etherbonded:
…Yes, yes I would like to hold him. We just… gotta be a bit careful in order to not wake him up. ” She’s careful in taking their sweet baby into her hold, as if nervous to accidentally wake Kikuya in the process but it seems he’s still sound asleep as she tenderly holds him. And oh boy she can feel tears lightly glazing over her eyes as she looks at their son. Her heart practically melts looking at him while her smile widens, holding him makes her want to cry tears of joy for having a kid finally.
If someone had told her when she was younger that she’d ever have someone to love her like this and to take care of a child with? She wouldn’t have believed them in the slightest. She at one point believed that something like this would never happen but, life proved her to have been wrong. “ Oh… he’s so precious Ren, I adore him so so much. ”
She swears, her heart seems to grow bigger by the second for Kikuya.
He gently transferred Kikuya to Sumire, planting a quick kiss on her forehead as he did. As much as Ren loved holding their son, he loved seeing his beautiful wife hold their beautiful boy.
“He’s even more precious in your arms. Hold on, let me take a picture!” He said, trying to keep his excited voice quiet. Pulling out his phone, he brought up the camera app and angled it to get both of his favorite people in frame.
“Say cheese!”

I played Chou no Doku (so you don’t have to) - True Route
This is the BIG SPOILER route which reveals all the secrets. I decided to post this before anything else though because Majima’s route splits from this one and is easier to understand after knowing everything. Also I actually quite like this route so this post is more on the serious side, but with that out of the way we can have a good time with all the other ones later lol.
The route splits off after Yuriko’s mothers death. If you’d like to read what has happened before check out these posts: (Prologue 1) (Prologue 2) (Mizuhito’s Route 1) (Mizuhito’s Route 2)
Yuriko finally gets the hint that the Chinese Bellflowers are connected to everything that’s been happening. She decides to visit Lady Kyoko, since she’s an old friend of her mother and might know more about the situation than she lets on.
She asks if Kyoko knows anything about Chinese Bellflowers and if they have any connection to her deceased mother. The Lady states that she may know the answer, but in order to be completely sure of her suspicion she asks that Yuriko find her Mother’s diary. Kyoko concludes that the diary must still be around since it held great importance, but is likely hidden somewhere in the Manor.
At home Yuriko immediately starts searching the storehouse...
... and ends up finding some pr0n.
As she’s about to give up and just settle for the pr0n she’s found Yuriko spots a small hamper which, hidden among Kimonos, also holds her Mothers diary.
The diary is from 25 years back. Shigeko writes that she’s in pain, but not unhappy since due to her condition her Brother visits her a lot. Though she also wonders what he thinks of her inevitable marriage. A little later she writes that she misses her Brother and that he will be married soon as well.
There’s more talk of Shigeko being courted by Yuriko’s father and her hate towards the woman her Brother will marry. Eventually she says that she will have to leave her home to visit a “Villa”.
Sweet Home Alabama
Yuriko notes that some of the pages have been ripped out, specifically those about Shigeko’s time at said Villa...
Speaking of Brothers! Mizuhito shows up and asks why his sister decided to pay Lady Kyoko a visit. Yuriko tries to dodge the question, which leads Mizuhito to reveal that the Lady is bisexual and especially interested beautiful people - Yuriko to be precise. He warns that Kyoko isn’t as nice and innocent as she appears. Yuriko ends up getting mad since she clearly needs Kyokos help, so she storms out of the room saying that she’ll definitely be visiting her again the next day.
Mizuhito’s turn to get dragged.
On said next day Lady Kyoko starts to read through the diary, stating that she finds it hard to believe Shigeko would rip out pages herself. The women conclude that whoever is responsible for the missing pages did so in anger, and that they never wanted for anyone to find out about what happened at the Villa. Kyoko exclaims that she’s figured out the connection between the Chinese Bellflowers and what’s been happening - but also suggests that Yuriko find out the truth herself by visiting the Villa.
