You can say he got over her, sure, but he was canonically in love with a woman. Like, hard. Like. Star Wars might not have happened if he hadn't fallen in love with her hologram the first/second time he saw her. He can "swear off women" after discovering the girl he was crazy about ended up being his sister, sure, but you can't erase that he was crazy about her.

I mean, this is the internet, the straight characters are going to be drawn and written having gay relationships, the AroAce characters are going to do the same by giving them a very active romantic life, and none of that should matter because this is content MADE by fans, It's not Canon. I think we would all be more at peace if those who enjoy making content about Moon having a partner didn't impose the idea on others or try to justify it. Suffice it to say that this is an AU. Do not waste time or effort trying to convince others that the idea is better than the original, will not succeed.

(Waddles in) I was just explaining why I don't like solarmoon. It's not a very big deal. But also, excusing everything with "but it's the internet" is stupid. Added on, the Aspec community has every right to be upset about people shipping moon for the sake of shipping moon. If a character was confirmed to be YOHR sexuality, but people around you disregarded it or used the excuse that it's a spectrum to ship how THEY want to, it's just. Bad. Like you COULD ship them, but if you're going to do that while keeping that they're aroace I'd expect you to handle it while acknowledging that at many times, aro people just don't fall head over heels in love. If anything it takes time. Or sometimes we do, but the feeling dies off when it's reciprocated. The problem comes with the fact that they do not acknowledge it at all and that they ignore it.

Also. I'm not crying or whining about it. I never EVER liked Solarmoon but I've never made much of a big deal out of it. The most was making a post on Twitter saying if you ship solarmoon I'll probably be unfollowing? I understand that shipping discourse between these two robots is so, so weird, but it doesn't change the fact that I personally feel very uncomfortable around it because it seems like incest to me.

aemond's clearly obsessed with never looking weak, he doesn't feel like he can be weak in front of his family - even his mom. alicent can't offer emotional support to her children (maybe a little to helaena), so they find it elsewhere.

aemond prob view this woman as "beneath him", someone he can use and vent to because what is she gonna do? it doesn't matter if she sees him being weak because she's inconsequential in his world.

aegon and aemond are sooooo affection starved. they do feel, they need to feel loved. they need comfort but lack the emotional intelligence to reach out and form those connections.

It was honestly very tame. I was expecting Homelander level of build up and pay off, but there are good shows and then there's...HOTD. Besides, the fandom is already flustered over this little scene, which for a canon stuffed with incest and non-con and dub-con and gore and violence, a large number of its fans have surprisingly surface-level intelligence/empathy. I do think darker topics require more of both these traits to be consumed well but the show itself chooses not to go full on with them so I'm not surprised the fandom is wrapped in cotton wool and spoon fed like a baby.

And I totally agree with your view on the madame. I am not a fan of terming her his "abuser" the way some people have been doing. Using words frivolously makes them lose all meaning and impact.

In what sense is she an abuser exactly? In the sense that you feel protective over Aemond, and this middle-aged woman is not young or attractive enough to be a satisfying self-insert? And I won't be told this isn't the case with some fans, because some of them definitely have on horse blinkers.

Logically, she is not an abuser. She looked to me like she didn't even want to be there and was disengaged from him mentally/emotionally. He very clearly told her not here and was in control of the situation, suggesting the experience is meticulously tailored to his wants and needs. The last time they met when he was thirteen, sure it's gross that a boy that young is going through something like that, but guess who brought him there? Aegon. The madame turning down the patronage of a royal prince would make her insane if you go by in-world logic. Royal patronage attracts more customers and more money for her girls. It's common sense. Do you know where her real priority was? Getting him to be aware of the smallfolk the next time he loses his temper and does something stupid (since he's already done one stupid thing).

If anything, Aegon might be termed the abuser and the madame was the tool he used, but even then, he was also taught that this behaviour was okay because someone took him to a brothel at 13. Just because he accepted and conformed to this way of living, doesn't mean it wasn't wrong that he went through it too.

Anyway, tip of the iceberg, but there you see - spoon feeding all this context to an audience that is largely unequipped to dive deeper into uncomfortable topics in the span of an hour is impossible.

