IkeVil Act 2 Prologue Thoughts & Theories

This will contain spoilers, and some 18+ remarks at the end, so MDNI. Please see under the cut. As usual, these are just my thoughts and feelings.This is a word salad. And not that this is important or anything, but I was totally listening to Tchaikovsky's Swan Lake while writing this.

My first thought is: That's it?! With the Act 1 prologue being as long as it is, and even with other IkeSeries games like Pri, I felt it was too short. I was expecting and wanting more. Perhaps, Cybird will release more later, but I doubt it. Seems that they are keeping Vogel underwraps as much as they can. Less is more, maybe that's what they were thinking?

Next: The spotlight is on Vogel (as it should be), since they're apparently debuting with Roger's route. We're excited to meet them, still I didn't like that other than Victor and Harry (with his two lines of actual dialogue), no other Crown members had any lines. Their sprites just pop up (sans William because he's away per Victor), to show that they were present. Where is that amazing stare-off that went down in Roger's PV?

Tell me this wasn't it! Hopefully, we get more of their first meeting within the first chapter of each of their main stories. Which leads me to......

When Act 2 Takes Place: It takes place a week after Kate's tenure of being the Fairytale Keeper begins, and honestly, I LOVE that. We need a change of pace. Now, don’t get me twisted, there's nothing wrong with seeing her start her journey from the very beginning, but consider:

Act 2 is supposed to delve deeper into the topic of the Curse itself from what I understand. If that's the case, we need to move things along. It would make storytelling easier (I feel), if Kate has already spent a week with the villains and isn't completely ignorant about curses.

Also, we're moving further along in the routes, which tend to become progressively darker with each route passing (my opinion), not starting from the day after she arrives at the Castle will allow the writers to delve deeper into things, and give us more chapters for - hopefully - more lore.

I mean when Roger's route finally releases, I'd expect maybe some flashbacks in chapter one of the night after Kate bumps into them on their mission, and then she agrees to be his assistant. I don't personally want an entire chapter or three of that, and I would love to see Kate already with a week's worth of experience of working with Jude & Ellis (when Jude's route releases). I want her to be someone who is already capable, not stumbling around with (How do I prove myself?), we already know how she needs to do this, as she's demonstrated in their events. Let's skip that and get to the good stuff. Now about the new meat on the market.....

Darius: Well, we all know that we can't trust him, and he's super interested in William for some reason. I'd love to see that meeting happen. His disappointed face made me chuckle when he was told that William was away, and you can clearly tell that he isn't a fan of Victor. WHY?? Is it the scones? Is it because Victor keeps his precious Cursed babies safe from those who may try to destroy his family? Can't wait for the explanation, because as Victor has said in the past, he doesn't want his time with Crown to end, and Darius seems like the one who is going to end it. I know Darius hasn't done anything yet, but I feel like I need to say this: Don't be mean to Vivi!

He seems to be focused on recruiting other cursed members into his "family", and his vision of the cursed and non-cursed joing hands together and work alongside each other (so he says).

He seems to be the big-bad (Gilbert tragic backstory vibes from this one?), I could be wrong, but that's what my gut tells me. I mean they all have one, but I feel like his is going to be twisted. A type that I am weak for.....so I am trying not to look at him at all.

Anyways....He's certainly angelic looking, and because he's wearing such an obviously painted smile, I would like to see him irked (not that I hate his character or anything), I just think it'd be funny as hell to see a blood vessel pop up on his forehead.

Nica: Right, Nica is gorgeous and he is the one I look forward to the most out of the three. His sprite has teeth when it's a full smile (congrats, my man), and a part from him making a comment that he's happy that Kate is present because he doesn't want to be stuck with a bunch of guys, he's very sharp.

He discerned by himself the real reason why she was at the castle. Also, he seems to love money and power....my other weaknesses are men who enjoy those things (stares at Jude & Silvio).....he doesn't seem to have a tyrant attitude, but I look forward to learning more about him.