Once Yuriko arrives at the Villa she asks if there is someone that has been working at the place 25 years ago. It appears that the last person, called Kikuya, who fits that description left the Villa recently but lives nearby. Once at her house Kikuya immediately recognizes that Yuriko is Shigeko’s daughter since she looks just like her.
Kikuya was actually tasked with looking after Shigeko’s brother Kazukiyo and states that the sibling were very... “close”. Yuriko proceeds to ask about what happened 25 years ago which shocks Kikuya. The old women says that Yuriko’s father asked her the exact same question. He came 15 years ago with fire in his eyes, scared of what he might do to her Kikuya told the truth - something she was never supposed to tell anyone. The women can’t bring herself to say it again, which leads to Yuriko stating her thoughts - that her Mother gave birth in that Villa.
Kikuya confirms her suspicion and exclaims that Yuriko’s dad looked like a demon after hearing the truth. Terrified she told him the whereabouts of the child - which had been raised by a Maid like he was her own. The name of that Maid was Kikyo (Chinese Bellflower). Kikuya also confirms that the child called Kiyoshi was indeed born from an incestuous relation between Shigeko and her Brother. She goes on to explain about hearing a rumor that the entire family of said Maid disappeard...
After returning Yuriko decides to finally confront the killer of her parents. She heads to the Servant’s room (alone, of course) to speak with...
Immediately starting off strong. But I mean we know by now that Yuriko has a thing for calling guys she’s into “Brother”. Majima initially tries to laugh it off but stops once he realizes she won’t let things go.
I’m not sure if he means Mizuhito or Kazukiyo but either way he be dragging.
Yuriko tries to exclaim that all the time they’ve spent together couldn’t have been a lie - but Majima states that it was exactly that. He says that Yuriko must have come for a reason, which leads to her saying that she wants him to atone for his crimes by surrendering himself to the police. Majima remarks that he himself has not killed anyone but only pulled the strings. He goes on, wanting to know exactly how Yuriko figured out he was the child born in that Villa 25 years ago.
Please don’t go there.
Majima states that he smells like rotten fruit and that the scent becomes even thicker when he sweats (what am I writing....).
SWEET IS NOT THE SAME AS ROTTEN
Yuriko remarks that it must come from their Mother’s lineage and that they probably couldn’t smell each other since they have the same odor. Finally the conversation shifts away from the scent talk and to what motivated Majima to commit these crimes. He refuses to reveal exacly what Yuriko’s father did however, stating that his revenge is done.
Charming.
Majima says that he would have killed Yuriko if she had stayed ignorant and innocent. But he can’t bring himself to kill her who’s come alone to his room to face him head on. He states that Yuriko might get in trouble if she doesn’t get rid of him, which she rebukes by saying that killing him won’t bring her happiness. This leads to Majima saying that happiness doesn’t exist for him since he’s dirty. He says that he won’t be a threat to Yuriko anymore and that he’s going to leave the Manor. The two of them embrace and... I’ll spare you Round 2 of their scent talk.
Asgsjskdkl. Anyways after getting a whiff of Majima Yuriko once again has to point out that he really is her older brother.
SWEET HOME ALABAMA
Afterwards Majima says his farewell and Yuriko cries as she silently whispers that she likes him, knowing they will never meet again.
A few years later. We learn that Yuriko is working as a editor at a publishing company now but also solving cases that Kyoko introduces to her as a Detective (which is pretty cool tbh).
... and that Shiba is still trying to woo her. Ugh.
In fact she’s a very popular and well respected Detective. Content with her current life Yuriko states that she does not intent to marry anyone soon - or even for the rest of her life. On her way home she spots some Chinese Bellflowers on the side of the road. Flooded by memories she can’t help but wonder about what happened to “him”. The color of those flowers - Yuriko finds to be both beautiful and sad, just like the tears he shed that day.
-
& that’s the “true” route I guess? Honestly this is my favorite ending and I’m glad I got to experience it before the app was shut down. Detective Yuriko was a pleasant surprise. It’s a shame this game had such a bad localization because, even if the truth becomes pretty obvious eventually, the story is still quite intriguing. We can only hope that maybe someday Chou no Doku will get it’s redemption arc like Taisho x Alice did!

