🔓 Jyugo 🔓

Jyugo is quite perceptive of other's emotions, so he picks up on your negative mood before you even say anything

He's by your side in an instant, silently asking what's wrong and if there's anything he can do to help

If you're hesitant to tell him, he'll assure you that you can talk to him and he'll gently coax you, but if you aren't ready, he won't push it

He's silent as he allows you to vent your frustrations, and takes your hand to provide a bit of wordless comfort until you let everything out

Runs a hand up and down your back to soothe any tears that fall, quietly shushing you, murmuring that you're okay, that you're safe

"It's okay, Y/N. You're safe here with us. Nothing/Nobody will ever hurt you again as long as I'm around. I promise you that."

🎲 Uno 🎲

Uno is quick to realize something is amiss with you with how silent and distant you seem, and approaches you as soon as he possibly can

A hand on your cheek, he gently asks what the matter is, his cerulean blue eyes gazing warmly into your own

A soft look of concern and sadness flits across his face as you explain to him what's been ailing you, and he runs his thumb across your eye to dry any tears there

"Aww.. there there, Y/N. I've got you. (Trauma/Abuser) can't hurt you anymore. Not while I'm here."

He wraps his arms around you and holds you close, petting the back of your head gently as he quietly shushes you and dries your tears

Won't let go of you until your tears have run dry, and when you pull away from the hug, he'll squish your cheeks lightly and ask with a warm smile, "Now, where's my happy Y/N? Huh? There they are!~"

🍩 Rock 🍩

As soon as he picks up on your upset state, he's pulling you aside and putting his hands on your shoulders, a concerned look on his face

He asks what's wrong, voice stern yet gentle, worried for your emotional well being

Frowns when you start telling him what's wrong, and keeps his hold on you, a thumb rolling back and forth against your shoulder to soothe you as you speak

When you start to tear up, he lifts a hand to wipe away the tears before they have the chance to fall, and he pulls you into a warm hug, hooking his chin against your shoulder

"It's alright, Y/N, everything's okay now. I won't let anything or anyone harm you ever again, I'll make sure of it."

He stands there and allows you to sob into his shoulder, rubbing soothing circles into your upper back as he whispers gentle words of comfort and reassurance

You don't even need to try to hide your emotions from this boy-- he can just tell you're down in the dumps by looking at you

Is quick to come up to you and ask what's wrong, taking your hands into his own and holding them against his chest as his eyes meet yours

His heart breaks for you with every word you say, and he completely relates to the pain you've gone through with his own fair share of trauma and abuse

He envelops you in a big, tight hug and nuzzles against your cheek, trying not to cry himself

"I'm so, so sorry, Y/N..! It'll be okay, though; we've got each other now.. you're safe!"

Absolutely refuses to let go as he clings to you and you cling to him. You'll be cuddled till the two of you fall asleep for all he cares!

Hiiro of Nanbaka fame, although I hate your guts, you Are my Roman Empire. (Spoilers for like. the Entire end of Nanbaka. You have been Warned)

In all respects, Hiiro does position himself to oppose Mashiro, yes, but by opposing Mashiro he becomes more and more like the man he hates. Take this analogy for an example: a child takes another child’s toy. The child who was taken from is angry, and so, they take the other child’s toy. Without interference, it becomes a cycle. That’s how I view Mashiro and Hiiro’s rivalry. Hiiro lowers himself to Mashiro’s level in order to get back at him, ultimately causing himself to mirror Mashiro. Kaazu and the Shiki are just a means to an end for their never ending grudge match.

And when talking about Hiiro, of course, you cannot fail to mention Touko. Hiiro may well have loved Touko, but with the time it has taken for him to make Kaazu and Nanba, Touko has just become a figurehead for his endless hate. Hiiro cannot and does not see Touko as a person anymore. He has constantly gone against her in her own name, what by becoming what Mashiro was. I find it to be one of the most intriguing parts of Hiiro. His “love” for Touko isn’t real anymore. It’s just something he can hold onto in order to continue his crusade against Mashiro.

Lastly, I’d like to touch on his relationship with Jyugo. It mirrors his relationship with Touko greatly, but with one key factor which makes Hiiro become a complete hypocrite. Hiiro’s “love” for Jyugo isn’t real…and it causes Jyugo to suffer. Hiiro, by harming Jyugo, thinks he is helping him. He thinks he is justified. Which is exactly what Mashiro thinks. Mashiro hurt Touko, but he was open about his selfishness while doing so. Hiiro hides his selfishness under the guise of “caring” for those he “loves”. Hiiro becomes a more hated antagonist because of this, because, in contrast to Mashiro, Hiiro is a coward. Hiiro hides his own desires under guises of the betterment of mankind. Mashiro doesn’t. Hiiro finally differentiates himself from Mashiro, but at what cost? Hiiro has become what he hated…and more.