Also, I have a theory I believe he may be involved with Roger's betrayal of Ellis' cursed predecessor. In Roger's main route preview:

Roger: Oh, me and…..this person……We aren’t friends. This person and I are strangers.

Mysterious Youth: ….Thank you. - “That’s enough”. (screen shakes)

Now, this could be Ring, but I think it's Nica also because of the relationship chart. I re-read the relationship chart. .

So, it'll be interesting to see how this plays out and how off I am. On to our darling......

Ring: Beloved, sweet, cold, blunt and Disney Princess Ring. He is the next villain I look forward to the most. I mean, a shared cursed ability with your twin? Moody emo vibes? Adorably quiet and strong? Please, I love him and want to cuddle him. Not to mention that skin-tight, black turtle neck....yummy. A part from this, Ring doesn't seem to like making speculations based on limited information, and I appreciate that about him. I think it's also notable that is very upfront with everyone at Crown, that if they try to harm Vogel, he won't sit quietly. Love a man of action. My question is: Why is he Darius' puppet, but not Nica? Ok, last but not least......

Sprite Designs: As usual, Nana-sensei has incorporated symbolism of their fairytale group into their clothing with lots of sharp edges. Personally, I love her art style over all, I think it's beautiful. Of note, Darius has a feather as his belt buckle and I quite like that. His brooch on his neck is the recognizable symbol of Vogel (seems like a swan's head with feathers to me), and the brooch on his floofy coat looks like the face of a swan staring at me. *Ahem* And I think his little neck window could be bigger....just saying.

Nica & Ring both have identical tassels, although they are different colors. One of their tassels likewise feature the symbol of Vogel, but the other looks like cross-hatch marks(?) Feathers(?). They apparently share the same curse, perhaps it represents their shared cursed since they are connected as twins??

They also share swan-faced holster clasps. The one on Nica holds his gun holster, and Ring's holds a book holster (?).....it looks like a book holster. Is it a book about flowers? I mean, it could be a snack pouch, but really it looks like a book holster to me. Just saying.....

Last, but not least, Nica's rings. My first thought: That's hot as hell. Next thought: Shit it's going to hurt like hell when he fingers Kate. This entire time I've been worried over William's and Jude's long ass fingernails cutting Kate up when they enter her, but this this amount of rings (assuming he doesn't remove them), that's going to scrape her so much inside. They're like a toture device.....wait.....maybe he's a sadist too? Oohh, yay if he is! Either way, he is a fan a jewelry.

Well, that's it. There's a ton more that I could write about, but I'm sleepy and I'm rambling.

All of a sudden, all attention was focused on me. 

(...Is it just me, or does it feel like I'm being glared at?)

Jude: “So what if she is, huh? That any of your business?”

Jack: “Oh, I don't mean anything by it! I'm sorry for staring!”

Jude: “...All right, enough. Get back to work.”

Jack gave an apologetic smile and then ran away. 

(What should I do? I suddenly feel really uncomfortable.)

I shrank down between the boxes to fade out of sight, but then I heard Jude laugh and looked over. 

Jude: “That's right. Keep gettin’ smaller.”

Jude: “There are a lotta people who'd kill ya just for bein’ my woman.”

Kate: “You mean, I might get attacked again like before?”

The feeling of the man's hand gripping my leg came back to me, making a surge of anxiety wash over me.

Jude: “...Ya scared?”

Kate: “Of course I'm–”

(Ah, does this fall under the category of a complaint?)

Instead I bit my lip and Jude laughed, then took a step toward me. 

Kate: “...Jude.”

Jude: “Natural to be scared, ain't it? ‘Specially for a princess like ya who's never had to struggle.”

Jude: “There's no way you'll get to scramble home unscathed after seein’ all that.”

As he came closer I took a step backwards, only to find myself pressed against the cargo with no way out.

Jude: “See? Can't run away.”