This... actually has a bit of history/context to unpack.
Legend says that it was invented because Hideyoshi wanted a unique sweet for his tea ceremony. His brother Hidenaga finds a sweets maker called Jihei, who presented this kinako-dusted mochi. Hideyoshi was delighted. Seeing the pinched ends of the mochi made it resemble a little bird, he named the new sweet “uguisu mochi”.
Despite commonly depicted as bright green in illustrations, the uguisu is actually mainly BROWN, with only a very subtle pale green-ish sheen under certain light. However, it is not at all bright green. The one that is green is actually a different bird called the “Mejiro”.
梅に鶯 Ume ni uguisu (bush warbler on plum blossoms/branch) is a common imagery used in various Japanese art on the subject of Spring. See a stock image depicting the “uguisu” as green below:
This error is considered to be a modern one, because there were many stores, who boasts a long history going all the way back from Sengoku era, that claims to still produce the “original” uguisu-mochi. Their uguisu-mochi are brown, not green, suggesting that in the past “uguisu” was understood to be brown.
Pictured below are uguisu mochi from Kikuya, who claims they were descended from THE very shop owned by Jihei:
How did the confusion happen? An independent researcher argued that the confusion happens in the Meiji period. The cause of it, they said, was possibly caused by ukiyo-e paintings depicting both uguisu and mejiro in the same colour. Modern viewers, who likely has never seen a real uguisu or mejiro, then perhaps confused the two birds. Especially because the uguisu is very shy in the wild, and the brightly-plumed mejiro is more likely to be seen.
Ukiyo-e by Kitagawa Utamaro. Left: Mejiro. Right: Uguisu.
Another reason they presented was surprisingly a snack called “Uguisu mame”, which is beans cooked in sugar. The person says that it was named such because in the old times, the beans ended up in a brownish colour, just like an uguisu.
But as modernization continued, producers of the snack began to add colouring to the beans, to emulate the bright green of fresh beans. Perhaps because of the name, modern people came to associate the bright green colour with the bird uguisu.

The Men of Yoshiwara: Ohgiya Part 1 - Takigawa Route
Now for the supposedly better sequel! I think it’s nice that the heroine Kiyoha is actually in Yoshiwara because she’s of age now, and this is kinda the thing women do to experience love and men. It’s kinda funny that the heroine this time around is really rich and even has a bodyguard (Musashi) with her! Hmm Ageha seems like a soft and nice guy that is actually really cheeky. He looks quite westernised though. Takigawa looks pretty cool, I think he might be my favourite looks wise, but he seems like the stern and strict type haha. Gakuto looks like a pirate with that eye patch haha! Utsusemi looks like a flirt maybe? Asagiri is definitely my least favourite, he looks like the haughty kind of guy that would bully the girl lol. Honestly though, I quite enjoy how Musashi helps Kiyoha on the side by explaining to her the manners and protocol of being in places like Ohgiya. Which is something I wish Kikuya explored, but I guess to be fair, Kikuya was more casual, whereas Ohgiya is the finest establishment in Yoshiwara, so the geisha must be pretty high class and they probably expect their customers to be high class too. I feel like Takigawa is quite similar to Takao though haha! Noooo! You can’t choose Musashi??? Why make him look so nice and cool too then?! I’m kinda sad now LOL. Anyway~ going in order (on the Nintendo Switch), so Takigawa it is.
Ooh if you look at the character introductions, Takigawa’s popularity is apparently equal to Takao! That’s interesting! I should have known that if Takigawa is the most popular geisha, then he’s definitely very prideful and confident that he can make Kiyoha fall for him and make her look at him and not anyone else. But it seems like Takigawa knows how Kiyoha feels though. It seems like he can tell that Kiyoha is only here to fulfill her duties as a woman, and does not intend to give her heart to him because she thinks everything about this is “fake”. Musashi is a great attendant/bodyguard! Not only does he protect her but he’s also her confidant! She shares her problems and worries with him and he advises her as well as encourages her to follow what she thinks is right to do. I really like him🥺🥺 I liked his advice that instead of letting Takigawa do what he wants, she should be the one to make Takigawa fall for her instead. I think that would be much more fun and interesting than just being on guard against him for thinking that winning over the pretty rich girls is just like a fun game.
