but the captain decided that way was better for talking to the other face to face. “Ye can’t do that everytime ye see me, y’know?”

The Big Question
A so awaited starter for @faultfindingfirebot
Months came and went by quite fast when you’re busy with rescues, assisting and... working on projects to surprise your loved ones of course, which High Tide himself prepped in secret for this occasion.
He waited for a perfect day where he guaranteed it was calm enough to call Heatwave by the beach on a little date just so they can both take some time for themselves. But still, why was he feeling so nervous? His spark was pounding hard on his sparkchamber, and he was just getting the date setting ready yet!
It was a fairly simple picnic setting by the waves (thanks to some tips from Dani and Cody of course) as he set some energon snacks aside that he thought it’d be... adequate for the occasion, standing by the area and looking towards the other side of the beach.
All that was left to do is wait.

It seemed like the former submarine understood their hesitation by his presence. The mech was overwhelmingly big, the darkness of the scenario around them only lit by the moonlight only highlighting his imposing presence accidentally giving him more of a menacing vibe. Even with his dog companion being quite comfortable around said machine, the tension surrounding them was still too dense. There was nothing any of the robots could do to ease said tension, apart from observing and waiting
Tumblr media
When the dame’s gaze met the machine’s, she could notice a curious green glow underneath the visor. Said mech was obviously intrigued by this unique duo before him, optics lightly flaring between the two. Sure he was rudely intruding for all he knew, but there was… something else on her, something quite different he couldn’t quite put his finger on… literally saying. Her dog constantly yapping at this large frame didn’t help much the hesitation it appeared to show, countered by the metallic dog calmly yapping at its owner.
Green optics followed the dame when she slowly approached his form, not moving from his position to not alarm the other canine further. Even though there was sand sticked against his armor, it appeared to shine calmly through the moonlight as if it was previously well polished. Servo didn’t complain at receiving head pats again, meeping happily at them in fact! That did help ease the tension when said dame interrogated him again, the small dog sitting by his owner’s side. Silence filled the air for a full painful minute that seemed like more, when it was broken by a noise that came from… The mech’s mask?
Tumblr media
The mask that previously covered his face clicked and shifted backwards, visor clicking up and the mouth cover hiding behind the facepipes. Now that’s a better way to see how he looked like! “… I’m sorry for intrudin’, ma’am.” Oh, so he could talk! Even being this tall, the mech had some manners and even kept a calm voice as he spoke. “I came here after my dog, we didn’t mean t’ cause any confusion”

... Oh, boy...
The way Overlord wobbled his arms around was both funny and... kind of concerning. Thank Primus they weren’t on water yet, otherwise things would escalate pretty quickly in a bad way.
Tumblr media
“That’s... a way to start it,” High Tide calmly pointed, lifting an index digit. “But y’are doin’ it wrong. Watch me, and try t’ copy it.”
He took a step back and lifted both servos next to his chassis, slowly flinging them outwards and then back to the starting point in a proper breaststroke a few times so the other could copy. The captain was surprised the former(?) Decepticon knew the basics of it! At least... sort of.
"Nonsense!" Overlord exclaimed. "This was the most expensive flotation device they had in stock. It will do just fine. Besides..." He started. "It's so adorable!" Overlrod gave the ducky a squeeze, loud and drawn out honk/squeak filling the air.
"Now! Where do I start?" He beamed, excited to learn. "Maybe paddling?" He started flinging his servos around awkwardly, trying to mimick a proper breaststroke form and just.... looking like a drowning and... intellectually challanged jellyfish with all that wobbling.
"Is this right?"

@biggest-ultra-mags || cont. from x
Ultra Magnus didn’t change much from what the sea fairing mech could remember, but a noticeable difference in his overall actions. What could’ve led him to do such? This wasn’t something for High Tide to worry right now, as he shoved said thought at the back of his mind to shake the other’s servo in a firm grip! Whoops... At least he was quick enough to notice and quite quickly released it! Hopefully Ultra Magnus didn’t notice or felt pain though...
Tumblr media
“Hah! Ain’t no ‘Cons gettin’ close to Griffin Rock on my watch, Mag! I mean, Ultra Magnus.” He had to control his accidental nicknaming out of time too. “It has been fairly quiet recently, so we’re all okay aside from the normal island madness of course. But that’s a normal daily shenanigans I might say.”
When the enforcer mentioned staying over shortly made the sea mech a bit more content! He also never expected one to be interested in his stories, so of course he’d lightly fold both servos into small excited fists for a moment before setting them to his back.
“Well sure I’d love to share some of my tales! But I must ask... If y’are staying on Earth, where ya goin’ to stay durin’ this time? Because... Well... I can offer a stay on my ship if ya want to.”