Long fingers slipped around my neck, tightening their grip as if to slow down the flow of blood to my brain. 

It wasn't so painful that I couldn't breathe, but the feeling of my throat being constricted definitely made the blood drain from my face. 

Kate: “N…!”

(I can't say no or stop. I can't complain at all. If I fail here…)

I was in a situation where I couldn't resist. Fear and a strange heat began to close in on me. 

Jude: “All I gotta do is squeeze ‘n you'll never go back to the castle again.”

Jude: “Ya want me to do that?”

His amethyst eyes looked down at me with amused expectation, his hand hot against my skin. 

(Of course not!)

Instead of complaining, I just glared at him. 

Jude: “Heh. I like that face. You're pretty cute, aintcha.”

Jude: “Poor thing. Ya wanna go home, but ya can't say it. And if ya break your promise, you're in for a punishment.”

Jude saw through my conflict and laughed at me. 

(“You shouldn't make promises so easily.” That's what he's trying to get me to understand.)

(Even though he's the one who asked me to!)

Anger bubbled up inside of me and I squeezed out the voice from my constricted throat.

Kate: “I-I'm not complaining…!”

Kate: “I'm not complaining because I'm afraid of your retaliation!”

Kate: “I just don't want to give up on gaining your trust… so that you'll keep your promise to release me.”

Jude: “......”

Kate: “That's why I'll keep my promise to you.”

Jude: “...Tch.”

When he let go of my neck, the blood rushed to my head and with it came a wave of dizziness. 

I gasped, filling my lungs with air as I grabbed at one of the cargo boxes to keep myself from staggering. 

However, Jude grabbed my arm and pulled me upright against him. 

Jude: “Ya really think my woman’d collapse from a lil thing like that? Nah, she'd be into it. So pull it together.”

(This guy is seriously the worst!)

Jude: “I'm ‘bout to have a meeting, so go kill yourself some time over there.”

Jude let go of me and then strode off somewhere. 

I ended up having to wait several hours. 

(I want to go home…)

Jude still wasn't back, and I was left shivering in the cold night breeze. 

Jack: “Kate, was it?”

Kate: “You… Your name is Jack, right?”

Jack: “Yes! Jude asked me to come get you.”

(I can't believe he left me out here for so long and then had someone else come get me. The nerve!)

I forced a smile, feeling my mouth twitch in resistance. 

Kate: “Okay. I'm coming.”

(Is this some company's warehouse?)

I looked around to the place Jack had taken me. 

I saw an unfamiliar man in black clothes standing there with bodyguards surrounding him. 

Man in Bowler Hat: “You Jazza’s woman?”

Kate: “...And who are you?”

I instinctively took a step backwards, but Jack immediately grabbed me and pinned my arms behind my back. 

(I thought he worked for Jude!)

Kate: “Did you betray Jude?!”

Jack: “It's disgusting to even call it betrayal. I just signed a contract for money.”

Jack: “It's only natural to switch sides if there's a job that pays better, right?”

Jack handed me over to the man in the bowler hat. 

Man in Bowler Hat: “I had him bring you here because I thought you'd be a valuable hostage for us.”

Man in Bowler Hat: “It's unusual for that man to bring a woman with him.”

Kate: “That man… Are you talking about Jude?”

Man in Bowler Hat: “Yeah. Just the other day, I heard a guy tried to send a woman to seduce him, and Jazza seriously messed him up instead.”

Man in Bowler Hat: “Guess he really cares about the ladies, huh?”

Kate: “I think you're talking about the wrong person.”

Man in Bowler Hat: “Hahaha! Well, I'll be in trouble if my informants are wrong!”

Man in Bowler Hat: “That bastard’s discovered some bad info about us.”

Man in Bowler Hat: “But now he's gotta negotiate with me in exchange for sending you back home to him safely.”

Kate: “And what if he refuses?”

Man in Bowler Hat: “Then I guess you're just gonna have to die.”