It’s actually pretty refreshing to see that Kiyoha is physically attracted to Takigawa, but she refuses to give her heart to him even after they’ve had sex. It was so anticlimactic in a sense, because she easily fulfilled her family’s wishes of her, but at the same time, she really didn’t. All she did was physically do it as if she finished a chore lol. On the other hand, seeing other women insult Takigawa belittling him as just a geisha blah blah was quite saddening. It just goes to show that even though Takigawa is a top geisha, is super popular and loved, but in the end, he’ll still be treated as trash by customers because they just think of geisha as lowly people there to entertain them. When Takao said Takigawa was a boring person who has never fallen in love before, it kinda made sense why it felt like Kiyoha and Takigawa’s interactions always felt so “empty”. They’re both literally just carrying out their duties as men and women on this island and they both refuse to give their hearts to the fake marriages and love relationships in Yoshiwara. Takigawa’s words of “love” when they shared their night together rang hollow as just “words”, whereas the thing with Takao is that even though his words are always flirty and it doesn’t seem like he’s serious, he’s actually very sincere with his flirting, and I think that’s the difference between a guy who can shake your heart and one that can’t. Takao’s few lines really made me remember why I was honestly ensnared by him in Kikuya haha.
Lmao at Takigawa insulting but complimenting Kiyoha at the same time haha. Kinda exciting for Kiyoha to be in the charge of the outfits for his procession for her though, it’s kinda nice that she’s actually motivated about something lol. Wow, to think that Takigawa actually knew about Kiyoha from long ago because she was like a girl with a magical pouch who gave him candy and an origami crane when he was a kid. It’s kinda cute how he remembers that. It’s nice that they describe the procession as like a marriage ceremony, since they literally do something like a parade and then the geisha comes together with the woman as if they’re now officially tied together as partners forever. It’s kinda sweet when you think about it. Although I felt that Takigawa was cold and hollow with his words before, when he said that he wants Kiyoha to believe in his love for her and how he wants her to think that choosing him brought her happiness, I was rather touched. Despite what things he may be hiding and how “loveless” their relationship felt before, right now it really feels like they have become much more honest with each other. It was obvious that the procession was going to end badly with how much they wanted the procession to succeed lol. But to think that they would split open Takigawa’s kimono and show the world his tattoo that his mum branded on him before he was sent to Yoshiwara... It’s saddening to think that Takigawa was treated horribly by his mother too, just like that little boy Kiyoha encountered before. I guess it’s stressful to be a mother to boys though, since they basically get stolen from you no matter what, you’re basically raising them to be sent to Yoshiwara eventually… It was very sweet but saddening of Takigawa to apologise to Kiyoha about the possible impact of this on her family business and how it ruined all the effort she put into the procession, I mean I’m sure he’s embarrassed and hurt by having his tattoo shown to the world too but he’s thinking about her first. It hurt to see Takigawa so down about his tattoo surfacing as a kind of nightmare of the past for him. Well, as expected, Takigawa is the big brother of that little boy~
Wow, I can’t believe that in order to attract customers at the window interested in his tattoo, they used to lash his back (to keep the tattoo visible and prominent since his skin needs to be flushed to see it) constantly! I can see why Takigawa would want to hide all that and just want to keep his perfect image as the top geisha.. he really suffered blood and tears to get to this position. I think it’s really sweet that Kiyoha finally remembered him, and it’s not like she completely forgot about him, she just thought he was a girl when they were young haha. I can see why a first love would be so important to geisha though, because in the end, everything here in Yoshiwara is fake, yet it takes up most of their lives, so it’s unlikely for them to find any kind of true love during their teenage to adult years. It seems like the story wants to redeem the mother’s “tattoo” as a form of love to remember her children, and I don’t deny that she probably had a bit of those intentions with the wings and everything, but it doesn’t change the fact that she abused Takigawa enough as a child that he himself chose to go to Yoshiwara before he was even forced to, and it doesn’t change that to this day she is still abusing her next kid. Sure, it’s definitely a terrible thing to give birth to boys, let alone having two, the amount of stress and sadness etc must be unbearable, but that doesn’t mean she can be excused for her actions of traumatising children imo.