Admittedly, High Tide found joy with the Straw Hats since Nami decided to introduce him to the crew as a way of thanking him for rescuing her. Of course, there was these men that called themselves the Marines that wanted to, apparently, explore his frame to study for new weaponry... Oh well. The consequences of having to sacrifice his identity to save a life. But there he was now, in a more convenient size so he could hide better from the others and interact with his new friends!
“Nah, don’ worry ‘bout it,” he gestured with a chuckle as he leaned his back against a nearby wall, “I just snatched one from the kitchen without him knowin’ what happened. I’m safe, at least until he figures out why is there less tangerine than before.”

High Tide slightly flinched when she reached for his own hands, but before he knew the mech was also holding her hand into his with an even so slight squeeze. He seeked to give her the comfort she might need, but it was pretty difficult with his head spiraling in blasted warnings to himself.
“Am I?” That compliment surely caught him off guard, as it wasn’t at all an expected act from someone else. Before replying to that statement, he unconsiously reached to hold both her hands into his. “Well, I... Think I can say the same ‘bout ya. Y’are equally as fascinatin’ t’ me.”

Tumblr media
High Tide’s sensors were still kicking high from all the quick commotion and turn of events, not to mention the ache on his knee joint that was, also, overwhelmingly annoying and blasting through his mind. And yet he forced himself to remain calm, shoulder plates slightly swiveling as he unstifenned his arms the best he could. After all, he was still under an unknown force that kept him from moving any part of his body outside the eyes and his mouth, not to mention still keeping him from falling over.
Admittedly, the mech considered trying to transform away from the scene given that he was somehow in the water and he could vanish by going deep in the ocean, but it was quickly dismissed due to many factors, mainly the fact he couldn’t even move his head and he didn’t want to confirm he was indeed a threat to them, not to mention the orca guy could probably follow him with ease as well. Whatever that League of Villains thing is, it sounded quite dangerous and something High Tide didn’t want to be affiliated with.
Tumblr media
He patiently waited for the other to inquiry him again, gaze slightly softening as the police moved back for his comfort. He could easily say who he was, but the place where he came from was a tricky question. He could mention either his home planet or his temporary place on Earth, but either of those could be a great risk since there was reporters all around like nosy mosquitos trying to get a nibble of fresh takes for the news. The mech had to reply though, even if as vaguely as possible.
“The name’s High Tide and I came from an... island far from here. My concern at the moment is not goin’ back home, my main priority is to assure y’all that I came in peace and intent to bring no harm t’ anyone innocent. I’m simply lost and would like to know where I am, simple as that.”
Tumblr media
With everything that had seemingly happened to High Tide, it seemed like it was more of at the wrong place at the wrong time. It had seemed a lot of the region was already on edge thanks to the other activity being done by different villains lately, so to find out that there was a giant robot that had been caught in a fishing net at the docks in town, it had sent a lot of people into a frenzy. That wasn't to say that everyone knew about this yet, especially reporters that was something Sakamta would like to avoid if he could, but the people who were closely involved with working with heroes and watching villains were not all too happy about this.
Even more unhappy when they realized the mech was armored and could take a fair beating from local police, despite landing good hits on him here and there. It wasn't the best welcome ever for someone, of course, but it wasn't like Sakamata or many others were used to seeing robots who could talk and looked kind of like a human. It was a new experience, that was for sure, and Sakamata was sure this was going to be some sort of trick or new device made by the League of Villains in order to take the heroes off-guard in the future, but at the same time...
The robot didn't seem to be violent in any way. Sure, he was massive and was able to take damage, but that didn't mean he would want to attack them or anything. And as Sakamata looked up at the robot and listened to his response to the accusation, something inside of the orca was telling him that the robot was telling the truth, which seemed to be a rare occurrence these days. Maybe there was nothing to all of this and it happened to be, well, now the people of Japan got to meet an actual giant robot in person now. Which, in theory, sounds fun, but Sakamata knew people would still not entirely be too friendly to someone, even if they were a good robot.
This prompted the orca to dive into more questions because now there was more left unanswered about the robot as a whole.
Tumblr media
❝Hmm...❞ was all that came from Sakamata's mouth at first as he continued to look at the robot and think about the options that were currently presented to him. As much as part of him still said that this could be a trap in some form or fashion and that the robot wasn't friendly, there was a side of him that was overpowering those thoughts and agreeing with the idea this robot had no ill intentions, nor any connection tot eh League of Villains. After all, someone who looked as confused as High Tide did would certainly have to put on quite the acting show just to fool people otherwise...
❝I have reason to believe what you said is true in this case. But, as you can imagine, a lot of us around here might be on edge from how I worded those first questions and I apologize for that and any harm the police have caused you,❞ he remarked and motioned for the police to back off a bit so the two could talk, ❝You can imagine the fisherman who grabbed you were quite surprised to find they had caught a giant robot in their net after they fished you out, considering we don't normally seem to deal with robots in our daily lives...❞
He paused for a moment and he sighed, giving a small eye roll.
❝Outside of movies, at least... I know I may be asking too many questions of you right now, but I want to start simple. What is your name and where did you come from? We can't exactly promise you that you'll be able to return home anytime soon, especially not if more people find out, but it might help us learn a bit more about you and figure out where to go from there.❞