The cruel declaration sent a chill down my spine. 

(I don't think Jude will come here to negotiate for me.)

(So I'll have to escape on my own somehow.)

Kate: “I was just following him around for work today.”

Jack: “Yeah, I saw you flirting at the dock.”

Kate: “Is that what it looked like to you? He was choking me!”

Jack: “Yeah, well, I thought that's what you guys were into.”

Kate: “Absolutely not! Honestly, I have nothing to do with that man!”

Jude: “Pretty cruel thing to say ‘bout your lover, ain't it? I'm hurt.”

Just then, I heard the sound of something heavy falling down. 

I turned around to see Jude, stepping over an unconscious guard.

Jude: “Real nice place ya got here.”

Resa's very personal list of upcoming ikevil events to look out for (mostly ellis-centered)

This is just a very personal list for myself because I tend to forget stuff. I put everything under the cut in case someone doesn't want to be spoiled by the content from upcoming events.

I've added all events with Ellis content except for reruns (there's only the luxury cruise rerun one because I had no way of obtaining the ellis story back then).

If you're completely f2p and are in doubt which events to prioritize, I'd say go for collection events because as of now, not a single collection event has had a rerun in jp version.

If you are wondering how I decided where to put high effort, it's generally either a. only way to obtain stuff OR b. suggesstive/spicy content. I'm simple-minded, okay? Especially ranking stuff is hard to obtain if your fav is popular and Ellis IS popular in JP version, so I'm assuming the same for EN. Alfons' release event will give a first hint how the current suitor rankings are like as it's kinda a mini-election.

DISCLAIMER: This list no indication that the events will run in the same order as in JP.

italics+bold+blue: high effort, no slacking off, battling as often as possible, currently no other way of obtaining the rewards

Ikemen Villains- William Rex Route Part 2 Summary

‼️I am using a screen translator app to play, so absolutely no guarantees that this is actually what happened. Also I'm doing this for fun and for myself to look back on when I inevitably forget things, so it isn't very fancy‼️

This summary is about 1.1k words!

Part 1 Summary

William comments on how horrible it must be for Kate to have him, the person she is most wary of, as her observation target. She tries to deny it, but he simply tells her not to and that he isn’t offended by it. She asks where they’ll be going today and wonders about the terrors she might witness. He hasn’t decided yet, and that he’s sorry to not live up to her expectations, but he isn’t going around killing people night and day. He also asks Kate to drop the honorifics and just call him William, which he has asked her to do a couple times now.

He tells her he’s thinking about going into the city to gather information but he gets cut off when Liam suddenly bids them an enthusiastic good morning. Kate bids Liam a good morning in return but is confused, as she sees only Roger standing there, and asks Roger if he is a good mimic. Roger scolds Liam for his prank reflecting on him and Liam suddenly appears out of thin air. He reveals that his ability is invisibility. 

William notices that Liam is in a good mood and asks if he’s been doing ‘fun experiments’ with Roger. He explains to Kate that Roger is cursed by the ‘Traitor Hunter’ and has been conducting research. Roger asks her if she would like to cooperate in his experiments as well, and the thought scares her, but she says she will do it if it is within her duties as Fairytale Master. Roger bursts into laughter at her nervousness, and reveals that he was joking. 

Liam ends up explaining Crown’s curses to Kate, which she takes notes on, as they and William walk through the castle. “El-sama” (Elbert) is cursed by the ‘Queen of Greed’, and he is looking for the most beautiful thing in the world, which explains the pile of things built up in the castle hall, waiting to be transported to his room. He explains that the Queen from Snow White seems to be inspired by this curse, and “Al” (Alphonse) has the ‘Magic Mirror’ curse.

Jude and Ellis run into them as they exit the castle, Jude complaining about the things in the hall, and Ellis just saying good morning. Liam explains that their curses inspired parts of Sleeping Beauty, Jude’s curse being ‘13th Wizard’ (otherwise known as the 13th fairy, or Maleficent) and Ellis’s being the ‘Thorn’.

