Y Monotone Partitioning

미적으로 아름답다고 생각하지 않아 실제 알고리즘을 구현하지는 않았으나, 공부한 내용은 정리하여 둔다.

지멋대로 생긴 폴리곤을 monotone으로 나누는 방법에 관한 글이다.

먼저 모노톤이란 무엇인가? 모노톤은 가장 위의 정점에서 가장 아래의 정점으로 왼쪽 혹은 오른쪽으로 걸어내려갈때 항상 아래방향 혹은 수평방향으로만 움직이게 되는 도형을 말한다. (컨벡스홀과는 다른개념이니 주의해야한다.)

위 그림의 꼭지점들은  start, end, merge, split 그리고 regular로 속성을 분류할 수 있다.

자, 주의점은, 실제코드 구현상 내부각이 180도 이하인지 초과인지를 분간하기 힘드니 이것은, 3개의 꼭지점이 이루는 회전방향을 체크하여 판단하도록 한다.

만약 꼭지점으로 merge와 split을 갖고있지 않으면 그 도형은 monotone이다. 

merge와 split을 갖고있는순간, 해당 꼭지점을 다른 꼭지점과 이어 구획을 나눠버려, monotone화 시키는데 그방법은 다음과 같다.

1. split Vertex를 만났을때

참고로 helper란 스윕라인 위의 꼭지점중, 가장 아래있는 정점(위 그림상 helper(e)에 해당)으로, 꼭지점 v기준 바로 좌측선분e와 helper(e)를 평행하게 그은 선분이, 도형 내(가끔 도형을 벗어나서 가로지르는 경우가 있다.)에서 가로지르면 helper가 된다. (말로 풀어쓰니 설명이 굉장히 이상해진다 ㅠ)
