"Norinao" is real, or at least based on a "real person". It's just that I think his role and identity is completely changed here.
In history this person's name is actually Chigachi Noritada 千賀地則直. This is an interesting case because normally 直 in a name would be read as "nao", but in this case, all the sources I can find says that it's meant to be read as "Noritada".
He was possibly Hanzo Masanari's cousin.
The story of how this works is muddled with legends and folklore, but the best narrative that I could find was that at one point the Hattori family settled in a place called Chigachi in Iga. In that time they adopted the place name as their surname.
Through some chance, Masanari's father Yasunaga managed to gain employment with Ieyasu's family, and for this they reverted their name back to Hattori. As far as I could find, this happened during the time of Ieyasu's father or grandfather, which means it was back when their names were still Matsudaira. Masanari was not newly hired by Ieyasu, he was a generational vassal that was already there for many years.
Incidentally, Hattori Hanzo Yasunaga was Hanzo the First. While "Hattori Hanzo" usually makes people think of Masanari, he was actually Hanzo Junior/Hanzo the Second.
I think the trope of "there's a bunch of Hanzos everywhere in the Hattori clan" was popularised by manga/anime or dramas, but this was not the case in reality. Only Yasunaga's descendants have the name "Hanzo".
Yasunaga's brother Yasumoto, who remained in Iga, took over the leadership there in the Chigachi area (the extent of their domain/authority is unclear) and kept his name as Chigachi. Noritada is Yasumoto's son, and thus making him Masanari's cousin.
The reason why this is muddled is because some articles said that the Chigachi family is not related to the Hattori at all. The claim was that Yasumoto did have a brother named Yasunaga, but he isn't the same person as Hattori Yasunaga.
There are indeed many people with same names, and in the case of lords of smaller territories like this it's very easy to confuse one person for another.
Game spoiler of sorts:
Hanzo's father in the game looks very similar to him. Norinao has completely different-looking appearance, so it might mean that he isn't actually Masanari's brother. Unless perhaps it's something like Sakuya and Genya, where they're twins but looks very different.
This is what Yasunaga looks like:

a bit disappointed that marz & dys are not often discussed together. both having augments that is the lack of a negative emotion—making their personality prone to be stunted and needing to rely on others to help them reflect. both being failed by the adults at a young age—one (marz) was not held accountable for their treatment of the other (dys) by the adults, which made it significantly harder for them to reflect their bad actions until they held themself accountable as they grew up while the other was failed by the adults due to the lack of support they were given. one being more alright to being challenged and is generally more open-minded, while the other is more stubborn and closed-minded. marz's full name referring to human-made confection that can be used to create many kinds of sweet treats made for consumption while dys' full name refers to a psychological mood disorder. both of their names hint at their perspectives of humanity—marz values the material created by humans meant for consumption & how they bring people together while dys is disillusioned with the concept of humanity and what they offer while feeling kinship to what nature is and offers.
my brain is constantly gearing when i think how the two of them is able to contrast with each other, but especially parallel each other as well. of course its vaild and understandable that tangent & dys are more likely to be discussed together to comment how their contrast and parallels contribute to the themes and ideas of the story but marz & dys are *also* that as well. the fact that marz & dys are one-sided enemies brings so much layers to what, how they add to the story as well and what they represent. i wonder if marz and dys had similar parent situations, their fates could end up somewhat similar... too much stuff to think about

a note about the Beasts and Bromance event: Chev and Licht's story specifically takes place right after Bloodstained Rose Day, which is 10 years prior to the Act 1 prologue. although they're using the adult sprites for their dialogues, the actual ages of the princes in this story are:
Jin – 22 years old Chevalier – 20 years old Clavis – 19 years old Leon – 18 years old Yves – 15 years old Licht and Nokto – 14 years old
Edit: as @lucyw260 pointed out, Yves is currently 15 in this event, not 16. That was a typo on my part^^

According to a Bloomberg article,
Al-Bukhaiti said one message received by the Houthis had been an offer to seek a peaceful end the conflict in Yemen in exchange for stopping attacks in the Red Sea. He said the group rejected that idea.