At this point High Tide didn’t mind the other over his helm at all. Whenever they met, the space gorilla always find his place on the mech’s head and simply sits there everytime, prompting the mech to sit on the floor as well. It became a little bit of a schedule as well, one might think. After all, what could he even do? Fight back? No thank you, he preferred this kind of ‘routine’ than fight.
“I’m just askin’.” He started without taking his optics from the gadget he was fixing with a golden screwdiver look-a-like. “We are two aliens from different species and I highly doubt y’are gonna leave my hel- head any time soon. I just thought I’d ask, that’s all.”

@bagofbaddies wanted a starter for Cala Maria!
Tumblr media
The moment a sudden big shadow were cast over him, High Tide almost immediately turned around from the docks and glanced right up, green optics meeting upon a big mermaid-gorgon creature that was apparently staring down at him. Of course he was shocked due to such size difference, not helping the fact that he was in his 6'2ft height to trail better around the place because of his special Minimi-Watch.
The mech was unsure on what to do as he never met before with such view — also not helping the fact that he was full of some algae in his pipes — as he approached the edge of the wooden platform, blinking a few times before finally speaking up with a respectful tone in his throat, although hesitant. “M... May I... help ya?”

High Tide was aware that Blitzwing has more than one personality, taking his time to always learn about how each worked or reacted to certain things, or how each of them would usually switch from one to another. Icy seemed to be the one that appeared the most as calm individual, Hothead was... well, a short tempered hothead that the captain could deal with and Random was the most chaotic of the trio, in a way or another.
The fact he knew that because they encountered each other multiple times, even when / if they weren’t supposed to, was also a... consideration.
Tumblr media
“Yah, perhaps ye should watch out for yerself more.” He gave one last scan over the patching before giving Blitzwing’s arm a small tap and letting it rest on the other’s frame. “There, ye free t’ go buddy.”
Blitzwing was aware of how people took the personality switches and what their presences usually meant: Icy was the “safest” of the three– or at least the most stable. Hothead was dangerous, but could usually be somewhat reasoned with. The dark faced personality was by far the most dangerous, if only because of his unpredictability. High Tide's caution wasn't unwarranted.
Tumblr media
“I suppose it would be better for my warranty to watch how much damage I take, wouldn't it?” He laughed. “Unless it was voided a long time ago, then I can just have fun with it!”

          @solusprime 💙’d for a starter!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
“Oh... My... Vector Sigma...” High Tide approached carefully, green optics wide as he glanced at her. He heard rumours about a Prime roaming around the beach, but he wasn’t expecting them to be Solus Prime. Nothing wrong about her, really! The Fourth Prime was his biggest model since he was a simple youngling, which was a huge surprise to see her this close! And... not in the form of a statue this time!
The captain quickly realized something... wait... there was a glimpse of green color through her armor. Oh no, he forgot his blue lenses at his ship! The hurry got the better of him at that time it seemed, but he can’t simply run back to his ship to get the lenses. No. It would be impolite to the guest. He could only pray the Prime didn’t notice his optics... and also, that he wouldn’t just ‘fanboy’ a bit as humans say it.
“I—” High Tide was quick to slightly bow down in respect towards the weaponsmith in front of him. “I... I’m truly honored to see ya here, Solus Prime.”

As ink smeared through the thick walls of the entire place and making a puddle in the ankle level, High Tide couldn’t help but make a face through the looks of the building since the bright yellow hues damaged his optics a little. He was aware of a few occurrences and events that happens around the studio, but this time he was there for a special occasion as he let the ink demon lead the way.
Tumblr media
“So... ya said there is one large ink machine that kind of makes this place run right?” He asked, glancing around the place and looking at some doors nearby. “Could ya guide me through there? I always wanted to see it.”

“Calm down High Tide... Calm down. It’s just a normal question... like all friends do, right?” The sea mech seemed nervous as he approached the studio, glancing around with bright green eyes illuminating the dim scenario. What if he denies or say that he has things to do or what if he just doesn’t want to or...
He shook his head to avert those pesky thoughts, glancing around the corner to see if he could spot Bendy nearby. “Oi! Buddy! Are ya in there?”