Liam also explains a bit about William’s curse, ‘The Self-Righteous King’, which, according to Roger’s research, the Queen of Hearts from Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland was based off of. He also explains that it is because of “Will’s incident,” that Crown was formed. William is pleased that he remembers that. Of course, the mentioning of an incident surrounding William sparks Kate’s curiosity.

Liam talks about his rehearsal that afternoon at William’s questioning, and Kate thinks about how since she won’t be able to receive this month’s salary, she definitely won’t be able to see a play. She’s sad that she can’t go like she always does. William then announces that he’s decided where they’re going today, and that is to see a play.

While they go to the theater, Kate mentions to William that since they’re just showing up on the day of the performance there won’t be any tickets left. He tells her they’ll be fine, and they are, because when they get there the workers recognize him and the manager comes to speak to him. He gets them tickets in the front, and explains to Kate that as one of the supporters of the theater, he has some flexibility. 

As soon as they enter the theater itself to go to their seats, Kate notices the stares and whispers of those around them. She’s already gathered that William is a regular there and wonders if the stares are because he isn’t headed toward his usual seat, or perhaps because he’s with a woman? He notices her thoughts and tells her he’s used to the stares, and that he’s tried returning them before to see what happens. Most look away or smile, but a few have raised the middle finger at him, mainly men. Kate laughs at this and feels for the first time that her and William are living in the same world. He is glad that she has finally shown him a smile.

After the play the two are walking in the streets, and Kate talks about the part of the play where a character was stabbed, and the actor was so good that she almost thought he really had been. William says that maybe he had been stabbed before as a way of studying for the role. Since anesthesia and suturing techniques are advanced now, it’s possible; and he was dragging his left leg a bit, which could be because of numbness due to nerve compression from the retractor, a common after effect of suture surgery. Kate takes this suggestion very seriously, thinking that actor must have true dedication to his work. William laughs at her expression and says not to take his speculation too seriously, which she seems to do too often because he is someone she is wary of.

He’s noticed that she tries to suppress her own feelings out of habit of taking others’ feelings into account. He recalls various feelings she’s had and not voiced that he has seen from her: It scares her to work with William, she doesn’t like human experiments, she wanted to see a play, she wanted to sit in the front row, she doesn’t like being teased. It’s what she’s really feeling, how can she hide it? He says that he wants her to say what she really thinks, and doesn’t mind if she says bad things about him. She responds that she doesn��t know him well enough to do so, and he asks if she would like to know more. She thinks that even if she doesn’t want to know, she needs to in order to return to her normal life. So yes, for the sake of her mission.

She thanks William for taking her to the play instead of whatever he had originally planned and he tells her not to worry about it, he was going to go to town anyways. But where shall they go next, he asks? Kate thinks that the play was enough, it’s late, and a look at Big Ben confirms that it is 9pm. William tells her that for the next month she’s not going to have the same relaxed life she’s used to. Oh, he’s thought of a place to take her! It’s a fun place, he’s sure she’ll like it. 

Kate is apprehensive about going to a place an assassin would call fun, but today he had seen her feelings and what she wanted and gave it to her. She doesn’t know whether it was his intention to win over her acceptance of this invitation, or it was his true kindness; she feels like the answer would help her to understand who he is a bit more.

Ikevil Event - Wrapped in Wicked Romance pt.1

My lips were warm and my heart was pounding.

Kate: “...I wouldn’t EVER be your girlfriend again!”

Jude: “Good, ‘cause I ain’t asking ya.”

There was no way I could get excited by someone who sneered at me so cruelly.

It was absolutely impossible.

The night we’d met, I discovered his secret and became Fairytale Keeper, a one-month bargain to keep me alive.

Early in this new role, Victor–the queen’s personal aide–offered me a proposal.