Honestly, I don’t know why but I never really thought about the repercussions of buying out a popular geisha to the point that it could affect business. But I guess that’s true, if Kiyoha bought Takigawa, she would be depriving all the other women of him, and since the whole island is mainly women, their business could take a hit because of her selfishness of wanting to monopolise him. It doesn’t help that he’s recently become even more popular due to what happened at the procession. But I assume that with Kiyoha’s family’s wealth and influence, it should be fine imo. Um, that was easy. I feel like the law on this island is really….whatever. So, on one hand, they arrest Takigawa’s mother ready to execute her, but then after Takigawa and his brother say it was all a prank and that she didn’t abuse them, they just let her go??? Did they not check for bruises and marks from long term abuse? Honestly, I’m baffled at how loose the law is, it’s so ready to kill people but at the same time so ready to let people go, it’s pretty ridiculous. So glad Takigawa didn’t forgive her and took his brother away from her. It’s nice that he’s giving her the chance to change because he doesn’t want to regret leaving her to die even though he hates her I guess. It was really quite touching to see Takigawa arrive at the Somei family house and be welcomed so nicely by Kiyoha’s mother, they bought/took in both him and his brother and that’s so sweet. I love how Takigawa’s contribution to the family business is by showcasing their clothes to courtesans, modelling is a great job for him since he’s so beautiful! I like the other ending as well though! Seeing Takigawa make sales on clothes at Yoshiwara utilising his information network was pretty cool. I also really enjoyed their little trip to the mainland, it’s always cute to see their fascination and interest in different cultures and products.
Overall, Takigawa was all right. I thought I’d like him just as much as Takao in Kikuya, but honestly, even though it was pretty nice to see the usual transition of cold guy to wholesome guy kinda story, I think the transition was lacking. In the beginning, I could really feel how both Kiyoha and Takigawa were interested in each other but didn’t want to involve their hearts in this relationship because it’s “fake”. However, I couldn’t feel it when they both “loved each other” and wanted to spend the rest of their lives with the other. I don’t really feel their romance. But I did feel for Takigawa’s childhood, it was pretty terrible, and I’m glad Kiyoha supported him and everything, but yeah honestly, I expected more charisma from Takigawa? He’s supposedly the top geisha so I honestly expected to be really drawn to him etc, but I think he was pretty normal lol, the best thing about him was his looks, and even then, Asagiri is pretty beautiful, so yeah, beauty can’t carry you that high! Haha, oh well. He’s not bad, just not great🙃

July 22, 2018
My 20th birthday! Wow today was absolutely AMAZING!
So, lemme begin w/ the fact that I had no restrictions p much whatsoever (but still trying to be safe nonetheless)
I spent the night w/ Charles in his room (tryin to be sneaky when i had to go to the bathroom, i.e. going to 3rd girls floor, or sneakin at 5th floor)
We woke up past breakfast (bcs i could thereoretically get that any time!) I woke up around 9:33 and snuck down to get some Carbon elote and black beans and corn and came back to fall asleep a bit longer and drink some diet ginger ale
Then, around 10:30, i went up to my room to get into some clothes (+ some nuts and random pilfered food from other lounges! animal crakcers! hummus! indian food!)
It was rainy today, so I put on my black boots (faux leather, good for rain), tights (good for changing into/outof when shopping and keeps me p warm), big black skirt (room for bloating!!), grey sweatshirt (warm and comfy)~
I grabbed the Hanbok and went to Charles’ apartment (cursed be its name smh) Then we went and put it on and took nice pictures!!!)