What’s your OTP for your Muse(s)?

i absolutely cannot say i have one ship that i favour over any others for any of my muses. do i have ships that i am occasionally more feral over? yes, absolutely, but that is always down to ongoing discussions, plotting, etc with my ship partner(s), and it doesn't mean another of my ships isn't going to take the Feral Spot in a couple of days.

also, having one favourite is just boring and restricting. going feral over multiple ships is way more fun.

What are you willing to RP when it comes to shipping?

asides from the obvious themes and tropes which i shouldn't have to list but will anyway (age inappropriate, teacher/student, incest, dub/non-con, a/b/o, etc), i'm fairly open to a lot of things - my only condition is that things have to be discussed. i can't jump into a ship without at least establishing the basics, because i don't auto-ship even if i already enjoy the idea of a ship between those characters.

How large does the age gap have to be to make it uncomfortable?

as already said above, age inappropriate ships are a big no. minors are only shipped with minors of the same age range and only in a light way, and i refuse to "age up" anyone for the sake of shipping.

but in regards to the adult muses, generally it depends on a few factors. for example: general setting of canon, the species' involved, etc. when you write characters who are thousands of years old, age gaps don't really mean the same thing. in that case, as long as the characters involved are of similar emotional maturity, i'm fine with it.

Are you selective when shipping?

yes, absolutely. i have to be comfortable with the other person (or people, if we're doing poly ships) as well as comfortable with the ship itself, and there has to be chemistry between both muns and muses, otherwise it's... just not going to work. i also want to avoid being 'collected' for shipping, because i actually like to develop deep and complex dynamics with people and not just empty ships based solely on aesthetics.

How far do steamy moments have to go before they’re considered NSFW?

if you're going into detail, that's too far. it's really that simple. suggestive elements, insinuations, implied actions, they're all safe. but if you're giving a blow-by-blow (pun intended) explanation of what's going on..... yeah, that needs the tag.

Who are other muses you ship your muse with?

gestures at all of my ships ????? i ship my muses with whoever i end up shipping them with. i don't have expectations for ships, and i actually treasure the ones that spring from absolutely nowhere.

Does one have to ask to ship with you?

yes, absolutely. i don't auto-ship and i need to actually know you want to ship bc i'm not psychic and i won't make assumptions based on "hints" bc i probably won't pick up on them in the first place. be direct. the worst that'll happen is i'll say no.

How often do you like to ship?

how often is a weird question tbh. i ship when i ship ??? i do enjoy shipping and developing those bonds, but there's not like... a set pace to how often i like to ship. it's not my focus for writing here. i suppose once i have a ship going, i do like to delve into it as often as possible, whether that's through actual writing or just discussing the dynamic with the relevant people.

Are you multiship?

of course! i like to be open to all kinds of dynamics! however i am very selective on which dynamics i'll pursue more than one iteration of - they generally have to be different enough from one another that there's no chance of overlap or reusing of elements or ideas, and i won't ever do more than 2-3 of the same combination for that reason. for the most part, a number of my ships are unofficially exclusive in that regard (but not actually exclusive - yet). any ships that are a combination of characters you'd never normally think to throw together generally fall under that category.

neither? i'm not ship obsessed because i'm not here just to write ships, but i do really enjoy writing and developing those dynamics when they come along. so... somewhere in between, i guess??

It's sad you don't even know the actual definition of proship. If it was just anti harassment then it would be called anti harassment. The point of it is anti censorship in adult fiction.

People aren't specifically uncomfortable about the canon vs non canon debate either. If a guy sees someone posting art of FC getting groped by Eclipse and the op giggling about it, people have a right to complain and be creeped out by it.

ESPECIALLY IN A FRANCHISE AIMED AT KIDS

We LITERALLY had a grown adult preying on minors because they were proship, and then proceeded to groom and take advantage of them willing to make porn.

In a normal fandom that is targeted for adults, for example Game of Thrones, it's not a red flag. You know why? Because minors are discouraged from interacting with adults writing dark fiction. It's adults writing for adults by other adults.

In a fandom that is flooded with teens, and they try to take that same approach? They're automatically set up for predators to come after them. It doesn't matter where or what you're making: if you make taboo shit, you're going to attract taboo people. That's how the internet works.