Victor: “Your job as Fairytale Keeper is to keep records of their deeds. In addition, you must deepen your understanding of them.”

Victor: “And so, your first job is this, Miss Kate.”

Victor: “I want you to choose one member of Crown to spend the day with as a couple.”

Kate: “I think that’s easier said than done…��

I hesitated at his suggestion, but Victor just smiled at me cheerfully.

Victor: “Can’t decide, can you? I understand, they’re all so charming! Well then, I’ll decide it for you with darts!”

(Darts?! Exactly what kind of assignment is this??)

After some quick preparations that seemed almost like magic, Victor enthusiastically threw the dart at the target.

Victor: “And the lucky man is… Ahh, I’m so sorry, little robin.”

Kate: “What? What do you mean, sorry?”

Victor: “There might be… a little trouble with this one.”

-time skip-

Victor: “Well, that’s what happened, Jude!”

(Why did I have to get paired up with HIM?!)

I visited the parlor where Jude, Ellis, and Roger were spending their morning.

Once Victor explained the situation, Jude looked up from his newspaper with a sour scowl on his face.

Jude: “Yeah, I ain’t doin’ that.”

Jude: “Why the hell should any of us hafta pretend to be her boyfriend in the first place? What's wrong with ya?”

Victor: “Won't you please reconsider? I'll throw in some extra investments next month!”

Jude: “...Tch.”

Jude glared at me and then gave me a cold, mocking smile. 

Jude: “Once we leave the castle, I better not hear a single complaint outta ya like ‘No!’ or ‘I wanna go home!’”

Jude: “If ya can promise that, then I'll letcha tag along.”

(At this point, I just have to go through with it.)

(I have to gain their trust as Fairytale Keeper so I can leave this place in a month.)

(And go back to my normal life.)

Kate: “Yes, I promise!”

Jude: “Hah…”

For some reason, he gave an exasperated sigh in response to my enthusiastic reply. 

Roger: “Uh-oh. You really shouldn't make promises with Jude, lil lady.”

Kate: “Huh? Why not?”

Roger: “This guy always keeps his promises. But in return, he always demands the same from others.”

Roger: “And severe punishment awaits those who break their promises to him.”

Kate: “...How severe?”

I glanced nervously over at Jude, who seemed to be enjoying this, a haughty smirk on his face. 

Jude: “Don't go makin’ promises so easily, princess. You're gonna learn that lesson by the end of the day.”

A short time later…

(I want to go home!!)

I already regretted making that promise. 

Dirty Man: “Jude Jazza! I won't let you get away with this!”

Jude: “Ya never listen, do ya? This ain't nothin’ but your own fault.”

Jude said he and Ellis were going to work, so we went to town together. 

But not even a few minutes later, a man with a knife jumped out at Jude from an alleyway. 

Dirty Man: “You stole everything! The mansion and the property!”

Dirty Man: “All the money I've earned with my blood, sweat, and tears has been taken away to pay off that debt!”

Dirty Man: “Even my family abandoned me and it's all your fault!”

Jude: “Ellis.”

Ellis: “Mm.”

In the blink of an eye, Ellis jumped out and snatched the knife from the man, pushed him to the ground, and restrained him. 

(Whoa! That was fast!)

It was definitely not his first time doing that. 

Jude: “You're the one who broke the contract. If ya wanna starve to death payin’ for a lawsuit ya got no chance of winnin’, go right on ahead.”

Jude’s voice was filled with hostility as he walked past the man. 

Dirty Man: “Uggh… Argh…”

Ellis: “Sorry.”

Seeing the man hang his head in frustration, Ellis let him go and then followed Jude.

(What should I do?)

I didn't know what kind of promise he made to Jude or why he broke it. 

(But I can't just leave him here like this.)

I took out a handkerchief and handed it to the man who was covered in mud.

Kate: “Here… Please take this.”

Dirty Man: “Wh-why should I be pitied by a little girl like you?!”