Is “left behind” and idiopathic expression in the mew community rather than the more literal interpretation of abandonment then? Because, by all the reactions prior, it sounded like child abandonment was what “left behind” meant.
If it just meant Seymour was left to be raised by a relative so his dad could just party more than parent Seymour, in what sounds to be a sort of shared custody situation, why is being “left behind” such a big deal to the siblings then? Especially since they act like Seymour is the one to blame for some reason?
It sounds more like Pup was young and not ready to be a primary caretaker and decided to leave him in more experienced paws while still popping in from time to time to let him know he’s loved, rather than him abandoning Seymour due to him being unable to “Keep up” like the prior descriptions implied.
And, like, is “keep up” also just an expression for something?

King: Origin is their own lil basket case. He's not exactly the most... Down to earth mew.
Seymour: You make it sound so horrible. I got more fun! Plant made sure of that!
King: I know Sea, but it's not as dour as im making it out to be.
((PS: i think you mean Idiomatic not Idiopathic!))

The context in SLBP is different, but the whole plot is hilarious when compared to the history.
The Oda in real life knows damn well who Kobayakawa Takakage is. He was the contact person from the Mouri side when the Oda and the Mouri were still friends. Even if maybe it was never made known to the Oda that Takakage is one of Motonari's sons, the Oda side still knows he's someone representing the Mouri clan.
If somehow the Oda side doesn't know Takakage's full name due to the courtesies of the time period (the polite way to address someone by using their surnames or titles or aliases), they should still know that "Kobayakawa" is associated with Mouri.
Takakage and Hideyoshi frequently exchange letters. In fact, transcripts (and/or the actual artefacts) of Hideyoshi's letters addressed to Takakage exist, and you can read them in the Japanese national archives. The responses from Takakage sadly has been lost.
Also, maybe this is a new writer who were never briefed about the other routes, because MC being amazed at this is very strange:
Tumblr media
How many times have we seen Hideyoshi just casually clowning around in front of and to Nobunaga's face and nobody cares? Toshiie and old man Shibata were also kind of casual with Nobunaga, even if they won't shove him around like Kageharu does with Takakage.

[From Ch.7 of Ellis’s Main Route]
This scene with Alfons made me realize that he and Ellis are quite similar. The whole circus setup Alfons is speaking of here is supposed to remind you of Ellis and how his kindness is ultimately a trap, and yet it’s an analogy that can also be easily applied to Alfons. How many times has Alfons provided someone with temporary bliss, only for them to grow frighteningly dependent on it? Likewise, Kate gets a bad feeling early on in Ellis’s route that there must be a downside to fully accepting Ellis’s kindness and tries to avoid growing too dependent herself. If something seems too good to be true, it usually is.
Alfons and Ellis have similar personalities in general. Not only do they center their lives around pleasing other people, they also deeply struggle to understand themselves outside of that role. They’re both seriously lacking in a sense of identity, and attach themselves hard to other people to make up for that (Elbert in Alfons’ case, Jude for Ellis).
I would definitely love to see these two interact more in the future! What does a people-pleaser do when forced to encounter someone who only wants to please them? I feel like Cybird has so many underutilized pairings, ugh 💜

I won't let him dissapear
I like to reflect a bit on Elbert's little obsession with Alfons. I'm not judging, I'm the same. But… it's not that easy to notice, so I've combined the screenshots.
At the end of the main part of Alfons' route Elbert declared with a bit creepy smile.
Tumblr media
And a little more… in a dramatic mad love ending…
Tumblr media Tumblr media
There was a funny scene on their past records…
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
NO, not that damn cat!
Tumblr media
Honey, you don't want to die so desperately…
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
If, as usual, he have an overly dramatic expression, then it was a joke. But it seems he's generally happy that these two don't want him dead.
So for Alfons, this game is an excuse why he stays with Elbert, despite his firm belief that he shouldn't do it. For Elbert… I still don't get it. But at the story from his POV (I don't have it, I found a video on Youtube).
Tumblr media Tumblr media
That's why he won't let him go, because Alfons wants to disappear for good. And Elbert doesn't want that. But… what if Alfons changes his mind and stops thinking about others?.. Even then, would Elbert be able to let him go? He's not sure himself. It's an obsession…
Maybe there's greed in him. Like, "he belongs to me, and I won't let him leave me." Or… he's just afraid to be alone again…