And by encouraging that shit instead of nipping it in the bud, more and more kids are going to get hurt. There is a reason why proship isn't welcomed and is associated with pedophiles: because a lot (not all) will use it to groom other people. This months incident that blew over is a real life example of that, as horrible as it is.

And it Constantly happens in fandom spaces, especially when it involves children's media. This isn't a one-time fluke or unique. It is history repeating itself over and over again in different clothes.

The proshipping isn't exclusively the problem. The problem is a) it attracts actual predators and MAPs apologist b) more often than not people use it to glorify and normalise topics it shouldn't such as pedophilia and incest c) when it is posted to fandoms with a young majority most people that do find it aren't going to have the reading comprehension to know When dark fiction is being respectful about it's topics d) people are naturally going to be uncomfortable with it and not trust anyone that makes that kind of content

And people are Really hung up on d). Because you know what uncomfortable people do when they have no impulse control? they lash out.

I am, by NO means justifying harassments of any kind. I despise callout posts in any form. I've been a victim of witch-hunting before, where people would go in raids to mass report anyone with "dangerous" disorders. Didn't matter if you actually did anything wrong, if you're a minority you're an easy target, and clout chasers Love easy targets.

It's horrible and traumatic to experience, to live every day knowing that if you get unlucky enough you'll be on the chopping block no matter how much you try to appease the crowd. That there are people that love nothing more than to ruin your life, as if it wasn't fucking bad enough that I live in a sundown town. It's depressing to watch the same people chanting to abolish prisons, and then 5 seconds later devolve into the same mob mentality mindset that caused mass lynchings.

But that's how it is. Like it or not people are going to develop their cliches, and gatekeep, and purity preach. Because society as a whole only sees in black and white. They have to make sure that 'hey followers you're not like that One person, right? you wouldn't betray me like this, right bestie?'

People can't even handle furries for fucks sake, and you want them to make an exception for child x adult ???

You're asking a Lot out of a fandom made of people with undeveloped frontal lobes. In an internet era mind you where it's "fun" to tell people to commit suicide for the most mild of grievances (which personally sickens me more than anything else)

You cannot seriously tell me that you're offended that people don't agree with you. Freedom of speech entitles people to saying what they do and don't like. When you post something on the internet you are entitled to your opinion, and so is everyone else that's going to interact with yours. It's not always going to be positive.

Proshipping is always going to have push back because in general it's not socially acceptable. but in fandoms filled with kids it's specifically going to be even more harsh because it's a dangerous breeding ground for grooming.

The reality is that it's not going to be safe for proshippers that're trying to settle down in places full of minors, ever. I'm sorry you're just now finding that out the hard way. Because chances are, especially with the political climate getting even worse, that is not going to change any time soon. People will just double down the worse it gets, this time for all the wrong reasons.

If you want an actal safe place to go, stick to franchises that already deal with those topics in canon, where it's written for mature audiences. Not in a place full of kids and targeted at immature audiences. - ☀🌙

DNI footnotes/explanations.

Realized my DNI got a bit wordy so I decided to put the long text here instead of in the introduction. Full DNI list is in the introduction, and this is only the footnotes for a few select items on the list.

I don't want to get into the flipping "pro-ship/con-ship" discourse. Those who harass people for making reprehensible content aren't much better then said people making reprehensible content, and honestly I don't care about this terminally online crap beyond my own boundaries with who I want to interact. I do not pick a sides.

Both Antis and Proshipers seem guilty of harassment, the difference is Antis seem to lack media-literacy and are unable to understand that people should be allowed to write about dark and uncomfortable topics, and Proshippers don't understand that how said dark/uncomfortable topics are depicted and handled fucking matters, and you can't just hand-wave "depiction doesn't mean endorsement" in every single situation.

That being said, if your interested in these relationships not because you like the two together, but because you want to explore these uncomfortable topics (while handling it with care and recognizing yes this is very fucked up and your supposed to be horrified, instead of treating it like "awww isn't it nice how these two characters are in a relationship.") Then yeah, that's fine I guess because unfortunately, these f*cked up things both happened in the past (looking at you Hellenic Egypt and Ancient Greece) and unfortunately still happen now. Not really interested in fan works that depict characters I like as bloody gr*omers but you do you.