Something I have noticed before is that out of the main four, Jyugo and Nico are very similar in regards to background.

They're both the same age (with uno and rock both being several years older), have a history with human experimentation, and are the two who show off inhuman abilities that the other two are not capable of.

In Jyugo's case that comes in the form of his shackles, and his status as a togabito. For Nico, no explanation for his strange illnesses is given but he is turning people who touch him into cats this can't be normal.

But something I just noticed. Is that both Nico and Jyugo, togabitos or not, are effected on a fundamental level by the people around him.

A lot of Nico's medical problems are centered around the fact that he sees people that are admirable or 'cool' and is able to mirror them automatically. To the detriment of his own body.

Jyugo, on the other hand, is a shell. He lacks passion in a way that the other three have in huge volume, which is kinda the whole point of nanbaka. Togabito of emptiness and all that. He has no feelings directed towards anything that doesn't harm him or make him uncomfortable.

Except there's a blind spot in that: Jyugo cares for people. This guy has no attachment to his own arms and yet people motivate him. That's huge.

Idk what's the link here but since few others in this huge cast have this kind of connection to people I thought it was kinda cool

Also, I want to pay a lot of attention to how Jyugo is played?? with a Rubik's cube, it was not once, he literally often gets it. Apparently he carries it with him just everywhere, how do you like the theory that he stims with this cube????

Decided to draw something for an AU me and my friends made that I’ve been neglecting a bit; Mermaid!Nanbaka, where the boys of cell 13 are mermen and me and my friends’ OCs are humans the boys are interested in. (Or could be switched around.)

Wolfie is down at the beach foraging for washed up items and food, and mer!Jyugo wants to help out. Although she isn’t too sure if fish with sliced up flesh from a merman’s powerful bite is gonna be that edible!

🔓 Jyugo 🔓

Jyugo is a bit curious with his S/O's bad vision and how the glasses make it magically better

At one point probably asks to try wearing them and gets confused when the glasses make his own vision wonky

He thinks they look good on them though and often compliments their cute appearance

The first time they forget their glasses he finds it funny and offers to retrieve them

As it happens more and more often he does get a bit exasperated but can't help but laugh at least a little bit at how ridiculously often it occurs

Enjoys coming up behind his S/O and playfully taking their glasses off by surprise just for laughs

🎲 Uno 🎲

Uno finds his S/O to be adorable with their glasses. They add so much to their character

He likes to annoy them by purposefully poking and smudging their glasses while wearing them just to see them fuss and wipe the smudge away with the bottom of their shirt

Another thing he likes to do is lift their glasses up to press an easy kiss to the center of their face, just between their eyes

Always laughs when they forget their glasses and makes a joke that they should just glue the glasses to their face so they cant forget it anymore

Doesn't mind retrieving their glasses for them when they forget. After all this gives him the opportunity to smudge them and annoy them again

Definitely tries ordering new frames for them so they have a variety of glasses to wear, probably one for every outfit

🍩 Rock 🍩

Rock loves his S/O's glasses; they give them a specific look he adores so much

Also loves how cute they are when they're squinting their eyes and trying to no avail to see without them

Enjoys snatching their glasses and holding them just out of reach to playfully taunt his S/O and get to see those squinting eyes

Lets out a heavy sigh every time they forget their glasses, and asks how on earth they can forget something so important almost every day

This may or may not fuel his urge to taunt his S/O with their glasses whenever he gets it for them

His excuse is that maybe if he does it enough, it'll teach them to remember their glasses so they don't have to "fight" him for them every time they forget

Nico finds glasses to be a lovely addition to any person

Totally adores his S/O's glasses and how nice they look on them

His little tease he does to his S/O is stealing their glasses while they're asleep and acting like he doesn't know what happened to them (Even though he's clearly hiding it behind his back)

Laughs every time they forget their glasses, as it reminds him of when he used to forget to take his meds back before he was in Nanba

Tells them he finds it adorable, but they really should try to remember before they end up walking into walls and hurting themselves with being unable to see

Definitely wears his S/O's glasses when they're asleep at one point just to see how they look on himself