Kate: “Ahh!”

Without warning, the man grabbed my leg.

Kate: “L-let go of me!”

Dirty Man: “Shut up! Don't talk back to me!”

I tried to jerk myself out of his bruising grip, but–

Dirty Man: “Arghh!”

(Huh?)

A beautifully polished shoe shoved right into the man's face. 

Jude: “You're touchin’ people's things without permission, aintcha?”

(Huh?)

I turned around and saw that Jude had his foot smashed into the man's face. 

He was looking down at him with disgust. 

Dirty Man: “Nngh…”

Jude: “Heh. Yeah, I like that face. How pitiful ya look.”

Jude mocked the man who bled from his nose, then turned on his heel.

(Ah… I-I have to go!)

The man didn't seem to have the energy to attack me anymore, nursing his doubtlessly broken nose. 

I gently placed my handkerchief next to him and then ran off. 

(Regardless of how he did it, Jude still protected me and I should thank him.)

Kate: “Jude… Thank you.”

Jude: “See? This’s why you're an ignorant lil princess.”

Kate: “...Huh?”

Jude: “Didn't do it for ya, did I?”

Jude: “Anyone else lookin’ at it from the outside will think you're my girl.”

Jude: “So if I let him get away with that, people’d think I'd gone soft.”

Kate: “Oh… okay, then.”

(That still doesn't change the fact that he helped me.)

(It was violent, but… that answer makes sense.)

Kate: “So why did he do all that?”

Jude: “Huh? He made promises he couldn't keep ‘n had to pay for ‘em.”

Jude: “Pretty pathetic, yeah?”

(The way the man acted before made it look like he wanted to kill Jude, but he's surprisingly calm.)

(In fact, it's almost like he's enjoying it. Like it's some kind of entertainment.)

Jude Jazza. His curse is the Thirteenth Fairy. 

He's ruthless and arrogant, and has a strong desire for revenge. 

I remembered the description about Jude in the materials Victor gave me. Yeah, they were accurate. 

Jude: “And ya should watch your mouth so ya don't end up like him.”

Kate: “What?”

Jude: “Don't tell me ya weren't thinkin’ ‘bout how ya wanna go home, hm?”

Kate: “...I might've thought about it, but I didn't say it. So I'm clean.”

Jude: “That's a shame. ‘Specially after I went to all that trouble goin’ into that alley.”

(Huh?)

Kate: “Wait, did you let yourself get attacked so I would break my promise?”

Jude: “Oh, lil bird might have some brains in her after all.”

Kate: “And you're awful.”

Jude: “Thanks for the compliment.”

Jude: “I'm lookin’ forward to seein’ how long that cocky attitude of yours lasts.”

-later-

When they said they were going to work, I pictured an office, but it turned out to be a port. 

(Well, I guess that makes sense since they run a trading company.)

Jude: “Ellis, get ‘that’ ready. We're makin’ a move tonight.”

Ellis: “Got it. See you later, Kate.”

Kate: “Um, okay. See you later.”

(What's “that”? Where is Ellis going?)

I chased after Jude, who kept walking and barking out orders left and right. 

He was talking to people who seemed like dock workers and foremen.

I settled in between some boxes of cargo and watched him. 

The looks directed at him were a mix of fear, hostility, and respect. 

(They're scared of him and I can sense some pushback, but then others respect him so much they wouldn't dare try anything.)

After a while, their conversations ended and Jude was left alone. 

That was when a friendly young man came running up to him. 

Friendly Man: “President! Thank you for your hard work!”

Jude: “Tch. Don't be so loud, Jack.”

Jack: “Y-you remembered my name!”

(Wow, I can't believe someone admires him that much though.)

Jack: “Hm? Who's that young lady over there?”

Jude: “Huh? That's my woman.”

Jack: “What?! You're the president’s girlfriend?!”

(No, really–don't be so loud, Jack!)