However, if you don't tackle that and just ship the two characters like nothing is wrong with the situation, I'm going to think you're a weirdo/creep and ask you to not interact with me. At first glance I'll assume you're the latter and not the former. If you are the former please make it clear your not the latter. (and no if you're the latter and are using the former as a shield without doing anything, you don't get a pass.)

I guess there's some gray area where you age up Frisk in a Frans AU while steel acknowledging that canonically in UT's canon their a child, which I still think is fucking weird but whatever, don't interact with me but as long as your not using it as a shield while actually doing nothing to age up then whatever.

I'll also think it's weird if you like, try and justify why Chara and Asriel aren't actually siblings despite Gerson mentioning the Dreemurr's children in plural, or why Lancer is actually a teenager and not a child but whatever. I don't care about this stupid pro/anti-ship discourse. I'll just silently be like "that's weird I don't like it" and move on with my life because two wrongs don't make a write.

Two things can be true, that it's weird and creepy to ship i*and p*dophilia in a "it's nice how these two characters are together" way, and that harassing people for doing so isn't much better.

Also to clerify, Friskriel and Charisk don't fall under this DNI unless specific extenuating circumstances are in effect. Friskriel is fine unless Toriel adopts Frisk because then it's incest. Charisk is fine, and I guess there's some grey area in "is it moral to date a ghost that used to be your mom's adopted child like 100s years ago" because of I guess that lacks the whole "power dynamic" issue, but if it's a "save ghost pal" situation where Chara's magically alive because ????? and Toriel adopts Frisk then it's incest. (Hey things get complected when one of the characters is dead!) I will give the benefit of the doubt and assume Friskriel and Charisk isn't the incestuous versions unless stated otherwise.

(FOOTNOTE 02): "Kralsei just barely gets a pass until we know what Ralsei is. Potential reveals may push the ship into the DNI zone."

This is only until we get an answer on what Ralsei is. There's still the caveat of "there's some sort of connection between him and Asriel due to the anagram, and characters drawing attention to the resemblance so future reveals may push the ship into the yikesy category." The resemblance is concerning but I'm just not going to touch the ship until we know more about what Ralsei is.

Currently, I just see Kralsei shippers similarly those who shipped Luke and Laia in 1982, as ROTJ isn't out yet so you don't know that they were siblings. (Except for the Kralsei example we know he's somehow connected to Asriel, while with Luke and Laia it was a retcon in ROTJ and SW fans pre-1983 had no reason to be worried, especially seeing as they f--king kissed.)

I don't think Ralsei is Asriel, but if its revealed that Ralsei is like a personification of Kris's familial love for their brother or something, then that's going to push Kralsei into the "OH GOD YIKES" category and if you still ship them after that reveal, please don't interact.

Still, even the best case scenario for Kralsei is going to feel weird to me just because of Ralsei's connections to Asriel but again I'm withholding judgment until we know what Ralsei is. At best Kralsei's going to be kind of weird at worst it's going to be "OH GOD YIKES!" (and this isn't even taking into account Kris's whole possession situation and how that would impact their consent in any relationship seeing as were controlling them.)

(Footnote 03): Please tag your anti-ship or anti-character posts, or I will likely block you.

I don't really care about shipping discourse and stuff (beyond the above "DNI if you ship yikes ships"), but please if you make anti-ship or anti-character posts tag them as anti-[ship name here] (E.G "anti-suselle" or "anti-kris" or any anti-tag equivalent). If you don't and instead just use the normal ship or character tag, I'll likely block you because I follow that tag for anything but posts bashing that character or ship.

I don't care if you hate a ship or character that I love, (i may make posts defending a ship/character, or debunking arguments against them without targeting anyone individually), but generally if you hate a relationship I love I don't care. I just don't want to see anti-suselle posts tagged with just "suselle," or "Chara's horrible" posts that ignore the nuance because I follow the suselle and Chara Dreemurr tags to see anything but "This ship/character is bad." Just do the basic thing and tag your anti-ship posts that's all I ask.

I used to be pretty loose with blocks (and honestly the more time goes on the more likely I'm going to be chill with blocks.) In the past I used to only block if there were extreme circumstances involved.