concept with jade leech
there is no dire-beast inside the mirror chamber, and there are no ghosts inhabiting ramshackle. it is simply: you, alone in a rundown building, after the headmaster leaves.
you have been pinching yourself through the day. little crescent marks litter your wrist.
for the past six or so hours, you have been trying really hard to wake up from this dream. nothing is working. desolate, you take to wandering the house.
you know your imagination is strong but an entire college, idiosyncratic characters, and an entire furnished building is a bit complex. still, you card through the squabble, hoping to unearth some mistake in physics that will tell you that this is a dream. that search ends abruptly when you find a loose floorboard and the fragile wood underneath you gives out like a snapped cracker.
you land hard.
ten feet down in the basement, lying on your back.
blinking away dust, your eyes land upon the piece of wood speared cleanly through your abdomen.
the pain tells you this is too much to be a dream.
it is a full two hours you lie there immobile. you try rolling on your side, hoping to at least stand up, but each motion is anguish in an ineffable amount. you wrap your hands around the red wood and try to pull; it leads to your eyeballs rolling so far back you see new colors. skin shining with generous sweat and dipping in and out of consciousness, you lie there and bid limited time until someone from this new world comes to find you. the headmaster will eventually come back, right?
you think about a multitude of things.
you think about how if your corpse withers here, the puss running out your orifices will look like cream cheese.
you think about how the glittering wands those students held might work, is it like harry potter or a unique universe.
you think about how you still had to go to work tomorrow in your own original universe, attend classes, hope plans with friends don’t fall through so you laugh carefree without lungfuls of blood.
your last slip from consciousness to eternal unconsciousness, you think about home. the bed you slept in, the books read and films watched, the snack wrappers on the sheets, what a comforting waste.
you drift off, expecting to be jolted awake again by your own feverish mind, and die, bleeding out on ramshackle’s basement floor.
it takes azul awhile to gain ramshackle’s dorm.
the one new student he saw during the opening ceremony apparently stayed there one night and fled the next morning. as the headmaster’s report goes, crowley found no one living there when he went to check the following day. however, the usage of ramshackle by that magicless student opened up a gate of opportunity and azul did not let it go to waste.
the negotiations took awhile and the proper refurbishment will have to be done. but just before winter exams, azul has managed to secure himself a second location for mostro lounge.
first, damages have to be assessed.
the building is disgusting, rundown, and simply inhabitable. busy with the 250 students he has under contract, azul assigns jade to spend a november afternoon there and make note of what they need to start repairing first.
azul really hopes the plumbing is salvageable. the cost would be through the roof if otherwise.
so jade, hand over his heart, promises to survey ramshackle the next day and outline a list of high priority repairs to stuff they can skimp upon in the budget.
jade’s excited. the mountains he treks are northwest and ramshackle is northeast; this will provide him a new opportunity to see what kind of mushroom may lie on that side of the island. …oh, and he supposes he will also assist azul in his endeavor as well.
the next day, he spends half of the allotted time foraging outside of ramshackle before he actually walks into the building. i should make this quick and efficient. i only have thirty minutes left. notepad in hand, he starts to investigate the wreckage.
uninhabited and ugly. those are the two words that rise to jade’s mind first. truly, it is a lovely space and it would be a disgrace to see it painted in shades of lilac and oceanic decor. but, it will be entertaining nonetheless to see azul’s business expand.
yet, as he’s walking down the halls, jade cannot help but think he is hearing a second pair of footsteps just behind him.
yes, ramshackle is ugly but it does not seem to be as uninhabited as he thought. how intriguing.
so, sadistic grin blooming, jade decides to play a game. he will ignore this secondary person and continue on, waiting anxiously to see what will happen. he marks down his observations, all while feeling a pair of eyes upon his neck. lighting on the first floor needs fixing. the water runs orange in the upstairs sink. nothing entirely formidable has happen yet, but he hopes it will.
jade cannot wait to see if this ghost can turn his skin inside out, or perhaps drop a floorboard on top of his head, the possibilities are endless. it all has jade’s toes squirming in his dress shoes in anticipation.
however, his thirty minutes are up before he can descend the basement stairs and nothing has happened yet.
which is disappointing.
he’ll be back again tomorrow so there is always a chance for something then.
however, he had hoped for something to happen now.
just as jade is walking out the door, list and bag of mushrooms in hand, something ice cold tickles the hairs on his neck. frigid like home. he barely gets a chance to dwell on it before five frozen fingers wrap themselves around his throat and shove him down the porch steps.
the door to ramshackle slams shut.
sprawled on the ground, jade reaches his hand up to the idents on the column of skin, the previous touch thawing out.
he cannot help the deep blush that comes up to his face.
with a deep breath, his own gloves fingers still hovering over the lost embrace, jade stands up and pats himself down. he looks upon the closed door with a hunger in his eyes.
yes, tomorrow he will be back.
and he hopes this ghost will act up again because they have so much more allure to jade than a second mostro lounge.