After that, we lyfted to Ajoomah’s Kitchen!!! I got the seafood stew (which iwas told did not have mussels, but it did. hopefully i wont puke tonight.........), diet coke, and half kimchi half seafood pancake (hoonestly this was soooo good. so oily and soft and warm and ugh i could eat that sweet inner dough for days) and sidedishes (kimchi, seaweed, potatoes, cucumber, fishcakes, lil potatoes+carrots, beansprouts, sweet fried tofu) I had a lil rice too!
Then, we went to the Art Institute of Chicago to see the John Singer Sargent exhibit (meh, he’s cool but not cutting edge enough. charles loved it tho so~ and i enjoyed bein there w/ him! but i saw the Train Arriving at Gare St. L----- so that’s nice!) The next exhibit was on Danish cutlery and was also quite meh. Original Ikea i guess. We saw the Korean green pots next~ So calming~ But so few :/
Next, we went to Russian tea time! We got their house teea (v floral and warm). I got the Bourbon Bread Pudding with Caramel and Cinnamon (it was a bit dry and it was a bit too warm.) I like Charles’ desert a bit more. A Napoleon. It was creme filled and cool (nice in the warm room) but I didn’t really like the berry sauce so...c’est la vie
After that, we went shopping at DSW (where I bought a pair of Tiimberland knockoffs by Steve Madden that zip of the sides to replace the combat boots I stole from lizsal729), TJ Maxx (where i bought a cool pair of Levi’s!!!), and Burlington Coat Factory (where Charles bought me two striped shirts!)
Then, we returned to Hyde Park by lyft to go to Kikuya! I got tamagodon (with miso and salad!) It wasn’t ~as~ good as last time, but just barely. I wasn’t too hungry, but I wanted to eat it so bad and I ate all of the egg and lots of the rice. Charles had two sushi rolls and half my salad and a Perrier. I had a diet coke!
I came back to the dining hall and had more watermelon and pizza rind and some cottage cheese and lots of cantelope and a lil plum and diet coke and it was nice.
When I got back to the lounge, my kids “surprised” me with a big 20 balloon and threw balloons off the balcony and it was amazing!!! Then the one dude brought me a diet ginger ale liter and yesssss dude! I just chilled in the lounge ot show my appreciation (+ while I had energy to bond, I did!)
For study break, we had cake. I had some of the bottom of the cake and a bit of icing. The bottom of the cake was p good actually. I had some pizza crush too from some chick and two pieces of lucky charms.
And two of my kids got me a gift! $10 at Target, some chocolates, and a super cute journal!!! Plus they wrote me notes and some others got candles and napkins and honestly I’m so happy right now. I also just snuck down to binge on some more of the Carbon (beans and veggies and that darned Elote which is just so good)
Also, last midnigth (aka July 22 at the Awakening, I opened the Ramen bites. They were ~eh~ but Charles liked ‘em. I also got him mac’n’cheese at 1AM and watched house in his room while he ate. I love that boy.
When I got back to my room (present day), I opened up the weird Jewish peanut cheetos to put them in The Bag. I won’t open The Bag until Friday. I will eat 1 egg for lunch and sneak 1 Thing at Law School. For dinner, I will be respectful. Tomorrow, I will have 1 egg and a pear and 3 slices of watermelon for dinner. I will not touch the pasta. I will not touch the veggie burger. I will not touch the croutons.
So overall, what I’m saying is, Emily in the future, you’re gonna be sad but don’t worry food and love and friendship makes it better and it exists. Chew your gum and be as happy as you can. You’ll make it!

This is going to be a weird question but i'm broke! Can you give me minor review spoilers for that male courtesan game. I might play it once I havs money.