1. The character everyone gets wrong: SONIC!!!! I know things can be read differently by different people but I really feel like Sonic's aroaceness is a HUGE part of his character. I'm sorry Sally enjoyers but I really can't see her appeal. Even in Archie she was overshadowed (First comes to mind is Charmy was the hidden royalty, Rotor is good with electronics), which isn't her fault but she's a character supposed to be entertaining, nothing about her was. I guess the appeal is what can you can add to her character? But I'm not a big fan of those types. So yeah I saw her too much when I already didn't like her and most of it was wanting her back. Which wouldn't make any fucking sense. And like let them rest, they've had like 20 years to shine. Let the IDW characters shine. (TANGLE I LOVE YOU TANGLE!!!!!)

There's been so much false information spread and someone in your replies seemed to take the idea that they are all canonically related at face value that I felt like just being blunt. The way you separated the points and said "logically, they are incestual" came off as you saying "this is incest if you use logic because like I said in the last point MK could be their kid even if it is not confirmed and that is bad". Maybe I am touchy about others spreading false information in this fandom because on other platforms some of it has gotten shippers of harmless ships harassed or made Chinese fans uncomfortable enough to just leave and warn people to stay away from fans of the show.

I know flame and ship wars have always been a thing but i do genuinely miss when it was largely considered Rude and Unnecessary to put hate in a ship's tags. Nowadays everybody has to have some sort of moral fucking issue to justify not liking a pairing, and then it's like, hey, if you disagree with me, you're an asshole! or a creep! or Dangerous even! let me tell you a little secret, kids. the memories of one of my old, long-since-canceled fandoms from back when i didn't know better and just had fun. which is what fandom is meant to be, by the way: harmless fun. i used to be really into Hetalia. and the shipping arguments we had? majority of the time, they didn't bring up the incest. they didn't care about the abuse, they didn't care about sexuality, half of us didn't bother giving a shit about age because the characters were all immortal anyways. the ship wars were about Dynamics. it wasn't "your ship is bad and you're a bad person for liking it", it was "MY ship is BETTER and you should ship it Instead." we knew this shit didn't matter. we were passionate, sure, we got just as riled up as y'all, but we weren't making moral judgements about it. that kind of argument- the kind i see everyone making CONSTANTLY now- was largely considered a low blow. unimportant. making this more than it was. shipping is not activism. you are not a better person for only sticking with the purest and most canon ships. and you are not less bigoted for defending your ships against the Tainted ones. and frankly, some of you have a very strange way of determining canon. If something isn't stated, your assumptions are headcanon. age. gender. sexuality. the intentions between interactions. all of it is to be carefully considered, and just because there's an implication that would give You or some marginalized group a little more representation does not automatically mean that IS how it is. and no, the author saying it on twitter doesn't ACTUALLY count. it's a nice bit of validation, but it's not canon, and it's certainly not good representation. it needs to be stated in the text. and sometimes, you really gotta consider lategame. this piece of media you're talking about; is it Long? is it Old? were there Pauses between updates? how possible is it for someone to have built up a strong headcanon that means a lot to them before finding out that the canon information negates that? is it really fair for you to hold people to a stern standard for something that they won't see for a long time? hell, is it a spoiler to do so? and i get it. stepping down from that can mean uncomfortable things. it can mean accepting that a headcanon that's really, REALLY important to you isn't proper canon, and that other people don't HAVE to agree with you. that hurts. it can mean letting people support some things you consider disgusting, unknowingly, and make supportive Content while they don't know, only to be hit like a brick when they finally find out. that's deeply uncomfortable. it can mean hearing people talk about a character in a way that feels viscerally wrong to you. i get it. it sucks. but when you impose your will onto other fandomers to avoid these feelings, you make the whole place a worse enviornment for everbody. and frankly, a lot of you hurt yourselves in the process. you focus so hard on the stuff that upsets you, you forget to enjoy the things you do like. i'm seeing homestuck get some life again. and it's reminding me of all this same discourse and how it's almost guaranteed to be Worse this time around. so let me say, from the bottom of my heart, Ship, and Let Ship. Don't Like, Don't Read. Use the block button Often. Learn the difference between Squick and Trigger. Learn the difference between Canon and Headcanon. And remember to focus on having fun. not getting upset that other people are having fun the wrong way.