some of you might be unhappy to hear this but an interview mentioning that Eddie would want to hang out with his bestie of 7 years and the guy he hung out with at least 3 times a week and who he introduced to his son within weeks of knowing him, when said son no longer lives with (or speaks to) him, especially during a time he isn't dating 2 women simultaneously, being alone bar his coworkers and friends who are clearly very busy with other things...
all of that has nothing to do with one ship or another and maybe for once we could just acknowledge that he is his own character, more than ever before probably and just not act like there is something weird about that or as if it Must Have romantic intentions one way or another
the man is lonely you all, ofc he's gonna lean on the people he's still got left, it's the least surprising thing ever

I haven't even started Leah's romance route yet but I've already got their entire relationship and dynamic mapped out in my head.
Rambling into the void, but my female farmer OC, Mili, is basically a female himbo. I'd like to think that she doesn't really get all the passive aggressive jabs Leah makes to the farmer in the beginning of the game, and it makes Leah feel kinda bad abt it later on. As they grow more familiar with each other, I'd believe Mili's tenacious attitude eventually wears down Leah's defensive walls and she starts to grow fond of Mili and her lil' antics (much to Leah's own horror).
And since Mili is kinda airheaded but kind, she's easy to take advantage of, even if others don't exactly have any ill intentions. This would start to annoy Leah as she sees Mili running around helping everyone and their dog around town, and she starts to get kinda overprotective of Mili, and chastises her for never being able to say no to anyone (both farmer siblings are like this tbh). I kinda headcanon that Leah hates Scott bc 1. She's lowkey jealous that Mili and Scott hang out a lot in the mines (but she can't bring herself to go to there herself, its gross and dirty and also there's no reception) but mainly bc 2. She thinks Scott is absolutely full of shit with his museum that exists purely due to all the donations Mili makes to it, but he essentially takes all the credit for. Mili disagrees, but regardless, Leah and Scott don't get along.
After they start dating, Leah becomes an overprotective but proud gf who loves showing Mili off to her followers. The only thing is that she despairs over Mili's lack of fashion sense, esp since Mili's older sibling, Lu-Ran, is perfectly well-dressed themselves. So it becomes her hobby to dress Mili up in cute but practical clothes.
On Mili's end, she's just a simple girl with simple thoughts. Leah is a drop-dead gorgeous gf with a heart of gold (according to Mili, disagreed with by many others). She doesn't really get all the influencer stuff but she's supportive and likes to chat with Leah's followers on livestreams. She doesn't know that Leah's followers have basically formed a Mili Fan Club/Protection Squad.
I also like to think that Leah is a lifestyle influencer and environmental advocate. She donates the money made during livestreams and sponsorships towards environmental research and causes. My headcanon is that she's one of Ling's main sponsor (anonymous of course) for her coral research.
Overall, I'm a big fan of "opposites attract" tropes, so I am obsessed with my OC Mili and seeing how the relationship dynamic with Leah would work out. Mili would help Leah become more emotionally vulnerable and be less rigid, while Leah would be a solid rock in Mili's chaotic life who helps keep her grounded and remind her to take care of herself and not just others. Leah is a bit antisocial though, despite being an influencer, so being together with the social butterfly that Mili is would be quite interesting. With Mili as the bridge, Leah would eventually open up to other villagers too and become friends with Mili's friends too (other than Scott of course). From the get-go, Leah would get along very well with Mili's older sibling (my other farmer OC), Lu-Ran, as they're very down-to-earth, quiet and acceptably-dressed (to Leah's standards).
Anyways, if you actually read my word vomit, thank you for entertaining my 2am brain ramblings.