Um, I only played two guys on it. Iroha and Takao.Won't give much spoilers since that would give the whole stories away and then they wouldn't be worth buying.IrohaHe's a retired courtesan and serves as a manager running things at Kikuya (the shop all the playable courtesans work at).At first he's surprised when the MC chooses him because he assumes she already knew he wasn't up for sale like the others but he humors her anyways. This courtesan gig isn't that you pay for and bang the guy right away. You have to make a couple of visits until the courtesan chooses to sleep with you (these are expensive top courtesan guys).Well anyways, I really liked Iroha! He has this cool sensual mysterious vibe that had me 😍.He seems to be kinda distant and protective of MC because even though he says that he can't act like a regular courtesan with her (like eventually sleep with her. He doesn't even accept her money), he at the same time doesn't want the other guys messing with her because she's innocent and childish. He even refers to her as a child, lol.Eventually, it's discovered that Iroha isn't 100% human. This happens when he's feeling strong emotions like anger or lust and because of this he decides that he'll never father children with what he considers to be a personal defect. He starts to very coldly pushing MC away and even encourages her to give her virginity to another guy. The MC gets to even slap him, lmao.Don't worry, Iroha does stop being a jackass once he sees MC accepts that side of him though he's still a little off about possibly sleeping with her and fathering a child with his 'problem'.Long story short, Iroha pretty much has to make a decision on whether he keeps himself separated from MC or if he accepts the life of an ordinary man to truly be with her. He has to face his fear of possibly having a family to stay by her side. For his ending you'll have to play his route. 😉Bonus: he's pretty af.TakaoNot my usual type of guy but he had this big happy kid vibe that won me over.Literally he's like a happy kid, but as the story progresses you get to see that happiness of his is just an act. He's hiding how he really feels (he wants to be outside of Yoshiwara since all the courtesans are pretty much sold into that life and they can't leave. Also he has personal issues that makes him feel in debt, so he forces himself to work as a courtesan)I actually LOVED his route. He was like an eager puppy that wanted to drop his other clients whenever MC showed up. I didn't know if his eagerness was part of his courtesan act but he really knows how to make a girl feel wanted. He also has a bit of a temper and can be possessive. He was about to beat the tar out of Tokiwa (the blond green eyes courtesan) for trying to do some shit to MC while he wasn't around. His smut scenes are rather descriptive so if you're not into that, I suggest you don't play his route. The guy isn't shy saying how he's affecting MCs body 😂. He's pretty much like "Oooh, the tips of your breasts are hard. You're aroused 👅💚💕."Then he licked "other parts", lmfaoooo. I was like "Holyshit, this game freaking went there."But it was obvious he was concentrating on MCs pleasure 💞.Other things... There was some drama in the end that really made me think everything had gone to shit for him and MC but as it turned out everything came out fine. His ending was so sweet I was just 😭😭😭. My fluff limits couldn't handle that!If you want a guy that makes you feel precious and wanted, he's the one. He actually turned out really sweet.Poor guy got so attached to MC, he even got deeply depressed (drinking, being shitty to clients, losing his number one top courtesan spot) when she stopped seeing him due to 'reasons' I won't spoil. Just look at this big man puppy, jfc. Downsides of the app.Yes there's downsides. There's spelling mistakes and sometimes the sprites disappear during dialogue (it happened a lot during Iroha's route) as well as the men seeming to appear to be talking all the time (their lips move, they blink etc) which means that game is slightly glitchy. There's not that many backgrounds, probably because the courtesans are pretty much captive in Yoshiwara (a boy child is born and they're sold as courtesans due to male birth shortages in the island). There's even mentions of guards in the gates of Yoshiwara to keep the men from leaving. The prologue, that is free to read, has MC helping a woman and her male courtesan lover running away from there and it's later found out that a male courtesan running away with a client can be punished. (Fucked up, but that's part of the 'role reversal' aspect)So the backgrounds are limited to the shop entrance, parlor, bedroom etc., Takao's route did have more backgrounds than Iroha though.PS: the MC irritated me in Iroha's route cos she has this annoying thirsty yet naïve personality that just ugh. I'm picky about MCs, sorry 😞.

//THINGS TO NOTE.
Merle goes through most of SB without Fleurelle by her side. Aus’ra and Kikuya are likely there, but Fleurelle, at that point, would have either been heavily pregnant or had an infant son [who Merle spoils sweet].
So I’m still trying to figure out how Merle reacts to things. |D
